He only uses powerpoint for his lectures. The powerpoint files come along with your textbook so you aren't really missing anything if you miss class. His midterms and final are pretty hard though. They are multiple choice and problems. There's no homework

Not a very helpful teacher. His class is not very exciting. Exams and quizzes are based on the book, they can be hard or easy, depends on how much you. I liked his class because I didn't need to turn any homework.

His lectures are nothelpful. Difficult because he gives you a little over one hour to complete 30 multiple choice and about 5 (long) essay questions (which include multiple steps problems and methods.) There is never any time to go back to check your answers. Be lucky if you even finish halfway.

I took this class in summer and he is a very strict prof. you have to follow every single rule or instruction that he said. or else you will get some points deducted. His exams are extremely hard. He again just read from the ppt. He seldom discuss the problems or exercises. In order to do well in this class, do the problems as many as you can.

Lets just say, I dropped the class and changed my major because of him. VERY boring and monotonous tone on top of some sort of accent. The textbook is literally the thickness of a Websters dictionary, if not thicker. You must know every code, law, rule, number, etc. involved with accounting. If you are not a book worm, don't even dare taking this class.

Do Not Take Naser-Tavakolian for accounting. He does not explain things well and is very unapproachable. His exams are based on things that he briefly goes over in class and not really based on any homework that you do. Even though the material is tough, it is even so much harder just by the way it is teached by him. Can be rude and crude at times.

He can't teach. The only thing he does is reads from his power points and asks students to give him the answers from a new material. He never solves actual problems from the textbook, and gives you a dirty look if you ask him to explain the HW problem. Any accounting class is about solving the problems from the textbook. He doesn't do it at all.

Hard class but a very good instructor to take it with. He is demanding, but explains the subject very well. High quality instructor, will teach you what you need to know from this class.

Terrible, incredibly rude teacher. Very strict grader, gives multi part questions on exams and seriously reduces points for the smallest mistakes. Claims he will boost your grade if you show improvement and attend his office hours, he never did. Spends half the class insulting students and telling them they should change majors. Avoid at all costs!

Not the worst accounting 100 but not the best. He just goes over his power points in class which is basically taken from the book. To pass the class I highly reccomend reading over each chapter in the book frequently. His tests weren't too bad and he is kind of a nice guy. 2 midterms one final, online homework and written homework. Easy to get a C

He tells you what you need to do to succeed and will help those that make the effort to do well. and he does bump up grades significantly if he thinks they've earned it

Professor is the most difficult accounting professor I have ever taken. He is not very helpful and consistently tells his students reconsider the accounting field. 2 midterms 1 final, a current-event summary, financial reporting case, and homework is all required for the class. Most of the class fails his tests. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

He should care for students success in the class and in life. Professor tavakolian would simply go over powerpoint and end of lecture. i would not take him again.

Definitely a hit or miss professor. I failed the first two exams, got a C on the final, and ended up with a B in the class. Do ALL your homework and try not to miss more than one class. As long as you get an A on all your homework, you will easily pass with a C. At the end of the semester, he bumps people's grades depending on attendance and hw.

He really knows his material and if you read ahead, you can learn from his lectures. But he's not very approachable and makes you feel bad for asking questions or just clarifying things in general. His exams are pretty easy in my opinion as long as you study A LOT.

Writing this because I don't think he gets enough credit for caring about students who do the work. If he sees that you're struggling and still doing the work, he will help you out. He will NOT, however, reach out to students who never show up, and I don't see a problem with that. Do the work and he will take that into account when deciding grades.

Yes, he can be strict and his tests can be hard. BUT, like others have said, he will reward those who show up to class and put in effort, even if you struggle. My test scores were horrible, but I still passed because I went to every class and showed him I was serious about doing well by asking for help in his office hours. Not much more to say.

This professor really does the best he can to make sure you pass, but only if you put the effort into the class and give him reason to care. It's really important to do the homework, attend and participate in class, and especially leave a solid impression. He also curves on tests and gives extra credit, but don't depend on that for a good grade.

Please avoid this professor if you can! His midterms are unreasonably hard (average class score 'F' ), the questions aren't like anything we go over in class/homework. He often tries to be nice to students but comes off as condescending. He does curve tests which is helpful. So you can pass the class but don't expect to actually learn much.

I'm surprised this professor has a super low rating-- but then again not everyone learns the same way. I took this class for ACCT 100 and I did fine, mainly because I did extra self-study outside of class. This is the type of class where your efforts is reflected on your grade (like all the other accounting courses). The professor is funny and nice

I only write this because I know he will see it. The most arrogant teacher I've ever had. Says he covers a topic but does not go over examples, does not understand his students or care much for them. Terrible at returning e-mails, miserable man who takes his frustrations out on everyone else and points the figure anywhere else.
