Monica was an amazing teacher to have for my first semester, she gives easy to understand step-by-step directions for every assignment and is always there if you have any questions. She is extremly fair and as long as you follow along in class and open the book every once in a while you'll get an A.

Monica is one of the greatest teachers. If you are taking the Strat. for college success course pick her. You have to go to class... its manditory and a big part of your grade but she makes it fun. She randomly brings in snacks and has days where you get to play games. She is one of my fav teachers to date. Easy tests, final is directly from tests.

Boring, boring, boring! While Monica can be nice, she talks the entire class then gets angry if she catches you talking. This class is pretty much common sense so it is easy but it is excruciatingly boring. She is pretty strict about being late, and also about absences.

Monica is the best professor I've had this semester. She is a very sweet person with a wild imagination witch is a good thing because she makes the class very entertaining and fun. Great teacher. She is funny, relaxed, and she cares. Tests are a little tricky, but if you do the homework you are guarenteed a good grade. If you miss a class, jus call or email her and she gets right back to you. Class is very informative. She makes sure you know whats going on when it comes to your education and the college.Definitely reccomend

It's true that this class is similar to an 8th grader's crash course before graduating, but Hamlin does a really great job of making effective use of everyone's time. Her discussions are very clear and her tests simple as can be. She's no-nonsense, but very sweet as long as you give respect. By the end you'll be sad to say good bye.

Monica is a very sweet teacher, but she is also very serious. Not an "Easy A". Great effort is necessary. I really had to try for an 'A'. READ ALL DIRECTIONS AND LEAVE NOTHING BLANK! If a question tells you to list things you didn't understand, but you understood everything, write "N/A." Leaving it blank will cost you points for some reason.

Very AMAZING! You do alot of busy work, you need the book for sure, alot of reading. The tests are from the chapters in the book and her lectures and handouts. She is crystal clear on what she wants and expects. She wants you to succeed!!! BEST PROFESSOR.

Do ALL your homework. You do need the book for this class, the tests come from reading the textbook, as well as the teacher's lectures and homework assignments. Monica is a great teacher and an AWESOME person. Take her class, you will not regret it!!

Very nice person and teacher, I have no complaint about the professor, just the subject matter, it was sooo annoying to have to sit through this class, mostly common sense, things you should already know, I like more challenging classes, I did not make any effort for this class almost quit out of sheer frustration, and got a B so its defo an easyA

Great Teacher Overall

Monica is very motherly and pleasant. I would HIGHLY recommend her. The class atmosphere is very open and safe. Yes, it's easy and pointless, but this course is required for most taking it. Complaining is futile. Please don't be the "God, this sucks! I'm too good for this!" guy, you're bringing everyone down. Just try to have fun.

Monica is awesome. She cares about every single one of her students, and advises multiple ways to help them succeed with their WHOLE college career, not just her class. She teaches from the heart, and is very motivated from her work. If you put the work in, you will pass no problem. She also does not condone cussing, so care of your vocabulary.

Professor Hamlin is very thorough and clear about everything. I was extremely annoyed about having to take this class, but in the end, I enjoyed it because of her approach, and so did the other students. She makes it so that you have no choice but to participate, and the entire class left friends! Grateful that I had her in my first semester.

Monica is the best. She really opens you to new ideas and strategies. It's a life changing course, I loved it. I totally would recommend taking Monica for SLS1501! On the first day, you are given your syllabus with all of your assignments and tests including the number of points. Do your work, show up to class and everything will be easy! Monica is the sweetest and cares about her students. If you are taking sls1501, take her!!!!

I will never regret taking Monica for SLS, her curriculum is very clear and easy, and her class really does help you get through your first semester of college at Pbsc. She's great, really.

Easy Easy A. Monica is so sweet and gives really inspirational lectures. Picked up some things from this class that will come in handy for future classes. I know this class is mandatory to graduate, so if you are looking for something with minimal stress, Monica's class is a great choice.

Monica is the best professor for SLS1501! Entire class schedule on the syllabus. Assignments & grading are straightforward. Homework is frequent but easy. Four tests of 25 multiple choice questions based on the textbook, homework & class discussions. One big project at the end of the semester. Final is all questions from previous tests.

Professor Hamlin is so nice & helpful. The usual class consist of powerpoints and taking notes. There's one big project at the end of the semester. The class does require a decent amount of reading; the material may be common sense but it's better to read just in case because the test is based of the book, PowerPoint, and handouts.

She literally talks the whole entire time , I don't think she ever takes a breath . I zone out in her class everyday she treats us like we are 2 years old , we took an hour & 15 mins to just explain a planner. If you are ready for your ears to fall off because she talks so much and so fast take her class (:

she will talk your ear off, she is really boring. she's like, watching paint dry boring but she is a pleasant person she doesn't know how to shut up. everything is on the syllabus and you NEED your planner in her class. don't take her at night, cause like I said she's boring

Best professor for sls. super easy even if she treats you like you are 5. the test are common sense. it is very hard to fail this class. Attendance is absolutely mandatory and she is not lenient about it at all.

She definitely has muuuch more patience than I do, it's amazing. She's also extremely clear, I assure you you'll know exactly what is expected of you at all times. She has an endless amount of information to share with you and it's stuff you'll ACTUALLY use in school and life.

I took this class in my first semester and at the begin I though it was very difficult class because she gave to us a lot of papers to do as a homework, but then I understand the purpose of that papers. This class can help with your organization and time management. If you do all the homework you will have an A! SHE IS SO SWEET!!!!!!!

Amazing teacher. she is caring respectful and responsible. regarding to the SLS 1501 the class is easy, but people do fail it so don't oversee your assignments. I would definitely recommend her to future students.

Monica is just plain awesome! Do all the assignments and go over the chapters she assigns for the tests and you will pass without a doubt! Make sure you attend all of her classes because she takes points off for tardiness and absence. Late assignments can be turned in before the "late work deadline". Take her for SLS1501.

Monica is so nice. Always tells you what is expected and what you need to do. But the class is very and you get a lot of papers. If you dont show up you definitely will not pass the class. If you have to take SLS 1501 I do recommend Monica

Best professor I've had yet, super fun and energetic. Her lectures don't even feel like lectures. She doesn't use PBSC Blackboard and makes you keep track of how many points you receive so the grading can be frustrating. Lots of assignments but doesn't take much effort to do them. Show up and do every assignment and its an easy A.

Very easy class! All her work is extremely easy, just have to do it to get good grades. All 4 test she gives are super easy, dont even need to study (her final exam is 50 questions all taken from the 4 test she gave throughout). Super nice professor, just don't have your phone out. The only bad thing was that it was boring at times. EASY A!!

Monica was a true gem. She gave easy work and had a clear grading system. Some assignments will be due online. If you miss class you can make it up during another. If you dont show up to 4 classes you will get dropped from the class. Show up and receive extra credit. Lowest test grade will be dropped at end of the semester.

Absolutely one of the best professors I ever had. She truly makes the lectures engaging and interesting and always makes jokes so we listen more and not boring and we doze off. She always gives advice on how to make out lives and college career better. She goes above and beyond with her class. Perfect example of what a professor is supposed to be.

Many people think this class is a waste of time but it's really not. While taking this class I learned a lot about time management, money, and college resources which is very important.

She's awesome! Everything is organized; she gives a clear syllabus at the beginning, so you know what to expect! You have to read the assignments very carefully and make sure to complete all. Even if it's past the due date, she will take the assignment and give you some points! The lectures are entertaining and dynamic.
