Def one of the best at CSI.Loves what he does & teaches well,makes lab interesting & gives fair tests.He's really funny & super smart,more than anything he REALLY cares about his students & wants every1 to succeed.RESPECT him,he doesnt appreciate disrespectful or disruptive students,very interactive and helps w questions aboutlecture.

very nice professor. he cares about everybody. whoever wrote bad about him, i imagine was lazy to study and didnt get a good grade.he has accent, but if you read the material before class,you will understand what he talks about. besides he repeats many times the topic so after class you just need to rewise a little bit. easy A!

If your one of the heath sciences major and you really want to understand concepts so you have strong basis in bio, take this guy. Yes he has an accent and I would rather have a prof with accent where I learn the basics well than someone without accent but i end up not learning anything. His exams are not hard. Teaches extremely well & effectively, (accent is a problem for the 1st class or two) Dr. Zia excerpts genuine level of care & commitment for his students, their education & success. Very helpful and will sacrifice his personal time just to help each and every student. Don't be late/absent, study is a must and you will pass his class and the departmental final!

great professor and actually helps if you want to go into the medical field.. however you mustttt study or you will not pass...his class is never boring and hes veryy interactive with students....dont take him if your not willing to get out of your seat once in a while

The best professor at CSI.

Seemed like a nice professor all semester but when push came to shove and he needed to act like a human being, he acted like everything but that. Made mean and rude comments all semester long to students twice his age and treated everyone less than respectful. Very rude if you answered incorrectly and mocked you. I would never take him again.

Dr. Zia is a great professor. He is very helpful and wants everyone to succeed. He interacts a lot with his students so you WILL be called on. Everything he goes over in class is what is on his quizzes. He even prepares slides and prints them out for you to keep. One of the best science professors would deff take him again.

He is intimidating at first because he sort of shouts for you to repeat & he does teach alot of material & fast paced BUT because he forces you to repeat what he is teaching you, you will remember. You must study,this is not a simple course.If you listen in class and read his handouts, the quizes are easy.He is very willing to help.

This professor is the best ! Also full of effervescent! U never get bored. He knows his stuff. Passionate about students passing the course in general even though he teaches the lab aspect. Just stick to his powerpoint and u will do just fine.

EXCELLENT FOR LAB. for lecture he was a little slow...no curves for the most part but you really learn from his class. he demands participation. can be rude then kind-of "nice". lecture exams are a little tough. reading &understanding material is necessary! he's slow at writing letters of rec. be on time for class. he is willing to help

had him for lab,hes the best ! very helpful in preparing u for the final and if u have any questions for lecture. i got a 97 total in his lab. id definetly reccomend him!

Had him for Bio150 Lab and Bio160 Lec. Puts 200% into his class! Great professor! Tests are fair if not easy. His pacing is not always good (spent 9 weeks on 3 chapters and 6 weeks on 6). But Highly recommend.

I took him on summer. Study his PowerPoint. 50% lab + 50% final = lab final grade. He will drop 2 lowest quizzes. His quizzes and final are fair.

Prof Zia is one of the best professors at CSI. I told him for Bio160 Lab. Very knowledgeable. He will go over material 100 times so that it sticks in your head. His quizzes are straight forward and easy IF YOU STUDY! His accent is heavy in the beginning but eventually you get used to it after taking a few classes. He cares alot about his students.

I took him for Bio 160 Lab. He jams the information into your brain. His lectures were better than my lecture professor's! His quizzes are so easy, if you study the powerpoints. He also gives great advice with future courses and degrees.

I took his class for bio160 lab! He is an incredible teacher he makes you understand all of the material and will keep repeating until everyone understands it! He teaches until the end of class, gives quizzes every week (he dropped the 2 lowest). You have to be attentive in this class cause participation matters,he will point and ask you a question

Hes GREAT! wish he was my lecture professor. Very nice and the quizzes are right from the powerpoints so spend a few days memorizing and you should do well. spelling counts which sucks, but theyre never long words. be on time, he hates when youre late. Final was so-so, but nothing we didn't cover. STUDY STUDY STUDY!

Alright let me tell how enthusiastic this professor is. He makes it 100% easy. All you have to do is pay attention in class and try to read the lab manual before coming in to class to make it easier for you to understand. For those who gave him a bad review... A&P is probably not for you. Quiz every week but very easy just pay attention!!!

I'm currently take Pro. Zia now and he's amazing! He makes the class exciting with his enthusiasm and teaches you in full detail. Its also cool how he always incorporates real life medical examples that truly benefits anyone who plans to go in any medical field &keep in mind he deducts point for misspelling; so know the info. Study & you'll b fine

He is an amazing lecturer. He really cares about his students and is funny sometimes, can rude also. Just pay attention and study for the quizzes. The quizzes are pretty easy but he marks you wrong if you misspell something. Lecture can be boring.

This man has motivated me every single time i stepped foot into class, he continues to push his students beyond their limits and wants to see them succeed. He disciplines you and turns you into a true adult. Hes hilarious, he can be moody just dont interrupt him, hes the best professor in CSI, and ive been taking him for 2 years now.

This was my second time taking Zia, as I took him for 106/107. If you are willing to put in the hard work, effort & dedication, youll be fine. Always read ahead, this helped me to get familiar with the lecture topics we were starting that particular week. He gave us 4 exams, plus the Dept. Personally hes the best professor Ive ever taken.

If you are taking a bio class, and have the option to have Prof. ZIA, TAKE HIM. He is hands down the best professor I've ever had in my life. He puts in a lot of work into teaching and does a lot of repetition to helps his students understand the material. You'd have to literally be sleeping during lecture in order to be lost. You MUST study though

Hes great! The language barrier is a little tricky in the beginning but once you get past that hes awesome. He loves teaching & relates everything to a clinical situation which is nice. He makes you learn. Very good professor, would take him again for sure

Had Professor Zia for 150 lecture and 160 lab! hoping to take him again for 350. Professor Zia will not only be the best anatomy professor you can take, but he tries his best to make sure the quizzes and exams are as simple as can be for newbies. Funniest man on the planet, and makes the class worthwhile, please take him!

Amazing professor! He keeps you focused all the time and makes heavy material easy to remember. I had a lot of fun that was one of the best courses I ever took. I was a bit concerned because of all those negative reviews. And I can confidently say that he is a very nice person he cares a lot about his students. Highly recommended!!! Take him!!!!

Professor Zia is a great professor who knows exactly how to teach! He is tough but he will make you understand the subject matter not just memorizing it. His lectures are very important for the weekly quizzes so it is important to pay attention carefully in class, his weekly quizzes are also based on the powerpoint so make sure to study that.

He definitely is a unique character. Dr. Zia loves yelling to emphasize his points and is clearly passionate about Biology. During the lectures, he reads his slides but goes in-depth. Our grade is based on exams only, but they have been very fair. His review sheets will help you tremendously. Never had a professor with such fair exams.

Dr. Zia is not like most teachers where they read off the slides and expect you to understand the content yourself. He ensures all his students are understanding the lectures and provides numerous examples to keep you engaged, so engaging it may even drive you to want to pursue bio. Take him if you want to learn, don't expect it to be 100% easy tho

I'm honestly confused on why Professor Zia has so many bad reviews. He is one of the smartest people I've ever met and the best teacher. He actually explains the material and makes sure that everyone understands. You have to study and work hard to do good but it is not impossible. He made me love and understand bio!

Prof Zia is ver knowledgeable, but you MUST work for your grade. Tests are hard, and lectures are fast paced. If there isn't time to cover a topic, you have to learn it yourself from the textbook. You will rely on the textbook a lot. If you take his class be prepared to be serious and study 24/7.

Professor Zia is a really smart guy who genuinely cares about his students. Honestly if you do bad in his class, its because of you because he helps each and every student and tells you what would be on the test. Bio 160 is hard, But he makes you genuinely want to learn the topic. If you want to be a nurse, doctor, or PA, take him, hes amazing!

Dr Zia is very on top of active learning and it actually helps. He advocates for no memorization and really wants to help you learn. He is a funny guy and I do miss the recall questions part. One thing I don't miss is the hitting the board/desk when he is very energized with his Dunkin coffee, but you will get used to his teaching style quickly.

Dr. Zia is a very equitable teacher. He gives lots of opportunities as well as review sheets so that you can get the best test score possible. He's super funny and values class participation a lot. Dr. Zia is such an amazing professor! He encourages everyone to participate even if you get an answer wrong he won't ridicule you. He will help you in class, office hours, emails (he sends A LOT of emails) and he tries to give his students a lot of chances to get good grades. There's a lot of work, but it pays off in the end.

I took him for bio 150 lecture/lab. He has a unique way of teaching-raises his voice randomly so we dont daze off lol. He says to use the textbook but his slides are sufficient, what he doesnt say in the slides I usually wouldn't bother memorizing from the textbook. His exam are fair you really just have to memorize the concepts/definitions.

BIO 107 Lab, Explains perfectly; he does a 10-question quiz (MC) every class in the first 10 min, so don't be late. Very easy; whatever he teaches, the exact stuff is on quizzes and finals; he posts the slides for every lesson. Don't miss any class so you don't miss the quizzes because it plays a big role in the final grade.

I was very shocked to see Dr Zia has such bad reviews on here. Pay attention to his lessons and you will do amazing in the bio205 lecture class. I learned more from him than I did from the actual lecture portion. Quizzes every class, easy + straightforward (if you pay attention). Best professor in that whole school. Wants to see you succeed

Great professor, lots of extra credit opportunities and he's very passionate and personable. The material isn't easy but he will do his best to help you, but you've also gotta help yourself and actually read the textbook for this class and study out of class.

Greatest profesor in all of CSI, most passionate and enthusiastic man I've ever met. Made me want to learn. Work is very straight foward. Quizes are quite often but all info can be found on his powerpoints.
