This class was unnecessarily difficult, especially for those who haven't taken AP Chem. She teaches way more orgo than we should be required to know in an INTRO to chem class. Although she held extra office hours and review sessions, her lectures were confusing and I learned most of the material on my own.

It's not really the professor that matters for orgo lab. You do labs once a week and answer the lab questions. The TA teaches the labs and ALL the TA's grade labs. Essential to go to TA office hours often and find a TA that helps with lab questions. Some TA's are snobbish. Lab questions are usually not easy to answer. 1 credit class but DIFFICULT.

I had Dr. Koppel for CHEM232 lab and it was such a mess. The lab videos were not helpful. She was SOOO strict about cheating and didn't give students any chances. The final and quizzes were super hard and unfair. Thankfully she did a huge curve because she knew everyone failed the final terribly.

This is the worst lab I've ever done. I knew that the Chem department was generally disorganized, but oh my, this truly takes the cake. The lab videos look like they were shot out of a potato, which makes it impossible to see what we're looking at. We're tested on concepts and tools we've never seen or used at all. If I were you, I'd stay away.

I took this class virtually. Labs were confusing, and she barely gave us enough information to complete them. At the end of the semester, only 3 out of my 8 labs were graded, so if any of those 5 labs had mistakes, i had no way of knowing before working on the next one (which built off of the ideas from the last).

If you want a good grade you have to go to office hours because the lab questions are hard and they only provided lecture videos for a few labs. Grades for labs arent released until the end of the semester even though the labs build off one another.

I think the way the whole class is set up is difficult. When doing the experiments you'll think "okay I got this" but wrong. Our TA nor professor teach us how to answer the post-lab neither does our professor so it's upsetting that we have to basically become scientists to figure out the post-labs.
