Lander is a cool guy but is very ANAL about having a mathematically perfect distribution of grades, making getting an A hard af. The class was 2 midterms and a final, all open book but graded pretty tough. This class used to be a bird course but if he keeps teaching it, it definitely won't be.

Lander is a great lecturer who can captivate a class. I'm taking a course next term just because he is the prof, and can teach economics with humour. The only thing to keep in mind is that we only get graded on two midterms and a final, so if you're taking 205 then go to class to get more than just a grade that doesn't count towards an econ credit.

Lectures and reading the textbook are a waste of time. You learn about nothing but concepts but get tested on math. The only way to do well in ths course is to anticipate the kinds of math questions he will ask, and then find resources online or from other textbooks to practice. If you like profs who are lazy, do not care about his students, and has an ego the size of Russia, then Lander is the perfect fit for you! This course is 100% self-taught as Lander is as distant to his student as he possibly can. This course is simply a Pearson class; Lander is just the intermediate who send the students e-mails once a month.

This is not an economics class period. While the book deals with economics (in interesting, easy-to-engage-with way might I add), this professor's exams have little to nothing to do with the study of economics. Don't fall for the two untruths perpetuated by this prof: A) that he's an "economist" and B) that he's hilarious.

The class in general was enjoyable and not crazy hard. The lectures are definitely complimentary to the textbook readings so make sure to study the text carefully. Awful. The marking scheme forces you to buy Mylab. He's just lazy, he could easily administer the weekly quizes through mycourses. The only things worse than Lander's ego are the dogmatic and outdated opinions that he tries to pass off as economics.
