He's a pretty decent lecturer. He doesn't strike me as the most approachable of professors, but when he explains things it class, at least it makes sense. His exams are tricky. He expects you to know concepts instead of details, but somehow, his exams end up being pretty difficult. Expect to study a decent amount to get the grade you want.

Unorganized. Near the second half of the quarter, no one knew what he or she was doing because Singer would modify the protocol. Grades come from a midterm and a final, plus 4 reports based off the labs. Explanations are horrible for certain assignments. Singer seems "edgy" at times, which makes him hard to approach for help. Free pizza at end.

He is not that hard as many people say. He explains stuff at a very fast pace. Be prepared to write fast and take notes as he says in classes. Overall, just study and know the concepts. If you are lucky enough to have old midterms and final, you should be fine. If you cant get ones, just study a little bit harder.

Okay, here's the thing. Singer is a horrible lecturer, we get that. His power points are almost completely useless if you don't go to class and try to learn from that. If you like biology itself and have an actual, earnest interest for the subject, you will be fine. Most students taking this have taken some sort of bio before, so it's nothing new.

worst attitude I've seen from a professor. lectures are very surface level, and readings are very deep in detail. use his lectures as overviews. Take another professor! He makes it clear he does not care about his students telling them directly to their faces in class, someone asks him to put captions on the screen because we couldn't understand him (bro thinks hes a rapper) & he said no, extremely disorganized, review session was pointless. You ask a question he repeats what you said back.
