The most horrible teacher ever! Her Lectures are Useless. Everything she teaches is on the test but worded completely different. There is no use of buying the book because none of the questions come from the book it comes from some so say "test bank"! And as she has quoted "my test are hard"! How do u expect someone to pass your stupid class?!
She is very sweet, and she works with you. Her tests are difficult, so I recommend studying from the book because some of the material she doesn't go over some of the material for the test in her lectures. If you attend class, she guarantees that she won't give you an F.
Her test are hard and you must study the book because some things on the test are not lectured on. If you go to class everyday you wont fail. Dont get discouraged after the first test, she does give bonus point opportunties.
This class was very easy. All you have to do is make notecards from the book and the notes from class. If you only miss class a few(2-3) times, she'll bring ur grade up. And...just to let the above know, the test bank is in the teachers book, and she picks questions from it for the test. I made A's and B's and it was very interesting
She's cool.
Her class is real easy.... she's hard to understand because she gets so off topic.. but she goes directly out of the book..
This is the hardest class I've ever taken. Her lectures are long and boring it's worded totally different on the test. She also tends to bring her personal life to class a lot.
Her lectures made it very hard for me to stay focused. She would say "uh uh and and um" alot throughout. She was scattered with her thoughts and never could just get through her lectures. Read the book and study... the class was boring.
She is the BOMB.COM ! HOLLA IF YA HEAR ME! SHES THE SHIZ
Covers the material well.
Monica is a terrible teacher. I have yet to hear an original thought come out of her mouth. She reads from the textbook, talks in circles, and her lectures are irrelevant if you read the textbook. I can't believe she is actually given the responsibility to teach 300 level college classes! She will waste your time and tuition money, as she has mine.
She follows the book very close. She has test reviews and says every page number and section that a question came from. If you study and show up to class she is easy to pass. If you attend class every day she ups your grade a letter grade!
Her tests were fairly easy. If you attend class and study from the book and her notes, you should do fine. She also tells you what to look for on the test.
Reads out of the book so class is boring but if you go to every class she will bump you up a letter grade! I have a 81 on moodle but transcript I have a A so she is true to her word. She is does not let you leave early ether but the class is not that bad if you read the book the night before the test and you will be fine.
Shes SO excited about psych that she talks in circles the entire class and you leave feeling like ..???.. She doesnt fail many people and she makes that clear so even if you do pretty bad you'll probably wind up with a D. She reads straight from the text book and makes you memorize definitions. Shes definitely good at being confusing.
BORING. she just reads straight from the book and tells anecdotes about her family(even her husband not being able to use viagra b/c of a heart condition. gross) she is a BAD teacher but likes to give extra point assignments, DO THEM, they're worth a lot.
Good teacher.

Best teacher ever!
She is a very nice lady. She really tries to teach the subject in a clear way.
Good and likeable person, but the tests have little to do with her lectures. Study entirely from the book and you'll be okay.
I'm happy I had this teacher's class.
I am so glad I had her as my professor. She is extremely fair, has a test review before EACH test where she actually tells you what pages to study, has a great personality, truly cares about her students passing, and is very, very friendly.
Um, if you uh, like, er, listening to um, people talk like uh... this... then take her class. If you want a good teacher who actually knows what they're talking about, take Bowman for 313.
Mrs. Tauzin is a very helpful teacher and very understanding. Psychology isn't my subject but as long as you attend class and try to do the extra points assignments. She will help you out. Read the book....it is helpful.
Mrs. Tauzin is a caring and amazing teacher. She's very dedicated to her family which is why you will countless of personal anecdotes throughout the course but they normally tie up with the current lecture (even if she does go off topic from time to time). Do the bonus assignments and show up to every class for at least a grade higher than deserved
her lectures, and whatever she says has nothing to with the hard tests she gives. must read book to pass test. most of my class was failing, i averaged my grades and had a C and ended up with an A though.
I really didn't have any trouble with her class, and she gives tons of extra points. I think she is a awesome speaker and I really enjoyed her class. All the tests come directly from the book, and she tells you what pages you need to know. Don't write notes, just follow along in the book and highlight. Note: If it's in a table, it's on the test!
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! It will be a deadly blow to your academic career! She really is in the wrong profession. Instead of teaching her class, she talks about her family the entire time, which most of the time has NOTHING to do with what were SUPPOSED to be learning. READ YOUR BOOK! Because that will be the only way you'll learn anything
She is a really bad teacher! She rambles about absolutely nothing that has to do with the test(talks about family the whole time). I had to teach myself. The only good things about her class is she gives loads of bonus points and if you attend every class she will bump your letter grade up. Go to the textbook website and do the study guides.Helpful
Her class is a bit boring at times, but it's definitely NOT hard. Read the sections she tells you to a couple nights before the test and you'll be fine. Go to class every day, she ups you a letter grade. Take advantage of all her extra point opportunities-there are a bunch! And don't sign in for anyone. It makes her really mad.
ALL THIS LADY DOES IS RAMBLE AND WASTE TIME TALKING ABOUT HER FAMILY. JUST READ YOUR BOOK TO PASS THE CLASS.
By far the best teacher I have taken! I had a c in the class. With all the bonus points and my perfect attendance my final grade was a B! AWESOME Professor!!!
She talks and rambles a lot. You just have to pay attention in class and read the book for her test. I would recommend that you buy the book. An online website comes with it for practice test which are similar to her real test. She raises your grade a letter grade sometimes more if you go to class everyday & participate. I had a 77 but got an A!
Mrs. Monica is AWESOME. Though she never "gives" you a grade, she provides many extra point opportunities and truly wants you to understand the material. Be sure to attend EVERY class and study the book's website and you'll do fine. I would def take any class she teaches (:
GREAT TEACHER!!! The lectures can tend to get repetitive and boring at times, but she raises you grade if you go to class the majority of the time time. The tests come straight from the book and she goes through the book and tells you what and what not to study/read for the test. Also gives many extra point opportunities. At the end of the class, I had a high C and my final grade was an A! Take this class! Definitely won't regret it:)
TERRIBLE!!! She rambles and rambles and the test has almost nothing in common with what she talks about in class. She is also extremelt strict on phones, tardiness and leaving early, and she refuses to let you get up to go to the bathroom or anything. Not understanding at all
She teaches from the book but makes the test questions harder than they need to be. Boring lectures and talks about her personal life too much.
She is not very helpful to her students and rambles on about her personal life way way too much. i would not recommend you take this professor.
AVOID HER!! I have never had such a HORRIBLE teacher in my entire life. She does not teach and she tests you on 4 chapters. 2 weeks later you have a test on 4 more chapters and she hasn't taught a single thing. Do not be tempted by her bonus points. This class is stressful!
Mrs. Tauzin is a good teacher. You must READ the chapters that the test is on. She believes in quality over quantity, therefore, there is not a tremendous amount of information you must retain per test!(: She gives bonus point opportunities. She does love to talk, and tends to ramble sometimes. But overall I had a good experience in her class.
Mrs. Monica is great! She talks about her family a lot, but I liked that. She always relates them to whatever concept is being studied, so it's sometimes helpful. If you have perfect attendance she raises your grade a letter (or two if you're a good student). Her tests are easy as long as you read the sections she tells you will be on the test.
Mrs. Tauzin is really nice. Her lectures are a little boring but reading the chapter will really help you on the test. She will tell you what pages she will be pulling her questions from. She also gives many bonus point opportunities.
EASY CLASS. jUst get the book, and highlight the stuff on the power points in the book. When she give you which sections in the chapters are on the test just study those sections paying special attention to the highlighted stuff. She does talk about her family often but it always relates. If you attend every class she gives a 10 point curve.
Get the powerpoint and study the book. Her lectures are pointless. GO TO CLASS. At the end if you have perfect attendance she will bump you up a letter grade.
She is a really nice teacher! Be sure to attend all class sessions so you can get raised one letter grade at the end of the semester. Read your textbook and you should do fine.
Mrs. Tauzin is a great instructor. She lectures well and give examples from her life that help with understanding the material. She also goes through the chapters and tells you exactly which section test questions come from. Go to class, put in the work (which isn't much) and you'll do fine.
She is a really nice lady. I actually like the way she teaches the class. If you pay attention to her lectures while making flashcards for the chapter, you will do fine. I didn't copy any notes down as she was talking and i ended up with an A. I screwed up on the first test, but what i've learned is to make flashcards and read the chapter.very easy
Well, my first impression of her was a good one, but after a while, I realized that she was a little harder than I thought. I did like the material thought, so If you are not interested in the subject, then don't take it. She makes the tests as hard as possible btw. She tells you that straight up.
Nice lady but she rambles entirely too much and her tests are really too tricky and more difficult than they should be considering how much rambling she does. Go to class every single day and read the textbook.
Such a great teacher!! Tests are a little hard, but hey it's college so work for your grade! Plenty of extra point opportunities! Go to class everyday, read the textbook, and use the resources she gives you on Moodle! Loved this class and learned a lot! Still praying for you and your family with all you had going on this semester Mrs. Tauzin!
Nice lady but she rambles too much and the powerpoints are pointless as everything comes from the book. Gives plenty of extra point oppurtunities. Go to class everyday, and you'll get your grade raised by a letter.
Yes, she does ramble. but in the end its all worth it. Go to every class and do the extra points-you will definitely get an A, even if you were supposed to end up with a high C or low B. As for the tests.. study the BOOK. dont even bother looking at her power points.
Very confusing. Talks alot about personal issues. Attendance is a must and it seems as though she gets upset when you are absent or leave early w/o caring about the reason behind it. I no longer want to minor in Psychology. Just this class right here and turned me off!
She is a very sweet teacher, but goes off subject a lot. If you attend class every day, she gives you a whole letter grade higher for the semester! Take good notes and listen to her lectures, even though they get really boring. BUY THE BOOK. She also loves her students.
Rambles. Sit in the front of the class so you won't get distracted and ignore everything. The course topic is interesting. The book sucks though. Tests are not comprehensive and neither is the final.
Take her. She is the bomb.
Great Teacher! She really helps you out. Come to class everyday or she will pass you.
She is a compassionate and caring teacher. She sacrifices personal information about herself to help you relate to the course material. I didn't study and received a B, which should have been a C. She gives a whole letter grade higher for perfect attendance. Course material is interesting and relevant. She overcomes personal obstacles with grace.
DONT MISS A SINGLE CLASS and make sure you SIGN THE ROLL. you get a letter grade higher just for attending class everyday even if you come in late! BUY THE BOOK AND LET IT BE YOUR BESTFRIEND! she will give you the pages and sections of info that will be on the test, study that thoroughly and you will do fine! she rambles alot but she gives bonus.
She makes the test more difficult than needed but it's still doable. i studied 3-5 days in advanced & made A's on all tests excepts one(which was a high B). But I really worked for the grades I earned. She gives tons of bonus opportunity and also adds 10 pts to final grade for perfect attendance. Lectures are pointless unorganized. study the book!
By far, the worst teacher I have ever had. Spends 90% of class talking about her family problems. DO NOT take this class.
Never ever skip class. I do not recommend this teacher. It's the most stressful class I have ever taken. The tests are the most confusing thing on this planet.
Although Mrs. Tauzin was very nice and respectful towards her students, she wasn't a very good lecturer. Her tests were pretty hard, and you have to learn all of the material on your own because she barely covers anything important during class.
This is by far my ONLY hard class I have this semester. I worn you DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. YOU WILL NOT HAVE A SOCIAL LIFE AT ALL. If you know you will not read the chapter, then do not take it. She gives no study guide like the other teachers. DO NOT TAKE IT. Go to class everyday though, she gives you a higher letter grade. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
I would not recommend her to any freshmen, they say freshman year is your easiest year... well she made it one of my hardest semesters at UL. I constantly was in her office for help and all I was told was "you'll be fine", no help. READ THE TEXT BOOK, don't skip class, you'll receive a higher letter grade. Don't even take this class tbh. HORRIBLE
Honestly.. The worst class I ever took ! She is never clear about what she is talking about, always drift into her family issues the test are extremely hard Bc you have to teach yourself the book, there's no point of going to class except for perfect attendance to get a letter boost up ! I don't recommend her , it was horrible
go to every class and bumps your grade up 10 points. lectures are confusing because she gets off topic a lot. but don't even study the power points for the tests because you'll fail. study the page reference guide for the easiest A possible. also she assigns papers and group projects but gives u a 100 for doing it
Very nice in the beginning, but if you have to leave during her class, don't. She will stop class and call you out on why you have to leave and then mark you absent even if you stayed for majority of the class. She also takes off points if she sees your phone. Other than that she is a good teacher and is willing to answer any questions.
Never skip class! Cus she give a letter grade higher if u make all of the classes. Her lectures are pointless and she always brings up family issues up, that are never relevant to the course. Her test are hard as hell and you have to teach your self through the book. NEVER TAKE THIS CLASS!!!
do not take her!!!!!!
Helpful when it comes to helping your grade. Always offers her time when you need it. Test questions come straight from the book so it's important to read carefully. Obviously knows what she's talking about. Overall I thought the class was pretty interesting and is very easy to get an A if you read the book and go to class.
She's a pretty good teacher she didn't return none on my emails back. Don't print out her power points just read all the chapter and do all the online homework and you will be fine in her class. She starts off with the power points but then stops and comes straight from the book the test are very difficult but she gives extra credit. Go to class!!
Yes, she does talk a lot during her lectures, but, honestly, everything comes straight from the book. If you don't like to read for most lecture classes, they'll be more difficult. She gives one or two essay topic papers for extra credit, which are totally worth it!! In all, Psychology is an interesting subject. IMO, it's the easiest lecture class!
Basically all she does is give you real life examples of what is in the text. So you'll have to read on your own. But class is really interesting. I enjoy her. GO TO CLASS, she gives an extra letter grade for perfect attendance. Tests aren't too hard. Bonus points opportunities every now and then. Take this class with her.
Pretty straightforward class. Definitely need to read the textbook and prepare for the tests. But there are plenty of tests and chances for you to keep your grade up. She gives plenty of extra credit chances and if you have perfect attendance she raises your grade a whole letter grade. Highly recommend. Boring class, but worth it.
extra credit lots of homework never finishes the notes just reads over powerpoint (but dont study powepoint) I barely studied, did the extra credit and homework every time. Show up to every class and she'll bump you a letter grade. Kinda easy because of how much she helps you pass.
just reads over powerpoint (but dont study powepoint) I barely studied, did the extra credit and homework every time. Show up to every class and she'll bump you a letter grade. Kinda easy because of how much she helps you pass.
Many tests throughout the semester. Must read!
You must read the chapters , she gives bonus point opportunities, she also bumps you up a letter grade higher if you attend class.
Highly recommend! She gives various opportunities for extra points and will raise your grade a letter higher for perfect attendance. Test questions come straight from the book, so read the chapters. She gives real life scenarios in her lectures to help you understand, and she knows her stuff. She is a caring person and very easy to talk to.
If you can avoid this woman, do it. She rambles the entire class period about pointless things and makes it very difficult to focus on the topic. She's very frustrating and focuses more on petty things rather than things she could do to benefit her students. If she wasn't so harsh on participation, I would just learn from the book and avoid her.
The lectures are irrelevant to test the questions come strictly from the book. I studied the powerpoints and launchpad assignments for my test and made a D. I think the class should not be harder than a biology class as it is just an introductory course.
She gave plenty of bonus points so it was very easy to pass her class.
You're gonna really have to put forth a lot of effort to pss this class. You can literally read the chapter word for word and still get a D on her tests. You just really have apply yourself. She also gives a couple bonus points through the semester. Overall she's a pretty good teacher.
She relates a lot of matters to her personal life which makes it easier to understand. Her tests are difficult and straight from the book. Because her tests are so hard, she gives bonus points on SOME Fridays for wearing red and bumps your grade up by a single letter grade if you have perfect attendance for the semester. Doctors excuses PA
If you don't want to hear about personal stories, DON'T take her class. She is so hard. I studied for hours for her tests and still did bad. She tends to talk about things that don't even relate to the chapter and makes her tests practically impossible to pass. She is a funny and caring person though and gives bonus points sometimes.
This class isn't insanely difficult. Just study the review at the end of each chapter in the book and listen in class (don't study just the powerpoint). She curves a lot of the tests. If you go to class every day it's almost impossible to fail because she raises your grade by a letter if you go to every class.
This class is very easy. You have to actually study the review she gives out and read the book but if you apply yourself it is definitely possible to get an A. She curves tests and raises your grade a letter if you are in class every day.
I wouldn't say it is the hardest class I have ever taken simply because it's just memorization. But, in order to do well on the tests you have to study your butt off. Don't study the powerpoint and her lectures are irrelevant most of the time. Read the book! I never made an A on a test. I made mostly C's but finished with an A because of bonus.
Make sure you attend class. If you attend all the lectures, she will give you one letter grade higher. She wants to know her students and encourages feedback. Sometimes there is too much discussion and she will not finish a powerpoint so you have to learn in on your own. Read the book!!!!!!!
If you need help or have an issue, go to her. She'll help you.
She was a great teacher. Really cares about making students understand the material. As long as you participate, ask questions, and read the book you should pass. She also gives tons of extra credit so go to class or you won't get any.
she is very lecture heavy, she likes to go off on tangents that make it hard to pay attention in class. sit in the front row because when she starts talking she has a tendency to lower her voice dramatically which makes it hard to hear her in the back. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GETTING UP IN CLASS. if she can call you out for something she will
If you have an option, take any other professor available. All she does is read through PowerPoints the entire class period, and the test isnt even based off of the PowerPoints. You have to read the chapters to even come close to passing her exams. Plus, she gets off topic very easily and goes on long rants about her family and personal life.
If you hate long boring lectures, do not take!! She does not finish chapters and makes you teach yourselves. Class test score averages are so low she is constantly adding 10 point round up and bonus point opportunities. If you never miss a class , she will round your grade a whole letter, therefore the only reason I passed.
Professor Tauzin was a good teacher, but get ready to listen to her boring lectures which often go off topic. Most of the test questions come off the homework she assigns, so make sure to do it, it's a lot! She also gives you bonus points for attending every single class.
Lectures tend to get off topic and really disengage the class. Powerpoints are available but don't help at all. The only positive is that she will raise your grade if you don't miss a single class. Other than that, I would not recommend.
When she lectures, she tends to include a lot about her personal life. Her tests aren't really hard, doing the most minimal amount of reading got me a B average on the tests. If you have perfect attendance by the end of the semester, she'll raise your grade by 10 points. She also gives a lot of bonus opportunities.
She is very caring. All of the assignments are worth your time. She reads over the powerpoints in class, but it is important to read the book as well. She gives plenty of bonus points. If you show up to class and read the book, you will pass.
Tauzin is one of the worst professors in the psychology department. She makes her tests very difficult then curves them all with TONS of bonus points. She also bumps you up a letter grade if you have perfect attendance. Not worth the heartache, take one of the other easy professors in the department.
Its easy to get an A, BUT her lectures are pointless. Textbook reading is all you need to pass the tests. HER STORIES! They don't even pertain to the material, she just busts out with random life stories and its really annoying. She's weird about people using the bathroom? Expect to be treated like a high school class. Easy A just an annoying class
Talks and talks and talks and talks.
she gets mad and calls people out for talking, but she goes off-topic however long she wants and goes on about her family. her powerpoints do not help prepare us for the test at all, and the tests are on everything in each chapter of the book. it is hard
Mrs Monica was an amazing teacher. Yes she called people out for talking, but nothing is more annoying then having people talk through an entire lecture. Its a 300+ level class so the material is going to be hard. Homework helped, she gave page references before test, and reading the actual material helped me pass the test. If you try you pass
Bumps your grade up an entire letter if you come to every class, talks a lot about personal problems but only to help you relate the information to real problems.
Not everyone likes Mrs. Monica, but I really did. She gave good examples in her lectures that helped me remember the information. I did have to do a little bit of studying in her class (like night before studying) , but it wasn't anything too difficult. She gives many many bonus point opportunities, so if you don't pass you literally didn't try.
Monica isn't a bad teacher but she does go off topic a lot. I only went to class for the grade curve from perfect attendance. It's easy to pass her class though. If you study by using the references she sends out you 'll pass her test. Also, take the practice quizzes offered on McGraw hill, they are super helpful for her tests.
She says that her tests come straight from the book, so I was reading every page of the chapters. Every test was 2-3 chapters by the way, and the chapters were 30 pages long. I never made above an 85 on a test even after she curved them. She gives chances for bonus points, so getting a c shouldn't be hard but tests are very tough.
Ms. Tauzin was extremely hard. She was not any easier on any students due to the pandemic. She told us that she would not lower her expectations for us even though most of us were failing the tests. if you are taking her class virtually, I would think again. I studied for every test and am usually an A student, but I made Cs, Ds, and Fs on each one
Hard to get in touch with and is a tad bit impatient if you don't understand something. You can read the textbook and do the practice activities, but you really have to have a situational learning type mindset to pass the tests. The tests are somewhat factual but mainly contain situational questions, which I'm not good at it. Extra credit saved me.
her class is really easy if you do everything on time. she grades easy and gives bonus points, but her test are weighed a lot more than anything else and they're difficult to study for. No clear lectures or study methods given
i didn't find her zooms necessary or helpful, but shes a nice lady. if you read the book and do the homework, you will do fine
If there were a nuclear war, the only survivors would be cockroaches and this womans exams. Monica does not teach you to apply concepts; she teaches you to regurgitate them. She is passive aggressive any time you ask for more help. She does not elaborate; repeats definitions and tells you to pay attention. take another professor.
I didn't enjoy Tauzin's class. She used an online proctoring website with tests straight from the book but she taught from her own notes instead of the book. She always makes it sound like it's your fault if you do poorly or don't understand. My saving grace was the large amount of homework, which brings up your grade significantly.
This class had to be my most frustrating class this semester. A small percentage of her lectures actually help you on the exams. Youre going to have to read a LOT so be prepared. She uses McGraw Hill connect and that is so annoying. If you do the homeworks youre going to pass.
Ms. Monica gets aggravated when you don't get involved. READ YOUR TEXTBOOK FOR TESTS. The lecture never helped me. It's the same stuff. She gives very few bonus and does not drop tests so get ready. She does offer extensions if circumstances are dire. She has plenty of good stories and examples and I enjoyed having her as a teacher. Just work hard!
She can get off topic quite often.
READ YOUR TEXTBOOK. Do bonus work since the tests tend to be extremely difficult. Has great stories
