Can bearly speak english. explains everything wrong, confused the whole class. Prepare to teach yourself if you take her class.
If you have to take 0024, you need a prof who will prepare you for the exit exam. Here she is. You will learn in her class or you will quit. She is demanding and sometimes ****y but she GETS THE JOB DONE!
this teacher can barely speak and half of the time she does not know what she is doing and is always writing the wrong problems on the board if it wasnt that i already knew what she was teaching i would have failed because i would not have been able to understand **** she was saying
Works problems out on the board without explaining in detail the process or procedure, lakes in definitions of process she works on the board, very unclear... Wants to teach well, she should have another teacher sit in and give her advice, then she would be much more succesful at the art of teaching
Wonderful teacher. goes above ans beeyond to help me. I am getting a's and b's in her class. wisxh she could teach the next math i will be taking.
She is very helpful, despite what everyone says, i went into that class knowing absolutley no math and now im leaving with a 105% average, pay attention, do the work, and youll be very pleased with your grade. tests are easy, that is, if you study

broken english, originally from thailand. but build a bridge and get over yourself!!. she is a great teacher and if you study you can get an A. she even helped students during tests, can you believe that? she wants everyone to pass. i went in knowing zip and came out with 110% average, A+. wish she taught 0024.
She is one of the best teachers I ever had!!!! Really wants everyone to pass! Helps you with any questions and gives out extra credit to help raise everyones grade, & gives multiple choice tests! Wish she taught intermediate.
If you want help, do not take this professor. It took about a week just to get use to her accent. If anyone asks a question in class she will just make you look stupid or get mad at you. Yeah her tests are easy because they're multiple choice. But if you don't learn anything then mulitple choice tests arent of any use.
I had a very rough time in this class being that I am HORRIBLE in math. She has an accent which makes it hard to learn and she doesnt go over things enough for the people who don't understand. I wouldn't take her again. I also wouldn't recommend her. Only good thing is multiple choice tests.
She is horrible , she has favorites classes.She will tell one class she doesn't do extra credit and the itherget Extra credit every test.She messes up the grades on your test and has to regrade things .She doesn't give any homework , her stupid multiple choice test don't help you learn.This is a horrbile class , i do not reccomend this class to any
She has an accent that you have to get over. But she does want the students to pass, she helps you during test even when she gives out the pop quizzes, she'll go over it and tell you that something needs to be fixed.shes not the best but if you pay attention and take notes you'll pass.

You can't understand not one thing she is saying. She jumps from one section to other so basically you got to teach yourself or get a tutor.
she is a really good teacher, very lineant and understanding her tests are all the homework reviews and worksheets, she is a very sweet lady. It takes a little while for you to get used to her accent but she is an 8 out of 10
I lover her she is really sweet she makes sure you understand. She repeats what was taught from the previous class and gives test reviews

Not good at all. don't speak clear, she mumbles. when i asked for help on a problem she yelled at me! if you are really good at math take, if you are not good in math take someone else.
I Love her! She is very sweet and goes over each lesson thourghly. Tells you exactly what will be on tests. She has a heavy accent though, so you have to pay attention and give it your all!!! She is fair and willing to help if your willing to try hard!
You want to take this Professor; Think twice Barely speak English, You ask question, you will prompt to read the book and you will get even worse with her unclearly answers. Save you money and select another professor. Worse experience I ever had.
She barely speaks english, doesn't explain anything you ask. The last thing you need to do is ask a question, she gets all pms on you and tells you not to waste her time. Simple questions are also a mental strain for her. Wouldn't recommend her.
shes so sweet, her accent is tough at first but she is very helpful and reviews everything on tests, shes nice and will help you in her office in you need any!

Horrible class. Teacher does not speak good english at all. The assignments and tests are not clear. I had to teach myself the material or get a tutor. If you are great at math then you wont have a probelm. But if you have trouble... i definetly would not reccomend her.
Has a very thick accent but apart from that she was easy. Recieved an A, but I studied. If you want an "easier" professor, take Brezner.
Can you say thick accent?? Do not take her. Only a few students passed in my class. You have to be really listening and what she is saying take Christian Sabua he is better...
OK. She has a thick accent and it's hard sometimes, but I feel she knows the student's needs nowadays. She even remembers which students will go to the testing center for tests. Outside of the classroom, she is the nicest and sweetest person EVER!
This teacher was horrible. Yeah she has a really strong accent but that has nothing to do with it. She pretty much flew through all the lessons and never wanted to answer any questions. She'd start raising her voice and yelling if you didn't get it and if you didn't understand she'd just send you to a math workshop. You have to do the math lab but
She was a little hard to understand at times, however she didn't assign homework and was helpful if you had questions. If you have basic understanding of math and only need a refresher course this would be the perfect class. I only passed with a C but that was because I never went to the math lab and never did any homework (didn't study at all)
Ms.Galland is a really nice teacher and very easy going.She also doesnt check homework.She does have a very strong accent though which makes what shes saying very unclear at times.All in all if you can understand her its an easy A.

TAKE HER, ok, she may have thick accent but she is VERY easy to pass if you just take her notes and study. She is very sweet and willing to help, for MAT0024 you don't have to study every night just make sure you understand what is going on in the lesson. Was not a hard class and besides her accent it was easy to understand.

All i can say is DO NOT TAKE HER. her English is terrible, and she's a terrible teacher. she seriously act like she has a hard time explaining and she explains in a way we couldn't understand.when u dnt understand & ask questions she gets irritated. I got D's on all of her test except one.i got so lucky on the final & passed her class with a 70%.
if you take this teacher and you're not good with math, I'd highly recommend you to make sure you buy the solutions manual to help you understand your homework problems in details because this lady is a terrible teacher. The solutions manual will help you ALOT
Nice Lady & No HW, Not strict w/ attendance either! Thats about it for the pro's. Very difficult to understand, not the best teacher (We usually corrected her mistakes while she did the problems on the board), not very organized. I'd recommend this class only if you just need a refresher.
She is a good professor. I like her. She gives review notes before the exam. Its true she yells, bcoz some students are not listening and being disrespectful. They are the people who complain a lot but are lazy to study. If you just listen well and practice each lesson, u will do fine. I took her for MAT0012 and 0024.
Great professor! Very helpful and knowledgeable! when you get past her oriental accent you will appreciate all she has to offer and understand learning difficult Algebra.
Nice lady, students take advantage of her and bother her, so she ends up shouting and interrupting the class few times. Math is not my thing but I am able to handle it with her.

First day of class, I could not understand a single word she was saying. I don't know why she is teaching college students. I dropped the class because I didn't see any use in spending my money and not being able to comprehend a word she is saying. I withdrew after the first day.

She's a GREAT Professor. If you listen and pay attention she is very clear and teaches step-by-step. Just like ANY math class if you skip or expect to learn by sitting there you won't pass. I've now taken MAT0033 and MAC1105 and without her lessons in 0024 wouldn't have received the A's in both of thoses classes in addition to hers. TAKE HER!

She does know her stuff, though she doesn't like you to tell her anything about the way she teaches. I passed with an A, as long as you focus you'll be fine. Her English is not that too bad either. Take her!!!
I must say she wasn't that great of a teacher fro 0024 compared to 0012. Come to class and pay attention and everything will be a breeze. Take her she's nice and is a GREATT professor.
Galland was a pretty good professor. If you pay attention and show effort in her class, she will gladly spend extra time with you if you need it. It is only when she suspects that you are taking advantage of her that she really starts to get angry when you ask questions. Her accent isn't too difficult to understand if you listen closely.
True that her accent is heavy and at times she's hard to understand, she's still very interested in making sure her students succeed. She doesn't mind hanging back after class to answer any questions. Tests are easy and she reviews the content the class prior. The best part of her teaching is she breaks every problem down step by step.

If you pay attention there is no problem to understand , yes she has a heavy accent but she is a great professor and she will take time to help students after or before class.She is also a nice person and I think some students take advantage of that. I am horrible at math. I took this class and originally picked anthony delise. I guess Ms. Galland filled in..She is a terrible teacher.Her accent isnt her problem its her rudeness. Dont expect her to answer any of your questions while she is teaching. If you arent strong in math do not take her... I repeat DONT TAKE HER!!
A truly, wonderful professor. She is Thai, so her accent is rather heavy and she is a bit outdated with her Americanisms. When it comes to Math, she is gifted and will go so far to help you. Come to class, take notes, ask questions, speak to her whenever you want/need. I would take her for all of my math if she taught it. Wonderful teacher!
Harsh accent hard to understand. Get a different teacher if you want help. She gets rude. Passed class w/ a B only from tutoring and she failed me cuz I didn't pass the exit exam by 1 point...heartless. Loss financial aid and scholar ship. She didn't care about the 1 point either. She might stay after class to help if you need it, but accent ouch.
She sub'd for our Prof, was late to class, yelled at us, was rude/condescending when we asked her to explain the steps to the problem. Most students went to the math lab, our prof had to reteach all of the material when they came back. I'm an A student, and I struggled with her, if you need any help at all, don't take her.
I actually didnt have this teacher for a whole semester. She filled in as a sub for my real professor for a week; and it was literally the worst experience. She is not very clear, with a heavy accent, she's rude and does not want to help students actually learn. By the book. A guy is in my current class because he failed her class last semester.
I originally took this class with another professor and she ended up filling in. Huge dissapointment ! I struggle with math and she didnt help me at all! I would tell her I didnt understand and she would say "well what do you want me to do about it , Go home and study!" I struggled and constantly went to the math lab which helped me pas with a B.

Accent, very difficult to understand, but if you really pay attention you will understand. She doesn't like to stop and explain, so make sure you write all notes down clearly & go to the lab. All and all she really knows her stuff, pay attention and participate, you will pass.
unhelpful, does not explain how to do the work; just write out & completes the problem herself then expects us to understand. this is a pre rec class where most students need a lot of help & she will not give it if you ask, only will tell you to go to the lab to figure it out. she says she doesnt have time for questions then lets class out early.
Heavy accent, doesn't really like to ask questions, unless you ask her after class, go to the lab, that's where you will get most of your learning from, she's nice, but can be strict. you really need to pay attention, because if not you will be lost I like her as a person but as a teacher a litle confusing, she could help students out a little more

I strongly recommend you do NOT take this teacher. She has a very heave accent and it's hard to understand what she says at times. She doesn't like answering questions, going over material, or 1 on 1 learning with students. One of the worst teachers I've ever had in my life.
She is hard to understand at times but she does show you how to do the problems. You should mostly teach yourself from the book to fully understand how to work the problems. She is a nice lady once you give her a chance! But doesn't like when you ask questions in a negative manor! Do your homework and you will be fine:)
SHM..She has a accent but its not that hard to understand what she is saying, however, she has one teaching style which is not always easy and she will not deviate from it. Prof. has a thick accent yet, she tries her best to explain the material. You have to wait until she is done w the lecture to ask questions. Please don't be rude or she won't help. The worst! Her idea of teaching is showing 1-2 min videos of ea. problem for an hour of the class, then last 15mins she hands out a worksheet. She doesn't stop the videos to teach & if you have questions, she tells you to go home and read the book or rewatch the clips. Not very helpful at all. STRICT late policy! More of a proctor, not a teacher!

currently taking this class online and professor is always sending out emails with reminders and at the bottom always stating remember i'am here for you which is funny to me because you can send emails and guess what, you get no reply so there's really no one to guide you of you get lost along the way so much for being there for the students.
Im currently in this class with needed to take my final by tomorrow,. She is nice and every time I emailed her she responded quickly. She extended one of my assignments with out me asking because I was late. It is a lot of work in ALEKS. 4 practice tests 3 proctored. the real tests are harder than the practice tests!
The professor was actually really nice and helpful but I took this as a 7 week class and will never do that again. There is a lot of work in Aleks. As long as you do your work and pay attention to what youre doing you should pass. I only contacted her once but she replied and was very nice. No issues with her at all.
Took her 8am class Spring 2017. Worst mistake ever. She has a very strong accent, & that alone is enough to prevent you from falling asleep in class & that makes it difficult to understand anything she says. She only teaches through videos and snaps at students when they ask for help. I was passing but then I failed the final and she failed me!!
