good class - easy to pass, nice guy- a little creepy though- he told me he loved me and gave me extra credit for no reson.
don't buy the book for this class, he's a really easy teacher but you'll screw up if you don't study.
He's simplt the best.... His lectures are simple and precise... If you study for hisb exams they will be easy.. You can get an Easy A if you study

He absolutely loves what he does. He's a great "teacher." You will enjoy this class and as long as you study it's an easy A.
You might feel like he treats you like a child at first, but that is just his strategy. And it works! The info stays in your head. The book is boring, but as long as you go to class you'll do great! He is a very sweet guy, and is out there to help you.
lectures boring, repeats information. I have a feeling he never read any of my papers. an easy A. he skips classes. student absenses don't seem to matter.
told us we didnt have to buy the book, and i didnt- as long as you go to class its cake. he tells yyou "THIS is going to be on the test- know it!" and it is. offered extra credit after each exam, he was really helpful. he had a cool sense of hum
Dull and boring. An easy class taught by an idiot. Skip this guy and save your money. You will learn nothing of value. The only reason people take this class is to meet core requirements. Absent that, this guy wouldn't have a job.
this man caters to the lowest common denominator. if you want to be bored stiff and be taught as if you still were in elementary school, this is the class for you. i read all of anna karenina in half a semester...during his lectures.
Professor Ibrahim is one of the best professors that I have taken in College. He is an amazing individual and although I am not a Geograpy major he has really piqued my interest in this subject!
One of the nicest and easiest teacher. He makes most of the subject he is teaching (I don't like Geography) and makes the class fun. He is a very forgiving teacher that lets you make up your test grade if you do badly on them. Attendance in mandatory though because all his test are from the lecture.
Boring, repetitive, has a weird attitued towards men. probably never reads any of the papers we handed in. easy A, but i wouldn't recommend.
He is kind, helpful and experienced with the field of rural geography. He is perfect for this subject. The subject matter is extremely simple but he expected too much from the papers that he bombarded at the end all at once. That was hectic. He was a little unfair at the end with the grade too
He was very informative and stressed the conection between concepts, maybe too much, but overall very smart and kind. The best teacher at Hunter college, if you don't mind sitting and listening about rural development
Can get boring at times. Although he knows his stuff and is very passionate about geo. Felt like it was more of a high school class instead of a college class. Just have to attend all classes, easy A.
HE's a very kind, dedicated, intelligent, easygoing person. He knows his stuff and knows how to teach it!
Great professor, a bit of an accent, but the class is easy and he tries to help a lot. He let me take my final the week before it was assaigned because I was leaving for Christmas, with no problem. He offers extra credit, if you go see him during office hours after the test and answer a couple of questions he asks.
I took 101 with Prof. Ibrahim in 2001/2002, and just finished honors work with him this semester. He is a great professor and a very easy-going person. If you want to do honors work in the department, I highly recommend him. He will not bother you if you want to just work on your own, and will help you anytime if you need it.
This guy is a piece of cake. Go to class, take notes, show up for the extra credit and you got yourself an easy A. I didn't even bother to read the book. I would recommend not buying it and saving your money.
This class was VERY EASY! If you pay for your tuition, its a waste of money. he's a really nice guy but you dont learn a lot from him- a lot of students would ask him hard questions and he would just say: dont complicate my life! lol
He is a very easy profe. He gives a lot of chances to pass the class and he has NO hws at all!! U just need to pay attentions and take good notes in his class!! I am sure u will get a esay A...so take him!!! Highly recommented!
This class will get you an "easy A"! The professor is great, funny at times (though unintentionally), and he genuinely cares about his students. His tests are very easy and he gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. And I love his catchphrase: "don't complicate my life".
as he says "this class is an easy A+" tests are straight from the notes he puts on the projector, he really cares about every single student and knows that most people arent interested in geog and are taking this to boost their gpa and is happy to give you an A+, the tests are extremely easy and there is always extra credit
So easy, it makes you wonder where you are because it's definitly not college level. He's very caring about his students and wants everyone you to do well, but if you want to challenge yourself take psych or something that makes you think. Definitly take a writing intensive course, otherwise you will forget how to write in complete sentences.
notes, notes, notes, all about notes...fairy easy class. tests are all about the notes. boring lectures...
WOW! i TOTALLY recommend this teacher! not college level at all. it's like your in high school. he explains everything crystal clear and the tests have exactly the notes he gives. he even tells you some of the questions that are going to be on the test. he will not stop until you understand. BEST PROFESSOR at hunter so far!
Prof Ibrahim is an easy teacher. he wants everyone to get an A+ in the class. dont need to buy a textbook because tests are based on his notes. he takes attendance but doesnt count for overall grade. just dont talk in his class or he'll be upset because u would be interrupting his lessons full of "life-saving information". recommend him though.
If you want to be treated like your in high school, then take this class. Its a really easy class, but its extremely boring and he treats us like we don't know anything! you don't need the text book (deff don't buy the atlas...waste of money) and all of the information for the tests are in the notes he gives in class, so make sure you show up. bori
He loves to waste 20 min at the start of each lecture telling us to shut up. His tests are easy if u read ur notes. he is always willing to give extra credit and hes in this school till like 2 in the morning so go and ask him questions. His annoyingness is still worth getting the A.
Maybe he's easy and good for an intro to geography class he shouldn't be teaching higher level courses. It was as boring as it could get. I didn't seem to learn much from this class. The 7 papers and final is a little too much even for a "300 class"
This class is boring but as long as you show up and do your work, you'll get an A. This professor gives second chances to students who are trying hard to improve.
Maybe he is easy for 100 classes but GEOG 371 was a hard class. The teacher was easy and boring.Very kind and helpful but what killed me is amount of papers you have to write.About 7 research papers with bibliography(he is obsessed with it).It consumed a lot of my time.If you don't like writing papers DO NOT take this class. The final was easy.
its an easy class if you go to class and have all his notes. you just need to read the notes for the exam and you should be good, but also he asks for answers that are precisely in his words, so its more of memorization. and also don't try and "complicate" his life by asking too many questions. hes good overall.
Professor Ibrahim is great for 100 level courses but he was too hard on higher courses. Though the class was somewhat interesting, he gave us too many notes. In the contrary, if you're good at memorizing a ton of information, the midterm and final will be very easy. Also, he requires a VERY long scientific paper.
Everyone likes his 101, as did I, but so unstructured for upper level. his rating used to be bad since no one can understand his thick sudan accent, its like they doctored it? Hes ok but and just repeats the same things over and over..listening to him talk is so annoying.
He is such a helpful teacher and goes out of his way to help his students. Does not want to see anyone fall behind in the class.
It simple in his introductory course: attend class, take notes of slides, and study the notes. The exams are not very difficult if you do that. They do not cover alot of information so if you study at least some, you should end up with a decent grade. He makes things very clear. And he goes very slow, sometimes too slow. But overall excellent.
He does not like when people enter and exit the class. Gets very mad. Just take notes from class and listen to what he says. He gives you what's on the exam and is helpful.
easy professor, just attend class and take notes, you're answers are all right there. though he LOST MY FINAL EXAM so I'm taking the class over again.
take notes and you'll pass the class. i'm not saying hes a good teacher though. he appears to be chill and tries to joke around but sometimes this guy pisses people off. if you ask your neighbor for a pen hes going to yell at you for disturbing the class. take notes take the 3 exams and you're good to go. gives extra credit
Boring class. Boring lectures. Nice guy, tho. Take notes and study them before the test and youll be fine... he is an easy A... but bring coffee to class!!!
Lots of writing! Huge amount of research and time. Though students complain about writing the papers it is a good way to teach the class. The students are forced to learn independently and formulate thoughts. The lectures are clear in conjuction with the handouts. There is always room for student opinion on the subject and class discussion.
He is the nicest professor I have met so far!!! There is a lot of work for the class but the professor is not concerned about deadlines at all. You can hand the papers in wherever you can. He is very helpful and has made me love the subject! I would totally recommend him.
The class is entirely based on his notes. Study the notes and you'll be fine. He is an extremely helpful teacher. He always takes the time to explain the material to students. He also seems to be very caring.
To me it felt like he couldnt teach without his slides which makes him useless. All he did was put up slides on the screen, wait for u to copy it (as if we're in 1st grade) n then read everything back to u. I would rely fully on the textbook n wen it comes to reviewing exams, he won't explain2 u or return exams. He'll just tell u what u got wrong.
Very boring teacher, treats u like ur still in high school, and i felt like he graded unfairly...he wants u to memorize his notes and not understand concepts. I took AP geography nd got a 3/5 which is pretty good for AP but ended up w/ a B in his class...go figure that. Avoid him.
This is the BEST prof. EVER!. I had never met someone that cared so much about their students. He really wants you to do good in his class. Do not listen to those that say otherwise. Get to know him and you'll see. I would recommend this prof. 100%. He is a wonderful person inside and outside the classroom. You do need to study hard but it's worth i
the bulk of the grade is weekly essays. you do all the work. his lectures are useless. hated the class all along. he complaints a lot. avoid him if you can.
Don't bother buying the textbook - he gives handouts w/ all necessary info. Tells you exactly what questions will be on exams. Must write a 12-page scientific research paper worth 20% of grade. Midterm + final worth 40%. Can be super boring and long winded at times but can also be interesting. Easy A.
AVOID AVOID AVOID! How can this guy be a prof when he dosent even speak ENGLISH!!!?? What a waste of valuable time, money, and effort (B-).
easy class cuz his entire test is based on his handouts, so save yourself some money and dont get the book. The 12 page paper is a breeze and he makes sure that no one will fail it. Great class and easy A if u're good at memorizing his handouts which is like 15 pages per test. He also expects you to go over and beyond in class and in life.
GREAT!!!!! To the point, everything is in notes no need for book. Study 2 hours before the exam and you'll get an A. 3 exams total. His accent is not bad whatsoever. People who gave him a bad rating didn't study or didn't come to class because he makes himself available if you're struggling which you shouldn't be if you GO to class and take notes!
Meh. The classes are super boring. I don't believe his facts and when students challenge him, he can't doesn't seem to know anything about what is going on outside of Sudan. 1 12-page research paper; 4 2-page essays for the midterm and 2 2-page essays for the final plus an in-class essay. It was a lot of work but I don't think he reads any of it.
Class is extremely boring but if you want an easy A for practically no effort, take this class. Tests are directly from the notes. His slides get really tedious at times but if you suck it up (and try to stay awake!), you'll be fine. Prof Ibrahim is actually pretty generous despite what others may say and wants everyone to suceed in his class!
Waste of time!! You learn more from research you do on your own. Come out of his class with more questions than answers. For some reason thinks too highly of himself. He seems like a nice man but horrible professor. On midterms and research paper cares only about citations and not what you actually write. Cannot answer any questions from students.
This class was an utter waste of Time. No lesson plan, no clear objectives, no text. I feel bad because he is a nice man but his classes consist of him ranting about corruption and then he expects us to answer take home exams on vaguely worded questions on difficult to find topics. This is the only geog department course I regret taking.
Professor Ibrahim's main priority is his students, and it is very easy to do well in his class. All you have to do is go to class and take notes (his exam questions are directly from them!). He is also very easy to talk to and has great office hours, so if you are struggling (which you shouldn't be) you should make the effort to meet with him!
He's truly a great person. he wants everyone to succeed and loves to give As. his class is self-explanatory; he puts the notes on the board, you copy them, and recite them on exams. it helps because his accent is very difficult to understand. may be a bit unclear, but take down the notes and you'll ace the 2 midterms + final. dont buy the textbook.
Helps all the students. Easy A if u go to his class & take notes! He wants everybody to get an A. sometimes tells us what will be in the exam & the same question does appear in the exam. If u have to take geography, i would highly recommend him.
Not gonna lie, i thought this was gonna be a piece of cake and yea his classis literly him talking and you taking notes. be prepared to bring a pillow cause he put me to sleep everytime. He's also strict about talking, he hates it and he will kick you out. He is a very nice guy and he's kind and funny. take good notes and you wont need the book.
This class is very easy, just come to class take notes and study them. He doesn't give any papers, just 2 exams and the final and he tell you whats on it. He is very helpful and funny and is willing to help his students. Ibrahim is a good professor and human being, He genuinely cares for his students. Awesome Professor!! And DONT buy the textbook.
Don't "Complicate your life" and take this class. He is a kind and caring man, who only wants his students to be successful. Three tests = your cumulative grade. Don't buy the book, just take detailed notes and listen to what he has to say. Awesome professor. Class can drag a bit at times, but he just wants everyone to get the material clearly.
Want an A+? Then take this guy. He is the EASIEST professor at Hunter. He gives great notes. His exams are based the notes. You just have to remember it. I guess it's basically memorization. It is easy though. Take him!!!
This man is the least interesting man in the world. The first two classes were dedicated to walking through the syllabus as if none of us have ever been in college. He relies heavily on his slides and notes so don't even bother buying the textbook. His paper makes absolutely no sense. He asks for 12 pages on a subject he hasn't covered. Boring!
Easiest A i have ever received. He gives you the notes for each test, study that and youre good. 3 exams non-cummulative. Best teacher at hunter
Everything on his test are from his slides and handout sheets, absolutely DO NOT by the book, its not needed. Easy A if you study up on notes and handouts, and the class will allow you to focus more on your other subjects. nice guy also, but he's kind of monotonous. "Don't complicate your life" take him get an A!
Don't Complicate Your Life! TAKE HIS CLASS! Exactly what a 101 course should be! This professor absolutely cares about his students! Very clear on the material. Gives great notes! Everything from his slides are on the test! Also gives great review sheets. The class cosists of 3 tests. Take notes study the 3 page review sheet! garaunteed an easy A!
thing on the test are from the handout. no need the book. Easy A, but you have to study hard! nice professor. take this class, you will love it!
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! 3 Tests 30 Questions each. Review sheet for each test! No text book. Do not comlicate your life, take this class!
If you can study on your own and just self-teach yourself then take his class. Class is very boring. Not hard, but need to study hard!
Really amazing professor and person. We are so lucky to have such experienced teachers at our school. He worked for the UN sustainability program and has immense knowledge about the real world and really does contribute to making it a better place. Cares immensely about his students, is helpful and easygoing.
The best professor ever. I'm so glad I took his class..very interesting. He simplifies the lecture up to that point that when you leave the class you already did 90% of your studying, the rest I did on the train.Three tests..you'll do EXELLENT if you attend all his lextures. I'm taking another geog. class and I'm doing great all because of him.
I like this professor. He does not like to complicate your life. Very easy going and if you go to class and listen, you pass the class.
People, please. Do not complicate ANYONE'S life. This professor is no more and no less than anyone could ever ask for from a Geography professor. He is very cool in a hard to explain way. He does not take the class too seriously and he stays very focused on the topic, usually to the point of boredom if you take this as a summer course 2Thumpsuptho
He repeats each class, 3 times.. Boring but easy A. Study the notes
Great guy, some would say boring lectures, but interesting in my opinion. Don't complicate your life.
I love Professor Ibrahim! He's so cute and funny. He's very helpful and is always willing to help out his students. I learned so much in his class. Do not buy the textbook, just use his handouts and study and you will get an A. He makes things easy for us while maintaining academic lectures. He is not boring, Geography is boring.
Professor Ibrahim is such a nice guy. He sincerely wants his students to do well. He makes jokes throughout the class while making sure you understand the material. Also, he's very specific as to what will be on his exams so there won't be any surprises. Take him!
I LOVE This man! His dedication to his students touches my heart and he definitely has left an imprint in my life. He literally loves his students and wants the best for them. He is very successful and smart. He gives 2 exam- Piece of cake if you study. He is always in hunter and available to help. TAKE HIM!
AMAZING! He made this class bare-able. I had to take this for my major and he made it enjoyable. Take him he's very knowledgeable and motivating.
GREAT professor! Totally enjoyed his class. Only 3 exams, try and attend all his classes if you can (he uses attendance to give extra points on exams) A textbook is assigned, but its not necessary; you'll hardly use it He digresses a lot in class. He likes to give 5-10 minutes spiels on the importance of eduction and how we should all study hard
Prof. Ibrahim is a very accomplished professor. He genuinely wants you to do well, so you'll definitely feed off his positive energy. He explains each topic thoroughly, and gives you handouts that cover all the material on the exams. He encourages you to study, not only to do well in your classes, but to become a knowledgable person. Take him!
Show up to class & pay attention during lectures, and there's no reason you shouldn't do very well in this class. Prof Ibrahim genuinely cares about his students & always offers help. He stays in his office a lot, sometimes until 5:00 a.m., so he will be around for you when you need him! You won't regret taking his class- I know I didn't. The best!
If you have the chance, take any of Professor Ibrahim's classes. Best professor I've encountered at Hunter College thus far! Very knowledgeable and accomplished professor. He wants us all to do well and become successful individuals. Classes are enjoyable and he explains everything. Never hesitate to ask for help, either. Simply an amazing prof!
Don't complicate his life, and he won't complicate yours! Great professor, gives good lectures, and always makes the class laugh. Truly cares about all his students and wants to see them do well. Makes geography an enjoyable class, tests are straightforward, and you'll walk away from the class with new knowledge.
Three tests, no homework (aside from the encouraged daily studying), and opportunities for extra credit. You'll get handouts that cover all of the material that shows up on exams. Pay attention during lectures, and you'll know what will show up as essays and which diagrams you are expected to draw. Very fair professor, doesn't complicate your life
Amazing professor! 3 tests, no homework, and attendance is not technically mandatory. However, you need to come to class every day and take notes to pass the tests. Don't bother buying the textbook. He's really intelligent, super sweet, and a pretty funny guy. I totally recommend him.
Professor Ibrahim is an anomaly int hat you wont find professors as caring as he is. He genuinely wants you to do well both in his class and in life. His teaching is very clear and easy to understand and he's great at drawing diagrams to further comprehension. Great class.
He is an amazing professor. I took two classes with him and I loved both. Take him! he is also funny and very nice.
Really good professor. Took the winter session class with him. Explains all the material really well and makes sure you understand. The textbook is not necessary. Will give you extra credit if needed. Really funny and tries to make the material interesting. I took the two week session and can honestly say that I learned a lot of information.
One of the BEST professors in Hunter. He's always there for you. I never opened the textbook but can proudly say that i learned a LOT of things about the subject by just coming to class. Simply an amazing professor. Do not complicate u'r life by taking another professor for the intro class. Take him and get an A!
Professor M. Ibrahim is the whole package. He truly cares about his students as if they are his children, and they truly care bout him. There are some tough concepts to grasp, but he makes them simple to understand. He is kind, funny, and interesting. He is not only a phenomenal professor, but an incredible intellectual, individual and "father".
This is a one-credit required class, which gave us an opportunity to learn about faculty and their current research
Best professor I have had. He cares about his students so much and he's so kind and funny. Lectures were not boring at all and the textbook isn't needed. Just take good notes and listen to what he says and you'll do well.
Just show up to class, pay attention, and study for the exams. It's not back-breaking work- if you want an A you can definitely earn it. He is a great professor. Also, don't speak while he is speaking- if you are a chatterbox and really, seriously can't help but chitter during lecture... you've been warned!
He was not very interactive or interesting.
Such a sweet, funny and fair professor. Anyone who says bad things really does it out of spite. His exams are exactly what he says in class so if you do bad- it's because you didn't go/pay attention and slacked off. It's neither rocket science nor does it require constant studying. Go to class, enjoy and pay attention. Easy A+
Professor Ibrahim is such a knowledgeable man! I have learned so much in his class and he really made me enjoy learning about geography. Although you have to study hard and pay attention to what he is saying, this class was really amazing and i would be happy to take it again!
Amazing. 10/10
Funny accent but really nice and wants you to get an A.
He is a very clear professor who teaches exactly what he tests you on. Show up to class and study the review sheet word for word and you will easily get an A. Only 3 tests and no homework whatsoever. He loves inspiring and motivating his students. Genuinely cares and highly recommended.
Professor Ibrahim is an awesome guy! His exams come directly from the material and notes in class. The textbook is not required at all. As long as you come to class and pay attention you are likely to pass. He is very motivating and wants all of his students to be successful! He even gives extra credit opportunities if needed. A++
An extremely passionate professor. In my experience, he was one of the the most respectful professors to his students and genuinely cared about educating and guiding the students. There was a lot of writing but reasonable for a 300-level, geography course. I recommend taking his class at least once while you're at Hunter.
Easy A if you study and come to class because he won't post anything online. He would tell you what will be on the test. There are only 3 tests that makes up your grade for the semester. If you did not do well on your tests, those extra credits will definitely help you get that A. All his tests are based on his lectures!
Caring guy just take pictures of notes.
As long as you come to class and listen to his lectures, you can easily pass his exams. You don't even have to take notes because he's nice enough to print out the entire lecture for you.
Ibrahim is a very caring professor, he wants you to pass & literally gives you all the tools you need to pass (lecture notes). He is very precise & wants things done his way or not submitted at all. He will make you redo your work. He's lenient with due dates. Take home midterm & final are 4 essay questions also a 12pg research paper.
This course is graded on three test, add all the three test scores together that's your grade for the course. Your duty is to review the worksheets he gives in class(no hw), the handout is your best friend. Professor repeats a lot/ slowly, but it will help. He is caring and really wants you to get an A. Come to his office hours, and study easy A.
Professor really wants you to do well in his class. Offers extra credit and a fair grader.
Gem, all around. Firstly, he REALLY CARES about each student and each of their grades. Class is graded solely off 3 non-cumulative exams. Hands out a couple of sheets of notes weeks before the exam! These are golden review sheets. Offers extra credit, attend his office hours!!! Easy A if you attend each lecture and review notes after class.
Theres 3 tests ur graded on nothing else but he wont tell u ur grade for the final
While this class may be an easy A it is also a nightmare. If you do things exactly as he says you will get an A but often his instructions leave much to be desired. Lectures are just him reading off his slides and the notes he gives you are just the slides in note format. He was often condescending and almost always late to class. I didnt learn.
He is really passionate about Geography as he would talk about it during the whole lecture time and make it fun. His class is an easy A as there were 3 exams plus the final with no homework. He really gave us an exam review that had the whole exam so as long as study the review you are good for the exams. He really cared about his students
He is the nicest man you'll meet and is SUPER flexible with turning in assignments. He wants every student to get an A or A+. The midterm and final were split into four parts each, along with a 15 page research paper. There was a lot of writing, but it was so worth it. I wish he was my professor for every class.
Second time having him and all I have to say is that he's AMAZING. His notes for the midterm and final papers are easy to follow and you can contact him if you need extra time to submit/resubmit stuff. The class has a lot of writing (especially the term paper), but it's worth it. Saved money by not buying the textbook. Take this class!
he is by far one of the most confusing teacher's i've ever had. it seems like he is an easy grader so far but, this class really is so disorganized i assume partly due to the pandemic//hybrid set up. He is a nice person but loses his patience quickly.
This class is easy but he is literally the most annoying and confused professor ever. instead of responding to your email he always wants you to call him on the phone which is weird and he just goes back and forth and is always confused. take him if you want an easy class but if you value your sanity take another professor. I wish I would have.
The coursework is actually easy - midterm, final, and term paper, and Professor Ibrahim gives you everything you need to do well on them. However, the way this class has been conducted is extremely disorganized. He gets frustrated easily and yells at the class. He also arrives late and starts lecturing 20+ minutes after the official start time.
4 mid term and 4 final paper plus 1 term paper. There is a handout sheet for each paper, and sometime he gave the citation and save your time. This is second time i had his class and overall he is a caring person giving you his phone number and willing to help you to get full credit.
He is one of the best professors that teaches in the Hunter college. He is so caring and encourages everyone in the class for quality education. He is a knowledge treasure and knows everything related to the his area of education. He is very respectful and want each of his students to do more and more and be successful. The best teacher in the world
He cares deeply about his field and his students. He expects students to research scholarly articles and is encouraging and helpful with his topical and very interesting assignments.
Professor Ibrahim always willing to help his students getting better on their grade by accepting phone call anytime. Most of professor only help you though the email or office hour but he is willing to help you anytime. He is a caring person.
This was my first time taking a Geography course at Hunter and taking Professor Ibrahim made it very easy. Rules are simple and easy, show up to class properly to learn and Professor Ibrahim will do everything in his own ability to help you. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Also, the materials are very clear and organized. TAKE HIM!
Professor Ibrahim was an amazing professor, such a caring person that does everything in his power to help his students succeed in class. Always provided extra credit for students to do better in the class and always provided students with clear explanation of the material for the exam. Show up to class, put in effort to study and you will do well.
I've taken him three times now and he's my favorite professor. He's really lenient with deadlines and understands if you're going through a hard time. The paper topic is entirely up to you and it's an easy way to get a few credits over with. As long as you follow his directions on writing the research paper, you can't go wrong.
Professor Ibrahim is an easy professor to take though he can be ignorant when you have questions. He also boasts a lot about education and why it is important to retain information, but other than that he is okay. Definitely go to his office hours for extra credit- he does not have a deadline if you want some extra points
Dr. Ibrahim is one of the best professors at Hunter College. His top priority is that his students actually learn from him. He is extremely caring and understanding. He wants everyone to get an A. Those who left bad reviews clearly did not do the bare minimum work required for his class and have taken advantage of his kindness.
Fantastic professor. Genuinely cares about his students and wants them to succeed. You will feel like you're at home when you're in his class. Please do the work! You don't want to upset him, solely because he's such a sweet guy. Cares about the subject a lot and has a lot of knowledge and experience. You'd be making a mistake not taking him.
Grade depends only only 3 tests, and extra credit he offers, sounds scary but he posts all notes and all exam answers are in the notes, just memorize key terms and you're good, make sure to take pictures of/write down the diagrams he shows in class, they will not be posted online and will be on the exam. He's a nice prof and cares maybe too much...
If you follow his instruction you can get 10 out of 10 on every essay
You're only graded on 3 exams and he gives out extra credit. He talks for the majority of the class and goes over the material. He also puts the lectures online so it is easy to pass if you study. It's just the fact that he's unorganized and gets upset when the class doesn't do well on the exams. Other than that the work is not hard.
P. Ibrahim is a wonderful, kind, and genuine person. There was no homework, just a take-home midterm, take-home final, and a research paper. Both exams have 4 short-response questions. He writes the answers; all that you have to do is find four examples per question from peer-reviewed articles and insert them into his pre-written answer. Take him!
DO NOT TAKE. Not an easy A class. Specifically took this class bc of the reviews but was v disappointed. Cancelled class a lot and zoom meetings were unbearable. Study the notes & videos. Every lecture was just of him complaining about how bad the class did in the class. He threatened to dock points from previous exams if you did poorly on the e.c.
Amazing and caring professor. Cares for you like his own child. Explains concepts really well and expects good results from you. Provides many extra credit too in case you do bad on the exams
Geography is life
He's makes it clear that he's passionate about geography and his previous work in his field. He offers EC to those that failed and gives them the chance to pass the test they failed, some of the exams were kinda hard but he puts up all the notes and lecture videos go into more detail about topics, studying doesn't have to be too rigorous to do well
At first, he says that if you miss 2 class, you only get a B or less in the course, but he's just saying that. If you DO show up to every single one of his lectures though, he will bump up your grade to the next letter. Make sure to thoroughly study his study guides for his exams. During every lecture, he will tell you guys potential exam questions
He is a great professor, He offers help and extends his time to make sure you understand the material. He says some funny jokes which brightens the class and just wants you to learn. if you talk to him he is understanding about anything. 10/10 would love to take another course this professor would teach again.
Professor Ibrahim was my absolute favorite college professor. Not only does he take the time to make sure everyone understands the material, he cares about student's wellbeing. Exams are fair, and he posts the lecture notes online, which go over every question that would appear on the exam. Show up, take notes, and you will get an A in the class!
Prof. Ibrahim was the most caring, respected, and enlightening teacher ive had. He motivates and cares for his students like they are his own children and it worked well. No textbook, No homework, No brainer. You learn applicable things in life in the course. Very easy tests in which he offers extensions and EC on all of them. He is hilarious too.
Professor Ibrahim is such a good professor. He posts the notes for students, and videos of the lectures for you to study from, and if you pay attention in class, he says a lot of what the exam content will be on. He also holds review sessions on zoom. You don't need the textbook for this class if you pay attention to his lectures and notes.
Very easy class. Just listen to him during class when he's giving lectures and be sure to remember everything he shows you on the slides. A lot of what is on the slides is going to be on the exams. Very caring professor, gives you everything you need to succeed including extra credit if you don't do well on exams.
I needed a 300+ level elective and this class was really easy. All we had to do was write a 15-page long research paper for the semester (its not as bad as it sounds). Professor Ibrahim is very lenient when it comes to deadlines and encourages everyone to get an A+. On a side note, he yaps too much
I'm shocked that this professor has good reviews. He comes in 15-30 mins late every class and always starts the class off yelling at us about how we are all going to fail. Since he's so late and cant fit the material in, he scheduled a zoom meeting on a sunday night and expected us all to join. When we couldn't, he told us we will all fail.
The guy comes late to class, yells at people saying they're going to fail and is a tough grader. He didn't give some people credit even when they got most of the questions right on the exam. He also wanted us to come to an optional meeting during break. One of the worst professors I've ever had.
He did come late to a lot of classes and overreacts sometimes but don't take it to heart. Trust in yourself to pass the class and call it a day. In terms of workload, there's no hw, exams are easy as long as you study the concepts in the notes (he even gives out exam questions in class). It's rlly hard to fail this class tbh so I'd recommend.
This professor is unprofessional when teaching, brushes students off after lecture and told to come to his office hours 5-7 pm. Personal problems affecting his teaching, rude to students, and extra credit is 2 points, want word for word on slides when explaining. Scaring people asking "Am I a bad person?", to get a reply no.
He's a good professor, he gave a chance/extra credits for student who have fail/lower grade on the exam. He is sometimes frustrated because we didn't do well on the exam like half of the class fail even though he provided the notes which is I appreciate and he add lecture video's for us to study(that's open 27/7).
Avoid this professor at all costs!!! listening to him drone on during lecture is miserable. he frequently goes on tangents about how we are horrible students, and guilt trips students into writing good reviews. this class is beyond disorganized. he is rude to students who ask questions. he gives extra credit, that's the only plus of this class.
He's a great and caring professor, and the lectures were knowledgeable, literally if you don't know anything about Geography, you'll leave the class with a lot of knowledge. if you got a low score on the exams, he gave you numerous opportunities throughout the semester to improve your grade. Lecture videos and notes were available 24/7.
Thr professor help us through the class. He showed that he cared not just for our grades but for us to learn the material and to succeed in life as well. Even though he was strict he also was attentive just like a father does with their children. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend taking this course.
5 highschoolers took this class and got A's. This class is a easy A, just put in some effort, LISTEN, and STUDY. This is college you need to try, you will be rewarded for trying in this class. Dr. Ibrahim pretends to be mean, he is bluffing, give him a chance, you will realize he's a nice guy if you talk to him individually. DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK.
The professor would act weird towards girls but also would speaks inappropriately to students in the class.
Professor Ibrahim's GEO101 class is an engaging learning experience. While his teaching style can be direct, he genuinely cares about student success. Lecture recordings and detailed notes make studying a breeze, and unstuck ai can be a helpful supplement.
This professor was investigated several times because of Title IX misconduct. He hugged and kissed a student on the cheek when she went to his office; she couldn't get away due to her broken ankle. He harassed other students and would try to lure them to his office. He would close the door to take advantage of his position and touch students.
He's really weird and creepy lol. But the class was easy.
It's time for this guy to retire. He has very odd and specific criteria for assignments. He basically uses the class as promotion for his academic paper.
Not only are his lectures boring and mostly unhelpful for the actual exams, there are a lot of allegations against him and that killed my motivation to care about anything that comes out of his mouth. Exams are poorly spaced and he constantly tells you how you're gonna fail the class and asks if he's a bad person. It's annoying and apparently true.
Do not take this professor at all cost, he doesn't help us to understand the lecture or material, he will constantly say you will fail and also say "I'm not a bad person" to guilt trip you to feel bad for him or to think he cares about us. He probably just doing his job for money he needs to retire.
While this class may seem like a heavy course in the beginning, it gets eaiser with time and plenty of notes.
Extremely easy class. He posts all of the notes and if you study them you will do great on tests. No homework and you don't actually need the textbook. The class is really boring and he just talks the whole time but it's an easy A
He is a very caring man genuinely cares about all his students. I like how he goes off topic and discusses real world problems and his real world experiences with handling these problems. He gives extra credit opportunities after each class. I would definitely take another class taught by him if I were here longer.
He only grades on the three tests he gives in class. The final is not cumulative. He already posts all the notes on his website - does not use brightspace. It's an easy A class and he's kind of funny, I found him sweet. He does come late most of the time though for class. You should take pictures when he shows diagrams because he doesn't add them.
