He is a little difficult to understand but after a couple of classes you'll get use to him.If you show up & show interest in his class & do the homework he will help you.The course is not easy but he gives you every possibility to pass. I am terrible in math but he saved me. 3 tests & dept final, great test reviewer as well.

He is the best Math professor ever and he is hot. His reviews are tremendously great and the testes are really easy. Although I love Math, at times it is really complicated, but once you study and ask question Professor Benzid is always there to give a helping hand. He is so cool.

it took me three semesters to pass the compass exam fall winter and spring...Ben Zid went throught the main topics on the test...the grade u need is a 35 and i got a 50...take him he is funny and makes class interesting.

Excellent professor that is very patience and persistent. Once you show interest you will pass Mat 104. I love Maths wish I was straight A plus in maths. Prof Benzid help you learn and grasp formulas so that you able to pass math. 3 test, uses a online text book by Pearson great tool n he is hot. Great class take him.

BEN ZID goes straight to the point.His class is basically done to prepare you for the COMPASS. Be sure ...you will pass the COMPASS if BEN ZID is your professor. Looks like he teaches fast because he is not redundant and teaches you the topics that come on the exam. Excellent professor !!

Ben-Zid is a fast paced Prof, that teaches you how to do the problem, not how the problem is done. Witty, very smart and understanding, he teaches the class how to succeed in math. Always stops to answer questions, teaches EVERYTHING thats on the test. DO YOUR HOMEWORK and don't text in class. Follow that and you WILL pass this class...guaranteed.

He is a very fast teacher. Make sure you do your home work and ask questions about it, if you don't understand. He is a cool guy and very laid back.

Going into this I was not looking forward to math at all. I am terrible at it! However, Prof. Ben-Zid helped so much. All you have to do is show him you care and are trying. Not even sure if I deserved the A- considering I did pretty terrible on the exams, but he provided help and I took it. TAKE HIM!

Okay so this guy is ok , I took the class every tue and thurs and for some reason he started coming late every thurs. he is not the best professor in the world but he is ok, his teaching skills are not that great but heis an easy grader, some home works online were hard but you can pull through if you try

Professor Mohamed is such a caring professor. He was always patient in explaining material, re-explaining it to those who didn't get it. Very detailed, extensive reviews so we are always prepared for exams and the final. He also has a sense of humor. I'm very satisfied with taking his class, I wished my previous math professors were as good as him!

He's always late but it's not a prob b.c he teaches you everything within that time frame. The exams are easy and a review is posted before each exam & he goes over it. I always ask him for additional help during and after class (y). Also, hw is a must otherwise it'll hurt your grade but dw it's easy. DEFINITELY TAKE BENZID IF YOU NEED MATH!

I got an A for this class, but this is only because I already learned everything in highschool. The only students that pass the exam already had some background knowledge on this subject. He doesn't teach concept he tell you what formula to use for each specfic problem. Students who have no background knowledge on this subject didn't learn anythin

I'm not a math guy by any standards, and this man had the patience to get me through an algebra class. I was 1 in a class of 7 back in Spring of '15. His lessons were fine, and he would go back and explain something if you didn't understand it. He was pretty funny, and very understanding. Very knowledgeable on things outside of math too.

Helps you understand in every way the course. He is very approachable, talk to him if you have problems. Take good notes and do homework because the tests from there.

Prof. Ben Zid makes a boring math class interesting. He is funny and keeps students awake. He explains the same example as many times as needed until everybody understands it and answers all the questions. Drops the worst grade and gives you extra time for homework if you ask. You will have to pay for access to homework, but the book is included.

Professor Ben Zid is a caring and attentive Professor. He cracks a lot of jokes that are hit-or-miss for most but I thought they were funny. He also teaches each topic slowly and constantly asks if the class understands and even badgers to get the homework done (which is understandable since there is a lot). Overall, Professor Ben Zid is great!

He's very approachable, understanding and laid back. DO THE HW. The problems from the hw are a mirror image of the exam. Don't miss class though, a new topic is taught nearly every day so you can easily miss a big topic. Gives a lot of chances as well. Very cool teacher. I definitely recomend.

Favorite professor, hands down. Lectures very thoroughly, fair exams, and often extends homework deadlines. Very funny and easygoing, and is available after classes. He is, however, 10 minutes late all the time, but it was a very fun and easy class. Would definitely take him again for any math class.

Best math professor in John jay so far .Before coming to this college many people told me that all the math professors are trash etc but I just found out that its not true cause this professor actually teaches you well and helped me understand the topics. Although this hw is annoying cause you have to purchase ALEKS in order to the hw online.

Ben Zid is a great Professor. Although his lectures are pretty fast paced, he tries to make sure his students understand the work. His class is never boring and hes quite funny. Homework on ALEKS, three exams and final. He makes sure youre prepared for everything.

One of the better professor's at John Jay. I had him for MAT 105 and it was easy. We had to use ALEKS and it wasn't so bad. Show up and you need to pay attention if your bad at math. He was very lenient towards us and actually gave the class another chance at one of the tests. He makes corny jokes and stuff but I say laugh anyway.

Great class, never heard of social science math before, but I'm so glad I took this class. Professor is super helpful, he takes the time to answer questions, has a good sense of humor and is super understanding. Whole course is on Aleks, and the workload is pretty self explanatory. Would definitely recommend.

He was literally the best Math professor ive ever taken during college!!!! He recorded all the lessons and posted in on BB. Yes, there was A LOT of homework on Aleks but he gave us up to 3 chances to get a good grade in our exams! If anybody complains about him during this Fall2020 semester, is really bugging! He always responded my emails!!!

I truly enjoyed this Math Class with Professor Ben Zid. While the homework and quizzes were quite tedious. Professor Ben Zid was super understanding and really helps you learn. I never did well in Math and I felt I finally got taught it with a professor who actually wants their students to succeed. You will work for it but, it will be worth it.

This professor is really amazing, went the extra mile to make sure you did well, responded to emails quickly. He uploads his zooms on blackboard, his test are similar to the homework.

This was an online course, all of the work is done on connect math. There is a lot of homeworks and labs to do but if you stay on top of it, it isn't that bad. We were given extensions on most things, he really wants you to pass the class. As long as you do the work on time and show you are trying he will give you a good grade. Highly recommend!

I had him in my first semester(2019) for Mat 105. Have much respect for this professor. He is a very understanding and kind professor who strives for his students to do well. As with any other course, if you stay on top of your assignments you will be good. It takes a lot of effort to fail this course. Thank you for being an amazing professor!

So funny, genuinely fun being in his class. The work is all online through the aleks system, which I felt was a good way to do homework, plus he goes over everything in class. Really cares about his students and wants them to pass; he'll let you retake tests if needed. There's 3 exams and then the final, plus some quizzes on aleks.

Professor Ben Zid was a pleasure to have as an instructor. He had great charisma, and went through the topics in lectures, slow enough that if you didn't understand something you can ask for extra help. We used ALEKS for our homework, and ti-84 calculators were needed. Just pay attention and complete homework, and course will be a breeze.

Professor Mohammed was very chill and honestly, I believe a very good person at heart.He likes to tell jokes to light up the mood.What matters-Professor Mohammed teaches very fast and sometimes doesn't like to repeat himself.Homework matters but test matter more they will be your key to passing.Also final test is 100% of your grade for this class.

Amazing teacher. He made math 10x easier. ALEKS is the site we use for homework and quizzes, the tests you'll take are in person. Good review guide for tests and final. Quirky but the good kind. He is very helpful and caring; you can see he wants his class to pass. He is the right choice if you want a fun and well-taught class.

He's a Professor who really wants to see his students shine and actually learn the material. I went into this class at the beginning of the semester dreading math. And in all honesty? He made it pretty easy to digest the material, break it down simple, and make you understand what your trying to solve. Do the online homework. It's 40% of your grade

He goes kind of fast so you will need to teach yourself some of the bits and pieces you may miss. The workload is light with just a few online homeworks due at the end of the month. Two tests and a final. He's so funny ngl and I eat it up at 9am. Class will be silent and he's just talking to himself cracking jokes about how none of us talk to him.

Probably the easiest Algebra teacher I had. He was funny and also his tests are very similar to the review sheets that he gives. Take him if you want to pass.

Homework was about what you'd expect, not insanely easy but not too difficult. Actually made class enjoyable and made students want to be there. If you can take his class, do it. This professor connected many mathematical concepts to one another that made the course run fluidly. He checked in with my progress, graded my exams generously, wanted me to succeed! I highly recommend this professor. Easy A as long as you do the required work and follow his recommendations

Did a summer bridge program where he prepared us for MAT105. I honestly sucked at math in HS and was very confused at first, but his lessons really helped me understand the topics I previously struggled with and I don't think I would have done as well in my class in the fall if it weren't for him. Would love to have him for a full semester!

This professor is really helpful. At first, I disliked the class because he is difficult to understand. When I said something to him, he allowed me to go to his office hours and work with him on what I was having a problem with. If you take his class, be ready to have to study. He doesn't require a book but you do have to pay almost 90$ for a web.

Very humorous. Math isn't my best subject but he was very understanding towards my personal situations and helped me pass.
