his exam questions comes from the homework... 89% or higher can get you an A
awsome teacher.....

Recommended! (took him 3yrs ago) the key to success is do the all the assigned h.w. but also review them during exams, don't do the same mistake I did which is feeling confident and not reviewing the h.w. thinking that I will remember every problems. Also I recommend Professor WATSON.
excellent
Easy-if you show up to class, follow his lectures. Exams are straight from the assigned hw. No quizzes. 4 exams, 1 final. If you don't understand something just ask him and he will explain again. disencourage students that don't show up or didn't pass first or 2nd exams; adviced them to drop the course. HE'S EASY, TAKE HIM!
hella easy class
HE HAS THE WORST PERSONALITY BUT THE BEST TEACHING SKILLS
DISREGARD THE LAST COMMENT I WAS CONFUSING HIM FOR SOMEONE ELSE, BUT THIS PROFESSOR IS GREAT IN EVERY SENSE
I had the hardest time understanding his way of teaching... he just jumped from point A to point C and expected us to understand the problem...he is intimidating.
Not a bad teacher overall, he moves fast and doesn't really stop for questions. All homework is collected the day of the exam, so don't fall behind.
if you are reasonably good at math and you study hard and show him you care a little...a B is possible and thats what i got. a C shouldnt be hard unless you really just dont care.
First off, funny guy. Always in a good mood & cracks subtle jokes. Grades VERY hard on tests (picky). Helps you out when you need it... if you come to class & do the homework, it's not that difficult. Favorite teacher I had last semester. Take his class, it's a good time & his accent comes out randomly, it's pretty fun :)
I'm horrible at math but I managed to pass his class. He is funny and he is clear. He doesnt check homework and he drops the lowest test grade. If you do good on the final he basically gives you a passing grade.
He has his own way of teaching and doesn't really follows the book. He knows what he is doing. The best thing about him is that he does not assume that students know everything AHEAD of time like other Math Teachers
Best teacher ever. Very clear, and straightforward. All his exams are from the homework. What more do you want?
I took him at LACC in the summer and always did my HW and studdied the night before the exam and still got an A...this professor exam is like the HW so as long as you make sure you understand all the HW you will get an A. He also explain things well and is such a good professor period!
not a good teacher, will not explain hard topics, yells at students for asking questions, he's rude and intimidating. WOULD NEVER TAKE HIM AGAIN!!
One of the best math profs. on campus
BEST MATH PROF! Funny, cool guy, sly jokes. His tests are basically homework questions. Do the hw, you'll get a good grade. The final is cumulative, but all the questions are directly from the previous 4 tests (which you have and he goes over). Attendance is mandatory. Doesn't really care for grades, he REALLY just wants you to learn.
as long as you practice the problems in the notes and homework, the test should be really easy.
Awesome teacher, final was a piece of cake, i feel like i really learned from him. compared to my math teacher now, he was the best.
great teacher. if you're good at math you'll do good in his class, he does require prior knowledge to pre calc and such, but he'll go over it if you don't. tests are easy, group activities are extremely helpful, he grades on improvement. i passed with an A.
Great Math teacher. Is very clear and helpful. Do the homework and make sure you understand them. Test questions are directly from homework.
This teacher is super confident! He can teach without following any script. He pushes students hard! He has great sense of humor and tons of knowledge. It is pleasure to be in his class. He seems to enjoy teaching very much! A+++++ highly recommended!
not very helpful. makes you feel dumb if you dont know how to do a problem
HE'S A GOOD PROFESSOR...I RECOMMEND HIM!!!! HE GOES REALLY FAST SO KEEP UP. HIS TESTS ARE REALLY EASY AND THE PROBLEMS ARE TAKEN FROM THE HW SO DO UR HW!! KINDA FUNNY TOO :D
good teacher, explains well. he grades hw at the end of semster by how much u did, i did most of ALL my hw and he gave me 30/50! weak. MUST ATTEND ALL CLASSES. i missed a week kuz i was sick and he was gon giv me 0/50 for attendence (ended up giving me 20/50 after i talked 2 him)! DO HW! ALL test based on hw. final is all previous test questions.
He's a really good teacher, quite funny too. He makes the subject bearable and relatively easy to pass. I can't stress this enough but DO YOUR HOMEWORK and have good attendance. He does this thing where if you have a 90% grade average or better on 3/4 exams you are exempted from taking the final. Make sure to keep up with the pace.
terrible. the worst math teacher i've ever had. you cant understand his english. doesnt explain well, comes late to class. annoyinguuuuh.
Excellent professor for Finite Math. Makes material easy in class than book. Not an easy grader, but very helpful..you can't miss class though. Drops 1 exam. Also, he bosts up your grade if he knew you had worked hard. I droped this class from some other professor, ended up getting a B+ easily in his class.Totally recommend..
I give A+++ to this teacher.I wish most of the Math teachers are like him. who make Math understandable and fun :)
He is a well-educated professor that makes math fun, because of his jokes . He gives the effort to help students out!!! In addition the assignments are due at the end of the semester and tests are exactly like final reviews. BY FAR the most understanding professor!
This is class is so interesting. I love this guy I thought he is sexy haha. He mkes me want to show up to class. He might not be the greatest articulator but he knows his subject and very helpful as well. Just do your hw as a student and practise the HW and you will be fine.
I took online stats and it was a complete nightmare. We spend hours and hours doing online homework/quizzes, but they have NOTHING to do with the tests. His grading strategy makes for a way to bring it back, but he misses one important point of teaching an online class. . . two hours is not enough time to teach everything, that's what he does.
This is not an easy class, but he does make it interesting. Hes true to his word on replacing your final grade with what you receive on your final. So study for his midterms, he tells you everything thats on it. It wasnt that bad at the end of the day.
He is the best math teacher in math department. You can easily get an A in that class if you understand all the homework assignments since it's what comes out on the test.
Not the best, not the worst. He is a cool guy but i felt like he expects you to know everything. He doesnt really teach, he just reviews which is not helpful for me. I need alot of instruction. If you are good at math, take it because it can be easy. if you suck i would find a different prof.
Very intelligent professor. Work can seem hard at times, but the book definitely helps. Keep up with the lectures and do the homework and seriously, you will get an A. He also drops your lowest test grade, which helped my grade A LOT. Overall, I'd recommend him. Oh and laugh at his jokes, it puts him in a good mood.
Good professor but crazy at times. Homework is due at the end of the semester and during class he mostly goes over problems from the book that resemble the homework. He provides study guides for his exams and yes attendance is mandatory but he is a good Professor.
He's a nice guy most of the time. Other times he's nuts and you can tell he hates our generation. He complains about how lazy we are, etc. His lectures are super confusing and he make simple problems seem complex. I didn't like his style of teaching. Plus too much hw. And attendance is necessary. But he does post study guides which is nice
Very important to ASK questions. Many students take notes but don't understand him. Needs to learn to keep a consistent loud voice from beginning to end. Students at back miss important news with his soft voice. Doesn't check homework every week, grades it on Final day. So try to do the hwk or you will fall behind.
Will continue to teach even tho many students taking notes don't understand. Very important to ASK questions. Needs to keep a consistent loud voice from beginning to end. Students at back will miss important news bc of his soft voice. Bad doesn't check homework every week = lack of incentive to study. So try to do the hwk or you will fall behind.
He's a great prof! Going to class is a must. Keep up with the homework and do the study guides and you'll get an A. If you don't understand something, just ask him he's really there for you. Overall, best class. Take him!!
He's a very nice teacher, but itshard to keep up with him. He's accent is really hard to understand and he goes through he's powerpoints too fast. I didn't think it was necessary to go to class because you learn more through the hw. and teaching yourself.
I was good in math in hs and I think it depends on the teacher. He teaches way to fast through the power points. He has an accent but it's understandable. Hw is due the day of the final which doesn't help reinfoce the material you learn in class. I would reccomend taking a different teacher.
I had to drop his class after 3 weeks! If you're bad at math (can't self-teach*) expect to get tutored or drop. (I got C's in algebra2). I got tutored in the horn center 3 hrs/week, and i guess it didnt work cuz i got a 52% on the 1st test. I changed my major to a nonmath one after his class. other ppl got A's on the test tho-they understand math..
This guy is actually pretty cool. He doesn't explain very thoroughly which if you're not good at math in the first place he won't be good for you. He really does expect you to know most of the stuff already and his tests can get pretty difficult if you don't study. He likes to crack jokes to lighten up the mood a little. I definitely do not recommend him at 8 am it is the worst! Having a math class that early should be illegal. Other than that he's a cool professor you just have to know stuff.
He is an ok teacher doesn't explain that good but tries to keep your attention by making jokes. exam are easy if you do hw and study. dont recommend him for an 8am class you will fall asleep. doesn't take attendance so you can miss days
Mr. A is sometimes funny and his teaching is fairly understandable. Homework is done online and attendance is not mandatory. Three tests and a final, which are all very difficult. Study the exam reviews, they help a lot! And go to his TA's office hours, he's very helpful for understanding past test mistakes. Overall, a decent class and professor.
It's a pretty easy class if you are really interested. He is a funny teacher and is usually in a good mood.
Prof Ara has a good sense of humor. Study the sample exams he provides and you'll get an A on the exams. The final is comprehensive; if you know how to do all the problems on each sample exam, you'll get an A on the final.
i got a C with low studying. could have got a b .take if youre willing to work
Very good teacher. You have to work in his class. Not for the lazy. And his accent is not bad at all. People are just complaining because they probably ditched class and did not study. Im bad at math. Came into this class. Got a C on the first test, even got an F on one of the tests. But came out with a B in the class!! Big Curve.
He is hard to understand, even if you sit in the front. The PowerPoint slides he uses are from online, and they are very long and complex. Not very engaging when teaching. The problems he works out tend not to be what's relevant on the test. One good thing is that he's a generous grader -- he drops your lowest test score and grades on a curve.
Solid professor. Business Calc is a tricky subject, but he encourages you and has manageable expectations. Lecture notes and additional slides are provided. No attendance required, but recommended for a good grade. Adds humor to lectures at times. 4 tests, online HW, separate activity class. Your effort level determines the grade you earn.
Hard to understand, sit in front for clarity. I'm not the best at math. but i taught myself the entire textbook and managed to get an A.
Can't say anything bad about this professor. He's fair in his grading, the amount of effort you put in is the grade your going to get. SHOUld go to every class in order to understand the notes. and REVIEW the notes and mathzone. review review review. Tests are straightforward, you either know the material or you dont.
Very Nice professor. Explain everything clearly. Do what he wants you to do and u will get An easy A. Some do not study math enough and think professor isnt good. Take him .
Muhammad is a great professor. He has a thick accent but you can understand him. He is very approachable and is always early. Class will be easy if you do your work and PAY ATTENTION. he goes over tests and has some sense of humor. Likes to see students succeed.
Class is really easy - basically algebra & int. algebra review. wouldn't come to class if i had the choice since its so easy. he's straightforward - do homework for practice, do the study guide for the exam & you get a good grade. If the class is boring, that means you know your stuff. He's pretty funny & entertaining so the class isn't bad at all.
he definitely has an accent, doesn' get in the way sometimes, he goes over powerpoints but rushes through them which makes it really no point in oing over it. Don't bother asking questions, he is the RUDE, he discourages you and tells you to drop the class if you don't understand something. REALLY would't recommend taking him, browse for others.
Decent teacher. His lectures are average. Only problem I had with him was that he is mostly discouraging when it comes to questions regarding understanding the math work. His notes, activity problems, and study guides are helpful in preparing for the exams.
He's an ok professor... You will hear the phrase, "You are a precalculus student you should know this." Very discouraging but quite knowledgable on the material. He's one of those "hit or miss" professors.
Very nice professor that is always in a good mood. The class has very minimal homework, 3 exams and a final.
Oh my gosh. Most difficult class I have ever taken in my life. Enough said.
He was very rude whenever you would ask questions. He would also go over the notes way too quickly but he does give sample exams which help a lot and the homework is all done online with unlimited attempts.
Not helpful at all when asked questions. The online homework was the most helpful thing for tests. Do the sample tests! overall easy to pass, but not easy to get an A
Took me 2 nearly failed exams to realize that the Sample Tests here really help. You need mystatslab for homework, it definitely boosts your grade like it did for mine. Overall, class is reasonable and doesn't try to kill you but he can be unclear at times. Sit at the front, you won't get anything in at the back.
Four tests including final. Do the sample tests, they help a lot. Homework is online and very easy, you can do each question as many times as you want. Good class. Somewhat hard material, but an easy work load. As long as you do the homework and sample test you should be fine.
Araeipour can be confusing but he really wants to make all his students love math the way he does. Pay attention in class, do the sample tests and you will do just fine. He knows his stuff very well.
It was very difficult to understand him; voice projection is inconsistent and seems like he goes around in circles at times. However, will stop lectures to address student concerns before moving on. Make sure to do homework, it will boost your grade. Attending class is also points, skipping is losing points. Has an extra 10 point cushion every test
He has a strong accent and goes through the material quickly with notes scattered all over the board instead of neat and clear cut notes. I didn't get used to his style of teaching until halfway through the semester. It's easy to get lost during lecture so pay attention. Need textbook for homework questions only.
A good math teacher needs to encourage active participation from the students and constantly motivate them. Prof. Ara is The One.
A lot of people in my class complained about him, but I found him to be an amazing professor and very helpful. I received a C in high school calculus but finished with an A+ in his class. The homework is online and you can make up points with the test corrections. The tests are very straight forward. He can be a little difficult to understand.
Professor Mohammad is a rude professor and does not respect students questions. He makes jokes about their questions even though the questions will be quite serious. He does not know how to teach the subject correctly and expects students to know and remember all of Algebra. I do not recommend taking him.
He is such an amazing teacher and takes time to teach every lecture even if it means falling behind on schedule. He's always eager to answer whatever questions you might have. He seems intimidating at first but if you go to office hours he'll be really nice. He's really chill on grading so you can get some points if you don't get full credit. No EC
I struggled at first until I went to office hours to ask for help with things I didn't understand; he was really nice and broke down the problems. But no lie, YOU HAVE TO PUT IN THE WORK TO PASS THE CLASS. You can't wing it, you have to study, do the homework and portfolio if you want to understand the material enough to do well on exams.
Literally participation is like a golden ticket to his class. No matter how hard you try on his tests, if you don't show up for more than 3 times in his class, it's over.
Quite nice and understanding as long as you communicate with him. Attendance is very important to him so don't skip class! No textbook needed and just pay attention in class and go to office hours!!! Tests can be quite difficult so study and ask questions. Can be intimidating and expects you to know things beforehand but is willing to help.
Honestly, Dr. Araeipour was an amazing professor. He's very understanding and only wants what's best for you. He provides you with everything you need to succeed. His lectures are extremely helpful and easy to grasp concepts. All my friends complain about how hard Calculus was, but having this professor made me think they're over-exaggerating.
frustration frustration frustration. this teacher never taught us a thing. when you ask him a question, he says "read the powerpoints" he conducts review sessions but none of the review questions are on the exams. he did not teach me a thing about statistics.
Wont help if you have a question that he deems is too "Elementary". I know people say that the test is nothing like the homework but believe me when i say ITS NOTHING LIKE THE HOMEWORK. Really rude. Honestly had a hard time listening to him because he just frustrated me too much. if your familiar with the material take it, if not dont waste money
I took this as my first ever Calculus class and found the class to be fairly straight-forward. He's a little dry during lectures, but they really help prepare you for his exams. The class is exam heavy, but the homework and lectures almost always have problems identical to the ones on the tests. H
During my time online with him, the class has been a bit rough. His online lectures make the class feel like an eternity. Overall, if you show up to class, take notes, and do the homework you will pass. But his lectures can get very confusing sometimes and its hard to tune back in.
if you don't do your homework, you will not pass your tests. if you don't master exactly how he shows his work (for tests, you show work), you will get points removed. on tests he has removed points for writing too close together or too lightly??? what does that have to do with our ability to do math. lectures are so so hard to pay attention to.
Many of the lectures did not take the entire hour. He goes over many examples during class for each subject on the exams. Four exams are 100 points each. There are also quizzes and homework, which will help immensely. The final is worth 400 points, so make sure to do well. He will replace your worst score with the final.
he is a great teacher and made me feel confident about my math skills (i failed every math class i took in hs). so nice and teaches you the easiest ways to do the work which makes it so much easier to understand. 10/10
He is a good professor if you had taken calculus before and helped refresh your memory. Sometimes he can come off as rude but its not a big deal. Goes very fast on slides and class usually ends in about 30 mins. Make sure to take the homework serious as it correlates a lot to the tests. He did do test corrections and gave you points for showingwork
The best easiest classes to take online. Homework and tests is myopenmath and it gets easier with practice. Some lectures and all study guides are good to look over before the taking the test to expect the expected. He goes over the test if you asked if you feel like you got the work done just wrong the answer inputted.
Don't take this class if this is your first time learning calculus, but if you have you'll be fine. Lectures end around 30 min. You have a lot of time to complete homework. Tests are exactly like the homework, don't bother with the study guides. Gives partial credit on exams if you email or during office hour.
Do your best to keep up with HW, don't wait last minute! No purchases needed. His lectures go pretty fast but he has pre-recorded lectures for you to rewatch/ watch ahead. Very lenient on partial credit. Can seem mean but really cares about his students and wants them to succeed (good teaching philosophy!). Don't be afraid to ask questions fr!
Exams and assignments rely heavily on memorization of lectures, which means you have to rewatch the video lectures he uploads and constantly pay attention. Miss one class, and you're completely lost.
he's cool can be rude sometimes but its not a big deal. this was my first time taking calc and it's not too bad if you know how to do basic algebra. tests and hw were online and they do correlate to the test so do well on those. try not to miss class just because he does move on pretty fast.
Lectures can feel lackluster at times, but it's calculus and the professor is trying his best. 4 exams and a final exam make up 70% of your grade and the averages were around 70%, although the low was always 0s which could just be bringing it down.
This was the easiest math class I've ever taken. He gives you a lot of time to complete homework and the website he assigns it on makes it so easy to understand the concepts there is a lot of helpful videos. There are 4 exams worth 100 points each final is 300 points. I would only ever take calc again if he was the prof. Showing work not mandatory.
Since he's online, the course was very easy. He gives partial credit after exam corrections which is nice. He flies by lectures fast but he has prerecorded lectures so definitely use those as a plus. A lot of online homework so pace yourself. Overall, I recommend his online class ESP for biology majors that just want calculus out of the way.
Honestly, very easy math class since it was online. He posts his lectures so you can study it since he goes through lectures fast (watch older lectures as he goes more into detail before) Gives partial credit, overall pretty good math class if you want to get it out of the way. I would take him again! He seems intimidating, but he's actually nice.
Professor Araeipour is a great teacher who makes calculus much more manageable. The online homework and tests are very helpful, and his pre-recorded lectures are useful for reviewing concepts. Though lectures can move quickly, using Unstuck study alongside the provided resources really helped me stay on top of the material.
I've never taken any calc class in highschool or college and Dr. A made class easy to learn and manageable. Communicates and accommodates well. Records lecture if you're absent or need to rewatch. Everything is on My Open Math. Test are exactly like Quiz & Hw. 2 attempts per quiz. Lenient and gives partial credit back on your test. Super caring!
