Dr Matthews is an excellent teacher, if you are having a problem understanding what she is teaching she is more than happy to take the time to explain it to you. very important to attend all classes.

this women is educated in what shes teaching. as long as your trying she will give you all the help you need. great teacher!!!!

All quizzes are written response questions, memorize things word for word. Don't expect multiple choice questions unless its an exam. Class is an all period long lecture...it gets boring. She has an accent. I got used to it, but others didn't. Shes a good teacher though. Always is willing to explain things for you

Best teacher at IRCC. She is really helpful, I took 6 classes this semester, and she was the best teacher. It's a challenging class, but just put forth the effort and she'll help with the rest. Provided instant feedback all the time, accent took some getting used to though

easy class if you do your study questions for the chapter. test are multiple choice. she drops your 2 lowest quiz grades and your lowest test grade. you only take 3 test. she is a very good teacher but kind of boring.

i really enjoyed intro to sociology, had no idea what it was.. Qizzes were online only. You get 3 attemps at each. Exams were multiple choice. Wriring assignments were a challenge but i got A's for my effort. She has all of powerpoint notes available online (print them out in the puter lab) - overall this class was the best i had.

She Rocks! She makes learning fun, keeps it interesting, Just come to class, participate, take good notes, do your quizzes and you will learn alot. Excellent Professor, if you need any of her classes take her!

This professor makes class worth going. Easy, just do the quizzes and study them, and get no less than a 90 on the exams! Got questions, no problem, just ask! i got an 89 in the class, and she GAVE me a A. She's down to earth, my cousin took her also, we love her!!!

Had this instructor for my first online class (Social Problesm) and it was very easy!! She gives you study questions and quizzes and if you do the study questions and study the quiz, you will ace the test. I never even read the book. Loved her!! Communication was excellent and everything was spelled out for you then entire semester.

I love this professor. She is very intelligent and helpful. The tests come write out of the stufy guide and the notes. Going to class is definetly necessary but you learn about interesting stuff. great teacher i would definetly take her again!!

I took this class online. It was the easiest class ever. I didn't learn anything. The textbook is VERY general and not at all interesting. That is not the professors fault though. Mathews seemed alright. However, she did drop the ball on the discussion questions. The discussion questions were very uninteresting and non-thought provoking.

She is a good teacher. The final is not comprehensive, which is great. I took her for SYG 2000 as well. The class is interesting so it did not require much study time for me. This class would be great to take if you have a couple of really heavy classes because it is a light load.

Overall the class is easy, the final is not comprehensive which is great. Test questions come right from study questions & online quizzes. A great class to take with a heavy load. You do have 4-5 writing assignments but they are easy. I did them all the nght before & got an A on all of them (& I'm not a writer)

She has a beautiful voice, and has a accent. I can understand her but if you aren't used to accents, dont take this class. She uses WebCT a lot. Makes use of resources. Very good teacher. You have to be in class and do some homework. So if you are lazy go away.

her class is so easy..not alot of studying is required. i studied the night before for about an hour and got high A's on her tests. her writing assignments are a piece of cake. there is no reason to get below an A. she also does pop quizes but they dont count against you and it gives you extra points if you get them right. I RECOMMEND FOR EASY A!!!

Social Problems...not only easy but interesting! I took it online. You have to take part in discussions with your class (over the net) and tell your views on different situations. (drugs, homosexuality, religion) it's very easy. 3 tests and 1 essay...Don't miss out on this easy class. I wasn't sur about the class ID so ignore...

Dr.Matthews taught my summer 1 Internet course. She was very specific on what to study for the exams, making it easier for exams. Instead of reading entire chapters, we only went over certain material; which is helpful in summer classes. Subject matter was interesting and had open debates on things like drug abuse, education system and sexual discrimination. I would reccomend this class to everyone.

Dr. Mathews is an excellent professor. She is very precise and clear to the point. In the beginning my grades were not so good, but after talking with her, she explained what I needed to work on and my grades went up. She is GREAT! I ended the course with a B and I'm not going into anything with Sociology or human recourses.

this is one of the best professors i have had. i drove a good distance to take her. and a she was well worth the drive.everything she tells you and gives you to study is on every test.all you have to do is read and do the study questions and you will pass,i like that she makes you think outside the box.

I took Social Problems online with her and found it to be both interesting and fairly easy. I would recommend this class to everyone, especially those thinking of trying an online class for the first time. She is nice and even sends out weekly emails to keep everyone on track! My only complaint is that her grading chart can be a little confusing.

Took Dr. Mathews for Intro To Sociology online and Social Problems online, she is one of the easiest professors that I have dealt with. She is very clear (with her online classes) as to what is expected. Gives weekly updates to work needed to be done. A very easy A.

She was great. Summer class so quick, but worked well. Wish she tested more often on less chapters, but she gives you answers through study guides on each chp and just go to her lectures and she is fine. has think accent, but you get used to it by the 3rd day. helps you out if you miss something as long as you put in effort. I recommend =)

Strong accent ( Jamaican ), so if you're not good with accents, try another teacher. Halfway through the semester and i still don't understand much of what she's saying. POWERPOINTS are your key to success. She also gives study guides for every chapter/Exam. Study those and you'll be fine. Term paper was a bit.....retarded. Overall, cool class.

She is a serious teacher, with a strong accent from Haiti. She knows about what she's teaching, but it was a little hard to understand bc of her accent. Powerpoints were extremely helpful! she does alot of assignments in class (mostly group) and online quizes at home. I personally liked her but you must be commited to going to class.

Eh. I found the classes very boring. It was my least favorite class but it was easy. I never really used the powerpoints. In my opinion, all you have to do is learn the definitions and really know their concepts and you'll do just fine on the exams.

Second time I've had her. She's... Boring. She asks redundant questions, and expects you to answer the way she thinks you should. If you don't she just disregards your answer. Kind of annoying. But it was an easy class. She's kind of a pushover with the freshmen too.. She should work on that.. Use the books website for the tests, dont bother buying

This is the second online class I've had with Dr. Mathews. She's nice and very helpful. She is organized and always kept us up to date on what we needed to be doing. The class was pretty interesting. It wasn't too hard, but it did require a fair amount of work (quiz and discussion post each week). There was also a term paper. She's a good teacher!

I took her online class over summer 1. It was a LOT of reading and sometimes I found that her powerpoints were not as clear as the information in the book. I agree with the other posting learn the definitions for the tests and have a general concept of the readings and you will receive a good grade. Discussions online were interesting.

Pretty simple class. If u read the textbook and come to every class u should pass no problem. There is a lot of material to learn and reading the chapters is key to passing the tests & in class quizzes. Very helpful with students and does her best to make sure the class understands each topic. Plenty opportunities for EC so take advantage of it!

Power points & notes (handout questions) are crucial in this class. everything is online so you don't really have to go to class but she does throw out occasional class activities. She has a harsh accent but isn't that difficult to understand. Stays wit her syllabus constantly. The notes help with the online quizzes which help with chapter test.

She teaches completely through power points, and they're all available online so you can review if necessary. It's a lot of reading and textbook is mandatory, but if you do the assigned reading and read chapter review you're sure to do fine on the tests. The only thing I had a hard time on was the research paper, but there was tons of extra credit.

Overall I liked Dr. Mathews. She responded quick to my emails, she gets the students to interact in class and she gives you chances to improve your grade. Tests weren't hard you just needed to read the required reading. She is a very nice woman and I would take her again.

I have taken this professor for into to sociology and now social problems. She is wonderful. The class is easy if you do the work and follow the notes. She gives one paper that is no more than 4 pages long. She responds in a timely fashion and gives great feedback. I would definitely recommend her.

She is an amazing teacher!!! VERY helpful and quick and considerate with her responses! Gives extra credit, takes off two lowest quizzes as well as one lowest test score. I would definitely take her class again she was incredibly helpful!!

Ms. Mathews was really nice and knows her stuff! She does call on students often so READ the text before every class. Her tests are all put into scenarios which was difficult for me, so make sure you understand . She gives lots of extra credit but its crazy how much work you have to do to receive 1 pt for extra credit...

Amazing teacher- treats you like another human being not a number.

One of the best teachers I have had. She speaks in a way that makes you listen and you can never get bored. She gives out a lot of assignments but if you do well it will help you at the end of the course. She also gives out extra credit that helps you on your tests and also helps you get extra points at the end of the semester.

She is a very good teacher and is clear about what she expects out of you in her syllabus. She is not an "Easy A+" teacher however, which is admirable in its own right. You are going to be studying and working hard if you expect a decent grade. Do not take her if you are lazy or skip class, you will fail.

Incredibly smart woman! She makes you work hard for your grade, but you can honestly walk out of that class saying you learned something meaningful. There are plenty of notes, reading (mandatory), and discussions in this course, but nothing that isn't interesting. You can stay wide awake in this class and enjoy every minute of it!

This was a pretty good class. I took Sociology online. The only problem was the professor did not always answer me quickly and the online tests would be wrong. Some answers that were actually right would be marked wrong.

I took Social Problems online with Dr. Mathews. The class consisted of 4 exams 2 at home 2 at the testing center, 4 discussion boards, and 1 term paper. There are lots of opportunity for extra credit. Get the book because she does require A LOT of reading.

Always provides feedback and if a student isnt doing well shell ask them privately what she can do to help and also tells them what they can do to help their grade. She gives many opportunities for extra credit assignments. She typically would lecture at the beginning of class and afterwards have a partnered assignment.

She makes three modules due every 2 weeks along with one test. Everything is multiple choice and you don't have to write much for discussion boards.

I took SYG2000 online with Professor Moleon-Mathews and it went good. There is a lot of online work, quizzes, and some discussion boards. As long as you keep up with the assignments, its not that bad.

Professor Moleon-Mathews is an awesome teacher and made learning easy during an online summer class. I took her for SYG2000, which was an easy A if you do the work. Her chapter study questions will prepare you for almost everything on the tests. Her lecture videos are good too. Discussion boards and papers were very easy!

If you take in-person you better be good at understanding someone with a heavy accent. She has lecture videos for online and I can't watch them because they are so hard to understand. Thankfully I just read the book when doing HW. HW is through MindTap and its confusing and lots of concepts. Quiz/test answers found in online book. No big essay.

Her tests are really easy and even though she provides lectures, they're not necessary to pass the course with an A. She responds in a expeditious manner and she grades just as quickly. She is really understanding and tries to work with you as much as possible. Her class is light and the most amount of work you'll do is for the study guides.

I had this professor twice and each time was great. There was extra credit and very clear grading rubrics. The only minor compliant I have is that feedback was a bit slow however, it was better than all of my other professors I have had thus far. Would definitely recommend!

One of my easiest classes taken as a DE Student. She gives lots of extra credit so there is no reason to fail her class. The only annoying thing about her class was the discussion questions and needing to reply to other students. Though, her workload is very light and reasonable deadlines. She offers many resources to match your learning style.

Professor Moleon-Mathews is a great instructor. The class has a fair workload, with online assignments and tests. Using Unstuck study alongside the textbook really helped me stay on top of the material. Definitely recommend taking this class.

This was our first semester using Canvas, and as POS1041 was an online course for me, I was very nervous about the layout of the course. However, Prof. Matthews made the Canvas page SO organized. The quizzes and discussion boards are pretty easy as is, and are even easier if you refer to the online textbook. The tests are also pretty easy.
