He is hard to understand so if you want to understand the chapters I would advise you to teach yourself by reading each chapter of the book
Dr. Malik, takes time to make sure you understand what he is saying and goes over any material you have questions on. He really goes over problems for the rest so you will be prepared. Sometimes the pace of the class is fast, but you can stop him if you need clarification. Overall good teacher in making sure you understand if you have questions.
I took Dr. MAlik for Organic Chemistry 301 and 302 as you may know that those two classes are very tough. Dr. Malik is a great professor he helped me through the class. For 301 I got an A in the class and i am currently taking 302 now.
He's a really nice teacher ! He always offers a lot of help. He listens to your problems and he will try to work with you as much as he can.
I am currently taking him for organic chemistry 302 and he is a great professor. He works hard to ensure you know the material and he will work with you outside of class to make sure you have a clear understanding.
Dr. Malik really took time to go over the material during each lecture. He really welcomed questions if you did not understand things he was going over. Dr. Malik also took time to review before each test so there was no surprise on the material being covered. If you work hard, ask questions and attend reviews sessions you should do well
Dr. Malik was a great teacher. He really cared about his students and their success in the class. This was showed through his multiple study-sessions, office hours help and he is very quick with responding to emails if you need to email him because of confusion. My rate for 301 is the same rate for 302. I recommend taking Malik for both!
He is always ready when you are. He answers questions no matter how many times you ask. He makes the class wonderful. He is quite fast but once you tell him to slow down, he definitely would. he covers every single thing he is required and sometimes go extra miles just to make you get it.
he is a great lecturer!! To be honest he is quite fast but if you tell him to slow down he would but he is awesome
He is really good at explaining whole concepts and he is more than willing to answer questions and help during his office hours.
Professor Muhammad Malik is a commendable professor, he is able and willing to help when needed you just have to ask.
Hes a overall good teacher
One thing about Dr. Malik that you have to be aware of is that he has a very heavy accent. Unless you read the assignment before the lab, youre going to be lost during the lab when he explains everything so pay attention. You should go to him for a thorough explanation of the lab reports because he is a tough grader. But hes good regardless.
Dr. Malik is a great professor. Im currently taking him for Organic Chemistry 301 lecture and lab. Although he talks fast and has an accent, if you really listen and pay attention then you can understand him. He teaches from powerpoint slides which are detailed and very beneficial. Overall he's a great teacher and would take him again.
The work load in this class is heavy, be prepared to be doing two full lab reports a week. He is a tough grader so make sure you follow the rubrics to a T. Overall, it wasn't bad and I actually learned a lot.
Really good professor but grades a little difficult
He rambles a bit about the lab but it was okay. He goes over whats going to be on the quiz before the lab in the recitation so its best to be on time. He's not a ridiculous grader, I've gotten an 86 or higher on all my lab reports. I would take his lab 10 more times, kind of hard to understand, but he won't mess over your grade.
Great professor. You can definitely get an A in the class in you want to.
Often the professor would speak too quickly which made it more difficult to understand him in addition to his heavy accent.
great professor.
Very thick accent
awesome professor, a little hard to understand.
Good teacher. Very understanding
He is a great professor that wants you to pass his class. He will tell you what is wrong with your lab reports, and while he goes fast, he will go back over anything you don't understand.
grades quickly, overall good teacher
He is very helpful with the material. Must pay close attention to instructions to be successful in completing the course.
He is very helpful with explaining if you misunderstand during office hours. Paying close attention to what is instructed will guarantee a good grade in this course.
Professor Malik works very hard to make sure that students understand what they are learning. He is always available in his office and always willing to help. I would recommend going to his office hours because he will provide you with deeper insight. Professor Malik definitely goes above and beyond and he is a very understanding professor.
Great teacher I took him 3 semesters in a row I recommend him, especially for lab! He has a thick accent BUT he's a great teacher. You can ask 100 questions and hell answer them all he'll go out of his way to make sure you understand if YOU ASK. He's always available and will stay late or extra IF YOU ASK he's very fair and underrated due to accent
Teaches well and cares about his student, assists really well in class and during office hours
Took him for lab. Accent is strong, but you will catch on. You will have a quiz just about every week and he tells you what will be on it, so prepare before class and you will be fine.
I really didn't care for the class.
Dr. Malik is a great professor, although you may have to set aside time to personally study material because you may not understand it immediately. Nevertheless, hes an amazing professor.
He has an accent, but will happily clarify anything you do not understand. He is also accessible outside of class and truly wants you to succeed. A bit of studying is necessary for his class, but his is far from the hardest class I have ever taken.
He is an awesome teacher, like most people said before his accent is heavy but he is very open to clarifying what he has said. He is accessible out of class and can be extremely helpful. Unlike most teachers he actually cares and goes out of his way for students... you can tell he wants you to succeed.
During recitation, he makes sure you understand what he is reviewing. He briefly skims through the lab before we start. His grading criteria is easy to go along. I was confused with the new lab report format, but after I got my first report and went to him for help the next lab reports were an easy A.
Lecture intensive but a clear grader. One of the best Chem 201/202 lab professors.
Dr. Malik is a great teacher. Very fair to students, always there when you need help. And when he grades it favors you, as he wants the students to get as much points as possible.
Hes a great guy very nice gives a lot of chances to improve your grade would take him again
The Class Was essential for The Lecture.
He is a very kind man. I definitely recommend studying outside of just class. YouTube videos are basically what got me through. He helps you where you need it; go to his office hours when you have questions and don't be afraid to ask questions in class! He won't forget that.
He is a really great professor
He is an amazing teacher. He actually does everything he can to make sure you learn the material. He reviews the chapters at least twice before a test, and he even has Saturday sessions if you need extra help. I Highly recommend him.
This Chemistry class was a great experience. Dr. Malik is a great teacher and helps you understand the concepts of the assignment. I would recommend for students to take his class.
Amazing professor! Dr. Malik has a very strong accent but is always accessible & willing to help the student understand. He truly cares about his students passing. Be motivated, show him that you're motivated and you'll do great! The only downside is that he gives quizzes almost every week, but if you do well, they can really help boost your grade.
Dr. Malik is the best chemistry teacher! Initially, his accent is difficult to understand. However, if you pay close attention and read before coming to class you will get used to it. He is always willing to help and explains in such detail that it is almost impossible to not understand. He is very patient and approachable.
Always available during office hours , very good when needed extra help explaining material. Fair grader . Do all work required and you will pass the course .
Goes above and beyond for students (I.e. out of class review sessions prior to exams)
Dr. Malik is a pretty decent teacher, hes always available outside the classroom for questions if the lectures are hard to understand.
His accent is very heavy but he does his best to make sure students understand the material but you do have to study hard and go over the material or else you wont get it. Also go to his office hours.
Good teacher, just needs to slow down sometimes too fast
Very lecture heavy yet very helpful
Do well on labs and you will be fine.
Dry understanding and caring, alittle accent but willing to repeat anything you dont understand. Ive took him twice! Take him!
This man was amazing, best general chem lab ever took him trice and it was so great. Easiest class ever taken
Best professor ever and very respected, flexible especially when I needed to change my final exam time because it conflicted with my work and eager to help and always available when needed and understandable, explains material well and has clear grading criteria. Cares about his students and want them to pass with knowledge, highly recommended.
Good teacher, tries his best to help. Only problem is his accent but if you review the material, its easier to understand what hes talking about
He is a great lecture and lab teacher for Chemistry 202. Best Chem teacher I have had so far!
Dr. Malik is a great professor that cares about his students. He is always in his office and gives bonus points to quizzes. The book isn't mandatory but it does help, as well as attendance is not mandatory. I would definitely take him again even though chemistry isn't my strong suit.
Dr. Malik is a nice professor who just so happens to be teaching a tough subject. He goes out of his way to teach students in different ways. He uses a projector, molecules, pogils, comes in early on test days for reviews and grades quickly with good feedback. Heavy accent, slightly tough grader, lots of lab assignments and follows the syllabus!
He always told me to keep up the good work and continue to improve and it motivated me. I recommend reading the chapter in the book he plans to go over in class prior to coming to class. This method of grasping the concept and his teaching style and ability to convey the material in an understanding way helped me secure a B. Study & ask questions!!
Great professor
A teacher that does care about grade, he can be a little difficult to understand but he tries to make sure you understand the course material. He can be very reasonable when it comes to tests and assignments.
Class isnt a credit but us 30% of chem grade. Professor rushes you at times but hes a fair grader and as long as you turn in some decent work you will pass
Sometimes he speaks fast, but if you ask him to repeat it till you understand it he will. Held review sessions before most tests.
He is a great professor. Gets a little boring sometimes because every class is a lecture of the book. Besides that, he has study sessions before every test. Read the book, make notes, do the homework for practice, and go to class and you will pass with an A.
This class is all lectures, which is sometimes hard to understand, so make sure you attend review sessions to clarify information. Malik gives a lot of opportunities to raise your grade. Even though its a tough class, the textbook will help a lot with understanding concepts. Malik is a good teacher and works with you to help get you a better grade
He has a strong accent but is a great teacher.
I have had him for chem 202 lecture and organic chem lab. Both of them I got an A in. He is a generous grader and is always there to help.
Dr. Malik truly tries to do the best he can for his students. He tries to find extra points wherever he can in order to help their grades. His accent is heavy so it's sometimes difficult to understand him, but he's very helpful in office hours.
Professor Malik was amazing! Definitely the best chemistry teacher Ive ever had. My favorite part about him is that he genuinely cares (unlike a lot of college professors) about your success. He literally ends every email with wishing you success and he means it. He offers lots of extra credit and also curves tests based off difficulty.
Good teacher. Tried his best to make sure all students had a good understanding of material
Great professor overall. Very understanding when you ask for clarification on topics. As long as you do well on the homework it is very helpful for preparing for the tests.
Actually cares about students and wants you to do well.
Dr, Malik understood his students and moved deadlines to better accommodate his students. He wants student participation, so he will ask students if they have any questions, comments, or concerns during lectures. Although he has an accent, it is still easy to understand him and he makes an effort to help students. If you show interest, he does too.
Professor Malik is very understanding. He'll make sure that you will be successful in his class. Attendance is Required. I would definitely recommend getting the book and rewatching the lecture recordings.
I didn't have any issues with him. He teaches clearly and he cares about your grade so he's open to help out a little when needed. You really just have to put in effort
He will do everything he can to help you! He is very patient, caring, and kind. The class is very hard due to the subject material but he will do everything he can to make it as easy as possible.
Dr. Malik made sure he taught us the essence of each chapter and gave us practice quizzes for a better understanding of the material that was learned in the textbook and his lectures. I really enjoyed his lectures.
Very helpful when it come to understanding lab material.
The majority of quiz answers are found in JOVE or in the first 15 minutes of class when he goes on a tangent so be sure to listen. Other than that the labs are fun and straightforward.
Great teacher I feel he is one of the best teachers here, and is very understanding when communicated too!
He has a accent, But I can understand what he refers to. Overall, Good Teacher.
Professor Malik is a well-respected teacher in my opinion. Although at a point the lectures get boring because he literally tells you everything. Otherwise, this class is very good.
Accent is the only problem
Lenient grader in my opinion & understanding
I really enjoyed him as a professor, He was very helpful and carding and he tried his best to make sure everyone u understand and he just overall was a great person.
I took the summer course so it was only 4 weeks. But Dr. Malik makes sure you understand the concepts he teaches. I appreciate his kindness and caring towards the students. It was heavy lecture given the time we had and he talks fast, but he will slow down if you ask him too. Excellent professor in my opinion.
Dr. Malik is a great teacher. Organic chemistry was a challenging course but he is patient with students and makes sure everyone understands the material before moving forward. He willfully helps students who try and is accessible in and outside of class. Great teacher over all.
Although it was hard to understand at times, the method of teaching was very efficient and helped a lot of students like myself out.
Great professor, is very open and flexible in make up exams and homework.
He truly cares about the success of his students and whether or not we understand the material presented to us. Dr. Malik provided a multitude of resources for us to prepare for tests and the final exam. I highly recommend him to be your organic chemistry teacher.
He is a good teacher. Just do the HW and ask questions if you need help.
He is a good teacher. Just ask questions and watch the videos/read the book.
Study and use office hours
Dr. Malik is very kind and wants the best for all of his students. Organic Chemistry is not easy but he was very helpful and provided lots of extra help and extra credit.
He had a very strong accent but very lenient
gave so much extra credit and works with his students if there are any time conflicts. take his lab too it's really slow in the beginning but he sets it up nice so that you finish half way through the semester, and lets you retake all lab quizzes
