Awesome professor, he is extremely easy, but misses class constantly.
You cant go wrong with this professor! Probably one of the best Calc professor. group quizzes, tons of extra credit offered. Very lenient grader. Do your homework and study normal and you should cruise on by. -Richard Streep
Great Professor! He is very easy to understand. He gives extra credit assignments as well.
He is a great professor.Very clear when it came to teaching. Made math problems simpler than what they were. You'll enjoy the class even if your not very good at math. Very little hw and exams are pretty easy if you put some effort to study. Highly recommend him. :]
very clear and instructive professor. Makes math problems easier to understand. He gives out a few group quizzes which were very useful prior to the exams. Easy class if you just apply yourself this professor has a great balance of a challenge and yet an easy approach when it comes to calculus--Krista Ramirez
Dr. Nouh is a great teacher, he is very clear in his work and explains everything very good. He is also very helpful
A very laid back professor that was very helpful in explaining concepts and giving excellent examples. Overall a great professor and I would recommend a class taught by him to anyone.
Very good lectures. Very clear explanations. One of the best math teachers I've studied under.
I found Dr. Nouh to be a great professor. He will often practice a problem several times so that the class can master it. I would recommend his class to other students.
Dr. Nouh is a phenomenal professor. His lectures are great and explanations are very effective. This class made me change my major to math, I really recommend it.
Very good professor. Straight to the point.
Excellent professor! Always willing to explain if you didn't understood! Would definetely take another math class with him!
helpful, easy going and really cooperative with students
He is a great professor, he is always available if you didn't understand and his exams are just what you learned in class.
Very useful review and study guides. Very helpful teaching style and easy to understand homework assignments.
Dr. Nouh was very lenient with curbs on exams which I greatly appreciated.
Good teacher, very clean on what's Going to be on the tests. Very helpful and a good amount of extra credit work.
good class
This class isn't as difficult as I first imagined, do your work, take advantage of the extra credit and Dr. Nouh helps along the way.
This professor was very helpful and was always willing to meet during his office hours if you had any problems. There is no way to not pass this course.
Overall good class, yet you must put interest in it to work as well.
Dr. Nouh is a great professor. There is plenty of opportunity for extra credit. Also, you can work on research projects with Dr. Nouh throughout the semester. It is a good calculus class to take.
He gives a lot of extra credit there is no excuse for failing. A little disorganized never picks up hw in time and changes his mind about test dates often. Very helpful though
I did not advance in or practice any calculus with this guy what so ever. I really do wonder what era of time is going through his head by giving us 3 homework assignments through out the entire semester. None the less, if math is a minimal requirement for your major, then choose this guy. It's like PE
this professor is very laid back and relaxed. he made us buy the web assign but it doesn't look like he is going to even grade it so waste of money. i signed up for math 1320 and he is teaching us 1508 and notes are very unclear as well as his accent! test are easy if you pay attention they are about his lectures. wouldn't recommend him for 1320
Amazing Professor. The easiest math professor in all of UTEP. If you are like me, very bad in math, taking it for a requirement, take Dr. Nouh. He only assigns 4 homework assignments during the semester. And if u did not do well on an exam or a quiz, just go to him and ask if u can have extra credit and he will give it to u. I recommend him!!!!!
This professor is witty funny and intelligent. He allowed us to do quizzes as groups so this was interesting to me because we not only learned from him but from each other as well. He is real, not pretentious at all. As long as you TRY you will do well, just make friends in the class. I found that he is more responsive by email.
There were only 3 homework assignments the entire semester. Changes test dates and always tells us he needs a vacation. Make friends in the class and it will be a breeze.
If you need the class for just a requirement and want an easy A, then take him. If you need to learn the subject then avoid him if possible. To learn, you must put in a lot of your own time and effort. He is going to lecture until you need a quiz, when he hasn't even given any hw. The class was clueless for the most part. Nice guy, approachable.
It's very easy to pass his class, but you won't learn anything. He's never in his office hours, he's not reliable, sometimes his speaking is difficult to understand, and he doesn't care whether you show up to class or not. If you want to actually learn take another professor, but it's an easy A. If you like to pay and not learn anything take him.
If I had the chance of taking Mohamed for another class I totally would. He covers everything that needs to be covered and is very intelligent. He is a bit witty and will make his class more interesting with "Spicy Chicken" questions. His tests are a bit hard but they are passable, you just have to study the right material.
I took Calculus 1 with Professor Nouh, and I greatly recommend it. After passing with a C my Pre-calculus class, I was sure that I was going to fail Calculus 1. He is really good at explaining the material. He can be very fun and sarcastic. You will learn and it may even be fun. You will have weekly quizzes, 3 exams, and a final. Not a lot of HM.
Good professor, exams are a little bit hard, attendance isnt mandatory but if you miss one class you will miss a lot of material.
he gives extra credit
Dr. Nouh will help you as long as you come to class, pay attention, participate, and don't just sit in the back sleeping during class.
This guy is the bomb. Attendence is not manditory but yiu have to go if you want to pass.
I took this professor for cal 2. I personally enjoyed this class. He made learning the subject easy. If you have questions, ask. Most people don't ask and they end up struggling later on. Don't mess with your phone during class if you don't want to be called out. PAY ATTENTION. He is funny and makes attending class enjoyable.
Good teacher, he has fun with his class. His test are not hard if you study for them, and he's willing to give extra points if needed. Overall the class is easy, but be prepared to get some "spicy chicken" problems on exams. Recommended if you really need to pass the class once and for all.
Gives good lectures and goes straight to the point.
Dr. Nouh is very smart and fun! On his lectures he always goes traight to the point instead of wasting time on certain parts of the problem that we are suposed to already know. His pace is very fast, at first it is hard to keep up, but you will get used to it.
Took his class for Cal 2, very straight to the point professor, expect a full hour of facts and "spicy chicken" problems. If you participate and sit in the front you will learn more, asking questions is key since he does go through the class at a fast pace. The tests are very easy if you pay attention and attend his review. Gives extra credit.
Dr. Nouh is a great proffesor who is passionate about the material. I learned the most from this math class then anyother math class taken at utep.
Dr. Nouh is the best professor available at UTEP under the Mathematics department, It is the first time I've taken a class with him and I am planning on taking 2 more classes with him next semester because of the wonderful learning experience I had with him. Gives extra credit to help students who struggle at the beginning. Highly recommended.
He is a good professor and knows what he is doing, he says he loves Cal 2 so he enjoys teaching it. Tests are hard but if you study you should do fine. Very little homework or quizzes, but he wants students to pass so gives a good curve.
Best professor in UTEP. I wish he would give all my other courses.
Funny professor, his classes were always unexpected and fun, always motivated me to be in class, quizzes and exams had curves, but solvable, would definitely take again!
He has an accent, sit in the front if u want to actually understand, he is available for help IF U SHOW YOU WANT IT & IF YOU GO set up something w him, ask for extra credit & he will most likely give you some, show effort to get an A, he definitely curves. Also you can miss class here in there but only if u have friends to let u know wht u missed
A good teacher with spicy questions, but I personally found the class hard. The tests are hard actually. Not much homework. Don't worry to much on the quizzes if you are doing well with everything else. Attendance is optional but he pays attention to who shows up. Do extra credit, its worth it.
great professor, and fun class
A great professor, he clearly know his stuff and is willing to work things with. He gives plenty of extra credit and doesnt require a text book.
Dr. Nouh was consistently late to every class, anywhere from 3 minutes to 19 minutes. There was work given, meaning no way to learn. He would leave in the middle of class to go get coffee or just leave. I would never take a class with him again.
He is one of the rudest professors I have come across. He is not afraid to call out students and humiliate them unnecessarily. Test are few and difficult. The homeworks are long, but fairly easy. Quizzes are non-existent. His teaching methods are terrible and everyone is confused. He promises extra points, but never gives them out. Always late too!
Reading some of the reviews, i agree, he is not the best lecturer, teaching wise, but he's an easy lecturer to work with. He throws out extra marks on exam like candy on Halloween. He is easy to finesse. I was able to get everyone in my class an extra 10marks on our final exam!!!
He's okay... just go to the lectures and take notes to pass the class. Doesn't explain very good but goes over the problems that will be in the exams. 4 exams and final replaces lowest grade
Didn't even get through half the course. Learned nothing, he showed up late every class and let us go early. Didn't know what he was doing half the time. Beyond rude to his students. How this guy still has a job is beyond me.
Didn't explain material very well, he would usually get frustrated when students didn't know the answers and dismiss the class early. Every time we asked for help on a question he would just say to look at the book. Didn't learn anything from him, basically learned through my textbook and webassign.
He would not explain the material. Works the problem halfways and expects you to know everything. A lot of homework usign WebAssign. Dismiss the class early almost every time, and he is late. Rude to students. And most importantly, didn't learned anything from him.
easiest A of my academic career. 3 exams and 3 homeworks all semester. two pages of notes for every exam is allowed.
Take his class if you need to pass. If you want to learn, dont take anything with this guy. Late to class everyday at least 20 minutes. Easy grade overall but subpar professor.
Straightforward professor and makes hard topic easy to understand. He can be rude if you ask him a stupid question. He is more interested in doing research than teaching and UTEP should give him credit for that if they want him to give a 100%, otherwise he will not care for students and do the bare minimum. Very smart professor !
I took this course to meet my requirement, but I had some knowledge of what was taught. Attendance isn't a priority. If you do not care about your grade, neither does he. I liked him in that he was straight to the point with his lectures, however I did have to teach myself in some things when it came to the hw. Easy enough A if you actually try.
Do not take him unless you already know the material from high school. He is nice but he is a terrible teacher. If you just need the credit and already know precalculus, and calculus, go ahead, but if you struggle with math, choose another professor.
Unless you know the material from high school you will most likely struggle in this class. He does give quite a bit of extra credit and his practice exams are helpful to prepare for the actual exam. There is a lot of homework and it is all online and very time consuming.
He gives alot of extra credit
Great professor. Very direct and don't like texting in class. Do your part and you will understand when it comes to the lecture part.
Professor Nouh is a really good teacher. At first he may come off as intimidating and unapproachable, but he is more than willing to meet with students after class to provide one-on-one help. He is INCREDIBLY knowledgeable and if you pay attention in his class, you will excel. Though he takes mathematics seriously, hes humorous. I highly recommend
Great professor, doesnt like texting in class, gives extra credit opportunities. Tries to explain the course and counts assistance.
He would describe how some of the topics we would cover per chapter would apply to real life. For example, he described how learning these certain functions applies to those who want to be engineers and one function is vital to get right to build bridges. He also would give us a little history about the topics as well.
he doesn't explain things very thoroughly but does know what he's doing. ask for help from other peers and teachers to help.
explained the chapters quickly and with a few examples notes are to be written down exactly to understand
Attendence is not mandatory amd sometimes extra credit. You have to study on your own have an easy A. Quizzes and Exams are just 5 quedtions. Homework is just webassign.
Attendence is not mandatory amd sometimes extra credit. You have to study on your own to hace an easy A.
With Professor Mohamed, you have to keep up with the lectures; read the chapter before hand. He explains the material that would be in the text book. Most of the homework/assignments are on Webassign. At times, he would be behind on our assignments, such as grading them or uploading them on Webassign.
The first two exams are well covered; however, Trigonometry is not thoroughly explained and you will be lost, to the point you will not be sure what to ask. My tip is to review each chapter on Webassign before each lecture. There is hefty amount of homework (at least 40), but it is easily manageable and done if you do it ahead of time.
Good teacher, if his lessons seem a little confusing reading the book also helps if need more clarification. Mainly based on tests, homework is somewhat hard, and the quizzes are similar to the tests!
He is a good professor, the only thing you have to do is to go to classes and he doesn't do final exam.
Hes aight. Hilarious professor but was frustrating when he would take forever to extend homework assignments the whole class was behind on. Only take this class if youre good at precal and dont care too much about learning it again.
Good professor. Does not complete examples. You are on your own to figure it out. It was hard to figure out the instructions on homeworks and tests.
Always late to class. Doesnt speak proper English. Gets frustrated when asking questions. Is not good at teaching whatsoever.
Worst professor . Late to class. Didnt show up to 2 classes ( without notifying). He gets frustrated if you dont understand. Doesnt put grades on black board. He Is NEVER at his office hours. He doesnt care about his students. He made it clear that he wasnt assigned the class Im in and was given it last minute but how is that OUR fault
He is not the best and gets frustrated when we did not know the material. He told the class they made him teach that class last minute and it really showed. He had nothing prepared and does not really know how to teach. He did give extra credit just because of how bad the class was doing. And he never answers his emails.
This professor truly doesn't care if you come to class or not and although it seems like he doesn't want to be there himself he seems to enjoy instructing an interactive class. My only gripe is that he'll sometimes quiz you on things that he hasn't gone over yet but he usually wont dock you for not knowing.
Besides being late to class, he was fine for the section of the class that was face to face. When we went online, he proceeded to stop lecturing and pretty much did not exist. He takes FOREVER to respond to students and will tell you that he will do something that he does not end up doing. Was told I'd receive extra credit and DIDN'T too many times
This professor does not know how to communicate with his students. If you want to learn something avoid this professor. I took him for summer I and he was no where to be found. Assignments were uploaded the last week of class with no prior notice. The whole class was confused by this guy and I can guarantee that no one learned anything.
i took this class online and he never gave us a lecture and never responds his emails just sent the information of the books in powerpoints. you will pass this class with mathway and chegg the workshop was helpfull in someway. ypu will need to purchase webassign and relay on it all the course . not recomended
Textbooks were never used but had to buy in order to acess homework assignments. Never taught anything but did send info through powerpoints, but usually after assignments were due. Never responded to emails so very unhelpful. Overall, the class wasnt that hard if proper resources were used and youre good at self teaching.
Took him online and at the beginning of the semester he told us that he would hold lectures twice a week- he did not. He didnt even let us know he wasnt going to hold them, the class was just left wondering if it was their fault they couldnt find the link. Also doesnt reply to emails. Its literally a fully self-taught course.
If you need to contacted him just do it by text! He responses faster and at any time. He is always willing to help and doesn't take out points if you turn things late. the exams will always be schedule for the next day after the review (BE AWARE) The homework is not that hard, most of them have videos or places were to find them.
It felt as if you were on your own, no lectures were given, and sometimes had to figure things out on your own. Class work was fairly easy overall!
I took him for Pre Calc at Cal Poly SLO. He was funny and made learning math a little easier. Classes went by quickly. He offered extra credit if you ask and doesnt make you do it on math. The only bad quality I would add is that he never really responded to emails and does not make a huge effort to students who want to make up quizzes
