this guy is plain awesome. Literally wrote the book on pot; so intelligent, yet hilarious. Kids that aren't even in the class go just to listen to him. Anyone with an interest in drugs will LOVE this class and this man

Amazing professor, one of the best ones here at albany, knows everyone in the classes name and the class is in the LC. tests are mult. choice/true.false.or your mama...very funny guy. easy to talk to, lectures are very understandable, he tells you whats on the test and what to study, I strongly suggest taking a class with him and as many as you can

This man is the messiah of the psychology department. He's new and amazing. Finally, someone in the psych dept who is happy and energetic, ironically enough. The drug class, WOO! Take the drug class!!! He wrote a book on pot.

He was probably the best teacher I ever had. In an LC he tried to remember our names. Enthusiastic, comedic, brilliant. Going to class was a comedy hour while learning. I reccomend this class to everyone.

This was the best class I have ever taken and there were some very immature people in the class who do not appreciate a good teacher. If that is your case then stick to the boring professors that will make you fall asleep in class and stop ruining it for the rest of us. He is brilliant and makes the class as fun as can be!!

He is, by far, one of my favorite teachers I have had here. He's funny and makes class interesting. I love his stories and the pictures he has on his slides. His tests aren't THAT easy but they aren't hard. I would definitely recommend having for a teacher, no matter what subject :)

There's a lot of "BeSt ClAss EVA!!!11" here, but not enough real info... He really is a very good teacher, I actually enjoyed going to class. Don't mistake that with the class being easy. It's easy to pass (or get a B) , but it is pretty hard to get a solid A. Throws in a few tough questions in each test, but also a bunch of obvious ones.

most interesting class ive taken. told the truth about drugs and what they do to you, not just the whole "drugs are bad" speech. i learned more in this class than in almost any other class ive taken

Fun class, although attendence is not necessary, you will want to go to class. Levinthal was a useless book, His book "Understanding Marijuanna" was insightful. Easy tests, but he does not curve.

Dr. Earleywine is by far the best professor that I have ever had. A message to the fragile woman student who constantly complained about the occasional use of profanity, grow up, you're not living in you're parents basement anymore. I don't know what you're parents taught you about adulthood but they failed miserably.

Best teacher ever!! The class is so interesting, had to take my boyfriend to class just so he could see who I was always talking about. The tests are not that easy, however he does explain everything you need to know, and does curve.You actually want to go to class!!!

dr. earleywine is a good teacher. he highlights all the important information in lecture, and the tests were relatively easy. one test he gave a 16 point curve. that's my definition of a good class.

Dr. Earleywine = LEGEND and G.O.A.T. This was my second course with Dr. Earleywine and he is the best professor at UAlbany. He makes learning fun and it was my privilege to be a part of his class. Take any and all courses instructed by Dr. Earleywine.

He is da MAN!! His use of profanity is generally for good humor and keeps your attention, I once counted the "f" word used 15+ times in one class. I am so going to use his teaching style when I become a TA, and hopefully not get into trouble.....

It is one of the few classes I really don't mind going to because he makes the material so intersting and relates it to student experiences. Tests are sort of easy if you study. It is not required to go to class, but highly recommended. He tells you what slides wont be on the test and it's interesting anyway! TAKE THIS CLASS

Great teacher! Great class! If you can’t do well in his class you’re just not that bright, that’s easy. If you didn’t like his class you’re either ummm… not that bright (see above) or just have no sense of humor. lol

This teacher opened my eyes. He tells it how it is and allows the student to make their own judgments on the material. He is highly engaging and shows a true passion for the material. Plus he is hilarious. Best professor I've ever had.

Earlywine is great. Seriously you go to class and it's a drug expo. If you dont like drugs or dont want to learn about them and there effects, dont take the class. Also if you dont like swearing take something else. But for the normal portion of people, he is the man ... Best 3 of 4 tests ... so easy

Someone needs to reiterate that you do not need to be a druggie to enjoy this class. Dr. Earleywine is an excellent teacher and an even greater person. He is without a doubt the best professor I've had at Albany.

Out of the 40 people that rated professor Earleywine, only 3 were overall negative. I bet all 3 of those people are tools. Anyways not only is he a great teacher, but he's one of the only faculty members at UAlbany that cares about students outside the classroom, and at a Univesity that is notorious for**** faculty members I think thats impressive

I took Earlywine's class 8-9 years ago at the University of Southern California and nearly a decade later, I still use his teachings every day. He taught me how to think about my body and the world around me in a way nobody else had. Outstanding, funny, joyful, educational. Top 5 all-time professors!!

Addictive and Compulsive Behaviors should be a mandatory class for every psych major...as long as it is taught by Mitch Earleywine. He is an amazingly intelligent, upbeat and straight-forward teacher. Just the right amount of everything to make this class interesting, yet still challenging enough to keep your brain on.

Entertaining, yet disorganized, and moderately mixed in his receptiveness. Going to class for the jokes isn't enough; you've got to listen, learn, read, and review. He says this at the beginning of class, but it's easy to forget. Very knowledgeable, all the same, and I respect him as much as I enjoyed his class. Highly recommended, for sure.

nice guy. class is supposed to be about addictive and compulsive behaviors but is really only about drugs. read the textbooks they provide the bulk of information. i thought tests were pretty easy but you do have to study. if nothing else, he is hilarious.

This class was a great choice for me. Mitch makes the class interesting and also fun. He is very personable. The class is NOT an easy A however. you have to READ THE BOOK and attend lecture. Other than that he makes a conscious effort to keep the class involved and gives pretty straight forward outlines for his tests

he is by far the best. yes, you have to read the textbook and actually do some work but he doesnt shock you with questions - it's all in the lectures or textbook. he's great with answering emails and gets to know people on a personal level despite the huge LC - take the class.

Amazing..I was part of his first class at Albany..Easy if you just listen and study notes-but half of Albany has trouble attending class let alone studying vs. a night of partying. He learned all 200 f our names. Was there for us in times of need.

everyone loves this guy - he is really cool. keeps class fun and interesting. however his tests are hard... attendance is not required but if you want to do well it is. if you show up, pay attention, take notes and actually understand what he says (don't just re-read the slides and call that studying) you'll do fine.

Hilarious professor. His lectures are an hour long stand up comedy act. No matter what the course catalog names it each year, this is a class about drugs and we're all college students so you can keep yourself interested. If not, attendance isn't mandatory and most of the material is in the book or on the ERes.

Used to be everybody's favorite but I think he's getting burned out. Funny and organized and energetic and explains things well but not that outstanding like everybody used to say. Going on sabbatical so he might come back good again.

I think that Earleywine is a very nice person, bu I hated his class. It's not that he was uninteresting, it's just that I found the class to be boring. Earleywine does appeal to most people though, so check him out. There is no doubt in my mind that he is a professor of the highest quality.

He is a great professor, one of the best at UA. His classes are always interesting but don't let that fool you, you NEED to read and study for his exams. He is willing to help and makes sure he gets to know all of his students. I would recommend him but STUDY!

Loved the class, i looked forward to going every time. Very funny guy, you need to take notes or at least look at them online. if you just skim the chapters you should be fine on the tests, they were easy

Earleywine has a ton of experience and knowledge on this topic and psychology in general. This is one of the few classes I actually look forward to going to, I've learned so much and it's interesting stuff. He tries to relate to the students and is really laid back. Tests are tough but if you go to class and listen it's pretty straight forward.

Known as "drug class" this course was pretty awesome. Earleywine is really funny and makes the material very clear. Tells you exactly what is going to be on test. I will admit i got bored of the class after test 2 out of 4 but still managed a B.

Mitch is awesome and his lectures are hilarious. If you go to class he rewards you by telling you some of what will be on the tests. The tests are 50 multiple choice questions and only 3 answer choices (a,b,c) which is great. Tests aren't as easy as I thought they would be though, so don't take this class lightly!

Thoroughly enjoyed going to class. Extremely entertaining. If you attend lectures you will pass.

This class was the best!! Earleywine is hilarious and always knows how to keep the classes attention! He usually plays a 'kahoot' after every lecture and 90% of the questions on there are on the test! I got an A, you will too if you take him!!!

Makes a lot of jokes about the class/lectures, sometimes goes too far in what he says. Would go to class for clarification on slides. Points out tests questions/what he thinks are the most important points. Tests are really straightforward, as long as you know what slides to study. Need the textbook (loose-leaf one mainly) b/c of test questions

AMAZING HILARIOUS DUDE. His classes are great. He teaches in a clear and concise way. He makes you want to go to class. Keeps it interesting. 85-90% of what he lectures is on the test, the rest you will find by reading the textbook. Probably should study if you want to do good. There are 4 tests, and he drops the lowest one. Overall a great class.

He manages to keep the class interested through out the lecture and you don't even realize that you are learning. He is easy to reach out to if there are any questions and is always willing to help the students do better. Listen to his lectures and study. Would highly recommend taking his class.

Drug class! Wooo! Earleywine is a legend. It's a very fun class and he's hilarious. You can tell that he loves what he does. Beware his tests though. It seems so easy, but you'll double take at your grade thinking "did I really get a 60?" I learned so much though, it was worth the B+. Do yourself a favor and get the books, they really help.

But, don't worry since there are 5 tests, and the lowest one is dropped. He is/was a total stoner and his class was always interesting. He's a great psych professor. Only graded by five multiple choice tests. Graded by your best 3 of 4 exams so that can be good if you're a test taker. No homework, nothing else. The lowest test grade is dropped, and the final is not cumulative. He offers some extra credit opportunities in different ways. His Kahoots are the way to salvation in class
