This guy will ruin you. Stay away from him! Whatever you do! Do not register for this guy. Take Dube or Mingarelli, both excellent choices. NOT HIM. He will bring you and your GPA down. His attempt of teaching are pathetic.
The man is a genius, but he sometimes has a hard time explaining it in a watered down form for the majority of people who are fighting to understand. The first month is extremely hard for grasping concepts with his teaching method. By the end it does improve though
In my opinion, he is the BEST Mathematics prof.!! Being of European background, I found MANY parrallels in his style of teaching to the way I was taught back in Europe. EXCELLENT at explaining! Sometimes makes minor mistakes, but they seem irrelevant among his overall geniousity. RECOMMENDED!!
This guy has amazing notes and a very structured style of teaching. I found I learned a lot through him. I recomment him.
Really tough tests, but it preps you well for the exam. Takes time to understand his speaking and teaching methods.
He sucks... simple matter
Good teacher
This professor lacks the capability to convey the essential information in calc. He also lacks the backbone needed to teach in front of a large class of students. I found him to be too quiet to hear when he talked at all, which was very very rare to begin with. Don't enter his class with high hopes.
A very good teacher for someone who is reasonably good with the basic concepts you need coming into the class. I noticed weaker students struggling, but I found the class was a breeze. I'd recommend this guy for sure.
The prof is really great and gives good examples and makes sure everybody understand what he is talking about. Highly recommended, gives bonus marks once in a while.
I liked this guy he was funny. Was easy on us for quizzes and tests. Follows very closely with the textbook and gives lots of examples.
I took Math 1004,1005 and 2004 with the same guy, I got A+ in all 3.. man he is good, he will prep u for the finals and u will come out with an A+ for sure.. his teaching methords and examples are simply great, he will teach u from the basic.. I highly recomond him. last semester for math 1005 23 A+ out of the class of 45. thats how good he is..
he doesn't keep his word!!! makes promises to take of negative marks when getting a question wrong on tests and the final exam and doesn't keep his word. The wording on the final exam for several of the questions were not clear ( not very helpful at clearing it up )

Not a very good prof. Very hard to understand. Does not explain things with very much clarity. Knows the course work, but cannot present it with very much efficiency. Better to read the textbook and check the TA's websites than go to class. Tutorial TA was absolutely terrible, too. Made countless mistakes. Made the class un-fun. Bring a pillow.
very good prof
i used to go into class and stay there for 15min n leave .. he is beyond boring .. and the TAs need tons of help :S .. but when it came to the exam, he gave out a sample exam and the final exam was jus the exact same .. and he has REALLY GOOD notes .. dats the only reason i would recommend this prof to anyone .. !!!!
Most of the people complain from him, however he is a good professor. His examples are helpful. Follow them and you will be fine. You have to know that on tests he usually give questions from the textbook. Exam was easy as well. Consider it.
He is Great. You need to attend in the classroom and go to his office to get extra help. TA's as usual suck. If he see your participation in class and trying to get a good mark. He will give you a Great Mark. And Also Helpful during Final Exam.
he thinks himself as something big and that he is the only one who understand
he is not bad.. he has a good style and he helped me in some stuff. the TAs are somehow not that good i don't know if thats with u guys but u can check them
He is a very nice man... But he simply doesn't have the ability to explain concepts. Instead, he just repeats definitions, perpetually. He cannot convey an idea in his own words. Whatever you learn while enrolled in his class, will be in spite of him.
Will not answer questions. I am unsure whether it is because he does not want to, or because he is not able to explain the concepts. He is great at writing very fast on the chalkboard though...
I'm still taking the course (Summer Session), and I think he's very much like Sam Melkonian who taught me MATH 1005...he's good at explaining the material, what is of major importance, writing fast lol, and all that good stuff. I'll update this after I finish the course :)
Had to go to another teachers class. He taught things in circles, made simple things more complicated then necessary.
HORRIBLE!! CANT TEACH IF HIS LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!! PUTS QUESTION TYPES ON TESTS THAT ARE NOT COVERED IN CLASS TEXTBOOK!! PS: uses different textbooks than the one assigned and expects us to magically know all the material in the different textbooks!!
No, just no. I entered university to get a good education, and I didn't get that whatsoever. He's a nice guy, but cannot teach at all, STAY AWAY!!! His methods aren't good, he has trouble getting Points across, and is just overall not a good teacher
In contrast to what everyone else says, he was pretty good. He uses a lot of examples and makes his tests from the assigned problems. Pretty straight forward class if you put in the effort.
I absolutely loved him as a prof! He was so helpful, his teaching style was awesome! (lots of examples, not a lot of words... like how math SHOULD be.) His tests came pretty much straight from his in-class examples, so attendance and attentiveness guarantee you a good mark. Enroll in his classes, you won't regret it.
Funniest prof ever. Borat X2. Pulls out the worst notes possible, if you like funny accents Moh-Money is the man for you.
Bad prof.! he have an accent and he can't explain properly any concept!
smart person, worst teacher i've ever had the misfortune to have, ever.
He is smart and knows his stuff, but cannot share the knowledge. He is the worst teacher. He takes a small and easy concept and makes it 10 times harder, he confused me so much. But as I said he knows the stuff
SOOO EASY! i dont know what he says in class but once I learn it in the tutorials, his tests are just the basics. He wrote the exam for the cours and it was A+ material for anyone who even remotely attempted to study.
He is an okay pro. But there is one thing is that he always makes everything much more complicated than normal. I'm the kind of student who like to read textbook before coming class, but he always makes me so sleepy and confused.I like to concentrate on reading textbook than joining his lecture
Explains decently enough, SUPER EZ tests, can't get much better.
Too much theory but very nice guy!
He teaches things in a very different way. Can be confusing until you reread your notes.
Mohammed was a great prof. He is very passionate about Math and he encorporates theory that other classes do not. This makes his class more difficult in the short-term but more beneficial to students in the long run. His exams are much harder than any other profs for 1004, but that being said he gets you far more prepared for the final.
Not a very good prof
Very different teaching method that was hard to folow. After a while I just gave up going to lectures and studied straight from the book, but by doing this was easily prepared for his tests.
Hes not a great prof but the material in this class is so easy and the test were very easy and had lots of bonus marks. Easy A if you put in a bit of effort
HE IS A GOOD PROF very nice person. he can spend lots of time with you to help you understand during his office hours. his tests are very similar to what he teaches and some questions are similar from the book
He is a great and smart prof! Knows his stuff pretty well! Just attend the lectures and you will be prepared for the exams
Great prof! Knows his stuff pretty well!Just attend the lectures and you will be ready for the exam :)
Awesome prof! DO NOT miss the lectures and you will be ready for the exam!
Excellent Prof with good notes and examples. Just attend the lectures and do the problems he assigns and your guaranteed to do good on the tests and final exam.
Basically, if you attend the lectures youll do good in the term marks as he brings his test questions from his lectures. As for the final exam you basically just need to open any calculus book and study. Nice prof helpful when needed . Dont be fooled by first impressions. Easy A+
He's a very nice man. Good prof. The tests were too hard but the final exam was too easy. be patient with him, you'll eventually like him and get a good mark
SUPER NICE!! I personally hated the course because he brought hard tests. but it is just to encourage you to work harder and attend his class. his final exam is too easy. which made me get an A+ in this course. highly recommended
Great guy, but it is very hard to understand in lectures. Hand writing on the board is very difficult to read. My advice is to sit near the front because from the middle to back of the class you won't be able to see his tiny writing+his writing is bad enough. Teaches way too fast. Teaches while he writes, causing him to teach in broken sentences.
At the beginning he is really hard to understand (I was about to drop the course), but once you get his handwriting , everything gets better ! Just sit in the front!!! Also, when you go to his office hours, he is really helpful! He really cares about his students! He is an awesome guy!!
Yet another math prof who would probably be half decent if you could understand a word he says. Strong accent and awful hand writing. Avoid if possible.
is very clear and will explain each step of the way.
bad explanation, bad handwriting and accent , too many hard tests
Very hard to understand (thick accent) and does not explain ideas and theories well. Examples are poor, and not clear. Overall, a very bad teacher
Excellent prof, as others mention he's kinda hard to get used to, but once you do you'll be glad he's your prof. Gives long, boring lectures but is extremely clear and explains extremely well. He's also hilarious and attracted a cult following in my first year calc class. Tests are fairly difficult, but his exam is supposed to be a joke.
Fair proof, clear explaining ideas and concepts. His test were easy and fair , but the exam was a killer. Wasn't available very much during exam period. I liked his class and would take with him again.
Gives hard examples in class which are harder than tests. Skips a lot of steps while solving on the board. Not really clear either. Hard to understand. Exam was really hard
Excellent professor. Explains everything you need very clearly. However, his lectures are very long and it is hard to pay attention at times. It is also difficult to keep up with his writing as he condenses lectures. Hard tests, but prepares you for the final.
I personally didnt like him much from the start. You need to sit at the front to understand his handwriting. Accent is kind of legible. Unfair final imo Started skipping every lecture after the first test. They were useless. The book is a million times better. That being said, the textbook is an AMAZING learning tool and it is what got me through.
Sit in the front to understand his writing. He will basically solve examples for the entire lecture which is very helpful when learning the material. Struggles with language so is hated by many students. Don't rely on lectures to be enough. Reviewing the notes + textbook examples and HW will guarantee success. Good challenge on tests and exam
I started to realize that people who had problems with this prof were either trash at math or just didn't study till a few days before the exam. Sadeghi is a solid prof who does go faster than usual, but has clear notes and explains his ideas thoroughly.
Goes faster than other professors but overall explains everything clearly. It pays to sit up near the front of the class and listen really carefully to everything he is saying. His textbook is very good and clear.
Was a good prof for linear algebra although you have to sit at the front to understand him. But he is also extremely rude when you go to ask questions. Truly makes you feel as if you are stupid for asking legitimate questions.
he is just reading a paper and there is no more explanation and when asked to expand the topic further he is either being rude or giving no answer at all.I barely understood his course but fortunately his source was good and i read it by myself and was easier than his nonsense words
His book is GREAT ( you don't get that with other profs) so I mostly didn't have to go to lectures. The complete opposite of a tough grader. not much work was needed for the exams too.
He gave complete notes, all proofs, fair exams... I will never forget these two magnificent classes (1004 and 1104). I heard some saying that his accent might be difficult to understand; luckily I lived in Ottawa all my life. Anyway, his English is just fine. Leave your questions for the end, better than in the middle. SADEGHI ALL THE WAY!
Very bad in all directions..
Boring and impolite...
Living Legend
Lectures are very bleak. They're essentially just listening to him read the textbook, however the textbook itself (published by him) is very well-written and explains the material clearly.
He taught linear algebra almost entirely using slides - very poor teaching method for math. He also answered questions from students very poorly, as though he was answering entirely different questions or would just disregard the question, lacks social awareness. Tests were fair though; not hard to do well, but you'll have to learn on your own.
Sadeghi does not post slides until after the lecture and moves forward before you can finish taking notes. The slides are word-for-word from his textbook (BUY IT). I went to class but copied from his textbook instead of listening. Doing the suggested problems, summarizing content, and practicing problems before tests helped me do well.
I went to few classes cause i didnt understand what he was saying. Just studied the text book very well. Buy his textbook!
He is a great instructor and also easy going. Buy his textbook because it makes you like easy! He is very down to earth and has a great personality.
ery good professor. His lectures may not be that useful if you buy his book because his slides come directly from there. Tests and exam are easy if you do the assigned work. Overall he's very chill and down to earth.
Mediocre professor but does the job. If you buy his textbook and read it all the time and do all the homework, you are set for an easy A+ for the rest of the course.
He's a good teacher if you can get past his grammar. Very lenient marking scheme. Also makes the class as lively as possible.
Amazing professor with a lot of knowledge. Always attend his classes because he explains really good in the lectures. He's also really helpful outside of the class.
Always attend the classes and listen carefully to what he points out to alot. Very easy tests and he tells the class clearly before hand what is covered.
Lectures are really useful. The textbook by him is the best compared to the other textbook for the course. If you use that, you definitely gonna end up with at least A- ! Also try to get help from him outside of the class.
Sadeghi was a good prof for linear algebra. I would highly recommend getting his textbook. He explains the concepts clearly, and you can tell he's passionate about what he does. Attend the lectures for some hints for tests and exams. He also takes test/exam questions from his textbook sometimes so do the assigned homework
He makes concepts seem more complicated then they actually so id recommend to buy his textbook and never go to class. He teaches straight out of the book so you will not miss anything and will be better off teaching yourself
I like this professor ,he is amazing and adorable
a perfectly fine prof personally did not like using slides for a math class. the slides used are directlyy from his textbook so it can be easy to catch up after a missed lecture. does not post slides buy the textbook
This guy doesnt even understand the English language, and his writing is impossible to understand. Buy the textbook and dont go to class, you learn nothing in his lectures. Terrible professor.
This guy might be the worst prof ive ever had he has no sense of direction. He starts at one point/topic and next thing you know hes talking about something else completely different from the first point of the lecture. He also forgets about his own tests. The day before our test we asked him questions about the test and he says oh that's tommorw?
Amazing and funny guy. He will write many proofs that might confuse you but the textbook does a good job in consolidating his lectures. You may have to get over his accent and his xs look funny. Overall great professer.
His class is a total waste of time. He does not know how to teach. When he tries to answer questions, ends up creating further confusion: You ask about "x" he will tell you about "y", you aks him about "y" he will tell you about something else and so on. The book he uses is not well written and will not sell on Amazon, so he sells it to students!
Absolutely useless could not understand one word he said and constantly and I MEAN constantly told us to revise the wrong chapters for test and then just threw what ever he felt like on the tests to the point out TA was complaining. Khan academy got me through this course.
I did not enjoy the lectures he gave, the TA's do a much better job at teaching this course. Good luck to anyone who is unlucky enough to be stuck with his lectures.
Hilarious professor but you don't learn in the lectures. Study his slides and the textbook and youll do fine
Most of his lectures are composed of proofs which help a lot with understanding and fundamentals. However when studying for tests his slides are the heart and soul of the course; make sure you understand them! Other than that, he is a funny and kind professor who wants his students to succeed.
I love this prof, he is really funny and always cracks little jokes. He teaches very well and always has a smile on his face. The tests are pretty straightforward if you do a few problems every week and check his slides the day before.
He is a funny guy and definitely a traditional math prof, very theory heavy. I had some trouble at first adjusting, but soon came to love his style. It's to the point with little fat; treat his slides like gospel. I gave up using Mingarelli's textbook after test 1, used Khan Academy and online resources. Buy Blenkinsop's tutorial book, it's great!
Prof. Sadeghi was AMAZING. He was thorough, and his slideshows were very detailed and well-written. You have to put in the effort to get the mark you want, but the tests and exams were overall very fair. Highly recommend!
Great Prof! Lectures are thorough, clear and neat. Does many examples in class. Tests are okay and the final was super easy.
He didn't like answering questions or helping with confused students. I didn't like his lectures, they were difficult to understand. I got a good mark by teaching myself most of the material and because it was an online course, the tests and exams were open book. He isn't a bad prof, but I found he was difficult to understand and learn from.
He is a very nice person and he I think he cares about his students. However, it's hard to understand what he is saying. His lectures are more or less just him reading off the slide show. The tests and assignments were fair which was good. Khan academy carried me through this course.
I think he is a very nice guy, but his lectures are just not good at all. You are better off learning from Youtube and just looking at his slides to practice. Assignments are fair. His midterm tests were okay. Final exam is easy.
Exciting and engaging lectures, unlike other math professors, he uses slides which makes notetaking easier. Make sure to buy his textbook, it apparently covers questions that appear in his tests. The book cured my depression, cured my cancer and got me laid. Truly life changing.
The greatest instructor of all time with the best linear algebra textbook on our planet. Buy his book! It prepares you well for his extremely fair tests, and makes you three to four times smarter.
Teaches linear algebra in a way relatable to engineering and science students, does not go too far into theories. Accent a bit hard to understand but very funny if you understand what he says.
Great prof with good sense of humor, although I learned mostly from his textbook rather than from his sometimes hard to understand lectures. Gave a lot of bonus marks, and test questions were basically copy paste from his textbook.
Makes lectures interesting with a great sense of humor. During the lectures he goes over a few examples to help students understand what he is explaining abstractly. However, his marking and tests are extremely easy as he frequently gives bonus marks on his tests, and he tells students that "the test will be copy paste from the textbook."
Lectures are badly taught and even simple topics are overcomplicated. The tutorial booklet that he wrote for MATH1004 is good for practice, but is full of mistakes and the explanations are mediocre at best. The course is taught as though every student already knows how to do the math, so explanations for how or why you do things are rare.
He is a terrible professor and only reads off of the slides
Mohammed goes through the content very quickly and does not take much time to explain.
Really strong accent, very sweet guy but I found him to be a terrible teacher.
His lectures aren't the best but the work booklet/ lecture book that he sells is very convenient. His tests are very easy, usually if you study enough you will likely recognize many of the questions from his lecture/homework. The exam was straightforward, with only 25 multiple-choice questions, and the difficulty was easier than the tests.
Professor Mohammed makes the lectures engaging and fun, you can tell he cares for his students. His lectures are not great, I had to depend on his textbook, which was very helpful as the test were basically copy-paste from it. Although, it is shame that the textbook was also full of errors. Lectures are not mandatory, self teaching will suffice.
Idk if this rating is even fair cz i only went to 2 lectures because the class was at 8 pm and ngl im tryna sleep but bro just talks and for those two lectures i went to I was like damn this is light but it wasnt that light cuz i didnt get A+ but still. If yk calculus from highschool ur good. But dont be like me. go to class. Chill guy tbh.
Best prof. Easy tests and basically tells you the questions word for word. Great guy, great prof.
Really encourage buying the tutorial book, makes the class super light. Lectures aren't to helpful, however, he adds many important details that help for learning the more complex material for tests. Very fair final exam.
This professor sells his own textbook which I was skeptical of at first, but it is very good. It provides very nice explanations and walkthroughs of problems. Also, he takes most questions from it. If you buy it there is no reason you will not get an A.
Buy his textbook for a free A
buy the textbook and you will be fine. (his side hustle) not great at teaching but okay prof. very nice guy.
He explained concepts very clearly and efficiently. He's honestly just a wholesome guy. Would recommend 100% buying his textbook for MATH1104 if you can't find it online.
He explained concepts very clearly and efficiently. He posted his lectures slides on Brightspace which were essentially identical to the textbook. Tests and final exam had lots of questions straight from his textbook. Good prof.
He is one of the better professors in the school of mathematics and statistics. He has excellent slides that explain everything well. He also has a textbook he keeps hustling, which is probably the best way to study for the tests. He explains pretty well and has office hours, he takes care of them too. Overall really decent professor for maths.
Most of this class should be review from highschool, not terribly hard. Be prepared and caught up. He takes problem right out of the textbook (word for word) so just do all the problems beforehand.
