Very good teacher for Linear Algebra (can not remember course number). Very helpful, and nice to you if you pay attention in class and answer his questions.
I hated calc, but went every day for Mohamed. He's laid back (but makes you work) and is very nice to look at.
Very good, the average on the last exam (#2) was 10 pts over every other math 146 class.
A nice teacher, laid back, and easy to talk to.
he's awesome, i would honestly recommend him for any math class. class wieth him is fun and interesting. It never gets boring, and he's very helpful
I LOVE THIS CLASS!!!EVERYONE MUST I REPEAT MUST TAKE THIS CLASS!IT'S SO MUCH FUN!OH YEAH!REALLY GOOD PROF!
Awesome teacher...I'm not a math-smart person, but he helped me understand. Does lots of examples, and answers any questions you might have. Very fun and easy-going teacher...if you have to take applied calc, take it with him!
I know calculus isn't that fun, but Mohamed always seemed to make me want to learn more. Now that I have had him as a calc professor I wouldn't want to have anyone else teach me!
Baghzali made this semester of math a great one. Calc is a very hard subject for me and he helped me out anyway that he could. I would go to his office and he would stay as late has he needed to so that I would understand it and I thank him so much for that!
Mohamed is awesome .. and not just because he's a soccer player. :) There were times when I just didn't understand things and he would explain it a million different ways and still be willing to explain more. He's really easy to talk to and makes class a blast!!! Mohamed is awesome!
He is a great teacher! He makes the class hard but he is a great teacher so it is easy to get a good grade in. He also is very helpful, you can get ahold of him very easy and he is great with explaining things. He makes it very clear about how to do the problems. His classes are very fun too!
Baghzali is an excellent teacher for both of these classes. I had him for 3 semesters total, and I know I would not have done very well if he wasn't my teacher. He is extremely smart and makes the class interesting. I would recommend him to anyone.
Mohamed is the HOTTEST teacher I have ever had! HIs teaching is EXCELLENT, he helped me out so much. I learned so much from him even though it was so hard to concentrate on Math when he is SOOOO HOTT and dresses so GOOD! Overall, I learned a lot and will never forget him, for how HOT and Funny he is
He was an awesome teacher for math! It was the first time I had gotten an A in a math class since my sophomore year in high school, I would recommend him to anyone taking applied calc, he knows what he is talking about
He's awesome!!!
Mr. Baghzali is a very helpful teacher. I am horrible at math but he made it a lot easy for me. Not only is he a good teacher but he made the class fun. I would advise you to take him if possible for your math class!!
He is a great teacher, and I have to say that so far in my 1.5 years of college, he is the best teacher that I have had at NDSU. The way he teaches is great, because he really wants everyone to learn the material and makes it interesting instead of boring. I would and do recommend him to everyone.
Mr Baghzali is a wonderful instructor I have ever had. He is so dedicated, kindness and generous to students. He explains the material so well and he is so patient to students.Math is so boring and he makes it become interesting. I was so lucky to have him as my Math instructor. He is so good.
Great teacher. Really cares about the students and how well they are learning. One of the best teachers that i have ever had.
Great teacher!! Exlains things well. Really enjoyed him as a person.
He is the best teacher I've ever had. He knows what he's talking about and can explain it very well. It doesn't hurt that he is the most fun teacher too.
Creepy!
He is an ass of a human being. He's incredibly arrogant and thinks he's smarter than he really is.
He was very hard on students who didn't grasp the materials right away and actually made two students cry when he embarrassed them in class. Some girls thought he was cute and sucked up, was annoying.

Definitely the best math teacher i have ever had. He relates to students very well and respects them.he has high expectations and wants his students to work hard and do well. I highly recommend him to anyone taking this class.
Great instructor, willing to work with students on difficult issues. Understanding, and funny as hell. Nice guy, definately recommend him.
Very easy to learn from, know his stuff, and I got an A
good at explaining things. he has very high expectations for all of his students, but sometimes he can be very rude when people don't meet his expectations

Great Teacher
This is a cool professor
cant understand him bad english
He is very smart, but also condescending. He doesn't want to help students outside of class. He goes at a decent pace and the tests aren't terrible. He doesn't seem to understand that some students just don't grasp a concept on the first time, and doesn't want to help them if they don't.
Awesome. He explains procedures exceptionally well, especially how different formulas and functions are derived from the most basic concepts.
This man is amazing!! I would come to his class even if I wasn't enrolled just to listen to his voice! But really, he is a great teacher, and if you put in the effort he recomends, you will do well in the class. He always thinks that everyone thinks he is "an ass" but I don't know why anyone would think that about him. He is a god.
I took this class in the summer and even though I was dreading it, the class wasn't that bad. If you keep up on all the homework and study for the quizes you should do fine. If you are struggling on a concept in the class I found him very helpful when I went in to talk to him. He does expect you to keep up with the homework though.
Good teacher and funny. If you have problems with him it's more likely your fault and not the other way around. You will know the course when done.
Awesome teacher.
Good teacher. I hear it is much better to get him than the TAs for the class.
Good teacher and pretty funny too keeps you awake in class.
He's a really nice and cool professor to have ---good at explaining things and makes sure the class is having fun. :) As long as you pay attention and class and do the homework, you're in good shape.
AWESOME professor, makes the class enjoyable, took him both 146 and 147 and would not recommend everyone other than him!also he's a looker
You definitely need to attend class and pay attention, and do the homework he suggests (usually not turned in) in order to keep up. But as long as you do that you should be in good shape. As long as you're keeping up your end he willing to help you. I'm definitely going to try to take his classes again for my higher level math courses.
Mohamed was by far one of the best math instructors I've had in college. He knows how to explain the concepts in understandable ways. I highly recommend taking a class from him if you have the choice.
Fantastic teacher! Great personality, explains concepts clearly and concisely. 10/10 for sure!
GREAT TEACHER. GREAT GUY. WILL HELP AS MUCH AS HE CAN. ASK MANY QUESTIONS. DONT FEEL BAD IF HE MAKES FUN OF YOU (HAPPENS ALOT) HE IS JUST TRYING TO KEEP THE CLASS INTERESTING.
He was a little bit difficult to get used to at first but he really cares about how well you do in his class. If you have any issues, you just need to talk to him. All of the quizzes are problems done in class and so are the tests! DO THE EXTRA BOOK PROBLEMS!!! Those are ALWAYS on a test or a quiz! Overall a nice guy when you get to know him!
Excellent Professor. Mohamed really seems to care about his students, and really works hard to help out. His use of jokes really helps to keep the class interesting. Just don't fall asleep or text in his class. Pay attention, and you will do well.
WONDERFUL PROFESSOR! I hate math so much and have always been horrible at it, but Mohamed makes math clear as a bell and brings it down to a level where I can understand. I have never understood math before but I finally did this year thanks to Mohamed! Take as many maths from him as possible! Homework and attending class are mandatory!
He's tough and can be intimidating sometimes but it makes you want to work harder and do well. Show up to class, he frequently gives out points for attendance. I struggled to get a C in my pre-calc class in high school, in Baghzali's pre-calc class, I'm getting an A. Very good teacher, would recommend his class to anyone who isn't a slacker
Explains things well, not too hard to understand but has an accent. Quizzes can be difficult but provides exam practice sheets prior to exams.
Very Helpful and i loved the way he teaches. Very conceptual and makes it interesting.
He is an absolutely HORRIBLE teacher. He kicks students out of class and will yell and swear at his students. Completely inappropriate and not worth your time. Doesn't prepare you for the tests well at all. Ended up dropping it because he was failing me.
Mohamed was a fantastic professor. I definitely recommend him to anyone. He is very funny and requires you to ask questions, but he makes learning math more fun than you can imagine. He is very personable and truly a wonderful professor. If you can take him do it you wont regret it.
Goes a little fast, just ask questions and he will help you out
Great guy, he does not assign homework for the class but recommends you do it. The tests can be brutal, slightly harder than the other sections but you will learn a lot more in the end.
If anyone complains about being swore or yelled at, it is likely b/c they were goofing off or sleeping in class. If you want to learn, take this class. But material is hard, so if you're confused, which I always was, email/call/go to his office and he will tutor you. He is genuinely concerned for the welfare of his students. My fave prof by far!
Not as good as everyone says!
This class is not easy, so don't expect to be lazy and do well. Extra credit is offered so take advantage of it. Do the extra practice problems in the book because those are very important for tests. He is friendly, always willing to help, and enjoys what he does so be sure to ask for help if you need it!
Great teacher, he is entertaining while he teaches and as long as you go to class and work on practice problems you will do fine!
He moves at a pretty fast pace so it is hard to fall behind. If you don't work hard you won't do well. So I recomend staying on top of all of the homework to do well and take advantage of the extra credit.
Moves fast, will force you to leave class if catches you using your cell phone(and he WILL find out). Quiz every week. If you just go over notes, and study the in-class problems he does (always write down) you will be able to succeed. Drops 2 lowest quizzes so you have a little wiggle room.
I took his 4 week class. It was very challenging and there were HUGE amounts of studying and homework.Giving a 4 credit class in 4 weeks is a challenge but he did a pretty good job. I would take another class from him. Go in during office hours. He is very helpful.
He is very good at considering what the students need. He had good communication with the students and made sure we knew the material.
By far the best person for Math of any kind. If you wish to learn. I always hated Math and still do, but would not mind taking as many Math classes if he teaches
Best Professor I have ever had bar none! Made math easier to understand. I highly recommend him for any math!
Nice guy, does a good job at teaching material in class, but also challenges you to learn concepts on your own. He won't hold your hand, but he will help you when you seek him out. Getting an A wasn't easy in this class, but Mohamed helped my performance on exams.
He goes through examples in depth and really covers things so that you will understand them. He gets mad when you don't do the homework and even though attendance isn't recorded he often gives bonus points on random days to whoever shows up. Good teacher I would recommend.
Mohamed is a great teacher as long as you are willing to put in the effort. Listen and take notes in class, show up on time, and don't take your phone out and you and Mohamed won't have any problems. He can also be quite funny and I enjoyed his class.
He is a great professor and very funny. Sometimes his accent makes it hard to understand but he is a good teacher and will help you with anything you come to him with.
He was a great teacher! He actually made me enjoy learning Calc. His tests are quite difficult, but that just made me want to try harder. I would definitely reccomend taking this class with him!
Mr. Baghzali is a great professor who goes out of his way to help out any students in need of help. He made this class easy and overall less confusing than any other math classes I have taken...
tests are hard
Be prepared to be cussed at daily during class by him. The majority of my class failed last semester. The tests are very hard and not like review sheets or anything in the book. The test is the same for all of NDSU's math 103 classes.
Anyone who gives Maxx a poor review likely didn't put much effort into the class they took from him. He is more than willing to put in extra time to help all students. The only downfall is that his exams never have the same types of questions as the homework; he definitely tests your knowledge of the concepts, not specific questions.
By far the best teacher I have had! I hated math before this and struggled, and he made learning math easy. He was always willing to help in his office hours. The tests are very hard, and you DO need to study for them. I did all the book problems to understand concepts and then did the application problems and got in the 90's on the tests.
I recommend his class to everyone who has to take MATH 103. He's a great teacher and makes everything really clear. His class is well paced and thorough. He takes his job seriously and it shows. He's also really helpful and nice if you go talk to him. Sit in the front and he will respect you more.
Hes a great teacher that actually cares about his students.
Told us the first day he didn't care if we passed or failed. Ran through course material and would give a quiz at the end of the class period, and only got about 5 minutes to work on it. Had 3 exams plus a final which all together made up 70% of your final grade. Lots of out of class work. Plan on making this class your #1 priority in life.
He gives a lot of in class homework and quizzes, but if you go to class and put in your work out of class, you will do fine. Great teacher, most knowledgeable math professor I have had.
The class is not easy but Mohamed makes it bearable. He's a funny guy and I genuinely enjoyed going to lecture. Attendance is definitely mandatory as he likes to give pop quizzes and in class assignments, and the suggested practice problems are crucial. Tests and quizzes are pretty difficult, but he adds extra credit to compensate.
He was really funny and sarcastic but he moved so quickly on the material that it was hard to keep up with what was going on at times. I worked my ass off and got only a C. That was the average class grade as well
Amazing Professor! Very clear and helpful. I went to a few of his office hours and study sessions which really helped. This class was not easy, but if you put in the effort and get help it definitely benefits you. Mohamed was hilarious and an awesome guy! Made the class pretty interesting. Note taking is necessary for this class.
The guy is awesome. Speaks perfect English so don't worry about that. Its not a bad class if you put in the effort to know the material and don't screw around in his class, because he will kick you out.
This professor is intimidating, but after a while he lightens up and I actually enjoyed his class. I was terrified after the first few classes. I thought I would be lucky to get a C (I'm a 4.0 student). I worked hard for it and ended with an A. I really liked that he teaches you what you need to know for tests. You will actually learn from him.
He's a tough professor and truly makes you work for your grade but overall he is a good professor.
Meanest teacher I've ever had. Very rude and cussed at us frequently. very hard tests and not good teacher
He was awful, I took the class up until the second test and dropped it. He was condescending, rude and made a point of embarrassing his students. The only thing that I actually learned in the class was that he piloted it, though he had no idea how to teach it.
You think it would be a everyday class, but no I was wrong. Its one day a week, and the rest is online where you have to teach yourself. I'm just fortunate I paid attention in high school. Be ready to make spend all day doing homework and having this class your only priority. He goes by the book, word for word, and is not sympathetic at all.
Very confusing, fast paced, got angry when he saw people on phones. Bummer.
I will say that he is excellent. If you do go to class, be attentive, and work hard, you will do very well. If you just take his class and plan to not do much, you will not like him. Has always given me time and he cares about his students. Explains why things are the way they are mathematically. He is not fake & I appreciate that!
Love the guy
I've taken math 103 4 times with him now and finally passed. You have to be ready to do the work if you want to get a good grade. He is always willing to help but you earn the grade you get. Gives extra credit and is fun to listen to.
I had him and thought he was great. The only reason I didn't get a better grade in the class was because I put forward the bare minimum. Lots of homework, I wouldn't suggest doing it the night before like I did the entire semester. I only pulled it off because I've done it my whole life and I'm pretty good at it.
Best math teacher I've had yet. Summer course was tough, but we voted for an extra class day and he showed up for that on his own time for only 5-6 students every friday. You can tell he loves the subject, and cares for students as long as they're trying and paying attention. I wouldn't mind taking another math class if he was teaching.
He's not as tough as they said. However, if you skip class you will not pass. Lots of homework. Dont do it on the last night before class!! Attending Emporium Lab 120mins per week.
Very easy to talk to and responds back quickly. Very easy to work with.
So I'm one of those students that has never been any good at math classes, but the professor was super nice and always willing to help. I was in his office sometime 2-3 time a week. I emailed him a question once at almost midnight and he replied not many teachers do that. I don't think I would of passed the class with any other teacher.
YOU CAN NOT START THE HOMEWORK THE NIGHT BEFORE. The first homework assignment took my friend and I roughly 6 hours to complete. The way the course is set up is irritating-basically, you're teaching yourself. Prof is fine as a teacher just kinda tough. Hates cell phones and you will get kicked out of class.
Mohamed is a strict professor which is why i liked him. He makes you put in the work if you want a good grade. I didn't like having to go to the math emporium 2 hour every week because it was inconvenient. Make sure you do the homework and turn it in, the points add up. Take each test 3 times to improve your grade
Very test heavy class. The class is also extremely too hard for the purpose of the course. (Ex: 7/15 failed this semester)
He was pretty nice, as a person I liked the he didn't put up with student's crap. However, every week was 2 hours in lab, 3 ch in guided notebook, 60-70 hw problems, 10 pt quiz. Plus exams. With it being so fast paced, huge workload, and having to teach yourself, with all my other classes to do - I just couldn't do the workload.
He is a very caring professor, you can tell he wants his students to succeed. He may be strict with the no phone policy but he just cares of his students success, its only 50 minutes once a week. There is a lot of homework though since its a 3 credit class and only once a week. If you do the work well you will get an A.
He's strict about cellphone policy. Math Lab 2hrs every week. He's REALLY care about his students. It's not a tough class but the materials for final is pretty heavy if you couldnt rmb it all. Got A and B during exams but B for final. He put extra credit in ur exam without telling you. Really nice professor!
Math98 was way too difficult of a class to not be given credit for. Do not take this class online you will do everything yourself with no help from him. For reference I had a C in this class and had an A in Math104 with another prof.
Baghzali is a caring professor if you are not a slacker. If you put in the time and actually do the assignments there shouldn't be a problem getting an A. Dont use your phone in class he will kick you out. He gives you 10 attempts on every quiz and 3 attempts on every test except for the in class tests. There is no reason to do bad in this class.
103 is a hard class. However, Baghzali gives you plenty resources in order to learn it. If you're willing to work for the subject, he makes it easy to study. He is a bit strict. If he sees you on your phone in class he will send you out. He has also sent two students out for excessive talking after warning them. Not for students who don't care.
Good teacher, seems strict at first but if you get to know him he is nice. Class meets once a week, may seem pointless but be sure to attend, occasionally gives extra credit and take attendance. Notebook pages are collected in class, you will not receive credit if you do not stay for the whole class. I highly recommend "live lectures" with him.
Being that we only met once a week, professor Baghzali was really good at introducing a week's worth of work in 50 minutes. He cracks jokes a lot in class. Really helpful at answering questions and very accessible outside of class.
He cares a lot about how well students due and is always reminding class of his office hours for extra help. I haven't been in school for 4 years and I can say he does a damn good job explaining everything. Stick to the course calendar and you can't go wrong. Do everything you need to do and you'll do great.
I took this class online and it was the hardest math class I have EVER taken. I am good at math, and his math class was something from another world because I did not understand any of it. His tests are very hard and nothing like his homework. I did all my homework and studied hard. If math is not your strong suit, I would NOT recommend him.
Not good
Forget the negative comments about this professor, they are very inaccurate. He cares more about his students and their success than any other professor. Of course students who take his class and don't do the work will not like him. If you care to learn, you will appreciate what he has to offer. Do not be blaming him when you are not studying!
I would say that hes the best professor Ive had at NDSU but considering that this university is just flooded with terrible professors left and right, that really wouldnt be saying a whole lot now would it
Mohamed is honestly a great professor. He gives you all the resources you could possibly get to pass this class. In this class you have everything you need to pass. If you fail your probably just lazy and not willing to put in the effort.
This class is set up to make you work. It has a lecture once a week where you review the past week's tougher material and briefly go over what is to come in the following week. He is a good lecturer but dislikes when students are distracted in class. He sent multiple students out for being on phones during class. Do the notes and homework.
I really liked the structure of this class and it helped me learn the material a lot. Some people don't like him, but it is usually the people that don't try or do their homework, and they can never take the blame of their actions so they have to put it on the prof lol. He cares about his students and gives extra credit points which help a lot.
The worst teacher I've ever had.
Math Emporium required 1-2 hrs a week. Teacher is super willing to help you at any time, if you put in the effort so does he. Don't get me wrong, this class is hard and you will fail if you don't show up for class and do the simple things like your note pages. Homeworks are long anywhere from 50-80 questions every week.
He made it possible for me to pass math 98 the second time around. If you struggle with math like myself, he is a great professor for that.
Mohamed is a VERY serious man when it comes to his class. There is a TON of homework every single week, and you cannot turn in your notebook pages outside of class. Show up to class!! You are not passing his class if you skip!!! The only nice thing about his class is that he gives some extra credit & gets rid of 1 bad score from each category
Class is once a week but be sure to get your work done early outside off class. Its not hard, just time consuming unless a topic is more difficult. It is not difficult to get a good grade, just be sure to get your work done well and do the required assignments. Baghzali himself lays out info clearly and expects you to pay attention, just do it.
Do not come into this class expecting to just breeze through it. It takes time and effort to get through it. If you follow the outline as he lays it out, you will do great, don't put this class off to the last minute as there is a lot of things due every week. Stay on top of things, ask for help, respect him and he will give you the time of day.
He is a very fair man. The set up of the class was not ideal for me but, it was pretty much a review of concepts J had already learned in high school. Just show up, actually do your work on time and you will definitely end with an A or a B.
I was (well, still am) scared to death of math. Any kind. I hate it, I cant grasp it, and its always been my greatest struggle in schooling. Mohamed Baghzali was amazing. He answered every question I asked, calmed my anxiety over the exams and due dates, and made the difficulty of school during COVID19 a little less scary. Great instructor!
He makes you work for your grade and holds you accountable. He gives you every opportunity to pass however, and will help you as much as needed (As long as you are prepared to learn and aren't just after free answers). He is very clear about what he expects and he is AMAZING at keeping grades updated. I loved him!
He is the reason I'm probably dropping out next semester. If you have to have him switch schools this guy is a waste of time and money. I spend the same amount of time as a part time job as I do doing homework in his class and I'm still failing. your paying this guy for you to teach yourself. If I have to retake his class I'm dropping out.
NOPE. Mohamed does not care for the students that struggle. Although he lays out his expectations clearly, he doesn't spend the time trying to help. The lecture is completely him going over a few questions and that is it. He does not teach (at all!) and you spend many hours doing notebook pages 60+questions per assignment and quizzes. would not rec
Mohamed does not care for the struggling students. He calls you out in class and has been extremely unprofessional in class. He does not understand that life happens and chooses to be rude about it. Especially with the pandemic, you could tell he was annoyed that he couldn't throw more at us as students. Would not recommend him at all.
Professor Baghzali is by far one of my favorite professors at NDSU. He has a genuine care for his student's success. And you can tell he likes being an instructor because he's good at it! I 100% recommend him as an instructor. He's funny, understanding, and fairly easy-going. Make sure to show up to class and participate.
The class is overall a bit challenging because there is so much material. You buy a guided textbook at the beginning of the semester, and basically teach yourself everything. Get ready to dedicate at least 6 hours a week to do homework. Mohamed himself truly cares and does the best he can to help and assist his students though, so just ask for help
He is a great professor and I thoroughly enjoyed being in his class! He gives you work and expects it to be done, but is willing to help you out. Also be sure to speak up in his class, I've noticed he appreciates it when there are a few people who participate and speak up in class. You can get an A or B easily if you put in the effort in class.
Professor Baghzali provides a great platform for learning and teaches in a very understandable way. He cares for his students and their success, and isn't afraid to call you out if he thinks you are capable of more. He gives a lot of homework but it's nothing unmanageable and it all helped me succeed in his class. Great professor!
I enjoyed being in his class. This Professor is the kind of guy who doesnt take anyones crap, if you dont care about his class and put in work he wont care about you. You have to want to do it. Participate. Participate. Participate! Its no fun if its only a one sided conversation the whole semester.
No patience for tardiness, laziness or foolishness. If you can keep your head down and get your work done, you'll be fine. There is a lot of homework, but the homework is repeatable and is mostly free points to act as a buffer for tests. There were many opportunities for extra credit and the lowest grade in many assignment "groups" was dropped.
PROFESSOR BAGHZALI IS GREAT AT TEACHING AND USES HIS EXPERIENCE TO MAKE SURE HIS STUDENTS SUCCED IN THE CLASS. HE HAS HIGH EXPECTATION OF HIS STUDENT TO ENSURE THEY LEARN THE MATERIAL AND GET A GOOD GRADE IN THE CLASS. IF YOU PUT IN EFFORT AND TRY YOU WILL PASS THE CLASS NO PROBLEM. HE IS ALSO VERY FLEXIBLE WITH MEETING OUTSIDE OF CLASS TO HELP YOU
Professor Baghzali is perfect for your math class, he pushes you throughout the semester and explains things even outside of the class. Lots of support offered, so just don't skip lectures and participate in class.
Single worst professor I have ever had
He is super rude to everyone unless you are a model student not to mention this course is so easy you can just use the text and nothing else to pass
Professor Baghzali is the single worst professor I've ever had. He talks down to you, and if you don't remember a complex equation you learned in sophomore year of high school he will ridicule you in front of the whole class . He is a very power hungry teacher. For incoming freshman do anything you can to not get him as a professor. very petty man
This was my favorite professor. He really cares about his students and wants to make sure you pass and succeed. He has so many options for office hours and is always available to talk if you need help. He had set up a zoom call with me once at 11pm to help me with something. He can be strict but means well and is so amazing.
Great Professor for math 103 although comes off strict he cares about his students and wants them to succeed. People that don't like him as a professor or think he's a bad teacher are simply wrong. The class is one day a week and mostly on your own making it the students responsibility to reach out if they need help. There is many places for help.
He was the single worst teacher I have ever had. He is petty and rude if things don't go his way and heaven forbid you have something happen and you miss class. He requires attendance and actually grades you partially for being in every class. He assigned so much pointless work also, because it wasn't helpful unless you taugh yourself.
Worst class by far. Want to pay thousand of dollars to teach yourself? Me neither. He teaches little to nothing in class. You have to go to a specific computer lab outside of class time for an extra two hours each week. Dont take if you actually want to learn something.
I am an older-than-average student and I can tell u this guy CARES about his students and their success. If you are willing to be a responsible student, you would love him! His explanations make perfect sense. The emporium is great for you to dive into the material first and then he explains it so nicely! Don't take his class if you are a slacker!
He has been my favorite teacher here. He actually taught me math and gave good examples and lesson plans. He truly does care about his students and wants you to succeed. That doesn't make his class easy, he makes you work for it. If you are slacker and don't value hard earned education you won't like his class. I will 100% take his class again.
Dr. Baghzali is a great teacher, he helped me pick my grade up after I thought I failed his class, tough teacher but cares a lot and well he might be intimidating I promise you that just treat him with respect and he will be the best math teacher. Come with a good attitude and be ready to learn!
This course was one day a week (attendance is worth points) and 2 hours in the math emporium. Even though class is early in the morning, I highly recommend going because it's worth points and the few questions he goes over are always on the exams. Lots of homework but if you work for it and attend class, you should easily pass this class.
He's not a bad guy, he's just not a good teacher.
It would have been okay, but having to spend 2 hours at a "math emporium" was a bit more than I cared to do. I feel like I didn't learn anything and taught myself what was basically the whole textbook. Bad. Do not recommend.
College algebra is a homework heavy class, with most of the work being done outside of the classroom. That being said, I really liked his teaching style and he explained things very clearly and in an organized fashion. While it's not required to attend class, it was extremely helpful for me. Love the grade spreadsheet.
I took this class in the fall of 2020, so it was over zoom, but I'm just now leaving this because I remembered an email he sent out. I had put off something until the last day, and it literally said "you should know better" and overall was super passive-aggressive and super unprofessional. He definitely knows math, but he'll treat you like a child.
Mr.Baghzali does not teach. If you take his class, you have to teach yourself the material on your own from the textbook and spend 2 hours a week at the campus computer lab doing so. Check your grades carefully because I had a problem with him inputting that I failed a test when I did not, which he blamed me for when I confronted him about it.
Do your work
This is the worst professor you will ever meet. My car got stolen on the same day as the midterm and he told me that wasn't a legitimate excuse and gave me a zero. Not accommodating and does not care about his students.
Mohamed is very funny and cares about your future. This is a self-taught class w/ review in class 1x/week. He was very helpful when I had issues with mylabmath not working. VERY homework heavy. 8-10 hrs a week w/ 2 hrs in the library a week. Mohamed is very funny but a stickler for the rules. Know how to manage your time and not wait til the end.
Awesome teacher that cares about his students, just make sure to keep up with the homework outside of class. It's not tuff but it becomes a lot of you just let it sit. If you struggle with lecture heavy courses and can handle the freedom of teaching yourself the material I would highly recommend this course.
I had him for Math103, and let me tell you, it's definitely not an easy class. There's lots of homework and attendance is mandatory but it's only once a week so it's really not that bad. The way he grades tests is very helpful because he offers extra credit on every single one of them. Show up, do your homework, and you'll be fine.
very very homework and outside the class heavy, not much actual guidance, and little no to helpful feedback whatsoever. there were quite a bit of assignments and mandatory 2 hours inside of the library on the computer of homework per week no exceptions, and there was very little guidance on any assignment. he also yelled at me and belittled me
Baghzali has clear instructions on what needs to me done. This professor is extremely understanding and works with students that are struggling, sending out emails to Baghzali is recommended because of the quick responses and extra help.
I liked Dr. Baghzali. The class was once a week and you had to go to the library for 1 or 2 hours depending on your grade to work on math homework. I usually got a good chunk of the homework done just during that time. He was very straightforward saying he'll kick you out of class if he catches you on your phone, which I actually liked. Smart man.
The professor is very responsive to emails and communication is key with him. The class was online and he was very transparent about the format of the class. I would take another class with him.
he moves to fast and is messy, he isn't neat about keeping it all in the same spot and is not pateint.
he's a decent teacher, but he's very particular about phones, and kicked out three people in one of our first lectures. there's an obscene amount of work- to give you an idea: the first full week of classes you get 61 questions, 6 pages of hw, two mandatory hours in the tutoring center, and an online quiz. it isn't hard, its just a lot, so be wary
He is tough
He is not a good teacher I would definitely take it threw a different college if you can but if you take it in class good luck
Mohamed wants the best for you. Some may think that he's super strict, but in reality, he puts down reasonable criteria to help you succeed in the class. Show up for each lecture and try your best and you'll easily pass the class. Also, he gives easy extra credit and is quite a good math teacher for being a college professor.
Do not take this class. It is so much work for something that you could so easily test out of. Sure, you only meet once a week, but to make up for that he has you go to the math lab for at least 6 hours a week. It's horrendous and downright evil.
Study hard
Very good
Very rigorous, would reccomend to try and test out. Hybrid class structure. There is weekly in person work, emporium hours, hw, quizzes, notebook pages, and a quiz. Three online and in person exams. One final cumulative exam. Utilize tutoring and optional TA lectures if possible. Do the work, ask questions, and be respectful and you will be fine.
Great professor. The class is only once a week so there's lots of work required outside of class. The professor is always willing to help and will answer your questions in class. He also offers a good amount of extra credit as long as you put in effort. In person exams are almost exactly the same as the practice exams, make sure to utilize them.
WAY too much work for a 3 credit, 100-Level class. I got an A, but it was not easy. I seriously recommend studying independently over the summer and then testing out of this. You are basically teaching yourself in this class anyway. The lectures are boring and not useful, but you will fail if you don't attend because so many points are attached.
My only advice is to try and test out of Math 98 as well as you can. This professor has gotten away with harassing some of his students over the phone. more than once. He won't do it on Zoom calls because he's aware they're recorded. He also takes his job too literally. So, if you were to do or say something wrong about math, he'll harass you.
You're essentially paying for videos he made in covid, in which he doesn't actually teach and you are required to spend 10+ hours weekly watching lectures and teaching yourself.
This class requires a lot of work, but the professor is helpful and wants you to succeed. Attend lectures, use the textbook, and try Unstuck ai for additional study prep - the extra effort will pay off with a good grade.
This is a teach it yourself class. Get ready for an absurd amount of homework online
He's the goat, just don't be lazy. Yeah you're required to do time in the math emporium every week, just use the time to do your assignments or notebook pages. There's no way you're actually too busy to not get the 2 or 1 hours in every week. It's free points so you get 2 birds with 1 stone. Tests are easy so long as you do practice tests and try.
he has a lot of homework and the tests can be tough. But go into his office hours, he actually cares so much and is super helpful if you are willing to help yourself. there were a few times I didn't do as well on a test as I would have liked and after going into office hours he would give me extra credit/points for trying to learn.
I enjoyed this class. Was a lot of work but the structure is set up for you to understand the concepts rather than just memorizing them. Just put in the necessary time and focus and you will do good! The teacher was great overall!
This class is one day a week, only thing done in class in review. You have to work for the grade you get. Tests are very difficult and hard to pass. Mr.Baghzali is very respectful and will work with you if you are having a hard time in his class.
Online classes require that you learn on your own. He provides great lectures, a calendar to plan your work, and incredible exam review videos! He cares greatly about his students and wants you to succeed. There's a lot homework, but obviously because its math! Prioritize and put in the effort and you will do great. Lots of extra credit as well
He yelled almost every class about how we are all failures. Requires 2 hours in the math lab a week. Would laugh if you asked for help. Taught yourself from homework, lectures = pointless. Homework heavy. Will kick you out for tech. Attendance was group work. No flexibility. Bullied students who answered, yelled when met with silence. Avoid him.
Most of these reviews have to be fake. This class was one of the worst math experiences I have ever had in my life. He does not teach you, he just complains about students during lectures and makes you teach yourself online. He commonly curses in class and makes fun of students. If you don't attend class, he won't grade your work.
While I do have respect for Mohammed, I would NEVER recommend a class of his. While he does know what he is talking about, Mohammed CAN NOT teach!!! You will teach yourself the whole entire course. I also recommend not taking him if you have hearing issues. Mohammad can not speak English well. Which was EXTREMELY hard to understand anything!!!!!
Prof. Baghzali is not a bad professor, it's just the system the math department has set up Math 103 and 105. This class if a very teach it yourself, every week you'll be assigned around 15-20 pages of notes that you must complete before the one time you meet with Mohamed that week. You also must log 2 hours in the Math Emporium a week, no less.
There's a lot of unnecessary time spent in the math emporium. Why not have tests and exams all in the classroom. There's online homework that has 50 questions each and you're supposed to also solve problems in a math textbook on top of all the other stuff.
Tough grader but good at explaining and acc cares about his students. he makes silly jokes in class which i appreciate. i don't know why someone said he doesn't know english when he literally speaks English better than me (a native speaker); tell me you didn't attend without telling me you didn't attend. would def take his class again
I took Mohamed 4 years ago and just thought id give a warning to all the freshman who are thinking about taking Math 103 with him. Don't do it you will hate your life as this man is the meanest and worst professor ive had my whole college career. Youre better off just taking it at Mstate and having the credit transfer over so you can have a life.
I didn't know a single person could ruin math for me. All of the positive ratings on here are fake. I have never met anyone who has enjoyed taking Mohamed as a professor, and I doubt anyone ever has. He lacks social skills and is terrible at teaching students. He has anger issues and should seek professional help. Stay away.
Mohamed's class structure is very difficult if you are a visual learner. You will teach yourself in this class. He has powerpoint videos that are a waste of time. So much unnecessary time spent in the emporium lab including tests... YES tests are SO LONG that you will take them in class and then have to take one outside of class. Avoid if possible.
I'll give credit where credit is due. He is very smart and does give out extra credit opportunities. With that being said, Mohamed lacks social skills and can't teach. I would recommended an online alternative to his class. Wouldn't be any different since his class is premade videos. Then you don't have to sit through his class temper tantrums.
Mohamed teaches his class via premade videos and you follow along with his guided notebook. Sounds simple but it's not. His notebook does not follow his videos well. Often leaving many pages untouched so you have to either figure it out or find in textbook, or get a 0 for not doing it. Upwards of 60+ question homework and 10 question quizzes. Avoid
I took Mohamed last year and heard some current students very frustrated with him so i'll just write my experience. He is the worst professor i've had so far. So much homework, very little teaching, and just a hard person to understand. Sometimes he was nice, and then out of nowhere he would be angry. Blames his students for his failures as a prof.
Have fun teaching yourself and then him telling the class they fail because they don't put in the effort to pass his class. I'd rather go to clown school than deal with him.
Didn't know you could “teach” math with powerpoints until this class. And i use the word teach very loosely. Just take the course online and save your time spent at the emporium and in class.
Constantly talks past the time when class ends and does not take attendance until the very end. I think he takes pride in making people late for their next class. He's also very passive aggressive.
Barely even taught the class, relied too much on the online textbook, and wasn't helpful.
He gives an absurd about of homework, and he's always wearing a mean, scary look on his face which made him totally unapproachable when I needed help with my work.
Mohamed is a great professor, if you also put in the work. Take the class seriously, ask him for help when needed, listen in lectures. You'll pass the class easily. He has dry, sarcastic humour, which may make him seem mean, but he is lovely. The homework is easy, but it is tedious. He is always available for extra help outside of class.
soooo much homework
He's a good person but you need to put the effort in don't fall behind
Don't have him as your professor.
He knows what he it talking about but is a narcissist looking to cause problems. Will waste time in class sometimes 25/50 mins having a tantrum about a minority of the class not going to class on Tuesday while it waste time. He will pace back and forth scanning for things to pick on students for. Unprofessional and this behavior creates tension.
I get the no phone policy but there comes a point where you have to let people fail themselves and not waste time swearing and freaking out over it, for gods sake. Difficult course if you are not strong in math despite it being below a 100 level course, you will need a tutor if you want to pass, don't know If I will with Final approaching.
He comes off stern and unflexible with hw extensions, but he cares about the students and collects data on what's the most effective. He does extend hw if he knows your a good student so show up to his office hours. He will say "you should know this" but regardless of your math beforehand, you will get it. Turn in everything and you'll pass.
