Expects lots of different criteria than in assignment instructions. Gives feedback for future assignments rather than for the assignment at hand. Contradictory info and instructions. Hard marker and won't explain why some areas. Posts info close to due dates rather than at beginning. Tries to find issues with everything. One of the worst profs. 0/5
Professor creates videos and announcements with additional assignment instructions about a week before the assignments are due. Info is not in assignment instructions or in rubrics. Textbook readings don't often relate to lectures and is only used for second assignment. If you ask for help with resources mentioned, he tells you to research.
I took Professor Moby for Thesis 3 Studio course. Professor Moby provided clear structure and consistent feedback throughout the term, which really helped me with the outcome of my project. I attended almost all of his office hours, and he would spend time explain questions. His dedication to student learning and genuinely cares about you.
I've had the privilege of taking three courses with professor Moby, and I can honestly say they've had a huge impact on my academic journey. His guidance, dedication, and thoughtful feedback have helped me grow so much as a student. He encouraged us to have creative design. One of the best professors I've had—highly recommended!
This professor is very knowledgeable, sketches a lot with students, shows lots of projects. He is nice and friendly. I recommend everyone to choose this professor.
Hard marker and does not give clear feedback. Marks deducted and no explanation given. When questioned, he said there was no reason. Marks removed for no reason? Others had the same issue and grades increased as a result. Asked for extra work not in instructions or rubrics and gave irrelevant feedback at times. Very subjective, biased and critical.
No clear grading criteria. Expectations for assignments greatly differed from assignment instructions and rubrics. Feedback at times wasn't relevant to the assignments. Kept trying to find faults with a couple of assignments before saying he could find nothing wrong. Then why the deducted mark(s) and lower than 100% if nothing was wrong.
No clear grading criteria / feedback. Assignment videos showed he expected a lot more than was covered in the instructions and rubrics. When asked about examples, he lied about the school not allowing him. Other professors had no issue. Didn't want copying or to share templates. It's more about paying for more resources (expensive).
Hard marker. Unclear in feedback and grading or with feedback pertaining to future assignments. Deducted marks not explained. Wasn't informative during zoom for my inquiries. Tried his hardest to find something wrong with each assignment but wouldn't elaborate on the grades. A circled area and notes saying great work but a lowered grade (good)???
Unclear grading and feedback with grades unexplained. Expectations for assignments don't match the instructions or rubrics. Easily 50% additional work expected not mentioned in instructions or rubrics. Wasn't helpful by email or zoom when needed help. It was clear he marked by what he liked often and kept looking for things to deduct marks on.
Expections in assignment videos varied from the assignment instructions and rubrics. Grades often unexplained and unpertinent feedback. Lowered grades and provided unpertinent feedback, and when questioned he backtracked. Heard from a classmate that he did the same to her but he increased some marks after she put him on the spot. Awful experience!
Really? Unrelated feedback or unexplained comments, circling, or grades. One zoom hour for all students in all his classes and didn't get a chance to ask him what I needed, and didn't respond by email. Just a bad experience in the class, and it's all because of the professor who may be an expert but had an attitude of 'his way or the highway.'
Poor overall experience. Expectations didn't match the instructions and rubrics. Hard marker as he removed marks but provided no feedback as to why. Lectures were a farce with perhaps one slide mentioning upcoming assignments. May be a professional but can't teach, especially not to the standards of the university or of an accredited BID program.
Disappointing course, lectures, and professor. Doesn't know how to teach or explain properly, as evidenced by discrepancies between expectations/feedback/grades and rubrics/instructions. Just awful!!!
Not a pleasant experience in this class despite doing well. Poor feedback and reasons for lowered marks. Not very supportive. Irrelevant feedback. Glad they changed the program but a bit too late.
Professor made the class dull and more difficult than it needed to be. No examples provided and assignment videos often provided extra expectations that differed from the instructions. Feedback was interesting to say the least. An industry expert perhaps, but not in being a university professor.
I wish another professor had been available for this course. I say this because of a poor experience when it came to seemingly irrelevant feedback, and unexplained reduced grades and notes. He made the coursr more difficult and confusing than it needed to be. Poor lectures with many mistakes. Each assignment had an explanation video. No just no!
It boils down to the following. Feedback provided not relevant to that assignment only to future assignments or what else could be done. No actual feedback for that assignment is provided to justify the grades. In other words, you're not told what was the reason you got that grade or what you got 'wrong.' Extra instructions not in assignments.
One case of 'those that can't do, teach.' I've never seen the embodiment of that saying quite so starkly, but here we are. Likes to hear himself talk. Constantly looking to find something wrong with your assignments. Don't get me started on feedback and grading, but others seemed to have issues as well with this based on the reviews.
I know a quite few people who challenged or are in the process of challenging his grading because it doesn't make sense. Feedback doesn't apply to current assignment but to future ones. No relevant feedback for current assignments is provided. Grades aren't backed up or explained. All classes with him are harder and more frustrating than needed.
Professor Chaudhry's industry knowledge is unmatched. Every lecture connects real-world application with academic theory. Absolutely inspiring!
One of the most respectful and professional instructors I've had. His insights into the design industry are gold for aspiring professionals. Thank you prof. Moby for your help and support.
Tough but fair! He pushes you to excel and challenges you to think like a designer, not just a student.
Excellent professor I ever had at Yorkville University. His feedback is always constructive and actionable. I left every critique session feeling more confident and clear feedback. Happy I had him as my professor.
Professor Chaudhry is highly respectable, always calm and supportive. He genuinely wants students to grow. His lectures are engaging and full of industry relevance. You don't just learn design—you learn to think design and apply in your projects.
Highly organized, professional, and knowledgeable. Assignments are clear, and expectations are always communicated. He brings real architectural experience into the classroom. You can tell he's passionate about shaping the next generation.
I loved how much he emphasized concept development and design thinking. He's a visionary with strong technical depth. His critiques helped me land an internship. He's a true professional, and it shows in how he prepares us for the industry. Thank you professor Moby Chaudhry for making a better designer.
If you're serious about interior design, take his class. He'll raise your bar and prepare you for the real world. Will take him again for next studio class.

Professor Chaudhry challenges you to raise your own standards. I came out of his course stronger in both skills and mindset. He's very accessible outside class and really takes time to mentor. I appreciate how much he invests in his students.
He is a brilliant educator. From sketching techniques to software guidance, everything was practical and relevant. Every class with him felt like a professional studio. We were treated like designers, not just students. Recommend to all students who want to learn design and improvise their design skills.
Highly organized, professional, and knowledgeable. Assignments are clear, and expectations are always communicated.
Good professor with great industry knowledge. Will take him again.
Professor Chaudhry is knowledgeable, knows how to teach to students need more attention, I took many classes with him, he was always wailing to give me time I needed.
Overall great learning experience. The assignment instructions are pretty vague but thank goodness Professor Moby took the time to explain everything. He is also very responsive and available for his students. I really enjoyed taking this course with him.
Not much to say - great professor with good kind heart.
I highly recommend taking a class with Professor Moby. I had him for two courses. He kept the class entertaining while also teaching us well.
Professor Moby is amazing! He makes learning fun. He gives a decent amount of follow up tasks, but is willing to work with you and accommodate to your needs. He is great! 10/10 recommend!!
Prof with genuine passion for interior design and empathy for students. Will take the time to help if you need and often ends class early. Will 100% recommend to all students.
Hard grader but good knowledge professor.
I truly loved his studio class. Made a big impact on my project!
I failed the class bcz of my poor performance but his teaching style made me take the class again with him. I passed with good grades after re-taking.
Good professor.
Gave me a low grade after giving me excellent feedback and when I asked him why the low grade, he said there was no reason for it. Next day, my grade had been changed to fit the feedback he gave me or an A. He gave me a low grade for NO reason.
Gave little feedback (all positive), and some that was not pertinent to that assignment. Gave a low grade on two assignments and when questioned why, he said "Oh, there's no in particular reason why." Who gives low grades with positive feedback? Also gave contradictory info throughout the course. When I did what he said, he marked it as wrong. ???
This professor gave little feedback that was usually pertinent to future assignments or irrelevant. Gave lower grades after giving positive feedback during presentations. When I saw my grade after, the mark was a 70. When I asked him why, because he only gave good feedback, he didn't reply and changed my grade to an 89 for a project. Frustrating.
Disappointing and frustrating. He didn't mark according to the rubrics but to whatever he wanted. Feedback was not relevant to the project at hand, but he said it was to future projects (not often though). I didn't do something that he said I could do, and got marked lower for it, for no reason. He changed the grade after I questioned him.
Made the class more difficult than it needed to be. 1) often irrelevant feedback, 2) positive feedback but low grade, 3) when asked him why the low grade, he didn't answer and he raised it significantly, 4) if you didn't do what he suggested (which was a matter of his personal opinion), he would reduce your grade for that assignment and future ones
What was the issue was the professor, his limited and positive feedback during zooms but irrelavant feedback on the school website. This meant good zoom feedback but lower grades. When he says it's a fantastic project and he likes it, you expect to do decently. Wrong, got a 68%. Sent him an email, and he changed it to 87%. He marks as he pleases.
Worst experience at this school was with this professor. Emailed him about questions I had and he said to go to the zoom, where he didn't answer my questions. Feedback was confusing as it didn't relate to what was needed for that assignment. Looks like I'm not the only one who had lower grades for no reason that were changed after questioning him.
Marks as he pleases, not by the rubric. Feedback is little, doesn't mention anything on the rubric or assignment, but rather mentioned future assignments. For an assignment, he thought I should do something his way, which would be a hazard. I didn't. Feedback: I could have done more of what he said. Got a lower grade, he raised it after an email.
Doesn't care about students and how well they understand the content. Poor feedback. Grading and feedback don't match rubrics. Contradicting information. Do what he says according to his opinion and you'll do fine, otherwise he'll lower your mark. Question him about it and he'll raise your grade since he can't give a good reason for the grade.
When you think it can't get worse, it does. He made everything more difficult than it needed to be. Unfair grades that he raised when I emailed him because he said there were no reasons for the low grades. Awful feedback. Every class with this prof was awful. Got the impression he didn't like me because the grade issue happened in every course.
Hated this class because of the professor. The feedback and grading were not clear and did not adhere to the rubric. Received a couple of low grades, emailed him about it. He didn't respond but my marks were significantly higher. How is that possible if I did so poorly despite gold feedback? Lecture were precreated and not by him.
This 'professor' should not be teaching. Can't teach, properly mark, or give proper feedback. Lectures were created by someone else in the past due to dates on slides. When I needed help, I couldn't really get in touch with him and never answered the questions I asked. Wanted assignments done his way (subjective), otherwise your grade would drop.
Disappointing
Don't pretend you care about students when you constantly give poor feedback that doesn't adhere to rubrics, you mark randomly and lower people's grades for no reason, and can hardly be reached for help. Why be a professor if you can't teach?
If you need help, don't bother asking the prof. Won't be helpful. If you get a lower grade and little or positive feedback, question him. I did that and my grade somehow changed by easily 20%. If my assognment was that poorly done, why increase my grade and admit 'there was no reason for that,' only I dodn't do everything you wanted.
Awful experience. Frustrating. What was supposed to be a great class turned into the bane of my existence because of a professor that didn't care, wasn't helpful, didn't mark by rubrics, and would seemingly give you random grades that didn't match the limited but positive feedback.
This professor seemed to pick random numbers as grades, which did not relate to the oftem very limited but positive feedback. Class was made more difficult as a result.
As much as I would like to block this course out of my mind, I can't. That's how awful this course and professor were. Course could easily be improved by changing the professor with soemone who marks according to the rubrics, gives good feedback, and marks fairly.
Worst professor. Didn't mark fairly, and when I asked him about it, he told me that essentially there was no reason and I could have implemented more of his subjective suggestions. Asked him about the feedback and how that related to my grade he said it didn't, but for future assignments. Day after, my grade was increased. Really?
Might as well just have the lectures compltely online if you repeat the slides. Unfair marker. Received a lower grade and I asked him about it by email. I checked my grades a couple of days later, I had an 87% (from 72%). Feedback actually not relevant to any of the assignments. By zoom he said I should implement more of his suggestions.
To be a professor you should know how to teach in general, but also how to teach your area of expertise. You should also mark fairly according to the rubrics and guidelines mentioned in the course. Should also be fairly easy to reach by email for any questions. This course and professor were anything but that.
This professor should not be teaching at all. Had hard marking professors at this school, and finished with a good grade, but at least they cared about the students and the profession. This professor did not.
If I could have changed my professor for this course I would have. He should not be a professor.
I don't think the class is the worst though it felt like it, but the professor certainly is. Seems like he likes the power and lowering people's grades on a whim. He'll only give you a fairer mark if you qurstion him as he often doesn't give decent reasons for the lower marks. Poor and little feedback.
Subpar professor, teaching, and overall experience. This sucks considering how expensive the classes, books, and extra things are.
Avoid this professor like the plague. You wkn't find any help or support from him. Confusing and contradictory info/instructions and feedback. Lowered my grade for no reason, and he raised it accordingly after I questioned him about it, and after I contacted the school about unfair grading.
Even a disaster is predictable. This course and professor were worse.
This course was horrible to the point of feeling worse than Chernobyl. The professor was the reason.
This class was like dying a slow death. The mistake was the professor. Course had potential.
For the final assignment, the professor gave me limited but really good feedback. I see my grade and it's 70%. Asked him about it and said a couple of tiny things. Like one image should have had this or been brighter. Main problem was I didn't incorporate many of his personal suggestions. He quickly and accordingly increased my grade to 90%.
Change the professor to significantly improve the course and students' experiences.
Professor might be knowledgeable and certified but acts like on a high horse. Doesn't mark fairly and gives no reason why and if you question him, he increases your grade. Little and irrelevant feedback.
Professor was not helpful and could not teach or mark properly.
Looks like I'm not the only one who had an awful experience with this professor regarding grades, feedback, emails/zooms, and overall experience.
I think he is by far the the best professor I had in my years at the uni.
his teaching style is easy to follow. You need to do the work and he gives detailed feedback. I am taking him again.
Good experience with prof. Moby Chaudhry. Will recommended to anyone who want to learn design and industry trends.
Will take him again. Took him for 4 studios as well. All students love him!
Respected prof. took him for majority of my studio courses, and learned so much from him experience.
love and admire his teaching style! please take him if you want to learn.
