The professor is a cool guy and made the class interesting. The material isn't easy so homework and attendance is a must to pass the class. Overall, great class!
Course is difficult though Bruckner's explanations were very straightforward and thorough. A wonderful lecturer who uses dry humor and good-old sarcasm to keep the class interesting. Very approachable! I look forward to taking him for Tax !
If you're just starting out in tax, this is where you need to be! This prof is very approachable and makes the class interesting. There are 5 quizzes and 3 exams, read the book (yes every page of every chapter assigned) and you'll do fine. He allows a 1 page (front only) hand written cheat sheet on exams. Federal tax is very detailed so don't skim!
Professor was easy to listen to and not dull! Had a lot of resources to help you. Stay on top of the homework and it will help you retain the material. 3 exams online and a Cumulative final. Nice guy.
Had a great time in this class. His lectures in class help you do the homework and the homework helps you do well on the tests. He also makes accounting, which can be dull at times, an interesting class with some funny punchlines and dry humor.
Definitely not my favorite professor. I found him to be rude, condescending, and not helpful. However, he did give extra credit and did not keep us in class the whole time. I do not recommend him since he is unapproachable and had no idea who any of us were.
I'm currently taking this class. Professor is great, he gives good examples that help you understand the material. Make sure you do the learn smart and homework assignments every point counts. He gives random extra credit so be sure to attend class and not skip out when you're there.
Not sure how I feel about this guy. Quite passive aggressive and sometimes rather unapproachable. Can have a good sense of humor and does give a considerate amount of extra credit. Talked a bit fast during lectures sometimes and the tests are HARD. Knows his stuff. Overall, I'd say he is fair.
Its online so you don't have to attend but it is really helpful to watch. He goes through his PowerPoint's too fast, but he always stops to make sure you understand the concepts. The learnsmarts and home works are easy points so I suggest doing them until you get 100%. Overall, great professor. I recommend taking him!
Overall the class was easy, but if you take it during the summer you SPEED through the material. Be prepared for the tests, they're harder than you'd expect them to be. For the current textbook MAKE SURE you have chapters 1&2 down absolutely COLD or you're going to be completely lost.
This class was very difficult and you can expect to study for long hours and do lots of homework. I took it during summer and it was very fast paced. He is very clear and does practice questions after the lectures which really helps get an understanding for the material. He is tough but he does care and wants to see his students pass.
He gives a lot of EC but you have to actually study too. The homework gives you another chance for the first fe chapters only but it's not too tough, just long at times. Would take again
Awesome, awesome, awesome. Love this man he gives extra credit, lectures are interesting, gives great examples, reviews prior to all exams and curves!!
I made the mistake of taking accounting 2 over the summer in a six week timeframe but professor Bruckner was able to motivate me and his lectures didn't put me to sleep like most accounting lectures do. This class was one of the hardest that I have taken but by some miracle, I passed this class. You read a lot, I suggest purchasing owl tutoring too
Class wasn't difficult with him, but you must be present. If you skip, it will be hard to pass not to say you're not gonna pass. He keeps you awake when he is explaining the material and lets you go early. Even if you get D or F in the 3 exams that he gives, you still gonna pass the class, but do not rely on this to do not make an effort.
He's hard, but passable. You'll definitely learn more than any other tax class with him. 1/3 of the class didn't finish the first test. He can be intimidating when you ask questions, but his lectures are PACKED with useful information. My advice: do the practice problems and if you can't figure them out, read the sections relating to them.
This class is not easy to say the least. Exams are super difficult. I took both Accounting 1 and 2 with him over the summer and he makes you work for your grade. The homeworks help SO MUCH. I got a D on both exams, ended up with a B. Going to lecture helps so much to really understand the material.
I was really disappointed at this class. He has a lack of respect of helping kids. I emailed him almost 10 times asking for advice/extra help and got not one answer. He sends only 2 emails a class, one at the beginning and one at the end. Basically, if you want to learn accounting with no help from an actual accountant take this class.
Took him in summer term 3 (6 week course). 10 chapters, 20 hmwk assignments, 2 test (midterm+final). The only advantages of this class were that the tests were not cumulative and the grading system bruckner uses is lenient (get a D+ on both tests and 100% on homework gives you a B in the class). No extra credit.
Took financial with Bruckner this summer. Got an F and a C on the two exams and still got a B in the class. His lectures can be rather dry but informative. I recommend going to class because he goes over a lot of great examples. Doing the homework and the learnsmart modules are essential to pass. I would recommend Bruckner to anyone.
I would not recommend this guy to anyone who cares about their accounting gpa. Getting an F is an average grade in the section I took. Hw's are nothing like the exam questions. He gave no study guide for the exams and is reluctant to post hw solutions. The good reviews on here are probably him talking himself up! STAY AWAY!!!
Great professor. Professor's lectures are always engaging and easy to follow. Tests can be difficult so reading his power points and textbook are key for this class. Curved overall class grade and gave 2 grade boosting project assignments.
This class is not easy but he will present the material well in class and teach you it. He is open and friendly to answering questions. Get ready to do a lot of homework, his assignments are time consuming and sometimes very frustrating. He does not give study guides for the exams but lets you use one formula sheet which I found helpful.
Good professor, funny, not boring to listen to. Do all the online homework and give some effort on tests and you will pass. Not a walk in the park class but not an easy subject
He assigns lots of homework so be ready to spend hours doing it. I got almost a 100% on every assignment I did. But that was not even enough to pass the class. Homeworks is 40% of your grade while the midterm and final make up 60%. So all those countless hours you spent doing homework mean nothing if you do poorly on the exam. Also, he's rude.
Great teacher and great class. I took the 6 weeks summer class with him and all I can say is be prepared to work. Lots of homework and reading. It is important to understand all the chapters because they build off each other. Got a C and an F on the 2 exams and passed the class with a B. Also, do your homework on time and try to get a 100% on it.
Bruckner was a good professor. Yes, he can be sarcastic and, at times, rude but he is also open to answer questions. 1st half of class is concepts, 2nd is practice problems. Chapters build off each other. Be sure to do the LS since it's due when class starts as well as the HW. Exams are closed book but just rewatch the lectures to study for them.
Hard subject, but if you watch all of the lectures and do the reading/homework you should have no problem getting an A.
This class was not easy by any means, however if you do all of the homework you will absolutely pass. Took this class over the summer, the 6 week course. There are multiple homework assignments a week. I got a D on both the midterm and the final but barely missed a B grade because of how the homework is scored.
Took the 6 week course for summer. He doesn't communicate well with students by any means. Homework was okay. The test are pretty challenging. He gives no lead on what its about or what it'll be on. I ended the course with a C- I needed 10 points for C. I was told there will be a curve then I get my grade back with no change. Very misleading prof
I took this 6 week class over the summer and it was a complete disaster. You can't use formula sheets, books or notes on exams. Homework takes up way too much time to complete. This is by far the worst professor at FAU!! Do yourself a favor and take another professor. I use to love Accounting but this class made me change my mind!
Prof. Bruckner was a decent professor. Do all of the homework, LS and watch the lectures and you should end with a decent grade. I was hoping for a curve as I was only a few points away from an A. Didn't happen. Considering how boring Accounting can be he did a great job of explaining the material.
Very good professor. I took the 6 weeks summer class so the material is condensed and quickly covered but he did a great job explaining and teaching. I had the option to view the lectures online so I never physically went to class. Lots of homework including learnsmarts for each chapter due before each lecture and accounting homework.
I enjoyed this class, I took the 6 weeks lecture capture version over the summer and it wasn't too hard, just do the learnsmarts and connect assignments and review your notes for the exams.
Good teacher for cost. we have a weekly 5 min quiz , and 3 tests each test has two parts, multiple choice and free hand. he gives us practice problems with solutions (not from book) and he gives extra credit/curves. he is also funny/easy going and usually we get out of class early. pearson is optional. a 90% final grade is an A for his class.
Mitchie is fantastic!! This course is very difficult but if you put in the work you will be fine. Class consisted of a weekly 5 Q quiz on 1 chapter, lecture, then a day for problems/questions. Highly recommend reading/outline chapter before class. Gave lots of extra credit and feedback on tests. Wish he taught every course!!!
Cost is one of the hardest accounting classes you will take. Bruckner is a great instructor and lectures. He keep the subject interesting. There is a quiz everyday on the chapter he is going to lecture on so read the chapter before hand. The test are half multiple choice and half written response. Study the handouts he gives out. plenty of ec avail
Took his 6 week lecture capture class in summer. Did not teach the class very well wasn't specific about material he taught. The book never really helped either. Tests are hard af and not allowed to use notes or textbook.
I took him for ACG 2021 and ACG 2071. He's kinda rude and dry, but he does know what he's teaching. I made the mistake of waiting until right before the tests to watch all the lectures so I didn't do very well on them, but I did all the homework on time so I got the two C's I needed. He is a good teacher but I had a hard time still. Tests are hard!
I took his video streaming summer course. The homework and learn smarts were an easy 200 points and it gave you hints to help you get each question correct. The midterm and final were based off of the non graded practice quizzes he provides on mcgrawhill so i recommend doing them and you' definitely get an A in the class and it was a tough course.
more about getting through material quickly than teaching kids. lot of independent work
So dry and rude. He knows the material and follows the syllabus but is disrespectful and goes over the questions only if he feels like. Also, responds to email based on how important it seems. Either right away or days later.
Bruckner cares about his students but accounting is a hard class. Exams are proctored online and a great amount of this class is having trouble trying to pass. Barely passing with a C.
He is not a bad professor. He gives 3 exams and as long as you do all of the homework, you don't have to do very well on the exams to pass. The class itself is a lot but he's not a bad guy. Use the review and practice homework to study and you will do fine
Professor Bruckner is very good. He knows the material and makes his expectations clear. If you don't study, you won't pass. As easy as that. I did not do so well on my first exam because I got too comfortable. The rest have been great since I actually study. Plus he gives extra credit opportunities!
Makes the exams unnecessarily difficult while not really preparing the class for them.
Class is no joke.
The most rude individual, don't bother asking him questions, take a different professor trust me
Hes a jerk. Kept blaming it on the students saying your scores on your exams reflect your knowledge yet the majority of us do not know what hes talking about. We felt confident and worked hard on the homework and worked hard but come test day most people struggled and took horrible grades. He said the majority did well, lies. Dont take him.
Very good professor! His lectures are amazing. Just study, watch the lecture, and do the practice homework and you should get an A. He is not very nice when it comes to emails, so try not to do that.
Professor Bruckner knows the material and conveys it well to students. Accounting is a hard class and I took this during accelerated summer term online. You should watch the lectures because he explains it much easier than the book does. I enjoyed this class!
Worst online class! He would give some lectures 2 days before exams, and gave no direction on what to study. It seemed as if he could care less about teaching. Never gave examples or showed how to do anything. just explained a few things from the book. Basically taught myself.
Very rude. Will not help you with any issues. No notes
He is absolutely the worst. Frequently comes off as condescending and arrogant when students don't immediately understand complex concepts that he views as simple from his perspective. Terrible communication skills. I would give this man a zero if the website allowed me to.
Took him this summer for both financial and managerial accounting and absolutely loved it! Not a fluffy lecturer- gets on and says what he needs to say but he only tests on what he talks about. If you can take him for either class, definitely do it!
All the comments about this professor being condescending are correct. Asking a question is like pulling teeth. The professor responds with rude clap backs about how YOU should know this already. Horrible horrible horrible. Avoid if you can, because truly not worth listening to his negative comments. It makes you hate an already hard class.
the fact that this man never answers an email, he reads off the slides, doesnt give a test review of the any of the chapters, he assigns a 10 question homework that doesnt cover all the material in the chapter. He doesnt provide extra practice. . HIS AWFUL DONT TAKE HIM
There are no formulas and the textbook is not allowed on exams. Do not take this class with Bruckner! Very unrealistic expectations.
Probably one of the hardest classes I had in a minute. You can't use notes or formula sheets on the exams, everything has to be straight out your forehead. I would recommend studying hard, I wouldn't recommend taking this class with any other hard class like Philosophy or anything that you know you will have to allocate a lot of time to.
His lectures are easy to follow and he answers any questions students have. He also gives you unlimited tries on the HW so you're guaranteed to get 100 on those. But his tests are SO HARD. Always closed book, no formula or cheat sheets so if you can't memorize everything you're screwed. And no extra credit.
Great at teaching. And he does not goof off during the lectures. Do not take this class if you think the Summer class just a piece of cake. Make sure you have time for this class other than lecture time. The most difficult class I have ever been taking but I enjoy challenge my brain.
Such a difficult class!!! Text him during the lecture to ask questions, and he will reply either in class or right after class.
Please Avoid This Man, Hard Content & Disrespectful. Caused me so much breakdowns in taking this class & have to retake it. 3 exams for 60% & other stuff is 40% its hard asf to get a C w/ that grading. If u love ur mental health & wellbeing don't take him unless u have to, he will not curve or willing to meet u half away even when u are trying.
While this course is already difficult, this professor makes it much harder to pass on on top of its difficult curriculum. Students are expected to memorize 2-4 full chapters per exam with no help as this professor does not care about his students and their grades. Lots of homework that takes hours to complete does not correlate to exams.
He does not care!!! There are no notes, no open book, no cheat sheets for exams and his lectures are exhausting. If you ask him to go over something once more he doesn't care he will just say your loss and keep moving. He doesn't want to help his students succeed.
He is a not budge, no extra credit, no joy type. He will not email right away so he has two TA's to delegate. The lectures are informative and it'll all be on the exam. Take extensive notes, do the homework, maybe even the practice work too. There is online tutoring and in-person tutoring too. Exams are honor locke with the camera so study well.
The class is all based off the book. He makes overly very long closed book exams. Seems irritated by everything. He notifies us on Canvas for everything except the exams. For the first exam, 7+ students missed it because he sent us 0 emails, 0 notifications. I dread going to his class as he's not a joy to listen to or learn from.
Worst professor I've ever experienced in my 4 year college journey by far. Plz hire someone else. He doesn't have 1 care in the world for any of his students and will be a sarcastic snob to you if 'bothered' by email. Speechless by his attitude and methods.
so much hw that has nothing to do with the exams. exams are closed everything, youre not even allowed to have a formula sheet which makes the tests even more difficult. this professor has a huge ego and laughs at students who dont understand immediately. i aced accounting 1 but had a very difficult time in this class cause the prof doesnt care.
Horrid professor, avoid at all costs. Does not care to help students. 0 curves, 0 extra credit, 0 make-ups. By far worst class in college, not because of principles of accounting, but because of how he teaches, is as a professor, & as acts with his students
I have struggled with accounting but as long as you do all the hws you will pass. Never got higher than a C on any of the exams and passed the class. Watch the review videos before exams, they help a lot. I would recommend taking him.
I took this class online and accounting is already pretty difficult but this prof makes it so much worse. The homework doesnt correlate with the tests what so ever and theres no extra credit. He doesnt help his students at all, is rude when you email and ask questions, and just overall doesnt seem like he wants his students to succeed.
Bruckner is very knowledgeable, however his way of teaching consists of reading the powerpoints and going through the examples very fast. Even after reading the textbook and making outlines, I could never get higher than an 80 on the exams. But if you have to take him, do the homework yourself and read the textbook.. you should be fine.
I recommend him. Make sure you complete all the hws because that helps your overall grade. 3 exams no notes. Study the reviews given because they are what is on the exams.
did not like him
WARNING DON'T EVEN IF A FAMILY MEMBER IS DYING YOU WILL NOT HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE UP YOUR WORK.
Despite what others say this class is fairly easy as long as you do your work and study for the test, if you do all hw and smartbooks then your halfway there just study for test and you can pass the class with a C on each test. Professor Bruckner also gives great lectures and study guides that pretty much match what is on the tests
Even with tutoring, and watching his lectures I couldn't pass. He was definitely one of my hardest classes in college so far.
Bruckner used to be an accountant, so he definitely knows his stuff, just is not the greatest teacher. He uses Mcgraw Hill Connect for everything. The lectures are him reading the Mcgraw hill made powerpoints very fast, even though the class is dead silent every time he asks a question. I would try and get help from another professor if you get him
worst professor at FAU
If you want an easy class this is not it. If you do not watch the lecture you will fail! Homework takes at least 2 hours to complete. Would not recommend it. Doesn't like excuses. I bet if your dog died on the day of the exam, he would not care.
I retook ACG2071 this semester. I passed. In summary, the exams are impossible. No amount of studying I did helped me break a 70. The professor makes exam questions 3x harder than there supposed to be. He doesn't prepare you for them. The final included previous concepts he didn't warn us about or refresh us on. Overall, an upsetting experience
Very knowledgable about accounting, and stayed on topic during lectures. HW was a big part of the grade and his exams were pretty much exactly what he taught in his lectures and told us to study. Only drawback is that he can be rude to his students at times but at the end of the day he just wants his students to pass and retain the information.
If you put in the effort, you will pass. Know the material forwards and backwards. Do all of the homework, even the practice ones just so you are 100% prepared. His tests can be tricky, but they're not impossible; don't wait until the last minute to study.
This is the worst professor I've ever taken. Don't even try to send him an e-mail because he will send you a nasty reply back. There is no extra credit, no curve. I watched ALL of his lectures where he just clicks through PowerPoints quickly and doesn't explain. He's mean to students who ask questions. His exams are hard & proctored.
Most challenging class ever, professor is knowledgeable about the material but does not seem to care whether his students pass or not, does not reply to his emails, and gives an outrageous amount of homework. Avoid this class and prof if you can.
Exams are hard! Doesn't seem to care, but very knowledgeable. DO THE HOMEWORK, although there's A LOT and it's LONG it will save your grade. Homework is worth 40% of your grade. No extra credit & doesn't round up, was 0.5% away from 4.0. Get +90% on the first exam, basic knowledge piles up and the other 2 exams are considerably harder.
I do see why people think he is tough, he isn't the easiest professor nor did he provide any helpful resources, however he is understanding and there are no surprises either. Everything he said will be on the test/HW was there. Follows the textbook to the T. I missed an assignment deadline, and he let me re- do it, so def. not as bad as people say.
Beware that accounting is a very difficult course. Professor Bruckner is very knowledgeable but it was easy for me to get lost in his words probably because he is such a smart man. I spent a lot of time teaching myself, but I was pleased with a passing grade. There are a lot of formulas to learn and it's all closed book for the tests, so STUDY!
This was my second time taking this professor and he was just as difficult as the first time. My advice is to do all of the homework and study consistently throughout the course for the exams. There are 3 exams and they count for a huge percentage of your grade
Please take anyone but this professor. Hardest class at FAU. He makes everything so difficult when it shouldn't be.
Overall, everything is pretty straightforward. He uses McGraw Hill Connect which you have to buy but are beneficial, in my experience. Learnsmarts are very time-consuming, but the repetition of questions helps solidify the information you take notes on. The homework part of it has hints so that helps when it's time to do that.
He's difficult, but that's because Accounting is a difficult topic. He knows his stuff and does a good job at teaching the content if you listen and put in the work outside of class. Get your work done early and learn for understanding. That's the point of school. You slack off and there will be consequences.
Prof Bruckner is the best professor I've ever had! His lectures are very easy to understand, he gives so much material that it's hard to do poor on his exams. He gives learnsmarts, homeworks, practice homeworks, textbook pages, lectures, TAs, free tutoring, etc. He is also so nice and hilarious!!
Take any other professor for accounting if possible. His class and exams are very difficult and no matter how hard I studied I couldn't score above a D. He insults students and will accuse you of cheating with zero proof. Stay away.
He clearly doesn't want students to succeed and insults us. He makes the class harder than it needs to be. What kind of 64 year old man makes fun of young and ambitious students. FAU needs to replace him with someone more reasonable. Somebody needs to put him in a retirement home so he could be free of his misery. AVIOD AT ALL COSTS
Tough but fair. He made his expectations perfectly clear. Put in the time and you'll do well.
i took this during summer 2nd half, thank god i wasn't working or i def would not have time to do hw bc system glitched and all hw was due at 1pm but he refused to change it back to midnight. most challenging class ever, but he made it harder than it needs to be, tells u to ask Qs but will say that u shouldve learned this in Acct 1 if u ask the Q
Course content was expected. However, the professor was inflexible and not very caring about his students. No extra credit, but the syllabus is clear. If you wanna pass this class without getting overwhelmed, just takes notes from the e-book, do ALL the homework, and get at least 50% on ALL the tests, you'll get a C+. That's what I did:)
This is the worst professor I have ever taken, I was sick for the first test which ended up messing up my gpa, he never let me retake it and insisted that it was my fault that i got sick, and that there was no acception. He doesn't care about his students, and he's extremely selfish. Trust me when I say this you are better off with somebody else.
There are three exams, and the questions are pulled from the textbook. Therefore, it is important to read the textbook thoroughly and the Learn Books are so important to study. 30% of your grade is the homework- which is just a completion grade. Beware- no extra credit and no curve. The exams also require a lockdown browser- no open notes; 40 m/c.
ACG is tough. If you are a business/ACG major, taking him will benefit you in the long run. He may be harder than others, but you WILL understand his material. 500 points. 300 from 3 tests. 200 points are completion grades. Almost half your grade is from completion. You WILL pass the class given you actually try.
You will pass the class. 500 points total. 300 from test 200 are completion assignments. You WILL understand the material after taking the class. I did online and spent maybe 4-5 hours per week, so it's not too bad. It can be a challenging subject but he gives many ways to get help. However, he is STERN. Do not procrastinate. He has 0 tolerance.
He is straight-up rude and gives attitude. I do not understand why someone would take on a job to work with young adults if they cannot handle them. It is more than clear that he does not care about his students. He wants us to fail.
I usually abstain from writing negative reviews about professors (especially this early in the semester) but I'm going to make an exception for this one. He does not care about his students. He's rude when you ask him questions and don't even get me started on the exams. Although he's very knowledgeable, I would avoid him at all costs.
His teaching is very hard to follow, and the tests are even harder to do well on, I feel very under prepared when I study for multiple hours and still barely get a passing grade. He also waits last minute to post homework on canvas, so be on top of your schedule.
He wants you to pass, but doesn't do much to really help. The exams are nothing like the homeworks. If you do all the connect homework and average a 50 across the 3 exams, you pass.
DO NOT TAKE HIM ONLINE!! All we got were hour long recorded lectures that we are supposed to watch. Even though its an online class, he has meetings weekly. It was two homework assignments every week that are easy enough, yet the tests were super hard.
Took him last semester for Tax. He's an okay person who seems knowledgeable, but his teaching style wasn't that good. He just read from the slides and gave HW assignments. When it came to exams, it felt like it was nothing similar to the slides/HW. Plus, no study guides for exams. I barely passed the class.
no words. don't take him.
Horrible professor, I got failed by 1% , needed a 70 to pass and I had a 69. There is no curves, no extra credit, and no making up any assignments or exams even in the most extreme scenarios.
Just dont take him.
This professor does not care about you one bit. stay away. He does not allow you to meet with him, the only way to talk to him is if you call his phone. Does not answer his email 80% of the time. If you do happen to get in contact with him he does not care to hear what you have to say and he will try to end the conversation as fast as possible
Dont Just dont
The test are worth almost your whole grade. The test are extremely hard to pass. If you fail one test and miss a homework youre gonna have a hard time. Homework weekly and also smartbook assignments that are 60ish concepts long that take two hours to complete that are also weekly. Would not recommend, he doesnt give any extra credit or curves.
don't listen to these people, he's not that mean, he makes his expectations as clear as day. Its really not that hard. That being said, the material is... well its accounting. lots of debits and credits, memorizing if an account acts as a debit or credit, formulas, accounting lingo (mostly common knowledge). study and you will be fine. avoid online
Accounting is a hard class but this professor doesn't try to make it easy. His grading criteria is clear. Your homework is 200/500 points and the 3 exams are the remaining 300 points. There is no extra credit. The homework is easy and you get unlimited attempts. Exams are with lockdown browser.
He has no regard for the student and belittles their integrity. He fails you if you make a mistake and is extremely rude, dismissive, and demeaning.
Homeworks can be long to do. All the homeworks give you 200/500 while the remaining come from exams. Exams felt difficult and there was no real understanding. Be super on top of everything as there is no make-up or extra credit. TA's try to help as they are the only communication you'll get in this class.
If you want to understand and get good grades in accounting, DO NOT TAKE ACCOUNTING ONLINE. I got locked out of in person and could not be more miserable. Prof Bruckner wants you to pass and knows what he is talking about but gives very difficult exams and hw do not correlate to exams. Make the TAs your best friends bc hes inaccessible out of class
Absolute worst professor. He is beyond condescending and has the nastiest attitude, not sure how he is still a teacher. I bet he is writing the 5 star reviews to get his rating up, I would leave a rating of -5 if i could.
If you don't listen to any other rating, please listen to mine. Save your peace and pick another professor. This man has zero leniency and is heartless, said a FUNERAL wasn't a good excuse for missing an exam, called me on his personal cellphone to scream at me, and is overall a miserable teacher who thrives off his students failing.
Do NOT take him! Accuses every student of cheating and gives them a 0 on tests with no explanation of why he thinks they cheated. Is proud of a class average on tests being low Cs. Is nasty and disrespectful to students. Does not care if you pass or not and will fail you in a heartbeat. I don't know why he's still allowed to "teach".
I gave him a chance because some reviews said he isn't all he's made out to be. Save yourself headaches and stay away. People wanted to do badly on exams because he accused the ones who did good of cheating and threatened them saying he'd kick them out of the school. (This is coming from someone who was never accused of cheating, thank god.)
He makes the material easy to digest (I took for both acg2021 and acg2071) but be aware his tests are not very conducive to the smartbooks/graded hw. Negative reviews are mainly bc the class is difficult, he's pretty engaging imo. If you complete the hw and average a C on the tests, youll get a B
this professor has to be the worst at FAU. do not take him, he is difficult and truly could care less about his students.
My least favorite professor at FAU. Will not reason with any students for anything. Overall not a caring professor.
Did not enjoy taking his accounting 1 or 2 class. Exams are ridiculously hard, the class average for his exams are Ds and Cs (and he is somehow happy with that). He doesn't respect his students.
Do not take him he will accuse u of cheating whether it's for taking the exam in too little time or if he feels u got too high of a score. He does everything in his power to make sure that u do NOT pass the class. The head of accounting has been emailed as well as the school but FAU doesn't care to do anything about it.
Best teacher ever!! So sweet and attentive Very informative and knowledgeable on topic. He is so enthusiastic whenever you ask a question.
So rude to students has no compassion for them. Class material is so unclear i've spent too much time on this class alone.
I warn everyone who has to unfortunately have Bruckner. He makes it very clear he knows his poor rating. And for a good reason, I say. He is very disrespectful. I had a conversation with him and was insulted by his use of words that I am "embarrassing myself". Ridiculously long homework assignments that take 2-3 hours. Proceed with caution!!!!!
I took this professor for Accounting 1 and 2. He gives about 2-3 assignments a week that do take time but most of it is just smartbooks. I took his class fully online so I watched lectures to prepare for tests and I do think he explains it pretty well and gives good examples. Just watch the lectures and homework and you will be fine.
He has a bad rep and I could see why but your grade reflects how much work you put in to the class. It's hard material but if you watch the lectures and actually do the smartbooks you will do fine. He doesn't cut you any slack but if your work is done in the first place you wont need any! I think most of his bad reviews come from lazy students tbh
Teaching-wise, he is great. His lectures are informative, has humour. It's not impossible to pass this class. If you do each assignment, all you need is 50% on each exam to pass.I don't like how stressful he is regarding the cheating policy.I would be anxious to take his exams because I was scared I would be flagged for cheating even though I wasnt.
I can not stress this enough any good review on here is either him or his brown-nosing TAs you can tell because most of the reviews are just his first day of class lecture verbatim. I plan on filing a complaint with the school as this professor is beyond unprofessional. Do the homework and smartbooks but they won't help on the exams.
Spare yourself the headache and take another professor. We just finished our final and because this professor has a history of creating questions well outside the material covered I wrote some down to compare with homework. Out of the 40 questions only 15 were covered in the material all the others are ones he inserts. I'm filing complaints.
Bruckner honestly does not care about his students. The exams are tough and you need to do well on them to pass the class. His lectures weren't very good. I would recommend you find a different professor. Also all the cheating accusations are crazy.
Bruckner's ACG2021 course is well-structured and attainable. Many students, including myself, struggle in Accounting 1, but if you show up to class, ask questions, and communicate effectively with him, it's clear that he genuinely wants you to learn and succeed. Overall, a great teacher, and an exceptional guy.
He isnt the worst professor but he just straight up isnt a good person. The smartbooks and graded homeworks can be super difficult and take a while and they dont really correlate with his exams so definitely read the book and memorize the formulas. The whole cheating thing is insanely ridiculous and kids wanted to do bad in fear of being accused.
one of the worst proffesors around will never respond to an email to save his life also if you do to good on his exams he thinks that your cheating
Professor Bruckner has an excellent means of teaching. He explains difficult-to-understand material very well in his lectures. He structures the homework around critical/technical thinking to give you the opportunity to learn the material rather than have it handed to you. I am excited to work with him again to gain as much knowledge as possible.
Accounting is no walk in the park, but with the right tools, you can nail this class. Homeworks can be lengthy, but the TAs are a lifesaver. Pair that with Unstuckstudy and you'll be prepped for those tough exams. Just stay on top of everything - no makeups or extra credit here!
If evil was a person, it would be Mitchell Bruckner. Let me hold your hand when I say this: even if he's the last teacher left, do NOT take his class. He called MY phone, accusing me of cheating, and as I spoke to him, he said, "I'm not one of your little friends."
I personally had a wisdom teeth removal appointment on the day of an exam, and instead of offering any flexibility, he told me I had to take the test immediately after my procedure or receive a zero-no retake, no accommodations. This professor clearly has no interest in seeing his students succeed. He seems to take pride in students failing!!
Professor Bruckner is awesome. Took him for acg2021 this semester and will be in his acg2071 class next semester.
He accuses people of cheating all the time, especially if you do well. If you don't do well on one test, however, your grade is basically done. He does not care about anything or any circumstance. Even if you are sick, did not cheat, does not provide more than his posted lectures, assignments due in the middle of the day, etc. good luck never again
I was honestly terrified to take ACG2071 with this professor just based on previous reviews - which I now know that most (if not all) of the bad reviews most likely come from students who cheated, didn't watch lectures, or did barely enough to scrape by. I think Bruckner is very knowledgeable and his lectures helped so much! He wasn't bad IMO.
All complaining about this professor just wanna cheat their way through the course. This professor has mad experience in accounting and walks you through every chapter step by step with problem reviews after every chapter. He only has a smartbook and 1 homework that are super easy weekly. Only 3 exams which you are well prepared for! Funny Guy!
Just no. He's Rude and doesn't listen to what you have to say.
All of the good reviews are definitely fake, there is no way anyone could like this guy. Guaranteed he writes all of his own positive reviews. Has a nasty attitude, does not care for his students, absolutely should not be teaching, 0/5. FAU needs to do better.
just no pls don't
Professor is so arrogant and expects way too much for a basic accounting class. The practice problems given in the lectures are much simpler than the ones on the test. He tries to make the tests as confusing as possible and you can tell by how the problems are written. Do anything you can to not have this teacher. FAU needs to find someone else.
This professor was the worst professor I have had at FAU he does not post his exams on the calendar only the syllabus and if you miss an exam you are not able to make up this exam by AT ALL. He also does not honor any bit of late work even for the most extreme excuses. Do not take him at all costs!
This is the worst professor i've had in my history of schooling. The man seems like he has absolutely 0 interest in teaching and any anger he hold gets taken out on students. He does NOT honor late work even with valid excuses and he will even accuse you of cheating if you do too well on his exams. Take an in person just to avoid him at all costs!!
I took his Hybrid Accounting 1 class, and the online lectures were super difficult to follow. I started coming in person every day just to try and understand, but I still felt confused most of the time. He tries his best as a professor and cares for his students, but his teaching style is hard to follow, and his tests are very difficult.
Literally evil incarnate. This man does not care. He is not accessible at all until he wants to accuse you of cheating out of nowhere. His tests are extremely difficult for no reason. 3 Exams, all worth 100 points, 20 homework assignments each worth 10. The homework was okay, but the exams are nothing like the homework. Don't take this class.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF TAKE ANYONE ELSE. He tests on the smallest detail of the book that no one cares about and is irrelevant to any future endeavors. Test heavy and just a no.
I was nervous bc of the reviews, but he's alright. He's a good lecturer, but they are super long. Lots a homework, but it's the same every week, so it's good for routine. He is strict, but if he's your only choice, he's not that bad. The lectures help, and so do the practice quizzes.
Does not give good feedback at all and could have better lectures that clearly explain example exam questions.
so many people fear monger about him and he's not that bad at all. literally just do the homework yourself and you'll understand the concepts and formulas for the exams. i almost never watched the lectures and just read the textbook and did the homework and i did fine in the class. good luck!!
This class was very PowerPoint-heavy, and unfortunately, that made it hard to really connect with the material. There were constant deadlines assignments, quizzes, and projects felt like they were back-to-back. It didn't leave much room to actually digest what we were learning before moving on to the next topic.
I saw his reviews somehow gotten worse during the add drop week and immediately dropped this class LMAO.
If you keep up with the hw and the lectures you are going to do great. Don't be scared about the reviews, he is a serious professor but he is doing his job. Just don't forget to study, good luck :)
Many people hate this guy because he is VERY against cheating on exams. He honestly is a great professor, but you must pay attention to the lectures to understand anything. If you want a class to only cheat and learn nothing, take another class. But if you actually want to learn accounting, take his class. He forces you to know what you are doing.
I had to take this professor because there wasnt any other options and I had a bad experience. I still passed the class, but he DOES NOT accept late work. I missed one assignment due date and he would not let me make it up when it only happened once. This dropped my grade and I tried emailing him and he did not even respond.
Professor Bruckner's class isn't that hard pay attention you will do great on exams. But if you miss something and even if it's related to family deaths he won't let you make it up.
does not respond to any emails or help. if you miss anything even a small homework with a valid excuse he won't let it slide. took 3 emails over the course of 2 weeks to get a response (which was a no). would not recommend taking at all.
He makes homework due before the lessons lecture. He thinks you are cheating- has insane rules for online test taking (Can't scroll ahead or back questions, no scratch paper, no handheld calculator). He does not let you miss tests, even if is an actual emergency. He makes you go through his TAs for everything.
WORST TEACHER! Avoid at all costs unless you want to find yourself yanking your hair wondering what terrible thing you did in life to get such a miserable teacher like him. Youtube gives better lessons than he does. You would think he gets paid more for failing students by the way he lectures. I would rate him 5 tomatoes absolutely HORRIBLE
Would rather eat a porcupine than take his class again. Only take if you want this to be your 13th reason
Online class with proctored exams. I earned A's on all work/exams but was accused of cheating for looking away and using paper instead of the online scratch tool. The professor was rude and dismissive, admitted there was no cheating, yet failed me solely for using paper because I “broke the rules”. Poor/flawed communication and rigid teaching.
just pick someone else
