I had Montalvo for College Algebra. Very hard teacher, but you learn. If you do well on labs and homework you will do very well in this class. She is always available for help. She's a hoot, really cute and funny.

I took Miss Monalvo for my college algebra on srping 2008 and trigonometry as an express class on fall 2008! She is pretty cool...she gives u everything for the test but you have to pay attention to class...she uses the book and all the mymathlab thing a lot!! If you are willing to pay attention to class...then you will have an easy A

She is an ok pro. You need to show up to class. Don't miss or you feel you've skipped everything. She makes the notes easy by printing them off. just remember to do the mml and ml on time and you should be find. Daily homework is not mandatory, but all the test questions come from homework. Overall do all of the work and you will pass.

ok everyone on here that said anything bad about her or that she is hard is stupid. i mean show up to class and do the work she assigns and its a piece of cake. i have never been good at math and i ended up with a B in this class! she is extremely helpful and makes everything simple. all of the test questions are from the book work which isn't man.

Not a good teacher but not horrible either. Need to attend. Labs due each week. HW problems assigned after each lesson, not due til test days but they are on the tests so do them. Not attractive. Not the worst teacher or hardest class ever, but definitely not the best. If this class is your main focus, you'll do fine.

Had her for matrices vectors n linear progaming. she has such pasion for the subject, but is really fast paced if need detail alot of help. Make sure you just study the notes and u shoul do well. class is easy math but you really need to practice it.

Best math prof Ive had in my college career. At first the class does seem daunting b/c she moves super fast but dont let that fool you. The tests for the most part come from the hw, and during test review she says what to study. Shes also a VERY fair grader not one of the profs who take off a bunch of points for minor mistakes. Cool personality too

She is a nice person and is dedicated. However, I doubt that I will take her again. Her lectures are confusing and fast. Her tests are mainly from the reviews, but contain variations to problems that are not in MathLab or the book. Really helps to have a strong math background if you decide to take her.

Very good teacher. No textbook required. One homework assignment per lesson, and one lab per chapter. 4 Tests weigh over half the grade. She answers all questions clearly and is exactly what I wanted in a math teacher. Not only helpful in math, but will help you when looking at schools to transfer too also. Awesome teacher!

She's a very good College Algebra teacher. Very concise, very friendly- she even recognizes students from previous semesters and will greet you in the hallway. She made learning algebra much more bearable. Tests were kinda hard, Math Lab was totally different from her teaching methods, but hers are the ones that matter for tests. Overall, awesome!

Really nice teacher. Notes help alot. The problems she goes over in class are pretty much the same as the ones in the online homework, and the Review problems for the test are exactly the same as well. Didnt need to use the textbook even once.

I was stumped when i met her first time in class because she could sound a little loud but i think after a while your ears get adjusted to her vocal chords.However,she is very nice and always excited to keep her subject alive in the class.She gives a lot of homework and quizzes but trust me it's worth it because her tests are easy.

She is truly a great teacher. Took her for a fast paced Summer Calc I. She helped the class a great deal. She loves to teach math and hates the use of cellphones in class. She is engaging,taught us how to study. I would highly recommend her if you are willing to do your part. She has a lot of homework but she covers all the material she tests.

Prof. Montalvo is a God send. She goes beyond expectation in helping her students succeed. I hated MATH but after taking her CALC I in the summer, I was impressed. She was available to help students master the skills she taught on weekends outside the class schedule. If you want a dedicated teacher, take her! Tests are based on what she teaches.

Excellent Professor. Very fair in grading practices. Very helpful during office hours. Explains needed material clearly. Her main focus for Pre-Cal is to ensure you have what you need to survive Calculus 1 and 2 which she does a good job at. Always attend her Pre- and Post- Exam Reviews, they really help especially for the final.

Professor Montalvo is the best thing that's ever happened to my career as a student. She inspired me to enjoy calculus. She is organized and clearly explains when you have problems. I was dying to take her for Calc 3, but I guess I will take it with Bock, since she will not be teaching the course at all. Give her class a chance.

Professor Montalvo was amazing. Calc II is hard and she really tries her hardest to help everyone receive a good grade. She is extremely smart and easy to ask for help. Do the homework though and the test reviews. That will prepare you best for the test. And don't every miss class because you won't be able to catch up easily! Would definitely take.

The final is comprehensive and I understand that it is hard for people to study all of the material especially for Calculus II but her final was from the 4 exams before LITERALLY! SHE'S PERFECT!

I'm not good at math and I just barely managed to pass this class. Professor is clear and will take the time to explain how something works if a student didn't understand. She writes very fast though so be prepared to write down notes as fast as humanly possible. Tests were very hard. She is a little hot, but don't expect a super model.

She might seem tough at the start with all the homework and labs but trust me she's great! She curves all the tests so the class average is a 70.. She gives tonnes of partial credit on tests and to top it off she gives a 3 page long formula sheet for the final! Like what more could you ask for?

Professor Montalvo spends the class time by diligently working example problems. Almost every question on the tests/quizzes/homework is a variation of one of these examples, so take notes and pay attention. Tests are easy if you study the homework, which doubles as a review guide. In class quizzes can easily catch you off guard, though.

This is the best professor to take. I promise if you want an A take this professor. The homework are a lot but if you do them you'll understand the class better plus it bumps your grade up. Exams are easy as long as you have done the practice exams. Lowest exam is replaced by final exam.

I took Montalvo for Calc I and her notes were very organized. Her tests were similar to the test review, there was nothing new on the test material. I don't know how much more straight forward a class can get.

I took algebra online with Monica and I can say she has been one of my best teachers I've ever had. I've had various issues come up recently, some very personal which can affect my work ethic. Not only was she understanding but she was willing to work around this. She's kind and caring and I highly recommend her.

Can't imagine any better professor for math class. She gives you the reason why you should know math and why love it. And she teaches you how to be good at it. She will make sure you know everything. Be comfortable to ask questions. Love her with all my heart. Sweet and caring just like a mom who cares about children but you are her student.

This course is what I expected from an online math course. The only real hardship I had was missing a lab. My advice is to make sure you check for all your labs. Missing one is like getting a zero on a test grade. There is not extra credit to make up for it.

This was an online class and used Pearson's My Math Lab. MML is EXCELLENT. Highly recommend any professor who uses it ($100 fee, though no cost for a book). Professor Montalvo was very responsive to questions about the class or about a problem I was having trouble with. Very solid choice.

You must be willing to work for an A. Calculus is a hard subject but professor Montalvo does a good job at explaining the material. Test can get complicated, they consist of 15 multiple choice and 5 long answer.

hands down the most amazing math professor ever !! It had been 5 years since I took a math class so needless to say my skills were rusty. She is great at explaining the concept and giving alternative ways to solve problems. She also doesn't rush through the material which is helpful for those who are not fast learners.

Took her for both Bcal 1 and Matrices. Kinda wacky but is a great teacher. For matrices, we had HW due every Monday assigned from the book. Her lectures are interesting and she's very open to questions. Tests weren't too difficult through the semester, but the final was tough.

Professor Montalvo is the best math professor I've had for a while. To pass this class all you have to do is pay attention in class and do the homework. If you're good with the hw you'll do amazing on exams since they come straight from the hw assignments. If you dont want to give this class at least 4 hrs of your week then don't take it.

I have taken Ms. Montalvo twice. Got B's in both and still would take her again. She is straight forward and very funny. She goes extremely fast when she lectures which is my only complaint. She LOVES math and its so obvious when she teaches! Work your butt off, make sure you understand the concepts not just how to answer the problems.

She always teaches very clearly with a friendly, positive, and enthusiastic attitude. For homework problems, she chooses random ones to grade so try to do them all correctly. As long as you know how to do all the homework problems, then youll do the exams well. Of course, with math, you need lots of practice so expect homework due every week.

Literally the best math teacher I have ever had! Way better than any I've had at my higher priced university. She clearly breaks down ideas and builds up from the simple to the more complex during lecture. She will do sample problems in class that reflect what will be on the homework so you have an idea of how to solve them on your own later.

She is my absolute favorite person ever. I'd never wished I'd taken an online professor in person until I took her! She became like a penpal friend and was so incredibly sweet, funny, and easy to communicate with. All the assignment were clear and had tools to help us. Made this course understandable and enjoyable! U need a calculator and acc. code

She was a great professor! I took her online class and she offered videos with calculator shortcuts and tips. Math has always been an easy subject for me, but she offered several tutorials and videos to help teach the material! I would definitely take her again if I could!

Professor Montalvo is hands down the best math teacher i have had in my experience. She is kind and very good at teaching in general. She cares for her students and I couldn't have wished for a better teacher in calc 1&2. Show up, take notes, do your homework, study. You'll easily get a good grade.

Good professor. There are four exams in total (three midterms and one final). The exams are similar to the reviews and make up 75% of your grade. The lowest midterm grade is replaced by the final exam score if the final is higher. The notes are detailed and easy to understand.
