Be ready to fail this class. Worst teacher ever!Graded only a midterm, research paper, a final and class participation. No homework. Very tricky of what to study for the test. Has tricky questions and not helpful. About 90% of the class was miserable and failed. Thake a lesson from the name...Mohammad Ali--You have to fight for your grade.
Only three grades the whole semester makes it hard to know what he expects and also tough to pass that class. His rude and sarcastic comments make it difficult to even like him.

don't listen to these people, hes one of the eastest teachers ever. i had him for a summer class and he will pass you with nothing lower then a c if you show up everyday and ask questions. take him
Does not listen to the students. Gets offended if you ask him questions, especially if he is wrong. Gives you a very very hard time if you question him. Some test questions do not make sense. Grades based only on tests, most of the class failed the tests. On the good side he can be a funny teacher.
Hard Teacher! I passed, but it was the most stressful class I have taken. His tests are impossible. No matter what you do to study, it is nearly impossible to get above a B. He acts like everyone in the class is an economics major.
this is the worst teacher i ever had, i highly dont recomend him, the test are completly off the course which makes it imposible to pass them.
The worst teacher I EVER had! Graded class by a midterm, final and a research paper. Gave scetchy guidence for the tests and the paper. Got marked down when not done the way he wanted. Very hard to know what he expected. Not very cooppertive when asked questions.
Contrary to some of the other postings, Mr.Ali is a great professor who pushes to get the most out of every student. Just show up to class prepared, participate in classroom discussions, and you will be fine. I learned more in this class than any other that I have taken at Macomb. He is very funny to boot!
As much as I hate to say this, I think alot of these ratings are a bit over the top. Mr. Ali is trying to teach a college level course not high school. Though, I found the class difficult, I thought that his policies were pretty fair.
Dr. Ali teaches with a passion for the subject and challenges every member of the class. Those that gave him a low rating obviously didn't put effort into the class. Dr. Ali brings "real" world exerience into the classroom and is willing to share with all those there to "learn" as opposed to take up "space" and get a good grade.
Mr Ali is a teacher who pushes his students to do better. his class isn't easy and i quote, "you must walk on water to get an A in my class" he's a great guy and will always help you if you need it. he loves to teach economics and i learned a great deal from him. just make it to class everyday and participate a LOTTT and he will respect you.
He was great! If you showed up to class and read the chapter and participated in his lectures you will do fine. He requires participation and gives extra points for it at the end of the semester. Very fair teacher. If you don't understand something he will help you. All the other posts bashing him are the spoiled brats who are only enrolled at maco
A loudmouth who tries to scare his students...says he doesn't want you to smile. He is pompous and not familiar enough with American culture to be effective..
Many students were intimidated after the 1st class. He really isn't a bad guy. If you participate, he likes you a lot. He's got a great sense of humor. Grades based off tests, but he prepares you enough you should know what to study. Website for the book helps a ton too. Attendance is a must. He is a very man smart on this subject.
I must disagree with a lot of the negative comments. This was not an easy subject for me, but I passed by asking for help. Prof. Ali has a good sense of humor, but it appears to go over the heads of some. He can put people on the spot, but we're not in kindergarden. "I don't understand this" seems to work fine. Smart man, good teacher.
He is very smart and know his stuff. The first day he tries to scare you, but after awhile is nice and helpful. You do actually have to read the chapters and he makes you answer questions. His notes are great and really helps you with the tests.
Float like a butterfly sting like a bee! It's Mohammad Ali! LOl, no he's a great teacher who you can really learn from if you pay attention in his class and participate!
hes a strait shooting teacher, a little difficult to understand him. and if you dont study or participate he will lay into you about it. but overall good teach and funny
Overall, the class was fairly decent. I would have to say that making the final worth 45% of your final grade is ridiculous...I mean you could ace all the first 3 tests and only get a D if u failed the last one...kind of dumb IMO. It puts a lot of pressure on a student for that final. I think he cares a lot and is a good teacher otherwise...
Professor Ali is a great teacher. I highly recommend him to students that need this course to further there education. He is very helpful to students and makes each lecture very clear. Exams are very important in this class also the attendance. If i were taking this class again i would definitely take Prof. Ali!!!! =)
this teacher is really something. he is constantly claiming to be 'the greatest' and will always use goofy raps to intimidate his students.
I thought Professor Ali was a great teacher. He has alot of experience & knows what he's talking about. If you miss a class lecture, I suggest you bum the notes off a classmate - you'll need them. I ended up w/a B in this class - & I suppose that to be my own fault cuz I missed 2 classes & never got those notes. But He's an awesome teacher. really.
honestly i liked mr.ali he is very nice if you participate and know the book. if you read the book and do the work book than its sooo easy to get an A
His tests were hard, but on the first three there always seemed to be a pattern. Sometimes hard to ask a straight question and get an answer. The final is 50 percent of your grade which I did not find fair. He picks out a few students that he then always calls on to answer the questions, leaving the rest of us sometimes confused.
This class was very easy, except the final. All you had to do was ask questions. There were no "chosen students" that he picked to ask on. If students didn't get help or ask questions that was their own fault. He was a great teacher. He was very fair, and simply put it on you to read and ask questions.
Great teacher, really knows what hes talking about. He will try to scare you the first couple days, but that's just to get kids to study. His tests are very easy. You would have to TRY to fail. It's just like any other class, show up take notes. Nice guy, you could learn something from him. Funny too!
I learned a lot from this class and NOT because of the teacher. Textbook by Slavin is excellent. Ali frequently ridicules students, hates to be asked questions, and makes jokes that some find offensive. Exams are worth 10%, 15%, 25%, and 50% of your grade (in that order) - half your grade is the final. Attendance = extra credit. Good luck.
The greatest person i have ever met in my life.
Mr. Ali is hard on his students because he requires excellence. Reading each chapter prior to class is a MUST. If a student does the questions in the book and askes good questions, you will do well. Over all, he's a good guy.
Mr. Ali was a wonderful teacher! He really is the nicest guy ever. He finds new ways to get the material through you. His tests are very hard though and thats the only credit you have in that class. Overall though he's an awesome guy and be respectful and read and make sure to read the chapters and do the workbook and you'll be good in his eyes!
Good teacher. Has a little bit of an accent which is hard to get used to. Extremely funny and tries to make it intersting. Do not question him about his tests because he will take it offensively and dislike you for the rest of the semester. He uses multiple examples which make material easier to understand. Tests are very hard.
My last day before I dropped he literally sat there ridculing 2 students for doing poorly on their last tests. His tests are VERY hard and his accent makes his lectures difficult to follow. A very unpleasant man who will call you out in class and when you say you don't know the answer to his question he will instantly dislike you.
Very well educated, so he knows the material he is teaching. The people who complain about this professor are the very ignorant students who are in school with no direction or drive. The class is enjoyable and easy is you simply read the book and listen during lecture.
Very intelligent and you can learn a lot from him, but he is very biased and picks favorites. He gives out A's if he likes you, and if he doesn't then you might as well drop because he WILL do everything to fail you. He even said it. At the end of the semester about 15 people dropped because he ridiculed them so much.
I am a serious student with a grade pt. average of 3.8. Ali was very smart and very informative. He was also rude arrogant, and insulting, and sometimes offensive toward students he disliked. Tests 8 to 9 pages long, and were extremely difficult. Studied 23 hours for 2nd exam and only got a 65. I knew information very well, tests worded horribly.
He requires respect but only gives it to a small percentage of the class. He is VERY smart and very informative, but tests seem designed for people to fail. I learned SO much and my grade did not reflect it. (C). I got a 98% and 96% in mmy 2 other classes. DROP him immediately if your gut tells you to. Wish I had. READ entire chapter ahead of clas
Really bad teacher, the class is extremely difficult and he is extremely disrespectful to students. AVOID!
Professor Ali is very well educated professor. This professor makes the concept of economics very easy to understand. His examinations are created from the textbook. Overall a great professor, and it was an honor to attend his class. I highly recommend this professor!
He comes off as quite the prick at times, but he is extremely knowledgable. Attendance is required. Really though if you show up to class than you'll get at least a B. People who are giving really bad reviews probably didn't read the chapters or show up to class
Mr. Ali is a great teacher if you participate in class, read the book and do the workbook you are guaranteed at least a B. He try's to scare students by acting though but he is really nice. I only found the last test really hard the other were easy. I loved the coins he showed us they were really old. I would definitively recommend Mr. Ali.
One of the most intelligent professors that i have ever had. Demands respect, but returns it. Pay attention, attend class, and take notes. He goes over everything that you need to know. If you fail the test, it is your fault. His favorites are the ones who try and participate. He is completely fair. Don't pay attention to the bad comments.
Professor Ali knows his stuff and he will teach it to you stright up you may think he is kind of a jerk in the beginning but he isnt you give him respect he'll give it right back. his test are tough but study and you should do fine he goes over everything that will be on tests i recommend him he can be pretty funny at times as well

He comes off as a jerk but he does really know what he's talking about. His class was very easy. The tests are pretty easy as well, I don't know why people are saying they're hard. Show up to class and you'll probably get B at least. He does berate students though lol, which is funny even if your the butt of the joke. I'd recommend him to anyone
Terrible class. should have dropped it right from the start. he is very rude and tests are very hard. doesn't help you out at all and doesn't want to help you with your grade. Terrible
It is well that some comment on Prof. Ali and the difficulty of the class. Economics is not for the faint of heart, and some fall by the wayside for either lack of effort or intelligence. With a sound mind, however, the teaching style, peppered with humor and devotion to material, is exceedingly effective. This professor is a diamond in the rough.
Honestly hands down the best teacher ever. He comes off as this better then you type of guy(which he is) but he is so nice and so understanding and wants to help you out and pass his class if you show the effort and put in the work. Its not easy. Need to put alot of time into Economics if you don't really understand. Overall though, he is awesome!
I remember one the first days of class. I had innocently taken a sip of Gatorade when Ali starts yelling "SIR, YOU ARE BREAKING THE RULES! WHY YOU KIDS ALWAYS BREAK A THE RULES IN MY CLASS?" Ali can be a real riot, like when he says "YES! YES! VERY GOOD SIR! YOU HAVE READ THE CHAPTER!" or "NO! NO SIR! YOU HAVE NOT READ THE CHAPTER!" Mr. Ali is gr8!
I still remember what Prof. Ali said in my first class-"read your chapters."This is exactly helpful!I followed his advice and I've been keeping the habit of reading chapters in all of my classes and I got good grades.Plus,Mr. Ali's presentation is as clear as crystal. He lists guidelines and key points for chapters.I like his teaching method.

He is a good treacher but you have to do your work if you dont he will point it out. He wants the students to do well. Make sure to do the homework and have the whole chapter read before class. Helpful hint his test ussually have a pattern.
Professor Ali is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He's very wise and has a great sense of humor. Don't listen to any of the negative comments...those are always from the non-serious students who end up dropping. If you read the chapter & do the workbook before class, and then participate in class, you will have a great experience like I did.
Ali is by far the best teacher I've ever had. Everything he lectures on is 100% relevant to the class, and his exam reviews are spot on. This is a tough class, You will NOT pass if you don't read every assigned chapter and do the workbook. He gives you back what you put in. Read, do the work, take notes, participate, and study and you'll get an A.
good teacher but has said countless times that communism is great thing and that the united states should be a socialist or communist state
great professor enjoyed class explains everything crystal clear. if you study for exams and show up and take notes you will do well. he wants to see students succeed! !!
Professor ali is truly one of the best teachers at Macomb and is also one of the most intelligent. He is very passionate with his teaching and he truly wants you to succeed, but you have to give your all and he will help you throughout the way just do your workbook and read the chapters. Professor ali continues to raise the standard of education.
Mr.Ali is a great professor. He doesn't give out grades, you earn them! In other words, don't expect to blow off his class and get a good grade. He wants to see his students learn and excel in economics. If he sees that you are doing your workbook and trying hard, he will be there to help you out. Make him and yourself happy by studying!
one of the best professors i have ever had
Mr Ali was the best professor I had at Macomb. Read the book and you will be ahead of the game.
Professor Ali made economics enjoyable, he took a relatively dry subject and made it applicable to real life. I enjoyed his class and have recommended him to friends. Always read before the class and do the work book(: Awesome professor.
A Excellent professor, very clear from the begining that grades are earned not given. Reading the book and doing the workbook will help you understand and retain the information which he goes over in class in detail. Attendance is a must since every chapter is tied in with the next. He is very dedicated to his students learning not simply passing.
Professor Ali one of the greatest Professors I ever had,I was so lucky to have him,his knowledge and informations makes the class very easy. Just red the book and he will make it very clear for you. I advice every students to take him. and they will appreciate the class and love it. he make the class more enjoyable. and I loved it.
Professor Ali is one of those unique teachers you're fortunate enough to have throughout your college career. He not only teaches you the subject in a clear and concise manner but he applies it to daily life and the world around you so you can see how much it impacts you and truly take something away from the class.
Professor Ali doesn't just go over the material, he reaches out to each student to make sure they're questions are answered. His knowledge in the subject matter is second to none. It is a hard classify do not show up and look over the material. If you are a student taking a subject to actually learn, this is the teacher you're looking for. The best
Professor Ali is an excellent instructor and he offers everything you need to succeed in his class. Respect given is returned. He is more than willing to assist any student who seeks help. My experience with him taught me plenty valuable economic concepts that I will carry along with me for years to come.
This professor thinks he knows everything. Every single one of my tests were graded wrong. When I went to him about the issue he got offended and it took me forever to bring him back to reality. Because of his screw-ups I now have a C on my transcript. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!
Professor Ali is a really great teacher! he is very knowledgeable and knows what he is talking about. His class however is not for people who like to just skate by. You have to read your chapters and pay attention in class. Ali is hilarious!he makes the class fun. DONT be late to his class, he will call you out. I recommend him to anyone!
Professor Ali is a very smart man and gives excellent notes. But, he gives pop quizzes and very difficult tests so your grade must be earned by reading the material. Attendance and class participation are mandatory in his class, and he hates when students are late. Prof Ali will help you learn economics well, but not without hard work.
This professor is by far one of my favorites so far! He is very knowledgeable about Economics and takes interest in the subject. The class is filled with a bunch of information and he makes it easy to understand. Professor Ali really helps his students and wants them to succeed. He also has a great sense of humor! If you need economics TAKE HIM!
Ali is a very good instructor. His exams are hard but he does give reviews. Don't be late, don't use your phone, speak up in class, and you'll have a good experience. In other words, don't be an idiot and you'll enjoy the class. He says some pretty funny stuff too.
Professor Ali is a great instructor, he is very knowledgable. All of Professor Ali's presentations are very clear, and helpful in gaining an understanding of the subject. He is an excellent teacher who is dedicated to making sure students do well. I would recommend this this teacher to anyone taking an economics class.
Professor Ali was such a positive influence. I will miss our chats after class. His knowledge and presentation in class was excellent! He goes above and beyond making sure his students understand the material, and they succeed. Read the chapters, take notes during his lectures, laugh at his jokes, and you'll have no you'll pass the class easily.
Professor Ali was very helpful with me towards my economic studies. This is my second time taking this course, but Professor Ali's humurous personality and interest of wanting to see his students succeed, influenced and encouraged me to study more and become more active in class. Overall he is one of the best professor's Macomb as to offer.
Professor Ali is a great professor and teacher. His lectures are long but he makes sure you know the content and encourages student participation. I was hoping he taught Econ 1170, but not this semester. I would definately take him again if given the chance.
Best professor I have ever had. His lectures are clear and engaging, and he really wants his students to do well. This is not an easy class. You have to put in the effort, study, and pay attention in class. If you do I guarantee this will be one of the best classes you ever take
This is by far the smartest professor i have ever seen! Very helpful and knows what he is talking about. Must participate in class discussions! This professor has an amazing heart and hees willing to pass you if you want to learn!
He sometimes got terms mixed up. The tests are poorly worded, and the reviews aren't helpful at all. It also seems like he didn't enjoyed teaching at all.
Don't take this class if you just want to blow it off and not study. Attendance is mandatory and do well on your quizzes because 99% of the time those same ?s will be on the actual test. Professor Ali is tough but still is willing to help you out if you are having trouble. Always participate and pay attention to details in each subject matter.
He was a great professor!! If you show him that you want to learn economics, he will reward you with a good grade. Also make sure you are in class on time. If you are not on time, it will be the most awkward moment of your life.
He is really good professor. He is one of the best professor, i met in my life.Take his classes, you gonna be in goods hands
He's tough, but he is hilarious and he does make the class enjoyable. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone though, because he is sometimes difficult to understand. The concepts he talks about aren't necessarily the clearest. I depended on the book and my past knowledge of economics to pass the class. His tests are very difficult.
This is a great class with a very informed professor who is very passionate about what he teaches. He makes class enjoyable and is quite humerus. Very authoritative and always there to help. I definitely recommend this class for people who are passionate in businesses as he gives you real world examples that keep class interesting and engaging!
Very tough class but worth going in every time. He'll help you out if you ask but if you don't put in the effort don't expect to pass. He's fair but doesn't accept laziness. Very sweet
Good instructor, good energy during lectures, encourages participation, no weekly assignments just a few quizs and three tests, overall a good experience and I would take him again
His tests are very hard, he gives study guides and half the stuff on the test isn't even on the study guide. He encourages participation and can be funny at times. He makes you work for your grade so if your up for a challenge take this class. Not much extra work, just reading. Only 5 quizzes and 3 tests count toward your grade. Do the extra credit
Professor Ali is amazing. He explains the Topics very clearly, he answers any questions that you might not understand. the class is easy if you read the chapters before the lectures and take good notes.
his economic class was by far the hardest class I've taken. And I'm really good at social studies and stuff like that. The tests are tough, however he is a great person and I learned a lot of life lessons from him. He is by far one of the kindest individuals ive met and very funny.
Professor Ali goes over each chapter and give specific notes to outline each chapter. He explains the difficult parts and basically gives you the answers if you are paying attention. Read each chapter before class and take good notes and you can pass easy. Being late is his pet peeve so be on time.
Professor Ali is an excellent professor! He encourages participation and does not like when people show up late. He gives very detailed lectures. His tests are tough, but if you take notes they shouldn't be too bad. There are only 3 tests, so you have to do well on them. As long as you show up and are involved, you should be fine.
Mr. Ali is a very reasonable guy. He explains things very clearly and he will repeat it if necessary. He also very personable.
Professor Ali loves to joke around with students. He's willing to work with the students. He's very clear and if you need help, you can always ask questions. Coming to class is mandatory, but its worth it. If you try in the class and participate, you'll for sure pass. He offers extra credit. Very sweet guy. Wish i could take more classes with him!
Absolutely amazing professor!! I have never had such an amazing professor as Professor Ali. He was always there to help and always gave study tips and tips for how to pass the class! Absolutely loved this professor, and would deff recommend him to anyone who has to take econ! Amazing lectures and encourages participation to help understand
He jokes around with the students, but doesn't tolerate tardiness. Don't be late. Participation is virtually mandatory to get a good grade. He'd rather you answer wrong, than not participate. You need to read the book, it's necessary to do well and participate. Only 3 tests and 4 quizzes, no homework. It's a difficult class, so pay attention.
Professor Ali is the best professor ever. He goes over each chapter, and he makes the notes very easy so you can remember them quickly. Participation and attendance matter the most. If you attend his lectures, you don't have to study a lot at home. No homework. You just have to read every chapter before class.
I'm now a student at Walsh College, but I had Professor Ali 2 years ago, I believe, for Macroeconomics. He gave me an excellent economics foundation that has helped me in my microeconomics and now finance classes. He will challenge you, but it is to your benefit to take him because it will help you when you get into more advanced classes.
Professor Ali is a very enthusiastic and proficient man. He clearly states the demographics of his class promptly on the first day. He approaches the lectures humorously greatly focusing on cognitive understanding of material. For the committed acedamic individual this class is fantastic. There isn't a professor that recognizes hard work better.
I took professor Ali for Macro and again for Micro. He is a great professor that makes his expectations very clear. He knows his stuff and likes when you participate, even if you are not always correct. Would recommend taking this professor for Econ!
Professor Ali is definitely the professor you want for Macro Economics. You should definitely read the chapter before getting to class every time, and never ever be late. Show him respect and he will show you respect. He's actually a great and funny guy and genuinely cares about all of his students. If you want an A work for it! Common sense right?
I took Professor Ali for macroeconomics, and I would highly recommend that you take him. He is very informative and knowledgeable about the subject, and is willing to answer any questions about it, so never be afraid to ask. And as a side note, don't be late to class.
Professor Ali is an amazing professor and person. He's very intelligent and knowledgeable on the subject matter. I chose him for both macro and micro economics. Reading is 100% necessary. He loves participation and when students show interest in the class. He puts on a tough shell, but he genuinely cares for his students and wants them to succeed.
This professor if very clear on what is needed to pass the course. He cares for his students very much and wants them to succeed. He helped me greatly when I was at my lowest point in the class and helped me through the rest of the semester. If you need help talk to him. He is very understanding and willing to work with you. Highly recommended.
Professor Ali has a teaching style that is old school. Show up on time, participate, work hard, participate, challenge yourself, and did I mention participate. I walked into Economics clueless and left with a wealth of knowledge. He is extremely helpful and is always willing to work with you. He truly wants his students to learn. Highly recommend!
Take the class seriously and you won't have any problems. Study for the test and you'll earn your grade, don't and it will show.
Professor Ali is a good teacher. If you put forth the effort he will notice you and help you succeed. I recommend him to all who are focused students and are willing to learn.
Professor Ali is amazing!! If you read the chapter and then answer questions in class and show interest then he will work his very hardest to get you an A. He shows genuine interest in his students: show him that you are interested in his class!! He is a fantastic teacher (Keynesian Economist, experience in the field) and a great person.
Teacher does excellent job of explaining his material. reading is very important to pass the class. participate in class and answer questions and he will like you.
This is my second year at Macomb and I can say that, by far, this professor has taught me the most. He actually makes sure you get the material, and the notes that he gives you are GOLD! If you participate then he will challenge you and help you improve. I probably would not have passed the class if he was not my teacher. I would HIGHLY recommend!
The worst professor I've had here. I am an A student. Test questions are almost impossible to understand I don't care how much you read or attend class. If he decides he doesn't like you he will bury you. I gave him a poor survey and because he recognized my handwriting he killed me for the rest of the semester. He would not even speak to me after
While Prof. Ali was a great teacher, he was undoubtedly a massive jerk. You won't find a much better Economics professor at Macomb, but get ready to hear how much of a pathetic loser you are if you're tardy more than a few times.
This class was very tough for me, but well worth the work since I learned so much. If you are willing to read everyday before class and participate, you will enjoy this class very much. Participation is key.
I would for sure recommend this class to anyone who really wants to grasp the concept of economics. Professor Ali was quite the character, and very dedicated to the class. Make sure you read the chapters before class because that is what the lecture is solely based on. He is a very fair grader, and really cares about the feedback of students. 10/10
Professor Ali's notes come straight from the book, though he puts them into words that are much easier to understand. He expects his students to understand what is taught, and to be able to make connections between what we've learned. More often than not, Professor Ali likes to lecture whilst his students write notes.
Professor Ali is a true gem. He demands respect and he earns your respect. Take the class seriously and participate and you'll do great. He doesn't give out homework, but he expects you to read the chapters and understand what it is he is teaching. Tons of extra credit opportunities are available for the students who show effort. Great teacher. :-)
Professor Ali is a phenomenal professor. By no means is his class easy, he will push you to your breaking point and then some. He expects you to participate and show respect. He also gives you a lot of extra credit opportunities. If you are looking for an easy A do not take this professor, if you are looking to learn a lot take this professor.
Prof Ali is awesome. He's funny and relates the topics to current events to help you understand what it is you're learning. If you skip alot or show up late, don't bother showing up at all. I changed my following semester around just to take another class of his.
Absolutely a fantastic teacher. Very vocab heavy so be ready to read a lot, but no need for note taking at home. Very strict on attendance but understanding if you're a student with children. Make an attempt to participate in class and he will take a liking to you. 10 pop quizzes, but he tends to give a heads up beforehand. 10./10 would take again
Wonderful professor, took him for both 1160&70, very caring. Every class is a lecture or group work. Takes his time in class explaining the material; ask & he'll repeat anything. Participation & attendance are crucial. Get on his good side & it will affect your grade in a good way. Grade is based on tests & popquizzes w/ extra credit opportunities.
Professor Ali is a solid choice for a professor. He doesnt tolerate phones, or tardiness. I was singled out for being late by 3 minutes on the first day. He wants his students to pass. He makes economics pretty interesting. Would take him again.
Read each chapter and know the definitions. dont skip any classes or your grade will drop big time. his reviews are not what the test will be on, the first review was good and gave me a good idea of the test, but the 2nd test review had nothing to do with the 2nd test, i assume the third will be the same so im studying each chapter for the final .
Probably the greatest professor you'll ever have. His teaching skills are phenomenal. He is really funny and will try to befriend you, however, you must obey basic classroom rules. If you answer a question wrong in class, he'll tell you there is no wrong answer and will try to help you understand the concepts. Professor Ali really made college fun.
Prof Ali has a wonderful personality, a huge heart, and he was a pleasure to be in class with. But, in my opinion, his teaching methods were ineffective and his basis for grading is strange and poor. Each class there would be 10 vocal terms we would go over and leave after 90 mins. multiple pop quiz's and 2 tests which are vastly diff from reviews.
He gives clear rules to follow on the first day of his class. If you think you can manage to not miss a class, read a chapter for each class period, and participate then I would suggest taking his class. He is a great guy and if you show him respect he will show it in return. Take good notes and put in the effort and you will get the best results.
I thought he was a great teacher. I would recommend not taking his class if you don't plan on working hard and giving him respect. If you respect him the class will be better and more enjoyable overall. The class involves a lot of notes so it is very important you pay attention and read the chapters before class.
professor ali was my favorite professor so far at macomb he is a really funny teacher and explains really in depth great professor i highly recommend
I had professor Ali Monday-Wednesday at 10 am, I sat front row and the professor called me Netflix, Professor Alis lectures were very clear and he answered all students questions with great detail, I would recommend Mr Ali to anyone looking for a great economics teacher

Professor Ali is one of the best professors I have had at MCC. Intimidating at first, but his humor grows on you. He sets out to give the best understanding of economic terms and looks out for his students. As long as you put forth effort and respect, youll do great in his course.
Professor Ali has been one of the best professors I have gotten at MCC. I did not do very good in economics in high school, but Prof. Ali made economics seem like a easy concept. His personality is one of a kind, and he cares a lot about his students. I wish every professor was just like him.
I had Professor Ali Monday and Wednesday from 10-11: 25 am and let me just say I would highly recommend taking his class again. I learned a lot regarding the subject and his lectures were great, he provided great examples. I told him I was majoring in Business Administration at Wayne State and he gave me some great advice. He truly cares how you do
Professor Ali is a great professor. He really cares about his students as tough as he is. He really pushes you to participate and do your best. His lectures really are helpful and easy to understand. The tests are a little difficult and you have to really work for the grade you want. However, overall the class is great!
Attendance is vital for your success in this class. its important to read the chapter before coming to class. Professor Ali is great at making concepts easy to understand.
Professor Ali is an exceptional professor and a very intelligent man. In the beginning i was a bit intimidated by his blunt nature, but i could tell instantly that i was dealing with a wise professional. His economics classes are extremely informative and I plan on taking more of them in the future. This is a man who truly cares about education.
At first, I was worried the class was going to be rough and professor Ali made it clear to not miss class and I later found out why. He thoroughly teaches the chapter by making definitions clear with examples that will stick with you. Prepare for pop quizzes! There not so bad. I highly recommend professor Ali if you want to succeed and learn!
It was an honer to take this class with professor Ali. I recommend him because he is awesome. If you do those four things, it is gaurinteed that you get your A: 1- Have your book on day one. 2- read each chapter before you come to the class. 3- take notes but dont lean just on them. 4- SHOW respect and partispaite.
Prof. Ali is a great teacher. He really knows Economics and you can tell he has put a lot of work into preparing for the classes he teaches. If you take one of his classes, study, read your book and take notes in class.
Professor Ali was one of the best professors I have had at MCC. He is a very caring man and I am thankful for the help that he gave me to succeed in his class. If you meet him halfway he will do the same and you will be just fine. If you are not willing to participate and come to class, you should not take his class. He is a great professor.
Easy to get along with and get a good grade if you pay attention, read, and participate. Lets you ask as many questions and helps break material down.
Professor Ali was one of the best professors I had at Macomb. His class is definitely no blow off. Economics can be a challenging subject, so make sure to read every chapter before class to get a good understanding of his upcoming lectures. As long as you read, PARTICIPATE, and attend class regularly, you should have no issues taking this class.
Greatest professor youll ever take. Mr. Ali is very passionate about his students and Economics as well. He provides great examples that help you understand the material. As long as you show him respect and show up to class on time, he will meet you half way and pass you. I recommend him to everyone!
Professor Ali is a highly respectable professor. He uses humor to make his lectures more interesting and makes an active effort to make sure everyone understands. There are 5 pop quizzes in his class and 3 tests, there is no homework. If you want to pass you should attend class and read the book before coming into lecture. He is one of the best.
Great professor. Great lectures, and a great guy. Make sure you have textbook first day and DO NOT be late. If you participate and show up on time, he loves you. He also loves ECM kids. Clear grading, very thorough lectures.
One of my favorite professors. He truly cares about each student and wants everyone to learn. He makes connections with students. Want to take him again. There will be pop quizzes.
I loved Professor Ali. He is the best professor to choose if you need an economic class. He even let you do UNLIMITED extra credit. NO REASON for you not to pass this class
Professor Ali was an awesome professor, he helped me with any questions that I had. Very good lectures. Be aware that you need to study for this class, if you don't you will not pass. Reading the chapters are essential. Even though the class is hard I think that I came out knowing more about economics than I did before.
By far one of the best professors out there. Professor Ali has a great sense of humor that he adds to his lectures. I don't think there was a single class that I went to that I didn't laugh in. His class is very challenging but with Professor Ali's lectures and advice, you can definitely pass the class.
Professor Ali is the most caring and genuine professor ive ever had. Always makes sure his students are prepared and takes time to listen if youre struggling. Amazing professor.
This professor is by far one of the best at this school. He takes time individually with his students and is very intentive and caring with his students. His jokes are hilarious and always made the class and myself laugh every day in lecture. He taught the subject matter extremely well, but you need to read from the book to fully grasp the lessons.
terrible, I took this class, I read the book. he made me hate coming to class, made me cry for hours straight because he was so confusing. liked only some students, made weird comments, don't think this is one bad apple review, I showed up to class on time; everytime there was class. if you get him, SWITCH! I wish I did
Like many of you reading this I came in here early this year to see how this professor was rated so I had an understanding of his style. However, dont be fooled. He will tell you every day that you are nothing. He will say that you make him want to drown in a tub. If you get him drop the class, trust me itll be the best choice you have.
Great teacher but he uses wormhusk with bottom tree arc strider. Thats a book
Professor Ali is the by far the best teacher at Macomb. His lectures are very clear and he always makes you laugh every time. He cares about all his students and if you don't understand something clearly, he will make sure you understand it. There is no homework that is due. He teaches Economics very well. I would highly recommend him.
Professor Ali is by far the best business related professor Ive had at macomb. After taking macro econ with another professor I was confused and didnt understand Econ very much but professor Ali took the time to thoroughly explain every concept. Hes the only prof that TRULY cares about his students. Not an easy class but he makes it enjoyable
Very wonderful professor, encourages participation and gives very lively and exciting lectures. This is no blowoff class as you do have to show up every class and read the chapters before hand. Overall excellent teacher with a great attitude
My name is Marvin Haydaw, I took Micro and Macro Economics with Professor Ali. He genuinely cares about you, hes very understanding of economics, If you have a question about something hes teaching, ask him he will take as much time as needed to help you understand. Bottom point is Professor Ali is the best Professor in Macomb.
Prof Ali is a good teacher just his 2 tests the whole semester are really hard. He makes sure you understand the material before moving on. He is a good choice but he makes you work for your grade.
Professor Ali is the absolute best. He has experience in the field both outside and inside of teaching. If you show up, read the book, and participate youll do just fine. Best professor Ive had at MCC.
Professor Ali is by far my favorite professor Ive taken at MCC. As long as you read the book, come to class and participate youll do great. He offers easy extra credit and there is only 2 exams. He also does pop quizzes which are very short and simple. I knew nothing before his class and he helped me gain so much knowledge.
Ali is by far the best professor I have ever had. He genuinely cares about his students and how they do in the course. TAKE ALI YOU WONT REGRET IT!
Great instructor. I would definitely take again.
