Very great English professor. Gives great feedback and is available to review your essays before they are due. She helped my writing skills a lot. Even though I dread the subject of English, her class made the subject seem a little better. The class is somewhat difficult, but if you get all of your work reviewed it isn't too bad.

Shes a tough grader but a good teacher. Shes a bit disorganized but really does well overall. Classes are kinda boring, which isnt her fault. Overall a really good class.

Honestly, I thought the class was relatively easy. As long as you go to class and do the assigned readings you should be fine. You are expected to know basic literary terms already, i.e. metaphor, alliteration, allusion, symbolism, and to participate in discussions. The most work you do outside of class is reading.

Dr. Livingston does a great job to help encourage everyone to enjoy the class. My favorite thing about her class is that, her class is a discussion not a lecture.

She's a great teacher, and her classes are pretty interesting. Be sure to read what she assigns, as you'll more than likely have a quiz over it.

She was great. You determine the grade you get, and there are plenty of extra credit opportunities. She can be a little too outspoken on her political views but overall great.

Dr. Livingston is amazing! Her class is based around directed discussions that pick apart the assigned literature and address the underlying themes, moral questions, and contextual significance of the stories. Her questions are thought-provoking and insightful, and I was never bored. Do the readings though, because you will be quizzed!

Dr. Livingston is an amazing professor. The papers you write in this class are relatively easy and she lays out exactly what she wants you to do. Her grading is pretty clear and she gives amazing feedback. She assigns short readings almost every class and in the next class there is always the possibility of a quiz.

This professor is a tough grader, however, she clearly provides what it takes to get an A. If you meet with her to review your paper (yes she will review your paper and basically give you notes on how to improve and get that A) then you should have no problem making an A. This professor is very fair while and also keeps the students engaged.

Dr. Livingston is really nice and really cares about what she teaches, but there is one thing that keeps me from loving her class. When you have an online reading, she wants you to print out all of it. I would understand if it was a few pieces of paper, but its ridiculous. When taking this course make sure you have a great supply of ink and paper.

Prof. Livingston is hilarious and engaging. She gives at least one pop quiz per reading material, but the questions are easy and its open book. Even if you don't do well it doesn't affect your grade too much. My favorite part about her class is that she encourages opinions and debates, and is helpful and willing to work with you.

Dr. Livingston's class is fairly easy. She does require that you be present in class as you only are allowed 3 absences before she starts taking 3 points off of your final grade. The papers are easy, she has the rubric out for you and grades by it. She is kinda funny, you'll never feel like banging your head against the desk whilst in her class.

10/10 professor, 10/10 class!! It isnt easy but college isnt easy so at least she makes the class fun and interesting. I dont think I couldve cared about Frankenstein or laughed about the writings of Jane Austen without Professor Livingstons humor, wit, and classroom conversations.

Dr. Livingston is hilarious and quirky! This was my first semester back and I was so nervous, but her class was awesome. Need to go to class to pass, but also she goes over every reading thoroughly. Still read because she gives small quizzes and calls on you for class discussion! Offers lots of extra credit and extensions!

Dr. Livingston is among the very best professors I've ever had. The passion she has for her course material is infectious. In-class discussions were lively and fun thanks to her. Success in this course is easy - just do the reading on time. If you have even a passing interest in Brit Lit, do yourself a favor and take this course!

She is a very funny and great teacher. The lectures are entertaining and funny are you will occasionally take a pop quiz over what you had to read before class. You write 4 essays over the course of the semester which are roughly 1//5 of your grade each. However, she grades really hard. Fun class to take if you don't expect an A.

She is funny/passionate about the class. Although she has her own opinions, she cares more about why you may be coming to your own opinion/interpretation; if you can't give that explanation, then it may be worth reconsidering. But if you don't have access to a printer/money for printing don't take this class. Expect a short quiz each class

This class is pretty easy if you can handle a couple well described essays and basic reading quizzes. She teaches very well and makes this class a breeze if you pay attention and attend class. She has a schedule that changes frequently, but has everything on it for due dates and such.

Dr. Livingston makes what could be the most boring class ever super entertaining! The readings are a lot but the class discussions are always interesting and worth participating in. You have reading quizzes almost every class, one group project, one paper, and two exams.

Dr. Livingston was an amazing professor. Her lectures are class discussion-based and the things she lets us read are not boring at all. Her lectures bring the readings to life which is why her lectures are awesome and funny. Usually, there is a quiz on the reading at the beginning of class, so be aware of that.

This professor is very funny and engaging in her lectures. Although attendance was not mandatory this semester I would not skip class, the class is very quiz heavy over the readings. Otherwise the only major grades are an essay, midterm, group project, and final, which is great!

Do yourself a favor and take Dr. Livingston. She's absolutely hilarious and makes literature actually interesting. There's a pop quiz at the beginning of most classes so read the books. Her class is almost entirely Socratic. You can take notes but as long as you pay attention and participate, the concepts will stick.

I took "Dr. Livingston" for English 1101. I enjoyed her classes and she made her lectures interesting. She had 4 tough major assignments and some minor ones. She's a tough grader, but possible to do well even with mistakes. I only wish she had some announcements on d2l. I needed to look at the class schedule often to know what's due and when.

She will make you love literature in never-before-seen ways. Classes are all Socratic discussions (she asks a question about a text/movie, the class debates it). The texts she selects are fascinating, and she has the best personality; she fosters a great class community. You'll look forward to attending every day. One of the best classes ever!

Dr. Livingston is a great professor. She is very organized, nice, and her work given is pretty clear. There are three major papers and a video project at the end of the semester for your final. I got a B in her class, but I definitely worked for it. I do feel she can be a tough grader. But overall pretty good.

Dr. Livingston is a tough instructor but definitely wants you to succeed. She makes you definitely read. You will not be successful unless you read. NO SPARKNOTES!!! She grades harshly on papers, but she gives you other grades to help your grade. Take her if you want to learn and become a better writer. If you are looking for easy A, go elsewhere!!

This class is not one you can breeze through. You have to put in the work. There were 4 group projects, 1 essay, 2 novels, 2 movies, 1 exam and a ton of short stories in Brit Lit, but class was engaging and she genuinely wants you to think through what you read. SIDE NOTE: COVID-19 did impact this class, so my experience differed slightly.

Dr. Livingston is extremely passionate about her field, and her class sessions are a joy. You will need to read the books, and show up to class. She grades strictly, but will give you an extension on most deadlines if you ask for one. Very enjoyable experience.

Dr. Livingston is incredible. Wonderfully relatable professor who genuinely cares about her class. British Literature was fantastic. The semester is divided up by eras, with respective readings for each. Reading quizzes are frequent. Class is mostly comprised of open discussion. Get involved!

Professor Livingston is a wonderful professor. She cares about your success and is very understanding about any personal life issues/conflicts that you may have. This class will definitely push you, though. Each paper is 25% of the grade and there are 3, so if any are late or missing, you're basically toast, hence why I passed with the grade I did.

She is lively. She will run across the front of the classroom and enact details of the books we read. She really loves British literature and you will never have a dull moment in class. You will need to read the readings assigned, and there is a lot. But you only have one paper and one project due in the class. Attendance in MANDATORY. Caring.

Took her for Brit lit and it was very enjoyable. We had to read a few books throughout the semester but they are very easy to read. Quizzes on what you read in class. Has 3 major projects throughout the semester as well but 2 of them are group projects and aren't difficult. Very lenient on assignments if you talk to her.

She is a very energetic professor, so much so that it is a bit intimidating at times. It feels as if she is a drama teacher who forces her students to do improv, but in this case, improv is busywork and pointless assignments. However, when you talk with her one-on-one, she is very supportive and caring. Three big essays. Just do good with MLA.

Favorite professor ever. She's so funny and makes discussing the readings fun, which makes you WANT to read more. She's very vulgar, so be careful if curse words and sexual humor makes you uncomfortable. She answered my emails quickly and was always willing to help me. Lots of reading, but the books are way more entertaining than you'd think. 11/10

Amazing professor! very passionate about brit lit and is very kind. you have to do the reading to do well in class. you can miss three classes without it affecting your grade. theres a paper and you choose which text you write about and a couple group projects. Shes not a harsh grader, but expects you to meet the criteria she asks for.

Professor Livingston is excellent. However, you need to answer only one question as to if you should take her. Do you like gothic literature, if you like a good novel this class is for you. The only reason I wouldn't take this class again is because I don't personally have an interest for it. Overall Professor Livingston is a fair professor.

Dr. Livingston was a phenomenal professor. Her lectures were incredibly engaging and fun to participate in. Her class is not an easy A but it was still enjoyable to be a part of. If you enjoy Gothic Literature I would highly recommend this class. I would 100% take one of Dr. Livingston's classes again.

Professor Livingston is probably one of the best professors I've ever had for a class! She is very captivating and considerate of other opinions in class. It's not going to be the easiest class that you can get by with doing nothing, but if you apply yourself you will do really well in this class.

Dr L is hands down the best teacher/professor is have ever had. I learned so much and found myself making connections in tv and movies. I have heavily considered getting an degree in English because of her. She is engaging and relates the text to everyone, lots of reading so be prepared. You need to put the work in the get the grade you want.

Not an easy A, but definitely an achievable one if that makes sense. Dr. Livingston is an AMAZING lit professor. Her class is super fun and interesting, and as I said before, it's not super hard, but also not too easy. As long as put in the effort, you should do well. The class consists of reading quizzes, a midterm, an essay, and 2 group projects.

She came off as very harsh and scary at the beginning of the semester, but she really cares about students and their grades! Taking this class was hard but I loved learning more about reading Brit Lit. I suggest choosing to do your group project first and save your essay for mid-semester so you have less to do at the end. Overall very fun.

I cannot rave any higher about Dr. L. She assigns plenty of outside work to do, but her classes are so fun to sit, listen to, and discuss. Participation in class is required, but you write only one paper for the entire semester, and you choose the book (from the list you're given). I absolutely love Dr. Livingston, take her if you can!

She is very very fun to have as a professor, but if you are a slow reader, or do not enjoy reading, DO NOT TAKE HER. She assigns ~100 pages of reading per week, sometimes within 2 days, and quizzes on every section of reading. There is 1 essay, an extremely difficult midterm, and a group project, and that is ~80% of your grade. Very harsh grader.

Dr. Livingston is such a great professor! She is very open and understanding. She does grade pretty hard, so just ensure you are doing what she wants. She pretty much lays it out in the beginning. She's also really funny and makes the class engaging. I'm taking her next semester for Brit Lit, and I'm super excited!

If you don't mind doing work, I would definitely recommend Dr. Livingston. She grades fairly, and it is easy to get high grades as long as you follow the rubrics. The best English teacher at Kennesaw. If you follow all directions, do the readings, and finish homework on time, this class should be an easy B or higher.

I took 1102 in my first semester of college and she made it a breeze. I feel confident in MLA after taking the class. If you make it a month into the class, she opens up and becomes nice. People say she "grades tough," but just do exactly what she says and you'll get the easiest A ever. If you take an English class, take hers.

She's a fair grader and has little assignments here and there, along with a few larger assignments. You do have to write and care about your writing and participate. She had a lot of interesting energy but I think she's a good professor. Also, consider she has a group final project along with another group presentation.

Either I went above and beyond or all the people that screamed "harsh grader" were exaggerating. She's a pretty fair grader. There were some pop quizzes and she's not the best at making schedules but it wasn't that bad. Plus she's funny and knew how to pronounce my name. As long as you don't miss class and keep up with the schedule you'll be fine.

Dr. L is a great professor who I would absolutely take again for a lit class! She focused this course on Gothic Literature (my FAVORITE) and chose interesting pieces to analyze that made this class worth taking. Her guidelines for grading are clear from day 1. Make sure you annotate all your readings! Not hard as long as you try.

You will do very well if you can think critically about your future in the workforce and have an understanding of MLA format. Getting an A in the class is not hard if you are willing to put three hours into each of the three major writing assignments. If you are from North Gwinnett HS you should sandbag your writing (AI). Best pick for ENG 1102. Professor Livingston was funny, weekly assignments could be done in a day, and extra credit was available for each major paper. Most importantly, the research paper for all ENG 1102 courses involved researching your major and how to succeed with it. Since most students need this class and take it early, take it with her.

Dr.Livingston is genuinely a lovely professor. Attendance is mandatory, but there are no essays! Reading is mandatory, and your grade depends on it. She is a pretty tough grader on the group projects, but if you follow the rubric and try hard enough, you get an A. She is really passionate about the subject and is enthusiastic in the best way.

This class is really fun if you actually read the books and are prepared for the discussions. You do have to read a lot but we also watched movies and there is NO essays! Dr. Livingston does a great job creating a safe environment to talk and even though I don't normally talk in class I had no problem participating in the discussions.

Pretty chill person and super funny. Sometimes her grading is "rough" but not enough that its unfair or unreasonable. She genuinely cares about her students, even having conferences with them. What always was great to me is that she genuinely is hilarious (to me) but yah love dr L!

She was great; I really loved her as a teacher. The class was very interesting, and I learned a lot. You need to be prepared to read, but the books are good, and she always has good discussions with the class. She is very sweet, and I like how she makes everyone feel included. I enjoyed my time as Dr. Livingston's student in English 1102. It's true that she does grade harshly but you'll understand exactly why you receive the grade you get on assessments. I think that this class has helped me understand my major a lot better, and I had a lot of fun in her class as she's really funny. Also cares for her students success

Absolutely loved having Dr. L as my professor. Although she is a tough grader, she will explain to the very detail as to why you got the grade you did. Also, she is very hilarious and likes to keep everyone involved. Do be ready to read because that is the entirety of this classwork.. NO ESSAYS. And we got to watch movies too. Loved having her.
