Mohsen is great. Goes over a lot of examples in class that show up on tests, midterm and quizzes. The class is tough but it is calculus what else did you expect! He uses the exact same questions on the tests that he used in class. He has a bit of accent but I personally didn't have a hard time understanding him.
Great prof. If you are interested in math, this is a great class. I wasn't, but he didn't fail me when I totally deserve it :)
Best math prof I've ever had. Posts all lectures online so you don't have to attend except when there are quizzes. All questions from the quizzes are in the homework so it's an easy A. WOULD highly recommend.
Great guy and great prof. He was clear and provided lots of examples in class. He also posted everything he wrote during class online. The exam was easy. Recommended.
Solid Prof. Really easy class. He goes through many examples by hand which was nice. Although he can be disorganized at times, he still a good prof overall. Don't really have to go to class and you can ace 1229.
This course was very easy and it took minimal effort to get an astonishing mark. Mohsen made this experience even better with being very helpful via emails and responding to any questions I had. Highly recommend.
Great professor! Explains things very clearly. Nice guy. If you do the homework you should get a very high mark!
I had this professor for both 1225 and 1229 in first year, he was super helpful. His lectures were really clear and he was super funny. Likes to roast people in the funniest way. Has an accent but is very easy to understand. Always replies to emails quickly. I got a really high grade in both math courses, I would take both if you are good at math.
I think he might be the best prof for math1229. he makes things easier to understand than reading the textbook, and he goes through details when solving the example problems.
Best 1229 prof. Funny and makes the lectures super easy to understand. He offers electronic copies of all lectures so you could follow along while at home too. Super accommodating and always replies to emails within a few hours. Highly recommend.
Not a bad professor however not accessible by any means. Does not take special student circumstances into consideration either and that becomes problematic.
He's a good professor that knows his stuff. He is really nice and looks beyond your grades to get a good idea if you know the material. Although the tests are difficult, hes a nice professor and I highly recommend him
Best prof for 1229, you dont have read the textbook and no need to do homework, just go to lecture and do question with him, you can get good grades.
Super nice and will always answer questions you have to the best of his ability
doesnt accomondate to students, never answers emails and lectures can sometimes be confusing to follow.
HE CAN'T TEACH. THAT'S IT.
Although Professor Mohsen has some accents while teaching, he often tries to slow down and explain the knowledge. However, his lectures are heavy. If you don't preview or review on time, you could easily fall behind. He doesn't have specified office hours, so he is glad to talk to students at any time if they have questions.
He is one of the best math teachers I've had. He explains concepts so well, with detailed explanations and many examples. His examples are consistent with what might be on the exams.
He is a great prof. His lectures are easy to understand.
His materials are quite engaging, because he uses concise words to explain everything and easy to understand. Although he doesn't hold any office hours during the term, if you always seek help, then your problem will be solved. Anyways, I definitely would receommend to take his class. You will do great in his class.
Quizzes are easy and you can easily do well on tests if you study
This course is one of the easiest courses in Western. Although Prof. Molla sometimes finish almost 2 lessons in class, he always tries to slow down and explain the knowledge clearly. He often answers emails in a timely manner, even weekends. If you struggle with something, feel free to ask him and he will show you the process step by step.
Lots of my friends skipped their Calc tuts, however I enjoyed attending his. He would introduce topics well and go through the good practice questions that are similar to the exam. He always answers questions and slows down when necessary. I wouldn't say he's exceptional, but much better than any of the other calc 1000 ta's from what I've heard.
Our tutorial section was always a week behind in terms of content in comparison to other calc sections, but the professor was very accessible and always willing to help in any aspect of the course, regardless of where our section was. His tutorials usually consisted of only practice problems; this was helpful but only if you kept up with content.
Probably the best calc TA. Friends would come over to his tutorials cause it makes things easy to understand. Very approachable and humble. Definitely recommend!
Great prof, always easy to understand comments. Things just click when he explains them. Keeps lectures concise, and always answers questions when needed.
Very nice professor with a great sense of humor. Does a very good job of teaching and shows many clear examples to help understanding. His tests are very fair and were no harder than should be expected. I recommend taking his class given the chance.
Good prof that helps you understand the material and how to do the questions. Doing lots of practice questions and all of the homework is key in doing well on the exams, assignments, and quizzes. Show up to the tutorials prepared so that you get the most out of it. He's kind of intimidating at first but don't be afraid to ask questions.
DOES NOT TEACH PROPERLY DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH HIM UNLESS U WANNA STUDY EVEHRTHING ON UR OWN
Overall a pretty good teacher. Straightforward and gets his point across and effectively. Only drawback is that he's a bit intimidating in his demeanor
This professor is weird at every level. Despite diligently completing all practice questions and attending every lecture, the exam was excessively difficult and didn't correlate with the material covered. Avoid taking this course with this instructor. Does NOT communicate well with the students. Check your emails man!
Final exam much harder than midterm. Many questions not covered in class or just briefly mentioned. Homework unrelated to class content. Do not recommend this instructor. Poor at explaining concepts and assumes prior knowledge without sufficient explanation.
Avoid this professor if possible.Absolutely not good at explaining materials, never replies to email. The topics covered on tests are barely mentioned in the lectures, and many exam questions involve a combination of multiple chapters. God bless that I passed.
nah brother, you cannot make a final exam like that outta nowhere. It just aint right. Please consider improving lectures better so we can actually understand the topics and not have to go to youtube and learn it.
Don't listen to mans complaining about the final... these guys yapping. Almost all of the questions could easily be answered if you went to class prepared. Practically everything was discussed in class. People expecting a free 80 just by showing up without doing the work. MOHSEN MY GOAT - Emailed him to extend my assignment and he granted.
Absolute horrible prof, literally will make your life miserable. Impossible to contact through emails (usually take more than 1 week to reply to email). His notes are horrendous to study the materials and everything on the exams is nothing like we've learned. It's like you preparing about oranges but they test you about apples.
He goes through many problems in class and explains clearly. Notes are organized and uploaded to owl consistently. IDK MAYBE he was the one who made this super hard final. maybe not but if he actually made that then UGH.
Professor skips steps, expects us to guess! I followed his method in the midterm, got slammed for missing steps! If he can't teach properly, how can we learn? Stop this 'self-teach' approach. Worst prof ever!
A final exam should serve as a fair and accurate measure of students' grasp of the course material, and in this case, it failed miserably. I would caution future students considering this course to be wary of Professor Mollahajiaghaei's teaching methods and to approach the class with tempered expectations.
Very hard to understand the notes he made and exam was unnecessarily hard
I took math 1229 at Huron this semester, Mohsen is easily the best prof I had in the first semester. Great lectures, he teaches everything step by step with many examples that actually show up on the exam.
I think people were freaked out by the difficulty of the final exam (me included) and started spewing 1 stars. We got our marks today and it was curved heavy since the exam was hard. Lectures was a little scribbly but the content was understandable if you read the textbook. Exam was hard af but we got curved so ez claps.
Good prof, make sure you read the textbook after every topic and do the HW keep up with the content. Final exam was not that hard if you studied and did the practice problems from the class.
I would recommend him %100. His teaching style is the best, he does not just follow the textbook blindly which I like about him the most. He has his own slides and questions, during the lectures he makes really good points which helps you UNDERSTAND. Even if you are not enrolled in his class I would recommend reviewing his notes
This is an online class, u watch videos and learn by urself. It is very easy, if u took grade 12 calc ur fine. I did not take grade 12 calc and I still did great. Make sure u stay on top of the course work and do as many practice exams as possible before MT and final. It's like any other math, practice as much as possible and you'll do fine.
Mohsen is the goat.
His explanations were clear, and he was very helpful when asked for clarification! The in class questions were good preparation for the assessments that were to follow!
Good professor. Lectures are fairly easy to follow and he explains concepts clearly. Explains grading on exams pretty clearly. Easy to reach outside of class in office hours.
Studying the slides + recommended textbook questions is enough, although it's time consuming as heck.
Mollahajiaghaei is not very easy to understand and moves very fast. In comparison to other profs teaching the same course, his lectures are much less informative and much less useful when studying for midterms and the final. He also is very bad at communicating with and setting up office hours.
Goat just because of how good his post class notes are, went to every class, slept through a majority of them, went over his notes to study for the exam and did great
GOAT roll Mohsen
The man. Also have him for 1229. Top tier lecture slides and finishes lecture early.
i love it!
Nice guy, bad teacher. Not engaging whatsoever and has a pretty heavy accent which can make him hard to understand at times. Does not explain concepts clearly, and provides little-to-no feedback on assignments/tests. Very frustrating and difficult class. Will never take a course taught by him again.
Nice guy be he doesn't explain. He uses self-teach technique and expects you to know everything ! Going to his class was useless unless you already understood the lessons.
I took MATH 1225 with Prof. Mohsen. His teaching style is great. He explains calculus concepts with clarity, breaking them down into manageable parts that are easy to understand. His lectures are engaging and he frequently uses many examples to make calculus understandable.
I'll keep this short, seems like he doesn't know what he's teaching, 100-slide-long lectures of just writing, and examples on slides are wrong most of the time. Provides little to no practice questions for exams, posts exam room changes 15 minutes before the exam (has to push back exam time because of it). Would not recommend, take the online stats
Most slides are blank or wrong crossed out with wrong answers. Doesnt provide necessary tables for the midterm or final. Prepare to do ur midterm and final with only a z-table and w/o the t-table, F-table, and Chi-table. No practice questions/exams either. GLHF :D
An excellent instructor! He uploads the lectures before and after each class, which helps us stay organized. He explains concepts thoroughly, using multiple examples. During class, he works through examples step-by-step and makes sure all students grasp the details. The exams were straightforward-if you review the lecture notes, you'll do well.
Mohsen is the goat for 1229. His midterm and final were pretty easy and he provided many sample exams which helped a lot for studying. I would take his classes again.
Great prof.
Made at least one mistake on every exam we had. Provided no practice questions and in some cases provided only a formula and no examples on how to apply it. Disorganized, unhelpful, overall poor job at teaching the course and providing fair exams.
The worst 2242 teacher ever! Get ready to have no practice questions and memorize 20 formulas for each test because he doesn't give you a formula sheet! Course isn't necessarily hard but Mohsen makes it hard! Take a different stats.
Mohsen is approachable, friendly, and always maintains a positive attitude that makes the class enjoyable. He provided three sample exams, and the actual exams were very similar to these samples. Easy to get a good mark in his class.
Easy 90+ just by studying the lecture notes. No homework no quiz, only exams.
Best first year professor at Huron. Very easygoing.
Dr. M is a super nice guy and a so-so teacher. He is relaxed during lectures and gives resources to his students which make up for his so-so teaching. His office hours are also really helpful and overall, he is a solid dude. His three-hour lectures were never three hours, at most, they were 2h.
Taught in a 3-hour night class but often ended 30 mins–1 hour early. The prof don't matter for 1229, as it's the easiest math class (or course?) at Western. Cumulative exam with 4 units: midterm covers 1–2, final covers 3–4. Mostly MC with some short answer. Posts slides with solutions and lots of past exams posted.
3 hr lecture classes ended early but you have to memorize 20 formulas for each test because he doesn't give you a formula sheet! he doesnt explain things clearly. as someone who got 80s-90s in high school math.
I highly recommend Mohsen to anyone taking Math 1229. His teaching style is based on numerous examples to explain concepts. We should memorize all formulas but it is for all instructors in this course. Mohsen is very patient and encourages students to ask questions, making sure that no one is left behind. Most of the class received a score of 80+
This prof's lecture notes is unreadable gibberish. His exams are so hard that not studying for them at all will give you the same outcome. Gives you no practice exams, tells you to rely on the textbook, so you do that and rely on the textbook, and boom you fail. His exams are nothing like anything he does in class. Absolute nightmare. Go w/ Pasini.
Mohsen is organized. Explains topics with many examples, easy to follow. 2 relatively easy midterms, most of the questions similar to examples in lectures notes.
Horrible notes, no clue what the guy writes. No practice tests for midterms or any, does not upload any ta lectures as well very disorganized in my opinion. The annoying part is how hard it is to study for this course not that its hard just have no clue what he wants us to know or not.
I love Molla's teaching style. He goes through a lot of examples and it really helps, as well as his past papers really came in clutch when studying for exams. It's often the same questions but different numbers. I don't recommend taking his night classes tho for 1225 they're too long and it gets really easy to clock out. Study and you'll be fine!
Just finished the final exam, and overall the course was good. The final was fair and similarto past exams. The class are well organized.
had him for 1229, he was a good prof then, had him for calc and could not say the same. He had many weird ways of solving questions and got us lost. However, it was a night class so he tried to jam everything into the class so topics felt rushed. Maybe if it was an afternoon class he would've been better. (Only things graded are midterms and final)
No better prof for 1229 than mohsen
He posted an assignment worth 7% of our grade on OWL without any notice and refused to accept late submissions. Although CS1020 is usually an easy course, it now has the lowest grades among my five CS courses solely because of this assignment. Completely unfair!
Easiest final exam. Most of students finished the exam in 1 hour instead of 3 hours. Easy midterms and assignments.
Lectures were pretty good and answered students questions well, the course was a bit disorganized and the TA's didn't mark a lot of the assignments until the very end, but his quizzes/tests/final were all very fair and there weren't any trick questions on any of the exams.
Though Dr. M's slides are questionable in terms of detail, he makes up for it with great lectures. He always looks out for student questions, and answers them well. On every test and the final, his descriptions of what to prepare were spot on, and the assessments had no surprises. A great professor and course if you show up to class and practice.
I took both Math 1229 and 1225 with Professor Mohsen. His lectures were clear, engaging, and easy to follow. He's an excellent professor who explains concepts well, and he cares about his students. Easy 90+ if you study.
I never take out time to rate my profs, but he was horrible. Does not reply to emails at all even if u send multiple, so unorganized and does not give practice exams.
Mohsen is great. The course is difficult but his lecture note are great.
Best prof! I took CS1020A in the summer (online). Quizzes made up 55% of the grade, and it was easy to get full marks on them. The exam was very similar to the textbook problems. getting a good mark was straightforward.
He was a great prof, he was teaching well and he was trying to explain everything to everyone and the course was pretty simple. I definitely recommend him, i took another class with him this year too The course with him is GPA booster
Honestly very chill course. I didn't buy the textbook or the zybook and studied only off of slides. Not sure if the prof even did lectures as I didn't go. Would be helpful if you've learnt counting and probability in HS math. If you were in IB you would've learnt 95% content. Assignments make up a large chunk of grades and are super easy.
He explains concepts clearly making topics manageable. Lectures are structured and focused on examples. The exams are very similar to the uploaded sample exams, if you practice those uploaded sample exams, you know what to expect. Overall, a great instructor.
