Good teacher. His accent makes him a little hard to understand but he knows his subject and he is a fair grader. VERY nice guy tho.. His teaching style is decent..
Gives lots of extra credit! His quizes are hard but tests not too bad. Half credit for attempted problems.
Excellent. Gave lots of opportunity for extra credit. His tests from the previous semester were in the library and gave you a good handle on your own tests. We also got 3x5 cards for tests.
very nice guy. Class seem okay. not too hard and reasonable... just decent on lectures but has accent tho...
He is a very good teacher but he has an accent and it is really hard to understand him. I had him for fall '04 and he didn't give any extra credit. He is not too hard but he is definitely not easy. But when you go to his office he is very helpful. You definitely hae to put forth the effort.
He knows the subject, but its lost in his accent. He expects you to master chem 107 before this class. The major problem is with the online part of the class. He doesnt seem to understand the horrible amount of problems when using the software. He is also pretty flaky on the hw in the syllabus.
He has the thickest Indian accent I have ever heard. If you can't understand accents, beware.
The language barrier is a real problem. Ansari also checks the class for preparedness before a test, and if the class is ready he then raises the bar. Dont be fooled this is not an easy teacher.
great prof.
easy! to get A on his class is to memorize all answers from problem solving! It's hard to understand from his lecture, but test was always exactly from problem solving! if you just want to get A rather than understanding better, maybe he is the one!!
Truly knowledgeable professor. University quality instruction at the junior college level. I highly recommend Dr. Ansari for any chemistry if you want to be engaged, enlightened, and challenged. Ansari = A formula for success.
accent was a little difficult to understand, but thorough lectures. that is, if you attend every class.
This was a difficult class. it would have been a little bit easier if Ansari didn't have an accent. I believe he is a wonderful teacher and knows his subject really well but the accent is definitely an obstacle. He has great examples.
i liked him. you know the material after you leave this class. it's chemistry so it's not the easiest subject but it's cool when a teacher loves what they teach and he definitely does!
Overall the class was pretty easy. If you needed help he would help you and he lets you turn in late work without docking too many points
Does not speak english!! do not take this guy he totaly sucks as an instructor. Although he does write things down on the chalk board but good luck trying to understand what the hell he is saying.
i liked him. the easiest science class i've ever taken at fullerton college. he's a nice person and very helpful. u'll get used to his accent after a while.
worse teacher ever seen in my life... hard to understand ....
Worst teacher ever seen in my life. he don't speak englis very clear and he discriminate students
He's unorganized. Test questions come from problem solving worksheets and quizzes. Make sure you do the online quizzes as well. He's a nice and helpful guy. Just make sure you show up for lecture and he'll like you.
He's nice but likes to be intimidating. Likes people who go to class everyday. Lectures can be tough to understand. Tests aren't bad and he rounds everyone's score up at the end. It's tough to remember to turn in all the homework and do the online quizzes. Comes late to class often.
He's a professor with no bs. Tests are mildly difficult and grades on a curve. Lectures are on the level of UC's, lotta in depth stuff. Able to drop one test, (drop #3). This class takes a lot of your time and stand on your toes. He is however hearing from friends and collegues the best at Fullerton for Chem 111A.
Take ansari if you can stand heavy accents. If you get passed that, you will definitely learn a lot. First impressions mean a lot to him. if you get on his bad side, he sometimes reflects that in his grading. On tests I've seen that he is more lenient to students that he see's working diligently and stricter to those he thinks are slacking off.
Really nice guy. Explains everything in details, so you can imagine it while he is speaking. Makes it clear for you how it is going to be like on the test. Some of his previous tests you can actually find at the library. I highly recommend him. Especially if you are visual type like me.
Dr. Ansari is a decent professor but it is often hard to sit through his lectures due to his accent. His class definitely isn't easy but it's not the hardest either. He knows what he is teaching but it is often hard to understand him. He grades on a curve at the end of the semester. Remember to do the online quizzes!
He has difficulty solving his own chem problems on the board in class. And it is difficult to to read his handwriting. ... But there is a general problem with the science professors at FC. Most not interested in teaching but using the class to flush people out of health careers. So, best strategy is to view the professor as an adversary.
well... i am still in his chem 111A class. i am telling ya, he is one of the funniest teacher i have ever seen. he always make fun of other people, if you do not care, you'll enjoy his class. but if you do, trust me, you'll get offended. however, his tests are unusally hard to understand, so is his accents. other than that, he's GREAT!!
he 's a hard teacher
Terrible. He spends most of the lecture time trying to correct mistakes he makes on the board. His heavy accent makes him difficult to understand and his writing is impossible to read. You won't learn much in lecture so if you take him you had better like to read. Tests questions are written by him, so they're unusually difficult to understand a
easy grader but hard to understand
Exams were some what tough, but his practice test made it easier. Lectures were required to know stuff for exams, but textbook was not really need for reading purposes, just for homework. He has an accent, but it is understandable after awhile. Tries to makes jokes, not all that funny, but makes lectures entertaining.
As long as you are prepared to take this class seriously (showing up, doing the hw, reading the book, and studying for the tests) he is a really good teacher. You get used to his accent after awhile, and if he feels that you are really trying, he cuts you some slack when it comes to grading. I really enjoyed this class
He's a fair grader and an OK teacher (it's 111A that's hard). Allows for a lax environment. He's funny (sometimes without meaning to), caring, and just plain rad, but confusing sometimes. A bit crazy, which makes sense because he's a genius. I definitely had a good time in his class. You'll either love or hate him depending on your personality.
He's a 'B' teacher and a pretty cool guy. The class itself is very difficult and he expects you work hard and know the material. He's an okay person to go to for help, but can be a little intimidating at times. His accent and clarity sometimes do get in the way of doing instructions in class. Also, he's really funny at times, unintentionally.
DO NOT take his class. His summer class is the worst! His lectures are long powerpoint slides that he doesn't let you finish copying down. His writing is the worst of the worst. He also has a strong accent. He is a smart chemist, he just doesn't know how to teach it back to the students. There were quizzes every classtime.
He is a very good teacher, very smart. Chem 111A is very hard subject and he does the best at FC. This reqires study and students normally do not like to do it . They get bad grades and give him bad rating. DO NOT go by the ratings. It is all by the students who got bad grades.
I really enjoyed Dr. Ansari's class, and I am not much of a chemistry fan. He knows his material, he is always willing to answer questions, and he's very easygoing. He's really a swell guy. If you take notes, ask questions, and come prepared to lecture and lab, you will be just fine. Quizzes and homework assignments are easy points.
His manner of teaching is disorganized, but always has the right material at all times. He explains things harder than they should be, make friends in this class to help each other understand. He's generally easy going, but lectures are usually "winged" and you may be confused. GET THE PRACTICE TESTS and MASTER them (hint!), then you will be OK.
Very good teacher. Always there to help. In the begining it may be hard to know him and understand him but later you will love him. Trust me.
Really good teacher, nice guy. Pretty funny too.
A nice guy, but every time I leave his class I feel I didn't learn anything and am none the wiser.
Not that great of a teacher. He has a really bad accent and is very difficult to understand at times. When asking for help, he makes things even more difficult than they should be. Be warned this class will have to take much of your life if you wish to attend.
He is the most amazing teacher i have ever had. If you are planning on transfering to a good school he will prepare you for this. I go to UCSD he is a big reason for my success here. If you are a good student and willing to work hard this class is no problem cause he is a great teacher. And for those of you who didnt like him its becasue ur lazy
Ansari is a very good teacher, you get used to the accent and the tests are very easy. I have actually had a more difficult time trying to decipher some of the comments on here than I have had in his class. It's Chemistry! Of course it is going to take a lot of time and effort to pass. Taking Ansari will help you succeed in higher chem classes.
Great Teacher. I have problem with those who write bad comments about him. Probably they are getting bad grades. Chemistry is very hard subject and he teaches very well.
Dagood:nice guy, class material isnt too hard, your given multiple tries for online quizes.Dabad:doesnt explain things well;focuses too much on theory during lecture instead of examples;accent.*Tips:Do good on 1st 3 test;4th is hardest;Master practice tests to get atleast B on 1st 3 tests.Study book & PS for T4.Final=easy:study BASICS for all chpts.
He is a great guy outside of class. He is approachable during office hours if you have a question. overall, he's pretty leniant on online quizzes and assignments. He likes the people who come to class, he notices who comes, trust me. the bad, his lectures don't usually help with tests. study the topic he covers and do problems from practice tests.
He's a great teacher if you can understand his accent. His guarantee is, "You can understand 80% of what I say". But I could understand 90% of what he said. He's always there during the labs, explains well and cares for the well being of his students. Chemistry 111A is a tough class, but he'll help you get through it.
Dr. A is FUNNY. You'll have fun if you take him. He's quite disorganized, but thats why YOU have to manage your own notes. It IS college, so be prepared! Besides that, he's straightforward on what's going to be on the test. He's really smart and helpful.. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS, he helps you with ALL your questions. Getting an A right now :)
I respect Dr. Ansari for his passion for chemistry. The problem here is that he can't seem to TEACH it. He is really helpful in that he tries to make you understand, but he is just disorganized & his lectures are not structured. We jump from topic to topic & when the test comes, we don't even know what we're being tested on! Cool guy, but no thanks
Honestly I have never had a teacher this horrible and unfair. He doesn't give answers to practice problems, nor does he return your corrected labs. He gets the majority of the problems wrong in class when he presents them, which makes things very confusing. And on top of it all I cant understand him! Dont take him, no one in my class enjoyed him!
Just finished this course!! Overall, I recommend him. He's incredibly funny and approachable, so you're never scared to ask him questions. Also, he's kind to those who work really hard. Trust me, he notices. I learned a lot this semester and I wish I took him for 111A. If you take good notes and go to lecture, you wont even have to read the book.
Might as well take this class online. Can't understand his lectures because of his accent and he doesn't give any instruction on labs. You're left to fend for yourself to figure out what he wants. Good luck if u take him.
He's lectures are very difficult to understand. He is not organized in his lectures at all... if you're not an independent learner I wouldnt suggest to take this class. you'll have to learn from the book or outside sources rather than this class.
You'll need to work hard, take good notes, do your homework, attend lectures, ask & answer questions. Reading book is a must since his lectures are difficult to understand at times. I must agree with other comments that he was not really organized and his accent was thick. He helps you out if you need help on understanding the lectures.
He is a nice teacher. His explanation is pretty nice and clear, but I will agree with other comments that he has a thick Indian accent which is hard to understand for some students. However, if you take his class seriously and do all your homework, nothing can stop you from getting A. He respects all students especially those who get good grades.
Dr. Ansari is a very thorough teacher. His tests are very challenging. You will not breeze through this class. That being said, I learned so much from his class. He is always willing to help you if you have questions. He comes off as tough in the beginning, but is super nice and funny once you get to know him.
Very disorganized. Forgets when he assigned homework and demands homework that he forgot to assign etc. He knows that material and can convey it reasonably, but he gets lost on tangents OFTEN. If any of this will throw you off I do not recommend him.
He is the nicest and sweetest professor I've ever had ! He is willing to help you if you need help! Take him !!
Super nice and helpful. Really knows the material and if a student has any questions he is willing to answer. Tests are not too difficult if a student studies.
Dr. Ansari is one of the most awesome professors on campus!! He is very willing to help and his humor's just one of a kind... he makes the material interesting :)
Dr. Ansari is one of the best chemistry professors out there. He is really funny and very helpful. His tests are very representative of the homework, no big surprises. As long as you study you will do great!
He did everything in his power to not give people points, was not happy to give people A's. Does not show mastery of the subject at hand, and had difficulty solving the problems. Tests were worded strangely to trip you up, to be successful in this class you need to have a full understanding of the concepts and murphy's law applies to his tests.
This class is 50% or more self-guided and taught. You need to read the book to learn in this class. Need to have taken CHEM 107 the semester before and remember everything from it to do well. He says a lot is review but I took it 107 a long time ago so I had to relearn everything. He's a bit hard to understand. Funny sometimes but its a hard class!
Prof. Ansari is very nice and knows his stuff, but the biggest problem he has as a professor is organization. He's not always clear. Also, students beware: it's not impossible to achieve an A in his class, but you should prepare for more independent study. His accent's not a big issue; you'll get used to it after a week or two. Okay teacher overall
Not as bad as i thought it would be. Tests are somewhat predictable, but the final was little more difficult than his other exams. Sometimes curves the test if there aren't that many high scores. Pretty funny guy and the labs are pretty easy. BE SURE to take the weekly quizzes seriously, it can play a huge part in the final grade so pay attention.
He's an extremely lazy professor that is much more interested in his Chem Research than his teaching which leads him to be extremely unorganized, improvise lectures, forget to assign homework, and simply not bother to explain difficult concepts. Extremely knowledgeable professor that gives a fart about teaching. I recommend you AVOID him.
Is not helpful at all when asked questions, will make you feel stupid if you ask him a question about something from previous lecture. You really need to teach yourself to do well. In lecture not only is it a struggle to understand his accent but also to read his writing on the whiteboard. Very frustrating. The only ones doing wellwere ppl retaking
He's a great professor. He is helpful, that is, if you reach for it, and he knows what he is doing. He wants you to get a good grade. Exams are good part of your grade, but he adds in a lot of quizzes and some homework(more like in-class practice problems) to give a boost your grade. His accent is not too bad; it's actually kind of adorable
Straight from india so his english takes some getting used to. He makes the most random comments that are hilarious. There is a lot of class participation and he makes fun of everyone at one point or another but not in a bad way. He always asks if everyone understood. Will make up another prob if class misunderstands. Dontforget onl hw. 67 to pass
He is one of my best chemistry prof ever
I ended up teaching myself most things. He would go through practice problems, not explain them and leave people feeling really confused. Also tests are super long, you probably won't finish them.
I would NOT take him the first time or the second time. People who retook CHEM with him also failed too. Everything is all figure out for yourself. Tests are long and unfinishable and very different from study guides. Quizzes are open notes though, but can still fail them. Work extremely, really hard, and still fail. Love chemistry? You might pass.
Unclear in his lectures. Very unorganized. If he doesn't have time to cover something, he tells you to look it up yourself since it will be on the exam. Labs are pretty easy, pretty much the same as 107, just more detailed. Lab quizzes. Wouldn't take him if you don't like to be confused and frustrated. 3 exams, 1 final. Lab Practical.
He's very, very scatterbrained and disorganized during lecture. Half the time he goes off on tangents or confuses himself on what hes talking about. During problem solving he doesn't go over the problems. You go in with the worksheet sit down and he expects you to do every problem on your own.
He's a really nice and smart guy, but if you don't understand the material and ask for help during class he gets frustrated. I would recommend going to his office hours he is a lot nicer outside of lecture and will take the time to help. Also read the book before lecture or you will be lost.
His lectures are pretty descent but he is a tough grader especially when it comes to the labs. There are quizzes every week and are pretty useless and just drag your grade since other students are correcting the quizzes and if they do it wrong brings your grade down.
Took chem111b during summer. It is true that his lecture is very unorganized, but you will still learn the material. Sometimes you might have to teach yourself, but you are supposed to read txt book and study anyway. Lab is pretty hard but not impossible to get A. Try to participate in the class.
Unorganized lectures and goes off on tangents and his grading on tests are inconsistent as he will give partial credit on certain students answers while counting you off for similar answers. You should really try to take someone else. If you really have to take him be ready to spend alot of time studying and practicing. Just take someone else.
Professor Ansari teaches old fashioned, which doesn't work for a lot of people. He doesn't give any partial credit for assignments, no late work is accepted, and if you even rest your eyes in his class he'll give you a little shout. He goes on long tangents meant to be metaphors, and they're sometimes funny. Otherwise, he doesn't lecture very well.
I took dr Ansari for 111A he knows what he is doing and he have been teaching for so long where he comes up with examples on the spot. His lectures are good though can get unorganized due to him teaching everything from his head no books no notes. Ask a lot shows that u r following up and he would really make sure u understood caring and easy going
It is not that hard to get a good grade in this class but he makes you work way more than you expected and sometimes he corrects your exams wrong. Make sure to always check that you got the grade you deserved. He is very mean and can get on your nerves. Honestly if he is the last person to take it with then that should be the case. UNISPIRATIONAL
Dr. Ansari is truly a great guy. He really cares about his student and is willing to help make it work. Also hes funny. However, his class is the hardest class i have taken. He gives a lot of busy work for very little pay off to your grade. His tests are difficult and he quizzes sometimes not for weeks, then sometimes every day. Be ready for it.
Professor Ansari is a warm hearted person. He really takes care of his students. Read the text book and prepare for the class, then you will easily get B. He gives a lot of exercise questions during lecture. It is really helpful to understand the lecture materials. There will be more than 10 pop quiz, but he will take only top 10.
His class is so hard he makes you work way harder for your grade then other professors ! DO NOT TAKE FOR 111B! 111A is possible to pass but B is so hard ! he is a really sweet guy and is so nice to his students! he wants you to pass but he makes it veryyyyy hard!
all these people giving him bad grades are not being fair. he might not be the best but if you work hard for the class and have some respect then he'll treat you well . THIS IS A CHEM CLASS SO YOU HAVE TO STUDY HARD FOR IT.
Professor Ansari is a nice guy, but hes honestly not the best teacher. He skims through the first 4 chapters & expects you to remember everything from chem 107. He goes through the chapters very quickly & if he doesnt have time to finish he expects you to teach yourself the material & puts it on the exam. He also gives a lot of pop quizzes.
Professor Ansari Is a great professor and a great person. He really cares about his students. The worksheets he give out as HW is really helpful for studying for exams. Also the lecture is the most important material for the test. If you read the textbook too, you can get an A on the exam.
If you are planning on taking Ansari's class, be ready to teach yourself. He doesn't answer questions and always underestimate students. The online homeworks are due even when he doesn't finish the lecture. No extra credits, no nothing.
You can get an A in this class but be prepared to learn everything on your own. Over 50% of the material on his tests and pop quizzes is material that he has not lectured on. Listening to his lectures is a waste of time because he goes off-topic but you definitely need to attend every class if you want to receive an A. Just don't take him!!!!
Professor Ansari is unclear in his explanations. When you ask questions, he doesn't understand what you're asking and doesn't answer your questions. I had an A in all the online hw, lab, and problem solving, a B in quizzes, but one low test grade will undo all of that. I attended tutorring and office hours- wasnt enough. Avoid taking his class!!
Things are virtual right now, so its quite different. Professor does not explain the whole lesson throughly. Will make you read Some lessons on your own instead of teaching it. Messy grading system, all over the place. And a lot more that Ill just keep to myself. Taking Chem111AF is quite stressful already and he adds on to the stress! Terrible
Professor Ansari cares about his students. He understands that this mode of instruction during the pandemic isn't as efficient. But, I can assure you that he is passionate about chemistry and will provide you with the right tools to succeed in his class. You cannot expect him to give straightforward questions as many of them are accessible online.
Professor Ansari is the best professor I have had in my undergraduate . He is always ready to help after class . I think after class session will be more helpful. He is not a tough grader . His exams are straight forward and based on lectures . If you will ask him , he is always ready to help. I would definitely recommend him.
Quite disorganized. His lectures mean nothing. It's basically self study. I guess it's because he is using the annotating tool but his lectures are practically useless.
Dr. Ansari explains chemistry very well and goes through helpful examples. Although the exams can be challenging, the material he provided was effective preparation, and the exam content corresponds well with the textbook. Dr. Ansari asks for plenty of work on lab reports, especially for the discussion section, but he explains the labs effectively.
If you have taken difficult classes before and know how to teach yourself this class is doable, but only barely. There are a lot of online resources that you can use to teach yourself but the most difficult part of this class is knowing what is due when. Do not take this class unless you are willing and able to put all your time into it.
Dr. Ansari is not an easy professor, but that is expected from a difficult course. It is not a hard course if you listen carefully and do your part. If you expect this to be a walk in the park then it isn't the class for you. But if you expect this class to prepare you for standardized tests such as the DAT and MCAT then this is the class for you.
He wasn't the best at making the class enjoyable or easy to follow. He does explain some of the concepts and then he instructs you to read the book. He is quite a tough grader as most of the class achieved a mediocre grade and he refused to curve the grade. Not the worst professor but still needs a bit of improvement in his teaching methods
He is by far the worst chemistry professor I have ever had. He is very disorganized. During his lectures he will go on for 30 minutes explaining one thing when he's supposed to summarize and material. The schedule is almost always delayed and rushed and due dates are constantly changing or not correct because they were due dates from last semester.
Halfway through the semester and only 8 people in our zoom class. His lectures suck, he goes off topic, doesn't explain well. His writing is hard to read, completely messy notes. He's constantly behind in lecture. Items are due on chapters he has yet to go over. It is essentially teach yourself. Take him at your own risk.
WORST professor. You WILL have to teach yourself everything. Will not once go over labs, expects you to exceed expectations w/o setting them. Messy writing, uncoordinated lectures/assignments/due dates/everything! This class was way more stressful than it needed to be b/c he's not a good professor. Run, run fast
This is a tough class if you don’t prepare or put in time. But the Professor is very kind and understanding. He allows make up work and extra credit if you show him you’re trying hard to pass. He’s funny in lecture and maintains a positive learning environment.
This class felt like an asynchronous class despite having zoom meetings. The class was very disorganized as due dates kept changing b/c we were behind in lectures. Lectures are not very helpful as most of my learning was from the textbook or writing my own notes. Quizzes and tests were taken outside of class time using LockDown Browser
DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS. Even if you're desperate and he's the only professor available in the summer, DONT TAKE HIM if you actually want to learn and enjoy chem. He makes me hate chemistry. Lots of hw and assignment. Labs are due 2/3 days after the experiment.Lectures are useless. I've taken hard classes before, but his class is literally the worst.
The lectures are clear. He's willing to answer any questions and repeat whatever he wrote on the board. Labs are reviewed before and after the lab. I don't recommend taking the class during the summer unless you've previously taken the class. Lots of homework but plenty of time to work on it. Will take good time management skills to succeed.
Professor Ansari did a fantastic job in teaching material, and the tests are based on the types of questions you solve in class. Take this class if you would like to really grasp the material, but it will not be easy. He goes out of his way to talk to create connections with students and creates a great learning atmosphere and even makes it fun.
I took this class over the summer and it was a lot. Lots of work, lots of studying, as to be expected of a summer 5 units STEM class. I think the way the professor handled the class and taught the class was good and most optimal for the time he had. I would definitely take him again, as I learned a lot and the class was good.
Professor Ansari is an amazing professor. He gives a lot of practice problems to prepare for the exams. Although this isn't an easy class, I think anyone can do well if they put in the work. Pay attention in class, read the materials, solve lots of practice problems similar to those he gives in class, and ask questions. He is also very funny.
Surprisingly a great teacher. Really emphatic and cares about his students. If you put effort and try he will notice and reciprocate it. Curves exams if overall average is low. No extra credit. You do need to put in time outside of class and read the textbook!! Best advice I can give. Very doable class.
Good professor, will note that his teaching style is kinda slow compared to others but he does go into quite a bit of detail so after lectures everything made a lot of sense to me. Labs were relatively fun, just make sure to at least read the information beforehand, and also there are videos on YouTube he gives you that go through them step by step
Professor Ansari really cares about his students and wants everyone to pass the class. You just have to put effort into doing the online HW, understanding the topics/concepts etc. to do good in the class, especially gen chem 2 is considered one of the hardest chem course.
DON'T TAKE THIS TEACHER. HE WILL MAKE YOU FEEL STUPID WHEN ASKING QUESTIONS. The only reason he's not getting a 1 is because he's kinda funny. His lectures are hard to understand, not very good at explaining the material, and if you ask for clarification, he will either make you feel dumb or brush it past you. Unless you really need it, stay away.
when i took him his class was so disorganized. his canvas and grading was messed up and his lectures were all over the place. he'd go on tangents with random stories and his tests were tough too. gen chem shouldnt be that difficult but his teaching sure didnt help. once i went to his office hours and he rushed my question bc he wanted to leave
Professor Ansari's class is challenging but rewarding. Attend lectures, read the textbook, and use study tools like unstuck ai to really grasp the material. Put in the work and you'll do well, even if gen chem 2 isn't easy.
Absolutely refuses to create notes for himself to teach the lectures. Everything came from "his head", yet every lecture lost 30-40 minutes from him going on tangents and trying to remember the material. He doesn't make you feel comfortable asking questions. Doesn't take attendance, but will call you out in front of everyone if you show up late.
If you have a good foundation on math (algebra) you are solid for this class. I would recommend to read the chapters before and after lectures to really have the concept down and it will save you so much time when it's time to study or do practice questions. Begin with the book and memorize the concepts.
dr. ansari is a great guy if you get to know him, but not so much as a teacher. lectures leave most confused, goes on many tangents, & tests make u question if ur even studying right. w/o a curve, no one in my class would've gotten an A. my advice: study/learn outside of class. chem II is math heavy so practice practice PRACTICE!
Lectures are not for learning any of the material, only attendance. He goes on a lot of tangents about random topics that have nothing to do with the lecture, he makes you feel ashamed for asking questions, and isn't very clarifying when answering questions. If you can, take a different chemistry professor or wait until next semester, I'm serious.
Professor Ansari is a really great professor. He cares about his students and explains concepts thoroughly. He also reiterates the important ones and his exams are always similar to his lectures. It's important to take notes in each lecture and study, but overall I thought he was amazing and I have a lot of respect for him.
The prof is VERY disorganized, everything Is. His canvas page is never updated; assignments and quizzes don't have a due date. BE PREPARED, you will have to figure out everything on ur own. He also has a STRONG accent so beware. Half my class dropped and other half barely passing. If you need a grade higher than passing, dont take this class.
He isn't the strongest lecturer for the conceptual aspects of Gen Chem II, so most of my learning came from the textbook. An A was possible, but falling behind early in the semester made it hard for me to recover. He was accessible outside class, though I found his demeanor judgmental and struggled a lot in the course.
