The concepts taught in this class are easy but the professor grades like it is rocket science. I attended review sessions, visited during office hours, and talked to him after class to clarify difficult points. You can literally quote him from lectures in class and the textbook on the test and he will still claim your answer is wrong. The worst.

This is the worst professor I have ever taken in my college career. He called a student stupid to their face. He will not give you any feedback on papers that he assigns. You cannot understand him as he speaks very fast and his writing looks like chicken scratch. Would not recommend. 0/10.

Very entertaining and knowledgeable. Lecture heavy and guided discussions. Lot of reading but not all of it is necessary to pass the class comfortably. 2 Papers and 1 final with about a paragraph of homework due each class. I'd recommend, obviously many would not judging by these posts. Maybe just my style of class but I also liked the dude

I very much enjoyed this class. Dr. Jardine is extremely knowledgable on the subjects he teaches and intelligent; you will learn a lot from attending this class. Definitely take if you are interested in political theory, history, the classics, and law. Make sure to do the readings and attend the test reviews as they are very, very helpful.

Though Dr. Jardine was one of the hardest graders I've ever had in college, his lectures really get you thinking. However, you can get around his tough grading if you add every single bit of detail into any assignment you can. Summarize every single plot point and mention every single detail and you'll be just fine. Its time consuming but it works

Dr. Jardine's class was quite difficult in some sense. In order to fully do well you must throughly understand all the concepts he explains in class and through the weekly readings. On our first exam I didn't do that and my grade suffered for it but for the second exam and final I went to review sessions and that made a tremendous difference.

This was the toughest class I've ever taken as a PoliSci major at Auburn. Jardine talks very fast, writes on the board and has illegible handwriting, and doesn't use canvas. Heavy on the readings and memorization of philosophers. As a required course for a PoliSci degree, you would think this class would have a little leeway for the students.

Jardine is a good professor overall, but I can't begin to understand how an advanced philosophy class is a required class for POLI students (coming from a PHIL minor). This should 100% be optional/specialty credit. Very niche. With that being said, an A is definitely possible if you dedicate a lot of time to it (an almost unbearable amount of time).

He is a great professor and knows what he is talking about, but it is one of the heaviest workloads I've ever taken. There is a reading assignment due before every class that takes at least two hours to complete thoroughly. If it's not thorough enough you will get a 50. There are three tests that you HAVE to go to the review sessions for. Not easy

Poli 3020 with Professor Jardine is a workload nightmare. Prepare to do all readings, understand all of them without any assistance from Jardine, and write a full page of answering the study questions exactly as Jardine wants or you get half credit for the assignments. It's criminal that he's the only Poli 3020 teacher at Auburn University.

By far my least favorite class I have taken at Auburn. The scope set by Jardine in this class is far too comprehensive for a required POLI class, he talks extremely fast, has illegible handwriting, is very picky in what he's looking for, and the workload is unnecessarily high. This is essentially a high level class in Continental European thought.

Impossible to learn within his lectures. His handwriting is awful and he talks at a million miles an hour. Makes you read and write a crap ton for extremely low percentage weekly assignments. The guy expects master's level work for tests. I put in a ton of hours into this class only to get a 71. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO

This class is overall pretty hard and even harder when he talks so fast and has poor handwriting. He expects a lot out of his students but if you do all of the readings, go to class, use his outline for notes, and go to every review session you should do fine. He makes you work for ur grade but does care about his students and wants them to succeed

This class is a tough one with a heavy workload. The professor talks fast and has poor handwriting, making it challenging to follow. However, if you put in the time to do all the readings, attend class, and use resources like Unstuckstudy for study prep, you can succeed. The content is interesting but demanding.
