Ms. Sowell is a great teacher. She uses powerpoints for teaching in class which you can copy off website. Very fair teacher. She is a fun person and cares for her students. Her tests are not extremely difficult but you better study. I plan on taking her for A&P II next semester!

Ms. Sowell is a VERY good teacher. She really knows her subject! The material can be pretty tough, but she is very thorough and makes herself available for help. She gives plenty of opportunity to make a good grade and really learn the material. She's the best teacher I've ever had, and I will be taking her A&P2 class next term. Highly recommended.

if you have trouble with physical sciences you should take her class. she should have a class for other instructors everwhere.

Had her for Bio Prin didn't remember section number... I don't know what that person who gave her 1's was smoking, but ms. sowell is awesome. I mean her lectures are on her website VERBATIM for what she speaks about. she is very nice and very helpful. The only way you could ever fail her class is if you try to fail.

Ms. Sowell is the bomb. Although the subject matter can be difficult, she is a good teacher. She also gives bonus opportunities and assignments. She will even throw out test questions that seem to be missed by most students.

Tough class but she goes out of her way to help you. Provides handouts, links to other resources, and posts all her notes. I recommend taking her class if you need A&P.

This woman can teach!! if you want to learn, take her. She is way, far above the usual at PJC. Helps everyone, goes way beyond what is expected. It is not an easy class, do not expect an A unless you study study study, work work work, but that is what college is for!! duh!!

She is amazing. I love how she uses her family members as examples for disorders and procedures. The tests are multiple choice with an extra credit essay question. Notes are power-point, just sit, listen, and study and you got an A!

I took this class online and it was easy and clear what the instructor wanted. You can do goo in this class if your disciplined enough to read all the information and look at all the examples she gives you.The instructor was very helpful when needed. Tests are hard if you think you will just wing it.You must truly understand the information to pass

i loved this class. we're non majors & she used real life examples for everything. she didnt make us learn stuff we wont need to know as non majors. i made a A on every test & never opened my book...all you need is to take notes & youll be fine...i def. recommend her.

I love Dr. Sowells teaching she helps break down biology to where YOU need it to be. She also helps it apply to your world and the real world. And the stuff that even she says is rote memorization and boring she will fair warn you but avoids it if possible. I would defiantly take another of her classes.

Great teacher, u wont fall asleep in her class, she uses real life explanations that help out alot. Tests are somewhat hard, but not too bad.

Biology for non majors online, I was really worried about this class, especially online but it wasn't bad, the quizes are harder then the test, I really liked taking it online, and it didn't take as much time as I thought, the thinkwell cd is useless, just use the power point and book.

Taking BIO non majors - I really like her and would take another class of hers. Her lectures are great and to the point. She does have a sense of humor and relates biology back to real life. She is direct in relaying what you need to know. Test are easy...just study! Take notes and you wont really need the book!

Good teacher. She loves class participation although doesn't put you on the spot. She can become distracted easy with tardiness and cell phones, etc, and she is direct but nice with it. The class itself is not easy, but you can pass with effort. Her quizzes are similar to test questions and let you know where you stand for studying purposes.

Mrs. Sowell is an awesome teacher. Everything in her lectures is on the test. She writes everything that you'll need on the board. Only on occasion does she use the book. There is no reason to get a bad grade in her class unless you didn't study or pay attention.

Love Dr. S! I had for her online for A&P1 and and had her A&P1 Lab at the SSRC. Lab moved very quickly but she does offer extra credit. You can't make up anything though so attendance is important. Online A&P1 was fine. As long as you turn everything in on time you should be good.

Dr.S is great! Take notes, pay attention to lectures, and do not miss any days because it will put you behind. I had her for biology and she makes it fun and interesting. The test were a little hard but as long as you listen to everything she covers and take notes you should do fine.Gave a few take home quizzes and extra credit. Good instructor

If you do the work and follow her instructions you should have no problem with the class. Very helpful with any questions you may have and is always available to help! Highly recommended.

Great teacher for a hard course. She taught the material, so that I could understand it and do well on her tests and quizzes (which were difficult, but you can study her powerpoints and ch. objectives)She finds ways to give you extra credit. She also doesn't make you buy the $280 book. Instead use any older edition that you want. I would recomend:)

This teacher is amazing. Her class is easy because she made it easy. I took her BIOL PRIN NON-MAJ class online and I got an A.I would highly recommend this teacher.

A and p 2 is harder but not impossible. I struggled right up until midterm but after that the chapters are MUCH easier. Dr sowell was really understanding and gave us enough extra credit opportunities to encourage us to stick it out. I'm so glad I did. I will always recommend her for a and p.

Dr. Sowell is an excellent teacher and was particularly generous with me when I found that my text didn't include all the chapters, she let me borrow her text. She is a very fair teacher and the grade you earn is what you get. I disliked, however the text that spent too much time defending the theory of evolution. Good/solid teacher.

I loved having her as a teacher, I took her at 7:30 in the morning but still enjoyed going to her class, WONDERFUL teacher. I wish I could take her again! Textbook is definitely needed, and as long as you read the powerpoint reviews that she goes over, it is an easy A. Highly recommend taking her for biology!

Dr. S teaches AP2 so well that even the average JOE can comprehend. She should teach other professors how to "TEACH"! I would recommend taking her in class rather than online if possible. Do not expect to be given an 'A.' YOU WILL WORK FOR YOUR A! I was able to make an A in both lecture and lab in 6-WEEKS! So if I can do it, anyone can!!!!!!!

Dr. Sowell was my first college professor as a dual-enrolled student and she was clear and she was helpful and her tests were 90% multiple choice. Now I want to take her A&P class because she teaches it. Take her!

I took A&P1 online. It isn't an easy class to take online. Dr. Sowell makes everything very clear on the grading. She is also a very fair grader. As long as you take all the tests and quizes, she will drop the lowest. Online, everything is multiple choice or fill in the blank. Her answers are similar so studying is a must. If you guess, you're more than likily to get it wrong. lol I will say though, you should definitely read the chapters. She also has videos for an online lecture experience. She provides reviews that are wonderful as well. She is a great teacher!

Dr. Sowell is GREAT! I have signed up for another one of her classes and look forward to taking it. She makes me want to be a science geek and I have always been afraid of A&P but it's not scary with her!

Pay attention to her lectures and make sure to do the objectives those are test questions. Mark anything in your notes that she makes references to repeatedly. She will work with you if you are having trouble and gives plenty of bonus credit through out the semester.

LOVE HER! She is one, if not, the best teacher at SSRC! Her lab class is a little hard but she can help you so much, and explains things really well. Such a sweetheart, wish I had her again. You do have quizzes every class, and HW quite a bit, but they are easy. Definitely recommend. P.S. you NEED your lab manual, that is your text book.

Took A&P Lab I and II. This professor is the BEST, especially if you really want to learn something. She loves teaching and is a TRUE teacher. Take any course with her, it is worth it!

Dr. Sowell is an amazing teacher. She teaches very difficult subjects, but she makes them crystal clear. If you try and come to class, she will do everything she can to help you pass. She is extremely down to earth and makes everyone feel as if they could come to her with any problem.

The material isn't super easy, but Prof. Sowell makes it fascinating and easier to understand. Tests aren't bad if you listen in lecture. I stopped taking notes after the second test and still got a 98 for the class. If you get a study-buddy, you'll definitely do just fine.

The lab is fast-paced. You need to memorize the skeletal system and muscular systems in a pretty short amount of time; getting a study-buddy or study group is helpful. She lets you out early every class, and she is always willing to help. The practicals can wreck your nerves, but if you study for both of them, you'll be OK.

This is the second class I've had with Dr. S. She is the most respected professor at the South Santa Rosa campus. Anatomy & Physiology is a hard class because you have to remember a lot of things at a fast rate. She is a very clear and helpful teacher but you must study. She doesn't make anything harder than it needs to be.

Do the study reviews for each chapter and it will help on the test.

Make sure you understand everything before the test.

she is a great teacher I had her for a&p2 and microbiology she doesnt try to make the test tricky. if you study well you should do fine. you dont need the book all the test questions come straight from the notes. you can always go to her and she is very willing to help.

My favorite teacher ever! I took her for A & P 1 & 2 with labs at the SSR campus, as long as you pay attention and study you will pass. She is very helpful. If you have a question don't be afraid to ask. She gives you a study guide for the midterm/final exam. If you study those & ppt's you're golden. And she usually does extra credit.

Hands down one of the best teachers I've ever had. She's super eager to help students and really wants to see everyone succeed. Wish I could have her forever. Do whatever you can to have her as your professor!

Professor S is awesome. She has recorded lectures to watch and her sense of humor comes through. Straight forward class, with easy to understand grading. Read the material and take notes, you'll do just fine. Great refresher course and counts for a biological science. Weekly discussions about current applicable topics.

One of the best professors I have ever had. There was a total of 6 exams, 10 discussion posts, and homework assignments every week. The homework and discussions were super easy, just finish them on time. Exams were not hard, usually multiple choice. Very organized and clear grading criteria.

Dr. Sowell was wonderful. I took her for A&P I and A&P II and never once was left hanging if I had a question or felt as if I was teaching myself due to a lack of involvement. She is one of the most down to earth individuals and always ready to extrapolate on major concepts (like CARDIO-). Thanks for everything Dr. Sowell!
