Prof. Taylor knows what she is talking about but she tends to talk in circles. I found it very hard to pay attention to her lectures because she would spend 20 minutes on one slide and then 1 min on an important topic. The tests determine your grade and they are not easy. You should study way more than you think that you need to.
Love Dr. Taylor! Her presentations are fun, but they are very content-heavy. You do not need the textbook. Make sure you actually understand how to do the homework because they mirror exactly what is on the tests. If you don't understand there are a ton of office hours and they will give you the answers. Put in the work and you will be fine.
Dr. Taylor is extremely passive aggressive, and doesn't respect that we have other classes too. Also, her exams are geared for failure, not success. I hand rewrote my notes twice, studied several resources, and spent HOURS reviewing the homework, and managed to get my very first C on her "easiest" exam. IN AN INTRO CLASS. do not take her.
She's a good lecturer, can over-explain things at times. Has a good understanding of the content and the exams and homework are very similar so it's fair.
Taylor was the hardest professor I had this year. I went to all of the lectures and completed all homework. Even though the lowest 2 grades were dropped, the homework is worth such a small % of your grade that it doesn't matter. The tests are nothing like the class material. She made the exams much harder and was not adaptive to student needs.
Morgan Taylor is probably the worst teacher I have ever had. Her teaching is very difficult to understand and her tests are extremely hard with almost no time to even complete them. I have reached out to her multiple times about needing help and each time she offered no help and told me to study more when that clearly wasn't the issue. Steer clear.
Dr. Taylor's PowerPoints are the best, use them. I took notes from the PowerPoint before class and then listened to her lecture during class. She gives a lot of examples and will explain the same concept in 3 different ways to make sure that everyone understands it. Ask questions if you need to! Her instructions are clear. Also, use Top Hat.
Yes she's "nice", but that means nothing when she has tests geared for failure. you could spend half your life studying and still fail. There is so much content she just skims over. This is the only class I'm not doing well in. Do not take her. Genuinely the hardest class I've ever taken/ the worst prof I've ever had, and it's an intro course.
i thought that she would be good because of her rating on here, but she really does not live up to it. what bothers me the most is that the hw on tophat is NOTHING like the test (emphasis on nothing). tests have typos everywhere, and if you challenge/question her about test questions/answers, you can lose more points if you are wrong. not that nice
runs the class like the military... TRUST ME IT'S NOT THAT SERIOUS!!!! only an intro class and the class grade is legit based entirely on tests and hw (which is worth like nothing). lectures aren't that helpful imo... it's just her reading off the slides (which she uploads) lol
Don't understand the praise for Professor Taylor. She makes the course way more difficult than it needs to be. Seems like she does not want you to succeed. Will call on you in class randomly. Does not adequately prepare you for exams. HW is easy, but will not help your grade. 3 exams and a mandatory cumulative final. Take another micro professor.
Dr. Taylor understands the material is difficult and explains it in a very accessible/clear way. If you go to class and take notes you will be set for tests.
Dr. Taylor seriously is the way to go if you're taking ECON2106. She knows what she is talking about and makes the content personable. The content moves really fast so go to class so you have to pay attention a bunch but she makes it make sense. She is funny and makes the class not unbearable. 10/10 reccomend
Morgan Taylor is an incredible professor. You don't really have to attend the lectures, but it's really helpful and engaging when you do attend and you'll definitely have to do the notes later if you don't. She doesn't give extra credit but she's super helpful and understanding if you reach out. If you can get her for ECON2106, do it.
Dr. Taylor was fine for micro. The homework load isn't too bad, and you get two attempts per question. However, exams are tough and weigh a lot. I didn't understand her lectures and would have to teach myself. Econ isn't really my thing so its probably not entirely her fault, but I feel like she overcomplicated concepts in the lectures.
Dr. Taylor is a great professor. I think her principles class has bad reviews, but she is awesome in intermediate. She is heavy on the notes which takes some getting used to, but her tests are straight out of the notes and they are open note. She is engaging and wants her students to understand the material. Only chumps dont like her. #stanky
Professor Taylor is one of the best professors I have had at UGA, do not listen to the bad reviews. Take her for 4010. She is so helpful and really wants everyone to do well. Tests are very straightforward and open note and homework on tophat just once a week. She's amazing and you can get an A with a little bit of work.
My favorite professor of all time. I switched my major to economics with a great deal of fear. Her intro course was super clear and super thorough. I decided to take her intermediate course this semester and I don't regret it. She is one of the most engaging lecturers I have ever had. After her teaching I feel confident to continue my major.
3 tests, a final, and homework. Weekly homeworks relatively easy and really helpful, and counted for 15% of your grade. She was super energetic and always made lectures as interesting as she could. Tests were online and moderately hard, except the 2nd test which is very hard. Tough to get an A; an A- is definitely a good expectation if you try.
she is so fun and energetic! gives major Miss Frizzle from magic school bus energy. I think economics is extremely boring, but I found her lectures to be very enjoyable! probably would've made a higher grade if I didn't screw up the final but that's on me. don't listen to the bad reviews...she's so sweet and I couldn't have asked for a better prof!
I didn't love this class as much as everyone else seems to based on reviews. I thought the class focused a bit too much on unimportant things and then flew through the hard stuff. The tests were honestly kind of unfair and just not to the same level as the homework. Dr. Taylor was also somewhat irritating. Class is an A if you study though,
I love Dr. Taylor! She makes beautiful powerpoints and assigns homework that actually teaches students something. I wish I participated more in her class because I would definitely want to get to know her better. Her lectures are engaging and she makes sure you understand the material.
Tests made up majority of grade and they were pretty vague questioning. I would avoid this teacher if there are other Econ teachers available. If you study and go to class you will probably be fine though.
I really appreciate Dr. Taylor. She does a great job explaining concepts, and the tests pretty concretely follow the same information that the homework goes over. Not a particularly difficult class, but definitely teaches the content very well!
Exam questions are nothing like homework questions. If you want a good grade in your first year, this is not a class to take. Her goal is to have a class average of 80, which is an extremely low goal. Good lecture slides, but the class is very vague compared to the specific questions that end up on the exams.
Do not take her if you want an A or even a B. The class is based on 3 tests and a final. You do bad on one test and you are done for. I had to withdraw because I was going to end up with a D. The 4 tests combined are 85% of your grade. The homework is a lot and only counts 15%. There is no extra credit, so no chance to pull up your grade.
I took professor Taylor for ECON 2106 and I do not recommend that you take her (especially as a freshman). Dr. Taylor's slides are great but they do not correlate with the exam materials in any way. She has a wonderful personality but the class weighs heavily on three exams and a final that is cumulative. Take my advice and find another course.
Dr Taylor may be the best professor I've had. Lectures are easy to follow and take notes on, as well as being enjoyable and engaging. There is very little homework for this course. Homework rarely takes more time than an hour a week. While test are difficult and are a large portion of your grade, going to office hours makes tests a breeze.
Prof. Taylor is fantastic! Her lectures and slides are amazing and she often had fun demonstrations for the class to help us understand concepts. Go to class as much as you can, do the homework and GO TO OFFICE HOURS ONCE A WEEK and you're set! Tests are open-note but challenging and timed. Study for a few hours before each one and you'll be good.
Dr. Taylor was an amazing professor. I'm horrible at ECON, so I wasn't the best in the class. However, she did a great job at explaining the content. Make sure to go to her office hours! The tests are difficult, but they're 10x less difficult if you attend the office hours (:
Taylor was a great professor. She gave good lectures and even many office hour opportunities. Although it's an intro course, don't expect an easy A. Straightforward weekly homework assignments, three tests, and a final. The tests make up most of your grade and can be challenging, but they're open note and if you put in the work an A is attainable.
Her tests are way too hard for an intro-level class. Her homework does not prepare you for the exams
Dr. Taylor is a great professor and works hard to keep the class engaged. However, the weekly homework does not prepare you for the tests. Your grade in this class is determined by three tests and a final.
She is a good professor and offers a lot of office hour times. She is a good lecturer, but your grade is mainly 3 tests and the final. She is incredibly sweet aswell, but the tests are really hard.
Tests are almost exactly like the homework. Very accessible after class, and very caring. She will make the effort to get to know you even in a 200 person class. Sometimes gives like half the test questions on review days. Wish I could take her again.
Dr. Taylor is a great professor who really tries to make her students succeed. However, you have to put a lot of effort into the class, especially for the tests which are very difficult and much harder than the homework. Attending class and going to office hours is the only way to get an A. But overall I liked this class and I hate ECON.
This course is really difficult if you have not taken any AP Econ classes in high school. The homework mirrors the exam somewhat, but she makes the exam difficult so people would not cheat. Even though this exam is online, it wasn't easy. How she grades the class is 85% of her class is exams and 15% is from homework.
Dr. Taylor is a great person and keeps the class fun. She will make the effort to know you if you make the effort to know her. 4 Tests, no drops, 85% of grade. Homework every week is 15%. No extra credit. Class is hard and the tests, though online, are tough and not like the homework. You need to know the content near perfectly to get an A 4 exams.
Dr. Taylor is fantastic professor, she is passionate about economics and makes the lectures interesting. If you thoroughly go through the homework, you will have no problem on the tests.
This class is harder than it needs to be. Professor Taylor does care a lot for her students, but her power points she lectures off of are disorganized. The people that say this class is easy often go to her office hours which not everyone has time for. The class is test heavy and the tests are much harder than they need to be. Would not recommend.
This was a wild class to take as a freshman. Dr. Taylor is a fun & helpful teacher, but if I could redo this semester I wouldn't take her because of how hard her tests are. So much content is packed in 30+ questions and concepts we barely touched on can determine an A. I feel embarrassed about how hard they were even though they were open-note!
TAKE TAYLOR! she is so helpful. ppl who dont do good arent trying hard enough. if you utilize every opportunity she provides (extra help, class, review sessions) you will get an A. this class isnt an easy A but it is extremely rewarding. tophats boost your grade. theres no reason you cant at least get a B in this class.
IF HER PPTS ARE CONFUSING USE KHAN ACADEMY VIDEOS. SHE GETS SO MUCH STUFF FROM THERE!! khan academy + going to class + extra help and youre guaranteed an A.
Morgan was a terrible teacher for an introduction of Microeconomics. She expects you to go to office hours and absolutely prioritize her class above others. Do not take this class if you don't want to be stressed, the other ECON2106 teachers are much better. Save yourself from this class.
I completely regret taking this teacher. Take any other teacher, she makes the tests so unnecessarily hard as if it's advanced economics. I'm not joking, take literally any other teacher. she also gives no extra credit.
She's nice and has great lectures. Homework is fairly decent and not too much. However even though they are open notes and online, her tests are so so hard especially the final which is cumulative.
Professor Taylor is a great professor and if not for her teaching skills, I would have likely failed her class. Like I said, Professor Taylor is a great professor, but her class is quite difficult. While the homework is pretty easy, her tests took me by surprise as they are considerably more difficult than her homework. If prepared, an A is doable.
I would not recommend this professor at all. Her class is graded basically only by test and if you do bad on one your grade will never recover. The homework is unhelpful because of how easy and the test are extremely difficult. If you can take another professor do it because she is not it.
she has the best power points and really good lectures. she helps you understand anything you're stuck on and her office hours before tests are super helpful. however, the class is very hard and the tests take A LOT of preparation and aren't always like the homework. this class is not an easy A but she is a really good teacher.
Dr. Taylor enjoys teaching this class and often provides relevant examples throughout each lecture. She will call on students throughout each class but always asks if she should go to someone else. The homework only half prepares you for exams, so study everything. The Exams are challenging and do not provide much extra time after finishing.
This is a weed-out class for people who aren't math and graph savvy. You'll probably need to study a lot if you have trouble getting math mathematical concepts and applying them. If you've taken some stem classes, this class shouldn't be that difficult. Just stare really hard into those well-crafted PowerPoints and don't just memorize things
just don't. i promise you.
Dr Taylor does a good job of making the class entertaining. She interacts with the class a lot and even though economics/lectures can be boring, I felt like I was really understanding the material. Definitely not an easy class but she is always available to answer questions before and after class and has a lot of office hours.
Dr. Taylor's class is definitely not easy. I worked so extremely hard to get a 92.5 which rounded to a 93, but it is not impossible. Her lectures are very well put together. Homework every week which isn't bad because you get two attempts. The tests are what kill people. My advice: GO TO CLASS AND OFFICE HOURS, and go through every hw for that unit
Dr. Taylor is an outstanding professor. I liked her in principles, but she is even better for intermediate. The class is extremely well organized and straightforward, and office hours are great if you fall behind. Go to every class, take good notes, and use all the homework/practice exams and you should have no problems.
prof taylor is so sweet and funny! she explains the material so well and really makes sure her students understand. her slides are very colorful and fun to look at. going to class is pretty important bc she goes more in depth. only downside is her exams are pretty difficult. i felt like no matter how much i studied i couldn't get higher than a B
This class is very hard. Your grade is mostly based on tests. However, Dr. Taylor is a great professor! Her lectures are enjoyable. Again, what kills people in this class is tests. The best thing to do is go to her office hours and attend lectures even though there's no mandated attendance. It's a hard class overall, but Dr. Taylor helps a lot.
I understand that some of these ratings are 5/5, but if you read them, a lot of them say stuff like "if you use khan, do all the homework multiple times, go to office hours, etc. YOU'LL get an A". All I'm saying is that you definitely could do that, but this is an intro class. You should not HAVE to do that. You have other classes.
The approach the professor took to this class was odd. Students get a loose understanding in class and are expected to dedicate time outside of class to seeking help during office hours or from peer tutors. I am not an economics major, did not want to take this class and did not even remotely enjoy it. Everyone says macro is easier; believe them.
Morgan Taylor is a great person, she is enthusiastic about econ and very organized with her lectures. However, if you are not good at econ, this class is hard. The class is basically graded by four tests. If you bomb a test, your grade is messed up and there's nothing she will do to fix that.
Morgan Taylor has some of the best PowerPoints I've ever seen, and she definitely knows her stuff. That being said, her intro class is very difficult to get an A in (but a B is possible). I recommend going to her office hours, studying notes, and doing practice problems from the weekly homework (TopHat subscription). There's no extra credit.
She is nice and humorous, but the tests were really hard. She is lenient about make up tests though.
Fun person. Good teacher and explanations of hard concepts. Available outside class. Long weekly HWs. Biggest issue is none of the problems on HW or anything else is like the test questions. Concepts are the same but not specific questions so it's almost impossible to prepare for and they are very hard. It is also the majority of your grade.
She was nice and cared about her students. She was very enthusiastic about what she taught. The class was a little difficult, but if you do the hw and study before the tests you should do fine. I thought the homework and practice test well prepared me for the tests.
My grade is my own fault for not knowing how to study for this class; do the extra practice, homework, and go to office hours before the tests and you should be fine. Wonderful, extremely engaging lectures, and the sweetest, best dressed prof at UGA. Would take again and put in more time if I could! A bit of a commitment class imo
I loved having Dr. Taylor for this class. It was hard because the material was hard, but she made it engaging and enjoyable to learn. She is a big part of the reason I enjoy economics so much.
This class definitely requires some work, but it is really helpful to go to her office hours if you have questions. She is very nice and very knowledgable about the material. Even though the tests are open note, you definitely need to study to make sure you understand the material.
Taylor was an amazing teacher and her lectures were entertaining. The tests are definitely harder, but she really does want her students to succeed. She is very accessible outside class and has numerous office hours with her TAs & always holds review sessions before tests. The grade is quite dependent on exams & a small portion is homework (easy).
Amazing professor and is super organized. Her tests are difficult but if you study and prepare an A is very possible. Tophat HW is helpful for understanding what questions on tests will be like.
This class shouldn't be this difficult for just an intro class. Your grade is basically made up of 3-4 exams and she doesn't drop any of them. Homework is much easier than the tests and it looks completely different so there are very few ways to really study. If you fail one exam your grade is screwed for the rest of the semester.
I would never take this class again. Her homework looks nothing like the tests, and if you dont attend class, and office hours, prepare to fail. This class actually made me change my major. I love Taylor, but for an intro class this is much harder than it needs to be. Good luck.
Professor Taylor is extremely passionate about her teaching. You can tell she wants everyone to succeed, while also being challenged. It's tophat homework and 4 exams and that's it. You'll have to study and I'd recommend going to class, but she posts all her slides. She's great with office hours and explaining hw. I'd take her again!
The bad reviews are from people who didn't try in her class. All the homework and tests are online and open notes. Only graded on these assignments, the lowest HW grade is dropped. If you need a micro credit, TAKE HER!
Taylor is a great prof. She really cared about her students and was passionate about what she talked about. However, the class is hard. I studied a lot for this class but suck at econ and didn't do good on the tests at all. The tests are online on TopHat, which isn't great. I suffered in this class, not because of the prof but bc the tests.
I really enjoyed Professor Taylor, and you need to attend office hours in order to succeed. Tests are all online, open note, and you get two tries per homework question. If you get a homework question wrong the first time, go to office hours and have her explain it to you!
Morgan Taylor is very passionate about the subject and is always very enthusiastic in class. She teaches the material in a way that everyone understands it. The office hours are also very helpful. However, the class shouldn't be this challenging for an intro-level course.
Professor Taylor has really good slides but assigns weekly homework that can be long and it is also much much easier than the tests so you are somewhat unprepared.
The class is graded off very few things and the exams are extremely difficult since they are significantly harder than the homework. For an intro level class she is not an easy teacher at all but she is passionate about the subject. It was frustrating when you get to the tests after you studied and you don't understand the questions.
Professor Taylor was one of the hardest classes I have taken so far. She was good overall and is very passionated about the subject, but you are only graded on 3 tests at 20% each, a final at 25%, and hw at 15%, so if you do bad on an exam it's going to be hard to get the grade you want. The tests are hard but definitely possible to do well.
The class and tests can be difficult, but her lectures are exciting and she is very good at explaining things. The test is graded almost entirely on the three tests and the final. Homework is pretty easy, but it doesn't count for much of your grade. Just make sure you study and go to class and you'll be fine.
If you really pay attention in class you can grasp the material, since class itself is good but preparing for tests is very difficult, since the homework is way way easier than the test.
I actually loved her, if you actually do your homework yourself and not with your friends it is such a great class. I think she had great slides so if you miss class its not the end of the world, just read every slide carefully.
Tests a lot harder than the homework
If you really pay attention in class you can grasp the material, since class itself is good but preparing for tests is very difficult, since the homework is way way easier than the test.
I've had Dr. Taylor for intro and intermediate, and she's by far one of the best professors I've had at UGA. Her lectures are clear and organized, and she genuinely cares about students' success. She cold calls pretty frequently in lecture which can be intimidating at first, but her teaching style makes studying for the exams a breeze.
She teaches this class super effectively and tries to help her students wherever she can. Doesn't kill you on tests.
She's very interested and enthusiastic about economics, and that made her lectures interesting and very funny. The class is extremely lecture heavy, so while attendance wasn't required and she posts the lectures on ELC, it was beneficial to go. While the exams were all online, you still have to study a ton. Overall, would take her class again.
She is a good professor in the sense that she knows what she's talking about. In comparison to other professors, her class is much harder and I would avoid it if possible. The tests are unfair in how hard they are and she refuses to offer extra credit. I know multiple people who attended every class and did all the homework and are retaking it. Bad
Professor Taylor makes her lectures interesting and pretty easy to understand, but her homework and lectures do not prepare you for the tests. Your grade is mainly based on 3 tests and a final. Since the tests are open note, she won't give questions that you can easily find in your notes. Therefore, the tests are difficult to take and study for.
Prof. was a great lecturer that could keep your attention all throughout the lecture. 3 tests 60%, 1 final 25%, and hw 15%. The tests were a bit more difficult than the homework and the lectures were ok in terms of exam prep. A lot of critical thinking skills are needed for the exams, they are pretty difficult! Strict w/ no extra credit policy!
Dr. Taylor is a great lecturer and her class is interesting, but she's a tough grader. There are 3 tests and a final. The tests aren't terrible but they're harder than the HW, but the final was extremely difficult with no curve. I had an A throughout the course until the final, which dropped me to a B+. Easy class until the final.
Overall difficult class. The exams take more preparation. What helped me most was redoing all the hw's before an exam and going to the TA's office hours. It takes a lot of dedication and effort to do well. Hw's aren't too bad. Final exam was hard and fully cumulative. Go to class and understand everything in order to do well!
such an engaging lecturer and amazing at explaining all concepts. she really engages with students and has SOOO many useful office hours!!! weekly TopHat hw but she offers help, but most of the grades are with 3 exams and the final which are kinda tough. open note exams and work but bc of that the questions are much harder, so you def have to study
Dr. Taylor is an outstanding teacher. You should to go to class in order to take notes and understand the material. She is extremely well-versed in economics and does a great job breaking down the topics. You are graded on homework, three tests, and a final exam, all of which are open note. If you go to class and study in advance, you will do well.
Professor Taylor is fantastic. Yes, this class is challenging, but she is there for everyone who wants extra help in and out of class. I have never had a professor with such engaging lectures, and she has the most detailed, well-designed slides. Makes the info a lot more digestible. Take her if you can!
LOVE HER. Everyone says she is so hard, but I thought it was pretty similar to my AP Econ in HS. The only grades are 3 tests, final, and weekly HW, so actually study. The tests are online and open note, but I would say to still take time a few days before to write out some brief notes to help instead of looking online. Awesome ppx and so engaging.
Dr Taylor has been my favorite professor so far at UGA. The manner in which she teaches is clear and concise, and I really appreciate her ability to understand the points that could be difficult without us bringing them up. She helps as much as she can to get you the grade you deserve in the class
Great professor! Would definitely take again!
I hated sitting in this class.
Probably the worst teacher I have ever had. Not very helpful when trying to get help. I enjoyed economics until I had this professor.
studied forever and still ended up failing all quizzes and tests so far. Changed rules so all tests/ quizzes are closed book for this semester, you only get a one-sided crib sheet for the tests. Very difficult to memorize everything in time and understand lectures. Really need one on one tutoring multiple times a week to do well in this class.
Literally the worst teacher and the tests and quizzes are so hard. I grind so hard and still struggle to maintain a good grade in this class. She goes way too fast and expects everyone to understand what she is saying.
Dr. Taylor is a great economics professor. Her class is super dependent on showing up because it's hard to understand the topics without her explanation. If you pay attention and take notes the class is super easy. Tests and quizzes are difficult but fair and you get a two-sided crib sheet for exams. Great class, would take again.
A large part of why I enjoyed this class was because I enjoyed derivatives in previous classes, but Taylor was also a great teacher. She is great because you can use your notes for the test, and if you have organized notes and have done the practice exam, you should be good to go! Warning, she may cold call on you...but she leads you to the answer.
Dr. Taylor is a great choice for ECON 2106, much better than Dinkar from what I have heard. She lectures pretty much every day so be ready to take notes and listen. Attendance is taken by IClicker questions that aren't too hard if you've been paying attention. She'll hint as to what is on quizzes and tests in her lectures so that helps out a ton.
Awful. The ECON department this semester changed the way the tests are done, so now all tests are in person and she makes it so much harder than it was before. She lets you make one sided cheat sheet for the test, but you have no time to look at the sheet during the test. The tests are SO quick and difficult, I can never finish them.
She redid her slides and made new ones this year, and now teaches her made-up topics aren't even online and the homework is based off the book so you have no extra practice with the material before the test. Only thing is that she explains most concepts well, but I really don't think she actually wants her students to do well as she pretends.
Econ is a tough and extremely boring subject, but Dr. Taylor makes it manageable. She's super engaging and funny, never a dread going to her class. Will say the class itself is hard but she does everything in her power to try and help you.
Mrs. Taylor is the best like ever. All the bad reviews are people mad that she changed the way she did her tests(the department MADE her do this). She is incredible and it's a pretty easy course.
Concepts are easy to understand but test and quiz questions are pretty complicated and difficult.
Enrolling in Taylor's class is subjecting yourself to an auditory assault, the volume is consistently maxed out, and any genuine concern for student success is absent. Expect unpreparedness for quizzes and tests. Mandatory attendance, even when other professors cancel, makes every session an unavoidable ordeal. Pack Advil; you'll need it.
The ratings saying that Taylor doesn't care haven't tried to reach out and ask for help. She cares a lot about her students and the department made her make the class harder. She still does little things to make it easier (add sides to a crib sheet, give extra practice, hints at what quiz questions are). Do the homework and extra practice.
Great teacher, and super nice. Attendance is not technically required but she has iClicker attendance and questions for a participation grade. Tests are quite difficult, but all other assignments/quizzes are easy.
Dr. Taylor's class is hard no matter what, but she makes the class very engaging. She has super helpful office hours twice a week and is always happy to answer questions. She is super funny and makes class entertaining. If you have to take micro she is awesome!
It is a very hard class but she is a great teacher. Her powerpoints are very easy to follow even if you miss class. she is also very approachable at office hours and she is very passionate about economics and you can tell through class.
Taylors a great teacher, but her exams can be difficult. She lets you know a good amount of questions on the exam before the actual exam, and you get a page of notes you can use for the exam. The tests are no longer online and the quizzes are not open note. Besides that, if you've taken microeconomics the class should be very easy for you.
Taylor is clearly very passionate about economics, and her lectures are very thorough and easy to understand. However, the tests can be much harder than the HW/quizzes due to the time crunch. Lets you have a page of notes for tests and is pretty clear about what will be on them. Attendance isn't required but she does iClickers. Cumulative final.
Honestly one of my favorite professors I have had. She is amazing. Her slides are really easy to follow and quizzes are easy. Exams are more difficult but aren't too bad. If you think this will be an easy A, dont. Expect to study and focus in class.
Probably the most enjoyable professor I've taken at UGA so far. She makes everything so easily digestible and is always asking if people need clarification on any of the topics being presented. 4010 is mostly math-focused, but none of it is especially difficult. You also get a page of notes for exams, and the content covered is very fair.
Let me start off by saying I think Dr Taylor is a great lecturer. However, the tests were just so unfair and there was just serious inefficient preparation given. I studied for hours and went to every office hours session still and did awful on exams. This is an intro level course and have never been more stressed out about a class.
she is so cutie, I love her. the tests are kinda hard but if you study you will do fine. the hw and quizzes help prepare you.
this woman is crazy. great lecturer and nice person she's just a lot. the homework assignments were a lot harder than the test and quizzes in my opinion. you have to devote a lot of time to this class to do well. she does allow 1-2 sheets of notes for the exams and 2 front and back for the final. the main issue is the time constraint on the quizzes
I love Dr. Taylor. You have to show up if you want to understand the material because she doesn't use slides, but her lectures are great. You get to make a cheat sheet for exams, and she pretty much tells you what will be on the test, so they're not hard if you pay attention. Not an easy A, but definitely a doable A if you take notes in class.
dr. taylor is helpful and classes are engaging, but often ran overtime. the homework can be tricky sometimes and the quizzes tend to be fairly easy, but the exams are bit more difficult. it is possible to do well in this course if you study using the presentations, iclicker questions, and past exams/quizzes. this class made me like economics.
Dr. Taylor was an amazing professor. Out of the limited professors who teach this class, she is by far the best. My only complaint is that she moves very quickly in class.
Super interesting lectures. Always uploaded the slides before class to use during lecture and review after. Exams were not easy but she often gave us a few questions that would be on there to help out. Office hours are also super helpful and answers any questions before/after. As long as you study the homeworks and her study guides, you'll do well.
She is an amazing lecturer and has amazing powerpoints that help so much. The class is hard but I felt like I learned so much because she teaches the material very well. The class is graded on quizzes, tests, weekly homework, and iclicker. It is important that you go to class to get iclicker points. Highly recommend that you take her.
Not the easiest class ever but making an A was possible with intentional studying. Macroecon was definitely easier. Concepts were not always taught clearly by Dr. Taylor. Apparently from other students, office hours were beneficial. Homework and quizzes make up the majority of your grade, so I would actually recommend taking your time on them.
Good PowerPoints and lectures. Tests and quizzes are hard, but if you go to office hours and study she never tests on something not covered by homework. Tests are application or concept questions, not definitions. She is a great lecturer and if you need more help she or a TA are available and the textbook is a great resource. 10/10 recommend.
I am not an econ major, and I was scared to take this class. I could not have asked for a better professor. Dr. Taylor actually makes the material interesting, and this is a class where working hard pays off. I definitely put in a lot of effort, this isn't an easy class. make sure to show up for the iclicker though.
I love this women. She is so funny, had amazing lectures, and simplified all the content extremely well. Her tests are difficult but super fair, and she makes sure everyone is prepared. Her slides are amazing if you miss class, however it is super beneficial to go due to i clicker and her lectures. Professor Taylor made me enjoy economics.
Take Dr. Taylor!!! You get a note sheet for the exams and she basically hints you on exam material. I suggest going to every class (and office hours) to ask questions. This class is heavily math based with a lot of derivatives, but it's not necessary to have prior knowledge. I found this class a lot easier than principles.
Professor Taylor herself is fantastic. By far the most entertaining and informative professor I have had the joy of taking at UGA. However, the exams/quizzes in this class are extremely difficult, and make it very difficult to get a good grade. However, if you go to office hours, like I did, it will make your life a lot easier.
Barely had to study for this class. Just do the homework (really do it, don't just blindly guess; learn the material before moving on) and you will do well. Dr. Taylor is very funny and brings life into this lecture-heavy class. Attendance isn't mandatory but 5% of the grade is attendance questions.
Not a very easy class if it doesn't click for you but she's a good teacher. She's very energetic and keeps you engaged with real life examples and stuff. Sometimes cold calls (especially if you're wearing bright colored clothes) but not super often. Overall wants you to do well, just pay attention and ask for help if you need it
she gives an abundant amount of resources to help you learn the material and has lots of office hours. my main complaint about this class is how short the tests are, if there is one thing you don't know well you'll get a B. It's difficult material but she really is a good teacher
This class is challenging. The exams and quizzes are difficult. Morgan definitely brings the energy when she is teaching. There is a lot of content so pay attention and be thoughtful during homework. You will learn a lot from her if you engage.
Morgan Taylor keeps you engaged in class and is very energetic when teaching. She explains the content well, but the test are super hard. I suggest attending office hours before test and quiz.
as a non-econ student, Dr. Taylor is the best thing that happened to me. Hard work pays off well in this class! she is the only econ prof I've had that can keep my attention, and she wants her students to do well. Tests and quizzes are clear, not a bunch of surprise questions or anything, she also allows for crib sheets.
Professor Taylor was extremely helpful and kind. I was worried to take micro before macro, but she explained so that it was easy to understand. I didn't really read the book. The tests are a lot like the practice exams, iclickers and homework. She gives you a lot of exam hints in office hours so go for free answers on the tests and exams.
Ive had her intro/it was great and this class was great but its not disability friendly, besides lectures that she writes on the board there's no supplemental materials so you are dependent on your notetaker to take good notes if you're disabled and can't make her class all the time. One sided cheat sheet, 3 tests + final+ hw. attendance optional.
Dr. Taylor is an amazing professor. Her lectures are really informal. If you go to class everyday and pay attention, you should do well. With that being said, I recommend not skipping a class because you could miss a lot. She also gives extra credit with the in class online questions which is an initiative to go.
bit of an odd lad
passionate for sure. sometimes a little over the top but better than the opposite i suppose.
As a professor she is good, it is just a hard class. Her GLA's were horrible though and didn't grade the test but never posted them before drop add because they had "left it in their office"... I hope this is handled because that is unacceptable.
Maybe I just suck at ECON but her lectures had a lot of content and homework never prepared you enough for the quizzes/tests. She's very passionate and good at making class fun but also expects you to devote everything towards her class. Iclicker was used for "attendance" but has very little weight towards your overall grade.
Dr. Taylor was a great individual and was really really good at teaching the content. If you plan on doing something in Econ, take her! But if you are not, take another professor. This grade could potentially tank your grade. The exams were extremely hard and you need need need to study if you want to get a good grade. Studied hours, wasn't enough.
Not that bad if you have previous economics knowledge (from HS) but she is a very passionate teacher and tries to make class engaging. Mandatory attendance through IClicker, tests are not that easy. Mandatory final which is 20% of grade. Weekly homework (easy). Bad thing is no extra credit/dropped grades, not the easiest class but you will succeed.
2nd time taking class: Exams+Quizzes make up 80% of your grade, time will also feel limited on these. If you want to do well, take advantage of Skoolers & Office Hours. Get tutor. Dr. Taylor is enthusiastic and engaging, and she provides practice quizzes&tests, but rarely do they reflect the real deal. Some material is also not in the textbook.
I absolutely love Dr. Taylor! I also took her ECON2106 class and I would say this class is much easier to be successful in with much more direct testing content. Definitely come to her lectures because the notes aren't posted but she explains concepts so well & gives you amazing test prep (basically gives you the questions) & you get a cheat sheet!
Very enthusiastic, class was often enjoyable although I have no interest in economics. Final was 20% and tests were 45%. homework isn't bad. definitely study and take it seriously, but it's not impossible. it was very stressful at times but I genuinely believe that it wasn't the professor, that's just how the class is.
Did well in her class despite unnecessarily hard exams, including an impossible cumulative final. If I could go back I wouldn't take her again.
Very enthusiastic and although she seems to care for her students, she is not accommodating. Exams were unnecessarily difficult and are 45% of your grade. Attendance is mandatory because of several iClickers per class. Otherwise you can do the class on your own since she just reads off the slides.
Although Dr. Taylor is very knowledgeable about the material we go over in class, it rarely reflects the material seen on the exams which were unnecessarily difficult for an introductory class. Utilize both her and the TAs office hours and go over clickers, homework questions, and extra practice for the exams. Good luck if you're taking her...
Hard class but great teacher! I really enjoyed her lectures and her tutoring is very helpful.
Don't take taylor. Her class is really difficult. If you want to do well, don't get behind. Make good grades on all the quizzes and go to office hours with her TA. Class is fast paced, and you'll fall behind if you miss too many.
So enthusiastic about econ!!! Such a gem if you get to know her. This class can be difficult but if you actually go and take notes you will be good. Also took her for econ4010 maymester and loved her. Highly highly highly recommend going to office hours if you can.
took in maymester 2024 and was definitely a challenge because it was so fast but she truly made it awesome. this class made me appreciate economics and want to take more econ classes. come to class everyday because it builds day by day. tests are fair and 100% based on lectures.
She was a good ish teacher but made the class way harder than needed to be. You could take the same class with a different professor and breeze through it. She was not very kind either.
Overall, I slacked in this class. The content wasn't terribly hard to understand but if you don't understand the material fully then you won't perform well on the tests. The professor gives great lectures, super high energy, and does a good job explaining. Office hours and studying outside of class are a must.
She was a really entertaining teacher and kept the class engaged. I felt like I never had enough time to finish the exams.
In the Spring of 2023, Morgan Taylor makes the course the best possible since the course is not the easiest. She provides plentiful practice problems. She explains information in multiple different manners for different type of learners (e.g. audible, visual, read/write). She hosts a review session a day before the exam in person and on Zoom.
She is all over the place. She does not communicate very well and everything is on paper. She will not answer questions promptly and most of the time she seems confused when you ask something. She yells at the whole class. The first week we talked about pizza the whole time and she did not connect it to the subject matter. I would not take her.
Professor Taylor's class is challenging but engaging. Attend lectures, utilize office hours and study tools like unstuckstudy AI to succeed. Tests may not align with lecture, so stay on top of the material.
Professor Morgan is great! Her class is hard but she has engaging lectures, and prioritizes learning. Homework is difficult, but she offers plenty of office hours to help with that homework. She is a pro at teaching this class, and I recommend her to anyone taking econ 2106.
Dr. Taylor is such an amazing professor. She is clearly passionate about what she teaches and makes class and material fun to learn and experience. I would 10/10 recommend her to anyone who is planning on taking Microeconomics.
Do NOT take Morgan Taylor as your Micro teacher. Her lectures are all over the place and you will need to teach most of the material to yourself. Tests/quizzes are on paper and you are given an unfairly short amount of time to complete. Tests and quizzes are nothing like the practice ones. Avoid her class, she makes it much harder than necessary.
Shes nice and class is straightforward. Tests and quizzes are evil tho.
This course content was pretty average however, this professor was not considerate. I had a few incidents during my semester in her class, and there was absolutely no attempt to understand. If you´re sick, even with documentation, there is no care, and you cannot make up anything. She will make fun of students for the ¨lecture¨.
Dr. Taylor gave very thorough lectures that made it easy to understand the material that was being taught. The only thing is that the weekly homeworks can be a bit tedious but definitely worth taking her over other professors.
Taylor is cool, puts effort into her class and makes her lectures as engaging as possible. However, the grades on quizzes/tests mean everything and are not curved so you have to do well on those or you're not going to get a good grade.
I have never loved a professor the way I do Morgan Taylor. People who think her class is hard just dont study or dont go to class. If you go to every class and pay attention you'll be fine. Her lectures are very engaging and interesting. There is homework each sunday put you can chat gpt it.
Morgan Taylor is a very good professor, however when it comes to testing, the level of difficulty is exorbitant compared to other professors. If you are here for the grind I would take this class.
her lectures are really good, and she explains things really well. the tests are atrociously hard; they are in person and on paper. you get a cheat sheet for the test but you typically are crunched on time so take that how youd like. her office hours are so so useful so go to them
so hard. shes a passionate teacher but if econ isn't your thing, take an easier professor.
Her tests and quizzes are so extremely hard for no reason. She will make the homework and practice exams so much easier than the real ones. She is very passionate and cares about econ. Go to office hours! She will help with homework and give some answers. There are in class I-clickers. Overall, her exams will be the death of me
This class was so unneccesarily hard... especially the exams compared with other professors. There was never enough time for the exams and they were very different from the practice exams and study guides she provided.
She is very sweet as a person and honestly not a bad lecturer at all. But my god the tests and the quizzes were hard. If you mess up on them you are basically screwed as there were no extra creds or exams dropped. One of those classes where i felt like no matter how much i studied, i was still bang average. if econ is ur thing take it if not avoid
its a difficult class, but Taylor honestly made it worth it. she is so enthusiastic and energetic which makes it easy to be engaged. definitely requires studying, but she provides plenty of practice material. she doesn't take attendance, but she does use clicker almost daily. I would love to take another class with her!
Very fun lady but micro is just a difficult subject for many. I don't think she was especially confusing, and gave great examples and explanation of theory. But, sometimes can get too caught up in details to the point where it can feel difficult to parse how to DO what we are learning. TAs are much better for that.
Dr. Taylor is awesome. The class material is hard by itself, but she makes it very easy to understand. You do have to go to class and study. She also has office hours twice a week and they are literally just 2 extra hours of class time. If you pay attention and take notes you will be fine!!! She is very entertaining and makes class fly by. TAKE HER
She is an entertaining speaker but her class is so hard. Her tests are worded extremely confusing and they are so much harder than the practice exams. Also the other micro teacher drops your lowest exam and she doesn't. If you have to take her you will be fine but you're just going to have to study a ton.
Dr. Taylor gets hate for no reason. She is a fantastic professor teaching a course that requires a lot of work no matter what. She provides sufficient resources and is accessible outside of class. She is engaging and is NOT a snooze fest as she connects well to students. Not an easy A but great Professor.
I love LOVED professor Taylor. Yes, she was hard and the class was difficult for a "principles" class, but if you went to her lectures and gave yourself enough time to complete homework/extra studying, you'll be fine. I'm a freshman and I managed to scrape an A-. She allows you to have a one-sided note sheet for the tests too.
Quizzes and Tests above all.
Professor Taylor lectures were very engaging and helpful to understand the content of 2106. The class consists of homework (very tedious/graded for accuracy), learning curves, quizzes and tests. The quizzes and tests are very straight forward but sometimes worded annoyingly which made it difficult at times. Overall the class isn't too bad.
Dr. Taylor has very clear notes and is an entertaining lecturer. While her tests and quizzes weren't super easy, she gave us practice exams that were pretty helpful. She uses iClicker for participation, which is kinda annoying, but the questions are pretty easy. Would definitely take her again.
VERYYYY test heavy. Have 3 tests and each is 15% of your grade. If you bomb one you could not get an A in the class regardless of final grade. Quizzes are sometimes hard but they barely count and you still have to study from them. She teaches the material well but the tests are still super hard.
Lectures were awful and unfocused. Tests are extremely difficult compared to the information discussed in class. Honestly a nightmare of a course for anyone to take.
Lectures were decent and Dr. Taylor was very enthusiastic. The pitfall of this class were her unnecessarily difficult quizzes and exams. Not only that but they make up 3/4 of your final grade. Practice tests and exams helped but were never adequate enough so prepare to learn a good chunk of material outside class. Much harder than necessary.
Loved Taylor! Wish she could teach me every class. Don't make the mistake of cramming, but you'll get a good grade if you work for it. She's also amusing and her PowerPoints are fantastic. I learned so much in this class.
Solid for a mass lecture teacher. Lectures covered what was going to be on tests and quizzes fairly well, which ends up being the majority of your grade. You do need to be present in class to do Iclicker questions, or have a friend log into your account to do them.
you either get it or you don't, or you do but not good enough. She was a great lecturer. She emotes when she talks but in a good/funny way. This class was pretty difficult for me, she tells you at the beginning of the semester to lock in, don't doubt it. if you want an A you either are naturally intelligent or you LOCK TF IN.
Lectures are interesting and taught well, but the tests are way too hard. The tests are much harder than the iclicker questions and practice test questions given out. If you can take another professor because their classes are much easier. They give online quizzes and drop one test grade, while she does not. There is no extra credit.
Dr Taylor is super engaging and entertaining! I would totally recommend her class. As long as you go to class you will do well!
Dr. Taylor is the best lecturer that I have had at UGA. She keeps you engaged and explains the topics clearly. This class has four quizzes and four tests, making it seem like there is always something to study for, which is challenging. Her exams are the hardest; there are too many questions and insufficient time.
I really liked her as a person, but the tests and quizzes were unnecessarily hard. I had a B+ throughout the class and it dropped to a B because of the final. The questions are overly confusing and I felt no matter how much I studied it wasn't enough. She is a great lecturer, but wouldn't recommend her over another professor.
Dr. Taylor's tests will be so much harder than how she explains the concepts in class. She will fool you into thinking you understand the concepts by explaining easy practice problems, and then when it's test time, she will give you the tough questions that are very subjective and nuanced. She made it way harder than it needed to be. Dont take her!
Professor Taylor is my favorite professor at UGA. I had her for Econ 2106 and 4010 - and I loved both. She's an amazing lecturer, clears up any confusion in office hours. She basically tells you what will be on the test and gives you a cheat sheet for each test. Show up to class and you'll do good.
Dr Taylor is a cutie and explains things very well. Try to go to every lecture because each class builds off the next so it's very easy to get behind if you miss a class. OFFICE HOURS. Office hours saved me and she literally tells you what kind of problems will be on tests, so please take advantage as much as possible.
She was a nice teacher, made class entertaining and was easy to follow. We were able to bring a sheet of notes to the tests, which other professors do not allow. However, her tests are harder than the other professors tests. We did not get note sheets for the quizzes, which were hard too. She uses iclicker for participation. Get skoolers if needed.
Dr. Taylor is a good lecturer and the presentations are helpful. Unfortunately, she does everything in her power to make this class as difficult as possible.
Professor Taylor was a great teacher for this class! She is very enthusiastic about the material and makes the classes engaging for all students. Her exams and quizzes are difficult, and all homework is graded on accuracy not completion, but she is a great teacher. Go to class and study and you'll do well!
Holy Dr. Taylor did everything in her power to make this class as difficult as possible. While she very passionate about Economics, it felt as if she did not want her students to succeed, yet only to struggle. Her tests were extremely challenging, with an outrageous amount of questions in very little time. Did not enjoy. Take any other professor.
Attendance not mandatory but iclicker for attendance. This is not lenient. Almost need to record class because there is so much information. Starts easy but gets complicated quickly. There is no curve and cannot retake exams. If you do bad that is your grade. No extra credit. Talks fast. Tests every 2 weeks, homework every 2 weeks. Be prepared.
Girlies, this is a great Econ class. I spent around 2-3 hours per week on this class (homework) unless we had an exam or quiz that week. She gives you alllll the material you need to know, so you just have to do the homework and study a little bit! It's not an easy class necessarily, but it's so doable. You've got thissssss
There is an attendance grade through iClicker. I thought Dr. Taylor was engaging, informative, and super knowledgeable. The exams are difficult and there are only 3 of them, so be sure to start strong so you don't get super behind. There's usually homework every week or so, but it was never too much. I definitely learned a lot.
I took this in the Maymester and really enjoyed the quick pace. She does amazing with a smaller class size and is very involved with the material. Super knowledgeable and wants you to succeed. Not an easy class by any means but she really puts the work in to try and help you succeed. You get to DIY a note sheet for all exams and that is so helpful.
Lectures were fun and overall a good professor but the tests felt unnecessarily hard. There's no test replacement or extra credit so make sure to do well on the tests since they're weighted heavily. She uses iClicker for attendance and questions.
Do not take this teacher for Micro Economics. Class is impossible compared to other teachers who make it a piece of cake.
Taylor's class is very doable, but you could take the same clas with another prof and have it be a breeze. While I got an A, I did hours of textbook reading and slide review. As long as you take it seriously you Will be fine.
She was not the worst like people are saying, but the homework does weigh a lot if you do not try your hardest on your first try, the tests were harder than the other professors, but if you study and do practice problems you should be fine!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS take another professor because she makes this class way harder than it has to be. the practice material for tests and quizzes does not align with what is actaully on the quiz. lectures are too fast and there is no drop for tests. pretty slides tho
Nightmare of a class. The quizzes are unreasonably hard. No matter how much study material whether its the practice quiz or extra homework practice, NO MATTER WHAT, multiple questions on the quiz will be different from class. She says the practice quiz isn't enough preparation for the quiz. WHY NOT!? She doesn't want you to succeed plain and simple
Literally one of my favorite professors I've ever had. The material is difficult but she teaches it very well and wants to make sure you understand it. She is very accommodating and insanely engaging. Going to class is highly recommended but she will get you the notes if you miss. Would 100% take her again if I could. Once again, LOVE HER!
Taylor might be my favorite professor I've ever had! She is so funny and all of her lectures were thorough and easy to understand. It is a fast paced class so there is a lot of material to cover, but I've never felt like I couldn't grasp all of the content before the tests. Love this woman.
TAKE HER! She's a good teacher who cares about the students. You get a cheat sheet on exams, her lectures/slides are very beneficial. She's super theatrical, which helps keep the lectures entertaining. Prob one of my favorite profs I recommend her to everyone. She uses top hat, and you have two homeworks a week (they're easy). 4 exams four quizzes.
Very lecture heavy with mandatory attendance. Tests nothing like practice tests or material that she teaches.
Try and get dinkar(his tests are online and he does examples in class) you will end up having to teach yourself almost everything because she babies the easy material and never explains what will actually be on the tests/quizzes. There are never any examples shown in class and iclickers are watered down. Shes nice and tries hard.
Honestly one of my favorite professors- she is great at explaining material with examples, posts all of the slideshows, and there are only 2 homeworks per week which aren't very difficult. The exams and quizzes are hard and the wording of questions can be confusing, but if you go to class and study an A is achievable. Take her!!
Morgan Taylor is very well versed in microeconomics, so much so that she makes the introductory course harder than it should be. She is a solid lecturer, but the majority of the examples she does in class are nothing like the exams. You are given practice exams for the tests, but she says they are nothing like the exams. If you take her, good luck.
do NOT take Morgan Taylor. she lectures about things that aren't on the test and flies over any problem that it similar to test questions. If she would focus on problems similar to those on the test, she would be decent, but she does not do that at all. All other professors are much more straight forward and prepare you for the test. Avoid for sure
She's very knowledgeable and her slides are very easy to grasp. Just show up to class and study and you'll be fine. She's a very engaging lecturer too. Super funny
She spends the majority of the time simplifying common knowledge and does not explain the math aspect. She makes her tests extremely difficult and the practice problems do not reflect the material on the tests. If possible, stay far away from this professor if you want a passing grade and little stress.
She was very loud and energetic about all the wrong things. Her quicrky attitude is better suited for a elementary school. She seems to know her content, but does not do a good job at giving examples of what to expect on exams. Her in class problems on TopHat and her practice test are all super easy while the test and quizes always were not.
Practice tests are nothing like actual tests. Quizzes are very hard. Used IClicker for mandatory attendance. No extra credit. Take a different professor.
Morgan genuinely is one of the sweetest and funniest professors you'll meet in class. However, her class requires a lot of attention and studying outside for quizzes and tests. Had I taken this class fall semester, I might've had more time to commit to studying and retaining the information. The TAs are easily accessible even on weekends! Attend!!!
She is a great teacher who makes lectures engaging and easy to follow, and she does a good job at explaining graphs. Used iClicker to take answers, but you can just do them from home if a friend sends you the answer. Practice tests and quizzes are very helpful.
Dr. Taylor is very nice and funny but this class is hard. You have to put in a ton of studying for her tests. I barely got a B and it took a lot of work.
10/10, highly recommend. The best course I've taken at Terry so far.
She is so entertaining and animated I was never bored during her lectures. The homework load was manageable with 1 assignment a week. Her tests are evil and you need to study a lot. But she honestly does a great job at explaining things especially in her office hours. Also loved that the TAs had weekend office hour choices it was very convenient.
I love Dr. Taylor! Lectures could be boring butt she did her best to make them fun and engaging. Overall, the class was fairly easy. The first quiz was bad, but if you know what to study from the practice quizzes and tests, you'll be fine. Also, office hours are lowkey goated, highly recommend going to them.
Honestly a really great lecturer, made all of the information really clear. Didn't have to study super hard to get an A, and allows 1 cheat sheet per test. She drops on quiz, but she did mention not allowing any technology in her class next sem, so I'd keep that in mind. Would def take again!
This class was awesome! You get one cheat sheet per exam and she gives you the opportunity to guess the questions in a review session the class before. That said, people still struggle with the material, but as long as you do the homework on your own and make a good cheat sheet you should be fine. They offer so much help (two TAs!) too if needed.
She made class way harder than it needed to be. Tests were hard, attendance isn't mandatory but you are graded on iclicker.
She's very engaging with the lectures and definitely a smart lady, but sometimes she struggles explaining things in layman's terms. Tests are hard, not an easy A
take taylor. she literally will tell you line for line what is on the exam and how to prepare. 4010 can be a challenging course, but she's the best option and if you pay attention there's no reason why you shoudlnt get an A. tests are basically your whole grade though
Dr. Taylor is an amazing lecturer she is able to convey tough concepts efficiently and effectively. I wish I could take her again. The content of the course is difficult, but she really wants everyone to succeed so she does not make it harder than it has to be.
She can be annoying
Solid prof. She wants you to understand and although you need to make the effort, she gives the full roadmap to success in this course. Not too much homework. You won't get a lot of individual grace, but she's gracious to the collective and really kind about it.
Professor Taylor made this class way more difficult then is needed to be. I studied HARD for every exam and the best I got on one was an 80. She also gives zero extra credit and homework is graded on accuracy. She is a great lecturer and explains concepts well, but her tests are still really hard. If you can take another micro teacher, do so.
Morgan was a great teacher! Her lectures were very engaging and she covered a lot of material for the tests and quizzes. There's also only 2-3 assignments per week. The quizzes were moderately easy but the tests were quite difficult. Also make sure to attend class because she does I-Clicker for attendance and participation!
Annoying but makes concepts very clear. Uses iclicker and does not grade homework for participation, which screwed me a little bit. Cheat sheets on tests but not quizzes (they are similar difficulties). Over-hated for sure but take someone else if possible.
Her class is extremely difficult as she makes the tests and quizzes nothing like the practice exams. Way better micro professors at UGA if possible do not take Taylor
She is a very good lecturer, but since her tests are impossible, it doesn't help much. If you study and put in the time, you will definitely earn a B or an A-. She is hilarious and nice, and office hours are clutch. It comes down to whether you are a good test taker or not, because that is how this class is.
took this class online over the summer and this class is just two quizzes a week and a final worth 50% of ur grade.there were no lectures/slides/material posted for us to learn the content.
Shes a good teacher and has interesting power points but she just makes her test so hard for no reason. I would get skoolers if you have to take her
Excellent lecturer. The tests definitely were hard, but not impossible like many are saying. I got an A on every exam just by keeping up with the homework and studying for a couple hours
She wants you to fail because her practice quizzes are nothing like her exams.
People say that she is a very hard professor, but all you really need to do is go to classes and she uses iClicker for them and pay attention. Homework and quizzes are online and she gives 2 attempts for both so they are easy and she is very helpful if you have questions. Tests are not easy, however, she gives practice tests and they are similar.
Dr. Taylor is an excellent professor that truly cares about how her students do! Her exams are challenging, but if you pay attention to her lectures and do the homework assignments, you should be find! Attendance isn't mandatory, but you receive iClicker points in class for extra credit. I also got Skoolers and it really helped improve my grade!
She has such good intentions and is very kind, but I've never had this hard of a time in someones class in college. She makes her questions impossibly hard and expects you to know how to do them directly after learning the materials. No shows her "Office hours" half the time, seen sm ppl from my class lost in the MLC looking for her for an hr.
Professor is a great professor to have to ECON 4010. The tests are not hard, especially since she gives you a cheat sheet and goes over the contents before the exam in class. She makes the class super interactive and really cares about the quality of her lectures. You need to go to class to actually learn and the homeworks and practice tests help.
She is very enthusiastic in lectures, but you have to go to all her classes to get a good participation grade. Also her tests are extremely hard and the homework is very challenging as well. Huge time commitment.
Professor Taylor is a great economics professor. Her lectures were super interactive which made learning the material a lot less tedious. People say the tests are hard, but if you simply put in the effort by going to class and studying, they're pretty light. She allows cheat sheets on tests also. Definitely recommend
This class is way harder than other professors that teach this class. Her tests are annoyingly difficult. You can spend hours preparing for the tests and still get a bad grade. If you have the opportunity to take another professor do it and if they're not available then wait another semester and try and get the better professors.
She had really good lectures with and is always willing to explain concepts. She also has like 5 ta's, so there are office hours almost everyday you can go to.
First off, I'd like to say that Prof. Taylor is a nice person and outside of the class I like her. Now, her class was as if I took a trip to hell. I studied so much and talked to her many times about how I could understand it further but I could never grasp the concepts. Might as well take rocket science, cause that would be easier.
Dr. Taylor is a vivacious woman, but I believe she makes this class much more difficult than needs be, especially in contrast to other professors/courses. Attendance is mandatory, there is no extra credit or dropped quizzes (only 1 homework is dropped), or opportunities to do better on the exams. The way she lectures feels immature/juvenile.
Overall I feel like she made economics very easy. All you need is the PowerPoints and the practice quizzes and you'll be fine. Tests are very much like the practice. Textbook is like $80 and all you use it for is hw which is a little annoying. Show up to class, do the hw and practice exam, and it's an easy A that's engaging to learn.
She was super nice and funny, but the tests are pretty difficult. Attendance is not mandatory, but iClicker points are given for daily questions answered in class. 1 Homework assignment a week.
Take her if you can, great energy and person. Easy A if you just do the HWs, tests are similar.
She is such a fun, energetic teacher which makes her lectures engaging. The homework and readiness quizzes are very similar to the exams. You get a one sided cheat sheet on exams and as long as you study you will do fine.
Definitely go to class because she is really good at breaking down each concept into more digestible information and makes class a lot more fun than it should. Genuinely cares about her students grades and always makes sure theres help if you need it.
The quizzes definitely help prep for exams, make sure to stay on up to date on content and not fall behind or it makes cramming unnecessary hard.
Her notes in class are all vocab but her tests are all math based and very difficult. I had to get schoolers for a lot of them. Even went to the Tasting for help and they told me they didn't know how to help me. Definitely not taking again, especially when there are better professors with easier grading.
Great and interactive lectures, coming to class definitely helps. She uses iClicker, which normally wouldn't be a big deal, but a lot of days are worth waay more attendance points than other days, so be careful skipping. The homeworks are mostly helpful and there's plenty of exam prep, exams aren't very different from practice.
Anyone taking 2106 saying its hard is delusional. she is a great teacher who makes extremely boring content kinda fun. I laughed many times in that class. You get an entire page on notes for each test. practice tests are identical to the actual tests. genuinely a study the night before kind of class. Super nice and a sweet person. TAKE HER CLASS
Keeps class entertaining. She brings in confetti cannons and other fun stuff. Definitely pay attention during class and make sure to not fall behind.
Econ 2106 is a hard subject, but Dr. Taylor does a great job at explaining the concepts and providing easy to understand examples. I don't know if she makes her slides, but they are EXTREMELY organized and pretty. Everything is color coded to help you understand. Oh and she blasts confetti canons.
I actually really like how she lectures in class! Her exams can be challenging (if you don't pay attention in class/do your homework), but they're pretty much straight from her in-class worksheets/ the homework that she assigns.
I thought her lectures were really engaging and she taught the content really well. You definitely have to pay attention but she really made me enjoy coming to class.
Dr. Taylor was one of the sweetest professors I've taken so far! As long as you review the questions on the weekly assignments and do the review quiz you'll do well on her tests. She does do in class graded questions through iclicker but she'll essential add on 10% to your grade in that category so you are able to skip a few classes.
This class is ECON 2106 but with math/calculus for almost everything. Dr. Taylor makes it interesting and easy. She does test review where she goes over the topics that will be on the exam. You can make a formula/cheat sheet. Extremely energetic, very funny, and very caring. She's a bit of a dork as well but that's the econ department
Though attendance isn't mandatory, we use iclicker for credit so you should come to class for the points. Her lectures ar engaging and she uses practice problems to reinforce the topics. Contrary to popular belief, the tests were very easy and basically the same as the readiness quizzes. As long as you complete your work, your grade will be good.
Very passionate and well-spoken teacher. Ignore what most ppl say since it's kinda one of those subjects where you either get it or you don't. Best way to study that got me through every exam without recieving lower than a 97% was to make my own practice tests: Just ss old hw questions and paste in a doc. Less than 2 hrs spent studying for each.
Dr. Taylor is super passionate and great lecturer, Econ can be hard for some (like me), so its important to prepare well for her exams. If you do the homework and practice tests you should be fine. Lots of people slack off, making it seem harder than it is. If you go to lectures consistently and do the in class iclicker you will do well.
If you want to in the slightest bit keep your self esteem up then I suggest not taking this course. Not only do you have a homework and a readiness quiz on the week of the test, but in total they are like 60 or more questions and this is not even counting the prep you MUST do for the test if you want to get above a C in this class.
She doesn't care about students at all. She loves to see students fail.
SHe genuinley did not help students at all and would speak so meanly if you asked her a question. she angered me so badly
Dr. Taylor's lectures are completely parallel to the exams that you are going to take and she even lets you have a brainstorm session the class before an exam where she basically tells you everything on it. You're allowed one single-sided notes sheet for every exam, so that makes it pretty easy to do well. Try and you'll get an A.
Weekly homework, Iclicker for points and attendance, test questions directly from homework or worded similarly with different numbers. She was nice and had office hours if you had any questions.
I don't know why shes so low but she was an amazing lecturer. We get a cheat sheet per test and 4 cheat sheets for final exam. A lot of fluff assignments that she even advises you to use chat for the 2nd attempt. Homework's can be confusing but just ask. She is absolutely hilarious too it would motivate me to go. Tests were similar to the p exams.
Ignore the bad reviews, she is a great professor! She really cares about students and wants them to succeed. She is a very passionate and funny teacher making something boring like Econ actually engaging. It isn't an easy A, but if you put in work there is not a reason you shouldn't be successful. You will actually understand Econ at end of course.
Fine lectures but tests are just way too hard. Im genuinely convinced she makes these tests for you to fail.
I loved Dr. Taylor and thought she was a great prof! she made the content easy to understand and the lectures/notes were really similar to the tests. She also lets you brainstorm the test content the class before and have a cheat sheet which is super helpful. As long as you take the time to study and go to class youll be fine!
Dr. Taylor is a great, caring professor who explains material clearly and gives helpful homework, reflections, and two tries on assignments. However, her exams are very hard. I understood the content in class, but still struggled on tests. I still recommend her, but you really need to know the material well to do well on exam day. Shes a great prof
the exams are NOT like the readiness quizzes and homework's. she does absolutely no extra credit. you get a cheat sheet for each exam and 4 for the final. I would overall say her personality is great but the way she carries this course is not.
She's engaging and cares about her students. Homeworks are easy with 2 attempts. Readiness quizzes are easy, but the format sucks. Her lectures are incredible, so engaging and she explains econ well. I never found her tests difficult, very similar to readiness quizzes. You get 1 cheat sheet for the tests and 4 for the final. Highly recommend!
professor makes the tests hard for no reason. the readiness quizzes never line up with the quiz. their aren't any chances for extra credit and she makes a big deal abt it for no reason.
Does NOT prepare you for tests at all. Tests are significantly harder than what is done in class, homework and readiness quizzes. If you feel confident in class, don't. You are never as prepared as you think you are.
Important to go to class but attendance not mandatory. Take good notes!
Dr. Taylor is an amazing professor. She does IClicker, but I felt that it really helped students engage in the course material. The exams can be difficult, but she provides so many resources to students that are beneficial in getting a good grade. Taylor is so helpful with her office hours and class structure too. Great Econ professor!
Dr. Taylor has a bubbly personality and delivers her lectures with great enthusiasm. However, she has no sympathy for students who are not giving 110% effort. Tests are very difficult and source questions from the textbook readings and not from her lectures or practice exams. Attendance is taken daily.
Dr. Taylor is an amazing professor! While her lectures were a little fast-paced and long, they were manageable. Plus for each test we got a "cheat sheet" and had a brainstorming day where she basically told us the topics on each one. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you will be behind if you don't show up and she isn't very forgiving with grades.
Tough grader and the test are difficult. I was a point away from a B and wouldn't round it. She doesn't give extra credit or replace grades. If my final replaced other grades, I easily would've had a B+, but I had done bad on a previous exam. She's very nice and charismatic, but it is a difficult class.
Dr. Taylor is the best professor I've had so far as a freshman. She gives students every resource they may need. iClicker, HW, and readiness quizzes are great practices that force u to learn the material and are effective at doing so. Great lecturer. Very funny. Enjoyable class. Exams can be hard but she allows cheat sheets. 10/10.
Dr Taylor loves what she does... and that is aggressively evident in how she lectures. She is very hyper and tries to make economics somewhat fun. Attendance is mandatory through iClicker but if you want to make an A you should definitely go to class. She gives no extra credit and the class is super test heavy but if you study you should do well.
She sets you up for success. If you do the work, pay attention in class, and study you can do well. Tests are very similar to homework and readiness quizzes. Attendance isn't mandatory but iclicker is used for a part of your grade. She does make it to where you can miss some classes and still get a 100 for attendance.
I loved Dr. Taylor. She is very enthusiastic about econ so she engages the class pretty well. You get a cheat sheet on every test (3 on the final) and there's no textbook reading. Would 100% take again.
