Horrible. Stay away from this guy. He's very hard, tests are horrid. Not very friendly, not clear, tests do not have same material as lectures. Know it all w/attitude. Hard for even a-student. Not helpful, may be sarcastic if you ask silly question. honestly, stay away
aah mitch...he is as "bla" as his empty look. He's as plain as beige and as bright as a cloudy day. He does not really teach with much excitment about the subject matter-he's simply "bla"
One of the best online courses I've taken!
Mitch went way out of his way to make sure we would succeed in the course. He provided detailed exam study guides, online resources and extra credit points. Don't get me wrong, I had to work hard in this course, but I found the course very challenging and rewarding. I'd reccomend taking a course from him. I learned a lot!
Extremely helful and really knows his stuff, If you really want to learn, his online course is a must take. His exams are tough since he tests very thoroughly. I dissagree with the previous negative comments posted here. M. Albers was extremely helpful and understanding to us summer students:)
Very disappointing - smarmy answers to emails - quizzes were extremely picky - to the point that information asked was so obtuse it was almost impossible to find in text - asked questions in online quizzes that were in another version of text, not one currently used.
Smart guy knows his stuff. He's hard to talk to. Not a favorite of mine. I've told several friends to avoid him if possible. I worked harder in his classes than any other and walked away with B's in both. Frustrating off the wall exams especially on line anatomy.
Horrible teacher. Comments to students are rude. Hard to work with and very unpleasant. I was told by this instructor that I ask stupid questions. If you must take him, take him on-line.
I learned more in this online anatomy course than I thought possible. Mr. Albers has created an extremely well orgainzed course and was always quick to respond to my questions in a timely manner.
Mitch seems to have his heart in the right place, however you are going to have to really really study. MEMORIZE. Also, show him you are interested in more than just recalling things, but truly understanding how things work. Then he'll like you.
Very helpful and personable teacher. He was fair and generous. I worked hard to ace his exams!
This class was very advanced and not for a first level anatomy.
has the knowledge but does not know how to teach and communicate with student. very up tight
A very very lazy instructor who will rather make you study 1,000 slides than teach. It is better to take an online class with another instructor than taking his class.
He loves biology - so he goes for the details. He tests on details; if it was EVER mentioned, if there is a diagram or sidebar in the book, and ESPECIALLY if he says 'this will be on the test' - KNOW it. He will help, but be prepared to do a lot of work in this class. I liked him.
The materials used for this class are very good. Mitch knows a lot about biology, although his teaching style is sometimes lacking. He does make himself available for help and also provides a lot of extra credit. If you can get yourself to study hard, you will do well, but don't rely on class time to absorb the knowledge you need to pass.
Wonderful instructor. Expects work and committment from students - many are not used to this... I learned a great deal. Really got my money's worth.
I love teachers that make me work hard, but he goes about this in a horrible way. I did not absorb info in class, as he teaches in analogies that are not helpful. Could be very rude and would not explain questions in class. If you don't understand something, he still moves on and you won't understand anything that builds on the concept. Avoid him.
GREAT TEACHER AND EASY TO FOLLOW! NO SURPRISES!
He's got a cute personality too!
This class is awesome! I learned so much! Do read the chapters in the book. All of them! YOU do this and you will get an A. I did! Do not just use notes from class to study. He expects you to study on your own. He does not spoon feed you information for tests. You have to work for a good grade.
Mitch is one of the best professors I've ever had. He is super organized and efficient. His lectures are clear and engaging. The best thing about Mitch is the way he incorporates different learning styles. There is lots of online content. If you want to do well in this class use the Thinkwell CDs.
This class was awesome. Professor Albers is very thorough but he is extremely fair. He tells good stories in class and he made himself available to ask questions. I plan to take him again for Anatomy next semester.
I took his online human biology lab last fall and it was an outstanding experience for an online lab. Nice job ALbers!
I was in the online section. His tests were not too hard, multiple choice only, and there was an extra credit exam. If you study and have an interest, you'll be fine.
This guy is the head of the Dept therefor he has no time for you period. Very arrogant. I have great respect for teacher but this guy really made me want to write something down.
took online lots of info to go over looootttsss
I took biology online with M. Albers and found it to be the most interesting and organized online coure I've taken. I highly recommend this course!
He relies very heavily on the text, treating lecture as a secondary resource. He makes no time for students and is very arrogant. He doesn't take into account other classes you might be taking, and overwhelms his students with activities and "learning tools" that do nothing at all to help.
My online anatomy course was wonderful! Mitch provided clear expectations and he assisted me a couple of times with help when I needed it. He was friendly and helpful. This was a good course.
M. Albers was extremely understanding and helpful to me this semester in getting me back on track in bio2200 while having to attend to a family issue. Without his support I would have had to drop the course. I am very greatful that he was flexible in enabling me to continue in the course while I was going through a very tough time this semester.
Online class was well organized and easy to follow. The only complaint I have is that you have to register for multiple sites and it was initially confusing if I had done them all.
I took the online course. Would not recommend it. The course is strictly from the textbook. He provides no actually lectures. The lecture slides he gives on the website are verbatum from the textbook. Chapter tests and exams always have questions that you never read in the text. Mr. Albers must put about zero work into this online course.
Mitch was alright. Not good, not terrible, just fine. He talked a lot about himself, but his anecdotes usually weren't pertinent at all. But he offered tons of extra credit and his exams were relatively easy.
Prof. Albers make you earn and work for your grade. Too many courses just spoon feed students with little effort needed to pass. I appreciated Albers for challenging me and for delvering a quality course. I worked harder in this course, but I also got a lot more out of it as well. I'd reccomend him.
Took the online lab from prof Albers and it was totally cool. I thought it was going to be lame, but the lab was presented well and I learned more that I thought I would. I Highly recommend taking it. Busy work but not a difficult course for 1 credit. Took the online lecture too.
I'm taking the online course this summer and Mitch Albers has put together a fabulous course. This is my first online course and I appreciate how Mitch teaches this course and how he makes himself available to assist students. Summer is tough buy I have been very pleased with this instructor.
Summer biology course was great! Mitch provided us with everything we needed to learn biology in a short period of time. His online exam study sessions were greatly appreciated and he was always available for help. I'd recomend taking him!
I took this class on campus and felt like it was an online course. I learned very little from his lectures, and spent a ton of time outside of class with online resources. Many students were frustrated with him and annoyed with how little he puts into his lectures and his lack of concern. I would suggest not taking his course unless it's online.
A lot of materials for an online course! Be selective. He is Ok...Read the assigned homework.
I took his online intro bio course, and the online material was impossible. Mitch always responded to emails, and made efforts to connect with the students, but stood by the online guide (which was crap, and difficult to understand even if you knew the concepts perfectly). Would not recommend the class.
Mitch is a wonderful teacher because he does a great job teaching biology so that you can understand it. You can't just memorization things to pass his class, you actually have to do some work to do well in his class. He was very accesable and fair. He has an amazing lecture materials in D2L and he is one of the better instructors I've taken.
Very clear and organized. Lots of study materials, just come and get it! The class is hard but he organized it in the perfect way
Very clear about expectations and knows what he's talking about. He's very much into his subject and knows it well. Lots of study materials and extra credit, so do the work and you'll do well. Tests are tough, but as long as you're up with the reading, you'll be okay.
Worst lecture format I've ever seen. Rather than traditional lecture with slides and notes, he tries to "integrate technology" which in principle sounds good, however in practical application is awful. I learned NOTHING from his lecture. Only way I learned was from the book. He's a nice guy, but his lectures are useless. Frustrating all around.
Mitch ia always fair and always stands up to his word. He does like to use technology, and I feel that he uses it effectively. The class is hard and I had to invest lots of time and effort. Mitch gives you many forms of support. I highly recommend buying the thinkwell video. They are nice to get that little extra help when you need it.
Took his hybrid course and was very impressed at the quality of the course. Mitch's lectures made the text come alive and understandable and made it worthwhile attending his lectures. I really loved the integration of YouTube Videos and humor in his course. Take him...you'll be glad you did.
I took his course two years ago and have now transfered to the U. I appreciate so much having taken his biology class. His teaching has helped me become a better student. I'm now majoring in biology and it's all because Mitch's teaching excited me to the field of biology. Thanks Mitch!
He teaches to many different learning styles. I took this class as a lecture. If you can't learn one way....he will have resources available to learn another way. I learned a lot. He is organized and you usually get your test results within a day. He utilized d2l very well. I recommend highly him.
Terrible. Very rigid with online test times (some of us work you know). I had to work, go to his lab until 9pm, then get home to take an exam by 10pm. Was told the exam was open at 2am so I could get it done. Spent 20 minutes lecturing about how he reconciled his religion with Biology. Avoid at all costs.
he is a great, dedicated professor,he has tries to figure out many study method and helpful tools to help students understand the concepts and visualize what they are studying. He also perform many helpful mini sessions before each exam
Must be very self-directed in order to succeed in online lab. Some of the links he posts for resources (on which the class relies heavily) are old or broken. Unfortunately when I emailed him about these issues, I was told that he couldn't control what the outside sites did (duh), and that he was too busy to fix the links. Rather disappointing.
Seriously dudes this bro is hot. Beyond that, he’s got a good teaching style and really makes you want to learn more about biology. He’s passionate about the subject and you wanna be there. Oh, this isn’t really relevant but he used to be a pro race car driver!
I took over 70 credits at MCTC to prepare me to transfer to the U of M. I can honestly say his course prepared me for my program more than any other course I have taken. I highly recommend his course as he challenges you to think critically and to understand complex processes that you will need to succeed when you leave MCTC. I highly recommend.
This class was super easy. I mean HS biology class easy. The more you understand, usually the more boring and pointless it is to show up to class. I attended 9 days of lecture besides exam days and got an A. Mitch was very helpful, and always made time to answer questions. He gives a lot of learning tools to accommodate dif. learning styles.
Mitch is a great guy, however he seems like a very lazy professor. His presentions are unclear and disorganized. Also, be prepared for many stories off subject, having nothing to do with the material making you unprepared for exams.
Quite possibly the most useless lecture time ever, very little time spent on material. Be prepared to watch many youtube videos and hear personal stories that go no where. Terrible. DOES NOT PREPARE YOU FOR THE EXAMS!! Extremely disappointed and frustrated!
i heard that he is good and took the class for that reason, but now i can say i was totally wrong. His exams are difficult, and during the lecture he doesn’t explain anything and not clear. i didn't take his online because i though lecture is more helpfll but now i wish that i didn't take it with him or at least took it online
Avoid this prof. If you must take his class, try to do it online. His lectures are useless, he likes to go off on irrelevant subjects and they don't prepare you for his impossible exams. He can also be inconsiderate and rude. The class average for the first two exams was in the "D" range. He said he "expected" that. Overall poor quality.
Mitch is extremely inconsistant with expectations, clarity, and is far from helpful. It took him three weeks to respond to an email, his office hours are twice a week for a half hour, he is condescending and presents an absolutely useless lecture. Several students lodged complaints to the dean. Avoid his lecture, take it online.
Lecture was very weak. Tries so hard to incorporate technology into the lecture that actual teaching is lost. STUDY THE TEXT AND YOU WILL BE FINE. Unless you struggle with a concept disregard the copious amount of extra materials, it will just bog you down and confuse you.
I took his hybrid course and coming to class was just waste of time. he also like to talk about himself a lot.
taking an online biology in summer is rally hard thing, but the worst is if the teacher is not helpful. I really hated this class, and I wouldn't recommend anyone to this professor or taking bio in summer.
Mitch was really helpful and provided grade resources, he went into detail explaining things better when he was asked and he was clear, patient and respectful. I enjoyed taking his class over the summer much better with him than the first time I took Chemistry during the spring semester.
Struggled so much with this professor. I had to teach this whole biology course to myself :(
Terrrrrrible. He is arrogant, unhelpful and just lazy. Mitchs' inconsistency should be questioned if he even prepares his exams and assignments. Mitch also over loads you on material to the point where you no longer know which to study. Unfortunately, he is the only choice, so make due. You only need the book.
As much as Mitch would try to mae the test hard, you can still go through with him. Just put an effert to his class. Don't lay back, you got to deal with the it.. Wish you good luck.
He is a good teacher and little strict. If you read your text books and get home work done in time you will be all right. He is always willing to help and answer your questions. He also makes the class interesting.
Absolute worst teacher I've ever had. Was not clear at all in which material to use to study. Very unhelpful when asked questions, and not in a timely manner. I hardly learned anything because I was too busy being confused. Never again will take one of his classes.
It is a very hard class. You will ask to read and study from so many different sources, and the exam is completely different from what you have learned.
Poor instructor, questions on the exams are copied from the different sources but not from the textbook. Even if you know the material you will be very confused and messed up on the exam!!!
Not clear on what to study for the tests and quizzes. Too board of materials to study from. Not a really nice teacher and is hard to talk to. Had a C in class do to the boost in my lab section. :/ Try to avoid taking him if you can.
bio 2200, Summer online. I think he is sensitive and can't accept blame.I missed an exam, careful to be brief in email, take full accountability for the mistake, and reference my difficulty in a undetailed way. This was well received and he was gracious. There was a lot riding on this for me. Would he watched me flounder if I blamed him?I'd say Yes
Mitch offers a great deal of material to study. Experiment and find what works for you but don't try to take it all in. Just reading the chapters in time is a lot. Practice tests in D2L and Mastering Bio were extremely helpful, a lot of the test questions came from there. Easy to over think the test questions. Get ahead, stay ahead.
The main issue I have with his tests are the lack of time he gives students. Especially for individuals who English is their second language, 65 minutes for 50 toughpoorly worded questions is ridiculous. His review sessions are not helpful at all.
Took Principles of Bio. The lectures cover broad topics about the chapter, while his tests are very specific and confusing. There are not many chances for extra credit, but when there are, take advantage of it!! He is great at delivering study resources, but the amount is overwhelming.
Expect to drop all your other classes just to study for this course. Bad teacher, broad, average on exams were D's, difficult exams and has no sympathy for students. Will not reply to emails if you ask for something
Dont take online bio 2200 because you wont learn anything. he gives 60 min to answer 51 questions. I think lecture would have been better. P.S. I am bio major
Terrible teacher. He does not care about his students success. I emailed him once for help and he simply replied "good luck". I would not recommend him to any student.
Going in to the class I was very nervous due to hearing all bad things about him as a professor. Im now almost done with the semester and I have no idea what they all thought. Yes you have to study lots for this course but its college, the tests are hard but not if you study and give it your all. He is a great professor!
Mitch is a great professor! He knows what he's talking about and provides SO MANY study resources. He also seems boring at first, but he can be pretty funny at times. Reading the book before lecture and doing the homework is ESSENTIAL for understanding the material. This isn't an easy class, but also not impossibly difficult with some effort.
He gives you overwhelming study sources, but consider them as aids. If you read the chapter, do the h/w and understand, you can ignore everything else. Lots of reading, but this was one of the easiest courses I've taken. He went above and beyond for our class by organizing extra review sessions on top of what was on the syllabhs. 9/10.
I worked hard for the A I received. Albers provided many resources to succeed.
Excellent Professor, really communicates well what he knows and wants you to learn. Great lab instructor as well. Very good sense of humor. As for the classwork, DO YOUR PEARSON HOMEWORK, it will get you through. In regards to the exams, the homework is a good guide of the concepts he'll be focusing on in the tests. Got an A. Fun Class.
I suggest you take him in the summer. It goes by quick BUT he doesn't make you do as much work as regular semesters. We skipped doing the lab reports for all the labs except for the last lab which was great. Although he didn't drop anything he did let us take 2 online exams and we had the option to retake the final online at the end. I gotta B
At first he provided what seemed like an overwhelming about of resources but I quickly discovered that he just wanted to ensure that all student received the level of help they needed.
Tests, lab, and mastering homework make the majority of the grade in this course. Ample opportunity for extra credit, clear grading criteria, rounded my 79.8 to a B, which is a gpa lifesaver! Just be prepared to read the chapter every week and do the homework/prelab a couple days to a week early and you should do fine! Mitch is awesome! A+!!!
Overall, very good teacher. Not amazing, but good. I'd say his only drawback is that his lectures are SUPER boring with his monotone voice. Read the textbook, do the homework, don't skip class. Also, the only reason I ended up with an A instead of a B was because of extra credit! ;)
He spends a ton of time on irrelevant things in lecture and doesn't cover the information that will be on the test. You will have to read and remember every inch of the textbook, since the exams seem to be built from tiny details in illustrations rather than understanding the concepts. :( Nice guy; awful teacher.
Okay teacher. His lectures are nothing to hit home with. But it is a lot better to take him online than in person as he does provide a lot of resources to understand Biology. I learned a lot better online than I did in person. Really wish his lecture exams were clear and concise as to what he truly wanted us to study for so we could best prepare.
I thought this professor did a really good job considering it was an online class. He provided a lot of resources for us to study and learn from. The exams were definitely a challenge, though. There's also a lot of homework that feels a bit monotonous and doesn't always help you out with what's on the exam.
Regardless of the professor, any intro-level biology course is information dense and requires a dedicated student in order to pass. With that being said, Professor Albers goes above and beyond to cater to every student's learning type. He offers ample extra credit options, and is very approachable. His lectures can sometimes ramble, but enjoyable!
I loved taking this class. The professor was definitely very helpful throughout the semester!!
Be aware that the at the end of the term if you lecture grade is not a C then you won't pass the class even if your lab is better makes your grade above a C. Also, you won't know what to actually study for as the study guides are worthless. Essentially you are going in blind for a test. The prof also has a 50% rate
He is a good person but It was really hard for me. He seems to love Biology but as a teacher his explanations are confusing. I felt lost during his lectures and lab. He will teach assuming that you already know the subject.
He seems to enjoy Biology but as a teacher he is really hard to explain his ideas, he doesn't know how to pass his knowledge. I took this class because I didn't have another option of instructor. To be honest I felt so lost during his lectures and lab. I passed in his class but I got super stressed and confusing. Be prepared to study by yourself.
I liked the guy and he was an easy grader for labs and homework but his test questions are not straight forward. They are worded in a confusing and difficult way so if you're not an expert in BIO as he is, and you're studying the ideas and concepts and definitions it just won't be enough. Study guides didn't help and no review of tests was poor.
He makes you do all the learning on your own. Just posts tons of videos.
Love Mitch, this was a fun intro class to take and he did a good joking of trying to help al the students get as. good of a grade as they possibly could. He really cares how you do in the class and wants to help you succeed.
Horrible, please stay away from this professor! Basically you teach yourself tests are hard worded and study guides are worthless! Lecture times are a waste of time as he talks about irrelevant things! You will learn nothing with this awful guy, grading policy sucks! Huh the worst pro I have ever had!!!
Bio intro so soo many information to learn. Mitch comes off tough, hard grader but he gives students tons of opportunities to earn good grade. He has ton of extra credits that literally adds up. If you pay attention in class, do all the extra credits & assignments. You will fine. To succeed in this class, you need to be active learner.
Dr. Albers provides you with what will feel like an overwhelming amount of information but don't let that intimidate you. He provides as much information as he can to accommodate different learning styles. You don't need to use everything he provides just what you find useful. He is very interested in seeing you succeed.
Doesn't like talking to students( maybe I'm just too ugly), stern, serious, strict, emotionless, like to make his opinion loud and clear, mean. Just your typical man. They're all the same.
Even though I received a C, Im not mad because I didnt studied as much as should have. He provides lots of resources for your success. Goes over lab+makes everything clear. I studied all the important concepts and topics well, which is a problem because his exams tends to contain more of the little things. Great ebook. Extra credits!GiveHimAChance!
He was very clear on everything. He is a provider and we were given all the things that we needed to succeed. The rest is on us. Stern but fair and give chances with extra credits. I would take him again but he doesn't teach the biology class that I needed to take. Love the fish tanks in his lab.
The detailed lecture notes that he makes are literally all you need. He has links to 10 to 40 videos in them. Which can add up to a few hours of watching. But! If you watch them all you WILL learn what you need to. I wish all teachers were this helpful
He provides a TON of resources which can be overwhelming but dont panic over it, he posts these in d2l for resources especially for those with different learning techniques. His lectures can sometime not cover everything that needs to be For the chapter, but its not hard to study that on your own. He was incredible during covid, such a support!
I just started having this teacher for Biology, and man he absolutely is doing THE MOST for lab exercises. It feels like gym class but not even gym class is this much. It sucks, and he is not respectful towards his students if you have something different to say about his syllabus.
My life was okay before taking this class. If you like your life, do not take it! I am currently in it and he does not explain things well. He expects you to know everything and if you ask a question or email him, he acts like you're dumb. If you're expecting a professor that cares for his students, that is NOT HIM.
While he has a lot of resources posted for this class, he does very little teaching himself. Many of the ideas in this class are NOT discussed in the lectures. I spent 90% of the time teaching myself this class. Really disappointing given how much money goes into tuition. Find another biology professor if you can.
Find someone else. Honestly one of the worst professors I've ever had. He doesn't know how to explain things well. The exams cover information he doesn't go over in lectures. You can try to email him, but he usually responds like you're dumb.
He is one of the worst professors I've experienced. Over the top for the labs and it is only 5 points. There is no teaching going on, just links and assignments being tossed your way. And if you ask or help, you'll get the "study harder" response. He has no means being a professor! He seemed happy that almost everyone had a C or lower on the exam!
Where to start... I've taken several science classes before, but his is by far the worst. I've studied for hours for his tests, used his study guides, and other videos, but still struggle. I'm learning more from tutors than him. If you email him about questions he makes you feel stupid for even asking them. Don't take his class at all costs.
So he's the type of professor that tosses a ton of videos and papers at you and calls it teaching. The labs are also beyond long. Wouldn't say hard, just a ton of videos and readings. With everything going on, you'd expect some sympathy but no it is always "try harder". Overall I got an A but I would never take this class again or recommend it.
You'll learn more about Excel than Biology. Unless you're decent/good at Excel and great at dealing with overwhelming reading materials (That you most likely won't need) then yeah, go for it. But I wouldn't recommend it. Instructions are confusing. Expect an exam on your first week and your money spent in order to participate in class/to pass.
Professor M class is super chill. Yes, it is true that he doesn't teach you, rather he gives you other options to learn by either by watching his lecture videos, powerpoint slides or his DTN (details notes). At first I didn't like the fact that I have to learn everything by myself, but if you study from his DTN, you will pass the exams with an A.
Not sure why he has so many 1 star rating, he provides a lot of extra credits and all his exams are straight from his powerpoint slides. If you study and remembers key words, you will be fine. I don't like his labs but I would take him again, now that I know his teaching styles.
I counted down the days until I was done with this class. His exams are based on 8 different chapters (there are 3 exams like that then the final) and the only other heavy graded thing was the lab stuff. The labs were very time consuming and the quizzes after for it were somewhat difficult. Be prepared to teach yourself.
This class was okay. I really didn't like his teaching style. His D2L has a lot of resources, however it is not organized and very messy. His online labs are doable but some are very long. Watch out for the lab quizzes and make sure you read each question throughly. The first exam is easy, the rest of them you will need to study for.
Prof Albers gives you every resource you need to succeed. Responds quickly to emails. It's up to you to choose your path for how you learn the material. I tried to do everything and burned out. Skim textbook, but watch his lectures! Study and make flashcards. You'll do fine. Labs are intense and long, but helps retain knowledge for exams.
If ur online, your gonna be teaching yourself EVERYTHING. Second, he kinda sucks at explaining things in lecture. Third his class is a mess on D2L just like all fricken science instructors *side eye... Don't understand why they don't have it sorted in folders by week like other professors... Overall is a okay guy. Dont get me started on those labs.
Pt.1 Here's a helpful way to pass his class: 1) Don't read the actual chapter, too long, read the D.L.N slides. Not as much info obvi. but I passed with A only using these to learn and study, never even referred to book once I learned this method. 2) Expect 1-2-3 days doing labs. Not hard but confusing cause they DON'T relate chapters at all!
Pt. 2 4) Weekly tests (YES), Exams test questions are very detailed or broad but a good mix. WILL TEST YOU ON EVERYTHING HONESTLY. My advice, be smart about your answer use context clues from the question. Use notes when you can.5) IMPORTANT this class is ENTIRELY self-taught, his lecture videos are useless, don't waste your time. Good luck!
The labs are super interesting but the professor on the other hand is...bad. Good luck getting any questions answered because he won't tell you anything. He responds snarky and avoids questions. The exams+final are hard but with studying it's ok. You teach yourself. In class he yaps for the first hour making it impossible to finish the lab.
Mitch is a great teacher. Gives you everything you need to succeed. The Final was hard but other than that all the exams and quizzes were easy and straight forward if you read the material, watched the lectures and focused on the detail learning notes... all of which Mitch provides. Great instructor!
terrible
Don't take this class in the summer, the work load is a lot which is expected when doing a summer class but it just feels like you are constantly trying to catch up all the time, there is a lot of homework, 4 big exams and always a lab quiz and post-lab assignment. he does not drop assignments but gives some extra credit. too much reading as well.
Most of the lectures consisted of YouTube video from other educators. The final exam didn't match the study guide of 200 bullet points. He made the final exam entirely picture diagram, which made the study guide irrelevant. Asked questions on the exam that had one sentence in the textbook. You get follow-up homework of 90 questions as a punishment.
I really enjoyed Mitch as a professor, he provides many resources and extra credit. Mitch wants his students to succeed and it shows. He has a great method of teaching and is easy to listen to and understand.
Professor Albers was very understanding with my situation, and allowed me to submit things late even with his rigid structure, and gave me a clear path to catch up with. This class is hard, but it's Biology so that is to be expected. He makes it as easy as he can, but you will need to put in the proper amount of time to get a good grade.
Prof M is a hands-off instructor, but provides all the resources you need to succeed. Skim the textbook, watch the lectures, and focus on the detailed learning notes. For exam prep, use unstuck study along with other study aids like flashcards. The labs are intense but reinforce the material.
He was always available outside of class and if you reached out to him, he how do all he could to help you through. He gave thorough lectures in his flipped classes and provided great notes. Super engaging and also extremely knowledged. Had a very professional approach but also very understanding. He can be intimidating but he's easy to work with.
Worst teacher I've ever had. He is disorganized, his instructions are unclear, and has unreasonable expectations without any level of accommodations. It appears he believes he's teaching an high level course at an Ivy League University. If you have any other reasonability's other than school I would HIGHLY recommend taking another course.
He is extremely condescending with all responses, you can't see what you got wrong on a test or a quiz, D2L is a disaster, he will have you wasting your time on so many things that don't matter and if you need a teacher to teach he is NOT the one! He truly acts like he would rather be doing anything other than having to teach! STAY FAR AWAY!!
