upbeat and nice teacher, class is intensive

She is a GREAT psyc teacher! You did need to attend all of her classes because lecture material is the focus of her test. If you do attend all classes and retain the info you will do great. She is absolutley great about helping you after class..great response in emails. I also liked how she taught her intro class- without bias.

this intro to psych class is fantastic. she's a really cute lady who is really easy to pay attention to. she explains all the concepts really well and can always come up with examples that make everything make sense. tests were a bit difficult, but overall i'd take her class again. (:

Great teacher. Attendance is a must as the tests are based primarily off of the lectures. Book is for self study. Not used much.

I thought that Missi's class was very interesting. She made each topic easy to relate to the real world with her own examples. Textbook is used for own self study for the most part...her exams are hard, but easy if you study. She provides plenty of help for the exams including an online study session chat room. I would reccomend her for anyone!

Very interesting class. Requires a TON of your time...tons of small assignments to do. Text book is useless. tests are all situational based and from examples in class so attendance is mandatory. She loves what she does and that makes the class better, but if you arent looking for TONS of work to do..dont take

Missi is Awesome!!! she's super sweet and loves to help people do well- which is great. the tests are reasonable, if you dont understand the question she's more than happy to rephrase it so it makes sense. this class is very enjoyable to attend to b/c shes very joyful and clear. people cant help but to listen to what shes saying.

I had her Human Sexuality Class. She's very helpful with questions, but talks a bit quick..you get used to it though. She gives copies of the slides she uses for that lecture day and provides them online if u missed the class. Material was pretty easy, mostly because its about interesting things. Stuff covered is stuff u'll probably use in ur life

Dr. Patterson is a wonderful professor. She is extremely knowledgeable about the subject of sexology, and her classes are always a pleasure to attend. While it is not an easy course, Dr. Patterson utilizes class room feedback to make certain everyone is following, and places all of her lectures online. Further she is extremely responsive to email.

Missi is an AWESOME teacher! She makes class very fun and interesting. She is always available during her office hours and is willing to help you as much as she could. If you take her class, you will not regret it!

This class is tougher than I thought it would be. There are a lot of little assignments to keep up with. Missi (she likes to be called by her first name) is very detail oriented, so you have to stay organized. Overall, she is a pleasant, interesting lady who really wants you to learn psychology - not just memorize facts for a test. Recommended.

She is a wonderful teacher, so far the best I've had. Makes class and information intresting to learn. As long as you study for the exams and turn in everything she ask for, there's no reason why you shouldn't pass with a decent grade.

She is a really fun professor and actually invests in her students. also, she uses CPS questions throughout her class to ensure that you are understanding the information DURING CLASS so that she may have a chance to go back over a concept.

I thought that Missi was a great person, but as a teacher I didn't care for her at all. She moved very fast during class and it was hard to keep up with notes and examples. Most of most classmates including me were failing for a good part of the semester and didn't manage to pass until the end.

Missi's class isn't hard--it's just tedious. If Psych. isn't your major, you will most likely be annoyed with all the mediocre little projects she makes you do. She's very nice, but I would've rather just had 4 tests--and be done with it. "

Extremely sweet, fun, and helpful. Review your notes and read the chapters and the tests are pretty simple. If you miss a class make sure to get notes from another student. End of the semester group project is easy points.

Very nice, interesting professor. Hardly ever gives homework and her lectures are very interesting and she explains things well. She has tons of oppurtunitys for extra credit and to get 1 on 1 help if you need it. 2 major projects, a group presentation at the end of the semester and a portfolio, which is really simple. Study and youll have an A.

Wonderful teacher! She teaches really well and you can tell she loves what she teaches. Her tests are fair but not the easiest which means you really have to study and pay attention. She helps you with study sessions the day before online which allows the students to ask questions they are having problems with, which really help. Loved her class!

Awesome teacher! Missi is such a warm and funny person - her lectures are very interesting. she gives personal funny examples and makes even the most dull things interesting. You must putt effort into your work and be present for lectures or it would be tough to pass but paying attention to Missi is never a hard job.

Missi will lay a bread-crumb trail to a certain A, but one has to follow her instuctions to get there. Lectures are thorough and can not be skipped. Listen closely and pay strict attention to how much time she spends on a topic, this will help when preping for tests. Overall excellent instructor who obviously cares about students success.

I think she is a great teacher who goes above and beyond to help her students out. With any class, if you read the text, attend class and take notes, you'll pass. Her lectures are interesting and I her real life application approach to learning.

Missi is amazing. I am majoring in psychology, and I do have a knack for it, but she made everything crystal clear in her lectures. She has very interesting stories that help make the material more understandable and easy to remember, and she goes the extra mile for everyone. I got over a 100 in her class, and I would recommend her anyday!

She has a thing called portfolio you must do. It is very easy. I hesitated thinking it would be hard, but they are easy and fun. Take notes in this class! Her test are set up as 25 multiple choice and 6 short answers. *hint* when she writes something on the board or draws something... THIS WILL BE A SHORT ANSWER QUESTION.

Missi is awesome and very fun to listen to. She ties her lessons in with her own life experiences, which helps her students remember the material and keeps class interesting.

Missi is really cool. Lots of people say she is too hard, but that's because those people are slackers. Its easy- the only thing you have to remember to do is take notes in class and skim over the text a little bit because a few questions from there will be on the test. There is a portfolio to do about yourself which is fun also.

Missi as a person seems pretty cool. But you have to have internet to complete some assignments, and if you don't, to damn bad. (no, my class wasn't a hybrid course) She takes attendance. Really? REALLY?? This isn't high school. Now, we did have review sheets for tests and they DID help alot. I would have had a high A, but ended with a low B.

I love Missi Patterson! She is an awesome professor. Very helpful and gives you at least 15 ways to get extra credit. Tests are relatively easy if you read your notes. Had her for both psychology and human sexuality and would recommend her to anyone!

Absolutely loved her! She keeps the class entertained with her examples that relate to the material she's teaching. She's very willing to help if you have any issues. You will have to pay attention and read the book (30% of her test questions are textbook related). If you put the effort in, it will certainly pay off.

I loved Missi's class! She's an excellent instructor and is very helpful. There is a good amount of work outside of class, but Missi makes it fun and interesting. 3 small "papers" and a group presentation (be creative!) - but all in all a GREAT CLASS! I will recommend her to everyone!!

I am sure there are other profs. that give less work, but she gives SO much extra credit opps that its easy to get an A.Tests aren't easy, but if you at least pay attn. in class you can get a B.I didn't make an A on a single test and still got an A in the class.She is also an extremely delightful teacher, keeps class interesting and is sweet as pie

Missi is an incredible professor. She keeps your attention and explains things clearly. If ever you have doubts about anything at all, she is always available to help. The tests can be tricky, and she doesn't have a study guide, but if you pay attention in class, and scan the chapters, you can pull off a good grade.

Missi is BEYOND amazing!! She loves to help you on anything and her in class examples are so realistic and helpful that you almost only have to study her examples for the tests! Tests are extremely doable. One down side is you have required text book chapter tests BEFORE class, but they are helpful! I recommend this teacher 200%!!!! :)

Missi is such an amazing professor! There is a lot of work involved, but its pretty simple. I kept up with the labs, portfolios got average grades on the test and got an A. She is extremely easy to talk with and is willing to help you in any way possible. She makes the class fun and exciting and is definetly not your average professor.

Missi is great! Certainly not your average professor. She is the exception - and did I mention great!? That said, I would not take her class and expect an easy A. She requires a lot of time and work from her students. But, if you're in class to learn lots, work hard, and study hard you'll do fine and likely walk away having learned A TON!

Missi is REAL professor and you will get a REAL education from her, but she will require you to work hard and participate in the process. The payoff is you leave her class having actually learned something, with the satisfaction of knowing you earned that knowledge. Make use of her office hours for help. I had Missi for LifeSpan Development. She is clearly passionate about the subject and about her students. I worked hard and learned a ton. The actual work was not too difficult but having the info repeated over and over in multiple formats made it easy to truly learn it. I would recommend her to anyone. The tests were a challenge but good.

If you took an easy psychology class in high school, don't expect this to be the same. You do need to study a lot, and there is a decent amount of homework. However, the information is laid out, and it isn't hard to understand. Attendance is counted and it is IMPORTANT.

I love psych and signed up for more of her classes, but ended up dropping bc I realized that to be successful in this field, a doctorate is required to just become a professor. Dr. Missi was my favorite teacher that I have had so far at ACC. I wish every teacher taught in her style. I highly recommend this class- teacher in general. Fair warning though: This is not a blow off class you do have to work for your grade, but her instructions are clear and concise so if you follow them you can get an A.

I LOVE MISSI! This sounds dramatic, but this class changed my entire outlook on sex, acceptance and what we tolerate as human beings. She was hilarious, precise and taught me so much! Could I recommend her for the upcoming presidential elections? She's that good. Take her class and learn about sex and SO MUCH MORE.

Take this class. I cannot stress it enough. TAKE THIS CLASS. Missi is so amazing, by far my facorite class/professor. So knowledgeable and gives feedback often. Lots of extra credit. I took Human Sexuality with this professor, she is amazing. She cares a lot about her students and wants them to succeed. She has an interesting grading system which made you responsible for your grade. You definitely need to put in the effort but I mad an A no problem!

The grading criteria can get a little confusing at first, but you will get the hang of it. Get ready to write, as there are many essays and reflections needed for an A. If she taught other courses I would take her again.

Prof. Patterson is a phenomenal teacher. You will actually learn in this class and not just regurgitate useless info. This class is difficult. If you are not ready to participate, do multiple homework assignments every week, and stay engaged YOU WILL NOT PASS. There is a minnimum of 20 essays you need to write to earn an A. They are not super hard.

Professor Patterson is an amazing professor. She cares about her students and helps them achieve. Her class requires a lot of work but, if you get everything done you will pass. Her grading criteria is very clean and it helps you keep track of your grade. I learned a lot of new information in her class.

Dr. Patterson is an amazing professor that wants her students to succeed and truly sets you up for that. The class does have a lot of work but once you get in the rhythm, its pretty clear cut how to earn the grade you want. The lectures are engaging. The material is graphic so fair warning if you grew up conservative like me.

The test contains only essays, 2 for a C, 3 for a B, and 4 essays for an A. It all depends on you on what grade you want. This class is not hard and I promise you won't regret it

Missy is a wonderful professor, her class was never boring and I always learned something new. She makes the class comfortable for everyone, addressing subjects that may otherwise be awkward to ask about. The portfolios are the biggest chunk of your grade, and rely on note taking.

Missi is a wonderful prof. who wants you to succeed. Her lessons never fail to be interesting and the work attached to the lessons is always meaningful. The way she calculates grades is unique and therefore takes a moment to understand but you can get the hang of it pretty quick & she makes herself more than available for help. Take her class!

This class should be required for everyone, whether they are in school or not. Professor Patterson is absolutely fabulous, 350 characters is not even close to enough to put into words how amazing she is and beneficial this class is. Take her if you can, you will not regret it.
