Avoid taking chem with him if you can. Hours of homework, mandatory attendance, and boring lectures. Don't let the quizzes and homework ruin your grade. His class is doable but a pain in the you know where.

Professor Daoudi is a good professor. I like his smirk. He can be difficult to understand, so sit in the front and don't fall asleep. Ask him to show you an example if you don't understand. He gave everyone 10 points on one test when many people complained that 2 questions were unfair. Not impossible. I got an A.

Amazing teacher. He gives alot of HW (which rlly helps on the test)credit for attendence and weekly quizes (drops3) so theres alot of padding for your grade if your like me and chem really isnt your best subject. Most teachers just have 4 tests and the final. He's hard to understand at first but you get used to it, sit close.

The online HW is way too much and a waste of time as his tests are absolutely NOTHING like the HW. Also counts whether or not u answer in class questions correctly-suppose I don't get the concept until later on? Is it fair to dock pts because I don't get it at that time in class? Oh, the final is a standardized test-do yourself a favor take another

Seriously I don't know why you wouldn't take Daoudi. He reuses the same questions over and over (and over) again from past tests. Be resourceful and find old tests from someone else. Do the HW, it does help you in simple test problems. Just bring a paper to class to do Sudoku and you'll breeze through.

Daoudi is a horrible professor; he just reads off his powerpoint and attendance is mandatory because he uses clickers. He's rarely in his office during "office hours" and it seems like his TA's don't even like him. I got an A but only by studying from the textbook myself and doing the mastering chemistry. Don't take Daoudi if you don't need to.

Professor Doudi's class was not easy. I had to read the book and go to SARC a lot. But that being said, I pulled off a B. Make sure you go to class bc of the clicker/attendance points. At first his accent is a little bit overwhelming, but you get used to it after awhile. We had 4 tests and a final. Homework was hard sometimes. Good luck!

Chemistry I is a fairly easy class, but not the way Daoudi teaches it. Find some alternate way of understanding it if you've never taken chemistry before because he and his TAs are typically useless and only end up confusing you more. He is incredibly rude during office hours and will not help you if you come to him. Attendence is graded.

HORRRIIIBBLLLE. I sat up front and attended class but I was better off teaching myself. He teaches word-for-word powerpoints and uses Mastering Chem for homework. Hadn't taken Chem in many years so maybe I needed a refresher course, but he was worthless during office hours too. Lame excuse for a TEACHER. I ended up getting a NC actually trying.

I personally think he is a very good and fair professor. He gives you practice exams that are very similar to the actual exam questions. The homework is easy if you don't procrastinate (and very helpful). Just pay attention in class (and to the clicker questions) and you won't even need the book. People make this class harder than it needs to be.

You must come to class bc he uses CPS-clicker for attendance. I took AP Chemistry in high school and got a 4 on it so this class was like a review for me. I just studied the powerpoints and the quizzes and so far I have gotten A's on the exams. He is kinda hard to understand but it's bearable. U need to really study hard if you haven't taken AP b4

He's OK. His explanations could improve. HW & attendance pts help(they are a given if u do ur part). The quizzes & CPS Qs are annoying (he often has trouble using the CPS system). Uses CPS for attendance and participation. Used online homework/quizzes which can be hard to get use to but if you do it it will help your grade. Worst professor I've had! Rude and condescending to students. Very inconsistent. Assignments aren't clear. When he can't explain something from his own slides, he just skips it and moves on. You have to teach yourself from the book. He includes questions not covered in the book or lectures. Excessive homework that takes >3 hrs/day to accomplish.

This class is plenty of work but that's college. Here's how I got an A. I went to all classes except 1 (to get iClicker points), did all the hw which helps you understand the material well, and read the chapters thoroughly and took notes on them before the tests. Also did practice problems from the book. The professor is kind of snippy in class.

Plain and simple - the main is a well respected professor but is a terror. I had the flu running a 103 fever in his office and he still made me take the exam that day. Do the HW for real (dont cheat), go to class, and do the EC youll be fine. If youre looking for a teacher that will be nice and help - avoid him like you would COVID-19.

The fact that test scores are so daunting to the final grade in this class doesnt help GPAs, but at least its a good method to prepare for harder classes that compile this stuff. His TAs are good resources, and the generous extra credit along with 65% a C grade really helps with passing the class. This professor IMO is a good-case scenario.

Dr. Daoudi wasn't as bad as I thought he would be, but understanding his lectures and thick accent was very difficult. I learned most of the material through the textbook and other resources and would recommend the same to others. Compared to some of the other orgo professors, his tests aren't super bad (not easy, just not terrible).

if you want to teach yourself orgo... this is the perf course for you. His lectures don't help but still come for the activity sheets that are given in the end. He also had done attendance for my class in the last month of the semester... if you want to pass I recommend going to SARC and SI, and carefully read the book and take notes on it.

The class is already so fast paced and he assigns 50 question homework assignments where I am seeing the material for the first time. Two tries and the best score is recorded. Many problems for one problem, there is a lack of foundation for a class like this. Professors just need to be better at their job.

This is a difficult class as it is and having 50 question homework with different problems is very time consuming. If you are not given the chance to learn the material before doing the homework how do you expect to do any better on the homework, and that he gives two tries on the problem or you won't get any credit. Summer with Daoudi is not it.

A NIGHTMARE 80% of your grade are exams with no curve. Orgo is what he does for life, but it's not my only class. I would understand he would act that harsh if he does his job and actually teach but even that he doesn't do. Expect us to pass, but he is failing to teach. Wish I could say more, but do not waste your money and mental health on him.

I really enjoyed this class. Exams are a breeze compared to the hw, and they are more based on lecture than the reading. The hw was enough practice for me to get 100+ on each exam. There are 10 bonus points at the end of each exam usually a bit more difficult than the other qs. Attend class for the worksheets.. they are indicative of the exam qs.

I was nervous coming into the class because of all the negative reviews but honestly even after taking it during summer, where everything is more rushed, it's not as bad as people here make it seem. Do not only go to lectures and expect to get a high grade in the class. Read the textbook and grind practice problems. Ask him questions, he does care.

Daoudi is not as bad as his reviews make him out to be. Even in a summer semester which is a faster pace, getting an A in the course is very doable. Participating in lecture is important and he gives worksheets at the end of class for us to work in groups which I found made it way more engaging. Read before class and do practice problems!

People love to complain, and it's a hard class, but the bottom line is Orgo is tough, time consuming, and fast paced anywhere. He is fair, his tests are hard but reasonable, class structured well (textbook important), and he is always receptive to questions. He's a nice guy if you are respectful. Cons are minimal partial credit on frqs, tons of hw

4 exams, & 1 final & ur lowest grade will be changed if u do better on the final. Class is not easy, u gotta dedicate hours of study but an A is not impossible. Do ALL the problems from the book reviews (even ACS ones) and read before class. SI was great help but try to study with a group of people if possible. It's intimidating but you got this!!!

WORST "professor" i've ever had in my entire life. he's an incredibly rude person, the homework assignments take literal HOURS and by the time you finish you're unmotivated to even try or study the content. practically only graded on tests (80%), and his lectures are so unhelpful because he spends half the class being passive aggressive to kids.

You are better off doing the book problems and later double-checking your solutions manual. Homework is taken directly from the book, so if you're pressed for time, just input the answer from there and get your 50 points. Hard to understand, and will get absolutely livid if sees you talking, loud or not. Use Chad's Prep on Youtube, it will save you

Lectures are useless as he spends most of the time yelling and rambling on. Read every chapter and do every problem in the book, you'll be fine. YouTube is your bff. Most important aspect is his exams in general are very fair, which is rare for orgo. Go to exam reviews, questions will pop up on final & you get to keep your test! 1 dropped exam

Rely heavily on youtube, he isn't really useful as a teacher of information. He no longer has any online component for lectures, and going to class is very important. Poor class structure & bad textbook. Practice sheets in class are the best option for practice. SO MUCH HW, and it is not useful for practice. Exams are challenging, but mostly fair.

Dr. Daoudi definitely knows his stuff, but he isn't exactly great at explaining/teaching the subject. Some homework WILL take hours, but his exams were relatively fair. Can be rude when answering questions during lecture, though he says he encourages them. GO TO EXAM REVIEWS! He wasn't completely terrible, but I don't think I would recommend him.

Do not take orgo with Daoudi if you can help it. He is extremely unhelpful and is passive agressive towards his students. This class is literally all about how well you can teach yourself. I put in near 15 hours a week for this class and I am barely scraping by. Unless you are naturally good at chemistry, it will be hard to succeed in this class.

Class had been unbearable. Homework that was assigned in a way where it gets in the way of actually studying the material. Felt like I was sitting in a lecture from the early 2000s. Made the class harder than it already was. Teaching methods consisted that the students should already be familiarized with the material, when they are not.

Organic chemistry is a tough subject, obviously. This professor is rude, inconsiderate, and not very helpful whatsoever. But, you can manage to get an A or B in this class if you put in the time. Organic chemistry is a class of time, not intelligence. His tests are fair if you study enough. Don't try to ask him for help though, he won't help much.

The subject of organic chemistry is tough. This professor only makes it tougher. Exams are much harder than they need to be with half of it being free response. Homework takes a long time to do and you only get 2 attempts per question. The professor has a short fuse and gets mad easily. The textbook will be your best bet for passing.

Though he can be a bit intense, he's not bad. He knows the subject very well and genuinely wants students to succeed. He provides extra credit on every exam except the final and values in-class participation. This subject requires lots of studying outside of class & homework, so be prepared to work hard.

I used to be a tutor for ochem 1 after getting an A in the course. My tips to those starting this course: you MUST read your book prior to coming to class (also do the practice problems while reading, it helps u understand the concepts!!), go to SI + peer tutoring & watch online videos for assistance if need be. It's a hard course but u got this!!

He is very particular about what he mentions in class and WILL test you on it. Especially for free response questions. Always go to exam reviews. Never studied the homework or found it helpful. Use the textbook and SI or TA reviews. DON'T TRY TO CRAM! The only way I succeeded was studying for a few hours every day and practicing problems.
