Makes you somewhat scared to ask questions...nice guy though with a sense of humor but quick to tell you your answer is not only wrong but you're dumb for thinking that was the answer! If you're good in math...take him, he's fun!
He explains math procedures fairly well, but he is quick to put students down and make them feel inferior. He is actually nicer than he comes across in class. If you are having trouble, go see him in his office outside of class. He's an OK Professor.
Great sense of humor andhe is willing to help you outside of class if you just ask he will be there. Made calc. eaiser for me.
He's been my worse math teacher. Sure does like to make you feel dumb. Has very nasty attitude and whenever I came in to ask a question he would answer: what do you want! Im a junior right now in college and he has been my only B out of straight A's.

Great guy, I'm sure. Pittiful teacher. If you can get pass his accent and his disrespect of students, you'll find a hard tough teacher. His class lecture is very boring as if he doesn't have a passion to be there. But he tries.
I took his class for about three weeks but had to get out. He moves really fast and I dont feel like he explained everything very well.
It should be noted that if the professor likes you, then you stand a chance of him treating you like it. Otherwise his patience is very thin. His accent is difficult to acclimate to. I think that he likes the students that actually apply themselves....

Mr. Aslam is the****. I like this guy, if you are a lazy ass you will fail. If you give effort and actually try you will pass. An easy A if your not lazy. He also makes fun of people which is cool.
Grading is largely subjective. Scatter brained and illiterate PhD. Huge language barrier. Extremely meticulous and docks points for lack of non-crucial aspects. Does not care about students. Theory over logic behind theory. Superiority complex.
He teaches too fast, and doesn't make sure that we understand..he's at his own pace and treats us like we're slow..
He is a good teacher to me. He is smart and he know what he is doing. He is not very polite when you ask questions though. He makes you feel a little dumb.

He is a very good teacher. He is very helpful and very motivated. Has very flexable office hours. yes, he is little difficult but almost all the good teachers are tough. Teachere's who know how to teach seem little tough. Excellent Professor!
I had him my first semester ever in college, and he has yet to be the worst teacher I've ever had. He's rude, unclear, the accent is difficult, and he goes out of his way to humiliate people. Shouldn't be teaching!!!!!
I thought Mr. Aslam was a great teacher. He has a great sense of humor and explains things very clearly. i never have gotten good grades in math and I got an A in math 98 and took him again for 1111. His english isn't great, but is better than others.

This guy has little patience for his own lack of the understanding of English. Half the class is sleeping and half is failing. He doesn't know how to teach and hates the Ti-83 which we're supposed to be reliant on. He is a very poor teacher.

Mr Aslam is hotter than me, undoubtably. Anyway, good luck trying to read through the misspellings and wrong algebric computations on the board. He'll most likely skip the easy chapters and get flustered when you prove him wrong. He likes to ignore you.

He was very hard to understand, plus he would get pissed if we had a question. Not a good teacher. He knows what he is talking about, but he does not know how to teach even the simpilest things to the class.
I took his class for summer school and realized how horrible of a teacher he was. You can barely understand his english and when you ask him to explain something, he gets angry and humiliates you. He is VERY rude and does not explain things clearly.

Not bad overall, just bad communication skills. Sometimes won't work problems in class if he thinks they're too easy, but you can go to his office and he'll work them, but as he only knows how to teach straight out of the book, all he can do is work the problem, not explain how or why.

Easy teacher. I got into this class because i was 1 point short. So the class was easy no matter what. He is kinda hard to understand. And he doens't like to help or answer questions you may have. The class is basically tests and hw. Which the hw is only collected on test days for completion grades.
Aslam is a very good teacher but can make you look stupid at some times when u ask a question. Will do anything to make you pass his class extra credit, homework and EASY tests were he drops the lowest grade. VERY GOOD TEACHER!!!!!

He is a pretty good teacher. He doesn't put up with much cutting up, but he also wants you to do well. He knows what he's doing and if you pay attention and follow in class, you'll do fine. Somwtimeshis pronunciation is a little funny. He's a decent teacher though.

Because of his accent he is very hard to understand. If you took lu for calc one I would not reccomend taking Aslam because they teach and grade very differently.

Be prepared not to really learn anything. He goes over ALL of the examples of the BOOK through the class period and that is ALL. Be prepared to LEARN on your own and at your own pace. He's a really nice guy, don't get me wrong, but i cant even understand him when he speaks. I am unsure if i would reccommend his CLASS!!!!!
I'd have to agree with the previous people. You basically do have to teach yourself in his class. His accent is kinda hard to understand until you get used to it. If you ask him a question that he thinks is too easy, 9 times out of 10 he won't work it out unless you basically force him. Unless you are already good at this subject, dont take him.

Ok, this guy knows a lot of math stuff, but it doesn't do him any good as a teacher in an American school if he can hardly speak english. He's pretty cool though but definately find another teacher.

It is very easy to make an A; just go to every class. He is very funny, laid back, and knows what he is talking about. I did not find his accent difficult to understand.

This is the worst math teacher I've had. Let me rephrase, this is the worst TEACHER I've had. He HATES it when you ask questions and when does listen to them, he rambles on about something that has nothing to do with the question. He's not hard, he's just difficult...you know? I mean like to deal with...w/e, just drop him.
Ok everybody seems to be hating on Prof. Aslam. Is he helpful? no not really. Is he a good teacher? no not particularly. But he is very straight forward. His tests are easy if and only if you know how to work the problems. I ended up with an A in the class. But I had to teach Calculus to myself. Just remember, you must know "chain rule".
i HATED this class! it always stressed me out daily. he told my class we needed to dedicate at least 2 hours a day to calculus homework and studying. it was ridiculous. thankfully i passed with a c b/c the final was ridiculously easy.

Look I HATE math and I survived this class. No he isn't the most helpful professor I have had but if you try, I mean really try, he isn't going to fail you. Especially if you make an effort to talk to him. He knows math isn't for everyone!

This teacher is not that bad. He can make you feel stupid a lot of the time, so i wouldnt recommend asking too many questions, but his tests arent that hard. They are mostly multiple choice with a few short answers. Just do your hw and pay attn

Nice enough guy. But teaches like we should already know the subject matter. Only does examples laid out in book.Not to much practice in class, so can't get a good feeling for material. Felt like I was teaching myself. Struggled to make a B. Only good thing is that test problems are usually straight out of homework. So doing homework does help.

He is awesome. Had his for calc2..The test are almost identical to homework problemss....not a hard class. Do your hw and you are guaranteed an A..Also drops 1 test..toa 4 test..1 take home grade and 10% homework....final is right out of the test..I mean exact questions with numbers changed.I loved his class

I would avoid taking any of his classes, if possible. If you can teach yourself, you will be fine. You have to put a lot of time into his class in order to understand because he basically reads you the book and only does the examples already in the book. He will make you feel very stupid and belittle you in front of the class for asking questions.

This teacher has a very dominate accent. He can be hard to understand sometimes. You should have some prior knowledge of the subject because he will go through it as if you already know it. He will belittle for asking question. He will critize you for not knowing how to do it and then finally answer the question.

Don't understand why people complain about his accent=) 99% of GPC teachers have accents...Just do ur HW and don't miss class=) his tests are easy(he does review before the test), will answer all questions u have and go over the HW problems. Loved his class, idk why some students cannot understand him, he speaks good english and his teaching methods are excellent, I recomend him!
Mr. Asalam is such a wonderful teacher I can't explain how clearly he teaches if you follow along with him and write EVERYTHING down in your notes. I have Mrs. Rockward now and all I can say is I wish Mr. Asalam was teaching MAth 1111 =[

For precal, he is not the best teacher in that he basically does the example problems from each chapter (copies book explanation). So, instead of wasting your time going to class, just take it online and teach yourself. I will be getting a high A but I basically taught myself. As far as his tests are concerned, they're really easy if you do the hwk

Lot of homework but thats to be expected. Tests are straight from homework so if you do the homework you will be fine. The only complaint I have is he uses the examples from the book. I just wish he would have done more examples outside of the book would of made this class a little easier. Overall not a bad teacher at all.
Um, i'm pretty good at math so I might not have a good understanding of how people might struggle in it. Um, Aslam to me was a good instructor. yes there is HW but he give you intill test day to turn it in. his test to me were actually easy compare to other math teachers i've took. He is a decent guy like an i recommend him.
He gives a lot of homework, but if you do it will pass every test no problem. He teaches straight from the book so you do not get lost after you leave the class. The notes are the same from the book. He is very organized and he sticks to the syllabus 100%. I recommend this professor for pre-calc.

I'm still taking the class.. But after my last class with him I just had to say something. He is the rudest professor I have ever had... He can be mean & is unhelpful if ur in a lower level math. He only likes you if u do well. He has walked off while I was speaking & embarrassed me in class without sympathy. Im not lazy but im very bad at math.
Professor Aslam was awesome. Man if you want an easy test take him. I still miss him. I got an A but for Cal 1 I got a C with another teacher, I wish he was teaching so that i wouldnt fall asleep in the class. TAKE HIM! MISS HIM :(

This professor does not care about his students, he will tell you if you do not understand, to go to learning support classes. He lectures a million miles per minute and doesn't care for students' questions.
He is really good. I got 100 in all exams as well as got a student reward because his exams are so easy, and also his explanation is very clearly. If you want to get A+ in exams, you should take his class. :)

He doesn't stop when he solves an equation. He will ask if you have a questions after, but if you do the answer will more than likely be "go to the tutoring center" or "you should know this" and then he QUICKLY goes over it. He expects us to know most of it before hand. If you haven't had a math in a while (like me!), DON'T take him.

Mr. Aslam is great college algebra teacher. I had to take Math 1111 three times and I finally pass with his class. He gives you until after the test to finish homework. His tests are based on his study guides. He gives extra credit in the beginning of the semester.

I hated his class, horrible professor
All he ever does is write on a worksheet under a projector. He is hard to understand, due to his accent. Worse yet, he is a stickler when grading. If you dont solve a problem exactly how he "teaches" in class, he will mark it wrong. I have a high B in Prof. Powell's class (1111), and I am barely passing this one. Thank God its not for credit.

I had him for math 1111, he doesn't know how to use the online website for the daily homework, it's hard to understand him because of his accent plus don't care about actually teaching the student rather just to get over with the class. comes to class and instead of knowing where he left off he asks the student
He cares a lot about his students' grades. He tries his best to provide many extra credit points for his students. He tells students about what will be coming in the exams and warns everyone to be aware of what's coming ahead. I mean it is your fault if you choose to ignore him. He wants things to be done straight, but which math professor doesn't.
makes you work for your grade, as you should work for it, but he makes you work for it by not teaching you. He uses the class time to SHOW you, but doesnt bother TEACHING you because he assumes you know how to do it already. When you do ask he makes you feel dumb. So no one in my class bothered to ask we just got help in tutorial almost everyday.

Don't ever think about taking his class!! No matter how hard you study for the test you will fail! It was a miracle for me to get a 69 on one of the tests. Attendance worth 4%. 6 tests and lowest grade he will drop it but trust me all your test grades will be low! just saying. If you are taking his class now god be with you.
The one below me spoke no lies!!! That person was 100% right!!! Everything word from word was right. This is truly a nightmare this professor is awful. The whole class is failing and he doesn't teach. He looks down on students for asking for help and calls out failing students which is majority of the class!!!
Rough class - the professor doesn't teach much and looks down on students asking for help. Thankfully, tools like Unstuck study helped me prepare, though I'd avoid this class if possible.
