He is the worst profressor I have had in all of my four years. He is unrealistic in his expectations, and he never gives positive feedback. He assigns so much work that you don't have time for any other class. He sucks.
Don't join ATiB.
Atib is a great opportunity and Dr. D is a good teacher. He is always willing to help you out if you need it. But beware -- don't join if you're not willing to put a lot of work into it!

Listen to that guy
Not an easy class, but the material is practical. DOES NOT DO A GOOD JOB TEACHING ACCESS AND SQL! That's 70% of the lecture material; requires lots of work but it pays off. The corporate hands-on experience rocks. Good resume builder.
Very hard classes. He is not 'nice' he has the personality of a brick wall. If you want to get a good grade, you have to kiss his butt...
Class is difficult but interesting. Grade is based on midterm, final, project, and in class assignments (attendance is mandatory).
Very good professor, he's straight-forward and has a good approach to teaching. He is a nice guy, always willing to help students.
Dr. D is a great professor! He really knows his stuff! ATiB is by no means easy, but Dr. D is always there to help if you need him.
Tests were hard, but the rest of the assignments were easy. Projects can get confusing but he was very willing to help.
Course work is easy, test can be very hard. Half the class was in the 50% range or lower on test. If you listen you can learn a lot, he is very knowledgeable.
Mr. Dadashzadeh represents Oakland University's business department quite well. They are a mafia operating under a cover of a university. Squeezing every penny out of a student under premise of "challenging coursework". Not only I would avoid this professor I would avoid attending SBA at OU. Simple as that.
Amount of coursework is absolutely ridiculous. This class is only 3 credits but yet you have to do 8 credits worth of work. Multiple projects due around the same time, expect to not have any time to do work in other classes. Expectations of quality of projects are absurd. Hard tests,do not expect to do better than a 70 on the first one, no curve.
He's a good proffessor and knows his stuff but I don't think he knows how to run a class. Doesn't allow time to finish tests. Expect to memorize everything he says and read if you want a decent grade. Homework is easy but runs the class like you have no life, job or other classes. Do not take unless last resort.
Do not take his class. NO reviews. In class assignments are set up to fail. He is on a power trip. His test are trickery. 120+pages you must print off and no questions on the test from it. Read the book thoroughly. Never enough time to finish the test. Wants to make you fail. Class avg this year 56%
Dr. D himself is very helpful, assisting people during in-class programming assignments and office hours. As for the material, computer programming is often a very polarizing subject - you either love coding or you hate it. Exams and weekly take-home assignments are lengthy and challenging. Expect to put a lot of time into the class.
VB Programming would have been fun if the class wasn't so fast and demanding. The exams are near-impossible, but score high on assignments and you can still pass (I'm amazed that he gave me a 3.1). Ask for help and he will answer quickly with plenty of examples (I spammed him with "help, what's wrong with my code now?" emails all semester.)
Very smart, but does not know how to properly use the resources provided by the university. Computers were in front of us, but we only used them to follow his notes. Tests were difficult and long. I recently graduated from the business school with honors, and received what I felt was an unfair C+, while missing only one class.
DO NOT take this professor. He is very knowledgeable, however he is on a constant power trip. His exams are set-up for you to fail. Class average was in the 60's. For a 300 level required class, the work load was ridiculous and he has no mercy. Do not take, even if it's your last resort.
Tough class overall, but he was very helpful. The project is a monster and so are the exams, if you put the time and effort in its doable.
One of the hardest professors I've ever had. The final project's workload seriously may have taken 2 semesters to complete! The exams were extremely difficult; barely anyone passed the final. Also, even though he is nice and helpful, he is very unclear on requirements for projects, assignments, and on exactly what to study for on exams.
4 texts to study. 2 to buy, 2 he is writing. Tests confusing. Class test average 51%. Forced to learn SQL to use Access, not necessary. 300 listed as prereq for 305, nothing applied to 305. I dropped MIS as a Minor. Dr D nice, but MIS courses are not worth the stress n tests designed for failure. MIS dropped GPA from 3.76 to 3.5.
I'm currently in MIS 305 with Dr. D and i find the class to be rather easy.. *knock on wood* He is very eager to help with any questions and he does a good job of explaining things. I would recommend this professor.
If you do the projects and keep up, you'll get a 3.0+. I cannot emphasize enough to do the projects, both in class and take home, and make sure they are of high quality. Why? You will get murdered on the tests. I saw a girl crying after the final. The tests are unbelievably hard. Almost no one finished. He is helpful with the projects, tho.
Projects are a must, attendance is a must, homework is a must! His exams are hard and will most likely bring your grade down a level grade. If you're interested in learning take him, otherwise avoid at all cost!!!
If youre and MIS major you probably cant avoid taking Dr D. Theres inclass work due every class. The exams are all open book open internet but still dont count on ever finishing. The points lay in the hw & quizzes due each week & the project, all of which Dr D is willing to help you with. He is not that hard if you truly want to LEARN the material
Dr. D is a really nice guy and really wants you to succeed. If you want to know what it's like to learn from someone who graduated from MIT he is the guy. This is a programming course. Some MIS majors hate programming which is okay because if you hate it this is the only class you need to take if you don't want to code.Check Google for quiz answers
Still waiting on my midterm grade.. Going on three weeks. Professor assigns to much work to grade and provide in a timely manner. Really disappointed with this course, the professor, and the university. I will not recommend the program I am in. Need more than 350 characters to speak accurately about this professor. Beware your GPA will take a hit.
Good teacher, easy course. If you have experience with Visual Basic, you will do extremely well. If you don't understand programming basics, you will struggle. Very quick to respond to emailed questions. Most of assignments can be done in class for assistance / team working. Exams were fair and examples given before taking them on Moodle.
I find this Professor terrible. He cannot relate to students that have had no programming experience. He expects too much for a beginner's programming class. He didn't even show up for the final exam.... I received between 90-95% on all assignments but failed all the exams.
The previous post is correct of what to expect in this class. If you are a beginner, approach with caution. Workload is insane and as far as grading is concerned, whether your a beginner or expert, it will be extremely harsh! The bonus points only affect your score by 2%, which is nothing considering how the exams are weighted.
Material isnt hard but what kills you is the exams!!! In a 3 hour span you must complete a written exam, a multiple choice exam, and perfect a hands on exam. Also on the hands on if anything is wrong its a automatic 10 points off even if its a small mistake. Worst class I have ever taken! The workload is unreal. You are about to be so stressed :)
I have never taken a more difficult class in my entire college career. Assignments are pretty simple, but can be time consuming. No matter how well you do on these you MUST do well on the tests. He doesn't curve so if(when) you do poorly on them you won't pass the class. He is also pretty condescending, so enjoy that too.
He gave me a 1.9, so if you aren't the best with computers and coding and excel don't take it online. I got a 3.2 when I took it in person.
Extremely tough class. Requires a lot of dedication. You should know the basics of Database if you plan to take MIS 515. The professor teaches at a very high pace. It is difficult to digest so much data in 1 lecture of 3 hours. People with experience in database related industry can understand this subject better.
Dr. D is a very respectful and helpful professor. However, he focuses more on grading rather than the aspect of teaching/learning. His materials should be updated. Presence is mandatory as you will be graded for in-class exercises, as well your presence in itself. This class is fairly not recommended for non-tech-savvy students.
He makes you work hard. I liked the class as it got me learning many things
Course content mirrors MCSA certification material, including BI. Be prepared for highly technical content, and do your work in and out of class. Don't be in grad school if you're not ready to work for it.
If you have a full course load, this class is extremely difficult. He grades very tough and has a million things going on. Everything is curved so you are not sure how you are actually doing. This class required the most time and effort and missing class will really hurt your grade. You will learn a lot but you might lose your mind in the process.
MIS 300 is not a difficult class. Dr. D makes it one. For our online section we had 3 exams, 2 major projects, 3 texts to study, and none of it seemed connected at all. Class is unfocused and requires far too much work for a 300-level course. Received the highest grade in the class on the three exams and still didn't learn much. Take it in-person.
Pompous, and the least personable instructor I've taken since I've started college. Gets insecure about how mind numbing his mono toned voice is throughout lecture, so he takes it out on his students by asking questions he knows they will not know. Do not take at all costs. Worthless excuse for a professor. Unapproachable and not understanding.
Horrible teacber, yells and criticizes you for not knowing the material he has gone no where near mentioning. Sad man making an easy course overly complicated to make it seem like his job has any purpose. And a Google search solves everything he taught do not take his class angry little man
Not the worst professor I've had but pretty close. He assigns a lot of work and doesn't thoroughly go over it, then he gets mad when you don't understand it. Seems like your stereotypical know-it-all professor yet never worked a day in the real world or stepped outside of a university. He's tenured so he could care less about how badly he teaches.
If you ever and I mean ever have to take a class and you see Mohammad Dadashzadeh (Dr. D) is the instructor, DO NOT do it find anyone else, I cant even begin to explain the issues with this guy, absolute garbage of a professor the worst Ive had in my college career and the most ridiculous grading system Ive heard of the highest grade in my class
I would not take this class! He was an extremely tough/ confusing grader, making learning impossible. There were 3 textbooks and the structure was all over, so staying on track isn't easy. He is knowledgeable, but doesn't know how to teach/work with students. You will make it but it'll be an extremely frosting semester (heavily curved!!)
Very difficult class to pass. You'll need to teach yourself the primary textbook material and Excel/Access hands on applications from the workbook. He spends class lecturing his self-made workbook of which is difficult to follow and impossible to review and study with. Generous grading curve obviously compensates for his ineffective teaching.
Worst professor I have ever had. An insane amount of work. All I can say is take this professor if youre ready for a ton of work our final was almost 100 questions hes a tough grader. He gave me a 1.9 in the class and then I took it with a different professor and a received a 3.7
He was by far the worst prof I've ever had!! Dropped the class after two weeks. He is not helpful what so ever and hates when you ask questions or seem confused. There are three confusing textbooks for the class. Im currently with another prof for this class and she also agrees that he's horrible.
The material isn't bad. What makes it bad how he "teaches" it. In class homework is impossible because its complex and timed on paper coding. Take Home work is hard on the basis that he just says "do it" without actually clarifying what he wants to be done, and it's your fault for if its wrong. Grading is very harsh.
This was one of the worst classes I have ever taken. Groups were created before class even began and you stuck with that group throughout the whole semester. For our final project, my group members dropped out 3 days before it was due. He also will post your emails publicly in group discussions. Nothing is clear. Book doesn't help.
He loves to put questions in his quizzes and exams from oddly specific things in the text book that you wont remember, but his tests/quizzes are open note, BUT if you take the time to search for the answers, you will not finish it in time. He also seems to expect you to know/do things without teaching them. Not the worst Ive ever had, but not great
Not the best professor, and I can honestly say I learned nothing In his class. The stuff you see on the exam and quizzes, he does not go over in class. When it comes to Access assignments, he doesnt not even give you to basic tools to progress. He expects you to know it off the top of your head. And classes averages on exams were pretty bad.
Dr. D makes you work hard in this class. All the bad reviews come from kids who didnt put in the work for this class. If you pay attention to lectures and study on your own you will do fine. Exams are hard but the curve is VERY GENEROUS. Dont be discouraged by the bad reviews. He is a good professor.
Prof has a very hard way of explaining what he means when teaching. His lectures are organized in a very confusing way. The course was set up in an overwhelming way and with lots of confusing information at each time. Quizzes are assigned every week and a group project (that is impossible) is assigned throughout the semester. Would not take this!!!
I am two weeks into this class and it is horrid. We have at least ten different things to read/watch each week, and then 4-6 assignments to go with it. This is only a three credit class and the work requires like 8-10 hours. The information is scattered everywhere and hard to find. The assignments are easy and the quizzes are extremely difficult.
I would not even call this man a teacher. He shows up to get his paycheck and that is it. I hope he reads these reviews and truly understand how his students feel about him. He is an absolute joke. Expect to spend no less than 15 hours a week preparing to still get d's on the assignments. Horrible. HORRIBLE. He should not be in this line of work.
We would have 3 quizzes a week along with 3 or 4 different assignments each week. It's a 3 credit and we are doing way more work than we should for a 3 credit class. He is less than helpful when you email him as well. Would not recommend him.
I just want the class to be over. The professor is horrible and confusing.
Dr. D only teaches this course and I had no choice to take him, but if given the opportunity I would never take his courses. They require all your time, he does not clarify anything even though he's "always an email away" and grades harshly. If in the future you have the opportunity to take someone else, do it. He's the hardest prof I've ever had.
Absolute worst professor I've ever had. Doesn't clarify anything and does not answer questions. Confusing lectures and incredibly difficult grading. I spent more time on this class than my 3 other classes combined. Pathetic excuse for a professor.
An excellent professor. Perhaps the BEST. Very knowledgeable.
This teacher is bias on students' performances and study attitudes. Honestly he is not helpful at all on his countless postings weekly and hard quizzes and exams. The only thing would be regretting if you take this class. Don't waste your time or money on it. Absolutely avoid it!
This class was by far the worst class I have ever taken. There is a quiz, take home assignment, and multiple in class assignments due every week. His grading scale does not make sense and his feedback is horrible. When the class average without a curve is an F, there is something wrong. Worst professor at OU.
This professor was very rude to students when they would ask questions in the forum. I made a genuine mistake in one of my assignments so I asked to re-submit and in a very condescending tone he told me no and to just pay better attention. His teaching method did not align with mine considering this is a tech class, I didn't feel like I learned.
He is a horrible professor. He does not care at all about watching his students succeed. He brags about having the class average final grade be a 64%. Class quizzes average a 30-45%. There is a curve for the class, but shouldn't the professor focus on helping students LEARN the material instead of curving everything? He also makes you feel dumb.
Never thought I'd care enough to rate a professor but he is terrible. You are not taught anything and you are expected to know everything there is to know about MIS. Take anyone but him for MIS 3000
If you ever see Mohammad D as your professor for a course...RUN. He grades so harshly, with little to no feedback, all I get is "watch lecture video again", I DID and I still get a 50% on quizzes. Class average for quizzes is usually no more than 45%. This course requires 8-10 hours weekly. He makes no sense. The worst professor I have had. 0/10.
Worst prof at OU and it is not even close. Class mid term average was below a 65, you spend all this time doing queries and working with ERDs but the exams are mostly made up of MC questions which are from a book he never once references during lectures. Will not work with you in terms of anything really and sucks and responding to emails quickly.
Dr. D was a terrible professor ! If I have the opportunity I will never ever take one of his classes again. He is very unclear on the feedback he gives and he always tells students he is here to help but is very condescending and sometimes borderline disrespectful towards students ! If you must take MIS3000 find a different prof and thank me later
This professor was very tough and the outline was not very clear.
Horrible horrible teacher do not ever take this man. His rating needs to go below 2.4
Do NOT take this professor. So many issues two weeks into the semester. Heavy on access and ERD plus, but timed quizzes are all MC and not related. Does not answer questions, just tells you to reread the material. RUN
Do not take him for MIS 3000. He makes this class unnecessarily hard, and is a very harsh grader. Class averages are so low it should be unacceptable. Not a good professor!
This professor made this class much more difficult than needed, especially hearing from people with other professors. Gives a lot of busy work activities, and a lot of his grading seems unfair at times, making it difficult to prepare for some tests. Id avoid this prof
To prevent this rating from being deleted, I'll keep it nondescriptive. Any word that could be used negatively can be used to describe this professor accurately. Rude, blatantly and unashamedly incorrect, and technologically behind, he should not be the field. He is a close-minded individual in an open-minded field that has advanced beyond him.
Extremely tough grader with no explanation why. Reachable outside class. Grades quickly. In class assignments are impossible. Assignments in classroom page are unorganized and difficult to find. Attendance mandatory. No patience if you get a question wrong.
The class in theory is easier because it is online. But when it comes to doing the work, it seems near impossible. After reading all the materials, watching all the lectures, using every resource provided and even using out of class resources, I still managed to not understand the materials very well. Lectures are from 2016(as seen on his lectures)
If you want to use youtube as your teacher, this is the right class you. You can read the lectures and readings, but when its time to take the quiz its completely different. If you ask for help he is 9 out of 10 times going to say it's in the reading, so little to no help. The worst professor I've had so far.
I honestly think this is the worst professor I have every had. Assigns a ridiculous amount of work each week and even if you read and watch every lecture, you still will be completely lost. He's extremely rude to students and doesn't care is you pass the class. He makes the class unnecessarily hard and his lectures are impossible to follow. AVOID!
This was genuinely the worst professor i've ever had. And the worst class I have ever taken. The class itself IS NOT hard. However, the layout makes zero sense. If you try to email him you'll either be met with no response or a snarky remark and no answer to your question. The grading also makes no sense with no clear explanations.
This is the WORST professor ever. Emphasizes that he's always an email away but doesn't answer questions or gives a snarky response. The textbook lectures have no correlation. He gave my group a database but said it was the wrong database, even though that is the one he told us to use all semester. Class average is around a 40%, PLEASE avoid.
I have never had a professor outwardly try to see students fail. He would have assignments that were due on Saturday get marked down if they weren't turned in on Thursday. He is extremely unhelpful and rude to students when they ask questions. He allows students to use moodle on exams except he makes his moodle unreadable and time consuming. AWFUL
On an excel assignment I had made one mistake by adding A COMMA and he graded me a 50% so that I would “never make that mistake again”. He is unforgiving and relentlessly rude to his students. He moved our homework assignments to in-class timed assignments. This took away our chance at a higher grade and much more difficult to complete the work.
He was genuinely one of the rudest professors I've ever had. I would ask him to look over our group project more than 5 times and he would give us edits for things that were already included, but skip out on helping us fix any mistakes. He would make up rules in his head and forget to tell the students what they were. Save yourselves and don't take
His class is extremely tough, but he is very kind and helpful in answering our questions. I had felt depressed several times, felt depressed about my performance, and even questioned my intelligence in this class. I genuinely believe there is still room to improve the lecture and help students ease into this course.
