This professor wants to ensure that you understand the material. His tests are more than fair and mostly revolve on the homework.
MO is a good teacher, he Does take the time to explain when you ask, but if nobody speks up he will fly through the material, i had to drop the first time i took him since i could never catch up, but then i retook in summer and got a very good grade.
he does not care about students progress, first thing he said to students when he walked in was that he had no time to go over material in a one on one basis, nor does he care if they understand it.
He does tend to go through the material quickly; but he will slow it down if students have questions. He does a lot of sample problems from the book on the board, which is extrememly helpful. I wish I could have him for Calculus 2.
Ara was very helpful by doing a lot of sample problems and practice test problems that were almost identical to the test problems. Do your homework and show up on time daily and you're almost garunteed to pass.
he was easy, just do the homework and your fine. but he moved kinda fast so it was easy to get lost.

He's actully really good, The online class is hard but it's because of the amount of homework you get. He does take the time to answer your questions and cares about how your doing. 130 is 110 but with more details and log thrown in. He is strict about the rules so pay attention. if you want a class were you can coast this is not it.

I have to say that he is an excellent teacher. Very knowledgeable and in depth instruction. Tests to same level as he instructs. No surprises on his exams. As with life, You get what you put into it. Mr. Araeipor is a pretty good teacher. Although he moves wayy too fast and throws everything at you, its your part to go back and review. if u get A's on all 4 tests you don't have to take the finals. Although the finals can change ur grade. I had a 78% in the class and after taking the finals i got and A in the course! Tests are way easier than HW
Excellent professor for Finite Math. Makes material easy in class than book. Not an easy grader, but very helpful..you can't miss class though. Drops 1 exam. Also, he bosts up your grade if he knew you had worked hard. I droped this class from some other professor, ended up getting a B+ easily in his class.Totally recommend..
He does go fast, you have to keep up with him. Taking good notes and understanding notes is extremely important. He is tough & very fair. He has a great sense of humor and is very dramatic! He is an extraordinary teacher and likes to offer extra help to students! He is the best Math teacher I have ever had!
I liked his class. He's not the easiest teacher, and you will have to study. The tests aren't that hard (he reviews them and gives you the answers) and the final is based on the previous test. Overall he's a decent teacher.
He is a good teacher. He will help you if you need it. He made me uncomfortable though when he asked me out for coffee and told me I looked like his favorite actress. After that I dropped the class because I felt really akward in his class.

he had an accent and was hard to understand at first but you get the hang of it. he really is interested in getting his students to pass. i took him for prep for algebra & intermediate algebra, i really liked him. some people though dont, it all depends on the person i guess.
Honestly his not a great teacher, took his class couldn't understand his speech. Someone asked if he could explain himself, he yelled while explaining himself the math problem.
i took his hybrid class n its really chill bc you can take quizzes and hw as many times you want for the grade you want. Hes not like the most loving teach and n kinda moody so once a week is cool! I recommend making the BOOK ur teacher! super helpful n study guides r exactly like the test but w diff #s
Incomprehensible, rigid, and tries to flirt with his female students. Ewww! I felt so uncomfortable in his class and dropped just so I could get away from his freakiness! He plays favoritism and is so arrogant it is ridicolous! I am so glad I switched to another teacher. Ewwwww!!!!
I TOOK HIS ONLINE STATS CLASS. VERY IMPORTANT TO GET THE BOOK AND ACTUALLY READ IT AND REREAD IT. THE BOOK IS YOUR TEACHER NOT MOHAMMAD. GOOD THING ABOUT HIS "CLASS" IS YOU CAN RETAKE ONLINE QUIZ AND HOMEWORK AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT--SO IT'S EASY TO GET 100% ON QUIZZES AND HOMEWORK.
I transferred out of his online class because there is absolutely no communication and he doesn't put -anything- into his classes. Nothing. "Read book, watch the lectures that come with your book, take test." You don't even need a professor for that. Not to mention when you email him, he can't seem to -read- what you're saying to him.
This teacher is cruel, mean, loud, obnoxious and incomprehensible. If you try to ask him questions, he shouts the answer back at you, and makes you feel incredibly foolish for even asking! He has NO patience and appears to be teaching the class so he can hook up with younger females in his class. He gives a lot of hw and bottom line: He SUCKS!!!!!
I took him 3 summers ago and it was all online but the test was at the school. He had office hours that were all over the place and though he seemed nice and like a good teacher, he sucked at both. Wasn't helpful so I ended up having to drop him because he just wasn't any good on any level in my opinion. Avoid him like I have been since for ANY Mth
If you are good with math, then take him. I am not, I do agree with the other posts how he makes you feel dumb for asking questions. I took this class with another professor before and compared to the previous one this guy is HARD!!! I even tried to talk to him at his office hours and I still did bad in the class. I wouldn't take him again...
He seems a knowledgeable and fair teacher who genuinely wants to help his students any way he can. DO NOT make the same mistake as me and take his class online or in hybrid if you are not a "math person" like I did because I it was impossible to catch up after falling behind even a little. He's very nice and I thought he was funny.
Professor Araeipour was quite an interesting professor because of his way with people. He easy to approach and he explains the assignments simple. If you complete the homework assignments and do good on the quizzies then you'll do great on the exams and pass. Take him you want be sorry!
I actually enjoy math and have had great instructors in the past. Unfortunately, this man is not one of them. He lacks the communication skills needed to interact with his students. He taught us nothing. The videos and books were my teacher. He also has a tendency to incorrectly post the wrong answer. Do NOT take his class.
This class is quite difficult. I struggled the entire semester. He expects students at this level to really understand all math concepts prior to this level. Nevertheless, as long as you do your best and complete all the assignments it's possible to pass. I should have failed and passed with a C.
Makes math fun. Encouraging, but lets you know you have to do the work to pass. Wants you to succeed. Fast paced. Pay attention. Don't miss class. Flexible on textbook. Can use older versions or international edition. Don't waste your money on MyMathLab. He doesn't require it. Most important, do all homework immediately to not get behind.
Stats class was very difficult,he dosen't explain & assumes everyone is smart & knows everything. he won't answer questions & makes u feel dumb wen you do ask somthing. don't take him!! & his accent is a little hard to understand. Horrible! Barely explains his work and expects too much out of his students. Babbles on about useless and irrelevant stuff, like when he starts talking on and on about what you'll learn in Calculus. Talks a lot about how important education is instead of trying to teach us the material. Has a really thick accent and is hard to understand sometimes.
I took his statistics class as a hybrid class. Attendance is definitely mandatory. The videos and sample tests were pretty much my teachers. He just went over the answers to the sample test and the exams. Gave help if you asked but very condescending tone. You'll pretty much have to teach yourself. Exams are similar to sample tests.

Mr. Araeipour is a pretty good teacher. statistics itself is a difficult topic so no matter what, you do need to take the time to study, read the book, and practice. Yes he had a short temper but he did a good job teaching the class. He didnt take much time to review certain things, but he was pretty good at explaining most things.

His accent is a little hard to understand. He never call his student by name. I hate it when he called out "CLASS!" when he want response.
Prof. Araeipour was a great instructor! I took his hybrid class where the brunt of the material must be self learned by the student. But,he always maximized class time and clarified any material. Also, during class he would specify how he wanted the answers written on tests to maximize points. Even being a procrastinator I managed to pull an A!
Everything is easy if you pay attention. If you don't then you'll be left behind with no one to blame but yourself.
I am so glad to take Prof. Ara's Stat 1 hybrid class. The tools we use online are very helpful. Just do all your homework on time (pref before class meeting). Assignments and tests are good guides and he helps so much in clarifying the material. The class is VERY convenient with my schedule. Be diligent and organized and you'll get an easy A.
He's a very wise cracking professor with a sense,of humor. Enough about his personality, his sample test are a replica of the actual exam, thus, if you don't thoroughly do the sample, it's unlikely you'll pass the exam. His accent is strong yet not difficult to grasp; however I relied more on the book than lectures. I got a B in the overall course.
This class can be a very easy class or a hard class. Depending on the knowledge you have. Most of the work you do is on a program called Aleks that you have to pay ($50). The textbook isnt needed. Overall, he is rude and expects you to know your stuff. You pretty much teach yourself the content. I do not recommend him.
he was the best math teacher Ive had. he cares. he gives out sample tests and goes over all the questions. we used examples from the book. his accent wasn't all bad. i sat in the front seat in the middle and i got a D but i leaned a lot after 15 months of no math. if he was available on t&th, i would have taken his class again. amazing math teacher
This class is half lecture & a program called aleks. So, no need of textbook, only the $50 program .Plus, sample tests are exactly like the test he gives once a week. His lectures are based on students questions, so pay attention. If you dont, your doing no good to yourself. This class is easy, if you do all your work on time & ask questions.
A very difficult teacher, irritable, grumpy, puts you down. He goes off topic constantly....he hates stupid questions. Whatever you do, do not take this teacher!!! He is horrible. Some teachers love there job and you can just tell by how they teach...He hates his job. I re took this math class with a better teacher and got an A.
I loved this class, he makes you think about why you are using math instead of just applying it to the problems. He really cares about his students and it shows, you will do well if you apply yourself and show up to class. Math is not my favorite and I loved this class! Take him =)

Many students dropped after first exam. Must come to class Everyday ! There is 5 exams they all consist of 2 chapters, must do a review & practice test of both chapters and also an overall sample test in order to take an exam(ALOT OF WORK). Self taught class if math isn't your subject & you cant teach yourself , this class isn't for you.
Great Professor. He seems like he really wants to help you and stresses over your understanding on the material. It is a lot of homework, but getting through it means you'll have a better understanding on the tests. He gives you a 10 point extra credit buffer on each test you take to help you out. Don't buy the book, just the online material.

This teacher is rude, will not hesitate to belittle you and does not care if his students are failing! The teacher lectures, homework assignments or youtube videos DO NOT match with the test! This class needs revision ASAP!
Took it online & it was a HUGE mistake. If you struggle with math AT ALL, then don't take this class online or during winter. All self taught & there were like 300 online problems due every Thurs and exams every Fri. I work full time & tried to fit in the 4-5 hrs studying every day just to keep up. Oh & teacher's rude & makes you feel stupid.
Dont sit in the back if you want to do good in this class. Ask questions. Do all the homework and pracrice tests.
Prof is serious but inspirational. Class consists of 5 Exams,lowest being dropped. The day of each exam students must turn in a DLA, Sample Test, Hw. Sample tests really help. Dont wait til the last minute to cram all the hw in, otherwise the semester will be hell. Points deducted per absence. Attendance can either make or break your grade.
This class was tough, but MyMathLab really helps out, and the teacher really really really wants to help you become great at math. I took him for 130 and now I am about to take him for STAT 1 (also online). He has 4-5 on-campus exams on Fridays with a 2-3 hour mandatory review session right before so everything is fresh in your mind!
He was pretty helpful If I needed to make up a test at another day. But when I had questions through email or in person not very thorough and clear, would sometimes dodge my question. Unfortunately, you can't really understand him that well cause of his accent. But if you need help and talk to him individually he will do his best to pass you

I HATE math but took it online for Math 110. If you do well on the review sheets and sessions, the test will be very reflective of it. I found that MyMathLab helps a bit with learning the material, but really focus on the REVIEWS he gives; final is based on them. If you follow instructions and do what he says, it's a pretty easy class.
He basically told me to drop the class that I wont make it. Mind you I did homework and was willing to do tutoring and all. Took my first test today and that was it. Dropped the class cause he pretty much made it seem like I am going to fail if I stay in the class. And, he emails me after I drop to say I could stay If I was willing to work hard.
He is a really good teacher. I took him for Math 130 in Spring'17. At first he seemed harsh because he told a couple students to drop the class. When he sees you working hard and trying to get a good grade he'll make an effort to help you no matter what. He really cares about the success of his students. DONT MISS DAYS DONT LEAVE EARLY !!
He doesn't give out homework. Just notes and test. He goes over the problems too fast. He expects you to know everything, and if not, he says, "you shouldn't be in this class, if you don't know". There's no textbook, but there an online book that you purchase for $12. It also comes with an online website that has quizzes and the PowerPoint slides.

For this being an online math class, he's pretty easy. Obviously if you strugle with math then you shouldn't take it online PERIOD, but if your alright in it & you just need an easy A, this guy is it. His practice test replicate his actual test & he offers extra credit. No book or hw, just a $12 fee for the math lab website which is relativley easy
Took his online class. Video lectures are straightforward w/ mandatory exercises that you have to bring to each on-campus exams (there were 4, plus the final) but he doesn't check them.. he just skims through it to make sure you're doing it. If you're not that good at math, I wouldn't take his online class.
Prof Araeipour is a pretty good professor, and trying to teach math isn't easy. He can be cranky or snappy sometimes. You really have to study and he is glad to help. His execution of the subject is good. What I really like is that he truly wants you to succeed and pass the class. HE BELIEVES IN YOU.

I definitely enjoyed his class since he is an engineer . His exams are DOABLE! Theres 4 exams, and they ask you for almost the same questions as practice exams. Homework are online, And there are lots of extra credit opportunity. I got A !
I took this class online and let me tell you DON'T DO IT. There is a lot of homework and if you're not doing at least three assignments a week it will pile up on you before it's due. Also, The video study guide for the tests aren't his lectures, they're his colleague's and he teaches totally different than prof A which is super confusing.
Araeipour was very condescending whenever the class would have a hard time understanding. He would just say that everything was elementary algebra. Towards the end of the semester he went back on his word that he would replace the lowest exam grade if you got a B on the final. "I will decide if you earned that right". Worst math teacher ever!
3.5* Not a satisfying experience but better by comparison. Instead of judgement, I'd like to tell you about the online-class structure to help you prepare; 1) HW & Test will be on a website, 2) you need the ability to teach yourself, 3) it will take x2-3 more time to DIY, 4) Pro; no textbook cost. Good for someone who work best independently.
Pretty decent class. There's a lot of mandatory homework to do online that can be pretty difficult at times, but then the exams are very easy compared! The internet will be your friend when needing help solving certain questions. Symbolab got me through this class. Easy enough, there's just a lot of work.
I took him for a winter course and although his lectures could be kind of vague a lot of the course is centered around WebAssign so if you're willing to power through WebAssign you can still learn a lot. He can be rough around the edges, but email him respectfully and he is more than willing to work with you.

Despite certain people making the winter term miserable for Mohammad, He was still very helpful and organized. Just study hard and you will pass his class. He is also very reliable when you need to get in contact with him, just treat him respectfully and he will do the same.
Prof is one of the most difficult Ive ever had: unwilling to assist students, difficult to get ahold of, expects students to just know it, etc. I would 100% recommend taking your math course with a different prof UNLESS you are a math major, otherwise your time in his class will be a complete nightmare. Oh, and be prepared to teach yourself!!
Don't even bother taking this Professor's class. He doesn't teach well and on the homework he makes us watch video assignments on topics that he doesn't even teach in class and even the videos make more sense than he does. He's also condescending and very rude. Also if you have a job, I would advise you to find another professor. Too much workload.

I love math but this class made me not like it. There was so much homework, and if you can't figure it out on your own you are screwed. I'm good at teaching myself material but the amount I had to teach myself in this class was ridiculous. It's definitely do-able if you space out the work it's just very frustrating because he doesn't actually teach
Took Calc before so had an idea of what's going on. If you never took Calc it'll be a hard class. You have to buy WebAssign for all work and tests. Watch his youtube videos for how to do work but you'll end up having to teach yourself. Picky on work so you have to show every step. Fail an exam and you won't pass, take if you feel confident in math
If you are relatively good at math and have the ability to self-teach, I think this class is fine. He gives lectures and reviews videos and has office hours, personally, I couldn't understand those and had someone else tutor me. 4 tests, 1 final, and lots of homework! Uses WebAssign for everything and weights the questions on the exam differently.
I wouldn't bother with this professor. MyOpenMath is so confusing. He dropped me from his class for no reason and when I was forced to attend his office hours to discuss the issue, he was incredibly rude and disrespectful. I had never in my life had an argument with a teacher, until it came to him. This dude is something else.
The whole class is on another platform which was very confusing. The way he has the class mapped out was not easy to understand. would not recommend his class, he also isn't very understanding.
1st lecture the professor was rude on the zoom call and almost all students did not dare ask a question because he would have to stop his recording and be upset about it. He has a Phd, but that doesn't mean he should make his class so intense for a city college level. Students are just taking this class as a prerequisite not trying to major in Math
Although I passed the class. I would stay far far away from this professor. If NO other class is available but HIS, then I'm encouraging you to not take his class and just wait it out until next semester to take w/ another professor. The way his class is set up is very confusing. During lectures he can very rude when questions are asked.

Mohammed is the professor who makes you realize the beauty of math and its perfection! I had him several semesters ago, it's about time I thank the person who reminded me just how mysterious and powerful this all is. If you communicate with him, he will communicate with you! He's here to help you succeed.
Hes a nice professor however i struggled to understand how he taught the material. it was easier to go figure it out on my own. assignments are all open on a different platform. and the platform is very busy but you will get the hang of it. there are also 5 discussion posts. and 5 exams including the final. just be ready to teach yourself.
Weekly homework and discussion quizzes. Lectures are mostly straight from a slide deck and do not help much. However is willing to work with you if you ask questions or attend office hours. Khan Academy or YouTube will help you.
Don't take online! His class is confusing, the videos he provides dos not provide much help, skips over a lot during lectures. Just get ready to do it yourself. If you're not a strong math person, don't even bother. He can be nice but doesn't mean he can teach/. Good luck!

THIS WAS NOT AN EASY CLASS :/ THE PROFESSOR DOES NOT TEACH THE MATH CONCEPTS PROPERLY AND CAN BE RUDE AND ARROGANT AT TIMES. EACH EXAM CONSISTS OF 3O QUESTIONS INCLUDING THE FINAL EXAM & THE H.W. AMOUNT IS INSANE WITH 20 SECTIONS FOR EACH CHAPTER. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HIM, YOU WILL REGRET THIS AND HAVE THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.
SO MUCH HOMEWORK. Can't stress this enough. Homework website is very difficult and tedious to use. Overall, my experience with this teacher was just terrible, but I guess if you are really that strong at math, by all means, take the class. Just be prepared to self-study the entire time.
he can seem intimidating at first. he strictly enforces homework, attendance, and exams in the first two weeks, be prepared! Once you get to know him, he's very caring and understanding as long as you communicate. He assigns lots of homework but asks for feedback. Exams offer half credit for showing work, and scores can improve significantly.
He pushes for you to do your homework and pay attention to lectures. He says if you watch/listen to the lectures, then you should understand without taking notes but I would recommend taking notes because you need to take notes for the hw either way. After tests, if you talk to him he will try and give you extra points if you made any dumb mistakes
Refused to allow me to make up an exam. I had a valid reason as to why I was unable to take the exam, but h demanded documents to prove why I didn't attend. Overall horrible professor, and I do not recommend this professor at all. His lectures are painful, along with being unable to understand his horrible internet connection during lectures.
Although his lectures can be time consuming to follow, I studied a lot outside of class and kept up with the homework and quizzes. He assigns a lot of homework which takes a lot of time. He's understanding, when you talk to him.
Self righteous ego
He's a very good professor took him online for calculus 1, me and most of the class got an A he's so understanding and accessible. Be ready to do much homework ( which helped enhance my grade to an A at the end as you have unlimited attempts!)
