smart man.
good man, good teacher, he has his flaws, tries to make the class interesting, will not cause trouble, I recommend
Previous review was deleted, unsure why...Teacher was decent but exams were so difficult that class produced the lowest avg of any class in the history of Concordia's MBA program (with 6 Fs). The B- I worked my ass off for hurt my GPA very bad, avoid him.
He is a very helpfull teacher. He always answers all e-mail regarding to questions about finance problem. It is a tough course so better read the chapter listed in the outline before go to class. He is a very good person and teacher.
Smart, effective teacher. Yeah I can say I learnt something... Course work load is quite more than what I expected (4a's, project, oral, midterm, final)si I would not recommend to engineers looking for an easy A+ for their elective, because it aint going to happen.
This is a great teacher. He made us work very hard. I would recommend him to all.
I took this class to get an easy A. But it turned out that I had to work very hard. However I learned a lot about Finance and about mother-in-law jokes. The senior speaker brougt to the class from Raymond Chabot... was excellent. Thank you Prof Wahhab, I hope to take another class with you.
Prof Wahhab is the best. He has helped me and so many other students many times. He is also a fantastic teacher.
I took two finance courses with Professor Wahhab.Professor Wahhab is the greatest teacher I have ever had in all my years of schooling. He is simply amazing, gives very inspiring lectures, notes and practice problems and he does a pretty good Micheal Jackson impersonation. He is very witty, has a great sense of humor, understands his material and h
enjoys comming to his class.keeps the class interested.very friendly & intelligent. I wish all my professors were like him. Knows his material well. His unique teaching style makes being a student in his class a pleasure. His sense of humor alone is a reason to come to class. Two thumbs up!
He is very amusing. I recommend you to take him if you have a sense of humor.
Great teacher, the class is REALLY hard, but he does everything possible to help you out. Make sure he knows your name, it can be the difference between a C+ and a B-! Take him especially if you hate your mother-in-law (you'll see why!)Great Prof!
very charismatic man. knows his material inside out and more importantly knows how to get it accros. I loved your class & your mother-in-law jokes. Hellooooooo.
He is a great prof. Comm 308 is very hard. make sure you do all the problems assigned. This is a course that you "invest" alots but only get "low rate of return". Prof. Wahhab will support you, dont worry!
He knows his stuff but CANNOT get it accross at all!!! His exams are a killer, he asks soooo much from you and it is sooooo not worth it!!! This is a very hard class and he doesn't make it at all easier, he confuses you in class! You will basically have to learn it all by yourself! There's a reason why so many people fail this course.
His 2 midterms are impossible. He teaches stuff thats not required by the course. Has 10 pop quizes that count for 10% that are completely unfair. Worst of all, you cant understand anything hes trying to teach so you really need to learn it all by yourself, and even if you know everything, his tests are BRUTAL!!!
Funny teacher, he does teach useless stuff sometimes. very tuff class..suggestion: I BEG U TO CONCENTRATE ON THE QUESTIONS THEY POST ON FIRST CLASS. The book is good for theory that's it. Questions on midterms and finals resemble a lot the questions on first class. Wahhab is good, but no matter how good u need to be up to date and PRAACTIICEEE PLZ
He is one of the best teacher at Concordia. He wants you to think and not only refer to formula. I am switchig my major to finance becuase of him
excellent prof. I recommend to all.
Overall he is good. The only problem..is that you have to WORK YOUR ASS OFF to get a good mark in his class, but you will be pretty well prepared for the final. He teaches you how to solve without the use of that dumb Calculator.
There are better 308 teachers out there. Don`t take him, he doesn`t use the calculator and makes you use long formulas. I went in the final with a barely passing mark, went to the crash course and managed to score 20% higher. He isn`t a great teacher, talks about his mother-in law all the time and isn`t very helpful in his office hours....Don`t tak
The best teacher ever! I am so glad to have taken this course with Prof. Wahhab. He's a very likeable person and he's so approachable! He knows his stuff, and more importantly, relays it to the students in a very interesting manner. He also gives outside examples which help a lot in relating the material to what's going on in the business world.
Fun class, but horrible grades. The exams are hard, there is too much class time allocated to useless stuff. There are better comm 308 prof! He's a very nice guy, but very difficult!
Fun, dedicated teacher. Attendance is necessary to do well, but does little to no problem solving and exams do not reflect assigned problems. Often strays from topic. Exams rather difficult. Not too bad overall.
To make it fair to Wahhab he is not a bad teacher! However his class would be much more useful if he would not waste so much time asking questions to which no one has answers! After all, if we would know the answers we would not need to come to class! His 2 midterm are really hard!Know the problems he posts, inside out!
He is always sending students tons of useless stuff like examples of people who failed somewhen. Good tactic, by the way, to make students think that failing a course is not a bad thing and thus earning his rating. But a nice person is not the same as a good teacher, so I do not recommend him.
The bottom line is that this is a difficult course. Probably the most difficult COMM class at JMSB. I cannot comment as to whether he is a good professor in relation to other professors but I do know that 19% of my section failed the course. A really nice guy and funny at times. His examples do not reflect test questions so you are on yourown a lot
He is the best professor ever, ever......
I liked him. The course itself is quite difficult, but he's a good teacher and classes are interesting.
He loves teaching and loves students. He always wants students to go see him. He knows everyone in class, so you cannot skip any classes. He explains stuff well, but the class, in general, is difficult.
Pro:this professor is soo interested in what he's teaching, available and he cares about students! posted problems are really helpful and you need to go to class(he gives you hints that come on the midterm)he has amazing memory (knows everyone in class). Con: the course is tough and he is too! his midterms are soo hard..pop quizzes are unfair at al
Teacher that always thinks that he is the best. Treats those that don't understand like dummies and makes tons of mistakes!!!! Didn't like the experience. BUT he knows his stuff well!!!!
AMAZING teacher. Makes the class really interesting and worth attending. He knows his stuff perfectly. You leave this class with something in your head. I was advized not to take this class with him. I took Fina 412 (which is supposed to be the hardest finance course after 413) and aced it because of what I learned in 410 with Pr. Wahab. RECOMMENDED
Don't be fool by bad reviews. He IS GOOD! This is a hard course and his midterms are hard, but he will prepare you for the final. Do his practice questions and you should be prepared for the exams. He is SO helpful! Take advantage of his office hours and make him remember your name, it will make a HUGE difference!
Class is hard, whoever you take it is. BUT u gotta take him! I had him last semester and for the first time in my life I remember and understand and use what I have learned in his class for the future. If you are a finance major or minor, you will keep his notes for the rest of your diploma. Attendance is not mandatory but you NEED to be there.GL
He is one of the best teacher I ever had. I read the book during the semester for my midterms and I didnt do well in any idterm and for final I just read his class notes and did some previous finals. He is the best teacher you can ever have in comm 308. His notes ae amazing! Just read his notes and keep the textbook as reference, guaranted.
Horrible teacher! His midterm is only multiple choice that are things you have never seen with him before. He has no slides so if you miss a class you're screwed. Won't give you back grades through email, and is rude when you message him. He has to curve up his grades because too many people failed the midterm Avoid him..
Horrible teacher, does not have powerpoints so if you miss a class good luck. Does not prepare you for the mid term at all. Talks too much about nothing..
One of the best teachers I have ever had. He was helpful and motivated to make sure students understood and succeeded. He was not only a mentor for the course, but also in life. I will never forget him, I wish all teachers were as passionate as him!!!
Really great professor and very clear in his explanations. Also makes great mother-in-law jokes. He is very approachable and loves to help his students. One of the best teachers out there.
COMM 308 with Professor Wahhab was my favorite course at Concordia. He is very methodical in his teaching and interested in the students' learning. He may even guide you in your career path should you seek his advise. Great inspiration to have in the first years of university.
Great experience and excellent education. Professor was patient and very resourceful.
Professor Wahhab is one of the best professors I've had in my life, even when compared to the professors I had at Yale University, where I completed my MBA. He made COMM 308, and inherently difficult course, fun and logical. What you learn with Professor Wahhab will stay with you way beyond the 4 months you are in his classroom.
Prof. Wahhab is probably one of the best professor I've ever had during my 8 years of university education, at the undergrad & graduate levels. He doesn't take anything for granted when it comes to dissecting the topics and giving real life examples about its applications. His exams may be hard but he just pushes you to think outside the box. A+!
Professor Wahhab did a wonderful job in teaching this course. I started this course with absolutely no knowledge of Finance. I was able to advance quickly with his help. He spent hours and hours with me in his office. I sent him a list of 20 questions before midterm and was answering me until the midnight of exam. I have high respect for him.
He focuses on the key topics, providing his own material that synthesizes the course, eliminating the need to use the textbook. He is available to answer/clarify any questions students may have. He gives multiple quizzes, dropping the lowest one, and two midterms, ponderating more for the successful one. The key to success in finance is practice.
Great professor! I would take his class again.
Professor Wahad is probably the best teacher I've ever had. He made a class that I wasn't a big fan off a lot of fun. His sense of humor used to explain Finance is unique. I was really worried about this class before starting and he made my experience very memorable. I strongly recommend Pr. Wahhad as your teacher, he is honestly the best there is.
Professor Wahhab did a great job in introducing the basics of Finance, especially when it seemed abstract to me. He was always willing to assist outside lecture hours when I would not understand a topic. His sense of humour was a constant reminder that this prof. is not out there to get you and is genuinely interested in the student's development.
very nice teacher. wants students to do good, while actually learning the material
One of the best teachers I had during my B Sc. He makes going to class worthwhile: he's incredibly funny, very approachable, extremely knowledgeable, and, most importantly, he gives clear and concise explanations (theory, concepts, etc.) that he supplements with practical examples.
Professor Wahhab was one of the most excellent instructors I have ever had. In addition to giving clear instruction on material covered by the course, he made class extremely interesting and relevant. It was very easy to pay attention and follow along, and he was very open to providing help through office hours or questions in class.
Truly a great man and a great teacher. He can break down Finance so that nothing is that complicated and everything is interesting. He's an old school professor. If you skip class you're missing out. He really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. If you put the effort in he will reward you. Extremely fair marker. Must take. A gem.
Phenomenal prof, show up to lectures be prepared to learn and you will do great!
Prof. Wahhab is knowledgeable, passionate about finance and extremely approachable whenever you need help. He is sincere in his teaching and genuinely concerned about his students' well being. I highly recommend prof. Wahhab as a professor as he easily falls as the best professor's I've ever encountered. Trust me, don't think twice about booking
Professor Wahhab was honestly the best. He made going to class worthwhile. Writes his notes on the board (so don't skip class) & makes everything clear & interesting. Wants you to succeed. Be ready to work hard bc it is a class that requires a lot of practice. Exams were tricky. If you go to each class, practice & take gd notes you'll do great.
i have to be honest this the best prof. his lectures are the best. he doesn't give powerpoint he make a outline sends it a week in advance and you have time to prepare for the next class. PLUS he make relations to his mother in-law with all the concepts so not only are you laughing all the time but its easier to remember.
Professor Wahhab is honestly the most amazing teacher at JMSB. He genuinely cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He sends cool articles and quotes to motivate students. Goes above and beyond just teaching the material. An absolute gem! Hope I have the pleasure of taking him for another course. So much respect for this man.
AMAZING teacher, he knows not all students are in Finance and helps you pass the course so you can move on. COMM 308 is a tough class but he makes it doable for anyone. He also seems to really enjoy teaching. He always provides useful feedback. I would recommend him to anyone.
This guy is the definition of what a JMSB teacher should be. He's stern, intelligent, funny and really prepares you. He wants you to succeed and continue on with your studies. If you need to change your entire schedule just to get him as your COMM 308 teacher I highly recommend you do so.
He's a really good teacher but I mean it's COMM 308 so get ready to work hard.
Professor Wahhab is smart, kind and empathetic but most importantly helps students reach their full potential. 308 is not easy. Prepare for hard work and dedicated studying. He forces you to learn just as much about your character as you will about Finance. Best part comes later on, when you realize only a few of teachers truly shaped your degree.
Professor Wahhab taught me the first finance course in my life. I really enjoyed his amzing lectures. He is very nice and approachable. The tests are fair. If you read the book, took the notes, and did all the practice probelems, you would be fine. The project was challenging and intersting. I learned a lot from the project. Best professor ever!
If I could, I would take this prof for each of my courses! He's hilarious, fair and gives great advice. He is also very approachable and knowledgeable. I would rate him 12/10 if I could!
Very good teacher. Made the subject matter clear and interesting. Also had a good sense of humor and was always available if extra help was needed.
Hard tests but you gotta work to pass
Mr. Wahhabs class are so heavy and sometimes he rambles on real life factors which is interesting but, it wont be in the exam and because of that, he makes make-up classes. He is really knowledgeable and it takes a lot of effort to pass his exams. Also, you need to take notes by hand, theres no powepoint.
Great lectures! He makes the topic very interesting and he is always bringing cool real life examples to class. Take him if you can, if not, audit his class!
His tests are so hard, it seems like he took the hardest problems from past exams and put it all together. Attend weekly tutorial, private tutoring or anything to help you. Don't waste your time on doing the additional practice problems he post on moodle, the questions are way harder in the exam.
I Loved taking this course with Professor Wahhab. He made it very easy despite other students often complaining how hard it could be. Professor Wahhab also cares about his students and is available for advisory any time. He was an integral part of my experience at Uni in this class, for my exchange term and when when applying to graduate studies
Mr. Wahhabs midterms are quite tough! He provides a lot of additional practice questions, which I believe help you develop a solid understanding of the material. Overall he was a caring prof, but theres only so much he can do to help. Get ready to work hard in this class.
Best professor at concordia! He really helped me with everything.. very knowledgeable, approachable and supportive. I would definitely recommend you taking him simply because he really cares for his students and because hes always willing to help out.
His exams compared to other teachers are very hard !
308 is no cakewalk. Monir is a solid prof though, he's elder and respected and has sense of humour. Go to class, listen and take notes on everything, he is transparent about his tests and does teach you everything. BUT 308 is hard, study and practice every week, and listen to his suggestions. HIS NOTES + OLD EXAMS FAIR GRADE
It is a challenging class but Professor Wahhab makes it interesting and gives you the tools to succeed. Pay attention, think through the exercises and do not hesitate to ask him for assistance :) I highly recommend!
Professor Wahhab makes a heavy course interesting. You can tell he is truly passionate about Finance and tries his best to transmit his passion through his class. He did his best to adapt his class and keep it interesting during these unprecedented times. He never misses the chance to make jokes and make his students laugh. Definitely recommended
Prof Wahhab is an amazing prof because you can clearly see that he is passionate about what he teaches. His lectures are never boring and you can see that he is an expert. However, exams are very hard and tricky, and you need to do the studying yourself. He is accessible and open to helping, but get ready to work. No freeloaders in his class.
Professor Wahhab was by far my favourite teacher at JMSB. He goes above and beyond for his students, truly cares, and is so passionate about what he does. Always makes himself available, and is very wise and down to earth. He ignited my passion in finance. He presented 308 in such an amazing way, where I felt extremely motivated.
Porf Wahhab truly cares about his students. I took 308 but we actually met before taking his class as he used ro be an academic advisor. On a personal level, when I went through a very difficult time and ended up in the hospital, he arranged a visit to see me. There aren't too many professors that are willing to lead with true heart and kindness.
Not great. Not bad. The midterm was a disaster to the extent he was surprised. He did help with giving us extra points on quizzes. You HAVE to go to class. He takes names down of who's in class and favors them. The group project was fine. Because the midterm was a disaster, the final was basically what we did in class. Study him and his class.
He is such a good teacher. Truly cares about us. If he is an option in my future classes, I would definitely retake him. The exams were hard, but he did everything to prepare us for them! Go to class, because all the answers are in his lectures!
Took him for 308 last fall and really liked his teaching style and took him again for Fina 395. He cares about students and genuinely loves teaching. I went to his lectures, took detailed notes of his material and never opened the book (except for practice problems). A lot of material is said orally so be sure to note it down. Prof 10/10
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF. I don't understand how he is a professor because he does nothing. Be ready to study fully on your own. He posts nothing useful on Moodle and just tells you to read the textbook. Participation is taken for no reason, since it doesn't count, and is only used to blame students for not understanding.
How he is a professor is honestly a mystery. He's really old and often tells students to speak simple English because he doesn't understand. I don't get how Concordia hasn't changed him, almost 15 people dropped out. He even emailed saying many failed the midterm and better to drop now than later, instead of encouraging us. Is this even allowed?
This prof doesn't use any ppts, and spends lot of class time talking about subjects out of the scoop of the class. The level of difficulty of the exams is not reflected at all in either his explanation or the few problems he upload in moodle. I wouldn't take this prof and I regret doing so based just on the reviews of other students.
