Excellent Professor. I absolutely despised the material before taking this course, and now I only kind of hate it. He is very helpful and gives you more than enough opportunity to get a good grade. There is a lot of homework assignments and quizzes but they are a good way of forcing you to learn the material.
Professor Mahgoub was very well prepared for every class and more than knowledgeable on the subject. I would definitely take another course with him in the future. If you slack off or don't do your homework you will not pass, but show some effort and he will help you attain your goal.
Very good proffessor. Always on time and ready to teach. Subject is not easy; but professor is always willing to help. I will definetely take another course with him.
One of NJIT's best professor! Mahgoub is very knowledgeable and helpful when you you have questions. He knows how to keep the audience's attention and make the class fun. Although MECH320 isn't an easy class, I manage to understand the materials well with just pay attention to his lectures. I would definitely sign up for his class again.
Excellent Professor! Very clear and patient. He is a little tough, but very fair. The only negative is that he uses a little too much time. Sometimes goes a half hour or so beyond class time.
Great professor, loves to teach and is really helpful. Makes class fun, and makes this difficult subject easy. I recommend him highly
Great professor. Keeps you awake throughout the class by making a boring class fun. Very helpful, will help during class, after class and before class. Fair grader, gives you what you deserve.
He is a great professor. Although the material is difficult, he helps you out until you understand it.
Good professor. He is helpful and nice. Although the material is difficult, he makes it fun and understandable.
He's the best Professor i have ever see in my academic career so far. He'll make you understand the subject even though you don't like it.He'll also give you very useful tips on how to study for exams. I strongly suggest him for this course.
Lots of hw, quiz every lecture, but professor is without a doubt one of the best at NJIT, Just do your work and you'll do fine. Try reading some of tue material before lecture so you can pick up on his Arab accent.
This professor is definitely one of the best I have ever encountered at NJIT, but you need heart and determination to be able to cope at first. He is very passionate and works tirelessly to make you enjoy the subject. As the class goes on, you realize just how good and how lucky you were to have him.I would definitely take him again!GREAT PROFESS0R
Really good professor, willingly to help you whenever you need it. He can go off on a tangent sometimes but it's usually useful information and just reinforces your knowledge. He knows his stuff and is passionate about the industry.
It's about time NJIT hires someone who is passionate about teaching and delivering the message regardless of how difficult the class is. He gives plenty of hw problems and a quiz after each lecture. He knows how to pull your attention and loves when someone tries to correct him and would admit he's wrong. If you show dedication, you have the A.
very passionate professor. has a thorough understanding of the material and presents it in an understandable. He cares that students understand the material and will gladly spend any amount of time helping students. He's worked in industry so he brings an additional perspective. very good professor. He's definition of how teaching should be done
This was my 1st professor at NJIT and he did not disappoint. He is extremely passionate about his craft. Very responsive in emails and is willing to spend additional time with students in order to learn the material. Also very sociable and funny. Quiz every lecture on basic concepts which are extremely helpful. Would definitely take him again.
Prof Mahgoub knows his trade and how to teach it. He'll teach you engineering not information from a text book. The material covered is dense but his work experience lending itself to CONCRETE examples allows for quick uptake and easy retention. Expect to be called on in class. Very quick to answer emails. Respect is a must in his class room.
Amazing professor! You will enjoy his class and learn the material. He understands the concepts an will help you understand them. Beyond this he is always willing to help. One of the hardest working professors in my opinion. He is very fun to have. ** Even when I was falling asleep he made sure I learned**
Great class in general. If you can help it, take the class with him and not the TA. You just can't get the same amount of understanding after taking the course. I can guarantee that had it not been for professor Mahgoub, I would not have done nearly as well. It's a tough course and you can get left behind if you don't have the right teacher.
Excellent professor, doesn't rely on textbook to teach, instead uses many of his own examples and methods that make more sense. Prof. Mahgoub is very charismatic and will keep you awake! I was not Interested in this class at all before taking it but with Prof. Mahgoub's teaching style the class was enjoyable.
very helpful professor. you have to attend each class in order to understand the materials. just do your homework and make sure you understand it and you will do fine. his exams are straight forward. professor mahgoub is available outside his office hours if you ask him for help. best professor ever at NJIT.
He gives extra time if you really want to learn
Very good professor, ready to help you at any time. His past experience help us to think as engineers, which is very nice. He is interested to make you learn, making this class worth to take.
attendance is a must. very nice professor but takes forever to grade anything. midterm and final exam are two weeks apart at the end of the semester. exams and quizzes are tough. theres also a 15 page paper you need to write.
Best professor ever.
One of the best professor I have taken in my college career. I can only name a handful of professors that are passionate about his teachings and willing to help students anytime. Even though I was not the best student in the class, I have learned and retained so much from the class in regards to Statics and in life. Best Professor in NJIT!
He is one of the few Professors that takes the time to clarify any and every topic discussed in class. The course curriculum may be considered to be rigorous but the quality of Dr. Mahgoub's lectures will rationalize each complex topic or problem into simple components that everyone can grasp.
Took Mech 320 in summer 2015, easy class, as long as you come to class he will pass you, but if you want an A you need to work really hard. Exams are pretty hard, but not insane.
One of the best professors I've had so far. He truly cares about his students and genuinely tries to make sure they understand the material rather than just know enough to pass the tests. He is knowledgeable, upbeat, funny and very fair with his test questions and grading.
Personally, I'm terrible at 3d problems but I had Mohamed Mahgoub for mech 320. Definitely my most difficult class and I passed with a A in the class. However,Mohamed is a brilliant man who is very knowledgeable in the field of all things CE . Great professor, Goes the extra mile. He is though and makes you work, but it pays off at the end
he is one of the best professors I have taken at NJIT. he was extremely helpful, supportive, and understanding. He genuinely cares about his students well being and hopes for they success.
Dr. Mahgoub is one of the best professors in NJIT. His goal is for you to understand the material and he will do his best in order for you to understand. It may seem as if he's loud and a little bit intimidating but he's actually warm and helpful. Just try to be on his good side. Be respectful and pay attention.
You can easily tell that he has a passion for teaching, and goes above and beyond for all of his students. I took him for a 6-9pm class, and sometimes he would stay up to an hour after the class is over answering questions or helping with quizzesassignments; wants you to understand! Tells a funny story every now and then to reengage students too.
Took him for dynamics which is a difficult class which requires effort to pass. Prof. Mahgoub is passionate about teaching and just wants students to understand the subject. He gives quizzes during every class to test who is paying attention. He has plenty of office hours and is always willing to help. He is one of the best prof. in NJIT cool dude
If you want to learn dynamics, this is the professor to take! Very helpful and enthused about the subject. Took class in summer term and I feel confident to say "that I know dynamics now!" Don't pass up an opportunity to take him. I had a great experience learning in his class. Thanks professor Mahgoub!
Prof. Mohamed is one of the best professor in Njit. One of his objective is when student live out the class room make sure they understand the course material which covered in the lecture. Therefore, every day he give quiz based on what they learned from todays lecture. This method of teaching make students to give special attention in class room
He moves very quickly through the material but that's expected in a summer course. Obviously very knowledgeable about the subject material and is here to help you learn. You can tell he likes to teach and it shows. Would take him again.
Makes mistakes on the board, but is hilarious about it. As long as you follow along, the mistakes aren't a big deal.
His class was very informative, it will help you improve your fundamentals in dynamics. He actively engages students and looks for feedback, this interaction and class involvement makes the class enjoyable. He is the most awesome professor. He cares about students who wants to learn, explains the material really well.
Professor Mahgoub is a fantastic professor who is clearly knowledgeable in the subject. He gave us an open note quiz at the end of each lecture to review what we had learned. For this reason, you need to show up to class. As long as you put in the time, do the homework, and listen in class, you should be fine. I would absolutely take him again!
Very good professor. He really wants to make sure that you understand the material, so he will help you for as long as you need it.
best professor and so helpful
Very dedicated professor, shows his passion that he will ensure that if the student does not understand the material he will explain things in a manner to help the student learn
He is a great funny professor that really want to see students succeed. Studying in the textbook before and after class will greatly improve what is retained in the class lectures. I would definitely take him again if I could. The one thing I wish to see is that the examples done in class are a bit harder to make other problems look easy.
I do like his teaching
The professor will stay late in class just so you can umderstand what he went over during his lecture. Use this to help you learn!
The summer course was at a much quicker pace and suggested not to take this class if it's your first time. Other than that the lessons are quick and to the point to access the essences of dynamics in 4 weeks. Great and friendly professor, would take again for another course if possible.
There are quizzes every class so if you miss class you won't pass. He's a cool guy, but his teaching methods are much better when he writes out the solutions on the board rather than just scrolling on the projector. He is a great professor and is willing to help as long as you as about it.
Great professor ! Make you think of possibilities of problems solution and methods !
Makes class exciting even in a 3 hour summer night class.
Overall Great Prof. makes it fun even in summer. he is even better when he writes on board instead of going through projector
Good teacher. Goes a bit too fast but it's because it's a summer course. Should work through the entire problem. Overall explains material well and isn't boring.
Good teacher. Goes a bit too fast but it's because it's a summer course. Should complete the entire problem. Overall explains material well and isn't boring.
Great Professor, the material is not difficult but it can get tricky sometimes, I took this class during the summer and it is a fast paced course, so prepare yourself before going to class.
Professor Mohamed Mahgoub definitely belongs to the small elite of good professors at NJIT. He really wants his students to learn the material and he resolves your doubts when you ask him questions. Overall, he manages to convey the lecture but you have to pay attention because he goes through it very fast during the summer sessions.
I enjoy this summer class, even though it was fast paced, the professor managed well the subject material. Fair quizzes, midterm and final exam. Fair with the grading too. The quiz after every class approach was pretty good, makes u apply the knowledge you just gained in class. Made me understand the material better. Grate class overall!
Professor Mahgoub provided very concise information relevant to dynamics and is obliged to clarify important conceptual misunderstnding in order to help us learn. Totally recommended!
Hands down one of the best professors you will have here at this school. I recommend reading up on the class lecture before class, it helps immensely. He makes you work for your grade but is always helps. He expects the most out of you and as long as you show effort he will reciprocate. I wish I he was in my major and I could take another class.
There are so many tags that fit his description. Obviously, GREAT Professor. The lectures are clear. He makes sure everyone is on the same page by giving quizzes at the end of his lectures. Gives lots of feedback at the beginning of the next lecture. Study hard the practice exams and homework, they have test bases.
He's a great professor and really wants you to succeed. He is clearly very knowledgeable in Dynamics and makes the class interesting and exciting. He helped me and even motivated me to keep going and not give up.
Very unique professor for the university that uses his enthusiasm to motivate and keep students alert. Would recommend.
The professor shows that he really cares for you to do well in the class, and he will do his best to help you out too. It's definitely not an easy A class; you gotta work for your grades but that's cuz he really wants u to know the material. On the side, the prof can be pretty funny and chill as well
Very good professor and cares about you learning
One of the best professors I have had at NJIT. I recommend asking questions if you get stuck on a topic, he will make sure that you understand the topic before moving ahead.
He is one of the best professors at NJIT. He is very passionate about his subject and makes a 3 hour lecture fly by with how much energy he has. Every sample he goes over in the lecture is in the textbook and is useful in studying for the course. He will make you work for your grade so don't expect an easy A.
very good professor... probably one of the best professor I've been around at NJIT.
Very good teacher, he explained the lectures very well, I would take him again
A man who never is taken back by a challenge. Always ready for anything that comes to him. This class was by far the best class I have had at NJIT. He breaks topics and theories down to a level where my 4th grade brother would understand it. He is very caring and is always out to help students. Even if you don't ask for help he will guide you.
Took this class during the summer so all of the material was condensed so you CANNOT miss a class. It is not an easy class and the subject is difficult and requires a lot of time but Professor Mahgoub was very helpful to ensure that you understand the material in order to pass the class. He is very caring and inspirational. Would take again.
I learned a lot. I would deff take him again.
Really kind and caring, kept class interesting, 6-9 classes could be horrible but his is actually enjoyable
Great Professor. Really knows what he is doing. If you do your work you will learn a lot and do well. Very caring and will help you out.
Very clear and straightforward with the material. Step by step examples in class and amount of assignments is reasonable
This is probably one of the best Professors Ive taken at NJIT!!
Excellent professor, gives wonderful, detailed, examples and while the class was happening, he had a lot going on with his personal life but made sure to prioritize the class and his students first. Not sure what kind of a professor he is over the semester, but if he is anything like he is in the summer session, take him without hesitation.
The best professor at NJIT. If he teaches every class, i would take him over and over again. Dr. Mahgoub is very knowlegable and knows his stuff. I learned from him better than my Strength of materials professor.
Great professor, we had a lot of laughs and he kept the class engaged and excited to be there to learn.
By far one of the best teachers I've had at NJIT. Very informative, he gets the students to think, easily accessible outside of class. Extremely funny and can teach the material clearly. Slightly tough grader, but flexible with final grades if you did your work. I would ABSOLUTELY take the professor again.
He cares very much about how well you do in this class and will help you as long as you are putting in the effort. I took him over the summer and we had quizzes every class, I'm not sure how that translates to spring or fall. He is very knowledgeable on the subject. As long as you actually do the homework and some extra problems you should be ok.
Tests are hard, but it is a hard subject... one of the best professors I've ever taken . He really wants you to understand Will always remember his inspiration speeches and caring personality
great professor
I took him for MECH 236. Really one of the best professors I took for one of my classes. I would definitely recommend taking him.
He was a great professor. Although for some reason thinks that every student cheats
Amazing. The way he teaches hooks you into the subject. He will do his best for you to understand the coursework. Make sure you ask questions, it helps.
Professor Mahgoub is very encouraging, and will help you when he finds you are struggling. It's in your best interest to participate whenever possible as it helps solidify the crazy amount of material covered in dynamics.
Professor Mahgoub is a helpful and resourceful professor in MECH 236. As the course is accelerated, he makes everything clear and the material understanding for the students. However, do not take this summer class along with other summer classes as all summer courses are accelerated and prioritizing one course may be difficult.
Fantastic professor, enjoyed the class, made sure everyone truly grasped the concepts of the course not just about grading.
There is never a dull moment in Professor Mahgoub's class. He is incredibly entertaining and able to hold the classes attention until 9pm. He is able to cover a lot of material and he covers it well given the time constraints. He recognizes hard work and can see when someone gets it. If you have a chance to take Professor Mahgoub's course, take it.
great professor, I was never bored in this 6-9 class and time would fly by. He is able to keep the class engaged in the topic, despite it being really hard. My only complaints would be that he gives the quizzes too late so we always leave after 9.
This guy is loud, proud and very outgoing! 100% the in your face professor but is the best for it! He really know the material and will do everything he can to help you understand the material!
Dynamics over the summer is tough because it is condensed but Prof Mahgoub did a great job at presenting all the info needed to do well. I was never a fan of the open note quizzes at the end of each class, better to be first thing next class but he does a great job at helping make sure you are able to understand. Go to him for help! Very Caring!
This man is clinically insane, he is also insanely good at teaching. His lectures are amazing, everything is so clear and easy to understand. He doesnt really care about grades. He only cares if you can learn. Thats why during the midterm, I was so ready to go to the bathroom and cheat, but i have so much respect for this man so i didnt cheat
Professor Mahgoub is an excellent Professor and a great person. I'm a Rutgers student and he's one of the best Professors I had at NJIT and Rutgers. He's great at what he does and so passionate. He gives out quizzes after every class that are open notes, but they're still tricky. Professor Mahgoub literally stayed there until 10pm until I finished.
Professor Mahgob is the best professors I had in my entire life and thats coming from a Rutgers student. This class is very tough especially in the summer but he is so committed to the students that the time flies. He gives a quiz after every class( but dont worry it is open notebook, he helps you, sometimes gives the answers. PleaseTEACH MECH237
The professor goes over many examples from the textbook and also gives open booked quizzes at the end of every lecture to help us keep focused. Showing effort and attention to details will boost your chances of receiving good remarks. Overall, his summer class was very rewarding and entertaining.
Professor Mahgoub is an excellent professor showing passion to what he does. The class is condensed in the summer making it a little harder for the student but the professor puts his best effort going over multiple examples on the material. At the end of class we would have open notes quizzes which the professor assists on. I would take him again!
I have taken many 6-9pm classes and no one can compare to this one. Even though the lectures are heavy, summer, time flies. The professor really makes sure you have a good time and understand the material. Gives you a quiz at the end of every class, if you need some extra time or help, he makes sure you get it. Adding that it is open book.
Professor Mahgoub is one of the best professors I've had in 3 years at NJIT. He genuinely cares for your progress throughout the course session, and will help you even if it means staying after class. He taught Dynamics and well, the man himself is a walking embodiment of the subject. You will not be bored in his class.
my professor is a good teacher because he has a deep knowledge, gave us extra time and encourage us to keep going in our way to get success in our major.
Professor Mahgoub is very passionate. He shows he enjoys what he does and wants his students to succeed.
Professor Mahgoub is one of the best Professors I've had at NJIT. He explains the material clearly and thoroughly. In addition, he is always willing to answer a question and encourages them. He stays after class to help those who need it. Having him as a Professor has been an honor and I definitely recommend him to others.
Review the chapter before class. Sit in the front row if you want to read his writing. Material is difficult. Really nice guy.
You have 2 test in the summer. Midterm exam and Final. Both equally hard. He will remember your name if you participate. So participate. Quiz after each class. Dont take if you have other classes in the summer.
If you pay attention, do your homework, and engage in the material, you'll do fine. He's more than willing to work with you outside of class to help you learn the material.
If you pay attention to his lectures and do the homework you wilo do fine. Don't do anything shady during the test because he will know your cheating.
Great Professor. He knows his stuff and makes a difficult subject sound so easy. Brush up on your Physics I and you should be fine for this class.
Good proffeser
Mohamed Mahgoub is a wonderful professor. Took him for this Summer Session 2 and was surprised by how caring he is and how understanding he is to help the students.
Professor Mahghoub is a very kind and caring person. He truly knows his information very well, and is always willing to re-demonstrate a concept in class. He cares about the material, which translates to his lectures. He is a a bright and vivid personality, who is full of good information. I am taking him right now for Session 1 and I am pleased.
Great teacher who knows the subject very well. Questions are always answered very clearly, and he makes the class very straightforward. I would definitely take one of his classes again.
Professor Mahgoub is a very caring professor and his lectures are to the point and entertaining. He holds your attention the whole time and makes it easy to follow along and pay attention. He does give quizzes at the end of every class, but I think it gives a little extra motivation to follow along. I would definitely take him again.
Great professor!!
Great professor that can teach the subject very well. Quizzes at the end of class is something that i like in his class because it forces me to focus. Overall outstanding professor that cares about his students. Even though its a 6-9 class he will not put you to sleep. Will definitely take him again!
Good all around professor that breaks down the subject very well and knows how to explain topics. quizzes at the end of class ensure that you pay attention and understand material. would take again.
Professor Mahgoub is one of the best professors I've ever had. He really wants you to succeed and will help you whenever you reach out to him. The quiz and exam questions are straight forward and aren't meant to trick you. The class moves fast, so don't wait to study until the weekend before the exam.
Dr. Mahgoub is a great Prof. with straight forward lectures which he makes very entertaining so you will pay attention, which you should because there is a open notes quiz at the end of every class, which he will help you on if you're stuck. Very nice guy who definitely cares about his students. Exams are straight forward, but do not forget units!
Dr, Mahgoub is a great professor! He keeps the class entertaining so it is easy to focus in class, quite-honestly it does not feel like a 3 hr. class. There are open note quizzes at the end of each class. The material is not difficult but its a lot to cover in a month, so you really have to keep up. Overall Dr. Mahgoub wants his students to succeed
Dr. Mahgoub was a great professor. His lectures are very clear and direct which makes it easier to focus on during class. The quizzes that he provides after each lecture encourage you to try to really understand the concepts that he's presenting. He is a professor who cares about his students and I would definitely take him again.
Would not hesitate to take another course with Prof. Mahgoub. He is able to teach the subject in a way that is understandable and does not try to surprise you when it comes time for exams. We went over multiple examples in lecture and he was able to answer any questions students have. Participation definitely matters, and he remembers those who do.
Engaging prof, does best to keep class interesting. Took as summer course so it was a 3 hour lecture MW w/ last 30 minutes-hr as daily quiz. Prof Mahgoub made it really not too bad to stay focused for the 150ish minutes. Quizzes straight forward and a real grade boost. Grades fairly generously. Taught & graded much better than at my home college
Professor Mahgoub has such amazing character. His lectures are always interesting, you won't fall asleep. You will laugh and more importantly learn the principles that need understanding in the Engineering Field. He truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed, and does encourage participation. He also gives career changing advice.
One of the best professors and also hilarious. The lectures are long but he gets straight to the point and explains every detail in the problems. He cares a lot for the students and wants to see every student pass and be a great engineer by making us work under pressure. A great professor to take, you will learn and also have fun.
This professor cares about his students - will work through any situation and is extremely understanding. He won't outright fail you but will def give you a D if you deserve it. Work hard, ask questions, don't be afraid to mess up. The course moves very quick, would not recommend taking with another summer course. Overall highly recommend.
His class is a little bit complicated. However, it is very entertained.
Professor Mahgoub is a fantastic Professor who truly cares about his students. You MUST put work into this class to get the best results. Although lectures can be long, he is super funny and will keep you entertained. He has good availability and will work with you through any situation. I highly recommend professor Mahgoub!
Professor Mahgoub is fantastic! Don't be shy, utilize him as much as you can because he makes himself available for you. Participate! That way he remembers you. There's a quiz directly after the lecture, but it's open book. His examples are hilarious & he tells stories. Lectures are very to the point! Don't worry about integration for his class
He is a pretty solid professor. Show up, pay attention, do the work and ask questions, youll be fine. His hand writing is not very clear so it helps to sit close to the front and ask questions. His exams are fair if not a bit challenging, he goes over the material and examples well. For the summer session there was a quiz every class.
Professor Mahgoub is one of the best professors that I have taken so far. His lectures are amazing because its straight to the point which makes the material simple to understand and follow.
I was worried that this class was going to be a snooze fest over the summer, but I was very wrong. Professor Mahgoub is probably one of the best if not the best professors at NJIT. He's very enthusiastic and full of energy. He doesn't ramble on about the topic and gets straight to the point. He makes it hard not to pay attention. 10/10
I can easily say that Dr. Mahgoub is one of the best professors Ive ever had or likely ever will have. Hes extremely invested in his students progress and makes a clear effort to keep the class engaged and focused on every lecture. His overall lighthearted demeanor and care for his students are unmatched and something I will definitely remember.
Professor Mahgoub is one of the better Professors you'll encounter at NJIT. Ordinarily, a three hour lecture sounds like torture but he's a funny guy and actually kept us engaged within the lectures through his real life experiences and stories. If you put in the effort you will see the results so make sure to study and ask for help if needed.
He is definitely the best professor I've had at NJIT. I had his online Dynamics class amidst the quarantine, and he made class not only very thorough, but very enjoyable. He is a great professor that will help very quickly if you ask for it. I highly recommend him.
Amazing professor, you can tell he really cares about the class. Participation is recommended, he doesn't take attendance but he teaches a specific method so you might not get full credit. 1 hw per week, usually 4 questions. His exams are fair and if you do the hw you will have a better understanding of the questions. Overall a great professor.
He is very good. Even though you use the book, he works on the necessary examples needed for the course, so in reality, you don't need the book, but shhh. He cares a lot about what he teaches, and gives you a lot of opportunities to learn the material. I would take him again.
He is a very good teacher and is passionate about what he teaches. He is caring and is always available to answer any necessary questions. He makes the class more enjoyable. He covers what is needed for the exams and if you study that material you should be fine. I would take him again.
Great professor, really knows the material and teaches in a manner in which everyone can understand. Make sure to pay attention as he wants problems done in a specific manner. Always there for help as well.
I was honestly scared to take this class online. However, Professor Mahgoub is very well suited to teach online classes and I highly recommend Professor Mahgoub to anyone taking Dynamics. He tells you exactly what he wants to see and makes the problems very straightforward for what he wants.
MECH 236 is a difficult course. When you have to take it, take it with Professor Mahgoub. He is very knowledgeable of the material, funny, and most importantly he wants his students to do well. He is understanding and has a great attitude. He makes you want to do well in class.
One of the best professors, he mainly cares about your understanding of the course material. Participation is a big key. You can literally email him at any time of the day and he'll answer (got an email response at 1 am). If you put and show effort in wanting to learn the material then you should be fine.
Has a specific way that you must do things in order to make sure that you understand. Funny guy who cares about his students as long as you put in the effort.
Dr. Mahgoub is one of the best professors at NJIT. He cares a lot about every student and wants to see everyone do well. Each class is very packed with material, but he keeps it interesting and includes real-world examples. The exams are very reasonable, and his grading is very fair. I would definitely take him again.
Professor Mahgoub makes this difficult class as easy as possible. He spends a ton of time going through examples and keeps the homework simple, making the exams a bit easier as nothing is unexpected. It's important to attend class because he has specific methods that you need to use when solving problems in homework and on exams.
Solid professor overall. Requires you to explain your math, which is very tedious. Other than that, really good professor who cares about his students.
Cool guy, one of the more genuine professors in NJIT in my opinion. His drawings are a little bit difficult to read, though.
He is a good professor but he talks too fast and has a little accent. He tries his best to breakdown the concept to understand better. He tests you on how well you understand the topics, to pass his class understands small details like why to use this equation, not the other ones. His exams are tricky, that will make you stuck during the exam.
He is a really great professor. Although the class material is quite tough, he breaks it down really well. He teaches his own methods which is really helpful. If you keep up with homework, ask questions (participation) and study enough outside of class you are guaranteed to pass.
Professor Mahgoub is the best professor I have ever had at NJIT. This is due to his accessibility outside of class and his respect for his students. His understanding and knowledge of the material really shows during his lectures. If you are a student who completes your homework and participates in class, Professor Mahgoub will make MECH236 easy.
Terrible lecturer. Goes way too fast and horrible handwriting, very hard to keep up with. Whole semester was self taught basically. Again it was online and maybe hes better in person. Nothing against the man just not a great professor.
Professor Mahgoub is a great professor. His exams force you to think about the concepts rather than just the applications. You will never get bored of his lectures as they are funny and energetic. Overall, be prepared to work but get ready for a great semester. Good luck!
He does go over problems you actually see so that's a plus but the way he tries to teach is just him yelling the whole time and not so much teaching. He spends more time trying to set up traps to see if you cheat then trying to explain a problem fully. list of red flags and if you even do one thing worth suspicion you'll be flagged for the semester
Although he is very extreme, he is a pretty good professor. He explains exactly how you should do each problem . If he doesn't think you understand the material, he'll make you do an oral examination. That being said, he explains the material well and cares about his students. Don't be discouraged by his rules and participate as much as possible!
Forget completely about thinking outside the box, if you do not do the questions HIS WAY (which in dynamics is pretty unnecessary since it can be viewed in many ways) you're not getting the credit and will have to do an oral exam. You'll spend more time worrying about all the TRAPS he puts on exams to try and catch cheaters than actually learn.
Great Professor. Explains everything clearly and is very excited in his lectures. Hes pretty loud and interactive so youll be focused. HW each week. Usually, 5 difficult questions so not horrible. That said, he is so convinced that everyone is cheating that forgetting to put a sign convention or using an equation from the book means cheating to him
RUDE, N WILL KILL YOUR GPA
Nice guy but teaching methods are outdated.
This guy lacks communication skills and will not teach with any compontency.
Don't be deceived by this rating. You want to pass the class? you won't unless you pass the final, if you are the type of student that strives at the start of the semester to later chill during finals you won't get a chance. He will try to talk you into staying in the class but follow your inner voice and take the class with another instructor.
I took this during the summer and it went pretty smoothly. HW is ok. He definitely knows how to keep the class engaged and he always takes questions even if they seem obvious. The midterm and final make up a large portion of the grade, and the questions in them combine a lot of different concepts, so be sure to have a solid foundation in physics 1.
He has a big personality. Some people won't like his class at all. I feel that I got a great background in dynamics thanks to him. I did not get amazing grades but still ended with an A because he values putting in effort with homework and trying your best. I think his class is a challenge but good for those that want to learn dynamics thoroughly.
Challenging but engaging class. Professor has high expectations, so stay on top of HW and be ready for difficult exams. Unstuck study can help with study prep. Overall, you'll gain a solid dynamics foundation if you put in the effort.
Lectures were clear and in concise in a course with a variety of topics, lectures were example heavy, homework problems and lecture examples mirror what you will see on quizzes and exams, fair grader, open to questions, very accessible outside of class, he can talk for days so make sure to stop and ask questions when you have them, best ME236 Prof
