I would disagree with these opinions. I took Bus Cal in summer and it was a lot of info to ?digest?. He is very nice, knowledgeable and fun. I failed the class due to my lack of time for studying and practicing, but he was great! There were plenty of As in class. He's a very good teacher! I think the people who have made comments on how bad he is are those that were caught cheating. He's knowledgeable, and if you don't understand something he'll help you out. will stay after class if you need more help. he's very fun and a lot of students seem to like him alot. I would def recommend him. He's pretty chill.

He is a very good teacher. If you need help he is always willing to help you. You just have to ask. I'm not sure why the poor ratings, it doesn't seem fair. I'm not doing very good because I'm just not good with math, but he always stops and go's over untill you understand.

he is very clear and you can understandhim great, he takes the time to make sure you understand he really likes class involvement, he doesnt move on till everybody is clear on what he is talking about, before this class i didnt understand, i really recommend him if you have a hard time with math because he takes the time to explain things in detail

Great teacher. I had him for Calculus 1 and compared to the first teacher, he's a genius. Made you understand it after a few examples. If you had a question, he'd help. Gave EC and bonus points!! I would urge everyone to take him

I took precal with him over the summer. You will get frustrated just because of the time (Its Summer), his lecture is simple and understanding. If you have any questions, simply ask him and he will walk you through it. He gives you homework randomly which will help you in class. Write down his notes again for studying,make sure you do review.

Professor Afaneh was fantastic! I took precalculus with him during the winter mini semester. I'm usually terrible at math, but he explained things very well. He does give a lot of homework, but he's very lenient. Definitely take him for precal if you can.

Took him for precal this past semester fall 2010 and hes great! you have 4 test and he drops the lowest grade. YOU MUST TAKE HIM :)

He was awesome! For some students who are not so good at math, he tries to teach so everyone understands. He moves quite quickly thru his lectures and he uses the full class time so sometimes its a lot of info to take in. Let us use notes and book on TESTS! All except the final. Good person overall

Awesome professor. He was really helpful. The final exam was messed up cause someone printed it wrong, but he gave us THREE chances to make it up online....WOW. What other teacher would do that? Willing to repeat until you get it, def take him if you can!!

Easy class! Just do the math lab and listen to the lecture. I got an A in this class. Also, the take home test was a breeze!

Took this teacher on Summer mini-term. Didn't really try to study for class and still wound up with a C. Teacher helpful in algebra, but you better know your trig or you'll be fked. Allowed formula sheet on final exam.

Good teacher I guess. Everything was done on My Math Lab, so we purchased that instead of the book. He moved a little slow for my taste and got a little annoyed when I was working ahead instead of listening to him teach over something I'd finished a week before. If you struggle in math though, he teaches at a slow pace where you're sure to get it.

Mr.Afaneh is one the greatest professors HCC has! He makes you understand the class material in an easy way! If you want a Prof. who cares, teaches good, and tries to make learning fun, then this professor is the best choice!All you have to do is try, be in class & if you don't understand just tell him & he will help(closed mouths don't get feed)!

FAR MOST ONE OF THE GREATEST TEACHERS I HAVE HAS AT HCC. HE IS VERY HELPFUL AND RESPONDS TO ANY EMAILS I'VE E-MAILED, EVEN AFTER CLASS WAS OVER. HE IS AWESOME!

I took his winter mini session, I thought it was going to be really hard, but if your good in math then just ace all the test and quizzes and do your homework before the due date and A is guaranteed. He is also very helpful like a lot of kids had trouble to take the final and we called him up and he helped us really quick and easy.

Professor Afaneh is a great teacher. He goes above and beyond for his students and genuinely cares about them doing well. He has a good sense of humor and thanks to him I was able to pass my worst subject

It was a good class, good teacher very helpful and understanding but I was very disappointed that I failed his class I did all the work missed very few homework assessments, I don't know what happened math is not my strongest subject and I got good grades on my Work...just make sure you are checking on your class grade

Mr. Afaneh is an outstanding professor! I'v taken 0306, 0308, and 0312 (and hopefully 1314) with him. The key to his class( like any other class) is to come everyday, ask questions, do your work and listen. He will help you anyway he can to make you understand by staying after class or coming early to class. Mr.Afaneh is an Awesome professor!

I took Mr Afaneh for mini section. He's awesome. I usually don't write reviews but I had to because he's the best. very helpful, his tests are easy and basically a copy from the review. I recommend him. EASY A

Best teacher in Hcc, which I believe belongs in a university. Very helpful and responds to email quick and tells you everything you need. Easiest A I ever got and I haven't touched math in year and half. Money well spent. You will not regret it.

Great teacher no need to buy a textbook he prints out all the packets. He makes everything simple, I graduated in 2004 and forgot almost every formula took this class twice he was the better teacher.

One of the best teachers I have taken for math, not to mention you can understand him! He is very helpful, and he is one of those professors that like to teach and makes you excited to learn math.

Basic instructor, does everything by the book. If majority of the students are struggling he will find way to give extra credit. Best way to get an A' in this class is read the book, do the homework on MathLab and that will prepare you for the exam. The exams are form the math department which are easier than the Homework.

Just pay attention and be on time so you don't miss anything and you'll pass, do the online homework so when you go to class you understand. It was pretty easy and I'm really bad at math

Took it online, lots of HW but honestly was the best way of learning the material. Tests were easier than the test reviews he gives. If not easier, the same concepts on the review were on the test. Professor will take your effort into consideration and does care to help you.

Professor Afaneh by far has been the BEST professor that I ever had throughout my college years! If you are willing to learn then he can reach and elevate your math skills. I started off in remedial classes with him and when I reached college algebra it was super easy because of him. Ask questions and do the work; he'll make you a math wiz!

Professor Afaneh's MATH 1332 (hybrid) is an easy A , if you pay attention and not procrastinate on the online hw like i did, its worth 15% of your grade. There was only 3 quizzes and the final, very easy if you studied the material before hand. He's a funny guy and very understanding. 9/10.

After taking his class he made me like math as he explains the formulas and concept in a manner that is quick, thorough and straight to the point. He gave us 3 extra credit assignments which pushed my grade up to a B as my final grade and I passed. Just show up, take notes, participate in lecture and do your homework. The entire class liked him.

Took Precalculus online. The textbook is required and all the homework and tests are on MML, so you'll need the access code. I wouldn't recommend online for learning because you teach yourself. But somehow I was given an A, even though my test scores say I should've got a B. Take that how you will.

if you do the homework and discussions with 4 exams you will be fine. he is the easiest prof

Honestly Good Person i missed a test because i was sick as well as had some computer problem's he gave also gave me a chance to redo it and thanks to him i like the subject and lecture

Go to class, pay attention and do the homework for practice and you will pass. professor knows how to teach! 10/10 recommend. Test are a little hard but if you do the homework before the exams you have a high chance at passing.

I was surprised by the disagreement I had with the ratings, I personally really liked Professor Afaneh and would take his Cal1 class if he offered it. Pay attention to his lectures and work a few example problems and you will succeed on his exams. My only gripe was the homework, it tended to go off on a different tangent (get it) than the tests.

If you are okay in math, take him, he is very straightforward and quick. 3 major exams, a final, each less than 33 questions. Questions were multiple choice. No extra credit. Emailed him twice, responded quick. Lot of HW in aleks, but gives us all semester to finish. Simple discussions and quick quizzes on aleks every other week. Need to buy aleks.
