Great teacher! He comes off very tough in the beginning, but as time goes on he lightens up. You really have to pay attention in his class, or you will be lost. He cares about his students and will be helpful. My advice is take this professor. He really helps with people who are bad in math.

Well, not much to say here but this man knows what he is doing. he makes you study and learn, you have to study to pass, otherwise you will come here and say he is not good. you can ask the dept. and many students, just ask the ones they passed not failed. i like him and he is very understanding. very helpful , i highly recommend.

This teacher is one of the best in CSI. His test are not very hard but you need to do the homework to pass his test. The homework is not mandatory but sometimes he will collect it just to check who is doing it.attendence is not mandatory but you need to be there to understand the material although he will resay his previous lesson on the next day.

He can help you with anything from physics to electrical engineering..really interesting...explains everything nice and slow...a slow person can pass if they show up and listen. He is really good on after school help. i got an A...and it felt like i didnt even have to work for it. questions encouraged, tutoring encouraged, rarely uses book. genius.

he is a great teacher, will always help; however when he grades the tests sometimes he can be crule and - alot of points. its not an easy class because it he give HW and web work. the web work is very important i got a B+ just because i didnt do all the web work. i was soo shocked, i thought i would get an A. He was hands down the best teacher I have ever had. He made class interesting and fun. I took a Saturday class and the 4 hours flew by. He was interesting and really willing to help. Professor Talafha breaks all the rules: he is brilliant, yet able to communicate math on the most basic level. He uses humor as a teaching tool instead of berating students as many other math professors do. And, here is a prof who actually helps female math students as well as male math students. He is kind, generous with time, a star.

Prof. Talafha is a best prof i've ever had at csi. He cares about his students and motivates students to learn. YOu def learn math in his class and have fun at the same time. Hws and web work count so do them!!. He always welcome students to come to his tutoring hours. His tests are easy and fair.

Mr. Talafha is the man. I had him for Precalculus during my senior year in high school. Really didn't work that hard and got a B in the class. After graduating, I saw Mr. Talafha around CSI and I told him I was struggling in Calculus and he really helped me out alot. He really taught me how to study for any math or science class. He is a great guy.

If you aren't taking this guy you're missing out on the best CSI has to offer. Took him in MTH 123 and 130, and I'll take him again next semester. He's so good, that I look forward to his class. and it's math. You need to transfer if you have any other professor, seriously.

Dont be fooled, this professor is tough but is extremely helpful.You WILL learn the topic. But he is not afraid to fail you. His tests are average to hard but study and you'll do fine. He usually gives you the formulas

Great Man who truly cares about his students success. He helped me pass the Compass tests and has probably helped thousands of others. He has four degrees and a Doctorate, and could be doing a lot more but instead he chooses to help young people learn math and pass the college math entrance exams. I have tons of respect for him. He is not fair grader at all!!! I went to his office hours, did all my homework, literally slept in tutoring room and still got only B!!! I never missed his class nor I was late. He will mess up your GPA if he doesn't like you or God forbid you are not super good in math. If you are excellent in math take him!

Awesome professor! He makes jokes and all, but he is serious about the work (which means, that if you are not too good in math, you have to study hard). He goes through all the work quick, but explains really well, and if you don't understand something, he will go over it until you do :)

A great professor. He may joke alot but he is actually more of a strict professor than a funny person. He has no tolerance for low grades but he wants everyone to pass. One of the best professors Ive had at CSI. He makes class time interesting and he encourages the students to ask questions. He reviews for tests, so you don't walk in on test day unprepared. He truly made precalculus interesting and manageable (as long as you review your notes and pay attention in class).

This is the best math professor i have ever had in my entire life! If math is not your stong subject,TAKE THIS PROFESSOR !Take it from me I took 020 twice and finally passed then i took 030 with him and my lowest test grade was an 85. I had him for a College Now precalc class 5 yrs ago with a few friends. One of the most memorable classes. He is passionate about math, learning, and teaching. Not only is he enthusiastic about the subject, the man is brilliant. He has like 6 degrees (in engineering, physics etc) and has a very sharp mind. CSI is lucky to have him as a professor!

Well what can I say about Talafha, he's a great guy. Extremely helpful and wants to see his students pass. Willing to help but you need to ask for help. Honestly he is quite an inspiration.

Took Talafha (Mat 123) over the Winter semester and it was HARD! The class itself involved a lot of topics. Exams required MANDATORY long study hours! His teaching was awesome though! Has serious, fun, and joking moments. Lots of HW that counts toward your grade. Got an A in the class! Great professor but make sure to STUDY!

He is very funny and nice which makes the class more enjoyable. His exams are tough as well as his quizzes. Don't expect to pass if you don't study. The textbook is not as required as he stress it does. Online HW's are tough but its not his fault because he doesn't make them.

I took the class over the winter, everyday in a math class until near 10 p.m. is a recipe for failure. BUTTTTTT! This guy is the best math professor I've had. He's extremely thorough, and is also HILARIOUS, which keeps the class light. He gives a multitude of examples for each topic. Take the class, pay attention, study a bit, and your good!

EASILY one of the best professors CSI has to offer. Lectures are super helpful and although calc is no cake walk, Talafha makes sure not to skip steps in order for everyone to be on the same page. The fact that he's unbelievably funny makes this class that much better! Made me love math like never before and will definitely miss his lectures.

You have not experinced any math course unless you experienced a semester with Talafha. Good luck on trying to get an over-tally, he only gives one person a chance per semester. I have never been good at math, but this professor will make sure you understand the criteria. Hes straight to the point and explains the lesson carefully and if you're having trouble he will come by and help you with no problem. Hes also really funny.

I've always struggled with math but this professor inspired me so much that added math as a minor. If you pay attention in class, you will do great. His exams are based on lecture. Wish I could take him for calc 2 and 3 too.

Take him. Was it easy no? But Talafha explains everything clear and concise. Those who failed simply did not try hard enough. Key to sucess is to do the homework and review the notes daily. His tests are not impossible and only seem hard if you try and cram the day before the test. Matlab is another story.

I took MTH130 in the winter and Talafha was able to cover basically all of the material in such a short amount of time and made sure that every student was on the same page before moving forward. such an amazing prof. Loved his class.

Prof Talafha has been teaching at CSI since 2001. CSI somehow should make a carbon copy of him and let them all teach the various math courses at the college. He is truly a GEM. He cuts all the fluff, gets to the meat, and explains everything in solid detail step by step. Three exams (60% of grade), final (30%), HW (10%).

Calc I is not easy but this man makes it into a joke. I feel that i can teach calculus after taking his course. Break everything down and makes you actually love math. Caring prof who is also hilarious. Goes above and beyond for his students. He doesnt have to do all the baby steps (algebra) but he still does for everyone's own good. Best prof ever

BEST TEACHER EVER! His tests are literally everything we learn in class he's not there to trick study and its an easy A. He does give a review before tests and they help as well. Webassign is annoying but its 10% of grade. I def recommend him and would def take again if i had the chance! TAKE HIM you won't regret it.

Ok, so Talafha is incredible, one of the best professors at CSI! He makes math easy and makes sure all his students understand the material. He is accessible outside class so take advantage of his office hours if you have any questions. He also gives extra points when you participate. Bonus, he jokes to lighten the mood. Highly recommend!

I never thought I would actually get an A in this class. I absolutely suck at math but he breaks everything down where you can actually understand it. I didnt even have to go to tutoring. his notes are clear and he is willing to help 100%. very approachable, very fair. 3 tests a final and online hw. Honestly the best professor ive had so far

Professor Talafha is one of the best math professors I have ever taken. The only annoying thing is the homework on webwork. He is funny and generally cares for his students. He will even take time to explain the simple algebra to students who are lost. Gives extra points on exams for participation. He makes Calc look so easy.

if you like to earn your grade, take him. because you have to do some work. he's good in the lecture. take him.

The best professor at CSI. If you go to class there is no way you will fail or even get a bad grade. He covers everything , literally everything!!! easy A+

I love him. He does expect you to know basic algebra, so beware of that. A lot of hw, hw is harder than the test. His test are extremely fair and its on everything he goes over in class.

Tests are hard, no review sheet. Doing your homework will not make u pass. doesnt curve

He is one of my favorite teachers. He made every class fun and always had a positive attitude. Some people will say he is a hard teacher, but all you have to do is pay attention, go over your notes, and ask questions. I would 100% take this class again because he was such a great teacher.

I had him 2 semesters in a row, first for pre-cal and then for calc. Both classes he was incredible. He is able to reach every student if you just pay attention. He makes every class lively and fun while still covering the material. If you have any questions about homework, he will go over any questions the beginning of class. Amazing professor!

I took MTH123 with another professor and had to drop the class since it was so awful. If you can take an online course with this professor, I highly suggest you do so. Im not the best at math but he made it easier to understand and you have your notes for the tests.

30% final, 20% test 1, 20% test 2, 30% projects(10 in total). He will explain how to do 98% of the projects during our lecture time. Tests and final were taken from the projects but worded a little differently. If you pay attention in class and follow with him in MATLAB then its an A. People who are complaining just want an easyA with no effort.

Surprisingly nice guy when communicating with him through emails. I am taking Precalculus during the winter with him and he's great.

If you have him as a math teacher, you will be fine. He teaches great, he jokes a lot in class, and seems like a good professor. Please try to participate at least a few times and MAKE SURE YOU ARE THERE, HE WILL MARK U LATE IF U DON'T RESPOND TO HIM WHEN HE GETS ATTENDANCE. Tough grader because there is no re-do. Your grade is mostly exams.

The class depends mainly on exams but exams are fair and there is no challenging question, all questions from the notes. His lectures are amazing, he made the subject easier with his teaching skills. He gives extra credits for participation and answers quickly through email. He is a respected, great professor.

Super caring and kind professor! 100% recommend this professor if you struggle with math, he is extremely patient and will guide you through the problem until you understand. I wish he were my professor for every class :-)

Honestly one of the best math professors I have ever had, he made sure everyone understands what was going on and made the class fun a the same time. He explains everything in the best way and shows at least three other methods to help you understand it, and I just wish he can be my professor for future math classes.

I was never good at math but Prof. Talafha made Calc 1 very manageable. He does give a lot of homework, however, it is only for your benefit because if you do all of the homework on your own without external resources and understand it, you'll do very well. Write down all of his notes, do all the homework, and participate a lot and you'll be fine!

if you are struggling in math like I was I would definitely recommend him, he is great and breaks down material very well. If you have questions he will go over it till you understand it. He has to be the best math teacher I've ever taken!

Best teacher i have ever had for math, if you are taking notes and studying them before each test you are almost guaranteed to do well. participate often, will add points to your tests if he sees that you are activly participating in his class.

Prof Talafha is the best math teacher I've had. Lectures are really fun w/ his jokes & he's really good at breaking down material. tests are exactly like the notes, no surprises. I was so bad at math but I am finally doing well. I'd recommend taking him if you are terrible at math and hate it, bc he will make you like it. He shows a lot of care.

I enjoyed going to my MTH 123 class. Professor Mohammad makes math easy, he is funny and very encouraging, I would definitely take him again. His grades are based on two things only, Exams and homework. Three exams worth 20% each, Final worth 30%, and homework work 10% HOWEVER he is very generous and gives extra credit for participation!

He's so awesome and cool. I hated math until I took his class. Finally, I get what's going on. I want to take a harder math class with him even though I don't need to. It's genuinely because it's so easy to learn from him. He's fun to listen to; he's so funny. His lectures are super helpful and he clearly knows his content. Wish I could write more!

He is an amazing teacher. Participation matters a LOT in this class, as long as you participate and he sees that you are trying, you will benefit from that through extra points on the tests. He is very funny and respectful to every student. The homework was online and it really helped with the tests. I would definitely take Talafha in my next math.

I took him for the 2nd time for a harder class & I don't regret it. He really cares about your success and will not fail you if he sees you're trying and you show up and participate. He's very funny and makes math feel interesting no matter how much you hated it in high school. I hope to take him again in the future, despite not being a math major

One of the best math professors around. Engaging lectures, fair grading, and a genuine interest in student success. Definitely use unstuck study and the free textbook - they're super helpful for staying on top of the material.

Does not ever make you feel like self-studying, using AI or anything. Never feel lost, there's no such thing as feeling lost with Prof Talafha. Shows respect to his work, student does not leave the class without understanding or feeling like failing. No matter what I say it will not be enough for this respectful professor.

Explains every topic clearly. His tests are based on examples in homework and class, and he grades fairly. Participate in class and he will give you extra points.

Very Exceptional professor I made a mistake when I didn't take him for math 130 now, I got some phony teacher teaching me. I definitely recommend taking him for any math class he teaches the material very simple and doesn't overcomplicate anything. He's one of the best options for taking math

If you want a great math professor, then this radical cool professor is the one. Always helpful, ready to help anyone, and gives good feedback. And to top it off, he always explains in full detail on how to solve the problem to not make it confusing, unlike some math professors. Definitely take him if you want to pass and get a great grade.
