He is the best Finance 323 instructor at ODU. I had to drop the course before due to another instructors unclarity, but with Mr. Rahoui the subject matter was clear, a little difficult but, understanding. He has an accent but not a problem. The tests are just like the homework, so do the homework and you will do fine.

Finance is pretty difficult, but as long as you keep up with the homework, you will do fine. Mr. Rahoui is a nice teacher and always available to help.

Book was prety much useless. Slides were essential. Actually pays attention to video streamers asking online questions and participates in the student discussion board.

Textboox was useless as usual. Tests and homework were difficult, luckily he curves. Tips: buy the student solution manual and do all the homework.

Professor Rahoui was one of the best professors I've had at ODU. He hates memorization and wants his students to understand a concept before he moves on. I opened the book maybe 3 times because he reviews the tests thoroughly. Only complaint is that he changes the powerpoints constantly and is slow to grade tests.

He is very passionate about his teaching style and really wants the students to learn rather than memorizing formulas and plugging in the numbers. Great teacher. Economics can be a bit confusing at times but Professor Rahoui made it easy to understand with clear examples. You may not need the textbook, but it helps to reinforce ideas and concepts. This teacher cares more about his students understanding the material than on hitting every chapter in the syllabus. Take class with this man.

Pay attention and do the homework. Learn all the alternative formulas he uses, you will have to be able to find variables that would normally be givens... In other words know your formulas inside and out, front and back. Basic algebra skills are a must. Show an effort and speak up in class, he'll remember you.

Professor Rahoui..Amazing! He truly cares that you understand the material & actually learn. He will make sure that you do BUT you have to meet him half way. Not everyone can get foreign currency or derivatives, but his approach is simple;no-brainer. If you cannot understand it on his terms, you should reconsider changing your major!

Not going to lie, his class was challenging. It was fast-paced and he frowns on taking notes while he talks, so I had a hard time keeping up. That said, he's a great professor. Very knowledgeable and passionate. 10 hw assignments, 3 exams, and a cumulative final. You will have to study. Come to class or you'll fall behind fast! Did not use book.

The course itself is hard. I took this class with another Prof & got a F! Took it with Prof Rahoui and got an A! He's a GREAT teacher, he cares about your learning. Excellent professor. This course is tough. But he stresses understanding over memorization. Sometimes you leave class a little overwhelmed. But come to learn, and you'll do great in his class.

The class in itself is hard. Alternatively, he is a GREAT teacher. He will hammer a topic until you understand it. DONT BE AFRAID TO ASK. If you are not strong in algebra, don't bother. Understanding derivatives (simple rules of them (+,-,x,)) WILL HELP YOU OUT TREMENDOUSLY. You need to study much more than simply the day before the test.

Mr. Rahoui spends a lot of time explaining each concept. He wants you to understand the concept, not just memorize how to do it. He will repeat everything he says at least 3 times. There is no reason to do poorly in his class. If you don't understand something just email him and he will do what he can to help you. He wants you to succeed.

This is a hard class, but Mr. Rahoui tries to make it as easy as he can without babysitting you. His homework is 30% of your grade, so do good on it! You don't need the book. He gives test reviews that help. As I said this is a hard class, and from what I've hard about other professors Mr. Rahoui seems to be the best option.

Best prof I have ever had! I took ECON301 with Coulburn and got D, retook with Rahoui in summer and got an A. He is amazing, he teaches material in the way it is easy to understand. I'm terrible in math but was able to do all problems myself. I wish he taught all of my classes. Connect homework includes extra credit and exams, easy. No book needed.

Professor Rahoui is amazing! Take his class for ECON200S. He wants his students to pass, and more importantly he wants you to actually understand the content. He is flexible with scheduling exams if the class doesn't understand the content. His lectures are VERY HELPFUL, so don't skip class! He even gives in-class homework help.

Professor R is one of the best professor's I have had in my entire collegiate career. He cares about the students, and really wants you to pass. Honestly if you show up to class and do your homework you will pass. GREAT teacher. I couldn't say enough positive things about him.

Dr Rahoui truly cares about his subject, and more than that, he cares about learning. He has, on multiple occasions, stopped lecturing to remind us "hey, you don't need to write this down right now, these are just numbers, I want you to know WHY I'm writing these numbers down, to understand the process, to learn." One of the best professors I've had at ODU. The class is easy. Do the homeworks completely because there are 10 extra credit points built in for each assignment. Only 3 tests and a final, the first 3 tests were online. By the time the final came up I only needed around a 60 for an A. But he lectures on economics and life, and it's inspiring!

Professor Rahoui was great to work with. His lectures were a little long and there's homework every week on Connect but it was completely reasonable. Our class did not get through all the chapters so he adjusted the exam schedules and only tested us on materials we learned. I 100% recommend his class! No ProctorU! Great class and professor!!

Easy class - tests aren't set in stone, homework only opens up when he finishes the chapter in class. Homework is easy and straightforward, but you must do them. Tests are more than likely online, no ProctorU. I don't think we got through all of the material because of all the missed days, so the final ended up being online as well.

I've taken him for ECON 201, ECON 301, now FIN 431. He is one of the best professors on campus. He teaches for you to learn not to give you a grade. These are not easy topics to understand, so go to his office hours and he will explain it until you understand it. Once you understand it he will then teach you how you will use it in the real world

Currently in Rahoui's Econ 201. Took him last semester for Econ 202. Both semesters he let us take our second test online (at home with no proctor). Test questions come from the test bank you can find on blackboard. He has an accent, talks loud, I respect him. Very friendly. Homework is after every chapter. Extra 10 points if turned in on time.

I really liked having Professor Rahoui during the semester. He is fully aware that there are many students of his who are only taking Econ to fulfill an ed requirement. That being said, he tries and makes the subject material much easier to understand and thoroughly wants to make sure everyone comprehends it before moving on. Would take again!

Prof. Rahoui is a great instructor. He utilized all of the time for his classes, and explains everything in a lot of detail, so you can understand. Many of the tests for his classes are not proctored and can be done online.

Really sweet guy. I took him for two semesters of Econ (different courses). Solid professor and really cares about you. For homework he gives +10 if you get a 100% so thats really nice. On the homework there is an area to check your work before you submit so you basically can get a 100% every time. He emails back fast to. Take him. Nuff said.

This is my 3rd class I have taken with him. One of my favorite professors here. Really cares that you learn the information. 3 exams with the last one being cumulative. Assigns homework after each chapter. The class is tougher than the econ classes he teaches.

He is passionate about his work and this makes it easier to want to learn economics. I enjoyed having him this fall. There were two opportunities for EC and I didnt find myself stressing over the material since he encourages us to work together, even online. The only suggestion is to take this course right after calc - similar concepts.

Prof. Rahoui is a great teacher and very funny. His lectures are long, but he really teaches you the material. Did not end up using Proctor U. Class was well laid out and easy to follow. I would definitely recommend him for this online class.

Took Professor Rahoui for a summer class. The class was six weeks long, there's 6 chapters he covers and 6 homework assignments. 2 Tests, 1st one has the first 3 chapters, the second is the last 3 chapters. He's extremely caring. My internet doesn't work the best and he was more then willing to help accommodate me. Take him, you won't regret it!

His approach to lecturing was very different, he's not a fan of taking notes while he is lecturing. It seems like a strange approach but it was really helpful in learning the content better once you got used to it. For participation he is only looking for signs that you are learning the material, not correct answers so don't be afraid to speak up.

I never had to communicate with the professor in this course because the course is so easy! You can move at your own pace and get ahead if you would like. All of the materials are through connect but you do not have to pay for it. This was one of easiest courses I have taken at ODU, highly recommend. No quizzes, just 8 assignments and two tests.

Summer23' 6 HW's (50% of grade) and 2 tests (25% each of grade) all online and not proctored. You can work ahead and get most of the class finished earlier than end date. Attended only the first class to be told he does not grade for attendance. Great professor, easy class, should have gotten an A but forgot to do one HW. Highly recommend professor

Honestly, very nice professor. All he asks is that you show up. With that said, he makes his class too easy to the point where you really don't have to know what you are doing to pass his class. I took his class to learn real estate and sadly, was not challenged enough. Everything is online. Show up. Quizlet HW/Exams. Pass.

Professor Rahoui is a great professor. He is passionate about teaching economics and his methods of teaching reflect it. I learned a lot this semester and I look forward to taking Managerial Econ with him. The material is not easy but if you get the chance, take Econ with this professor!

Professor really cares! Not too many assignments and as long as you try to follow along in class, you'll be fine. Attendance is graded and attending 2 club meetings and event like career fair or resume rush is 5% of grade.

Really cares and helps student problem solve. Likes participation and attendance. Homeworks aren't difficult if you follow along in class and take notes. All my exams (3) were online. 5% of grade is attending event (career fair, etc.) and club participation. DOES NOT let you take notes as he's talking which is understandable but frustrating.
