In my class there was alot of open discussion. Thought he was a great teacher!

His class is fun and it won't put you to sleep. My only issue with him is that he forgets what he's doing and skips around alot. He tries to give you alot of information in a small amount of time. As long as you go to class you will do good!

He is not easy. but you'll learn a lot although class is too short for all he wants to teach you. lots of in class discussion, follow along and you'll be fine

He's very knowledgable and is an excellent teacher. His class is not easy.

This class is easy I took it because I had to and hoping to see hot women (they are taking psychology) this guys tells you everything go to class highlight a lot and you'll get an A

He's okay. He is a nice guy, but he talks all class period about ... well, anything. He goes off topic very easily. He will debate with student pretty easily. He can be funny sometimes. He's not a bad teacher.

overall the class is easy EXCEPT for the final rearch paper and essay on the research paper. I stressed over itm forever but got an A on it so that wasnt to bad but i know alot of people who did really bad on it. hes a nice teacher.

BORING. Talks forever. Literally reads entire text book in class. 10 quizes but he helps you on them if you ask. They're in the book. Midterm & Final are HARD. TRUST ME: Re-read book on your own. TAKE RESEARCH PAPER/ESSAY VERY SERIOUSLY: focus on the perspectives and get help if you're not sure you're doing it right! This can make/break your grade!

he is an awesome professor. i truly enjoyed his class. i took the summer express. it is a good class for that. my only regret was taking the express shortened the course and it was very interesting. i would have liked to go alittle longer. take kass you will really enjoy him

If you pay attention and study his class is easy. Most of these low ratings are probably from people that did neither of these. He was one of my favorite teachers. I easily got an A in his class.

Very good professor, loved his lectures! Professor Kass is very interested and a little boring at times, but for the most part he is relatively EASY! I got a "B" in his class!! I recommend him!

An easy A or B! I like him alot. He is funny and interesting. The topics are great for debating and open discussions. The paper is a little confusing, but he offers help after class strictly just for the paper. For the most part a fairly easy class. I definitely recommend!

to clear up everything commented...he is strict on attendance. he tells u everything on the midterm and final but alot of studying is required. he knows what he is doin. his research paper is very tricky! make sure u dont slack on it cuz its a big part of ur grade! if u dont understand something about the class or the paper,ask him and he'll solve

This teacher is great! Hes nice, funny a bit cooky, but very interesting! He may be little strict, but he tells you everything right from the begginng. Those who complained about his attendance rule r being dumb because he gives fare enough warning. Just go to class! I hate school and I loved his class I wish i could take him as a teacher again

Eccentric personality, but class is v. interesting. Midterm & final r tough – u really have to study hard & he throws tricky questions not covered in lectures where u just have to guess the answers (exams r multiple choice). The research paper is lots of work & the essay is tricky –be sure to attend the WORKSHOP! Overall – good class, but not easy.

His class is interesting but the tests are kinda tricky. You have to study alot and guess on the tricky questions. Good teacher tho.

Fabulous. Fair. Dedicated. Engaged in subject. He's not a professor teaching meerly to support himself. He gives 200% for those who give 100%. I recommend the course & Prof. Kass w/o reserve! Show up; take focused notes; pop in during office hours a/b once per month...and you're on your way to mastering the course & getting an A!

Prof. Kass at first seemed weird and the man writes his own book for the class. It's great cause it saves you money but stinks no sell backs. He is great a little boring in class, but if you ever miss class he teaches right out of the book. Only 2 tests and some quizzes. I'm taking him again! He's a must

he's very easy. his tests are not hard he gives you a review the class before the thest and everything he tells you to study is exactly on the test. you have to put time into your studying that's all. his paper is kind of difficult to understand. but he holds like a workshop 3 times so you have an opportunity to go and he'll explain it in even more

Professor Kass is a very good professor. He explains the material in a easy and funny way. His test are not easy but if you study you can get a good grade. The written assignment is complicated, but he goes over it many times and he is very oppen to students comments and questions. Pay attention and study a little and you will do fine!

Hes cool. Lectures can be boring sometime. easy. turn in quiz evry week you take it home and use book. final and midterm you have to study everything. if you dont you will fail. his research paper can be easy if you start early and ask alot of ques.. its tricky because he wants it a certain way and he grades it hard

Easy class. Paper is a little difficult but you basically spend class everyday highlighting parts of text that will be on mid term and final exam.

Great teacher, helpful, and funny. The tests are hard but if you study you will do fine. Early warning for anyone who takes his class DO NOT wait last minute to do your report. This professor is weird; he wrote his own book and he only knows what it is the book he wrote. He generalizes everything and doesn't really answer your questions. His tests were mad easy and he gave my class an extra credit opportunity which was cool. I wouldn't really recommend this proefessor because he is boring!!!!!! Attendence is mandatory!!!!

A fine teacher who lectures with passion. His commitment to the subject matter and to his students is palpable. He will meet with you if you need help, provides exlicit intructions and studying tips. A good over-all class.

Professor Kass is really not that bad! If he gives the opportunity for a workshop on the paper MAKE SURE YOU GO because he will look at drafts and answer any questions you may have. The best part is writing the research paper. It is a challenge to find the class engaging without help. He is into sociology he says and talked about going to school in England and visiting Russia. He is good at meeting with students and has an office close by. Very few ratings would worry me and wish him luck. Thanks for the A or B.

he really is not as bad as they are saying. he really is passionate about his work, humorous too. DO the ake home quizes and look over your notes and you will be fine!! overall the course itself is VERY EASY!! TAKE HIM!

He is one of the best teachers I've ever had, I can't believe anyone would be able to fail his class. Very helpful. Will make time for you. One of the best at PBCC.

I got an A and had to barely do any work the entire semester. The hardest part about his class was the research paper, which if you follow the guidelines, get good info, and write it well, you'll get a good grade. He is a little odd, but so are most sociologists. I would recommend him, but don't just expect an A, you still need to earn it.

Very good teacher!! Very light-hearted, never mean, easy class. The quizzes are in the book and you do them at home...extremely easy. You'll do fine on the 3 tests as long as you study for at least 30 minutes. His class was interesting and he was a great professor. I highly recommend him.

Easy class as long you're willing to study and pay attention in class. He takes a while to lecture but he MAKES SURE he teaches everything thats on the tests. If you plan on sleeping and not going to class, don't take him because it is very easy to get lost. Otherwise, he's a very funny guy and he's not terribly boring to listen to.

Mr. Kass is very funny and outgoing. His class is alittle tough but if your willing to study and pay attention you will do great. I really suggest him for sociology!!!

As a person, he's an overall cool guy. As a teacher, he's not very entertaining at all. You can tell he loves Sociology, but he's biased becuz of it & is hypocritical at times too (don't attempt to argue w/him abt certain disagreements you may have). You get 10 take-home quizzes, a 2000 word essay, and 3 Tests; works ENTIRELY from the book he wrote

He is a Nice professor.I actually enjoyed his class. You do Learn and he presents the material not only using books but he also uses video's and such. Go to class and study the notes, you could get an A' or a B'. I got an A'

Just study the notes for test and quiz. Everyone in my class had either an A or B for that presentation. It is not impossible to get in A'. Very humble professor who follows all the rules and is very fair.

This is a good professor to take if you pay attention and make sure to attend every class. It was very interesting.

The material he teaches for sociology isnt too exciting but he tries to keep you up. He is very funny and nice. Do all of his assignments and you should get an A.

Not sure why he only has a 3.5 rating. But Dr.Kass is a great professor. He is super clear, and will give examples, show books, etc. to help you grasp the concepts. Class discussions are interesting. The whole class is from his book. So yes you need it!..I would take him again, definitely recommended!

Great professor. Mr Kass is a fair person with great passion for his job. I recommend him. If you do all your work and pass hes test, he has no problem in giving you an A or B if you deserve it of course. I would take him again.

Never though i would like the class, but it turned out very interesting! His lectures can be entertaining, has a sense of humor.you would be dumb if you didnt study for the tests because they are straight definitions from the book and his lectures. everyone who studied always got an A on the tests!research paper was hard. but thats all. This class only had 3 tests [1 being the final] and a term paper. Tests are multiple choice and as long as you study the textbook [that he wrote] and come to class to take his notes you'll do fine. He's a quirky funny weird guy but constantly gets off topic and blames his students for us being behind in the lecture. Not a bad class at all.

He is a great professor. He USES the book. Everything is in the book! A professor that uses the entire book so you get your money's worth. The quizes are all done at home in the book and test are right out of the book. The essay is a bit of work, but overall he explains it and his class was not hard.

Took him for socialogy, the book he assigns is 100% needed since it is a work book. There are 3 papers but they should be relatively easy since he breaks them down. His lectures are always going with the book. Tests are pretty easy if you pay attention and skim the notes before the test. He has of odd humor and is liberal So sometimes it leaks out

Easy teacher w/ a funny personality! He has a great way to take the concepts and teach them to you in a way you can remember and relate back to your own life. All of the quizzes are in the book, so it's necessary that you buy it brand new. He's an easy grader as long as you can write correctly and follow directions. I would recommend him to anyone!

Professor Kass is quirky and definitely knows what he's talking about. A lot of experience and has the research in the book to show for it. He misspeaks sometimes and doesn't give you back the scantron on the test or review for that matter unless you make an appointment, but I'd recommend him. He encourages discussion.

Easy class. Kass gets a sidetracked a lot during lectures & goes off topic often. Tests & class is overall easy but he likes to put tricky wording in tests.

It was a good class. Prof. Kass is pretty straightfoward. You have 3 tests, one paper, and 10 quizes that are homework that come directly from the book. My only complaint was this professor never returned my emails.

This was an amazing professor! very into his lectures. a couple of essays and exams. Exams were very easy if you study. has take home quizzes that are easy as well. No complaints except that he might get off topic a little bit but other then that he's an amazing professor.

He is great professor . He allows the class to be easy because it is setup to in a simple manner . There are no surprise , the class is a good learning environment. Class participation is good . I only had him for half the course but he was pretty funny lol. He was loud, which kept me up at 9:30am. EVERYTHING on the test is IN THE BOOK. He tells you EXACTLY what t highlight and what you need to focus on. Easy A!

Good class. Not too difficult. The textbook is a must. The tests aren't too bad and the writing assignments aren't hard at all.

Great professor! He talks and reads from the book for the majority of class. YOU NEED HIS BOOK NEW!! (Unfortunately) His tests are easy if you study. He tells you exactly what to study as well. Some students didn't like him. I believe this is because he is not very good at answering questions that challenge his lessons / the material.

Definitely take this professor! 3 papers that are only 1-1.5 pages long. Weekly take home quizzes. You need the book(NEW)for his class which is a literal copy of his lectures. So if you miss a class you have his whole lecture with you anyway(you might just want to see if there were any add on notes). Easy tests as long as you go over the book/notes

He's a really good professor. His background is in Criminology, Marriage and Family, as well as Sociology. His book has the lectures in it. You can easily catch up if you miss a class. Just read the lectures from the book and his notes, and you can get a good grade. I would take him again if I wasn't graduating soon. Great class!

Professor Kass is a really great professor. If you want an A, you have to keep up with his lectues and readiing assignments. He uses his own book. This does help to keep the costs down. He's realistic and can be fuuny. Take him.
