She's the BEST! Super fun and hilarious! She makes the class really easy and enjoyable. Come to class everyday, look over the power points, and you'll get an easy A. No need to read, just pay attention!
Professor Maddox is awesome! She really cares about her students. The class is pretty easy. Minimal studying and she goes over the questions that are going to be on the tests. A few projects but nothing big. She can also be pretty funny. Take her!
Great Professor! She actually cares about her students and genuinely wants each and every one to succeed. Even though Fitness for Living is an easy class, she made it entertaining enough that I wanted to go to class even though most of the information is common sense. Take her class, you will not regret it!
Take her! She cares about her students inside and outside of the classroom. Her class is pretty easy. Do your labs and show up and it will be an easy A. She also reviews before tests!
LOVED HER. She really wants to help you, not only with the class but with general life advice. I wish we were friends in real life because she is by far the coolest adult ever. Students that already have taken her even come back to visit. Clear grader. Will help if you ask for it. Come to class or she will call you out on it. She knows her stuff.
Took for advanced strength and aerobic training. She's a tiny ball of energy. I did not work out before this class. Wanted to drop the class after leg day! You actually learn the proper way to work out and how to create workout programs. No book. Midterm and final are pretty easy if you look over power points. I actually want to work out now
Best professor I've ever had. I saw her as a mom instead of a teacher. She could preach some real stuff man. I love this woman so much. You forget that you're even in a wellness class cause she speaks the truth and makes lectures interesting. I will definitely miss having her. She's really there for you
Best professor ever!!!! She truly cares about her students and is always willing to help. Keeps lectures super entertaining & workouts fun. Participation matters!! Do your homework and come to class and you'll get an A.
There are no test, only discussions in class and online assessments due about every two weeks, that take only about 30 minutes to complete. Make it to class because I promise you will enjoy plus it is a part of your grade. Monica is a great person and class in enjoyable! It is a great time to relax and be yourself while learning.
Took her class over the Summer. She is the BEST! Take her, you will not regret it. Easy A as long as you do the assignments.
Professor Maddox is really funny and inspirations. I had never been in a weight room before this class but she did not pressure me, make me feel bad or waste my time. I learned a lot from her, she is strong on the inside and out. You also get to use partners on midterm and finals
Dr. Maddox is the best teacher on this campus!!!! She's very inspirational & actually works with you. She is very helpful & there for you along the way. She is also funny & keeps class fun. I took her class @8pm & i was happier to be there than at home everytime!
Ms. Maddox is hands down one of the best professors I've ever encountered and I've definitely developed a large amount of respect for her not only as a professor, but as a person. She legitimately cares for each of her students as if they were her own children and will do anything in her power to help them succeed whether in class or everyday life.
She is amazing! She is so fun and entertaining. The class is very easy, but there are a lot of online assignments. You use a program called Bearface and it is a bit pricey. This program has your book and assignments (it's like another D2L). Her midterm and final is a bit tough, but the other assignments will boost your grade A LOT. Take her!
I LOVE HER SO MUCH! She is a gem! Her lectures are wonderful, I was excited to attend twice a week! If you do the assignments, you'll get an easy A. Her midterm and final are kinda tough, but if you do well on the other assignments then it wont affect you. I wish she taught other classes so I could take her again! 10/10 would recommend!
She is a real gem, such a good prof! She has shown us some TED Talks that truly motivate you. There is an online learning system called Bearface and we have 6 modules to do on it throughout the semester, but they're not hard at all. The textbook is also on there, but reading isn't NECESSARY at all! Just do the modules (EASY) and you'll pass!
TAKE MONICA MADDOX FOR WELLNESS!!!!!! You WILL miss out if she isn't your Prof. She has been by far the kindest, funniest and most amazing person I have met on campus. You will have someone to go to for anything after this class for sure. I cannot stress enough that she is the one you should take hands down. Stop searching and register for her now!
Greatest teacher I have had! If you go to class you cant fail and she makes them fun and interesting! If you actually show up and try she will make sure you do well! Just a genuine and great person! If you do your work you will get an A only about 20% of my grade was from tests and it is easy work! She is the Best!
This has been my favorite professor so far at KSU. She gives hilarious lectures that make the otherwise boring content enjoyable. She truly cares about her students and works with you to help you pass. If you do the required modules you will pass with an A.
I really enjoyed her lectures during class. Majority of the work is all done online and came straight from her notes. Easy class just show up and listen.
Amazing teacher! You can tell she cares greatly about the subject and her students. She cares in the best way and was incredibly helpful as well as encouraging. I took her at Chatt Tech for her first year teaching A&P lab and she is just the absolute best. I can't say enough good things about her.
Horrible class and professor, do not recommend to anyone. Very snarky and makes the class much harder and more time-consuming than it should be. AVOID HER!!!
Dr. Maddox is such a charismatic woman and wants all her students to do well. However, there isn't much motivation to complete classwork, so it was hard to become motivated to actually learn the material and study for exams. If you can get by with your own motivation, take her! But if not I would recommend another lab professor for sure.
All she does is read off of her powerpoints. She gets snappy when people ask her questions, or she'll flat out ignore questions. Study Guides help a little, but most of the time, they do not match up to what's on her tests. She has her nice moments, but overall, a mess.
I loved having Dr.M as my professor. I don't usually get close to my professors, but she truly was a big encouragement to me. She does a great job of explaining topics and makes it very clear what she will be testing on. She was extremely accessible outside of class and would go over any exam I wanted. Please take her!! you wont regret it!
Professor Maddox is very caring and wants her students to do well; however, the execution is awful. Her lectures are extremely long, and much of the information is useless for tests. Study guides and other things are given for test prep, but her tests do not line up with that study material. She is great for lab, but lecture has been a nightmare.
I enjoyed Anatomy1 alot and did very well, but Anatomy 2 has easily been one of the most taxing, stressful classes Ive taken in 3 years of college. Tests are horrible, class averages for tests were even worse. Around 60% for the most part. As someone who likes Anatomy, for my passion to just be drained the way it was, its very sad. Dont take her
I would not recommend Dr. Maddox. The main reason is that I felt like I could not reach out to her because of her attitude in class. The test were manageable at first but got more impossible through out the semester. She never finishes her power points with 100's of slides. I was an A B student before this class and I've never felt more dumb.
A&P 2 was extremely hard only because she was so disorganized. she would get angry at the class at times and threatened to take away our one extra credit opportunity. she said the class avg was too high so she made the exams harder so the class avg was a 60. she never finishes the 100+ slide ppts so this class is just you teaching yourself.
WORST PROFESSOR ive ever had Not sure how she got these positive reviews, probably from her other classes she used to teach she needs to stick with that. Purposefully ignores emails and questions, speeds through 50 or more slides in one lecture, unprofessional and never explains things thoroughly. PLEASE find someone better & more professional!!
Pretends to care in lecture, but does nothing to help the class. Acted like an overly hard extra credit assignment worth 0.05% of our overall grade was our saving grace. Happy with a 60 class average. Said extra points would be given back, but then changed her mind. Unhelpful in lectures-- just reads from a 100+ slide ppt. You have to teach urself
Dr. Maddox is a kind soul. However, kindness does not make a great A&P instructor. From day one, she was unprepared to teach the class, and by the last day very little had changed. She needs to sit through A&P with those who normally teach the class so that she can understand the pacing of instruction as well as what material is most important.
Dr. Maddox was a very kind woman (or appeared to be), but it was her first time teaching Anatomy 2 and you could tell. Most disorganized class I've ever had. 300-400 slide power points of info, and they're updated a day before the test so you don't have time to learn them. Study guides don't match tests. Snapped at students during lecture. Avoid.
Maddox is a great person but such a bad professor. She is so unorganized and difficult. Her study guides were useless and her powerpoints had so many slides that it made studying so much harder. This was my second time taking this class yet I still almost ended up with a low grade bc shes that difficult. Find another prof tbh
Professor Maddox tries to pass off her blatant rude and disrespectful attitude as "sassy" during her first day of class but do not be fooled. She does not respond to emails, she just reads from her powerpoints, which she does not finish, and she is completely unorganized but will blame the students for it. Cares more about a low test average.
Literally the worst professor that I have had during the 3 semesters Ive been in college. Doesn't communicate with students, reads off her 100+ slide ppts, doesn't even finish the ppts, and she is just plain rude to students. She pretends to care, but her actions show otherwise. I made an A in her class, but you need to avoid her.
AVOID. Thought I'd enjoy this class bc I loved A&P I, but did not. One of the most stressful classes I've taken. Doesn't care about students, but makes herself out to be nice and understanding. Lectures were next to useless attending because she just read from PPT. Find professors from Youtube, etc. to learn the information (esp. auditory learners)
Dr. Maddox is the BEST professor I have had thus far at KSU. The way she teaches allowed me to fully understand the material. She is truly there to help her students and those who talked about her in the group chat, were the ones who didn't want to work hard for their grades. Don't expect grades to be handed to you and stay focused. best teacher!
She seems like a nice lady but the exams were unnecessarily difficult. It felt like she was singlehandedly trying to make students reconsider their major. A&P II is supposed to be rigorous but it felt like exams weren't testing what was on study guides. Attendance counts. Be prepared to teach yourself, use study groups, youtube videos.
Be prepared to be STRESSED. Teaching A&P II is not her calling. Exams are weighted heaviest out of your grades and are extremely difficult. It is still possible to get a decent grade but only if you devote all your time to this course. I am not a bitter, lazy student either.. have always gotten B's and mostly A's but this class was horrible.
I studied very hard to receive my A in this class, but this professor is literally the worse professor ever. She snapped on students multiple times during lectures, and there were a few instances where she TOOK AWAY someone's points. She uploads 100+ slide ppts and only goes over 20 slides, and blames students for not finishing. Don't take her.
She reads off 200+ slide ppts in lecture. Study guide material is never actually on exams. 70 question exams on lockdown/respondus with 60 minutes to take it. She did not listen to students' feedback/concerns when issues were brought up... just called us lazy. Honestly shocked I held onto my B in the class. Study questions @ the end of chapters!
Dr. Maddox was super. Very concerned and encouraging. The only negative was the tests were like trivia games. I studied hours and hours and still didn't know how to answer some of the questions.
I made an A in this class but I had to work very hard for it You have to STUDY HARD! Dont listen to the people saying that she is a good prof, she is not. She can be very snappy and she never finishes going over her 100+ slide powerpoints. I taught myself everything the entire semester. Please take a different professor if you have the chance.
Stay away from Maddox. Not only did I think she was bad, she made me question being a Nursing major. She reads off of her powerpoints, finished 20% of it, and excepts us to know the rest(100s of slides). Her study guides never reflect what is on her tests. Plus, she thinks a 62% class average is "perfectly fine" but an 81 is too high... avoid.
I feel like she has ADHD. Every mini lecture before lab was all over the place and seemed unprepared. Her computers never worked and that was annoying (during covid). It's hard because it's Anatomy II but if you just do the work and study your lab manual you'll be fine.
The class was fine. I felt it was harder than it should have been. However, I will not take Maddox b/c of the charecter she showed me during the course. I missed an exam b/c of covid and emailed when she told me too so I could retake test. She didn't reset test for 3 weeks and was mad with me because I did what she told me to do. Best KSU A&P prof.
I took her for 2221 Lab it was ALWAYS unorganized ! At least 80% of the time her computer was not working or she would be talking to somebody at her house in the background rather than teaching. She would speed through the lectures and put it on us to learn the material so she could leave. I wouldnt recommend her.
I'm sure she is a very kind and warm person. But just avoid her if you need to take any AP classes. You might get a decent grade because she does try to work with the students, but it will be the most stressful four months of your life. If you must take her, just be prepared to teach yourself and be diligent.
Maddox is literally the worst professor. I had to teach myself everything because all she did was read off her powerpoints, and she had a rude attitude and is misleading. I barely got an A, but I studied so much for it. She should not be teaching anatomy. Avoid her.
It's A&P2 lab, so expect to treat the lab manual like the Bible. Dr. Maddox was great in lab so I'm not sure what other reviews are reflecting. She emphasizes what is necessary to know for exams and keeps the class engaged. She can be a bit scatterbrained with stories, but she recognizes it and brings the instruction back. Would take for lab again.
Do not take Professor Maddox. She gives you 150+ slides for each system and does not finish most of the time. She is not understanding when given valid reasons on missing assignments. Also, I felt like I had to teach myself the entire class.
At the beginning of the semester Dr. Maddox told the class it was more of a teach yourself class so you have to go with that mindset. She doesn't baby students and is upfront about class expectations. Wasn't a terrible professor but don't take her if you aren't willing to study on your own. A&P 2 is tough but I personally liked her.
AVOID if you can. Tests are extra detailed, tells the class search on youtube for someone who can explain better for you. PPW are 150 slides each chapter, in class goes over 15 slides if that. Do not take her for lecture part.
Dr. Maddox is a good professor teaching a very hard class. She does the best she can and provides a good amount of extra credit. Her powerpoints are good but they come straight from the book so it is just like reading the book. Do the homework and do all of the extra to help buffer the grades of the test as they weigh the most.
Each unit is 3 chapters and she makes the powerpoints 150 slides each. The slides are messy and unorganized so the textbook might be better. The tests are super detailed and hard to prepare for. A&P2 is already a hard class but it felt like she made it harder. Lots of homework and the tests are worth way too much. Not very understanding either.
Tests were okay. Class was pretty short because she was tired most of the time and dismissed us before the time ended. Each class probably lasted like 30 minutes when it was a 2.5 hour class. You will need to do plenty of independent learning. Also, something is always wrong with her mic, so even when she chooses to teach, you cant even hear her.
Do not get me wrong, anatomy is a hard class. Therefore, I think some people on rate my professor are rating more based on the class than the professor. Professor Maddox wants you to succeed. You will have to study in this class, but professor Maddox will be sure that you know what to expect on the exams and will make sure you know what to study.
Professor Maddox is very caring and funny. However, this is an anatomy class. It will be hard. She will do her best to prepare you for the tests. As long as you show up to class and study outside of class you will pass the class. I enjoyed Professor Maddoxs lectures so much I actually am taking her for my anatomy 2 lab next semester!
She is amazing. She genuinely cares for her students and wants you to succeed. Some times her lectures may be confusing but if you ask for help she will clear everything up and make sure you understand it. You have to work for the grade because it is anatomy after all. She is by far the best professor I have had at KSU.
Her exams were very easy, you just had to study from the lab manual and the diagrams. She provided extra help during exam week and they helped so much. You could only miss 2 days of lab or you would automatically fail and there was only 1 extra credit assignment given out. Overall, very nice and respectful!
Dr. Maddox is absolutely amazing. She really wants students to make an effort to meet her and she's really easy to talk to. She does have really long powerpoints and all of the information in them isn't always necessary. She puts lots of resources on D2L to help study. As long as you go to class, go through the things she puts online you'll be ok.
In class assignments are super easy and she helps your through them. Make sure to take notes when she's explaining during class. Tests can be a little difficult, you have to know EVERYTHING in the unit. Dr. Maddox is a great teacher though, I really enjoyed her class.
Great professor! Her class was very easy. Her tests test only what's in her PowerPoint. The questions are straightforward and aren't trick questions. She is nice and approachable if you have any questions at all. I would take her again for another course. She does talk very very fast so be ready for that.
Anatomy 1 was soo much fun with her. I loved her lectures and her motivational speechs. She is inspiring and cares about her students. Wish I could take her again in the fall:)
I will say it again and again. I love this professor! I had her for A&P 1 Lecture and I made sure to get her for a class the next semester too. I just finished up my second semester with Dr. Maddox, this time I had her for A&P 2 Lab. She never fails to disappoint me. Clear on her expectations. A&P overall is a hard course but she makes it possible.
Dr. Maddox is a gem! A&P is a difficult course, & she'll set her expectations on the first day of class, but she is very caring about her students' success! I always met with her face-to-face after lectures & she is always happy to clear up any questions/confusion. Pro tip: show up to class, study hard from day one, and get to know your professor!
3 tests. You should study hard for all 3! Mrs Maddox is awesome! She is so caring and made me feel very seen as a student. Ask her as many questions you have. Lab is very hard so there must be effort on your end.
I honestly loved her! I dont know why shes not rated better. Of course anatomy is not an easy class but she gives you what you need to pass. Study the learning objectives she gives you and take advantage of EVERY extra credit opportunity! Every point matters! Besides that youre in good hands.
I loved having Professor Maddox. I took her for Lab and Lecture A&P 1. I enjoyed her for both. She gives you SO much material to help you study. Yes, this is a difficult course but she really helps you. She cares so much about her students. Take her if you can!
Dr. Maddox is a great teacher, however, she does talk really fast. But she even mentions, in the beginning, she does this on purpose because it was a 50 min class to cover so much material. She was caring enough to push back our test dates and even told us how and what to best study for the test.
Professor. Maddox is a great teacher for anatomy. She talks very fast so I'll recommend writing your notes before class and just pay attention to the powerpoints & highlight information she say is important. She tells you her expectations in the beginning of the class so just study and listen in class and you'll do well in her class.
Dr. M is the best! Extremely professional with the way she teaches the content & is very approachable for any questions or help. Be careful - A&P I has a LOT of content, so she WILL have to move fast. Overall a great professor who I would take again. Side note: she takes attendance quizzes which count for credit so make sure you show up to class!
She talks super fast and does not rely on the textbook. She recommends you use it to get clarification when you are confused. Her lectures are 50-100 slides long but it is digestible! She gives extra credit and is helpful when you ask questions. She has 'clicker questions' she uses for practice and her tests are pretty straightforward.
Best professor I've ever had. Has random attendance quizzes, 4 tests, and a homework assignment due every Sunday. She usually responds within a few hours and cares about every student. She takes ownership if the class average is low and doesn't blame it on the students. She doesn't curve, however she gives points back if a question was bad.
I would not recommend taking her, her tests are super hard and never clear. you study what she tells you to study and then you end up with completely different material on the exams.
I was super worried about A&P1 because I was awful at biology in high school. Professor Maddox actually cares about her students and wants them to pass. She provides so many resources and extra credit that I find it hard to make a C. She does talk fast and expects you to take notes on 100 slide PPs. She's awesome and definitely a recommendation!
Dr. Maddox is a VERY energetic professor. She is very good at teaching but, sometimes she is a very FAST talker. It can be hard for some people to adjust to her speed. Overall, Dr. Maddox cares about her students and is a very good professor. I highly recommend!
Shes does pop attendance quizzes so make sure you show up for class. Shes a great professor but she does teach fast. Take notes and look over material before class and youll be fine. Shes funny as well and real
maddox is a AMAZING professor but this class if difficult. her test are as hard as they should be, but be prepared to study. she cares about her students GREATLY if you make the effort. quick to respond to emails. Funny in class.
Professor Maddox is well versed and passionate about the material she teaches. She offers various extra credit opportunities throughout the semester in addition to random attendance quizzes. She is very responsive to emails and face to face questions. I can honestly say professor Maddox wants her students to succeed and does a lot to ensure it!
Attendance not required but she does extra credit pop quizzes in some classes, tests are lecture heavy. Her teaching is very engaging and interactive and she wants the best for all of her students. The tests are very hard so you have to study a lot if you want a good grade but she sets you up for success. Good luck!
Dr. Maddox is AMAZING! Idk what the bad reviews are about. It is a difficult course and unlike any course you've taken before. I constantly hear from other students that Maddox is THE professor to take for AP. Do the work. Do the work. Do the work. And you will be fine. She lectures fast, so I recommend taking all the notes before the lecture.Enjoy
I noticed that people said her tests were difficult. Her tests themselves were not difficult, it was just the content on them. This is a hard class with a lot of content. I made As on all of the tests with some studying. Everything on her tests are directly from her powerpoints or in places that she tells us to look. Anatomy isn't easy!
Absolutely loved Dr. Maddox. Took her for lecture and lab, and she is so fun and engaging. She is almost always accessible outside of class. Lab attendance is mandatory, but lecture is not. She does teach kind of fast, so be prepared to do some reading and studying outside of class.
A&P is a class with lots of content, so the class will go fast and it can be hard to keep up at times. But if you study and take advantage of the resources she provides you with (which is a lot) it won't seem as bad. She is so sweet and caring, and is pretty upfront with what the exams will look like. Tests will also get pushed back 90% of the time
Do yourself a favour and please take Dr.Maddox for both lecture and lab. A&P1 is a hard, vigorous course, no matter which professor you take. But Dr.Maddox can make it slightly easier for you. She teaches in a way that when you're studying for your test you'll remember what she said in class and it'll help you remember stuff. She is the best.
Dr. Maddox is really funny and overall a pretty enjoyable professor. the tests are very very easy and pretty much exactly what she discusses in class. Her only major flaws is that sometimes she rushes through content and sometimes there are questions on the test about things we did not need to know. Besides that, easy A class if you study.
One of the very few science teachers I can say knows her content and cares for her students. She gives out soo many extra credit opportunities, it's honestly amazing. Her pre-recorded lectures aid in making the in-person lectures cohesive to the brain so watch those!! She has a charismatic personality that makes her lectures interesting, 10/10!!
I love Dr Maddox! AP is hard but she gives SO many opportunities for points. She goes super fast but you can tell she knows what she is talking about and she gives a lot of resources.
AP is a hard class. If you take maddox you will get the grade you put in. She is amazing because she gives you so many resources outside of class. if you want an easy A you picked the wrong major, but if you are dedicated she makes it where you can get to an A.
Im not the brightest but i got an B in the course. AP 2 is overall hard so go everyday and study alot and listen to what she says will be on the test and you will be fine. I did ok every test and left with a B still with doing good on hw, quizes, and she gave extra credit. She's not the best at teaching or bad but she does care.
Dr. Maddox is a gem. Please do not let the bad comments deter you. They are blaming the fact that it is a hard course on the professor! She basically tells you what is on the exams with her exam reviews, and she gives as many extra credit points as she is allowed to. She is very funny and cares deeply about her students. Take her!
Dr. Maddox is the best, take her if you have the opportunity. She truly cares about her students and is very understanding. Her lectures are great because you won't get bored, she will keep you engaged and make sure that everyone is following what she's saying. She's a great person aside from being a professor, always looking out for her students.
The best person you could take for this class. Yes, it is a lot of work but she gives you plenty of resources and she wants to see you do well if you put in the effort. Lots of extra credit opportunities.
I LOVEEE Dr. Maddox. I took her for A&P 1 and A&PII L. She goes pretty fast but makes the information understandable and provides great resources. Always gives sample questions for lab exams and that helps a lot. 10/10 recommend.
I took Dr. Maddox for AP 1 and 2 and she was the best professor I think I have ever had. She is super funny and engaging, and offers so much extra credit to help boost your grade in this very difficult course. Her lectures can be pretty quick paced sometimes, but you can always ask her to slow down or ask questions and she is willing to help.
she saved my life my freshman year while taking A&P1 - would recommend her for lab or lecture. she's an inspirational woman in the healthcare field and is so knowledgeable about the subject. she has a true passion for teaching and the next generation. she has no idea the impact she made on me in my career and personally.
I LOVE THIS PROFESSOR. she does tend to go pretty fast in labs but she always lets you ask her questions whenever you want. She is so so sweet and very energetic which is what we need for labs since they can be long.
Maddox talks very quickly, but she gives tips and tricks to remember structures. Lab finishes early frequently. Keeps an organized d2l page and offers additional sources. She could slow down with the amount of extra time she leaves, so if you get overwhelmed by fast talkers, take somebody else. Otherwise, she is good
AP is content heavy and difficult regardless. Weekly hw, quiz, and smartbook assignments that take no more than 3 hours. Lectures were easily digestible and she is easy to contact. Tests were straightforward. She knows her material and cares about you doing well.
I took Maddox for her online lecture class and in person lab. She is absolutely amazing. Anatomy is a tough course, but she makes material easy to understand. Honestly, her lectures are a lot but her tests are easier than what she teaches. Each week we had a online lecture, extra videos, quiz, homework, and smartbook. Highly recommend!
I took Prof Maddox for A&P 1 and am taking her again this semester for A&P 2. She is an amazing professor and genuinely cares about the success of her students. She always checks to see how well people are understanding her lectures and goes back over topics that get a lot of questions. I would strongly recommend taking her!
She is engaging and goes over everything. She answers any questions you have and provides many memorization tips. Tests are straightforward and she prioritizes need to know information. Answers emails quick. Heavily recommend
She is a good professor talks VERY fast and expects you to know stuff already. HW and a smarktbook for each chapter which helps bump grade. Some tests are SO easy and for others, it feels like you are taking a test for a unit you didn't learn about. Overall not a terrible professor just a lot of self-studying.
This class is hard regardless who take. Nursing is a hard major. Dr. Maddox cares so deeply for her students and tries everything to help you out. She gives audio study guides reading directly off the test. She's such an amazing person. If you work hard and try your best, you will be fine and she will be there to help and encourage you!!!
Wish I had her for A&P 1. She is really energetic and keeps the class engaged. She clearly states what is going to be on the exams in her learning objectives. You have to study a lot for the class but it's expected cuz it's anatomy. She even had useful study materials for anatomy lab and I didn't have her lab. Take her if you can.
Engaging is the word I'd use to describe Dr. Maddox. She throws in entertaining stories and she's bubbly so easy to listen to. She definitely challenges you, you HAVE to study. She is pretty strict on test day and to some people it may come across as intense, but on an individual level, she genuinely cares and wants you to succeed.
TAKE HER!!! Actually makes class interesting and I feel like I walked away from this class actually gaining something. She wants to make sure you understand the material and will help you individually. Class is very fast paced so be prepared for that. She does tell you what you need to know for exams which is nice.
Professor Maddox makes anatomy and physiology manageable with her engaging lectures and wealth of study resources, including Unstuck ai. The class is challenging but doable if you stay on top of the weekly work.
TAKE HER. Weekly lectures, HW, quizzes, and SmartBook. 4 exams and a two-part final. Dr. Maddox made this semester fun, engaging, and manageable. She wants her students to succeed, and is passionate about her career. Lectures can be a little overwhelming, but its anatomy, so that is to be expected. The walking embodiment of the Energizer Bunny.
Dr. Maddox made A&P 1 Lab manageable and engaging. She really cares for the success of her students, and truly wants them to achieve. She explains the concepts well, and you can really tell she enjoys teaching. It's a rigorous course in general and requires a lot of time studying, but she helps in any way she can.
I love Professor Maddox! She clearly cares for her students and helped me greatly. She also provides opportunities for extra credit. My A&P professor this semester wasn't the greatest, but her lectures helped me so much for that class. I already registered to take her next semester!
I was nervous about taking an online lab, but Dr. Maddox made it a reasonable and effective option! You decide how to divide the weekly work, but standards/deadlines are clear, and extra credit is offered on tests. The course is naturally hard due to the topic, but Dr. Maddox makes it approachable. She cares and provides resources to do well.
Forgot to write a review when I took her but she is one of the best professors! I'm in nursing school and still use things she taught me that stuck to this day. Will never make you feel dumb for any questions and truly wants you to learn. She's super funny too! Highly recommend!!!
I took this class in the spring semester and I would NOT recommend taking this kind of class online. She stuffs so much content down your throat, if you don't start off strong you will struggle. Although she gives exams on the lockdown browser with a WEBCAM, I would 100% recommend really doing well on the tetbook hw and assignment to keep up!!
Professor Maddox is amazing! She's incredibly supportive, always responds to emails quickly, and truly wants her students to succeed. She explains things clearly and creates a positive learning environment. A&P I is tough, but she makes it manageable. Highly recommend! As this topic is hard, be prepared to start strong from the beginning!
Dr. Maddox is a great professor. You can tell she really cares about students and wants you to succeed. If you study, watch her lectures, and do the hw, this class is not too bad. Lots of hw; weekly quizzes; & exams on lockdown. She goes over what will be on the test ahead of time so you know what to study. Gives extra credit opportunities.
If you can avoid this professor, DO IT! This is by far the worst professor I have had in my time at KSU. I just took the unit 2 test and before hand I studied her review quizzes, made quizlets, and went back through homework. The test had maybe 5 questions from her review. To me, if you are going to make a review, IT SHOULD LINE UP WITH THE TEST!!
If you're thinking of taking Dr. Maddox, do it! the first time i took A&P1 was with prof schneider, and no disrespect to him but he wasn't the best for me, i failed w/ a D. I re took with Maddox and her teaching methods are amazing, u can tell she cares! 2nd time in a&p1 with her I got a B, now i'm taking II and currently have a 96. take her!!
- will not accommodate you at all, it doesn't matter the situation or how serious it is - will flag and mark your test (lockdown webcam if online) as 0 and immediately report to SCAI for ANYTHING as little as not showing the full entire room in the webcam check - its not like she's a bad teacher she's just SUPER strict now and with no grace at all
PLEASE take her! This is my third class with Dr. M, and I have gotten an A in all three. She is organized, thoughtful, inspirational, and looks for any opportunity for her students to succeed. Tests are the exact material from class, weekly/bi-weekly HW, smartbook, and quiz. Gives any and every study tool to succeed. Put in effort & you'll pass.
Great professor no idea why she has any 1 ratings
Prof Maddox is a very good professor. She literally went over what would be on the test the day before the test and made the tests straight forward i would recommend taking her. One downside about her is she keeps on repeating the fact that if you aren't in class you will fail the class which isnt true at all. Would recommend though
Probably the best lecture professor for any hard class I had. Yes theres lot of HWs, quizzes, and her exams are tough, but if you are dedicated to learn AP with her you will succeed. She tries to help out in many ways she can. Yes, you WILL have to study and be there at all lectures. it is a hard class, but Dr. Maddox is there FOR YOU!!
A&P II is a hard class but if you actually want to pass you will. Dr. Maddox is an amazing professor she is very caring and always is speaking highly of students who always show up to class. She does exam reviews and literally is looking at the exam and is telling you what you need to know. She also did give 30+ bonus points so show up to class.
Dr. Maddox is the best professor! She genuinely cares about her students, encourages us, and wants us to succeed. Gives audio exam review that directly preps for each exam. Lecture is very helpful and engaging. 2-3 homework assignments per chapter but they were doable. Extra credit offered various classes (had 50 points by the end of the semester).
