Recommend him, helpful, care about student, wants every one get A, work hard will help you.....
Teaches too fast and doesn't give students time to understand the topics. tests are stupid but worth a lot on your grade. Youtube and Google are better teachers
I came into this course disliking chemistry but Dr. Mo made Chem really interesting! I never thought I would enjoy chem as much as I did. You are given the lecture videos online as well as practice quizzes. WATCH THEM!!! You will not succeed in this course if you do not watch the vids & do the practice quiz/exams/hw. Overall great professor.
Dr. Chehbouni was a very informative professor who genuinely cares about his students and how they are progressing in his class. Be prepared to work hard, though, because he doesn't hand out easy A's. Dr. Chehbouni instills in his students the value of achieving their goals through hard work, which is extremely important for science majors.
Dr. Mo is very passionate about chemistry, and his passion comes out in his teaching. His classes are NOT easy, but he gives you everything you need to be successful if you're willing to work. He is also very responsive to emails and is willing to help if you don't understand something.
HARD! DO NOT RECOMMEND! I took him for both lecture and lab. I'm going to try to be nice. He's speeds through his lecture. Does not follow the syllabus. Before each lab you must have the prelab, typed report, post lab, and also the pre lab for the next chapter AND the intro for the next report typed. Imagine all that on exam day.
Hard accent and speaks way too fast. If you take him make sure you have time to study for at least 4 hours a day. He's not easy and is not lenient. Does not take time to understand your questions when he clearly doesn't understand. As a teacher he is not considerate.
I had taken this class because I had to. HE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER. Get ready and hold on tight cause chemistry is hard as it seems already, but he makes it a little bit easier.
He is patient & is willing to work with all the students. If your class shows up on time & keeps their phone away, he is more than happy to hand out extra credit. The cells are definitely his pet peeve, but if you respect that he is amazing! He makes chemistry easy and he WANTS you to get an A. He even doesn't require the textbook to save us money.
a very hard teacher. I mean i know chemistry is a hard subject and science classes is where you need to study to pass, but the fact is its the way he weighs the grades. like sapling would'nt bring your grade down by anything. his tests r worth like crazy amounts and he only teaches through his slides with like 2 practice questions. would not take.
Hes a really good teacher. You just have to study. Just like every other class in collage. Chemistry isnt a class you could just wing. Hes a very understand able teacher and very nice, listens to students, understand students. And yes, he doesnt want phones in class. Cuz thats dissrespectful. A great teacher and a great man overall. Recommend.
Awesome profesor. Chemistry isn't an easy subject but he makes it easy. He gives lots of extra credit, drops grades(for this semester he dropped 3 quiz grades & a test grades). He gives so many chances to not just pass but pass with an A, IF you are willing to work. He is patient, helpful and caring. Take him you will not regret it.
Dr mo is awesome, although chemistry is very hard, he gives you multiple opportunities to improve your grade. He is very on top of emails, and you can get extra help through his office hours! He's willing to really work with you if you work with him, pay attention and stay up to speed and you'll do fine!
Dr. Mo is a great instructor. He provides you with plenty of practice, and he is good at inserting grades quickly. Participation in class is helpful, and although he has prerecorded lectures available, being in class is helpful.
Wow this class is super esay, I made a B plus although chemistry is very diffuicuilt. I was so scared of failing , but his encourage ment love and care made my life to super , I wont take any teacher apart from him . He is man sent from God to save us from academic struggles. please take you never regret ok
A great teacher and a great class environment, study the metirial and work hard. Dr. Mo is very passionate and loves his students. Gives so much extra credit, and gives exams like the review so a great teacher and a great environment. :)
wow super easy
Dr. Mo is a very sweet and passionate professor. He really cares for his students and provides plenty of opportunities to practice your skills. He's always on top of his game and puts in grades pretty quickly. Definitely recommend him, but you'll have to put in some studying and effort :)
Really enjoyed his class. Difficult but very possible if you put in the time and effort. Most people who studied outside of class and paid attention in class got A's and B's. The ones saying its crazy hard didn't study and messed around during lectures. He's very accessible out of class and is very enthusiastic and gives interesting lectures.
There is quite a lot of homework. Has many resources (practice quizzes/tests/recorded lectures) to help students be successful. Very nice and is there whenever you need his help. You will need to put in work to get an A. He puts in grades super quick. Would take again. Don't count on extra credit b/c he hardly gives any or doesn't at all.
Be prepared to spend around 5 to 6 hours every day to study for this class to get a decent grade. Saling has 32 problems per chapter. You have to do the lab report in a word doc. He literally goes over the entire book and does not solve problems in class. He has not many practice exams, so you have to spend much time studying to understand.
Prof. Mo will push you to learn a lot about chemistry, the plus is you will learn. Find time to do the homework and if necessary check out his library of supplemental materials. He even posts videos of his lectures and quizzes. He drops an exam and provides an opportunity to make up a missed assignment. No need for a book, I'd take him for any chem
He really tries to help his student, try you best and do your work, SI session helped me. Lots of extra credit to students and he is kinda of strict. Better than my first chem 1411 teacher.
Chemistry is challenging but with a professor like Dr. Mo, you will definitely learn the material. His quiz/exam reviews were very helpful as well as the online homework assignments. He drops 1 out of the 4 exams and also provides extra credit. Textbook is optional.
Dr. Mo is an excellent professor. Extra credit is given and tries his best. Lecture & lab quizzes. Attendance is mandatory. A lot of homework on sapling and gives extra credit. It is a lot of information that it is ok for those who have the whole time but for those who don't , it is really difficult to keep up with all the assignments and study.
It may seem overwhelming, but once you get the concept everything becomes easy. Dr Mo offer opportunities for grade improvement. Lowest exam grade is dropped. First exam is the easiest, you don't wanna have it dropped, so aim for a high grade. Class participation is a great way to test and challenge yourself. Assignments are free grade boosters.
Dr. Mo is one of the most understanding and fair professors that I have ever had. Anytime someone needed help, he did not hesitate to stop and explain again. Gives many examples & posts EVERYTHING on BB. He gives so many opportunities to get a good grade. HW for each chapter, 4 exams, and daily quizzes. He drops the lowest grade of each of those.
Completed Summer I He is a tough grader, so I recommend not taking him for lab Chem is hard, sometimes doesn't make it better Need help go to his office hours or the Sc Some quiz questions will be on exam so keep and study those First half of class math-second half memorization Overall, he is a bit self-absorbed, but not a bad professor
Dr. Mo is great teacher. His lectures are a little hard to follow, but I also took it during the summer where each class was 2 hours, so it might be a bit more digestible during the fall or spring. He puts effort into his class and to making sure that you learn, which is something that you'll appreciate if you've ever had a professor that doesn't.
Dr. Mo is a great professor. After taking chemistry classes with other professors, I really miss Dr. Mo. Yes, he is tough but that's to be expected for this subject. My favorite part of his lectures is his holistic approach. He challenges you to think critically and makes difficult concepts easier to understand. Recommend for chem majors
He's a good professor but sometimes he gets confused which confuses the class. make sure you print out the lectures because he moves fast through them in class and unless you write fast you won't get all the information down.
Dr. Mo is a great professor. He posts a lot of videos and lecture in BB, so you can review them anytime and he gives many opportunities to get a good grade as well. Definitely recommend him.
He drops the lowest test grade as well as the lowest quiz and homework. He does explain in great detail but is rushed with all of the information that he has to cover during class. He gives great examples and he will answer any questions you have. Go to science center for extra help do not fall behind since there is so much information.
Lets be real, chem can be hard. However, Dr. Mo goes above and beyond to make it as doable as possible. He understands were new to this and teaches accordingly. Theres a lot to get through so the classes can be rushed sometimes, but thats out of his control. He also has opportunities for extra credit and a lot of recourses for extra practice.
Professor Mo is a great professor. He lectures fast so you have to either study before or go back through the lecture notes. Everything he posts in black board is helpful, the videos and even study materials. would definitely recommend him.
Great professor. Welcomes any questions & is always willing to help out. Study hard & keep practicing on the math given. Also, take time to memorize what he tells you. Very simple... if you put in the work, you'll get the grade that you deserve. A lot of people complain about his teachings but if you start strong, you'll end up w/what you deserve!
Great professor. Takes his time to make sure all students understand, uses many examples and practice problems in class. Uploads powerpoints so you can look over and study. Cares lot, is quite lenient with quiz grades. No book needed, take notes in class nd you'll be fine!!
Dr. Mo seems like a nice enough guy who enjoys chemistry, but he does tend to teach way too fast just to squeeze in all the information in 2 hours. Very little times he'd elaborate and he'd get frustrated when we had questions, it seemed?? Does provide lots of online homework which helps toward your grade as well as the lab experiments. good luck
Dr MO is a very respectful man. He knows what he's doing but sometimes looks confused, if you are not careful, he will confuse you. He gives a lot of homework that really helps you prepare for the major test, but sometimes part of those homework are not needed. Make sure you listen well in class, go through his quiz and test review and u'll be fine
He makes chemistry enjoyable and easy to understand!
He is a very good teacher, he does a great job in making sure you understand the material. He really does not like phones.
He gives you every chance he can to make the grade. He gives you reviews as well as access to past test for review. Chemistry is not an easy class get ready for a lot of math and be sure to get help when you need it. He will explain it clearly and answer and question you might have.
Dr Chehbouni is great! he does a great job making sure that students understand the material. As a blended class you need to be ready to work and don't miss any class if you don't want to be lost. But if you do assignments, and work seriously you will get an easy A!
Dr Mo. is a caring professor. He does his best to make you understand the materials, I took him for blended class so you have to keep up and if you miss a class you'll get lost. He gives reviews before exams one dropped exam. I recommend him!!
I took his blended class this semester and it was great! I could tell that he is passionate about his work and interest in this field. He made the lectures engaging. His class recordings were thorough and very helpful. Very quick to respond to emails. I wish he taught Ochem. Take him if you get a chance. Would highly recommend!
I took Dr. Mo's blended class in which lectures were once a week. We moved at a fast pace covering a chapter every lecture, so skipping even one lecture sets you back quite a bit. Despite the pace of the class, Dr. Mo provides everything you need to be successful in his class. Put the work in and you will do great. I strongly recommend Dr. Mo.
Dr. Mo is awesome! He provides you with a lot of additional resources, extra credit, and if you dont understand something he will help you until you get it. STUDY! STUDY! STUDY!
I had a terrible experience with another professor in chem I and took him for chem II. Suddenly having recorded lectures in multiple formats and so much more really was amazing. He tries to give his students every resource he can because he wants them to learn. Seeing how happy he was just learning about new teaching methods really gave me hope.
Doctor Mo is one of the best. On the first day of class, he will let you know that his job is not to make the students comfortable, but rather, ready for any type of testing. The class is not hard at all. You will just have to put some effort in if you want an A. Also, do not play with your phone during lectures. He HATES that.
Dr. Mo is a wonderful Chemistry professor. He is really fast pace and if you miss lecture you won't pass. He is very fair and drops lowest test, quiz, homework grades. Gives chapter quizzes pretty much weekly. Final is comprehensive and mandatory! Does provide practice tests and quizzes. Be prepared to study if you want an "A"!
Dr. Mo is a very caring professor who gives you every chance to be successful in the course. He is very transparent with grading and almost always has grades posted the same day. I would highly recommend Dr. Mo to anyone who is looking for a quality Chemistry professor. Don't be on your phones in class though, he will call you out.
IT IS VERY POSSIBLE TO GET AN A! Study the PowerPoints, the test's and quiz's come straight from the PowerPoint especially the last 3 chapters. Practice quizzes and test are provided, study them because he uses the same and if not the same type of questions for exams. Provides useful videos and work examples to get better understanding of material.
Dr. Mo is a great professor that has clear expectations and wants his students to be successful. No make-up work, but he curves. He will give out 6-9 question quizzes every week, and you can miss one question and still receive full credit. BE PREPARED TO EARN YOUR GRADE, especially if you are taking the fast paced blended class.
Dr. Mo is one of my favorites professors at TCC. He really does care about his students. Attend his class, read the ppt, do homework then you will get an easy A.
I took Dr. Mo for Chemistry 1 and chemistry 2 (Friday class). He is a great instructor who makes you work for your grade. He provides practices test/quizzes with recordings that allow you to see what to expect on his exams. Many chances to bring up your grade but you have to be attentive for the extra credit. He is a very intelligent man.
Tough semester due to COVID19 forcing us online. Lots of quizzes, both for lecture & lab. When class was face to face, he would rush you through lab; even with 45 minutes left he was wanting us to finish up. Moving online, he did no lecture, only used pre-recordings. Would not go over the math parts, left that strictly up to his SI leader.
He is a second Professor I do rate. His class NOT EASY but I would like to RETAKE AGAIN if I have chance. Business is my major. Just take this class because curious. I took CHEM 1 with a different professor and feel bad. But when I take his class, I understand CLEARLY lecture. After his course, you gain a REAL KNOWLEDGE but you need to work hard.
Lots of people say he is good but it is actually the opposite. He always crammed information even at last minute and except us to know by the end of the week and take quiz. The three quiz is nothing like the quiz practice. The test is nothing like the test review. if you want to do well in class don't take him. He is as bad as my chem 1 teacher.
Dr. Mo is not too bad, if you put in the maximum effort, you will get the maximum return, this class was taken during the outbreak of the coronavirus so I got to experience his face-to-face and also his online methods of teaching.
IS HE GOOD? that is the kind of question people are wondering. Here is what you should know: this class is NOT an easy A class ( come on, it's CHEM). It requires some effort; LISTEN to his lectures and DOing homework is the key. There are multiple resources to help you succeed: online recording lectures, practice tests, etc. Overall, HE IS GOOD.
This professor is a great teacher and will work with you if you need help. His class requires attention and a lot of studying outside of class.
Dr Mo is a good teacher. He is passionate about his job. He wants to teach students all the necessary knowledge. He will drop a test, quiz, homework with the lowest score. You just need to study and prepare for the exam, you will be fine. Taking his class, you won't regret your choice.
Dr. Mo is very accessible. He has high expectations but he is fair. He offers 1 dropped grade per category and your grade is very inclusive: exams, Mastering chemistry, lab, final exam, and a discussion that is 10% of your grade. Be ready to work for your grade though, there are minimal curves and he expects you to really know the material.
Dr. Mo was awesome! Chem II in a 4 wk class was tough, but he made it better for sure. You can tell he has a passion for the subject, and he explains it all in a way that just makes sense. As long as you pay attention to lecture and do all of the assignments and practice assignments, and STUDY you should do great in his class!
How are people giving this guy more than a single star?! Maybe it's because I'm taking it online, but he's made this a miserable experience so far. He's a super-tough grader with *ZERO* leniency, he's given NO instruction so it's all self-taught, and he's rude and ambiguous if you ask him questions. AVOID THIS MAN LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT.
This class was mandatory online due to COVID. Those 4 weeks were extremely difficult. I would have preferred to take it on campus. He provides so many resources. Do all your homework. Lab assignments. And practice tests/quizzes/homework provides to you. But I would definitely memorize the formulas as they are not given. Hes willing to work w/ you.
Dr. Mo is an amazing teacher! He is super laid-back and understanding, but still firm because he wants the students to succeed. Watch the lectures, do the homework, and STUDY! He provides a ton of resources, and practice materials. He drops a a few grades, and gives extra points on exams. If you put it in the work, you will do well!
(taken online & during the summer) Class wasn't too difficult but be prepared to study if you want an A. Professor himself was very clear on what he expected from students + he was accessible and would respond to emails 5-10 mins later. My recc: study practice exams for lecture exams, study lab quizzes for lab exams. He drops one of ea. grade!
Professor Mo was very resourceful. He provides the necessary tools you need to succeed in this course. You have to work for your grade, which makes completing his course rewarding. He is essentially preparing his students for success by challenging us early. Be prepared to study. Complete all the work assigned and put time into it.
Grade is based on Exams, MasteringChemistry homework and labs on Labflow. Took this over summer but he scheduled all the due dates in a timely manner. There really are no excuses to be behind. You just have to plan accordingly. Lectures are clear and straightforward. He definitely has my respect.
Dr. Mo, is an awesome chemistry professor who deeply cares about his student success. He will provides you with with all the tools needed to make you ready for the exams either in lecture or on a Q/A practice exams. He is also available to answer your email at any time during the day and will makes you feel appreciated.
A solid choice for an online chem class.
Although I did get an A I had to work VERY hard for it. Its not impossible to pass this class but you have to be dedicated. Just make sure you're not too busy during the semester.
Homework through mastering chemistry, You dont have to buy the book, discussion boards every week, no quizzes, 5 lecture exams including the final (provided practice quiz and exam for every test), labflow has quizzes once a week along with "experiments", 1 midterm and a final that is NOT comprehensive for lab.
In summary, Dr. Mo is a great educator. Very responsive, thorough when lecturing, and genuinely seems to look out for the students best interest. An example is whenever a student does not completely understand a concept, he takes the TIME to work through an example and explain it from different ways if need be to better help.
I can't speak highly enough about how well-organized this course is and how many useful resources Dr. Mo provides! There were a lot of assignments, but it was actually manageable with all the resources. If you are thinking about taking the condensed version, make sure that you will have enough time to dedicate to it because the pace can be fast.
I took Dr. Mo for both 1411 and 1412 online. Take him! He provides pre-recorded lectures in 2 different formats, practice homework, quizzes and tests. He has due dates that are non negotiable but are all very possible to complete. He is very organized and easy to follow. Keep up with all the assignments, study hard and you'll do fine.
Dr. Mo is one of the most caring prof I've had. He provides you with practice assignments, clear pre-recorded lectures and other resources, all super helpful. No doubt one of the best and most organized classes I've taken. You have to work but manageable due dates for everything. Study & don't be scared to ask questions! Great professor!
CHEM 1412 is 10x harder than Chem 1411. The whole class is difficult, but every question you are tested on can be found somewhere within all the lecture videos and practice tests. The class has BY FAR the most video content on youtube, done by the professor himself, just like Khan Academy. You will have to work HARD and put the time in for an A!
By far the best online course I've taken, and I was very skeptical especially with the subject matter. He provides a lot of resources that help you learn the material thoroughly so if you're needing this class for upper level chemistry courses, would highly recommend.
Not the best, but not the worse, if you look away from your screen while testing even if its a split second he will give you a ZERO and not reason with you. I emailed him about it and got no response after I asked him to point out where he thought I was cheating. Lots of weird and hard requests for his students while testing. I don't recommend him.
I took chem 1411 it was a 5-week course this class requires a lot of time. He has very long and detailed lectures and provides reviews for the exam that are very helpful. We used lab flow for labs which was easy and mastering chemistry which can be challenging. It's very possible to get an A if you put in the work.
I was nervous about gen chem 1, but Professor Mo makes it impossible to fail. He is so sweet and willing to sit and teach you the material. Its a fast paced class, Friday only. We have a lecture and lab quiz every Friday. Professor Mo provides all the material for you to succeed from practice quizzes and exams. ITS AN EASY A IF YOU STUDY.
Professor Mo is great. I did the hybrid class and we have class all day Friday. It goes by super fast because ProfessorMo makes the lecture interesting and lab is do it yourself. Labs can be overwhelming but he helps you through it. The quizzes and exams are very similar to practice exam and quizzes he provides on canvas. He drops a lot of grades.
Dr. Mo is amazing! I took his blended class and hes super organized, grades fast, & replies fast. He genuinely wants you to understand. There are practice quizzes, tests, and exams. SO helpful!! Make sure to go through them. He drops lowest grades & gives extra credit. Do the work & study. Youll do great.
I've had Dr. Mo for 2 classes, both times I've aced the class! Good lectures + everything that's on the exam is on the PowerPoints. He's pretty lenient on assignments, he drops a lot of assignment grades to boost your overall grade. The exams can be tricky, but study hard and you'll be fine. He has practice quizzes and exams to help prepare.
The professor himself is respected, he truly cares for the success of his students. However, this class is not for people who don't work for it and give up easily. The class isn't easy and its not a given pass unless you put in effort. The science center is a MUST. Don't be discouraged you can do it once you pass all the stress feels worthwhile!!
Dr. Mo is a great Professor and wants his students to succeed. He takes 5-10 minutes to respond back.If you keep up with the class and study hard then your grade will reflect that.He drops the lowest grades for the exam, lab quiz, lab experiment, and mastering chemistry assignment. He also provided extra credit.I would have definitely taken him again!
I took this class once a week, and it is very fast paced, so I would recommend taking it twice a week, if possible. He is a great teacher, and gives lots of grades so that it evens out. He gives TONS of resources, just in case you miss class. He answers very fast, so he is always there to help as well. Tests were average level of difficulty, study
Dr. Mo is an amazing teacher! Compared to previous experiences with other chemistry professors, Dr. Mo is really good at teaching the material, and he takes his time to make sure the topic is understood. The homework can be time-consuming, but they are beneficial to learning the topic. If you have the opportunity, take Dr. Mo.
Dr. Mo has a lot of optional material that is always accessible for students. The only book mandatory is the lab manual. He is quick at grading assignments. He provides feedback on lab reports. He can be seen as a difficult teacher, but that is because it is important to stay on top of the chapters, mastering chem, and ready for quizzes & exams.
One of my favorite lecturers. His grading criteria is clear & not just based on the tests. The final accounts for only 14%. Tons of opportunities to score. Assignments, discussion board & extra credit. He will drop the lowest grade & give practice exam too. The class itself isn't the easiest, but he sets you up for success & always willing to help.
Dr. Mo was a really good professor. I took the lecture portion online and the lab in person. If I would have had the chance to take both in person I would. He offers extra credit and although there may be a lot of homework it's not so difficult. He is understanding and responds to emails fast.
Dr. Mo was pretty great. I took the course during the summer, so it was a lot of info crammed into five weeks. I had online lectures and in person labs, but based on his lecture recordings I think he does an amazing job of explaining concepts that are difficult to understand. If you get the opportunity, take this class IN PERSON!
Dr. Mo gives good lectures and makes sure that everybody understands before moving on. This is a homework-heavy class, but the homework is essential to the understanding of the material. Make sure to study the previous quizzes because there is a high possibility those questions will be on the test. Overall great teacher, would take Dr. Mo again.
Dr. Mo is a great professor. I took the lecture online with him and had in-person lab with another professor. Chemistry is not an easy class so don't expect him to just hand out A's. As long as you do your part and study and work for your grade, the class will go by super fast.
He is a passionate professor, I enjoyed his lectures. If you want an A in this class you need to put some effort.
Chemistry is not an easy class. So don't expect him to give you an easy A, you need to put effort. He is a passionate teacher, you will see that while he lecturing. Doing the practice quizzes and practice exams and you will do fine in the actual. He is strict with being class on time and following the rule but it's reasonable. Great professor!
General Chemistry is a rigorous course, but Dr. Mo helped me to understand and get through the class with an A. His lectures are important and you must put in effort. He drops your lowest homework, quiz, and even test grade. He is always available during office hours to help you go over your quizzes and tests. Very quick grader and great professor.
Dr. Mo is an amazing teacher. Chemistry is by no means an easy class and Dr. Mo really tries to help you understand the material. He is very generous with grading with the grading criteria being spread across the assignments. He also drops an exam, a quiz, and a homework assignment and also posts all the reviews in Canvas for tests and quizzes.
He has very clear grading criteria and you can access the modules ahead of time. Gives helpful practice questions and his discussion boards are very simple. Get ready to watch lengthy videos, I have no regret taking his class.
Professor Mo is great, he genuinely wants to see you succeed. He answers emails promptly, and is willing to meet with you to discuss your grades or any material that you need help with. Don't neglect your homeworks, as they can definitely make or break your grade, and utilize the practice exams/quizzes they're very helpful for exams!
Chemistry has so many details and work, he made fair grades on exams. GREAT professor
Dr. Mo has been the best professor I have taken thus far. He provides plenty of supplemental materials such as practice quizzes and exams with recorded walk-throughs, that will help you if you need help outside class. As long as you show up ready to learn you will have no issue passing his course.
I took the hybrid class that meets once a week, so lecture was very long and he moves fast. He provides online recordings of his lectures which are helpful. This class is very work intensive, but Dr. Mo does a good job of providing resources for those that want them. There is a quiz before every lab/class. Extra credit available if you do extra HW.
I've took him over the spring semester for a hybrid class, which we only meet once a week, but I did not have a hard time for the class. There are multiple recordings from previous years posted so if I do not understand, I can go back and watch the video lectures. Best way to prepare for exams is to look back at the quizzes and the practice exams.
By far the most engaging and passionate professors I've had the pleasure of learning from. He keeps everyone involved during lectures and has so many sources of practice quizzes/exams that anything you don't understand in class can be easily learned through his online walkthroughs. I highly recommend him to anyone taking any chemistry subject!
i personally did like the way he taught the class and how everything was pretty organized except he didnt provide any lab reviews for his lab exams. i did not like his bad attitude and all the extra stuff he had to say if someone was 1 minute late to class or was checking their phone time
Took lecture online and lab in person. He has multiple choices for his lecture videos which is helpful for students who have different learning types. The lab and lecture homework is very extensive. I suggest if you want to take a summer class with him don't have kids and if you have a fulltime job, make it part time.
Summer 2023 it was good but was pretty fast. Tests are doable especially after you've done these three-practice pack (Practice quiz, solved problems, and practice exam.) Labs are extensive and you MUST read before you come to labs as lab-quiz questions are based on the content of your lab and will help you fasten your experiment process.
trigonal bipyramid take this class if you want to still feel like youre in highschool
He is very clear about his expectations and grading policy from the very beginning. He really cares about his students success and respects participation and hard work. If you put in the work and put forth the effort then you will succeed with him in this class. I would absolutely take him again.
He is the best teacher if you could ever ask for. He gave amazing lectures. He really cares if his student understands the material or not. His passion for teaching is unimaginable. However this is a hard class, if you are not ready to put some real work into this class dont take it bc you will fail. You will have quiz, test, exam every other week.
Although the class was hard, I couldn't imagine how much harder it would've been if i took someone else. Explains concepts very clearly and lets you know his expectations for everything while keeping you up to date on assignments and changes. Good professor.
Dr. Mo was very professional. He respected my time and always showed on time to lectures and labs. Through the material was hard, he give the class multiple resources such as pre-recorded lectures, presentation slides, and reviews with answer keys. I am looking forward to taking Chem 1412 with him next semester.
This guy is hands down the best science professor I have ever had! He gives a lot of assignments, but that's because practice makes perfect. I didn't understand chemistry at all before his class, and now I actually really like it. If you want a quality professor for this subject, go for Dr. Mo. He's truly the best.
So if you are taking the advanced chem-1411 class you have to be prepared to show up every day and pay attention. because even though you think that the class might be easy it isn't. you have to stay on top of all your assignments and really study for the exams since he doesn't do extra credit.
Dr. Mo provides so many resources to help you succeed and is very helpful during labs
I really enjoyed this class and had plenty of opportunities to get the grade I wanted. I recommend Dr Mo for chemistry.
Dr. Mo's CHEM1406 online lecture course offered a plethora of resources including pre recorded lectures, practice quizzes and exams (with answer key), and lecture slides for each chapter. His grading was not burdensome, and there was usually a grading curve. He is also very communicative during the course and his discussion topics were meaningful.
Dr. Mo is an amazing professor, he provides plenty of resources for his online lectures and as long as you study the practice exams, you will ace his exams! He is highly respected and rightfully so as he is very knowledgeable. He typically grades on a curve and he genuinely wants each student to succeed. I highly recommend him!
Lecture:4 exams(not hard),10quizzes(not hard,1/wk), hk each wk(moderate); lab:12quizzes,data sheets, midterm, final. He teaches quite enthusiastically. His accent is hard to follow. He's not a bad person, but he's strict and prissy; of course, that make students uncomfortable. There're many things to do for this class, but it's not hard to get an A.
EXAMS ARE EXTREMELY HARD AND HIS ACCENT IS TOO HARD TO FOLLOW
He is a great professor and got me through Gen Chem 1 and currently taking him for Gen Chem 2 which is also going well. I love how good his lectures are. This class does take time and is pretty difficult but if you put in the time and do his practice quizzes and his practice exams you should be set to pass.
Hard class but if you need to take O Chem, he prepares you for it.
He gives you the resources you will need to get an A (practice quizzes, practice exams, recorded lectures, lecture slides, worked examples, and more)
I was nervous to begin his class because of the rating of difficulty on Rate my Professor, but in all honesty, I wouldn't have wanted to take any other teacher. He teaches brilliantly, until Amino Acids. I did have a hard time with that particular chapter. However, I would highly recommend him! He gives you all the material you need to succeed.
Active class participation is crucial, sit up front for better engagement. Each chapter has HW & and a quiz. Work through HW as you cover the chapter. On canvas he has prerecoreded lectures to catch up/get ahead and there are practice quizzes/exams with videos of the prof. taclking each problem. I recommend going to the SLC to supplement learning!
So many assignments due, super tough grader. Says he's getting people prepared for MCAT by not providing any formulas (in an entry level chemistry class). Would not take him again and wouldn't recommend him unless chemistry is already a strong subject for you.
Dr. Mo is a GREAT professor. The homework was great practice and helped me prepare for exams! When I transferred to UTA, I saw the difference between the ochem professors and him (and made me value him). He would be doing a disservice by providing formulas b/c university professors do not provide formulas. He really cares for ALL of his students!!!
I would really recommend professor Chehbouni ,he will prepare you for success step by step ,to be able to understand the complex topics ,he will provide you with all the tools and access from practice exam and practice quizzes and get you to be familiar with his exam ,everything is clear ,his lectures is high quality so engaging .
Im surprised he has so many good reviews. He assigns ALOT of homework. If youre majoring in chemistry then this may be a good class for you because it'll prepare you for university. If youre taking this as a requirement and have no need for it then I dont recommend him. It is not an easy A or even B. He expects all your time to go towards his class.
Dr. Mo's class is challenging but rewarding. Attend lectures, complete assignments, and utilize helpful resources like unstuck study to excel. Not easy, but worth the effort.
You will succeed in this class if you are willing to put the effort and time to study. Dr. Chehbouni is very clear on his expectations for the class, and if you do your part, you will get a good grade. He is a tough grader, and some would consider strict; but he really cares about his students learning the material. He is also willing to help you.
Dr. Mo's class offers many resources on Canvas. Grading includes 10 HWs, 14 discussions, 4 exams, 4 practice exams, 13 labs, pre/post-lab reports, 2 lab midterms, and a lecture final. Drops: 1 exam, lab quiz, report, discussion, and HW. If you're not great at chem, STUDY! You will pass if you take the time to understand the topics/hws.
Dr. Mo's class is not a free 100. Yet, as long as you pay attention and do the practice quizzes and practice exams which are all accessible on canvas, this class should not be any issue. His quizzes, 1 per chapter, are all 6 questions and missing one question will not hurt your grade (5/6 is 100, 4/6 is 80 and so on). Would definitely take again.
A lot of work is assigned to help you understand. Being an online course, I was unable to get help as easily on work and his office hours were during my class times but he does provide a lot of resources in canvas. His online lectures were hard to follow and very long. If you can handle that and somewhat teach yourself, you will get a good grade.
He's very organized, Canvas is full of helpful resources like reviews, worked examples, and practice quizzes. Homework is weekly (via Pearson), quizzes follow every two chapters, and exams every four. I wasn't used to studying before class, so this was a wake-up call. It's not hard or easy, just a lot to remember, and there's math involved.
Professor C was extremely unprofessional. He tried to argue with me over email multiple times. He also accused me of cheating on the first three exams and he “let me get away with it but now it was too far”. When I provided him with past emails of him telling me I did well on previous exams he didn't even try to apologize. Take someone else!!
If its your first year and ur doing online I wouldn't recommend unless chemistry is already easy for you. His lessons online are pre recordings of old zoom classes that are super long and boring. I had to research videos on the chapters myself and lock in. If ur not doing all that be prepared to fail. The lab prof was difficult to understand also.
I have taken Dr. Mo from CHEM1411 and now CHEM1412. His courses are difficult but if you put in the work, you will get good grades. He also gives good feedback if you are willing to meet with him or do a zoom meeting. Dr. Mo is one of the best teachers I've ever had. I highly recommend taking him if you are serious about chemistry and engineering
He makes you work for your grade, but offers tons of resources like practice exams to study over. Lecture exams including final are 50% of your overall grade. 7 exams total: 5 lecture, 2 lab exams, all multiple choice. He records his lectures in class for us to replay. He drops your lowest grade in each category, including exam. HW is on Pearson.
I definitely suggest taking Dr. Mo. He records his lectures, and has a quiz over every chapter. It helps you to really understand the concepts for the exams. He drops a few grades, which helps SO much. Super helpful, and easily accessible out of class. You would not regret taking him! Be to class on time though, lecture heavy.
Dr. Mo was a great professor and very care about his students' success. he takes the time to ensure everyone understands the material. and answers questions patiently. The lab class was interesting. The exams were easy. Not too much assignments, that is the thing I like. Although it's a hard class, if you put your efforts, Im sure you will be ok.
Strict but fair with clear expectations, very professional. Great lecturer, explains the material well. There's a lot of practice material on canvas. Do the practice test and go over the lecture slides and you'll do well on his tests. Every chapter has a quiz but you get a one question cushion. There are practice quizzes on canvas too.
He provides you with material to practice with like practice quizzes and practice tests but he is a very tough grader and is not very understanding. He is not lenient at all either. Attendance is required for every class and he gives you 0s on things even if you have a valid excuse as to why you cant make the class. Also there is a LOT of homework.
Took this in summer—don't do it unless you have time and discipline. Weekly tests, quizzes, homework, and in-person labs. It's tough; I barely got a B after a curve. He's strict and uses Respondus heavily. Take it in fall or spring if you can—summer is brutal unless you're unemployed. He is tough but honestly he is fair. respectable professor
I loveee this professor he was able to make such a difficult class so much more bearable and easy to understand. He actually cares enough to make sure everyone understands the material and provides lots of resources and tools to help with quizzes and exams. Would definitely take again.
Dr. Mo is an excellent professor for Gen Chem I. He genuinely cares about his students and provides plenty of helpful resources, including practice exams, quizzes, and lab reviews. He explains difficult concepts simply and drops one of each assignment type. The course and content itself is challenging but very doable with effort. Highly recommend!!
Dr. Mo is an amazing professor. His teaching experience is evident through everything he does. He makes the material easy to understand, provides so many resources, and makes himself available to students encouraging them to contact him with any questions. The material is challenging, so practicing/studying outside of class is crucial.
He is strict about attendance, and he doesn't like students leaving the classroom during lectures. He explains things and breaks them down in a way that's easy to grasp. He gives practice exams and quizzes for each chapter, and you have homework every week on persons. He is willing to stay after class if you have questions.
Strict but a good teacher, he wants you to actually learn the material, No phones His exams are not that hard, you just have to know the material. Lecture and pre-lab quizzes at the beginning of class. Homework on chapters. Highly recommend!
Strict, but very helpful. Quizzes and homework for every chapter, and 5 exams including the final which is comprehensive. Wants his students to succeed by offering several resources and dropping multiple grades. Gives practice quizzes and exams which are very useful for studying. The course is challenging, but you will do well if you put in effort.
Initially, I thought it was strict, but I adjusted to his rules. His tests are similar to the practice materials on Canvas. Study material, including homework and past quizzes. Chemistry is tough, but he explains topics well. Be careful with lab reports, as it's easy to lose points there. Also, attend office hours to review your last exam.
Professor Mo is firm, but fair. he's accommodating when you approach him with concerns and always available for his students during office hours to explain and review past tests. Exams are proctored carefully with clear expectations. If you're willing to put in the effort and have a desire to understand chemistry, you'll do well in this class.
