Great teacher and teaching style. He is not so serious and brings humor to class. He wants all students to do well. He uses Lecture Notes way more than the text. If you talk with him and show him any mistakes he might have made, he will correct it. I reccommend this teacher to anyone. He gives many good examples etc.
Mr. Sargizi was a wonderful and inspiring teacher. That is the only class that had a real effeect on me because of his possitve teaching style. I would live to take one of his classes again. He uses lots of lecture notes and does not assign too much homework. This class was great!
Great teacher attendance is mandatory for extra credit quizzes and normal quizzes. He is a cool grader and a nice guy. I would recommend his class to anyone. I got a 4.0
He is an excellent teacher! He makes you learn every important things of your health. His exam is hard, so you really need to study, But after that, you really get a lot things from this class...
Hard grading and his tests are very hard......... He is a nice guy but grading is very tough. many people drop the class at the end of the quarter because they now that is impossible to get a good grade.
Those who gave Mr. Sargizi a poor rating must not want to challenge themselves, work hard, study and learn the material. He was an amazing teacher! He inspired me and was 100% available to help. I still go to him for help with other classes. He expects excellence. Oh, by the way, its not impossible to get a 4.0.
diligent and passionate teacher but does not know how to teach at all. you have to do the work all by yourself. to conclude- good teacher for his attitude, but really doesn't know how to teach. don't take him.
Movakel is committed to helping everyone learn the complicated material of anatomy and physiology. He expects a lot and this is good. By the end of the quarter you really learned something. Dedicated and very knowledgeable. I would recommend his classes for serious students.
Judging from the same grammatical errors and style, the four bad ratings below are from the same disgruntled student. My experiences and those of the classmates I know have been outstanding in Sargizi's classes. He's an exceptional teacher, and cares that his students learn. You can do well (get a 4.0) if you put in a little effort!
Great teacher hard class. There is an excess of material to be covered in this class. Sargizi presents the material and provides impressive lecture notes for your use. You have to put in the time and it will pay off. Its a hard class but I left feeling like I really learned the material.
OMG, there are a big liers here, to say the truth, I had to drop my English 102, and only take his class, to get a B. I don't write this because I am upset with him, just want to let know students my experience. The amount of homework is stupid. If some students got 4.0 is because they don't have anyhting to do!!! I have to work.
Okay, these reviews aren't kidding. Last week I started his Anatomy & Physiology summer quarter class, and I am swamped with material that I can't make sense of. No wonder everyone drops this class. He talks so fast, and CHEM 121 did not prepare me for this. I wish I brushed up on cellular biology before this quarter started.
We were 25 students, but now, we are only 11. I think he will have tomorrow only 10 students because I am dropping the class too. Sad I really don't like in the way that he grades.
I honestly have nothing but GOOD things to say about Movakel. If you are lazy and want an easy A go for someone else, but if you want to actually learn and retain information take him. He is by far one of the BEST profs I have ever had. Its NOT easy but if u do the work and are willing to learn, then he is by far the best choice!!I give him 110%!!
While the course material is already complex and requires time, this professor sets up his class to help the student truly understnad the material. I loved him and feel like what i gained from his class will make me a super great nurse as I KNOW the material inside and out! I would definitly take any biology class from him. YOU LEARN from him!
Very difficult class! You have to read literally everything! I studied more for this class than any other class in my life and still ended up with a B. You definitely do learn though.
I'll say this is a hard class. I'm also taking two other classes including organic chemistry. I have a 96% in ochem, but an 84% in A&P. I study A&P every night after work and don't have time to study much for my other classes, yet I'm still getting a 4.0 in the others. Movakel is a great teacher, but if you're lazy he's not for you.
I've never struggled so bad in a class, but I've also never learned as much as I have from Movakel. If you want an easy 3.5 then go to a University where they curve their grades. It's too bad that pharmacy schools only see GPA and not what you learned (besides pcat but you only do excellent on that if you don't work or have other classes)
He sets his expectations high at the beginning and tells you EXACTLY what you need to do (All handouts for the entire quarter were available day one) to do well. Plan on 10+ hours outside of class a week if you want a 4.0, but you'll learn a lot for your time. No trick questions on exams, but they did require reasoning and not just memorization.
One of the best teachers I've ever had. Clear and engaging lectures, high expectations, fair, caring, available outside of class for help. Straightforward about what to expect on his tough but fair exams. Great work ethic--tests often graded and posted the same day as given. Not an easy class or teacher, but he makes that clear from day one.
Before to take a class with him ask around the college, everybody will drop his class at the middle of the quarter... I hope I don't see you never ever in my life.
I've taught anatomy and physiology in the evenings and have worked with Professor Sargizi. He's an amiable, knowledgable, and easy-going instructor. I've observed his classes and think he's first class.
To say the truth, many people say that he is good teacher and he is, but his exams are very hard, and grades are based in exams, so if you need extra credit to go to 142 YOU WON'T GET IT because he won't give you extra credit. I am saying the truth... but if you are someone that like to get stress out studying go ahead take it with him...
These negative comments are surprising to me. Movakel is an EXCELLENT, thorough teacher who cares that you learn anatomy, not that you get a good grade you don't deserve. Yes, a lot of work is required in his classes, but if you study correctly, you will really learn anatomy. He is very reasonable as an instructor. I got a 4.0.
To all of the whiners out here A&P is NOT supposed to be an easy class nor is it supposed to be expected that you won't work. Competition is fierce in the medical field nowadays and this is definitely a weeder course. His expectations are CRYSTAL CLEAR and the challenge he puts forth should be accepted. Do what you need to do and you will pass.
There is tons of work, but the concepts are not extremely challenging, and he is very clear about his expectations of you as a student. Make sure you have time to study an average of a few hours every day, and you will be fine. I have learned a lot in his class, and he is a very clear, wonderful teacher. Not an easy A, but also not impossible.
Not for the faint of heart, but I have no regrets taking his class. I learned A TON! There is no room for slacking in his class, so take somebody else if you aren't really interested in working hard. You can do well if you put the effort in. I got a 3.5. His lectures are awesome, and his expectations are clear. I am taking his class again for 242.
I love Movakel. I thought he was an excellent teacher. Very clear about what he expects from his students. You will have to study and work hard, but if you pay attention and go to class you will learn a lot. I wish all my professors were this good.
Had him for 241 and did well. I wish I could say the same for 242! The concepts are more complicated in 242, so be prepared. Take him if you have no other commitments outside of this one class. This means no job and no children...seriously! I left with a 3.1, a fine grade for anything BUT nursing school. Great prof, but this is a VERY hard class.
Amazing teacher. I learned so so much and he really instills a passion for A&P in you. HOWEVER, if you want to get into Nursing school which pretty much requires a 4.0, think before taking his class. You will learn more than with another professor I think, but only do it if you have the time. Its demanding and your grade is based on exams.
A demanding teacher who expects and gives a lot. Great lecturer, helpful office hours. But an extremely time consuming class, if you want to make the grade and learn the material. Sargizi is remarkable in that he truly cares about helping students learn - an inspiration to his students. Retook the class with him and went from a 2.1 to a 3.8. :)
He will make you work. You will learn a lot. Very fair.
I loved Movakel's classes for 241/242! Very clear, posts all material upfront, returns tests next day. I worked hard and, even with 3 jobs, got a 4.0 both quarters. Lectures were best for me if I did the LO in advance and could ask questions. Notes from class were VERY useful and tests were easy for me with plenty of studying. I learned so much!
Movakel is a very crystal clear professor. You cannot afford to miss his lectures, he will let you know what are important along his lectures. As long as you attend 100% during his lectures, the exams will be easy. He is great, straight forward and I learn a lot and get a 4.0 from his class. I will take his 242 but he is not teaching 242 in the fal
Very helpful and informative. If you do the work and show up to class, it's very possible to get an "A."
Textbook (Human A&P - Marieb) is bad but mostly used for reference. Movakel proveides Learning Objective sheets at beginning that describe almost everything you are responsible for learning. Good Q&A in didactic sections. Beware, very tough, expect 25 hrs+ per week.
I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED him for A&P. This is a class with a lots of material, but as long as you attend his lectures and understand his lecture, it is an easy A. He is very specific on what is his expectation on the exams, so as long as you study for it, it will be an easy class oerall.
A very challenging professor who actually cares about students learning. Overall one of the best professors I've ever had.
Straightforward, tough, fair, and a really, really great guy.
entertaining class, you will learn and retain a ton. Wonderful human being, I have total respect. Do learning objectives, read text before class, study groups very helpful, spelling on lab practical important. Go to every class, study hard and you will do fine. Highly recommend.
I probably wouldn't recommend him if you are taking Bio 241 for the first time. His tests are best described as difficult and tricky. I study for 4-5 hours each day and still feel like I am not prepared for each test. If you need a high grade for your program seek another teacher.
He is tough but fair, all expectations are laid out on the very first day of class. This will be an extremely difficult and time consuming class no matter who is teaching. The difference between Movakel and other A&P teachers is that he is EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGABLE of the subject matter and is willing to help you learn if you put in the time yourself.
Movakel is a great dude...but he is not a good teacher. He assumes people know details about anatomy & physiology that MOST people just don't. Which is, frankly, not a healthy approach to teaching. A few people know random bits more than others...but they merely possess the knowledge whereas other people don't. You either know it or you don't.
So glad I took 242 with this professor. He's not the most interesting man in the world, but he grades relatively easy. If you need a high grade in your program I would consider taking this class. I got a 4.0.
Charismatic lecturer.Emphasizes critical thinking.Would go from 'good' to 'great' instructor if he developed some supplemental activities to enhance student learning. One must be very self-taught/independent study/individual learner to succeed. Great teachers don't just tell you the info, they help you interpret it and guide you to conclusions, too.
Movakel is a great instructor, he is also very funny. He really knows his stuff--and he wants to make sure you know it, too. Expect to put in at least 3 hours of study for each hour of class, and you'll likely do well. I have a hard time paying attention during lecture, but he kept my attention the whole time.
He is very helpful and very clear on what he wants you to study for the test. Anatomy is not an easy class, just stay with what's on the lectures, Learning Objectives, 8-10 hours/week of study time and you will be in good shape. Take his class and you will definitely learn a lot.
The students with prior medical experience had an advantage. Fast paced tons of material. Students were dropping other classes just to be able to get by. Movakel expects you to take on his class like it's either second nature or a full time job. It just couldn't work with my life, though I was very interested and engaged with his class.
Any anatomy class is going to be difficult but Movakel's approach is to understand to process, not memorize. He is very knowledgable and really cares that his students are "getting it." Whatever level of effort and enthusiasm you put in will be matched by him.
Very interesting class I recommend this teacher.
Content of this class is incredibly challenging and he is sure to emphasize this day one of the course. Be prepared to study for 3-4 hours every day in order to be ready for exams. Print out his lecture notes. Don't expect him to hold your hand through the class, step up and you will do well. I didn't accept that immediately and ended up with a 3.7
He's really nice, seriously one of the nicest teachers ever. There weren't a lot of confusing materials, but you have to know A LOT in such a short period of time and that's what make this class so freaking hard. His teaching style is not my favorite and sometimes he would has questions on the exam s that weren't on the LOs or lectures.
Movakel is a great teacher, and will really challenge you to work hard and understand the material. He's got a great sense of humor, and is always willing to go the distance to ensure you know the material. You'll have to work harder than other A&P classes, but it pays off more. You get what you put into it.
I just finished nursing school and Movakel's class helped me the entire way through. It will kick your butt and it's totally worth it. Put in the time, study, and really understand the material; it really does matter.
It was a good class. ALOT to learn and very fast. Exams will take you through the ringer. My biggest mistake was not doing the LO's before the lecture (i.e 10 days before they were even due) and trying to work. This class is a job. Forget you ever had a life. Lectures can be really boring, but he's a nice guy that makes jokes. Wants you to succeed
He's great. You have to put in a lot of work and be dedicated, but the material is interesting. If you are expecting an easy A, this isn't the teacher for you. He expects you to work hard, but his grading is straight-forward. I really liked this class a lot. Get the basics down ASAP, you can't skate by in this class, and he won't hold your hand.
Movakel has a way of teaching you in such a unique and relatable way that it makes other professors look like they don't know how to do their job. He will expect a lot out of you, but is also fair. Respect his class and his time and he will do the same for you. Very welcoming with questions. The best professor I have ever had.
He is a Great instructor, and ready to study all his LOs and lectures. He is a fast grader, and responded to your emails and questions fast. I'm a ESL student, and still got A in this class, everyone can do it.
You can tell that Movakel actually cares about his students. He is very clear right from the start that if you don't have/make time for this class, you will not do well. Tests are very straight forward but also challenging. Lots of memorizing and studying required. Be prepared to get called on to answer questions during lecture (COME PREPARED).
Even after 6 years of higher education, Sargizi's A&PI and A&PII classes were some of the hardest I've ever taken. They require an incredible amount of dedication but it's completely worth it. The subject is fascinating and the preperation it gives you is invaluable. Take his class!
Prof Sargizi is an incredibly intelligent professor. He conveys the mass of inflation clearly, concisely and knowledgeably (word?). He's there to help, but don't expect top be spoon fed. He's quite possibly the best professor I've ever had. The course is full, and fast. You need to be prepared and keep up. All the tools are there, and given. Great
Tons of useless homework and exams. You spend half of your classes time sitting there reading or memorizing by yourself.
Great class. He knows the subject and knows what students need to take away from it. Hard work but the work pays off.
Movakel expects you to understand the material, not just memorize it. He is a fair grader and while the class is challenging it is possible to get a 4.0 if you do the work (even if you don't have a science background). I would recommend taking this on campus if possible, if not watch the video lectures and study the LO's and you will do well.
Mr. Sargizi is a hardcore guy and a hardcore instructor. Take his class if you want to be encouraged to know your stuff. This IS NOT an easy class, but it is a good class. If you want an A in this class you have to take in very seriously. Work, full time classes, or other obligations will be challenging with this class.
This teacher is great but he is a tough grader. His exams are not meant to me it easy on you either.
A&P is one of the most difficult classes I've taken and he won't hold your hand, but if you put in the time and work it will pay off. He offers online video lectures. He offers extra credit. Homework can be time consuming but every single question is material covered on the exams. He gives you all the materials and resources to succeed. Great guy!
A&P is very hard and fast paced with lots of material being covered. He is great at lecturing on exactly what you need to know and provides video lectures online. Grades are based on learning objectives, labs, case studies, exams, and practicals. If you answer all the LO's and come/watch lecture you will do great on exams! Must put in the work!
Explains complex subjects in a way that is engaging and easy to understand. Very clear about whats needed for exams. Tough subject but he presents it in a way that is manageable. Homework is straightforward and directly relates to tests. No busy work. He also graded most assignments right away so you dont spend days agonizing over results.
Movakel is a nice guy but not a good teacher. He rarely explains concepts deeply. In lectures he will draw convoluted pictures of the whole without breaking things down into smaller components. His presentation makes the material more difficult than it needs to be. Buyer beware. Many people fail his class and he will not help if you ask for it.
Easily the class I loved the most so far at North Seattle. He makes you work for your grade no doubt, but if you put in the work - you will learn a ton. He is always approachable, very funny and in general a great guy to interact with. Strongly recommend his class.
Movakel is great at breaking down hard concepts. He expects a lot from his students, but gives you a very clear path to success. His learning objectives and study guides are very thorough and he is very helpful. I cannot recommend this professor enough.
This professor is great, he is hilarious and does a great job of summarizing the material you need to know for exams. He records class lectures which as long as you take notes on will get you ready for 80% of an exam. His lectures simplify material that feel complex in a textbook which helps a ton. He gives weekly quizzes back to help w/ exams too!

Movakel was a great teacher, he explained things well and drew out the systems that you need to understand. You need to read the textbook, pay attention and show up to class, but if you do all these things you will get a good grade. He wants you to succeed and will he invested in you if you participate in class discussions and get your works done.
I really enjoyed having him as a professor. The course is really difficult, there's no denying that, but he did an excellent job breaking down the material and it's very clear what he expects you to know. Plus he has a great, dry sense of humor and I really liked his accent, very pleasant. Grades assignments easily, they're more participation.
Anatomy is a no joke class that a lot of time management is needed. I took this class last quarter and the practical exams on physiolab are extremely difficult as well as the lectures that he provides are not helpful what so ever!!! The assignments are worth 5 points for a lot of work and your grade basically depends on his exams.
The lectures were good, but the quality of the video was not so good. It was the video that he gave a lecture in class the other day , which is not considered for online students, at all. Anatomy test is performed online but it is very difficult to deal with. And also his announcements was not kind so you should always stay in touch online.
Wonderful professor, taking care of students, makes you think. AP is not an easy subject, but he explains everything in an accessible language. Has a good sense of humor.
Movakel is extraordinary. He is really smart and cares deeply about his students' success. If you put in the work, he's there to support you every step of the way. These classes will teach a lot about self-discipline and pushing boundaries to excel at deep understanding of difficult material. Put in the work; you'll have plenty to be proud of.
Professor Movakel is an amazing teacher who truly cares about his students. His lessons are clear and engaging, and he takes the time to ensure everyone understands the material. He is approachable and gives thoughtful feedback that helps you improve. The way he treat all of his students with fairness, respect, and consideration is amazing.

Good professor, his lectures are not long compared to usual science classes. He scares you on the first day, but understanding for tests; he does a 1-on-1 check in with you after lecture exams to make sure you're doing alright. For practicals, all I have to advise is to go to Open Lab and work with tutors— got 100s that way.
Great professor and very dry, sarcastic funny type of guy. Checks in with students after exam and is very approachable. One important note, the class is very traditionally structured. Only 4 exams, 2 practicals and an optional final. He is particular on spelling, but also fair. His class is difficult, but I would still take one of his classes again
