Class is ver easy
easy and make sure you laugh at his jokes (he grades you higher if you do!)
nice guy, take him if u can
Very easy but terribly boring...takes attendance into consideration, nice guy...
very friendly.. yet boring
very sweet...not a difficult class at all!!...GO TO CLASS!!
Quality teacher. I thought he was funny.
WAY TOO EASY. WAY TOO NICE. WAY TOO MANY JOKES, NONE ARE FUNNY. TAKE HIM!
Very Easy. Attend every class and lasugh at his corny jokes
You can't fail, or even get a B. Pondfield knows his stuff, and he's very helpful. Hell, he's the f**king man!!!
Very Cool Professor. Recommend to all!

EASY,VERY EASY, THE EASIEST CLASS EVER
Very easy teacher to have. Nice guy, but make sure you go to class. Plan to take him for 337 also. Tests and projects are VERY easy to do.
Let me put it to you like this. Just go to class and you will get your A. very good teacher. made classroom discussions interesting at times. There is no possible way you should get below an A in this man's class unless you dont try.
Easy, sarcastic.Go to class. He's teaching MNGT 361 Fall 03 also. Definately check it out. Best part is he reads these postings! He'll deny he's easy from the get go...he's lying!
So incredibly easy, entertaining too, tells lots of jokes, without a doubt a must take for MNGT 337.
The most nicest teacher of all in towson... if you take him you are stupid~
easy class. The final was opinionated, got an A in the class.
Fun and interesting. Lots of class discussion. Lots of reading. 2 current event reports and one 10 page paper. Tests are all multiple choice.
He hates all the other professors, but he loves you. It really was easy, can't say i learned a thing!
ONE OF THE BEST TEACHERS I HAD IN TOWSON....TAKE HIM YOU WILL ENJOY HIS CLASS VERY MUCH
super easy class. took him twice got two A's. Tell him u went to thunderball business school and youll get an automatic A.
Um, Yeah.....Sooooo Thanks For Coming....We're Gonna Learn About Spam...yeahhhhhhh.....It Will Most Likely Be In Your Email
very easy if you come everyday and take notes. not to much work.
two three page article write ups, a ten page paper, a midterm and a final. overall not hard and he wont deny it. makes class fun and enjoyable, no attendance policy but you wont mind going. def take him and the class to fullfill that gened
Easiest class... EVER although I guess I did learn some things. Don't go for three weeks? It'S ok. You'll do fine. This guy has such a dry sense of humor... almost want to go out drinking with him just to see what he'd say.
This guy is great. His dry sense of humor and sarcasm make the class very enjoyable...even at 8 am! I definitely recommend taking him. He is a very intelligent and successful business man...by far one of my favorite teachers!! Oh yea...TERPS*
I had him for an 8:00 am class this semster and I was actually quite happy I got him! He never expects the class to be awake, unlike other Profs who will give you quizzes. He is a funny guy with a dry sense of humor. Go to lab and read the texts=A!
took pass fail, so easy, i probally spent like 4 hours out class for the entire semester on it. Never came to class neither. Damn Im cool
Doesn't care if you come to class, but you should. The two tests are hard, you definitely have to study ALOT because there's so much material on them, and I'm an A student. 10 pg paper has no guidelines, but he grades as if he gave them to you. Don't take this course for an easy A. Nice guy though
This guy is the man but you have to be interested in what he is teaching. His tests were pretty hard but you don't have to write down the notes. Just follow right along in the text and highlite. At the end of the semester he gives you an easy A group paper. Not an easy A class but a very interestin
nice guy, very friendly and intelligent- hard tests but everything is pretty easy- bad sense of humor but he thinks hes funny so he is always in a great mood at least!
Very funny guy. I laughed alot and he is interesting and tries to make the class easy as possible. Knows alot of stuff and isn't all that hard. Just read, copy power point and listen. Oh, and going to class helps too.
NICE GUY, LOVES THE TERPS AND RAVENS, ESPECIALLY RAY LEWIS. ENJOYABLE CLASS TO HAVE...
Nice guy, lots of information. gives a lot of real life examples. if you can bear the lectures you'll do fine
good teacher who love maryland terps...fight on tiger
cute lil old man. likes to have a chat now and then. easy powerpoints, just highlight in the book. most is common sense. tests are okay. presentation and papers are easy as cake. take him
Nice guy.A bit of a smartass, but entertaining. Labs are a **** to get up for @ 8am, but easy assignments. No homework, just 1 group project, midterm and final.Don't take notes, just highlight the book as he goes thru the powerpoint word for word from the book.Don't have to attend lecture, but is helpful.Make flashcards for tests and STUDY. Not bad.
Took this class in the summer expecting it to be easy. Got what I expected and more. Guy is hilarious, bad sense of humor kept me laughing all through class. Lots of videos, most of which were interesting. No need to buy book (although people were highlighting along), puts powerpoints online. Guy is sarcastic through the roof, funny stories
Very funny!
Very nice guy, kind of quarky, but nice. Easy class. Take him for an easy A
annoying and very full of himself, but the class was easy, even if the assignment isnt the best, you still get 100. took over winter break and never stayed longer than an hour
Probably easier than any other COSC teachers, but has a dry sense of humor. The only thing that really irritates me is that he always makes comments to belittle students.Doesn't really give students credit for their work and it can be quite offensive.Just talks like we are nobodys who don't try or care.
SUPER EASY CLASS!!! take him for an easy A while you still learn a little about computers. Most of the information is highschool stuff but towards the end of the semester, it gets a little more interesting. No need to come to class or buy the book. Grade is based on labs and if you do them, you get full credit. easy easy easy!
Very nice. As long as you go to the labs and read the chapters needed for the test, you'll get an A. EASY
Easiest A ever. Only had to buy the lab book, other he puts on blackboard for 2 tests. Just show to class and labs. Project simple. Dry humor, but alwyas willing to help. He reads these so Hey Morris.
Easy class..grades are based on a midterm, final, and essays..no attendance required..good teacher
This prof gave my group a D for our final presentation and wouldn't tell us why. As a result, I got a B+ in what was just about the easiest class on the planet. He enjoys telling embarassing stories of past students, so don't do anything to upset him or you'll become one of his stories. Also very sarcastic and cynical.
pretty easy class. labs are SUPER easy, and required. so don't miss them! just a midterm, final, and group paper/presentation. midterm and final are multiple choice. read over the chapters and look at the chapter powerpoints. pondfield is an interesting guy, which helps. all in all, a good class.
its an easy class. read the text book even if you dont want to some questions might be on your midterm and final exam. labs are a piece of cake. oh yea and by the way he will tell you what other students have wrote about him on this site. and if you dont show up in class and near the end you do he'll make fun of you for actually showing up for once
Good teacher. Would try to take again. Kept attention during class, and is a very fair grader. As long as you do the articles you will do good. Thank you for stopping by.
Awesome teacher for 111. Definitely take him. I don't remember if we even had a text book, but definitely had a lab book (Office 2003 Manual). Only have to study from powerpoint slides, no surprises.
Labs are mandatory and easy. Group paper and presentaion, midterm and final. Powerpoint slides online, so if you dont buy the book you'll be fine.
seems like its going to be a good semester and i know hes reading this.
Up there among the funniest teachers I've had. Very knowledgeable. Lectures are hilarious because he always talks to the sparse crowd about how no one attends....labs are easy...tests are easy if you attend lecture.
Class had a 56% average on the final. way harder than the midterm. went from A to B. was unexpected. studied slides and question at the end of the book too.
tests are easy if you read through the book. labs are easy if you know anything about computers. talks more about interesting facts than the material in lecture, but its worth going because he goes easier on classes where more people show up.
Most classes are easy if you follow directions. This one was no exception. I would suggest going to class every time because he made it interesting and funny anyways...recommended and am taking again next semester for 321.
I'm taking the COSC 321 winter session class. I have to say that he did make the class interesting by showing some videos and leading some decent class discussions. Article assignments were straight forward. It went by real fast but the exams were not too bad as long as you took the time to read all of the articles.
Took this as an 8AM and it was worth it. If you have ever used Microsoft it is an easy A. One group paper and presentation on anything that relates to technology, another easy A. Very entertaining and tells pretty funny stories. Dont really have to go to lectures but you may want to in case he cancels class the next week. Only midterm and final.
Good teacher. Make sure to follow all REQUIREMENTS for both the paper and power point...Final and midterm are challenging I'd recommend reading the book a lot and preparing early. Very funny sense of humor!
Full of himself.Feeds off his grade giving power. Not a fair grader
I took this professor for the minimester 2009 and he's an awesome teacher. The class isn't even over yet and I hope he'll continue to teach at Towson. Have to admit the lectures are boring, but little knowledge in Microsoft, Excel and Powerpoint and you're good to go.
I took this class in a mini mester. I bought the book but used it very seldomly because he put the slides from his lecture up on blackboard and the test were straight from them. Just remmember the slides and you should do fine. There were 2 articles, 2 papers and 2 presentations I got 100% on all of them. Pretty interesting and funny deff take him!
sucks, sounds like the boss from office space
Really annoying and rude...made fun of our majors in the beginning of class. It's an easy C- but that's about it...He IS Kinda funny, BUT when it comes down to it, hes kinda a ****...but whatever- take him if u need the credits or the gened, but be prepared to do NOTHING
If you watch the tv show "House", you will find him pretty damn funny. Didn't really read the book and it cost me, but def. make sure you do the labs. Easy to get along with, and doesn't make the class impossible, since it's already pretty boring (which, he knows, and says so himself!)
This class is piece of cake. He is an awesome prof. Test are easy if you study from the book. Dont rely on ppt. Labs are straight forward. Group presentation/group paper are simple. If you follow his guidelines then you could get atleast an b
He's hysterical, totally made the class worth it, id totally do him just for his sense of humor! Plus i know he's reading this.... :)
He's really funny and is always in a good mood. I had no interest in this class at first but he made it more interesting. The powerpoints are boring but his added humor makes the class enjoyable. He's not a tough grader and the class isn't difficult at all. I definately recommend taking this class with him.
It's a boring class with easy labs. Only attendance on lab days is needed. He's a funny guy with no real lesson plan. He doesn't follow the ppoints which is a good thing. He says "ummmm" a lot. Easy B hard A. the tests are difucult. I didn't buy the book
Its kind of a boring class but he makes some funny jokes to make it more entertaining, very easy if you attend on lab days and read the textbook and slides before the tests. Also there is one group paper and presentation to do.
This dude is awesome. Totally down to Earth, and will tell you to stick it! Love this class, only for the Prof.
This is a really cool and blunt professor, however, it's a boring class. His labs are very easy but his tests are kind of difficult. Just pay attention to his powerpoint presentations & scheme through the textbook beforehand. Over all, it's a boring class that only requires 1 group paper, a group presentation, 2 library sessions & 2 big tests.
This dude is groovy; he lets you do whatever. He doesn't care if you come to lecture or not. The tests are hard, but just study out of the text book and you'll be alright. He's also really down to Earth, totally available and will chat with you about anything. He loves the Terps! YEAH!
Don't have to come to lectures, makes bad jokes (laugh anyways), and gave everyone an 100% on the group paper cause the terps won that weekend. that about sums him up. Cool guy, I wish i could take him for another class.
Among all the nice comments here, I disagree. Although the class itself is easy, this professors pompous attitude and sense of humor is extremely irritating. Having him at 8am was horrid, with his annoying jokes that no one laughed at. He doesn't require you to come to lectures, but if you don't study from the book you will fail the tests.
Overall this guy is really cool. He is a really easy grader however his tests are pretty ridiculous. I know your going to read this post professor haha so im trying to be clean. Only thing i would say is i wish you could just give me a 100 on my mid term and final. then you would be the s***
Solid teacher. Everyone on here complains about his "weak jokes" but they are probably upset because they are not very intelligent. The guy is hysterical, his assignments are easy, and his class is actually fun. As a graduating senior this is an ideal class. Take this class if you have an IQ over 80....
So I thought beased on the reviews this would be a good class to take. Boy was that a mistake. You need to read all of the dozens of boring articles because the tests are MC but have very specfic questions on each article. 2 tests. 6 separate papers fairly easy papers that = 21 misreable total pages
Overall, the class was pretty interesting. I really hate computer classes but he made it pretty fun w/ all the discussions. 3 case studies, 3 articles & presentations, and 2 exams. The exams messed my grade up a lot, wasn't expecting that. STUDY THE ARTICLES, not just the powerpoints. He was pretty nice, very helpful & funny. I'd take him again.
Easiest class I have taken so far! You dont have to show up to his lectures, just the labs. His labs are ridiculously easy, too. You do have a few papers, but if you do them how he wants he gives you a 100%
Easy class. Def take it if it's for a gen ed. One group paper and presentation and very easy labs which he is willing to help if you need it. Mid term and final involves lots of vocabulary. The days he lectures he doesn't take attendance either.
I 100% on every, single paper but only got a B- in the class because I didn't do well on the two exams. He's a really interesting professor - you NEED to study a LOT for the mid-term and the final though. They will make you or break you in a big way.
If you need an easy A, take this guy. He's strait forward and as long you aren't a caveman when it comes to computers, this class will be a laid back easy going class. He has a dry sarcastic sense of humor and if you laugh at his jokes, you'll probably get a better grade.
Fairly easy class. No need to come to the lectures but must come for the labs, that is most of your grade. Getting an A shouldn't be too hard. Midterm and Final are okay as long as you study. Very helpful as well.
He's easy going. Summer Class (5 Weeks)Paper takes some time, but easy grader. Mid Term and Final questions are all on the powerpoints.
Great teacher, super nice and interesting. Engaging made class I thought was going to be lame interesting and informational.
great teacher, he's straight forward, helpful and funny.you just need to read the articles and submit all the papers. exams are multiple choice. Easy going style. take him
I hated this teacher, he was so arrogant. His labs are SO easy and his midterm and final were for a 300 level class. I studied SO much and got a 78 on my midterm and I'm waiting to see my final. Only used textbook for the two tests, labs are mandatory, lecture isn't. Overall, I would not take this class with him if I could choose again.
I took this class over some other options. What a mistake. I've spent over 12 hours completing homework assignments each week only to get half credit multiple times. This class doesn't have tests, but boy does he take that out on the students. His grading criteria is pretty much non existent, unfair, and his comments are generic for everyone.
Professor Pondfield is a self-entitled jerk. The whole class he just talks about how great he is. Test are especially hard, need to read all articles assigned to just get an average grade on the test. Assignments are easy but done weekly, I swear he doesn't even read the papers you turn in.
Not a fan of this guy. Everything he says seems so generic. His lectures seem to have almost nothing to do with the content of the powerpoint he's going through and the assignments are vague and poorly worded, and his grading criteria are unclear. The best thing I can say is that the tests are easy and basically boil down to common sense.
Lectures are not related to power points and for content I found myself studying slides before tests. He is more likely to talk about himself and his experiences then about the content. Papers are regularly assigned about generic topics open to any response along as it is related. Gives the same feedback for every paper "Good grasp of concepts".
There are only the midterm and the final. He is very boring with dry humor. He reads off the powerpoints which are posted online so as long as you read the powerpoints you don't necessarily have to go to class. He isn't that helpful because he always responds sarcastically so I avoided speaking to him unless really needed to. Class wasn't difficult
He's a great professor. Do what he asks and you get a 100. Labs are easy. His tests are kind of hard but as long as you read the slides and study you will be fine.
Just awful. Morris Ponderfeild, never again.
Gives long lectures, but tells some sassy jokes. He definitely got some laughs out of me. Lots of his lectures don't necessarily feel like class, he tells stories about himself, but it's useful stuff if you pay attention. The tests are easy, he just wants you to pass. Laugh at his jokes & participate a bit, it pays off.
Go to class, ignore what he says, read the book(!!!) and you're set for the midterm and final. After his class I'm a pro at filling out templates I've never seen before in my life and writing essay long responses to his discussion questions. Midterm, Final, one group project. He's a nice guy. The class just wasn't what I expected at all.
I vividly remember this class being an 8am one, but I enjoyed every moment of it. Pondfield does have a dry sense of humor, but he does speak sincerely to his students if you approach him after class, or if he feels like you're an introverted sort. I loved the assignments and since my class was so small (until final exams), I felt welcome.
Ignore what he says, come to class! complete the assignments as he says (each point) or you will get zero for the assignment. Weird grading criteria. Gives same remarks to everyone. midterm, final and a group project. Work well on these and will be easy B
This class was incredibly easy. However, the lectures were incredibly boring. I stopped going to class after the midterm and ended up getting an A no problem. Weekly discussion boards, group project, Midterm, and final.
He is a very good professor. He gives a lot of discussion board prompts but if you do then you will get full credit. You have a final project, paper, and exam towards the end of the year. His lectures are very boring and he has a dry sense of humor but is a great man and it's still worth going to his class even if you don't have to. Easy A
Weekly assignments that require a lot of writing and filling out templates. Make sure you write a couple paragraphs for discussion questions otherwise you'll loose points. Group project is long but not very difficult. Nice guy but assignments are really annoying.
Prof. Pondfield is a great and acknowledgeable professor. The attendant is not required, but there is A LOT OF homework every week. The mid-term and final exams require a pen or pencil because it is writing exams (10 essay questions). There is a group project that requires least 12 pages of writing, which is WORTH doing it after all.
Nice guy with a lot of experience in the industry and as a professor. You could probably pass this class without ever going to a lecture. Lot of homework but he's an easy grader so it's time consuming but not difficult. Second time i've taken one of his classes, would recommend.
Not really sure what he gets out of teaching with how little engagement occurs during lectures and how the course was just a recitation of a pre-done department outline. If you don't read a lot of news or engage with a lot of the subject matter of the class, then the book is mandatory- probably. Just incredibly milquetoast experience at best.
I agree with other reviews. Nice person, but lecturing and instructing wise - pretty bland. Lot of reading for this course and lengthy writing assignments each week. Mostly straight forward stuff but mundane....
If you can, avoid this professor at all cost. Horrible, horrible. During lectures, he drifts off and talks about stuff that doesn't really deal with anything related to the class. His instructions for the HW assignment is so vague. I felt like I wasted my money taking his class.
He goes on so many off tangents and does not really explain what we are supposed to do for the homework assignments. I dropped the course because it was either my health and well being or an F
Weekly homework takes HOURS to finish, he goes off on tangents that aren't really relevant, his lectures are pointless... The textbook, time, and a LOT of patience are all you really need to pass. Try to avoid him if you can
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROFESSOR TO NO ONE! HIS LECTURES ARE NOT LECTURE!!! HE GOES OFF TOPIC EVERY TIME. HIS HOMEWORK ARE EXTREMELY HEAVY! HARD GRADE, FOR HOMEWORK YOU WILL NEED TO WRITE PAPERS ON TOP OF PAPERS. ONCE AGAIN I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU TO TAKE THIS PROFESSOR !!!! BEWARE!!!!!!! IF YOU DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH TAKE THIS CLASS. GOODLUCK
Easy A. There is a group project that needs some work, but its a made up project so its easy. Discussion boards are just busy work and easy points. He talks a lot and makes corny jokes all class. Not even half the class shows up half the time. USE your resources for tests since there are online. Quizlet is your friend. Met once a week on Tuesdays.
Very easy to get a good grade in this class. Weekly discussion boards (350 word post, 75 word replies). Sometimes a 3-4 pg paper in lieu of a discussion board. Easy grader though, just do the work and you'll get an A. He talks a lot about himself, cracks a lot of jokes. I barely attended class, lectures were very boring.
Went off topic a lot during classes
Ok so I said that I would take him again and I would just not for major classes. this class is basically an easy A just make sure that you do well on the exams He really nice and funny but I always left his class feeling like I didn't learn anything, and the group project wasn't too bad. Just take him for core requirement only.
Don't waste your time taking this class, I've learned nothing since the beginning of the semester. He talks about random shi the entire class so I barely showed up to the lectures. He's literally useless I might as well teach myself with the powerpoints. WAY too many discussion boards due every week. Don't even get me started on the group project.
easy but tons of busy work
Listen to the other people who said to not take this class. I should have dropped it when i had the chance. I was not prepared for the workload, he's also a tough grader and the assignments take long to do. Majority of the class failed the final paper and his feedback seemed like he wasn't going through the paper. avoid this professor at all costs
He is way too harsh of a grader on midterms and final exams. Exams are short response and he is not clear with the expected response length. He says answer until you feel enough details are included. This leaves you guessing if you response is appropiate. Failed midterm so i studied rigorously for finals and failed that too. Needs to be more clear
Ton of homework at the start of the semester, but not much in the second half. His lectures deal with applying the content in the real world with lots of anecdotes. Reading the book is necessary to learn the specific stuff that's on exams. He explains the assignments during lecture, if you're not there you'll have no idea what's going on.
He was relatively chill in class and the majority if work done was in a group, but his attitude when I was asking questions about a grade/assignment he had a snarky tone/attitude that I didn't like at all.
Honestly Chill and Nice Dude. You will pass , you just can't be lazy and have to stay on top of your assignments. Also, make sure you choose wisely when picking for groups. I could've had a A but the lack of effort from my group members caused me to have bad grades on the assignment. Gives very clear and descriptive emails.
Class meets once a week, a LOT of discussion posts. Midterm and finals are online essay questions, and the group project is a group project. Try to find good members. Attendance isn't mandatory. If you need to take him, I would recommend. he's pretty lenient with due dates too, so don't worry if you submit the discussions a bit late.
He is a chill professor who wants you to pass his class. There is a lot of discussion post and a few papers for group projects. However, he will help you pass if you reach out to him. Overall a great professor.
Previous reviews of this professor made him seem like a nice, great professor. He's not. Extremely rude, very strict grader, and answers emails by repeating the same wording instead of trying to answer it normally. Not sure what changed with him. Never would recommend him. Would yap the entire lecture until the very end.
Prof. Pondfield is kind and caring but a pro yapper. His ability to derail, rant, and ramble should be studied. He often goes off on tangents during lectures, which can stray from the course material. His lectures feel more like chats. But with focused questions and active engagement, you can still benefit from his expertise. Lots of assignments!
He is misunderstood. He just wants the assignments to be completed properly and not half attempt. If you do the work the way he asks then you are going to get a good grade. If you attend the classes he tells you how to do the assignments and get an A - SO ATTEND! The topic requires it to be done right in the real world so he grades like real world.
Class meets once a week, he doesn't really teach the material. Brags about not needing to read from the class slides, but goes onto talk about things that are very vaguely related to actual class information. Lots of discussion questions. Midterm and final exam are short essay questions on the material he doesn't teach, graded very harshly.
The professor is pretty chill, but the class has a lot of discussion posts and group projects. Doing well requires staying on top of the work and finding good group members. unstuckstudy helped me prep for the midterm and final essays.
Class was relatively easy; I personally used chat for most of it. But he makes us do group projects which I don't really understand because it's an online class??? It was just extremely frustrating that my grade semi-depended on other people that I can't see in real life and weren't doing their parts half the time.
I honestly have no clue what we were supposed to learn as he would "teach" material meaning the slide shows would be put up on the screen and then he would talk about things such as how much he hates iPhones. I would probably switch institutions before taking another class from this professor. I have so much more to say beyond these 250 characters
I couldn't even explain to you what the subject of this class was. Instead of teaching it, this professor seems content to yap about his life story for an hour. When I mentioned him to my advisor, she went "no comment." The syllabus is also from 2021 and nowhere did it say I actually had to be there in class, so after a while I just wasn't.
