Real cool teacher and fun class. I thought this class would be hard but it's really not. He goes over everything in class, and you can do the hw to understand better. You can use a cheet sheet for the first 2 tests, and the final is open notes and book. What else can you ask for. It's an easy A. Im actually looking forward to taking 222.

I can't really understand why so many people didn't like this class. If you show up, take good notes, and do the assigned homework this class is not hard at all. Everyone that did poorly in my class missed multiple sessions and didn't do the homework. Prof. Jamal is a great teacher and totally willing to help if you have a problem.

I just took his class and received an A. The people who failed, are the people who doesn't do homework, doesnt come too class and doesnt study. I beleive that his class is good.. And his teaching delivery was good also. He is also available to help you during office hours. Please do not allow lazy students too deter you from his class...

He was an awesome professor. Most people who failed didnt pay any attention in class, and didnt do homework. He is a fair grader, even once i got numbers mixed up and he still gave me credit. I got an A, and I am very anxious to take 222

I got D the first time and got A second time but all was my fault. I will say this professor is fair and very smart. If you attend all his class you will get grade also final exam is open book and open not. So if you fail his class not his fault change your major

He is an excellent instructor. His exams are easy if you do homeworks. He allows cheat sheet for first 2 tests, final is open book. I am looking forward to take him for part 2 as well.

The guy gives 2 open note tests and then his final is open everything. He does count attendance and gives a project, but if you do the HW you should ace this class. He is also very helpful and he answered all my emails within 24 hours. I HATE stats, but I have one more I must take, it'll be with him

Show up to class and do the homework, this class can be very easy. He is open to questions during the homework but does not tolerate laziness. He will yell at you if you ask a question in the middle of a lesson if it was covered a couple weeks ago. But overall I liked the class, I received an A without too much strain. Best stats professor at NOVA

Great Prof! He enjoys the subject. You can't slack in stat no matter who you take! I recommend you take the notes/understand them.. review before the exam even if its open note or cheat sheet and do assignment and you will pass! I like him because he TEACHES & doesn't tell meanless stories that have nothing to do w/class!BTW I ended up with a A.

I took BUS221 & BUS222 with him. He is a great professor and have very good knowledge about statistics. He is also very helpful. BUS222 is not a easy class, so take it only if you're serious. All you have to do is go to every class, do the homework and understand the material you will do well. Two exams open book and notes, but you have to know.

Took both 221&222 with Prof Jamal. He is an incredible person. Ask lots of questions, his teaching is through doing, so you will go through some case studies and group work,which helps a lot. 222 was packed with new stuff, 221 is easy A, if you can't get A in 221, I feel sorry for you. Highly recommend this prof. GREAT TEXTBOOK & GREAT SUPPLEMENT!

To add to my comments below (cuz RMP won't go over 350 characters!). Textbook helps alot, in fact, when you don't get the lecture, read the chapters. I will definitely need it for review with the Ops Management class @ Mason (which almost all Busi. Majors must take). Exams are OPEN NOTES-Not always easy. There are2 ways to learn stat Do HW+READ!

This professor is awesome but you have to attend class and do your homeworkd, you will be lost if you don't. He lets use a full sheet of paper front and back on all exams even the final. If you are a business major and serious about your craft he is the man !

Good teacher although hard to understand at times, BUS 221 is very easy compared to BUS 222 tho, i got a B in 221 and barely tried, 222 on the other hand i pulled out a C but had to work much harder, open notes for all tests tho helps out a ton, good dude i would recommend taking him!

While I'm navigating my SOM classes at Mason I'm coming to appreciate Prof. Jamal Mohammed more than I thought possible. I took him for Bus Stats I/II and was amazed by him. He really helped me break through my math barrier. You must do the hw so you can ask the right questions. It's very obvious in class who's done the hw by the questions asked.

Prof. Jamal is a great teacher, very helpful and detailed. His teaching style is through doing. To help his students get a good grade, he gives extra case studies and extra credits for doing HW and attendance. His grading is very Fair. Highly recommend him.

He is the best teacher I have this semester (out of 3). He lectures slowly and clearly. He doesn't chose very difficult material. Exams are relatively easy. Group studies are fun and easy. You don't need the textbook--e-book is included with WileyPlus homework (access is $95) If he offers a 7:30 p.m. class in Fall I will score him 5 for helpfulness

He explains this fairly complicated material in a way that 4th graders could understand. Like others said, DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Preferably same day after class so you really get the material down. Excellent professor that made me understand stat in a way I never really could in high school.

I found his final exam little confusing (wording was very confusing) but overall he is a great professor. He allows you to bring notes and you can write the whole lecture down.

Professor Jamal explains clearly. He assign online homework from each chapter. If you complete them right after class, they should not be difficult. There are two midterms and one final exam. He allows cheat sheet for all of his tests. No need to buy a hard copy of the text book. I will take him for the second part of the stat course.

The guy covers very much everything in class, allows cheat sheet for tests. Homework is easy if you take good notes, and attempt them shortly after the class. He gives extra credit for coming to the class regularly. Don't need to buy a text book, eBook is cheaper and sufficient to get a good grade. I will recommend him.

Professor Jamal makes sure that the class understands the concepts. His way of teaching is clear and precise. He's open to questions when you don't understand and takes time to explain. He has office hours available for students. Be ready for lots of homework. The exams are not easy but fair because everything is covered in class.

This was in-person BUS224 course. Mr. Jamal clearly communicates concepts, provides lots of example exercises, online homework is manageable and relevant to what he covers in class. Exams are not easy, but he allows 1 pg of notes. Hands down one of the best courses I've taken at NVCC.

- Lectures the whole class & uses the whiteboards - Allows a sheet of paper with formulas, etc. for the tests (front & back) - Extra credit for attendance & homework He is very passionate about Statistics and can get loud at times (not bad, just precatutionary). He has no problem explaining something again if you ask.

He doesn't use powerpoints for notes. He prints out all of the notes that you will take in class and writes them on the whiteboard for you to copy. The class is based on a points system. If you don't miss any classes except for 2, then he will give you the full 10 participation points. The 3 group cases are easy and each are easy 5 points to earn.

He is my favorite professor at Nova. I thought this class was going to be hard. But, it turned out quite manageable. He posts very much everything in the blackboard. Three tests, and weekly assignments. Do the assignments - you will do well. I plan to take him again at Mason.

Solid choice. Took him in the Fall 2017. Stats concepts can be difficult but excel does all of the work for you. In lecture you do problems in class and he posts them on blackboard with solutions. THIS IS YOUR EXAM pretty much. Exams are open book so u can look back at the solutions to make sure u put the right formulas. Easy online HW.

3 exams, all open book. This class is all done on Excel. He has patience with people who are new to Excel. You do problems in class and solutions are posted online. Exams are JUST like practice probs. Its open book, so use it! You will need to purchase My stat lab and It lab, both $75 bucks. You NEED LAPTOP for class. Take him, youre in good hands.

He posts the HW for all of the chapters for the MyITLab all at once. Save $75 and do all of the HW in the 2-week free trial. There are 2 take-home assignments and 3 exams. We would've had 3 take-home assignments but there were snow days. The 3rd exam is the final exam. Make sure you know how to do the in-class problems and you should be fine.

His class is basically working on excel. You will buy a code for online website homework and make sure you have the latest version of Microsoft Excel. He explains everything and he uses whiteboards, and you don't need a book. His tests are exactly what he thought in class and some tests he might let you do it at home. take him you won't regret.

This class is 10/10 take again, I took it over the summer and learned so much from this class. It was all on excel, you take notes the first part of class and then do practice problems the rest of class. The exams are super similar to the in class problems, just understand concepts. The tests do take hours to take but they are take home

Are u familiar with Excel ? If nt, u will have to work for your grade. If u are a Business major, you NEED to take this class with him. He's knowledgeable + uses real-life examples so we can clearly absorb the material. Let him finish his lecture before asking questions! You'll need to purchase Mystatlab. 10xtra points for attendance. Knock it out!

Professor Jamal is an excellent instructor who teaches statistics using Excel. He was the professor who brought this class to NOVA and was nominated teacher of the year at George Mason University. He explains the problems and provides files with the solutions to in class problems, which enables the student to understand the statistical concepts.

Despite switching to remote learning, it was easy to get an A in this class. He is a really good professor. Just go through his modules on Canvas. The modules are exactly what comes in the exam. Put in a little effort from your side and you get an A. Quickly replies to e-mails. He's caring, amazing, determined and hard-working. Take him!!

I took Prof. Jamal for BUS224 (business statistics) and he is a real gem of a teacher. In my 30+ online credits at NVCC there has been no other teacher who had provided lectures or notes that they themselves had created. This dude really cares about the success of his students. A great teacher makes for an easy class and a good grade.

Prof Jamal shows his passion for business in his great lectures. He has a bit of an accent which makes it sometimes hard to understand but he repeats several times. No hw, 3 case study, 1 mid & 1 final. This class can be an easy A if you study the slides he posts, and participate in the class discussions. If you need his help ask, highly recommend.

Great Professor! He creates videos that helps you follow along with the assignments, and the exams and quizzes are always exactly what he does in the videos! Take him! But make sure you watch the videos before asking him questions because he will often refer you to the video, and I never had any questions after following along with said video.

He was very informed on business and answered every question you had very clearly. Many real world examples were used which made information even easier to understand. There was minimal homework except for discussions and case studies. Quizzes and tests were not surprising, and grades were well reflected. Great teacher for business majors

One assignment on Wednesdays and then a quiz+Hw due Sundays. To do assignment watch his tutorial videos on canvas and the quiz+HW are unlimited try's and mc so basically guessing every answer choice and you'll still get a 100. VERY test heavy since theres only 3 but watch all vids under his "Preparing for Exam 1/2/3" and you'll do really good. EZ A

At first it seems difficult, but if you take the time to watch his online videos on 2x and follow during practice, then you should be fine. His class wasn't that hard and he's not a tough grader. Just put in the minimum effort to complete his assignments as it features "check my work," so you should be able to get 100% on each assignments.

I had the pleasure of taking Professor Jamal's class in the summer. The homework on Cengage is easy and you are given unlimited chances, so there's no excuse for getting less than 100. Quizzes allow for numerous attempts, and all tests were open-book. If you watch his videos you should pass the class with ease. Take his class you won't regret it.

Professor Jamal is an excellent teacher to take for business. His lectures are clear, and he provides a lot of learning resources in his modules. He is kind, easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable. One homework was assigned once a week due on Sunday. He had three tests, and they were all very easy if you study his posted material. Loved his class!

Professor Jamal was great! I am so thankful I chose him!! He made statistics look easy like a breeze. I would 100% recommend him, his exams are a lot like the homework. He also answers to the emails pretty quick, which helped me understand the material more clearly.

I'm very thankful I took this class with him, I truly don't think I could've passed without him. Homework assignments on Cengage are incredibly easy, three exams that account for 60% of your grade, a few case studies, and one group project. I took the accelerated 6 week version and he was a great choice for a professor, just put in a little work.

Homework and quizzes are relatively easy, he provides helpful videos in case you get stuck on certain problems on Canvas. Tests were online on Canvas and open notes. There is one group project that is completed near the end of the course but is easy. Took this during summer 2023, so it might be different from regular fall and spring semesters.

He was a good professor. His class was easy, but his accent was very strong and I had problems understanding sometime.

Everything you will be tested on comes straight from his lectures and homework. Additionally, exams (at least in-person) are open book and open notes, there is zero reason to get less than an A in his class; he posts prior lectures if you miss class! In all, this is a test-heavy class, but he's a great professor and will help you ace the exams.

Although I took an accelerated course, I never felt that I was being overwhelmed with work. Professor Jamal obviously cares for his students and wants each one to pass. His lectures are easy to follow, and he provides practical study guides to help prepare for the exams. A cheat sheet was allowed during exams BTW.

Professor Jamal is an excellent professor. His class was quite stress-free. even though I only had him for a brief semester over the summer, the workload was manageable. His exams and homework are very similar to the class lectures. I could have gotten an A if not for my family's hardship during the class period.I strongly recommend him for Bus125.

There's about one assignment per week which is what we discussed in the lecture, a couple of case studies, and a few exams which aren't difficult. If you pay attention and show up to the lectures you will be fine. He doesn't have a syllabus which bothered me at first but overall he's super chill and appreciates when people participate in class.

I really enjoyed coming to class, he really likes to answer any questions you have and gives you the best feedback on assignments. Also if you need any life advice ask him as he has a lot of experience.

I took him for BUS 100 and I'm now taking him for 224. He is very clear about expectations and the content on the tests is directly from the lectures. If you miss a lecture, he makes it easy to catch up as he has videos recorded of all modules. As long as you pay attention and participate in his classes, you will succeed. Great professor!

He is a very respected professor. One tip: don't show up to class late, because it can be hard to catch up. His exams are very easy as long as you keep up with the homework. If you stay responsible and do the work, you will do great in his class.

I took BUS 125 with Professor Jamal. He is highly professional, knowledgeable & genuinely cares about the success of his students. Homework assignments are key to mastering the material.
