Professor Sabol is very supportive and cares about student learning. She gives opportunities to earn back points and is available outside of class to help you with any questions that you have.
She is an awesome teacher! The content that is taught will be used after graduation when preparing for your job search! Shes fair when it comes to grading and loves to see effort! Overall, Im so glade I had her as my teacher for my first semester.
Misty Sabol isn't a teacher you'll regret enrolling into her class; you actually need to feel quite lucky if you make it into her course. She's very knowledgeable and wants you to become the same. What you learn in class can be used in life. Please know that if you think you can just come to class when you want, that will not get you very far.
Mrs. Sabol is by far one of my favorite professors at the University of South Alabama. The class provided me with knowledge that will actually help me with my career. As long as you attend class and complete all assignments following the guidelines, this class is very manageable and beneficial. Mrs. Sabol is also very accessible outside of class.
A dilligent and thoughtfull professor who is tough but fair when it comes to assignments. I would recommend that anyone seeking her be prepared to work hard and to review text book material prior to stepping into class. She is happy to reward hard work and will even give you attempts to correct things she points out that were incorrect.
Easy A as long as you put effort into your work. I didn't really use the textbook that often, so I recommend not buying it. Gives a decent amount of work. Only had a midterm and a final.
The best professor I have ever had!!! Made a 100 on midterm and final. Genuinely cares about her students, wish I could take her for every single class!!!!!!!! Love her so much!! She needs a raise!!!
Dr. Sabol is nice and all her assignments and exams were easy "A"s. However, it was hard for me to hear her during her lectures and I think because of the pandemic, everything is harder than usual.
Sweet lady but can be kind of confusing with directions. Would take her again simply because it was a pretty easy A.
We were given two weeks to complete each module final project and a quiz for the module. Class is very relaxed. Do all of the projects correctly and complete each quiz and you'll have an A. Midterm was also open notes and book. Very relaxed for a stats class.
I have made As in my other three stats classes but struggled to keep a C in this one. If you dont have a MacBook, none of the programs she uses will run on your computer. She doesnt communicate very well and its frustrating. Lenient grading until the final, which is hard since she just throws the material at you. Do not recommend to anyone!!!!!
class is relaxed. some assignments are more difficult than others. going to class will help a lot. most of the class is excel and programs similar to it. dr. sabol likes the astros and will bring it up in class sometimes.
Great teacher. It is obvious she cares about her students and is willing to work with you.
What a fantastic teacher, wow! It is clearly evident that she cares for her students. It is not often that you find the dedication to teaching like Mrs. Sabol has. I have learned so much and she is my favorite teacher.
Professor Sabol was absolutely amazing. Anytime I had a question about an assignment she was very quick to answer. Basically in this class you will have reading quizzes and a final assignment due each week. You can get the book but it personally did not really help me. I absolutely loved professor sable. highly recommend taking her.
Not a very involved professor and instructions on exams were always so vague. We basically taught ourselves and the final exam steps and videos took me 2 weeks with the help of 3 to figure out. They were also struggling and seeking help.
Horrible teacher was not involved in the class at all. Never actually taught anything all the work was through online bookwork/ smart book's. Posts a video for your projects and the directions for most work is very vague and not very helpful towards the assignment. Does not care for the students that are struggling or are going through things.
Easy material, but the course is very poorly set up. Practice exams do not function on Macs and she doesn't seem to enjoy her job, making announcement posts complaining about unnecessary questions/not reading instructions. Complete lack of professionalism. Dropped.
She was nice at first then later on was kind of rude. would make me feel dumb for asking questions. a lot of busy work that wasn't really useful, overall it was pretty easy aside from the projects.
Dr. Sabol will not work with you under any condition. I had a legitimate doctor's excuse and told her in advance, but she still did not want to work with me submitting my assignments correctly. Highly do not recommend taking her as she doesn't put effort into caring about her students and acts like she is the supreme ruler of the academic world.
So passive-aggressive with students. Her instructions for projects were unclear. Everyone that took her online with me struggled. Very unclear always.
Pick another teacher please
Directions were always unclear, when I would ask for clarification it would be vague. By the time I was close to understanding the material, the due date would be up and I would receive a 0
Avoid her at all costs. She's insanely inflexible and unwilling to work with students. She puts minimal effort in with unclear instructions but then gets frustrated and rude when you ask her questions about assignments. You will have to teach yourself. Easy material but difficult professor that honestly doesn't even seem to enjoy teaching.
I don't know if anyone else teaches data analytics 3, but if so choose them instead. She is very rude and inconsiderate of others. Avoid her at ALL costs if you can. She is one of the worst professors/teaches I have had in my total experience of education. She's not clear with her directions and she's very vague and passive aggressive. DO NOT TAKE!
She was extremely rude in every email. She legitimately emailed me to stop emailing her with so many questions. I didn't even send her that many. Her coursework is hard to follow and links never work so that's why I emailed her. Wouldn't take my doctor's excuse and had to get the dean involved. She was rude and did not work well with others.
I was timid at first given all the poor reviews, but she clearly has a passion for what she does. We do presentations each week that allows us learn material using current events. I have learned more in this course than my entire time in undergrad. You can't just do the bare minimum and expect a good grade. If you do the work you'll learn a lot.
Try not to take this professor at all costs, specially this course. She seems to not know the material herself. The “help” video she provided for the final project did not match what the instructions (that she told us directly to follow) said. Was rude when replying to emails and did not respond to emails about assignments until they were due.
You teach yourself if taking online.
What an absolute disaster of a class. The professor DOES NOT TEACH YOU ANYTHING!!! You have to teach yourself everything and all the assignments are extremely time consuming. I apologize ahead of time if you are taking this course with her.
Dr. Sabol is an absolute gem of South Alabama and was a very good class. While the class is not per se easy it does allow you the chance to grow and learn in the class. You will pass the class, but it does take a slight amount of common sense and work. One of our best MBA teachers in the program.
Horrible, that's all
This was a virtual class and I feel that she has done the best job with the tools given to her. Class was easy to go at your own pace. She was accessible and provided tutoring and TA to assist with questions.
Grading and expectations are very clear. Online course so very little interaction from her other than the occasional update. Questions were fielded by a TA.
I didn't like that some of the test's were graded wrong initially. Overall just okay.
I took this as a virtual class. I really have enjoyed this class. I do wish the lecture videos were more of her teaching, like when it comes to equations. Other than that she has done the best job with the tools given to her.
As a new graduate student who has not taken collegiate classes in quite some time, Dr. Sabol was very helpful quickly working through a book issue the first week of class. She was also very helpful throughout the entirety of the class answering student questions, concerns, etc...I would definitely recommend her!
This was my first MBA course. Her syllabus was concise and I was able to follow the course material.
It was an online course, so my interactions with the professor were very limited- everything was done through McGraw-Hill. She spaced out the class nicely though and did not assign copious amounts of homework; I feel like with online classes some professors assign extra homework to overcompensate for no in-person lectures, but she did not do that.
I have had Mrs. Sabol for undergrad and am now in the MBA program at South. She is very good at communicating what she expects from the class. Her syllabus is straightforward. you need to use the book and breakdowns she gives you on how to move forward with the questions for the Homework. The Homework is what goes into the exams.
Professor Sabol has clear grading criteria on syllabus and her homework assignments are quite easy if you do study. I can tell she wants us to finish the class with a good grade.
I have taken both her undergraduate and graduate level courses and can easily say she is one of my favorite professors. Her syllabus clearly outlines the course, and I appreciate that she responds quickly when needed. The only downside of the MBA course is the lecture videos. I would have appreciated it if they had included her working in Excel.
I'm thankful Dr. Sabol's Business Analytics course was the 1st course I took in the MBA online program. Despite being fully online, her clear structure, PowerPoints and videos that aligned well w/assignments made the experience feel connected and manageable. She was responsive, organized, and truly helped ease the transition into graduate studies.
The fully online MBA 501 course was very smooth with Dr. Sabol. She was very responsive.
She is a very good teacher if you have the discipline to be in an online class.
She is a great teacher.
She is a great professor. I appreciate that she was responsive to e-mails and her syllabus also laid out everything about the class and that made it so much easier to navigate graduate school's first semester.
I really enjoyed Dr. Sabol's class! The grading structure is very clear and assignments are due at the same time every week. I would take her for any class she's offering!
This was my first course with her, and I appreciated her taking the time to have group Zoom sessions with the class to discuss important work and instructions. She was thorough in her explanations, and she was open to criticism about the work.
Online class so pretty self sufficient. Instructor is very argumentative and doesn't efficiently address student's concerns.
Pros: Quickly and respectfully responds to students questions or concerns. Expectations and objectives are clearly defined and consistently followed throughout the class. Cons: Lectures are are NOT very informative. More of just reading the slides with limited explanation. Student must be able to read the material and teach self.
I like Dr. Sabol she is very open and willing to offer any assistance or guidance we need to succeed in her class; however, this is a class that you have to willingly put in the work. More homework assignments could be used to help with possible scoring low on the final exam.
This class is pretty fast paced and homework heavy. You really get out what you put into the class. The grading system is fair and there is multiple opportunities for extra credit.
Dr. Sabol's class was hard but the grading was straight forward and fair. It was online but her and the TA were very responsive to email so communication wasn't a problem.
You are able to work at your own pace, but the work took time to work out so you have to start early so you will have tome to ask questions and receive a response. Professor gave schedule availability and offered zoom meetings if needed. Grading scale was clear and offered bonus points. I would take Dr. Sabol again.
Everything is laid out for you and you pretty much work at your own pace. I do not find that the lectures were in depth enough to the point where someone who does not have any previous business knowledge would understand well. As long as you read the textbook as you work, you will be fine.
The assignments were clear and due at the same time every week. The workload was manageable. Some of the excel assignments needed more guidance. The videos provided were inaccurate at times. The check my work feature was unavailable for much of the class. It was beneficial to have two attempts at the homework assignments.
The lecture videos are very helpful, and she will answer any questions that the class has.
The professor was good herself, the materials were difficult to learn. You absolutely had to teach yourself. This was an online class though. The professor did have lecture videos recorded and uploaded to canvas for students. Also she was willing to help when students emailed in their questions.
Online course, answered questions quickly. Overall good for fully online. I did like that she had videos to supplement material.
Approachable if you reached out, but overall the course felt very self-taught. Some of the concepts were hard to understand without more direct teaching and textbook is required to even access the homework and “check my work” feature was iffy. Overall, It's a doable class, just be ready to put in the effort and learn a lot on your own.
Dr. Sabol is a great professor. I was a part of her online MBA 501 class. The class was very organized on Canvas with clear instructions and due dates. The lectures she provides do not help with the homework; however, the textbook we used had hint videos to succeed. She also has a TA who is super helpful for anything you do not understand.
I took her MBA 501 class and the class was very self taught. I understand that the class is online but the lecture videos were not that helpful and i relied on outside resources to help me with the class. Hard to learn by yourself but you can tell she cares about her students!
Fully online course. The professor provided clear instructions, timely communication, and organized course materials. Expectations were outlined from the beginning, and grading criteria were transparent and fair. Overall, a solid option for students seeking a straightforward, low-pressure online class with a reasonable workload.
Dr. Sabol was a great professor! She taught the class fully online but was always available for zoom meetings, scheduling in person, etc. I thought this class was going to be hard, but she made it fun and the material was easy. If you do the work you can absolutely make an A in this class. She is not difficult at all!
Dr. Sabol was awesome! Even though the class is online, she will make time for zoom meetings, scheduling in person, etc. The material is easy. If you do the work you can absolutely make an A in this class.
Basically a self-taught course. Lectures are very little lecturing... mostly reading the slides. However, course work is not difficult. 40% of grade from assignments, 30% Final exam, 30% incredibly easy AI module. Dr. Sabol is very responsive to students and fair in grading. Objectives and expectations are clear from the beginning.
Fun class and good professor. Kind woman. Class is very in tune to the current environment of our society and AI. Beneficial class for sure.
Professor Sabol was very instructional all semester! The flow of material in the course was very easy to follow and she was very specific about what needed to be studied which benefited my performance in the course incredibly. I would advise any student in the business school at South Alabama to consider Professor Sabol!
I liked the way she ran her online course. Made it very clear how to retain the information and where to start the assignments. Would definitely take her class again.
I enjoyed taking this course.
Proffesor Sabol was very fair and was very acceptable as long as you kept up with your work.
Teach yourself class, her lectures are just re-reads of the textbook. The hints/videos in the assignments from the book are very helpful. You download a new program that I've personally never heard of/ran before and the professor does the bare minimum to guide you through it. Youtube will be your teacher for that.
Professor Sabol does a good job of laying the course out in a way that makes the assignments and grading criteria very clear. Overall, it was a pretty enjoyable and easy to navigate online course.
This course was fully online, and I really appreciated how everything was laid out and organized ahead of time, rather than receiving the work the week of. For students with busy schedules like me, in a sport and working part-time, it is really beneificial to have a plan and schedule for upcoming weeks.
This course was easy and accessible online. It was a great class! and the professor was excellent.
The class was set up clearly with all assignments and projects, including all grading. Since it was fully online, I was able to plan and work through the homework assignments (which counted as participation for the class). Overall, it was a good class and I would take Dr. Sabol again.
This class was clearly set out and easy to navigate. All grading criteria for the semester were readily available from the beginning. It was easy to plan the reading and homework assignments around my schedule. Overall, it was a good experience and I would take Dr. Sabol again.
very knowledgeable professor, but expect to teach yourself most things from the book. some concepts were difficult to grasp and she did get a TA to assist with questions, but I think we all could have benefited from a zoom or recorded video of her doing some of the things.
she is a good teacher, be prepared to have a lot of homework. It's a good thing because it leaves room for you to bring your grade up.
I have her currently for my MBA class, some of the information was tough to grasp and remember but overall, a pretty decent class
The class was pretty straight forward, some of the information is hard to remember but overall, a pretty decent class.
Professor Sabol is a great teacher. I took her MBA 501 class online and ended with a high B. All the homework and tests are on McGraw-Hill Connects. Not a lot of work, so you comprehend the material well. The only negative I have is minimal grades. All the assignments are worth a small number of points. If you do the homework, you will be fine.
Solid graduate school professor. She provided clear instructions and made it relatively easy to do good in class. The amount of weekly work seems very fair and still taught me a lot.
She is very informative. She will post lots of announcements and will answer all of your questions
She did a good job covering a tough class subject. Was helpful throughout the semester with zoom meetings for anyone who had general questions. Not a lot of grades in the class but you have the ability do well.
She teaches off of lecture videos in the online course. The graded assignments are based off of these videos, but you need to read the chapter as well to fully grasp the concept. I enjoyed this class.
If u are like me & don't like all the unnecessary assignments & homework, this class is perfect for u. She was easy to get in touch with & didn't have that "u should know this already" attitude. No exams. Just the final. I loved that!
Professor Sabol was timely in her responses, always willing to help, and went the extra mile to ensure her students understood the course content. I would not hesitate to take any of her classes again.
She is a pretty solid professor and is very attenuative to her students!
The professor is very organized and there to help if you need anything. She keeps us updated in everything with announcements and all class materials are easy to access.
The most organized professor & the only one who's ever implemented an independent project for an online course so far in my academic career. I really appreciate this; however, be prepared to self-teach & (despite what the bookstore has listed) to spend about $170+ on your temporary online learning materials, even if the course is almost over with.
This was an online master class. The class was very organized and easy to follow. The assignments were sometimes difficult, but if you watched her lecture videos and did the notes, it should not be too bad.
Dr. Sabol is great. She answered any questions we had, gave us plenty of feedback, and was clear on grading. Her online class is suitable for professionals with full time jobs and balancing grad school bc of timelines and workload. She has a ton of resources on canvas to make sure you get all the needed info to be successful.
I really enjoyed Dr. Sabol's class. This was an online class, so there were no lectures per se, but she was always there to guide us through class and provide feedback on more difficult assignments. She cares about the future performance of her students in the business world. Dr. Sabol also has real world experience and was great to network with.
Good reading material and online test material were given. However had very little interaction. Eventhough she was available online for anything, I did not need to reach out to her. The online resources were enough. But anyway it would have been better, if we had few more group sessions and discussions.
Very helpful in explaining the real world use of the JASP software for analytics.
Great professor. They never replied to my emails. For me, that is important. Other than that, they were great and I would definitely take a course with this professor again.
Professor Sabol was a good professor. Whenever we needed help, all you had to do was make sure that you got in contact with her so you could receive the help that you needed.
Professor Sabol was a good professor. She made sure that if we needed help, all we had to do was get in contact with her.
Her lectures were not very engaging, but she's helpful. Not a super heavy workload for this class. The first half of the semester is very Excel heavy to prepare you for the certification exam (if you fail @ midterm, you can retake it during finals), then there's some Tableau which is fun - but she didn't teach a whole lot on how to use it.
Mrs. Sabol is a great instructor for Data 3! Her class isn't hard, but participation really matters if you want to fully understand the material. She takes the time to explain concepts clearly and is always willing to help when you need extra guidance.
I had to take this class for my degree and I'm so glad that I did! There are no tests except for an excel certification which you have 2 tries to pass and we work on homework in class in case there are any questions, which is very helpful. She will always answer whatever questions you have and guide you through the steps!
Dr. Sabol is very helpful and is willing to answer any questions you have. I would take her again.
