I took the intro to sociology course online. Relatively easy lessons and straightforward exams, but she doesn't interact with the students at all. She never responded to any of the mandatory posts and failed to answer emails. I personally wouldn't know if she was a good instructor simely because she never instructed.

I took her honors soc 1 course. It was EASY. Rarely any work. Only 3 assignments. Attend her classes, you get points for being there. Didnt even have to buy the book and i still got an A. Paper was pretty easy, u get to choose the subject. Didnt learn much, but she was a funny teacher. Shes really nice. Easy A.

Extremely easy class. All you need to do is all the assignment, most take less than an hour of your time, plus you have a whole week to complete. Make sure to comment on other people's threads for the extra point. It's well worth it.

Online class was wonderful.Discussion posts had to deal with much analyzation but it's nothing too bad. She's great at answering back on email if you ever have a question which needs to be asked. There are extra credit opportunities too if you feel that your not satisfied with your points on the grading scale.

Took her for Soc21 and online soc 1, overall really easy, 1 midterm and final for soc 21, has nothing to do with the lecture though. For the online class just write a paragraph a week, and you get extra credit. Overall she's a sweetheart, take her, and get the A.

AMAZING TEACHER! Relates all topics to modern day culture. How class goes: puts a slide on (ex.gender) or youtube, she reads over it very quickly class discusses until ready to move on. Very understanding. A big promoter of tolerance and thinking outside the norm. She's brilliant!!

Take this class! Easy A. I took the 4 hr long, once a week class. It was interesting! 1st she lectures (gets distracted and shows us random youtube videos). depending on what class you have her for, i had her for human sexuality and she was fantastic i lover her! shes so funny and interesting and she can get topic at times but either way you are learning! but i had her for SOC21 and it was terrible so much work but to be honest i was just lazy you can easily pass her class if you do everything

Profesor, Hoshiar is amazing. She gives great lectures and the test were relevant to the lecture. I did not use the book at all, as she made us power points that you can just print out and bring to class. Book is optional but I do recommend it, as you may need to refer to the book. Pay attention in class and she makes tons of room for participation. Open to listening to your experience with the subject matter. None of the information is hazy. She'll even help you with general college inquiries.

One of my favorites. Participation is VERY important. All her notes are on canvas, you learn a lot from her but you do need to do all the homework which are mainly discussions between students online. If you want to learn & get an A, you will. If you want an easy A with no work to do then don't take her. I loved her.

Book for the class provided by PDF file. There is one assignment per week which is usually a discussion post, a test, or an assignment. She is very strict on APA format being used and on the length of the assignments you post. All the material provided requires research online and the notes in each weeks module. Easy A

Professor Mitra Hoshair, I took her Sociology 1 online course and really really enjoyed it. She is truly amazing with her grading outline, it's very straight forward and she is on top of giving you feedback and your grade is always posed on time. She drops one exam so that really helps, at least for me :-) The book the book she uses is online .

This should be the future of college classes. There is not too much work at all, but much accountability. A class like this feels like it is trying to push you along, rather than hold you back. Dr. Hoshiar's teaching style should be the future format for any class beside a Math class.

Started off not really seeing the merit of Sociology and thanks to Prof. Hoshiar, by the end of the class enjoyed coming in to class for the lectures and following discussions. If she ever comes up for any other courses, I will take them.

Very easy class. Took it for IGETC and easily passed with an A with little effort. The quizzes are mostly common sense, but definitely read the notes she provides beforehand. The discussion posts take no more than 30 minutes, and be sure to cite your sources correctly on the single paper. Highly recommend for students looking for an easy G.E.

I took this course through the PACE program and it did go by quick, but was totally worth it! Definitely recommend! A plus about this course is she provides a free textbook online.

I loved Prof Hoshiar and I learned a lot from her class. No hw, just 5 exams, all multiple choice, and the final was only 20 questions. Make sure you show up to get participation points and not miss anything. She did talk a lot throughout class, but I loved the advice she gave. She brought up real life issues that need to be discussed more.

OMG, I was panicking at first especially the canvas works she had assigned. Turns out Prof. Hoshiar is a true mentor. She is professional, courteous and respectful. For the first time I was sad to see a class come to an end. I truly acquired society as its own entity. Text book is free on line, few small quizzes, few small essays and your done.

I highly recommend Dr. Hoshiar. I took her Soc001 class through the PACE program. It was an accelerated class, however she makes it so interesting and interactive that you don't feel overwhelmed with all of the material. If you show up to every class, participate and do every online discussion as explained, you will do well!

Took her class for Sociology 001 online over summer and it was one of the easiest courses I've ever taken. Easy A++ if you literally just submit your assignments following the super basic criteria. My class was 5 weeks long, there were 5 exams total, 5 discussions total, and 1 easy paper. It was super easy to take this course and get a high A.

I would definitely take her again! She gives no homework just has 5 to 6 quizzes throughout the semester. Her lectures are interesting and shes such a sweet person. Easy A class as long as you understand the material and do well on the quizzes.

I took Soc 1 with her during a 5 week session. Our grade was mostly based off our discussions, which you got 100% on if you just did, and multiple choice tests. Not too much reading, she's really a fair and kind teacher, not sure what these other people are saying. Our final was a 5 - 7 page easy, which was easy if you just put in the effort. :)

Mitra's class was an in-person class but had to shift to an online class due to COVID-19. She did an amazing job transferring over to zoom and canvas. She kept in touch with everyone and was very forgiving during these hard times. She is a great teacher and I definitely recommend taking her class.

In the beginning of the semester this was a face to face class but due to covid-19 it turned into an online class using zoom. Professor Hoshiar helped us adapt well to zoom with her lectures that seemed like we we're there in person. I do not recommend taking his class if you want to earn an easy A. Great professor but very tough on grading. It's crucial to always be on top of everything and you cannot take a day to rest or you'll quickly fall behind. The exams use different wording and can be difficult if you don't study thoroughly.

I took a 5-weeks online summer class. Easy A. The book is free, but actually, you don't really have to read it all to get an A. She gave 20 minutes for 20 questions in the quizzes, and you can find all answers online. But you still have to participate in all discussions. The final research paper is not hard too.

Professor Mitra's class is fairly simple, you read, write a discussion, and eventually take a midterm. You will also be introduced to a research paper, although zoom sessions aren't mandatory there is information which she shares on zoom which isn't elaborated in the modules. So if you partner up with someone make sure one goes to the meeting.

Literally a walk in the park. 5 exams, one easy essay. 20 questions 20 minutes for each exam. All questions and answers are literally on quilt and google. However, the class is very easy if you study as well. Def taking her other classes. She made is so easy during COVD times.

My class was moved online becuase of covid and she was very understadning of challenging circumstances. The entire grade is based off of tests but they are very easy to study for. Professor Hoshiar's lectures are straightforward and inspiring. I highly reccomned taking her courses.

I loved taking sociology 04 with Professor Hoshiar. The course was mostly discussion-based with quizzes and an 2 page essay as the final. It was a very thought-provoking class and a safe space for diversity. Even during the pandemic, I felt little to no stress tackling the course material! Best teacher for soc i took soc 2 times in highschool failed both of them and i finally passed when i took her class i took her class over the summer 21 only 8 weeks i learned so much a lot of simple chapter quizzes some hard quizzes but overall simple and lots of easy to understand lectures

I just took her class this winter and honestly it was pretty easy. Weekly discussion and quiz which isnt anything too difficult. Overall the class was easy and shes a good teacher.

This was the first college class I took and I am extremely thrilled with it. She is an amazing professor and this class was by far my favorite. I learned so much within a short amount of time. *5-week summer course* Professor Hoshiar provides lecture notes which can help narrow down what you need to focus on for the quizzes. But do not rely too heavily on the lecture notes because the quizzes cover more content outside of them. One quiz and one discussion due per week, with a final research paper (APA) at the end of the semester.

She likes to include lectures on what's going on in the real world, present day. Love it.

It is an online course and Professor Hoshiar is very nice professor. The lecture notes are important for the exam, and read the text book can understand more, and exam is not difficult. During the class, the discussion session is accounting for points, so better not absent. I think I will Professor Hoshiar's class again.

For every chapter, she will have us do a discussion and reply to 2 classmates and an Exam after reading a few chapters. Note: there is no extra credit, so be sure to complete all the work and get a good grade on the Exams.

Very nice to students, she's very clear about what she wants out students. The syllabus is very concise and reasonable. She definetly cares about students and has a passion for teaching.

Ms. Hoshiar is a really amazing teacher who gives lectures that are very helpful towards success in the class. She works hard to make sure we learn and has an attitude that makes the class fun and engaging. Overall she has done a great job to teach us all about the principles of sociology. I would definitely take her class again.

Professor Hoshiar is very open to the class and helpful with advice. Long lectures but she is able to make them interesting and relate them to real world current situations.

Modules are easy to go through and she gives opportunities for extra credit. Assignments have clear directions and her lectures are nice to listen to.

Professor Hoshiar is amazing! Her class is easy-going with mainly having to do discussions online and small lectures for each meeting. We have online exams but are simple enough for people to study for as long as going through the online textbook we are given by her. As a person, she is very caring and respects all of us as individuals.

Professor is considerate about moving assignments when problems happen. In class would be lecture, but last part of class would allow people time to do discussions or study for the exams. Also, she is there when you need to ask questions about the lecture, assignment, and etc.

Very nice and gives good enjoyable lectures. Involves the students and gives good feedback on assignments. We also are given opportunities to do extra credit. She is also very considerate like postponing exams since we missed the first 2 classes.

This professor was an excellent representative of the concept of sociology. I learned so very much under the guidance of this professor and I felt that I was free to understand new information in a way that was most comfortable for me. I am very grateful for my experience with this professor and would absolutely take a course with her again.

This class is overall easy and you learn a lot. Professor Hoshiar is very light on the assignments as they are mostly discussions. Her exams are based on the learnings and are not hard to do as long as you are following with the teaching. She gives clear instructions, just make sure you reference to the syllabus often.

Professor Hoshiars class is easy as long as you put in the effort. Participating in discussions really helps, and staying organized and keeping up with assignments make a big difference too. I would definitely take her class again.

Professor Hoshiar is amazing! I really enjoyed her class and how it was very straight forward. We got to see and read about all the different stances to social issues everywhere.

Professor Hoshiar is great, the information needed was provided and instructions were straight forward, topics on course syllabus was very clear. You just need to make sure you read the assigned chapters, submit homework on time, follow her instructions and you will be good to go.

I recently took SOC 125 online with this professor. It was a fast-paced course, and the professor gave a lot of opportunities to earn extra credit. The professor was very supportive. I was able to balance my work schedule and still pass the course along with my peers. I recommend taking a class with this professor.

Very easy class but be prepared for 5 exams every semester. The professor also completely closes the canvas before you can view your grades.

I honestly found this the easiest class and understood it easily,There was not even a lot of homework and when there is discussions/exams they are very much simple! I recommend this class. (Also a lot of free extra credit points)!!

Dr.Hoshiar is amazing some say her class is hard but if you listen to her lectures, watch the videos and read the articles/chapters then it'll be easy. If your grade drops in her class it is hard to bring it up. She is very specific on her assignments so READ THE SYLLABUS. She's a smart, well-educated teacher, I took her for Soc 1 & 4 and got As.

I took Professor Hoshiar this summer term, and I have nothing bad to say about her or her class! Her recordings and chosen outside resources helped me a lot in understanding the lesson. I think her forums were pretty stimulating too. The allotted work each week was also equally distributed. I recommend taking her!

I took her for Sociology online for the fall 2025 semester. All you had to do was turn do the discussions on time and take a couple of tests. The final was a research paper. Super easy A as long as you turn in everything on time.

Very straightforward class. Discussions, tests, easy A. Not too much work to be done, its manageable. Just do the work and you'll be fine. Nice professor.

A great professor, gives all the materials you need to do on canvas which is simple to understand. It is all well organized. Assignments are very easy and you can easily pass this course if you do what's given to you.
