Talks during tests, its annoying! :D

I had this professor for two econ classes. He is very fair and is more than willing to help outside of class. His tests cover exactly what he tells you in class, no surprises. Very glad that I had him as a professor.
Hard class to take at 8 am. Pretty fair prof, tests are not overly easy, you must study... however he gives you sample questions and 5 quesitons that will actually be on the test beforehand.

Very easy class. I only went for the test reviews and the tests, and I made an A. Print powerpoints offline, and read chapters beforehand.
only had him for a couple days now, pretty good, a little hard to understand but nice enough, seems to car that his students learn the material. repeats stuff a lot, good for me, download lectures and read them before class starts
Nice enough, helpfull, NO HOMEWORK! will work will you if you have problems. Kinda hard to understand at times, but a great teacher, he is cool, he even throws out your lowest test grade!! he rocks but econ is kinda dull, bring energy drinks!!
No homework at all. Lectures are boring. He reads what is on WebCT so there is no point in going. Just study the slides on WebCT and you will do fine.
This guy is a very by the books guy. He follows the rules and follows WEBCT down to a T!!! He's teaching method is boring, and if you don't go to class and do study the slides on WEBCT, there is no reason you shouldn't make atleast a B.
Reads right off of the WebCT PowerPoint slides he gives you. Easy class: lots of videos, tests are right out of the book, no surprises. Gives out "bonus questions" before each test - very helpful!
didnt need the book, all notes online, didnt even have to go to class, just go to class for the review and he gives bonus q's for the tests
He is a great professor. He will explain the subject in different ways until you get the material. He is VERY approachable and knows what he is talking about. The tests are good and he definitely shows you the way. I recommend taking him if you do not really understand economics.
Interesting text and excellently taught. Straightforward and no surprises. Has a passion for the subject, and does not try to be 'clever' in creating exams to assess your retention of the material. Great demeanor, and very personable. Highly recommended!
Professor Doral is a great--hot professor. He is very supportive and really wants you to be successful. Just make sure you are nice to him, so he will be nice to you.
He is excellent. Very by the book, everything on the test is gone over in class (no need for the text). Show up everyday and review his WebCT notes, Power Points and sample Q's and you're golden. For test gives 5 sample test questions per chapter + 5 bonus Q's straight from the test. Easy B or A
easy A, four easy tests, drops lowest test grade, notes on WebCT
His accent was a little hard, but besides that a very easy class! His test were easy!

Ehh...he's not bad looking for his age.
All multiple choice. Easy B, a little more studying involved in getting an A.
Took three tests he allowed us repeat one of the three test we wanted count as final test. However during grading he messed up on some papers and the grades came out really low, considering we had repeated the tests. Final grades for the class were poor. He could not figure out there was a mistake somewhere.
No matter how hard I tried to study I always got a low grade. I really do think something was wrong with his grading. Overall pleasant class, but very tough. Only had 4 tests, which one was dropped. For the final he let you retake one of the tests. Take notes and study your ppt's very hard. Lots of tricky questions on the test.
He is a great teacher. Not hard. I completely agree with the other comment about an Easy B. Many students got an A though - so it's really just up to you. The grades are only 3 test grades. You take 4 tests (including the final) and he drops the lowest test grade. I recommend that if you take him, do well on the first 3 tests, so no final :)
Show up, pay attention, take good notes and if you don't make an A in the class - the problem is NOT the professor...he teaches the test. Highly recommend
What a great teacher. Easy A if you attend class, concentrate and study for tests.
Excellent professor, you must attend to class and definetly take notes, most of times he writtes on the board what you need to remember and tells you what to write, People keep in mind you are in college!... you have to write some notes and the effort is not really that much.
I enjoyed this class, but Economics is my major. It was fairly easy if you pay attention and do the test reviews. The final was open book/notes, but if you are happy with your grade going into the final, you don't have to take it. He drops the lowest grade.
Way easy teacher. If you show up, take notes, and review them for the test, this class should be an easy A. He practically gives you the answers to the test and will never try and trick you. Highly recommended!
Nice guy. Organized. Always in his office if you need help. He gave review questions after each chapter and the answers just for studying. Also gave a review test before each test and took some of those questions and put them on the regular test. No homework. Tests mainly came from his notes.
He's a good guy and wants his students to do well in his class. He gets a little frustrated when you don't understand something. I think he just has trouble explaining it in any other way. His tests are pretty much copied from the review questions that he gives you, so make sure to study those and you'll do fine.
Great teacher. You don't need the book at all. Posts all his notes online. Tests come straight from notes. Very easy class.
Great teacher. He wants you to learn. He teaches everything on the test in class from the powerpoints. He also gives study guides before they test. Show up, pay attention and get an A. Highly recommended.
best prof in kennesaw state...he knows the content.unlike other profs.he rarely uses the textbooks.he's smart n interesting..he teaches not just for test purposes but u actually understand the subject...luv him
Great professor. Willing to help any student with their problems. Very difficult class, but he gives you all the tools you need. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! It is not needed. All coursework is given to you on WebCT. You should definitely attend class, but it's not necessary.
Professor Murat is one of the best teachers. He clearly states and explains everything. I didn't make the best grade but because have personal issues and wanted to let all students know that sometimes is not your teacher but your habits that makes a difference.
This Professor is awesome!! The best professor at KSU!! I would definitely take him, if you want an A is his class!! You Rock Professor Doral
Never went to class, or looked or notes. Only read the book for one test. The tests were really easy. As long as you read the book you will get an A or B. Professor has a slight accent, but it isn't bad. He can be very entertaining and make a lot of jokes. Lectures were alright but sometimes hard to pay attention to. Overall nice, easy class.
Posts study guides online. Just show up for tests.
If you're planning on working for Pres Obama and Chrm Bernanke this is the guy. He knows his information. For understanding, take the other guy. He's not a bad teacher and he tries to help but you've got to be there all the time. You can't have any outstanding issues that will not allow you to spend maximum time studying the material.
Great professor! Thorough explanations, good study guides and a sense of humor. He gets a star!
This class was very easy. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK!!! All you have to do is study the study guide that he provides on WebCT. I mad an A this summer!!!!
This is a GenEd/Freshman-level course, so it's going to be easy. I got an A by showing up to class and taking light notes (only the important stuff) from the slides and then reviewing the study guides. He can't make the material any more simple or clear. I enjoyed it when stupid people asked dumb questions and he sort of made fun of them in class.
This was a pretty easy class. Dr. Doral is very nice and helpful. His lectures are a little on the boring side and he tends to repeat himself a lot, but I think it is in an attempt to emphasize test items. A lot of ppl only showed up for tests and were able to pass, but it is an easy A if you come to class and review the slides prior to the test
He put all of his notes online. Not only power points but also outlines and practice questions. He uses about 99%of the practice ques. on the tests. He does not give any extra credit. You do not need the book! He is a great teacher and explains the material in a way you understand. Very easy going.
Really good teacher atleast over the summer. He kept it easy and you didn't really need the book if you went to class.
Took him online - just follow his outline and you will do fine. Make effort to attend his optional meetings at the beginning of the class where he will explain the course in detail. Communication via email could be impoved on his part, but that motivated me to do even better. Tests almost like test review, so show up for those classes too.
All you need to do is READ HIS ONLINE NOTES and memorize it all and you will get a 100 on all the tests. There are NO curve ball questions he is completely straight forward and fair. No quizzes, no essays, nothing but 4 tests and he drops the lowest one. That's it. No homework. VERY FAIR. oh and he makes economics VERY interesting!!!!
If i had actually read his notes before tests I would have gotten an easy A. A nice guy but he reads off the ppt's in class and it gets pretty boring. Read his online powerpoints and it's an easy A. 4 tests the entire semester and he drops the lowest grade (if you have good grades before it means you can get a zero on a test and it won't matter) :)
Great professor, he made economics interesting. Study his online notes and listen to him in lecture, ask questions. 4 tests and he drops the lowest, easy A or should be if you have any drive.
Attend class and listen to the lectures. He is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to his subject. I'd hire him to help me run a business. Tests are fair. No trick questions. Straight off the powerpoints. Can't go wrong taking him
Three test comes straight from the power point. Although he throws tricks questions on the test. hint hint, if you print the power points everything that is underline is on the test. Hard and very boring class no curves no extra credit u might want to take another teacher!!!!!
He is Awesome. Don't buy the book. All of his notes are online. His test come directly from his notes. 4 test and he drops your lowest grade. No make-up test really unless you have a big emergency. Come to class, get and A .
Four test, drops the lowest that's all. When he goes over the powerpoints kinda makes sense but may confuse you a bit.
Pretty awesome. All he asks for is for you to behave...or he'll embarrass you. It happened twice during my class with him. He's nice, approachable, and helpful. He's got an accent, but it doesn't interfere with clarity. Decently simple class.
So far everything positive that everyone has said about him on here is correct. Great teacher. The guy knows his stuff - Take his class! But don't buy the books, just print out his notes and use those. Drops the lowest test grade. No quiz, no homework. Sell back the books you bought for his class, read his notes, come to class, study, get your A.

Very nice professor, four test and he drops the lowest grade. Everything you need to know is in his power point. I regret buying the book. I told my friend to take his class and she is so happy that listened to me. If you want an A for his class take Professor Doral. Great man.
I would recommend taking this professor. Attendance is definitely not required. All you need to do is print out the power points and study them.
There is no need to buy the book or even attend class. I studied his power points and notes online the night before the tests and got a B on every one. I actually did better when I didn't go to class. Sometimes his lectures made it more confusing for me.
Easy A. Just come to class.
Easiest teacher i've EVER had. I hate economics so i was glad i got an A! posts all his powerpoints and study guides online- exactly what's on the test. drops the lowest of your 4 test scores and takes the average of the 3. attendance isn't required and when you do go, he's pretty funny and really knows his stuff. take this class if you can!!!
I took Doral's online econ class over the summer, and i was so scared but it ended up being one of the most straight-forward and easy classes i have ever taken in college. I rarely use the book, he covers everything necessary for the midterm/final in his power points. Midterm and final were open book/open note. helpful!
This class is only easy if you attend the lectures. He's a very fair professor. Drops the lowest test grade and the final is not comprehensive! If you have to take this class, take him.
Dr. Doral was a great teacher. If you have to take Econ 2100 take him. Economics isnt really my thing. I couldve made an A but I made a B. Tests are fair he drops the lowest one. Lectures were intersting.
We didn't use a book, we would use PowerPoints offline and he would read straight from the them. The lectures were really boring and didn't keep my interest at all. He does drop the lowest test grade.
First off, do NOT buy the textbook. The class is fairly easy, if you just study and go to class then you will do great. I made an A. Good professor.
Awesome teacher, easy to pay attention to in class. Has a sense of humor. Just go to class! Take modest notes and try to understand concepts. The tests are from the powerpoints and he eleborates on them a lot, sometimes we only got through 4-5 slides in a class.
Easy class. I took it over the summer, didn't have to actually go to class. He posts lectures online, and literally outlines what you need to know on them. You do not need the textbook, exams are exactly what is on the PPT.
This class isn't too bad. He doesn't take attendance, but I HIGHLY recommend going to class. He can come off as rude sometimes, but he's overall funny and nice. There are 4 MC tests, but he only takes the avg. of your top 3 tests. DO NOT buy the book; he posts powerpoints, lecture notes, and sample questions online (plenty of material). Take him!
Good teacher! puts powerpoints online which is the majority of test. dont buy book. must study for test
GREAT TEACHER! Was the best class this semester. He knows his stuff and makes Econ easy to comprehend. I suggest going to class because he will point out what wil be on the test in class so you know what to study. Do not buy the book unless you want to read for pleasure.
This Guy is a great teacher, very thorough (but can come across as repetitive) Because that is what will be on the exam. He is letting you know by "saying it again". If you read the power points and study them and attend class there is no reason you shouldn't get an A. I had no interest in Econ before and He made it interesting.I LEARNED A LOT!
By far the most boring professor I've ever had in my life. He repeats the same information over and over and it's really hard to pay attention in his class. He constantly interrupts or cuts off people asking questions and when he does answer questions he acts bewildered why you don't know everything in the world about econ. Wouldn't recommend him.
If you have to take econ, TAKE DORAL! Material is hard in general, but he really tries to make sure everyone understands. He will repeat himself a million times so that the class gets the material. This is a lecture class, if you take notes and follow along- You will do fine! I'm an average student and haven't gotten lower than a B on a test.
Great professor-took him online. Makes sure you understand what he's trying to teach. Quizzes every week, 3 "short essay" worksheets, and 5 discussions. Extremely helpful when you need it.
Definitely wouldn't recommend taking him if you need to be taught. He has an accent and gets irritated when you ask him questions. He always thinks you are arguing with him and is very defensive. You don't need the book or and is not mandatory to go to class. But I would have definitely taken a different professor!
1st part of the semester was much harder than the 2nd half. He gives powerpoints to study, but I would recommend getting the Commanding Heights book that is part of the reading. The textbook is really not needed. Go to class, listen, take notes, read, and you should do fine. He is hard to understand and gets irritated at questions.
Best proff. EVER! I made a 99 in his class and didnt have to study much. Go to class, write down EVERYTHING he says and you will make a 100. His tests are word for word what he lectres. But try not to miss class, if you miss a class you miss alot. He has powerpnts online but they are'nt very helpful. You have to GO TO CLASS. He's really nice too.
Usually easy to understand, but does have an accent (never figured out where he's from.. I think he mentioned Turkey). He does get agitated sometimes, but I usually found it hilarious, albeit awkward. Class itself is easy if you pay attention, come to class, and print the slides and study them well before the test. Test comes from the slides.
TAKE HIS CLASS!! Great Professor interacts with students. Always available to answer questions. Made our class interest. TAKE HIS CLASS!!
Pretty easy class. Straight lecture. No movies. He posts the notes to vista that he goes over, it's a lot of memorization. His tests are pretty easy. He's helpful and he can meet with you to go over anything. Attendance isn't mandatory and if you're good at picking his posted notes apart, you really don't have to go to class. Class is dull.
Online, he doesn't teach. You read the text and teach yourself. All tests are open note, open book and use computer. But the tests are long, so you need to know your stuff. The tests are the majority of your grade. Stay on top of homework. Read the book. Don't expect him to help much.
Great teacher! You dont need to go to class or get the book to get a good grade. Just understand the power points and the practice questions he gives you. He also makes a notes sheet which is VERY helpful! I would retake him!
GREAT teacher. He posts notes, powerpoints, and practice questions online. His lectures are extremely helpful if you don't really understand econ. The only grades are the tests except one extra credit quiz. He is helpful and makes the class not as boring as most econ classes are. I would definitely take him again.
Not the easiest content but good professor. Attendance is not mandatory. Book is not necessary. The class itself requires studying! Would recommend.
Prof. Doral presents class material in a very clear manner. He's also very eager to answer student questions and makes sure that the answer is understood. Class format: 3 tests, non-cumulative final; drops lowest grade of the four. Not a terribly difficult class, if your attendance is good. Highly recommended!
Prof Doral made this class less boring and easy. I made an A, just print off his lecture and power point notes, study that and understand the material, do the sample quizzes and you'll do fine on the tests! Nothing random shows up, only what he discusses in class. Attendance isnt mandatory, but go because he really explains the material! TAKE HIM!
Awesome class. Great teacher! Don't take attendance but coming to class is a big plus! answers all questions; very understanding! If you have to take ECON take this teacher!
Good professor. Lectures can be boring but he does a great job explaining the material. Study the sample questions and come to class. Not to bad if you put forth the effort.
Best Econ class! He is very straight forward, and presents the material in the most basic way so that it is easily understood. If you go to class and take notes, you're guaranteed an A on the tests! Attendance isn't mandatory, but what he says is exactly on the test!
Best Class ever, took it over the summer and got an A. You dont have to buy the text book. However you might want to buy the commanding heights book.
He's a very nice guy. Very straight forward. I missed an A by 2 points. Go to class, study the study guides he puts online, and you'll be fine.
Good professor! I only perceived him as agitated when he was running short on time, and even then he'll still answer questions after class if you can hang around for a bit. Made the class very interesting; always talking about things in Turkey and around the word. 4 tests including the final, non-cumulative, and the lowest is dropped.
4 Exams. Drops lowest. Class is an average of 3 highest tests. Not cumulative. Grades are final. No extra credit, curves, or rounding. For our class we did get an exception and was offered a bonus quiz for additional points to test average. Knows his stuff. Talks the entire class. Repeats ideas. Nice guy. However, occasionally calls out students.
AVOID AT ANY COST!!
Has an accent, actually makes you focus a little harder. Not difficult to understand though. By far best professor I've ever had. Go to class every day he gives amazing lectures. Answers questions thoroughly. Wants you to succeed. 4 exams, drops lowest. Study the practice quizzes as all questions are usually also on exam! Interesting class, promise!
Great teacher and knows alot about his subject, I just find this subject hard, gives 4 test drops lowest one and gives practice answers.
Took his class online this summer. TAKE HIS CLASS ONLINE!!! EASY A. I'd take it over again if I could. Don't need the book.
Professor Doral is a good teacher who knows his stuff. With that being said, his attitude toward his students is not friendly. He gets frustrated when people ask questions, and then urges everyone to ask questions. Not a hard class, but not a comfortable class to sit through.
confusing. lost on his own thoughts. make easy subjects look harder.
He is not good at explaining things, and its not mainly due to his accent, its because he is scatterbrained. He cannot keep the class engaged and forgets to go over things related to the sample questions. Good news is that he gives you sample 5-10 sample questions that could be on the test, and he also has PowerPoints that are more useful then him.
He is extremely boring! In my perspective, he is not a good teacher either. He makes concepts essentially harder than what they really are. Take someone else!
I took this class online. You have an online 5 question quiz due every week, which isn't that hard. Two discussion questions and 2 short essays (more of 1-3 sentences). The only two tests are the midterm (online) and a final (in-class). The midterm is very similar to the daily quizzes and gives study guide as well. Very easy class! Would take again
Professor Doral replaced our econ professor midway through the semester. He filled our old professor's shoes very nicely despite the situation he was put in. His lectures are clearcut, and is great at answering any questions he can. Tests are very straightforward and easy if you do the work. Gave us review material as we went along. Would recommend
I went to class everyday, I wrote down notes, I tried really hard and I still got a "D" in his class. When he says he does not bump up people's grades, he means it. I needed one point to get a "C".. I just did not understand the material very well, and now I have to re-take this class. I am so disappointed, because his tests were confusingvague.
Not nearly as easy as everyone said he was. Tests are sometimes difficult to understand. No rounding, no curves, no extra credit. I barely got a C. Only 4 tests and he drops the lowest one. That's your entire grade so if you're not a good test taker, best of luck. Smart man who knows his stuff but he repeats himself a lot and makes easy things hard
4 tests, lowest dropped, you can finish the class after the 3rd test if you want. Take thorough notes for an 'A,' his tests can be tricky. I always took 1 page of typed notes, and I made 'A's' on the tests. Study his sample quizzes, and all the PPT slides for the test. Study hard, know the material, & try and study few days before test for an 'A.'
He is a GREAT professor. He explains things clearly, is willing to help, and is actually really friendly. I don't get the prior reviews saying he's unfriendly, that is not at all what I experienced. Take notes & study the ppt slides just a few days before the test. This is college right? An 'A' in his class is very achievable & he drops lowest grade
He is an awesome professor. Doral is very clear in his teaching method, he wants students to understand the material and he is willing to help if you need it. The lowest test grade is dropped and if you are fine with your first 3 test grades you don't even need to take the final. I didn't take the final & made an 'A'! I definitely recommend him!!!
Only four grades so if you typically rely on quizzeshomework grades don't take him. Other than that, he's amazing. I don't get the reviews saying he's unfriendly, he was super nice and gladly gave me advice over what clubs I should join for my major and gave our class professor recommendations. Highly recommend taking his class.
Professor Doral is amazing! He tells you from the beginning: 4 tests, but one is dropped. He is so smart that you really do not have to read. He doesn't even use the powerpoint because he knows the material so well. He posts the powerpoints but not all of his notes. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you come to every class you'll get a good grade
Not having homework grades has really hurt me. I made a D and C on first two tests. Must really work hard to save your grade if you screw up. He does post sample questions on D2L before tests that are similar to test questions. He is a super nice guy and really loves the subject. But only take if you test well and don't need homework grades.
This class was awful for me, but I also really don't like economics. The professor is sometimes hard to understand (he has a heavy accent), but he also thoroughly explains the information he goes over. He sends out sample test questions before each test, giving you 10 free answers. There are only four test, and only 3 are counted.
Does not take attendance. 4 tests, drops the lowest one & averages the other 3 for your final grade. Loads ppt, class notes, & sample test q's for each unit. In class he is very detailed and clear about what he's talking about. Only complaint is that he gets kind of annoyed when you ask q's in class. NO NEED FOR THE TEXTBOOK AT ALL.
4 tests, drops the lowest one. Each exam was only over 2 chapters and 40 questions. His lectures are kind of all over the place so I recommend reading the book, although it is not necessary. Overall, it was a super easy class.
There are four tests and no other graded assignments. He does have a slight accent, but it never prohibited me from understanding him. Tests are easy if you study. He drops the lowest grade, so if you have an A after the first 3 tests, you don't have to take the final. I recommend going to class because questions on the test come from discussion.
Took this online in the Summer. DON'T BUY THE BOOK. His power points cover everything and most of the quiz answers are online. Midterm was online and final was in class but both were open everything. We could bring our own laptops to the exam even. Take him.
Awful. I'm normally an A/high B student. I'm lucky to have a C right now and not an F. Class is miserable. He doesn't make the learning experience enjoyable. Plus we only have 4 test grades with one being dropped. Need more to back up the hard subject. After test two I think maybe 2 people had A's and ROUGHLY 25% of the class was failing.
Professor Doral is a very good economics professor, it is very difficult to get interested in economics if you do not care, however I find that this professor did very well to inject a relative amount of enthusiasm and energy. Do not buy the textbook as he practically gives you all the information you need for test preparation in his lectures.
Has a very clear understanding of his field and is superb at communicating this knowledge. Lectures are dry, but so is economics. He successfully incorporates historic or present examples into the classroom. 4 tests, 1 is dropped. Tests are completely based on lectures, no book needed. If you take him, please tell me he does not sound like Shrek.
Probably the easiest Econ class. You have 2 discussion questions and 2 short essays. There not necessarily short essays, you just need to answer 5 questions and it can't be more than one page. 5 question quiz every Sunday which is also very simple. Midterm online and final will be on campus. Super easy. You're supposed to get the book but I didn't.
He is simply "ok." If you have a question he will try his absolute best to explain it. Extremely intelligent. However, he has to be right 100% of the time. No if, ands, or buts and makes you feel stupid. 3 tests one is dropped and the tests are NOT easy - very tricky. Had to study for hours just to make an A. Take him only if your a good test taker
Best professor ever. Literally just write down word for word what he writes on the board and know the concepts of what he writes and you should be golden. Easiest class ever.
Easiest Econ class ever! I don't think he cares if you cheat lol. 5 question quiz each week. 2 short essays 2 discussion both which are super easy. Midterm online, final on campus. For the final he lets you use anything you want which includes notes, textbook, sample questions, internet. We can also bring our laptops, iPads, etc. for the final.
Great teacher who wants you to succeed and works with you to achieve it. Weekly quizzes that are only 5 questions! A couple of discussions and short essays ( just answer 5 questions).
Wouldn't take again.
One of the most laid back professors ever. I don't think he cares if you cheat. Best thing about this class is that you get to bring your devices(laptop, iPad, etc) to the final and look up all the answers online!
AWESOME TEACHER!! He writes all notes on the white board, but it helps you to understand more than simply reading the textbook (which we never used so you don't have to buy it.) We had 4 tests throughout the course, one including the "final" that was not cumulative. He drops your lowest test grade, and he offers extra credit/office hours.
He's a great professor and I would definitely take his class again.
I didnt buy the book.I took Mr. Murat online and made a A. He replies quickly to emails and is always around to clarify anything. His syllabus is straight forward. He one of the best professors Ive had so far and Im a junior. Hes really caring and wants everyone to pass with a B or higher you can tell he wants you to do well. Highly recommend.
Mr. Doral was great I took him online and I highly recommend him. Its an easy A. Syllabus is straight forward. Super easy quizlet class.
He didn't know how to teach correctly and students are only graded by three tests. He drops the lowest test grade, but it still didn't help me at all. He's a nice person, but isn't clear in teaching the concepts of macro. He doesn't offer extra credit and doesn't curve tests at all. I would not recommend taking his class at all.
He's one my favorite professors at KSU. I wish he taught Statistics. I took him online so I'm not sure what the classroom setting is like but for online he lets you view the power points and work at your own pace. The quizzes are easy. Hes accessible through email and really wants his students to pass. Highly recommend him. I didn't buy the book.
I took this professor online and made a solid A. His grading criteria is straight forward and mostly everyone in my online class had an A or B before the final. I highly recommend him. I didn't buy the book. Just read his power points.
No curves, no extra credit. 4 tests, lowest dropped. didn't teach in class the material on the exam. Avoid.
Very good professor. Lecture based class but all the powerpoints and lecture notes can be found on D2l. He is really passionate about economics and explains the material well. There are 4 tests including the final, but he drops the lowest test grade and averages your highest three tests. No textbook needed. No extra Credit. Doesn't take attendance.
Took him for 2200, 2300, and 1000 next semester. 2200 and 2300 were set up exact same way, weekly quizzes, a few tests, with every single answer being on quizlet. Two writing assignments, again, every answer found online. It would actually be quite difficult to get anything other than an A.
Great professor, truly wants you to get a good grade. Weekly quizzes, all answers can be found in the powerpoints. I didn't buy the textbook, it wasn't needed. Midterm and final both open notes, book, powerpoint, internet, etc. On campus final where you can bring your laptop. He makes the class so easy to understand and straight forward. Easy A
The tests were similar to what was discussed in class but diff enough to trick you. It's the way he words things on the test, they just aren't the same. I studied hard for his tests, & barely made it. After each test he posted the class grades & you could see everyone's grade - the whole class was averaging a C & below for a lower level class ..
The worst professor at KSU. He has no idea how to teach and is NOT clear during lectures. I took notes at every class and studied very hard, but still did awfully in his class. There are only three tests, plus the final and he does not give extra credit. He's also terrible at explaining topics when you have questions. Don't ever take his class.
This class is only 4 test. He says that the test is over what he talks about, which is accurate, but the issue is that he talks so much and its all over the place so you don't know what to write down. So I went to one on one tutoring with him and still wasn't enough and made a D in the class. Disappointed in the professor.
You have 4 test that are over what he discus s in class. The issue with this class is that he talks so much and it's all over the place it's hard to know what is on the test. Then the test are difficult and confusing. There are no study guides either. I went to one on one tutoring and still did not do well in this class.
Easy format. Weekly quizzes and 4 short essays. Midterm online. Open note In class final. Def an easy A if you MAKE ALL DEADLINES. I missed 1 SE & still got a B even with an A on the final. No grading curve or extra credit. Meeting him during the final made me glad I took him online. Very rude & condescending. Nonetheless I would take him again.
I took him for Marco 2200 online for the summer and it was the best, I got an A in the class (TAKE HIM ONLINE NOT IN CLASS). I literally used quizlet for everything, the lowest grade I had received in that class was an 80 on a quiz. At the end of the semester the final is in class but its open book, notes, Ipad, and laptop. It was so easy.
One of the school's many joke classes. Doesn't make any of the tests, content is basic, lectures are repetitive. Take him for an easy A but don't expect to get anything out of it. Throughout the semester, he made several errors with grading and gets defensive when pointed out. Not surprising considering he doesn't make the questions.
Took 2 exams and I am sitting very close to failing this next exam could make or break my grade kill my GPA etc. I am a president at KSU and my GPA is above a 4.0 and I can tell you his test are scary, but I wouldn't even risk it. His study guides don't help really or the book. Please don't I am warning you.I don't sleep at night bc of this man
He's amazing overall! You are only graded on 3 tests which can sound scary but if you listen to his lectures and take solid notes you'll be fine. He also gives out extra credit for the final by going to events which is what helped me get an A. Also don't be surprised if he starts talking about Papa John's or Louis Vuitton bags lol. Imma miss him :(
Murat Doral is a great Econ teacher. His lectures are entertaining, and as long as you pay attention and take notes you should be fine. Your whole grade depends on three tests, but study and take good notes and you will be completely fine. Also, be prepared for a lot of talks of Louis Vuitton Bags, Papa Johns, and Quiktrip
I thought his class was an easy A, but I got played. Your grade is based off 3 test, and give you 9 points of extra credit which was applied on the last test. His lectures are supper heavy and require you to show up for class to get a decent grade. I never skipped his class but somehow ended up with C because it was a lot of content to remember.
You take three tests during the semester and that's basically your whole grade if you show up to the lecture and study the day before the test then it should be easy to get an A or B in this class. Also, have the opportunity for 9 points if you go to three of the extra credit presentations. You should take the class his a funny and cool guy.
Professor Doral was a great online professor. He had one quiz due every week on Sunday and they were very easy and (online friendly). He assigned us only 2 discussions and 2 short essays the entire semester. If you don't do well on the assignments then the quizzes will really save your grade. The assignments are easy and instructions are very clear
Easy A
I came into this class thinking it would be an easy A, but it was not. He was a really nice man, but the PowerPoints he went over in class had nothing in common with the quizzes or tests. Quizlet wasnt much of a help. He also often went over his time in class because he talked a lot. Overall, the class wasnt bad since attendance wasnt mandatory.
Overall, the class was very easy. The entire grade is made up from the test- which are easy, and it's not on lockdown. Just watch his lectures and you'll do fine! He also provides extra credit towards the end of the semester if you're not happy with your grade.
He is a very nice professor, and you can tell that he cares about his students offering as much outside help as he can. He can often be repetitive with things from the previous class, but that means he will go over the material again. He is encouraging and one of the best Econ professors at KSU. I recommend taking him. Just make sure you study!
very surprised there is not more people talking abt how rude this professor is. he often gets grading wrong and got mad at us when we would point it out. extremely childish and a bully. i would never recommend anyone be in his class or ever speak to him. put in the work and youll make an A but he is beyond rude. he will humiliate you in class
decent teacher, not very helpful whenever you ask him questions. there's been plenty of situations where he embarrases students that ask questions. feel like he doesn't really care about the class itself either and i feel like his teacher style would be better for online courses and not in-person lectures.
He was a good professor. Just do your part and study the powerpoint notes he provides and study the sample questions and study guides he provides before every exam. 3 exams in total, no homework or assignments. The exams were in person on a scantron he provided. Easy A if you do your part.
I took Professor Doral for the Spring semester, and from day one it was a weird class. I say this because on Owl Express it says it's a semester long class, yet he ends it in March. He only grades on 3 tests, which he gives study guides and study questions for. To me he comes off as a little mean, if it isn't his way, he gets a mad.
Mr. Doral is a very nice guy. The only downside is sometimes he focuses too hard on a certain point and can become repetitive, but is super easy to follow lecture-wise. Copy down PowerPoints and use the study guides he gives and you'll get an easy A. There are 3 tests, First, Second and Final exam. Gives 6 points worth of extra credit for exams.
I took him for Econ 2105. He's a great guy super fun to talk to and very easy to get along with. You take 3 tests 10 quizzes and 1 final, which is the same length as the tests(30 questions). He drops your lowest test and your 2 lowest quizzes and also gives you an extra credit quiz. It's very easy to do well in his class, even if you don't show up.
Was a pretty low effort online class over the summer, but he was pretty accessible and the grading guidelines were clear.
Decent professor. He gets stuck on one topic in a power point and will not move on for the rest of the week. He constantly repeats things over and over, but that may be a good thing for you. He will call you out though if you try to leave early, so heads up. He wasn't bad, but he did seem constantly mad about something.
He only has 3 test so pray you do good in your tests. He gets off topic quick so get ready.
AVOID. He is rudeeeeeeeee!!!!!!
Honestly he is a good professor but he can get very snappy and emotional. He only grades on 3 test but offers a lot of extra credit. Overall good professor just needs to handle temper.
Doral is a decent professor who has a passion for econ and wants students to learn. His class is boring and he is a bit snappy but I don't know what else you expect from an econ class. Main issue is he spends way too much time on topics that could be explained in a few sentences. Only 3 tests but gave us the opportunity to get 21 bonus points
He had amazing lectures and gave the class many extra credit opportunities. However, the only graded assignments were 2 tests and the final, so there's no room for error. Overall I thought he was a great professor and all the PowerPoints were accessible online.
I guess the class is pretty easy, but its difficult if you mess up on a single test because your entire grade is made up by 3 exams. He is a pretty likable guy who seemed to enjoy teaching. As long as you take good enough notes and do the extra credit if available, you should definitely get at least a B or an A.
You have 3 tests for your entire grade and little extra credit. I was not good at Econ and still somehow pulled out an A. Such a sweet professor and really cares but the way he graded the class made it more difficult for me. If you can just take a different professor there are so many easy econ classes, but don't freak if you have to take him.
He was okay. I stopped showing up to class so attendance is not mandatory. The times I went to class he seemed chill.
Professor Doral was a great professor. Attendance is not mandatory, and I never showed up to class but all lecture materials are accessible online. The grading criteria is stated clearly on the syllabus. He drops the lowest exam and quiz grade. He literally gives an extra credit quiz and 5 EXTRA points just because. And he has quiz practices on D2L
I enjoyed Prof. Doral's class immensely - I was able to access it during office hours when I was struggling with a concept - to rea his exams, I recommend reading the textbook before the lecture and then testing yourself from the quizzes and sample questions that gave me the best results.
Drops lowest 2 quizzes and adds 5 points to your final grade. He is caring and extremely knowledgeable. Would recommend going to class although it's not required. Not an overly difficult class and Prof. Doral is definitely someone I would take again,
I took this course over the summer, and it was straightforward - just read the textbooks and understand the material rather than memorize it!
Professor Doral is an absolutely phenomenal economics professor. He makes the content easy to understand and explains things if you don't understand them. There are online chapter quizzes almost every week, but they are easy. Tests are comprised of quiz questions, study guide questions, and sentences straight from his powerpoints. Strong recommend.
Great professor, very responsive. He cares about his students' success.
This man does not want you to fail, he literally tells you multiple exam questions before the exam, makes study guides which he uses around 5-10 questions off of for the exam, and he showed us quizlet links to study with which had many quiz answers. Additionally his lectures are clear and easy to understand.
Professor Doral is a really nice guy, but his class is unorganized and his lectures go over the time limit. The material is not too difficult, since its just higher-level financial theory and equations. Quizzes are easy, but the tests are long with a short time limit and very difficult multiple-choice questions. Take him at your own risk.
He is a good guy but isn't really the best professor. Overall not a challenging course but he does make his own tests. Definitely an easy pass or B, you have to do some work for an A. Rarely attended class and got a low A.
Super nice and understanding. Lectures were engaging and informative. Easy class as long as you go to lecture and take notes. Only quizzes and 2 exams and final, no lockdown browser for quiz and exams are in class. Drops lowest exam score and final is not cumulative. Textbook not necessary but was helpful for studying. Overall great professor!
SAVE YOUR SELF OMG HE CANT EXPLAIN THE TOPICS AT AT ALL AND THE TESTS DONT MAKE SINCE AND HE ONLY TEACHES 50% of what you need to know Take ANY one else and or a different class please SOS
Please listen to my advice. I hope this message finds you well and will save your from making this unbearable mistake of selecting Murat Doral as your professor!!! I have always been a pretty smart student and have consistently earned straight A's. Let's cut to the chase: You are only given 4 scantron tests & several quizzes. I got a C. STAY AWAY!!
The quizzes are HARD & NOT OPEN NOTE. I failed most of the quizzes and that tore my class grade. I got a 79.25% in the class. he will not curve the grade. As far as the tests are concerned, they are supposedly based off of his class lectures. Don't get me started on them lectures!!!!!! He goes on like a never ending carousel of meaningless words.
Professor Doral makes the content easy to grasp. His lectures are clear, and he even provides study guides with quiz questions. unstuck study was a lifesaver for extra practice. Overall, a solid econ class.
I liked this class because I am a good test taker but if you aren't, stay away. The only grades are quizzes, two exams, and the final. However, the final replaces the lowest exam grade and he offers extra credit. He takes a long time to get through the PowerPoint slides but he's a good teacher.
Cool guy, simple class and concepts, tries his best and it works. Conveys the material well, sometimes not as well as he could, however the material isn't super complex especially if you have taken any econ before.
Doral Murat is a great professor. His lectures can be long and seem to drag, but if you pay attention and take notes he makes it seem very interesting. 3 exams and a few quizzes. Attendance isn't mandatory but encouraged. Drops lowest exam, and lowest quiz grade. Exams and tests are online, no lockdown or webcam. Highly recommend!
Doral was cool! He had a tendency to take too long on PowerPoints, which got us behind. Sweet guy for sure, just slightly boring lectures, and exams are worth a lot. All exams are taken in person, and one of the first 2 was dropped. This does mean though that a single exam was worth 33% of the grade. Good test takers should take his class.
Super funny guy! Attendance is not mandatory, and quizzes (at-home) and exams (in-class) are not lockdown. Really easy class.
Pretty good professor. all exams and quizzes are online and no lock down browser.
He was a good professor, the class itself is just not interesting. The only grades are quizzes and 3 tests. He drops the lowest of the 2 first tests and lowest quiz score. He has multiple easy extra credit opportunities. Provides practice questions and some quiz questions that are on the tests. He can get boring but does teach very thoroughly.
He was a really nice guy and was knowledgeable about his subject. It was very test and quiz heavy, but have a lot of extra credit opportunities.
Good professor, cares about students, and explains material well. Not very many assignments or quizzes but there are extra credit opportunities. The course runs good enough for a beginner ECON class.
Mr. Murat made economics so easy to understand because he involves the class during his lectures. If you want to get a good grade in this class, just simply show up and take notes. Most of the time he would say "for quiz or exam purposes..." and I would write the fact down. He was also super sweet; he drops lowest exam grade between test 1 and 2.
Attendance not mandatory, but he goes over exam questions during his lectures in class. Very sweet and kind towards students. He's knowledgeable and his lectures can be fun to listen to. He drops the lowest quiz score and the lowest exam score. Allows up to 9 extra points on the final exam (not cumulative).
His lectures will give you a passing grade. Along with his PowerPoints, it should be a very easy class to get an A or B in. Each unit is graded by four quizzes and four exams. He is willing to repeat anything you may not understand because he has a bit of an accent. Ask questions!
Honestly he cant really teach, he goes on long unrelated tangets, repeats himself and doesn't provide anything of substance. Take Gar if you can!!!
The professor is good and straight forward his lectures are important to understand and I would recommend you lock in and attend them. However, attendance is not mandatory, and quizzes at-home and exams in-class are not lockdown. Drops lowest exam, and lowest quiz grade. I would highly recommend you to use Quizlet to study for this class!
Couldn't understand him most the time and he repeated himself about one topic for entire classes. When we would get to tests we wouldn't know everything because he didn't teach everything
I think he was a great teacher, but he did have a habit of reviewing slides from previous days. But did go into great detail. Dropped lowest grades. Very hard to fail class unless you really just didn't try.
Tried to accuse me of cheating when I didn't just because I was in a groupMe. Lectures are so boring and time passes by SO slow. If you miss one class and it is over for you. If you are someone who misses class a lot, this class is NOT for you. Tests are on scantrons now because someone got caught cheating though lol.
This Professor was very organized in his video lectures. He also provides 2 extra credit essays assignments which each were worth 3 points adding up to 6 points, and the Yousicence assessment 3-points These points will be added to the numerical grade achieved on the final exam. I also like how he would drop a quiz/exam grade with a bad score.
Highly recommend Professor Doral. You will have a quiz every week that is online and is not lockdown on each chapter and after 3 chapters you will have an exam. Exams are in class but are not lockdown and are simple. Everything he says is also on the exams. Final exam is not cumulative and class only lasted 2 months. Attendance is not mandatory
quiz every week but as long as you do the study guide, you're good. he gives sample questions for each exam and attendance is very not mandated. he really cares though so he notices when you come to class.
Meeting with him helps a lot. There's only online quizzes and then exams, no other assignments.
Super lecture heavy course. He reads mostly off the slides but will sometimes go off topic. His slides are very similar to what you see on quizzes & tests. He teaches out of the textbook, but summarizes what he finds important. Gives two chances at extra credit but make sure you pay attention and take notes for quizzes and tests.
Great professor, only grades are tests and quizzes, just make sure you prepare for the tests and youll be good
