very clear and concise, wants to help you if you are willing to help yourself
the most intelligent brain in UNBSJ
Smart, but not as smart as HE thinks he is. Ego like Martha Stewart!

best prof I had
tells it like it is. no bull**** from this guy.
Big ego. Willing to help you out. Drinks herbal tea in class.
Great prof! Nice guy, too! He's always willing to help you out. Great smile.....
fast and furious, but extremely intelligent and logical..
The only Biz prof here who helped me out in over2 years with my course problems.
he has bad office hours.. but he's fair and knows that he's talking about
He is genius, people who fail in his class must be DUD. He is the best in UNB.
WAY TOO FAST!!!
If he doesn't like you....Watch out
unapproachable, yet teaches well
explains things clearly, good prof

He is a nice guy and so cool. If you really wanna learn something, please choose him.
he's an amazing teacher, but if u get on his bad side then i don't think u'll pass. DO NOT MISS ANY OF HIS CLASSES. he will remember u and hunt u down:)!!
VERY ARAGENT....a know it all
Very challenging tests... Makes you feel kinda dumb if you ask a question in class. NO LATE ASSIGNMENTS!! He goes a little wild on the chalk board... numbers all over the place.. confusing!
informative
He seems to be an okay man when he isn't insulting the class, and making arrogent comments to put people down. He is not an easy man to go to if you have any problems, and has very challenging tests.
good prof.
Teaches really well ..... but the rumour about him remembering u if u miss classes is true.... if u dont get on his bad side, the course should be a breeze
He is an awesome prof.Explains everything really well and is always willing to help if your serious in wanting the help. His test are tough but very fair and he is just a great guy all around!!!!!definatly take this class from him!

Always explains things well, but does make you feel like an idiot at times. Oveall (despite the obvious arrogance) he teaches extremly well.
Excellent prof.Fair.Knowledgable.Approachable Concise.Excellent examples. Highly reccommend. Takes the "scarey" out of math.
VERY hard tests, but hes very helpful and approachable for extra help (if hes there) and he gives great examples. Its just a challenging course all round but hes an ok proff to have
Writes wild on the board, be prepared to take notes. Very helpful fair tests
Fair tests, does write wild on the board...so be prepared to take tons of notes. Class in general has some difficult topics, but Hamdan does try and make it as clear as possible.
Really good prof, if you care enough to go to class and put an effort in he will help you in any way he can. He remembers everyone so if you miss class expect to be asked about it. Great at explaining things so you understand.
Well... If you care about math, you'd better go for his course. If you care about anything else... forget about it. Don't miss his classes, do your homeworks and don't argue over "unfaire" tests. He has a special standards about them and that's
He made the course easier by explaining on how to get the formulas instead of just telling us to memorize them. Really wild in writing, killer tests but very helpful in anyway. Try not to miss his classes because some of the exam questions are similar to his examples in the class.
hamdan thinks that he is smart and pushes how smart he is on everyone else. maybe he should realize that not everyone is a math god
Nice Guy but is a little on the bitter side.
If you suspect Math is going to be a difficult subject for you - this is the professor you want. Willing to help outside of class as much as necessary. Really wants his students to do well. Difficult but fair tests and exams.
excellent professor! nice and kindly.
Hamdog is wonderful.. He's so interesting and the best math prof you will find around here. He makes sure everythign is clear and is always there for extra help. His exam is crazy though..
soooo nice and really funny in a weird sorta way.hes a great prof and explains things so clearly.he writes alot on the board and goes a little fast but enough to keep up.easy midterms and for the final he gave us a review exam to take home and then ended up giving it to us on the final. tres nice
very clear, concise explanations. willing to explain over and over again...lots of examples...does things quickly...tests very fair, over-all really enjoy this class...advice don't be stupid by skippin' classes. really great prof. knows his stuff and likes what he's doing.
One of the best prof ever
EXCELLENT PROF. Would take every course possible with him. Extremely helpful and clear. Keeps the course interesting
He is an excellent Prof. he is a mathematical genius. HE is very clear in his explanations and very fair on assignments. His tests can be a little misleading and difficult, but fair. Assignments must be ON TIME or forget about it! Watch for when he starts writing with both hands at the same time, its crazy!
i think the man is a genius, he writes on the board with no notes and goes on forever. His midterms are fairly easy if you know the material.
Excellent professor. He explains hard topics clearly.
The greatest prof ever!
one excellent prof. in UNB, explaining the prob. clearly
Content explained clearly (albeit a bit quickly at times), useful examples given. My only qualm is his inconsistency with answering questions - sometimes WONDERFUL, other times he feels the need to make a fool out of you. Unfortunate as he is very brilliant and could really help people who were uncomfortable with math.
He is a pretty good teacher but moves really really fast. He doesn't use a textbook either which can be annoying. His tests are fairly hard, but he usually scales marks in the end, so don't panic. He isn't around much for extra help and can be pretty slack and forgetgul. Overall, he's pretty good though.
Dr.Hamdan could not have cared more deeply about his students success in his class and in life. He's approachable and kind, always making time and always giving an encourging word.I consider myself lucky to have been in his class, learning not only math but what it truly means to be a teacher. With an open mind you truly can learn anything. Thanks Dr.H
Dr. Hamdan is an excellent prof!! I was terrified to take this class which was mandatory for my degree because I have never been good at mathematics. (Even failed it in high school). Dr. Hamdan explained difficult concepts so well and offered extra office hours before every class to anyone who wished. this class was a great experience!!

Great. One fault is he is quiet, sit in front row, he is interesting and speaks well. Good stories and will help you a lot. He embarrasses people who disrupt class, and they deserve it. Too smart for this course, Do your work, follow along and you will do very well.
Go to his class and do the assignments. Rest is easy.
Most humorous professor ever. Hamdan is a hoot. Highly recommended.
Genius and down to earth. He is fair and will give you credit for partly solved problems. Attendance is key to pass the class.
He is a very smart professor, but difficult to understand and a very hard maker. No part marks. He also moves very fast through the material, so have some calc background.
THE BEST MATH PROF AT UNB. Period. Amazing man. He is very smart and knows his stuff, though he does make you write a lot of notes (most test questions are from the notes though). He is clear when he explains and expects you to understand the "why". You must show up to class (takes attendance) and participate. Tests are fair, as is the final exam.
intelligent prof, passionate about his work, great storyteller and he is fair.
This individual is the least mediocre man on this planet. Super helpful, nice and an overall good time. Also has best math jokes on the campus!
What an amazing man! It was a privilege to have been able to take two classes with Dr. Hamdan. He is an absolute gem and my favourite professor at UNBSJ. Knows his material, is always willing to help and has some of the best math jokes ever! Work hard, pay attention in class and you will learn so much. Midterms and finals are very fair aswell!
Best math prof ever, it's a gift to even be in the same room!
he is just amazing ... attended classes but didn't really study hard and i got A- ... if i actually studied i would have had an A+ in a blink of an eye. Awesome prof!!
It has been a privilege to study under Dr. Hamdan. While he may come off as being a little cold during the first few weeks of the semester, do keep in mind that he does wish to see you succeed. If you apply yourself, complete all required work, and maintain a perfect attendance (or at least notify him when you're going to be absent), you will pass.
Introduces new topics and expects you to grasp them like its 2+2. Very difficult prof. Studied for HOURS and got a 50% on midterm. Might work for some but he was not the right prof for me. Had to take the "W" and withdraw.
awesome on so many levels !!!!
Took this course as it was manditory. Hallirous man, extremely smart. If only he could understand the difficulty some students have with math, expects students to understand immediately. Does not give partial points, may be because of student graders. He could be a very effective prof, if only he could understand math isn't everybody's strong suit.
a misunderstood genius ?!
Although he was harder than some and went extremely fast, he was a great prof. He cares about his students and that they succeed. He knows everyone's name (that he teaches). He is very willing to sit with you and help you out if you need it, even as far as doing hard questions on the assignments with you. Overall I would take him again.
Mo is an awesome teacher. He is always willing to give extra help and give you resources to help you succeed. He's extremely smart. He's helped me with multiple math courses that he doesn't even teach. He gives you a final mark that you deserve.
I had a miserable experience with this professor. Tests were brutally long and extremely hard. He had a ta mark all the assignments and the ta was insanely hard. Marks were taken off for the dumbest things.
Mo is great. It is clear he genuinely cares about student success. BUT can be tough when necessary. He is strict on his personal rules and that's totally fine. TA marking is questionable, but when Mo marks he is generous with points. He wants to do everything he can to ensure your success.
Had high hopes for him after reading the reviews on here. Worst prof Ive ever had. If we asked questions he would get mad. Explains everything super super fast and you dont have time to understand anything. I heard he changed this term (Fall 2019) than other terms so idk
Dr. Hamdan is by far my favorite prof. He wants everyone to succeed and do well in his courses. He is very fair when it comes to grading. I've taken about 2 courses with him but he has helped me with almost all my math electives (over 10 classes). He is always willing to help no matter what course you need help with. He is very respected at UNBSJ.
Took his course in the summer term at night, online because of COVID. Midterm and exam were pretty easy and I think he set it up that way because of unfamiliarity with online teaching. Super nice and provided actually coherent feedback on assignments rather than just posting solutions.
At least for MATH1503, his class was harder than the other prof's class, but I think we went more in depth and really allowed you to understand the material. Make sure you attend all the lectures!
It's meaningless to make this course inappropriately difficult. Something in his exams reminded me of the Chinese exams. He just wrote down anything without explanation. He can make MATH 1503 : Intr Lin Alg the hardest course for engineering stus. Many people failed in his section, while nearly all the people can get A/A+ in another prof's section.
Very good professor and is very accessible. Gives a good insight into financial mathematics.
Dr. Hamdan seems very intimidating at first, his lectures go very in-depth on the material and since he writes on the board it's important that you attend each lecture. He's very helpful during office hours, and very fair (even generous) with final grades. Even if you think you'll fail the exam, don't just leave it blank. Your effort is rewarded.
Starting off I was warned about Hamdan by many students, and he seemed terrifying at first. He is strict but reasonably strict. Go to every lecture and you will do fine, I learned much more in his class compared to others. The amount of depth he goes into and the examples are very insightful. Go to his office hours if you get stuck.Would take again
