he has a really strong indian accent, and talks really quietly
if you want to learn math take this pro. he is really good..for your info, he is not Indian.
he is the best teacher ever. very easy. make sure you do your homework and understand the problems and you get A. the test questions come from the homework and the problems that he solves on the board. he explains materials they way you understand. i recommend him highly.
Lectures quickly w/ a heavy accent. But obvious that he wants to help students learn, not just cram stuff. Doesn't nag at students.
he is the best teacher ever.
his accent is sexy and he actually speaks really well also some sense of humor.. just a lil hard on the test but still good ^_^
his test was really easy and he tries to help everyone. he cares about people who are lost during the lecture. he's funny too!! :-)
Great teacher!!!
He's a nice guy, witty, appreciates hard work, cute accent, but easy to understand, wants students to succeed.. GOOD TEACHER!
Average Instructor, do not recommend.
took the time to explain every little detail in a problem, especially word problems. shows different kinds of methods so you can decide for yourself what works for you. funny at times and a seems to be an intelligent individual(took class in the summer so didn't get to know him well). if you need a lot of help with math then take his class. gluck!
he's a great teacher, teaching wise. And he understands that people have other things to do in life besides being in his class and doing math hw.plus he looks good :)
Very helpfull teacher, funny, cares about his students. I've learned a lot from his class.
he's a great teacher. I love him
Goes way too fast. Not interested in actually teaching. Just quickly goes through examples. Out of 90 students, only 12 left half way through the class! Rude and arrogant!! Will be reported to the dept chair!
He is the first funny math teacher I have actually met. He goes through examples fast but if you dont understand something you just have to voice it and he will try and make you understand. He cares about his students and is VERY fair as long as you show up to EVERY class and dont skip. He will grade harder if you arent showing up to classes.
He is a great teacher and I love his jokes. We had 5 tests, he dropped the lowest score. The final was so easy, we just had to study our tests because the problems were coming from them. We had no quizes, but he assigned homework which we had to show him at the day of the final. Great sense of humor (NOT rude and NOT arrogant at all!!!)
This teacher has an accent that is sometimes hard to understand. He was sick 4 days out of the semester. He does quickly go through examples, although if you have a question you had better ask it, otherwise he will think you know it. It almost seems like his teaching methods are better suited for people who are RE-TAKING the class.
Good teacher, wants you to know the subject. Goes very quickly so you better keep up or your done. Make sure he knows you are trying and working hard.
He has a great sarcastic sense of humor that I found to be hilarious (others here obviously don't understand it). He does move fast, so you have to keep up but he is a very fair grader and he cut a lot of students some serious slack. If you miss too many classes and don't do the homework, as he would say, "may God have mercy on your soul."
#1 math pro
took his math11 class in summer. He is great! I am not good at math or anything, but if you do your work (really DO all of your homework) then you be ok on the test - and the exams are from the prior tests as well. No surprises. What's you to do well! He is great!
The worst teacher ever, i didnt undrestand what he was talking about,he was going so fast and he thinks he's really cool, made me wanna punch him in the face!ugh!
good teacherr
Great teacher! I'd take him for other math if he was teaching. He does take attendance and it counts as part of your grade but that's easy pts. He does alot of examples that help you on the hw and tests. Very fair grading scale. As long as you do the hw youll do great on tests; partial credit and extra credit opportunities. Great teacher!!
Great! Clear and explains in a way I could understand.
He is a GREAT teacher!! really really funny!. His tests are out of 110, so he gives out 10 points more. Very easy and clear. His tests are mostly based (some of them equal) to the homework. So if you do all the homework, you'll get an easy A+.
He is a very good teacher but you def need to be there and take great notes - he hates repeating the same material so PAY ATTENTION and get a tutor if your not too great at math... DO ALL YOUR HOMEWORK because that is where everything pretty much comes from - 88% is an A so if you try you can get an A but it is like I said HARD WORK
He knows the material but flys throught expecting you to get it. Do the homework! Read the chapters DO NOT just use his lectures or you will not get everything you need to know. All tests are from homework so make sure you do it. Also attendance is mandatory for this class otherwise he will drop you. Not a bad teacher just tough.
Very nice polite ready to serve you. Knows the material too well does go faster than most teachers you do have to ask a lot of ques if you want to learn and do hw. Overall success in this class requires lots of practice, he can be tough if your not good with math so study and do hw to pass
awsum professor...his tests are out of 110 and A grade is 88 and above so..rrespective to how much v score v will get a bonus of 10 marks
He knows his material, knows how to teach the subject, but at the same time the worst teacher ever. Doesn't want to answer any questions and its his way or no ones way. He says if you do the HW, your fine on the test, but nope. Just study straight from the notes cuz the examples from the notes are the one on the tetst. It was just BAD. Not worth it
he is a good prof and he really wants you to learn math. 85% of the exams are from your note and the rest from the homework. he goes fast, so if you are not good at math don't take him in summer and you should be fine. easy A if you follow him
Difficult but fair, do all of your homework b/c the tests come from it. Drops lowest test score.
Wonderful Teacher!
he's a good teacher but he's kind of mean...teaches materials really fast...kind of hard to follow
Really hard class, but at the end of the semester he offered almost every student a C. He gave us the option to not take the final and take the C, or take the final and try for a higher grade. I took the C and I'm finally done with Math!
Great teacher!
great teacher
I suck at math, but I got an A in his class. It wasn't easy, but he made things crystal clear, so that if you did the homework (which you must turn in at the end of the course anyway) then you'll be fine. He encourages questions. He seems tough, but, like any teacher, he will care enough to help you if you care enough about the class to ask for it.
Absolutely great! The key to receiving a good grade in this class is to study. Also, all he really cares about is the final. I got two Fs in this class, but I still passed with an A. When you study for the final, don't just study the previous tests, study the whole book (chapters 6-12).
Great pro. He is unbelievable.
he will drop you if you miss more than 2 classes
he is an ok teacher he teaches off of problems from the book not examples his tests are ok if you study you can get an a if you dont you wont pass
2 words: GREAT TEACHER..probably one of the best math teachers i have ever seen. he's reasonable, 10 points extra credit for each test so if you miss 10 pts you get 100% still! do the homework and pay attention to his shortcuts during his lectures. i suck at math but i was recieved an A. i give an A++ for the teacher rating though.
he is hot
He speeds through the material! =(
He talks and goes through problems on the board too fast. Make sure you take good notes! He seems mean in the beginning of the class to scare away the slackers, but if you do well on his tests he excuses your Final and homework. Extra credit points is given on each test. Great teacher! I hate math but I loved his class.
as long as you do the hw and take notes, the tests are a breeze
Worst teacher ever.
Do not be intimidated, ASK QUESTIONS. Responsive to emails. Extra 10% on every exam, if you ace every exam you will be excused from the final with an A. I do not recommend taking him (or any math) for a 2X/week summer course, bc you will be lost in the 2nd half of class & will spend the next day playing catch up.
He is a nice teacher. He goes kind of fast but wants you to understand. I have trouble in math and recieved and A+. His class is not hard but you do have to do your work and study.
He's way too fast and not clear. He uses the book for the homework but makes his own tests. Everyone was failing, and even people who got good scores said he "can't teach." He "gets headaches" when you ask questions. AVOID. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE UNLESS YOU WANT TO TEACH YOURSELF.
He might be a great teacher, but his pace was just to fast for me. I struggle with math anyway and he just assumes you know some of the material already. He might be great but i couldn't learn from someone who hurries through the material as fast as he did. i could not follow along as fast as he taught...to me it was a blur. He's to fast
Although he comes off as a no bs kinda guy, he is extremely generous with his grading. Class was easy, but it is difficult to follow him conceptually if you do not have a basic background in math.
He is frustrated and has a condescending attitude. His lectures are confusing as he goes off the book's slides and asks you to disregard most of it. He is unclear and confusing. The only positive thing is that he pointed out that the chapter practice tasts are on youtube. I would not take him again. I normally like math, but he makes it harder!!
Extremely helpful professor. He, rightfully so, wants you learn and not just worry about 'passing'. 10% extra credit for every exam, final exam has mostly the problems you missed in the previous tests, guys it cant get any easier than this. Just open the book and study/ read. An easy A for a little effort. Highly recommend.
Awful. Do not recommend at all.
Math is my worst subject but with Mr. A's help, I got an A in this class. His accent can be a little thick at times but he is an awesome teacher. He is very helpful. Take notes and study and you'll be fine. His tests aren't hard if you understand the material. I definitely recommend him!
Mr. Araeipour seems to know his stuff, and seems to grade rather generously, but I do not learn anything from him. Instd, he says chapters, and I read those. He just speeds through lectures, so I don't learn anything in class. Also, even if you ask, he can't really slow down at all. It's better to just stuythe book.
Dont do it! this class in the only class that fits my schedule so i had tot ake it! worst teacher ever! grades bad and misses alot of classes.
This class is very hard! His tests are not the examples he shows in class or in the homework. He does not explain anything during class, so you have to read the book. He is very specific when he grades the tests, and if you get a part of the answer wrong he will mark off most of the points. Nice guy, bad teacher.
When I first began the class, I was disappointed with the thoroughness of his explanations. The first test we took the majority of the class failed, as did I. Luckily he drops your lowest grade, but it has made the class very nerve wrecking. As long as you are consistent with your homework, you can follow along relatively easily with his lecture.
lazy professor. students create exams for his next semester as final project. lose ~2% of grade per absence. usually more inclined to publicly ridicule weaker students than help them. tells students who ask bad questions to drop the class. frequently slanders methods taught in book but then tells us to read the book when we ask for help.
He doesnt teach well. The lectures are very quick. He goes over the material fast. and by the time test comes no one is really ready for the test. we dont have any review time. or he doesnt have any time in class to go over the sudent's problems. HW is online and its not that helpful for the test. He is a great person, but not a great professor.
DON'T take this class unless you have a background in Calculus! He assumes you already know everything and doesn't take the time to explain anything. If you ask him a question he'll just make fun of you and say "You're in calculus you should know this" He grades very hard. Even if you get the right answer but he doesn't like how its done it's wrong
Thick accent which is hard to understand. Terrible at explaining difficult concepts. Drops lowest test grade. Doesn't answer student's questions. Felt very unprepared in calculus.
DO NOT take this class if you are expecting an easy A. He rushes through the material and will lecture material that's on the exam the next day. Does not review what so ever for the exams. Doesn't explain the lesson unless you ask and has high expectations. His exams are tough but he drops the lowest test. Only take his class if you have to.
The best Math professor I have ever come across in every aspect. He really understands his students and takes the time to help them succeed and excel. Be sure to talk to him after class and develop a personal relationship with him - it will pay off. Trust me. Grades matter, but also grades based on effort. Thank you Professor! God speed.
Do not recommend at all. He is a great guy but not a good professor. Only take him if you have a strong background in math!!
do not take his course especially during summer. he speeds threw . he expect you to already know much of it . if taking over summer HIGHLY RECOMMEND TUTORING. Lots of taking and not much writing or telling you how to work it out don just give you information and then you are supposed to understand it by yourself. he will answer questions .
Requirements won't do anything for you math skills. I also feel bad for a teacher who has to force students come to the class cuz if he doesn't do so, ppl don't want to come. His lecture is boring and he is not good at explanation. Get ready to teach yourself and keep up with his cash speed.
I took the 8 week Math 3B. It was a pretty quick pace, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a strong math background. Tests were much easier than the homework, if you can do (and understand) the homework every day after lecture you'll get an A without a hitch. He expects you to fully understand and expand on ALL previous math concepts.
I took his class for the summer and he expected everyone to already know everything. His tests are pretty hard, but he'll drop the lowest one. You shouldn't take him in the summer because he goes through the material fast. Don't skip class, or he'll drop you and do the homework. It definitely messed up my gpa.
For an 8 week Calc 2 course, this was ok. You still have to study everyday ,but his tests are not bad and he's a generous grader giving every test a 10 pt curve. If you study your previous test you'll be prepared for the final. Lectures are boring. I got Bs in math 2&3A. This was my first A in Calc. Do the hw, study really hard you'll get the A.
I had taken Calc 1 before and was just taking his accelerated summer class for college credit and i got an easy A. His exams are basic material and way easier then his online homework. If it's your first time taking calc and you're not strong in math though a suggest not taking him over the summer, or maybe not at all. If you're retaking he's fine.
This professor has a very thick accent so that makes his teaching hard tun understand. NO OFFICE HOURS & not many opportunities to get help in class. All homework is online which is difficult sometimes. Bad teaching & extremely boring. However, tests aren't horribly hard. No extra credit at all.
Has a very thick accent hard to understand! Jumps around a ton in lectures, hard to follow. Mumbles a lot, expects all students to be math experts. I'm a straight A student and I withdrew from this class!!! Take someone else!!!
Very terrible. 4 exams, comp final & replaces lowest. $100 required math hw program. wants you to eat, breath math. Nothing else matters. Exams contain trick answers. Notes are barely similar to exams. Will take off points for absence. Extremely difficult, and degrades you. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
Super difficult class! His accent isnt that bad, but he is a fast talker. The test is very different from the lectures. He tries to be funny, but ends up just being weird. Unless your good at math, do not take him. Take a different math prof!
not a good teacher. He expect you to know your algebra well and if you don't then he would tell you to drop the class because we do not belong it there and that what i did.
Not a very good teacher. He doesn't explain well and confused the class even more. Most of the students drop his class or stop showing up. He also except that you know your algreba well. He believe his class is easy, even when half the class fail his test. It was a very hard class to pass.
negative reviews are probably some salty lazy students. This was honestly one of the easiest math classes i've taken. He gave everyone 10 extra credit points on each test for just signing your name. All i did to study was rework the problems he went over in class until i could do them without messing up. this got me a 101 percent in his class.
Prof Ara is great it's just a hard class. Every test is based off EXACT problems from the lectures so make sure to redo lecture notes 3-4 times.
Do not take his course especially during summer. he speeds threw ,and he doesnt teach well. The lectures are very quick. He goes over the material fast.
I took his class at LACC. I nearly failed . I think with any other professor that I would have. The class was mostly online so our interaction was limited but when I reached out, he always responded, he wanted me to pass. He offers several opportunities to correct scores & study materials. But please, if you're weak at math, don't take online
I ended up dropping and took calc with another prof and got an A. Araiepour expects you to come to class already knowing EVERYTHING. Meaning, all those random skills you forgot from pre-calc, you better teach it to yourself because he has no compassion for that. Your prof is supposed to help you and he just does not.
His lectures aren't that great and the majority of the time, you have to teach yourself. However, homework is 20 percent of the grade and he always gives extra credit on each of the exams which makes the class much more passable compared to others (Took this at IVC instead of Saddleback). Not an easy course but calculus isn't supposed to be easy.
Be prepared to teach yourself. Expects the students to know everything before coming to class.... Rushes through material. Ended up taking it with different professor and got an A.
His lectures are very poor: he skims through the material very quickly with little explanation. Calculus is suppose to be difficult, but Araeipour definitely won't do you any favors. Expect to teach yourself all the material.
I know that calculus is not easy ,but the way this guy teaches is not helpful at all! when you don't get parts in calculus he will say "you should know this you guys are calculus students!" I mean honestly if a student is struggling shouldn't the professor hep the student? Please take someone else other than Arieapour!
One of the more easier and mellow professors I've had. Sets a clear guideline and expectations in the course. I bombarded him on how to best study and it's best to rework examples and chapter reviews. Everything you see in the chapter review is on the exam with just different numbers.
