Easy A but it requires going to the daycare for 20 hrs
No Comments
She is too confusing. Don't take unless you have to.
Has no idea what she is talking about
Not very clear on assignments.. very disorganized
Awful class, she had no idea what she is talking about!
Sweet lady Easy High B or A, requires time outside class for observation
have to wonder if she ever went to school
Generous grader. 4 projects, 0 tests. Didn't learn a lot, but she was nice.
horrible! not a clue about anything
a lil weird, lots of observation hours outside of class, not too bad tho
She used my grade as an example when one of my friend's asked about her grade!
doesn't know what she's talking about. worthless teacher. don't take her
EASY A- class is a no brainer. Just follow the formats she gives you.
Very easy! No tests, just do exactly what she asks.
Strange, strange lady! Talks to you like you're 3, so it's fairly easy, but she wastes time, lets you out late and is annoying as hell.
A nice lady but kind strange. a lot of work and obsercation hours outside of class. the info in class is very pointless
Easy class, do exactly what each assignment wants and you'll do fine. Be sure to talk in class she'll like you better.
Totally a waste of time... No useful information at all is given. If you are serious about childcare and want to learn more... DON'T take her. 4 big projects with little to no explanation. Avoid taking if can.
easy A, very pointless, alot of work though, 20 hours of observation and 5 projects, no tests though
Hello Friends!!! This class is worthless and a complete waste of my time. She has know idea what she is doing. I dreaded going to this class every week. Save yourself while you sill can.
Such an easy class four projects that you have plently of time to do. You don't learn much in class, but everything is extremly straight foward. Follow green sheets exactly for projects and it is impossible to get less then a B in this class.
the class is boring, but many clasess are not lectures. 20 observation hours are awful. No tests but tough grader, helpful when u have a problem with your grade.
She is very anal about work done in class. She will take off if you paperclip and dont staple, and she is not toatly clear about what she wants till after she returns the assighnments. SHe also repeates alot of informationa nd the classs is boring.
Better make copies of whatever you give her because she lost my (and someone elses in the class as well) finial project and then tries to blam it on me! she sucks the only good thing is not test.
She is anal about how you hand things in, follow the green sheets exactly. The way she grades class participation is ridiculous. class is boring and the 20 hrs of observation are awful! Try to take someone else.
Very nice woman & passionate about diversity. She's a bit on the clueless side and speaks VERY slowly. Class is easy- no tests or quizes- just participate in class discussions. Class has very little structure. Most of the time is spent on reviewing the sylubus or playing "diversity activities".
Dr. Kirmani is a very hard grader...she doesnt explain things very well at all. IF you dont follow the green papers step by step she takes off a lot of points. Dr. Kirmani is a very unfair grader and she is a boring teacher, i would not recommend her unless it is required that you take her class.
This class was very easy, though I was stupid and forgot to turn in a few things for the last project but still got a B in the class. If you need any help, she is willing to put some time aside for you. Dr. Kirmani is a bit on the flaky side, but overall an easy class.
Veyr hard teacher to understand. Unclear in her directions. Boring lectures. Very easy class, although it is extremely boring.
Very, very boring, but the class isn't that hard. She's really flighty about what she wants turned in, but it's pretty easy to talk her into letting you redo things.
very anal...only taught for the first 2 weeks then we did absolutly nothing in class...waste of my time...the reasons she gives you for the grade you recieved is ridiculous...horrible teacher
Class was very boring.. she is very nice but not the best professor in the world.
no tests :) 5 projects that arent too hard. Class is cometimes boring, but its not hard
she is very nice but not that good of a teacher. she only lectures for the first week and then you do projects. 20 hours of observations and a ten page case study when other classes did less :( the class itself is very boring bring something else to do after the first week.
she's very easy, but you will not learn anything out of this class. if you want to get easy grade and do noting much in the class, take this class. she talks a lot and you just go to class do nothing. she's not organized and looses your paper alot...
her class is very boring, you really dont learning anything but your grade is made up of 4 projects you do which are not hard and 4 quizzes. Going to class was a waste but it is very easy
Not the best education class I've taken at TU. She is a very nice lady but thet ledctures are SUPER boring and she tells the most random stories ever! Didn't learn anything. No tests or quizzes just TONS of journals and reading and projects and they are all due at the SAME TIME - wouldn't recommend unless you have to take the course
She is a sweet women but doesn't really teach. Going to class was mostly a waste of time. The work isn't that bad. Your whole grade is based on 4 projects, 4 quizzes, and attendence. Overall, I didn't mind the work for the class, just boring when your sitting in class.
no test or quizzes. lost of reading. 2 very in depth journal entries per chapter. (18 chapeters). 3 papers, 2 short, 1 long. 1 project. all arent hard but really need to go in depth bc she can be a picky grader. just writr alot and dig deep. she loves that. attendance is mandatory. u usually get out early. bring other hw to do in class. boring!
an A in her class is a 95. the toal point equals 100 so to get an A you can only ge 5 pts off total. that is hard to do. so be careful. do extra credit when she gives it. it is easy and soo worth it. not a hard class. she'll let u redo stuff if u ask her. just work hard on papers and ur fine.
easy course but she pretty much stops teaching halfway through the semester and then you're just stuck with 4 projects that she grades pretty tough. for instance you get points off if you dont staple the rubric to your paper. enough said.
Class itself was easy, however the assignments were sometimes difficult. Points seemed to be taken off for no reason, but you can challenge it. The final paper is long and requires 10 hours of outside observation. Most assingments are done in groups. Usually get out early. "Pop" quizzes are given after readings but are actually announced.
The class itself was easy, basically the only work you have is 4 assignments (papers and projects) and observation hours. She is pretty weird, and not exactly clear in what she's talking about. So it's an easy class, but i don't feel like i learned anything.
I had her for a three hour class and she never kept us the whole time. I found her to be irritating because she never really taught us anything new and the projects were boring.
She is okay. I haven't really learned anything in her class the whole time I have been there. The projects themselves are reasonable, albeit tedious.
She is the worst teacher EVER! She doesn't teach and you wont learn anything. You have 4 quizzes on things she doesn't teach and projects. We only used the book once in the beginning and she stopped teaching after the second week. This class was a huge waste of time!
I would not recommend this class unless it was required. She didn't really teach on the topic at all--mainly told random stories and then let us leave early. There are only a few assignments, but she is a VERY tough grader. Listening to the lecture did not seem necessary or to teach much.
She is very nice but has a awful style of grading. She is very subjective. Example: you have to do 5 minor papers in the class (not hard at all) but the rubric she gives you says "5-8 points if clear" "9-10 points if very clear". She doesn't really give specific criteria for what she wants so you think you did it well and end up getting a B
She doesnt even know what shes teaching. I took the same class in another school but it did not transfer. she doesnt understand what you ask and doesnt really read stuff when she grades it.
Do not take Kirmani. The class is pretty easy but there is a lot of really stupid, time consuming assignments. She reads directly from the powerpoints which normally I do not mind, but I literally cannot stand going to her class. Do not take her.
She is a really sweet lady but her class was kind of pointless. I would still recommend her cause its an easy credit. Shes really unclear about what she wants its hard to get full credit cause she takes points off for who knows what.
wouldnt recommend her or take another class with her. nice lady but not clear, is unsure of what she is teaching and the assignments are pretty meaningless.
She is very nice but terribly confusing. Her assignments are pointless and you never know what she wants from you. She will tell you to check the syllabus gives you absolutely no idea what she expects. Even the rubrics are vague. The class is easy and there are no tests but it's annoying how unorganized she is.
Though she's nice, she's super vague and you'll never know exactly what she expects of you. You'll have two texts to read and you'll have to write journal entries on each chapter for both. Lectures are disjointed and hard to follow, she gets off track easily, but not in the fun way. No tests though.
Such an easy teacher, very nice and able to work with you, No tests and she is very dedicated in what she does and is very good at it. I recommend taking this class
The class is project based, no tests, so her lectures are pointless (but meaningful). She was never organized, never knew when things were due, and was not clear about how assignments would be graded. There's a lot of reading and journaling but if you don't procrastinate that's easy. The class was easy, but she was terrible.
Your once in a lifetime kinda professor. She is awesome, she is there to help you succeed.
Professor Kirmani is very worldly. She is knowledgeable and gives lectures about her real life experiences relating to diversity. Her projects are not hard but they take a little bit of effort. She lets you choose your own participation grade on the last day of class, so you can give yourself an A. I would take her again.
She is the sweetest lady you'll meet, she's got a big heart and emphasizes a lot on respect and acceptance on differences. Although she has two main texts that are really hard to read, it's mostly just reflective. do not wait last minute to do them! They are long! presentations are mostly the heart of the class so it's not too hard, just long
Wow her class blew me away. Yes you have to read and be consistent with the two texts like any other class, but the activities and videos were such an eye opener. Her heart is so beautiful and she hopes t share her experiences with her students rather than making class just a grade. She wants to know her students and help expand their perspective
About 7 graded assignments throughout the semester, including a paper at the end. Dr. Kirmani is one of the kindest, sweetest people I've ever met. She's super soft-spoken and caring. She can sometimes be a little unclear on due dates, but it was never a big deal for me. If you need a Core 13 class or an elective, you should consider taking this.
she's just soooo boring! its an easy A but its not fun to be in there. and she's so unorganized.
It was an easy class but the whole class was out of 100 points and all assignments were only 10 or 20 points, so 2 points off is an automatic B. She is unclear will all assignments and NEVER used blackboard. Made us print and bring in paper rubrics for her to grade.. waste of paper and time. Worked hard and did every assignment to only get a B
This was the worst experience I have ever had with a professor. As the term progressed instructions on projects and assignments became less and less clear. No one in class knew what was going on, and we depended on each other for help. She graded the entire term out of 100 so one 7/10 on a project basically means you cannot get higher than a B.
I have never thought a professor could be so unorganized. Less than half way through the semester she started to ask us when things were due because she forgot, and every class was all over the place. Everyone in class counts on each other to understand what is going on and at this point nobody cares or wants to be there. Worst professor I've had.
Grading criteria is completely unclear. entire class out of 100 points, never explains assignments, doesn't understand some questions you ask.
Kirmani is respected within her department but shes one of the worst professors ive had. Shes really sweet and nice but clueless when it comes to teaching. She has no idea when assignments are due and she grades super hard for no reason. The whole class is out of 100 points so its almost impossible to get an A with how hard she grades. Avoid
Kirmani is a sweet lady and it's obvious that she cares about her students, but she is extremely unorganized and unclear about how she wants things done. She doesn't update Blackboard until the end of the semester. There aren't any tests or quizzes, but there is a 4 page single spaced paper due at the end of the semester. I wouldn't take her again.
She is a very nice lady and very caring. Although she is nice, she is not a good teacher. After a week or so she stopped responding on the e-mail she put on her syllabus. Also I texted her once because she didn't look at her e-mails and she didn't respond to my text. Her rubrics are not clear and the final paper was confusing to do.
Easy. Take her. There's 7 big assignments that make up your grade, the lectures in class are pointless because you're not tested on the material. You don't get a 100 for just completing an assignment, has to be good. For the interactive textbook I just spent a day guessing until I got a 100 and didn't have any homework for the rest of the semester.
She is the worst professor I have ever had. She is so difficult and clearly does not care about her students. She is very scatterbrained and basically, the class would not run if the students did not let her know due dates or what chapter we are reading. She is mean and will publicly embarrass her students. She is not understanding and belittles.
One of the worst professors I have ever had. If you are sick or miss something she will belittle you in front of the entire class. She does not care about her students. On top of it all, I felt like it was a waste of time, I did not take anything away from the course.
Very nice lady and has great stories to tell. She is not as unorganized as everyone is saying, just as long as you stay organized and turn things in on time you should be fine. Showing up to class is important she takes off for missing. But overall not too bad.
Though she appears to be sweet, this professor has no shame humiliating her students. She also spends the first 30 minutes of class trying to figure out what chapter we are on and if anything is due soon. If you have accommodations do not expect to be accommodated.
Dr. Kirmani has her good days and bad days. Sometimes she is very genuine and caring and other days very moody and condescending. You can tell when she begins to get frustrated when she threatens your attendance with class participation, even though her lectures can be confusing. She never knows what is due when and has poor criteria for grading.
Professor Kirmani was nice and caring. Many people say they love her. The lectures were boring , the class should be more discussion based. You are graded on your participation but never really get a chance to participate. Kinda disorganized and does not want to give a 100% for anything. If you skip class she will drop a letter grade.
The class is super boring. You really don't even need to pay attention to get a good grade in the class. Your grade is based on easy papers and projects. She is not the easiest to get directions on assignments from. You kinda need to rely on your classmates to understand what the assignments are asking.
This class is an easy A. Professor K is nice but very obviously judges her students based on their responses in class. Not much work but there is a case study every week that you do with a partner. You need the book and the book questions are online via McGrawHill. Not a bad class to take for a core, but I would not take it again.
She gives very vague directions on assignments. Class is mandatory she takes attendance. The projects are easy but she is a tough grader for how easy the project is with vague instructions. Does not clearly explain class assignment or projects.
You dont have to pay attention to lecture to pass. No quizzes or tests. Case study with partner every week and easy. Easy Projects frequently and reading assignments but A LOT of time to do them. Very vague in what she wants but hands out good grades regardless. As long as you put some though and reason into your work youll pass. Easy A take it.
Quite possibly The Worst professor I've encountered in my time at Towson. She is purposely subjective and unclear with her grading criteria so she can assign grades based on how she feels about you personally, and on not the work you've submitted. She is unwilling to work with students who actually care. Relies on breakout rooms every class. Avoid.
Prof. Kirmani goes out of her way to make things harder than they need to be. Not only is attendance mandatory, but that is still not good enough. She will expect you to put a lot of effort into participating to mark you present. The work is easy, however she does not believe in giving 100%'s. I consistently received 9/10 for exceptional work.
Very sweet and caring professor but you dont need the lectures to pass the class. (although attendance is required) There are 4 easy projects and a 10 page paper at the end of the course. Connect questions for each chapter as well. Case studies every week BE DETAILED because she is not very specific on what she wants and will take off points!
